I'd by scared of the survivors seeing my username...
I would have no games because everyone would dodge in fear of the best killer in the game: the almighty Pig.
Jokes aside, in game harassment is annoying but can happen. Everything outside of the match is where it goes into the not-ok - category.

If I’m doing adept, all niceties are thrown out the window. I’m tunneling, proxy camping, and slugging for the 4k. Just the way it has to go for one game.
That's the bad part of the new system. 4k is required for the challenge to be completed.

It's better against less experienced Killers.
They can be overwhelmed by the blindness and open themselves up for all kinds of deceptive plays.
Against more experienced killers, I'd say it's a bad choice. Especially against ones with good headsets.
I have very good sound when playing dbd, so I can just listen to the survivors movement. Due to the flashlight, they make less distance and sometimes this leads to free hits.
Not injured? Listen to food sounds.
Injured? Even easier to track.
It's overall really good for scoring though.
Comes down to the playstyle I'd say.

The only reason I didn't mention the Pig is because you can only preserve stacks when the Survivors *let you* preserve stacks.
She fits under the M1 paradigm I mentioned before, but not under the Rapid Brutality overlap one, as she needs Bloodlust at many loops, especially against pre-dropping madlads.
The best case scenario for a Pig, is a Survivor panic from M1 on an uncrouch, they run into the wall, and STBFL gives you the follow-up hit before they can reorient themselves towards a pallet/window. That is more common than people think, so she is one of the Killers who actually gets more value from STBFL than another perk.
You undervalue the ambush a bit.

Life of a killer main is miserable, perks/killers get nerfed sometimes a few weeks after being released, playing against SWF is not fun, the meta is so inflexible that half the killer roster is almost unplayable, you have to resort to picking a strong killer like blight/nurse.
That's a very one sided perspective.
Haven't played soloq recently?

Ooooogh! That's some "scum of the earth". Exactly what I was talking about in another post.
Maybe not "scum of the earth". They just want to play optimally. The game allows the players to check profiles and prestige in the lobby.
People that see this game very competetively always use the most optimal load out, character and strategy. I just think that checking profiles or prestige to determine who gets to not enjoy a match, just because they played less or haven't leveled up their character enough goes way too far.
-
Maybe not switching your hdmi is the solution? Does it happen often in relation to you doing this?
As you said, the match was over. Why not wait the last few seconds before checking discord?

P100s is one thing.
It’s another to get a 6k hour Survivor in Lobby when I’m just doing a daily on my less experienced Killers. I’m just here to do a daily and log out on some days.
Not to mention some P100s I’ve encountered turned out to be cheaters (P100 with 50 hours played).
You check profiles?
-
Same friend. He's back to number 2.
I'm so gonna look forward to the patch MFT gets nerfed. Then I can actually use the shred on many tiles again, without the survivor running around the corner last second due to the 3% speed increase that wants to ruin my day.

Honestly I agree. The value gained from STBFL is less than the value gained from another perk in place of it. It also trains you to NOT use power with very strong power Killers.
I think STBFL is still good on Killers that don't have an M2 hit, even if the Obsession is bugging you. Either the Obs dies early and gives you a free win, or they lose too much time coordinating heals for the minimal benefit, especially while their team still burns pallets just as fast as normal. IMO Clown is the best user (and one of the few Rapid Brutality users as well), and any other Rapid Brutality/STBFL users like Trapper are also fine with using it.
Ghosty is a perfect example of a horrible STBFL user. You should only get exposed hits, so if you are building STBFL, you are failing at exposed hits. The time you save is from approaching at odd angles or mid 'chase' 99'ing, so that you can on demand 1 hit them when it matters.
Don't forget the pig.
It has synergy with her style of gameplay AND she can save the stacks.
One of the best, if not the best user of Stbfl.
-
@Brix said:
STBFL is the BIGGEST CRUTCH on M2 based killers. Ppl who rely on it never really get used to the Power and utilizing it to the maximum. Shred 2 taps are faster then M1 Demo bc of STBFL.
Ok.
I have 8 stacks of Stbfl. I hit a non obsession. They don't even exit my shred radius. The second part of the chase is therefore less than a few seconds.
If this is not strong, I don't know what to tell you.
Of course you couldake the argument, that other perks like deadlock would give more value, due to the fact, that Stbfl has to be build up. But some people (myself included) enjoy the ultra lethal demo you get with rat liver + 8 stacks Stbfl.
It's fun to play.

Does that actually work? From what it seems when I play Xeno breaking turrets seems to count as a 'missed' attack as if you were to hit a wall, kind of like Dredge breaking locks. So I don't think STBFL would affect that.
It works!!!
At least during the Halloween event it still worked. Haven't played Xeno since then.

What a random thing to say that has nothing to do with anything!
I agree with you though. :)
Random?
This post is about people that use Stbfl on killers with a chase ability.
Case and point: Demo and Xeno
My point to that discussion is, that anybody can use these perks. Nobody should be shamed for their choice of perks.
And believe me, I've seen a lot of shaming while playing both of them with Stbfl.
-
I think they should be hidden. This prevents a lot of prejudice and bias in lobbies.
I watched a streamer yesterday, that, I kid you not, checked every survivors steam profile (if possible) just to find out who has the lowest hours. Why did they do that? To tunnel that person out as fast as possible when the match starts.
This kind of mindset is very unhealthy I feel like.
Prestige does the same but a little more tame.

Honestly, probably very little to nothing if you want to play competitively. Still an S-tier meme machine, but until they give Pig the huge QoL update that she desperately needs, it doesn't matter much. Boops and the chance for head pops are what come to mind. That and she does play a mean game of "Who's the #########" with Iri Tape + Rule #2. Other than that, might as well play Chucky.
Pig's much more than just memes and headpops.
Chucky might be stronger but he doesn't have the strategically component of pig. Chucky is pure chase with stealth. Pig is stealth, weak chase and strategy. Chucky is also 4.4 and Pig 4.6.
Two very different killers.
People don't have to be bound to one killer. You can have the combined meme power of both Chucky and Pig combined for meme-supremacy.
Also, nobody can deny the fact that Pig is the best killer in the game, so there is that. 🐽

NEVER DROP THE PIG!

Are you here to play the game?

I haven't tested it on alien but i disagree that its bad on demogorgon.
I used it on Xeno.
But not for chase.
I use it to have a very short cooldown when breaking turrets.
Bombrush a turret with m1 and you barely lose any distance in chase. Very useful.
Not optimal but useful.
-
You can use any perk on any killer. Nobody should dictate how anyone plays.
I like Stbfl on Demo. Nothing better than M1 into M2 for a 3 second chase. Makes me feel like I'm nurse.
It's not optimal. But it's fun.

A common talking point I have heard in this game for years is that killers who can guarantee a hit or have answers at strong loops are “uninteractive.” Yet no one ever seems to point out that god loops are completely uninteractive for many killers. This seems like a major double standard. Imo, tiles that allow mindgames for both sides should be standard.
I had the same discussion some months ago.
Some tiles are downright unfair for m1 killers and reduce them to literal chase-bots that just brute force a pallet against good survivors.
-
They are strong but absolutely fine.
I'm gonna enjoy seeing more survivors using them.

i dont spam teleport entire match!
Strategic spamming is sadly the most effective playstyle right now. I would love to see it any other way.
Believe me, I mained her since release and until the rework. Very rarely play her since that dreadful day.
I really cherished this killer for what she was. Sadly most of that is gone at this point.

The only way to distinguish between a good Onryo and a bad one is if they can strategically teleport effectively these days. Free mori not even a hook in. Should never be like that.

I ignore prestige anyway no matter what I'm doing... and I had them hidden during the test, and I genuinely believe it helps you play better.
No matter how stoic you are, seeing a bunch of rank 50-80 players does affect your mental, even if for a moment... not having it there means you just go ahead and play...
I want prestige hidden from me, just so I can go in with a fresh slate.
On survivor side, instead of prestige, I also wants survivor perks revealed to me so I can play around my team. Survivor dodging will be an issue, but it goes both ways. If I see an adept, you can bet I'll do my damned best to get that guy out alive.
I liked the testing phase where I got to see no prestige in my lobbies.
Takes away the bias when going into a game. I know prestige doesn't say much but when you get a lobby full of p100 characters you start thinking.
I decided to just do something else while I'm waiting for the match. Most of the time I start drawing.

But when I play killer it's all adren, ort, mft and hope.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3581284#Comment_3581284
The fact that mft nerf brings you such joy shows your a killer main perpetrating "us vs them".
Ok...
Can you prove your point of them being an "dirty killa main"?
Because throwing these terms around is also supporting us VS them.
-
Ok...
First things first: bubba has enormous amounts of counterplay. It's literally a skill issue if you think otherwise.
Whats truly unfair....
Right now:
Some tiles against m1 killers. That means 4.6 movement speed no power used.
Tiles like longtiles on coldwind (cowshed), many main buildings, cow tree and the biggest offender: shack.
Otherwise: mft. It's straight up an unfair against weaker killers. But that won't be such a problem anymore next patch.
Other than that. Not really.
You could say the usual: Blights addons and Nurse with slowdown or aura reading but that's beating a dead horse at this point.
-
I find it OK for flashlight saves. A survivor trying a flashlight save is not on gens. That's a win in my book.

Try standing at the pallet and charge your power.
It looks very similar to breaking a pallet.
You can catch many survivors off guard with that.

A lot of killers underestimate how much time they spend in chase. They say gens pop in 1-2 minutes when they’ve really chased the same survivor for like 3+ minutes.
Thats why i have a clock on my desk to track my times

Shack is fine, Shack next to a gym isnt fine.
For m1 killers, shack is not fine.
A good survivor has all the time in the world and all the angles to see the killer coming.
This reduces an m1 killer to a bot that just brute forces the window until it is blocked and then hopefully gets the pallet out of the way.
This is not fun. As a m1 killer i have no chance to get a hit at that tile of the survivor plays it correctly.
A solution would be to close up the long side of the shack like it is on toba landing. That way the killer would have a chance at mind gaming the tile.
