I heard rumors about dbd in console. I'm a PC player so I dunno if that's true. So PS4 and Xbox players pls answer this question; Is playing killer on console that bad?
If my information is accurate the killer wait times are 2 seconds and the survivor's is 10 minutes (completely opposite from PC BTW) and u have 89% chance to be against swf. Can someone please verify this information? I would appreciate it.
Yes survivor wait times are very long. The killers are usually pretty toxic, especially around ranks 9-12 for some reason.

Ah yes, I do imagine there's a big difference between platforms. I would definitely rather be playing as killer on a console edition.
Edit: The stats say nothing about matchmaking times btw.
No but they show there’s more killer players. Devs have said this on Twitter as well, which I’m trying to locate.

Yeah, but the difference is, those are only a select few. With Survivor, it's easy to rank up no matter what.
Not really. If you get a tunneling killer they will catch you eventually and you derank because you couldn’t participate in the game. It happens a ton. That and you get crap teammates who do nothing the entire time you get chased. You get hooked and look around and see 2 survivor auras in crouching in the weeds, and the missing aura....they’re in a closet.
-
I dunno. I know that I’m rank 6 survivor right now and I’ve had rank 15-18 killers decimate a lobby with op add ons, which just sucks.
The tank system also sucks and I find myself carrying a team more often than not. That plus just how toxic killers have been the last two weeks is why I’m taking a breaK from game.
-
@Cetren said:

That is what's actually happening though. You know. You press play as killer. Then you get into a lobby before you even have time to put on add-ons.
Not on ps4. My killer wait times are much longer than survivor. Here’s some stats for https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/106566/
-
@Tr0g said:
The wait times are long because there are too many survivors and not enough killers. Why? Because killer is stressful and not fun, compared to the casual survivor gameplay. Why? BHVR.
Then why are killer wait times longer if there’s so many survivor lobbies? Lol. By your logic killer players should get instantly put in lobbies but that’s opposite of what’s actually happening.
-
@Tr0g said:
That's what you get for being a whiny survivor. Nerf killers into oblivion, no more games. Oops, people didn't think that one through.
That’s not the cause. It’s low survivor players. Most people are playing killer as stats have shown. Why not do a simple google search before you insult someone? That way you won’t look so stupid.
-
It’s been awful lately. Not just the ranking system, but the lobby wait times and overall toxic way the killers are playing.
I chalk it up to a lot of stupid teens being off school for holidays and pushing their angst into the game. It’s never been this bad.
-
All of the killers are op outside red ranks. That’s why the grind as survivor is so awful on ranks 8-20. I think certain perks and add ons should only unlock at red ranks to make the game more balanced.
As a rank 12 survivor, you still struggle against a rank 16 billy with a Mori and noed. I’m not sure how they could rework it now though as it’s already set up how it is.
I find playing killer very easy and survivor to be a grind. I’m on rank 6 survivor, rank 8 killer.
-
Will it help the bubba to camp and tunnel more? Because that’s all those players do.
-
I don’t get why it takes so long. It’s minimum 3-5 minutes which is a long time to sit. Even on Friday the 13, which has an average of 200 players is quick to get into lobby. Dbd has 20k players on average and it takes decades to get into a lobby.
Then a player disconnects while loading or killer lobby dodges when they see a key or toolboxes, and you have to restart the wait. It’s mind numbing.
-
@Brucecastro81 said:
Insidious bubba is not toxic, when I see one I look at his face and looks back, so I can let him do his job without me interrupting him
I’ve never encountered a bubba that didn’t play dirty. Not a single time.
-
I think noed should be reworked to not be such an end game crutch. Hex Ruin is annoying, but I understand it’s needed for red ranks. Maybe rework it so it only impacts half the survivors on ranks 10-20.

I want to talk about game balance and the future health of the game, however to do that. I need to actually get information about what the community actually considers to be a win. I assume the developers will not share what they consider to be a win so I will have to take the community's most agreed definition of a win on both sides.
I honestly don’t care about escaping but more pipping. I like to have fun and be able to participate and do some objectives. Sadly, lately killers are super toxic try hards who tunnel, camp, bring in dirty builds, so it’s not been fun. I’ve been playing killer which is so much easier.

I definitely disagree. She’s so much more than a “long range camper”. Shes one of the best snowball killers in the game if not, THE best. She’s the best defensive killer in the game, great at anti loop, great with pressure as a whole, has great perk synergy, has a high skill cap, isn’t add on dependent....
Yeah she’s a camper. Never met one who doesn’t camp and go all out to protect her hexes. It’s a great killer for a camper because they can hide behind just playing as she is designed, but in reality she appeals to the campiest of campers.

I love this game. I've been playing it seriously for about 2 years. I only have about 22 days on it, which to me is insanely high, but apparently not here. Lol.
My point is, there is so much whining in this community. Why don't we just play and adapt. Im 26 years old so maybeim just too old to get worked up about it. But it's a great game, sometimes they make changes i dont like. Oh well, its still the same game at it's core. Why do we have to see hundreds of threads asking for nerfs and buffs everyday?
Has there ever been a single day where no one has posted a salt thread on here?
I don't want this to turn into Siege where we're banning survivors and killers before matches. But honestly, that's the next logical step.
I like the trash talk, it's a part of this game. But let's stop the begging for it to be tailored to our exact liking.
Killer main. And contrary to popular opinion, i love facing SWF. It's sweeter when you win those. I almost wish there were a rematch button sometimes for those. Lol
I like you.

Firstly, hi and happy holidays, people.
Secondly, the reason for which I'm here: played with a killer who camped, we called them out in post-match chat, they said it was ok to camp because we "did 4 gens in 2 minutes".
The rant part of the post:
- I was playing with random people. I get a killer, Nurse, felt like she camped but I have a hard time judging when a nurse camps due to her blink power. Safe to say, she was always ready to jump in the unhooking area within 5 seconds. We only did 2 generators (will be important in a second).
- Moving on to the next match. This time, a Clown. The same person behind him though. Well, match starts, these new survivors that I got matched with and I are having a good match. We do a generator within a minute, move on to the second and someone gets hooked. I, having Kindred, can see that the killer is camping. So can the other survivors. Other 2 people try and get the rescue somehow, make an escape and we go onto generators again. Separate generators, I guess. At this point, I was doing one alone. I see one gen pop 5 seconds before I pop mine. Other 2 people were doing another one together, it seems, as the 4th gen of the match pops about 30 seconds later. At this point, someone gets hooked. Someone else. First hook. Killer camps. Me and other 2 survivors do the last gen together. It's done in no time. I go and open an exit gate so close to the killer that I had the heartbeat on (was faint though). Nothing. Killer stood and threw Aftertonics at the hooked survivor.
- Another thing that bothered me was that the killer said (in post-match chat) "easy", among other things. Honestly, if YOU see this, just because you hook 2 extra survivors (in endgame) who tried to save the one survivor you were camping, it doesn't mean it was easy. Me and the other survivor who tried the rescue could have just went out and you'd have been left staring at someone on a hook. Guessing that is easy to do though.
Now, killer mains, is there an unwritten rule about camping being ok when survivors are just good and do gens quickly? I was not aware.
Yes. If you do gens, the objective, it’s called gen rushing. This makes killers upset. The key is to start each match and wait 5-10 min before approaching a gen. This gives the killer time to check their totem, lay traps, etc.
Fir good measure, drop a few pallets or quick vault so the killer knows where you are and can tunnel you down before any gens are done. Then they won’t camp, unless they’re losing still and then they will camp. Good luck.

Actually it is bs because it takes away the killers add-ons as well. Survivors don't deserve built in coms that help them every step of the way either and practically grant them OoO without having to reveal themselves to the killer. I'll just be taking a break from killer until they implement the DC system and make this game fair for BOTH sides. Just because something doesn't go your way doesn't mean you have to quit. Think of the person on the other side, and if you were in there shoes and how you would feel. Killers hardly ever run mori's, because they don't get crap for BP's or pip. They run them because they want to see a kill instead of the saaaame 3 hook bs all the time. Get over it, and move on to the next match. Why ruin someone else's experience? We can go back and forth all night, but it will get us no where. I'm out and off to the fog. Happy hunting or surviving.
No they use Moris and noed because they aren’t good at game. They’re called crutch perks for a reason.
-
@ThisGuuy83 said:
I've tried playing 5 diff matches bringing a mori because I'm in the mood for a good old kill, and this is the result everytime. I hook 1 person, and then this happens... Is it a bug, or what?(PS4) If not, grow the hell up and stop quitting. I don't quit when you bring keys EVERY match. I'm tired of this survivor sided bs. They don't like the killer, they quit. They don't like the map, they quit. You bring a Mori, they quit. You start getting the upper hand because your a better player, they quit. Then they come here and whine until said killer gets beat down with the nerf bat because they simply got outplayed and it isn't fair to them. I'm sorry, but after tonight, I think I've lost all enjoyment in playing this game as a killer until we start getting a lil more love and respect. And surv mains, sharpen your claws and attack me all your want, but there's plenty more that feel the same and are hanging up there killing gloves. Without us killers, there is no game to play, so always keep that in mind. This is a damn shame. I love a good, competitive game, but playing killer now is like trying to juggle bowling balls while someone kicks you in the bean bag.
Survivors are just sick of try hard killers with op builds who must get a 4K or take game hostage. Consider the person who dcs jut had 5 games that all went the same. Campy tunneling killers with multiple hexes, who can’t comprehend the game can be fun for all players. They get to you, see the Mori and have just had enough. Boom, dc.
You should blame the game mechanics that have made the game so unfun people would rather quit and derank than bother.

🙄
Metrics demonstrate a consistent 2 survivors to every killer. You need 4 survivors for a game. Sometimes you see 3:1, but NEVER the inverse. Always, too many people want to play killer.
Over time the devs have consistently removed or nerfed the aspects that allow survivors to survive (vaults, pallets etc.), while buffing killers (bloodlust, more one-shot/instant find mechanics, end game hatch). Survivor mains did one of 2 things since release. Left the game or migrated to playing killer. The only survivor mains left are ‘new’ survivors who have no perspective or my favourite; killer mains that ‘play both sides equally’ -.-
Killer queues are longer despite the anecdotal subjective comments "I insta find games' I always see.
The game is biased in favor of killers and the metrics show it. No ones wants to play on the ‘losing’ side as a result.
Your point is mute.
100%. Stats show the games intensely killer favored. I don’t get what killers want? Is it to consistently 4K easy every game? That’s all I see.
-

Devs don't care about how frustrating the killer side is, they only care about the survivor mains as they surv mains buy skins, us true killer mains who know killer is the power role should just quit for 30 months. When survs can't get queues they'll make the killer side better.
Killer is supposed to be the power-role.
Oh lord. Another whiny killer main who wants easy 4K games like at ranks 15-20. Playing killer is easy and takes no real skill. I get you want it easy, but survivors have had to grind, and die a ton, to get to red ranks where they finally mastered how to give killers a run for the money. We can’t even hit back for gods sake. What more do you want?
how about gens that take 6 minutes. All survivors start in the wounded state and have 30 seconds to find help or are slugged. #########, maybe have survivors glow with giant beams showing where they are, with bowling balls tied to their feet. How does that sound? We could start the trials in a wheelchair perhaps. Would that be more fair?

Is it just me or weird that no matter what survivor you get, they just become a shell and have literally nothing to offer but "maybe" 4 perks? New killer pops out has some charge, teleport, one hit down ability, new survivor comes and has maybe 4 perks with the exclusion of bill who hijacked current unassigned perks and nothing. Why isn't some things locked to certain survivors like killers? Ghost face can mark then wham one hit, Mikey stalks and one hit a bunch of folks in a timer or even kill them to boot, etc etc.. That's stupid rad that killers have such amazing bases but then survivors? I buy ash and I got a shell who's big and loud and can't hide behind claudette to save his life. Literally nothing to offer so everyone runs to claudette etc to hide out. No speed boosts, no being better at a Gen or healing or literally anything. What am I missing here other than survivors are meant to be skill based pick your favorite shell and killers are skill based but change between and have some easily no skill needed features like tombstone Mike? Why can't claudette do some amazing wonder heal or ash have some ability to kick the killer back since he's literally a dead fighter or some picking hatch locks on a timer like gens etc?
?
The game isn’t balanced at all. The killers are all op on ranks outside red. You can be a rank 18 billy and get 4ks every game without breaking a sweat.
The big money makers for dbd are the licensed killers. They want those to be played and purchased. The game is designed to have 4 pawns for the killer to chase and kill, who cannot fight back or even run away for extended periods of time. Killers like it easy so they’ll defend this with vigor as seen in this post.
The game is very killer sided. Red ranks is only when survivors have gotten so good they can finally give the killer a hard time back. Killers don’t like this obviously
-
@PistolTimb said:
Most people will crap on you for this opinion, but you're really not wrong. I know, I know, "most swfs don't even try hard." What they don't say is that survivor is already piss easy as is, and adding in omnipresent voice communication is like giving an Eagle a jetpack.
Let’s see. Killers have
-faster speed, lunge, one hit down, moris, doors that regularly spawn next to each other, egc, hatch closing, stealth, invisibility, phasing, blinking, traps, etc. Yet it’s still too hard because you didn’t get an instant 4K?
survivors get to fix gens and hope not to get spotted and ran down. Maybe loop a bit or vault a few windows but you will likely go down sooner or later.
Every game I’ve played in the last few weeks has had camping, tunneling, franklins demise toting, lobby dodging killers who do nothing but try and ruin the experience for everyone else playing. Literally every game. EVERY game. You should have to work for your hike like a survivor works to escape.

Only bad nurses that were running 3 blink / ruin are affected by the nurse change she's still incredibly powerful, it's just lazy players refusing to actually learn killers, same goes for spirit. Legion was changed to do the ridiculousness of his power, wasn't punished for missing hits and was faster than survivors so all you had to do was wait for power to drain.
The biggest issues with this game is maps and the lack of skill killers posses, back when there was only 8 - 10 killers it's was easy to he average with all of them. Now there's so many killers people just want to win every match with little effort. Survivors objectives are always achieved the same way, each killer plays different so obviously it takes more time to be good with each killer than it does to be good with survivor. The issue is people don't want to get better with one killer they want to do well with every killer, it's ridiculous.
I agree 100%. The players today use perks and add ons to win and never learn the mechanics of playing the killer well. Then they cry and say survivors are op? Really?
-
@pemberley said:
* = Disclaimer before the swf defenders pile in to say that by itself I think swf is a great mode and people SHOULD be able to play with their friends BUT there is a HUGE difference between wanting to connect and play with friends and the mindset certain groups have of “hey gang, let’s try to make thIs killer miserable, ruin their fun, and rub it in their face for funsies.” And if you can’t see that, I question how you play the game.
I play on ps4 and ps4 has a built in party system so the number of swf groups are probably much more numerous than on pc. And boy howdy, they make it hard to enjoy/learn playing killer and even harder to play in larger doses (compared to survivor - which is oddly? a more relaxing walk in the park even as a solo.)
I am a low rank killer and I consistently face reds, purples and high greens as a yellow rank 16 killer - and mysteriously, the yellows and greys I get matched with definitely DO NOT play like yellows and greys. “But it’s a messed up matchmaker!” I hear the infamous cry, to which I say - maybe - but at which point do we stop to wonder if it’s wholly the matchmaker’s fault or MAYBE people are tired of this behavior and see little point in playing killer if they’re just the atmospheric piñata for survivors?
Last night, I was working on my killer challenges and I KID YOU NOT nearly every game had ttvs, yts, smurfs, and derankers and they were all HIGHLY coordinated with strong add ons and load outs and they banged out gens in record time before I had a chance to really do anything. It was exhausting. And ridiculous.
Killers are not afforded the relaxation, fluidity, and freedoms survivors are. You can’t make fun builds or experiment builds without anticipating getting your butt whooped (and not in the trial and error way either.) You’re in a constant state of alert and stress which I just find so ODD because that should be what the survivors feel but it’s NOT? The game itself even punishes Killers much more harshly for how they play vs survivor, which is SO EASY to rank up that surviving the trial is just gravy.
Are there unfair killer mechanics? Yes, and it sucks peanuts when you’re on the receiving end of such toxic behavior. But when survivors complain about certain things like noed and stuff - it makes me wonder if it ever occurs to them that maybe sometimes it might be a reaction to feeling powerless and wanting to take cathartic revenge on the survivors who didn’t play with respect? Although sometimes a jerk’s a jerk and they take pitiful joy in that for some sad reason (and if they play like a jerk, they’re probably a jerk everywhere else.)
TLDR - Killer needs to be more relaxing and enticing to play, and maybe if survivors want to sweat they should I don’t know, have to work hard for their survival?
I play swf but we aren’t toxic. Most of the games we get the killer is toxic and ruins everyone’s game with camping, tunneling, or a op build. We are rank 6-8, and the games been unfun now for weeks, to the point we are playing less and less.
I know there are rounds where you get bad swf groups but most of the toxicity I see, is from the killer mains honestly. I’m on ps4.

Both killers can put traps in clever places and kill survivors but I feel like Trapper executes it more better because an iridescent stone means you can place traps and leave them alone all game especially if someone disarms it. Hag is really good with her traps but in your against immersive survivors with flashlights then there's not much you can do. So yeah that's my thought. What do you guys think? Who is better and why?
Omg I picked hag only because I’m so sick of seeing the damn trapper. Every other game is the trapper and it’s so annoying. Tbf both are annoying. Hag is a long range camper that takes zero skill.

And I can say having played against him atleast 30 times I find that his power is way more Op than Hillbilly and Hillbilly is 1 of the best killers.
Buff means make him stronger. I think you mean nerf

Killer mains will always say he is balanced, which is isn’t. None of the killers are balanced. They are great for red ranks and decimate games in ranks 10-20. Oni is op and unfun to play with, which is why everyone dcs when oni is the killer.

Survivors hate ebony moris and killers can collapse games with them. There is no way to balance them without making them pointless so perhaps an offering or iridescent quality could be used to make a survivor immune to the effects of a mori? Rancor and Devour would be exceptions to the immunity.
It’s another crutch add on for unskilled killers. They’ll defend it by saying survivors have keys or swf, so it’s fair. Lol

There’s been some frustration around the forums about Hag, which has led *some* people in believing she needs some sort of nerf. (Mainly around trapped hooks).
I think it’s quite ludicrous in all honesty. I get it can be annoying for solo players, but there is still plenty of counter play. (I.e flashlights, just crouch.) I don’t see how you nerf trapped hooks without nerfing her power entirely (which would kill her and myself) or killing trapped hooks in general which would really hurt her.
So, back to the original question. Should she receive a nerf?
Maybe make it so she can’t place traps within a certain radius of a hooked person. I mean the hag is nothing more than a long range camper.

In my opinion I think the trapper is the most annoying because of sneaky trap placement and because sometimes the RNG of escaping from the bear traps can sometimes be awful. Going against the trapper constantly and falling into traps gets really frustrating and eventually boring. The clown is sometimes also annoying because the disorienting fog from the clowns tonic bottles really slows me down and throws me completely off usually resulting in me losing against the clown. Also many of the clowns I've went up against are either campers and try hard tunnelers that want you dead.
They can all be played annoyingly, but I find most wraiths, bubbas, ghost faces, and trappers tend to be the most toxic and annoying. They camp, tunnel, and love dirty builds that make the game miserable. It’s always those 4 for me.

Yes, every match IS supposed to be fun. There are people in the world who don't want others to have fun, and their version of fun are making others miserable. Some of those people play Dead by Daylight. You will know when you are with those people, and you will not have fun playing Dead By Daylight.
There are very few times in which I didnt have fun due to normal circumstances, it was usually due to a persons purposeful intent to ensure that I wanted to leave the match unhappy.
This game seems to attract those people. They like to make the game as unfun as possible. Says a lot about what they must be like in person.
