I do hope he is doing alright, I know he has said he is dealing with some mental issues, so I hope that he is doing that and that is why he hasn't posted any videos or streams lately. But the man is a class act, very non-toxic player, and overall a joy to watch and listen to. He has me in stitches cracking up during most of his YT videos. Any recommendations on another YTer or Streamer who is mostly fun but still knowledgeable in the game??
I love panda. I think he’s sick of dbd and burnt out. If you watch he latest videos you can tell he’s not into it as much. Plus winters hard on people who are struggling with mental health. I hope he comes back soon.

I’ve just bought the game today but I’ve seen the thread saying it’s the hardest game for a new player. I don’t mind grinding to earn things but if it’s going to be completely unplayable is there any point?
playing on PS4 btw.
It is a hard hard grind as survivor. As killer, not so much. By rank 15 I could get 4K most game with hag, and due to the wonderful matchmaking I’ve been up against rank 7-8 survivors the whole time. As survivor I’m rank 5 and still die a ton.
-
By the way, people saying there’s nothing in the game that is toxic are full of #########. Maybe the crouch was not designed to be toxic but people made it that way with teabagging. There’s plenty of ways to be toxic and many people exploit this. If you go in to annoy or piss people off, then you’re toxic. Period.
-
I’ve had a bunch run away then turn and run onwards to me a ton lately. That and going between hook and survivor. It never works and looks stupid.
-
When someone dcs, I just know I was better and got the last laugh. So I shrug it off.

For playing a while as a killer i noticed many abilities are just unfun to use and they are on the same lvl irritating as survivor having endless loop around 2 genereators.
Huntress- Hitboxes on hatchets are rly bad and when u try throw one its slows u down so if u hit that thin air on a side of wall well u getting #########. SO many times almost raged cuz of that hitboxes that i just put huntress ona bench.
Wraith- For god know why reason whenever u unstealth u stop almost in place, why ? hitting a bell and walking is to hard to put it together right ?
Spirit- fun ability in theory u have to be godskilled to use it properly and predict player movement like u would play 10k hours as well ppl go invisible for some reason what make u irritaded as ######### when u try look for scratches. And god if u dont play with pro heardset u are done u can forget u will hear anyone.
Nurse- Same as spirit super unfun ability that punish u for using it unless u spend milions of hours on game and u know exacly what distance u will go.Well if u dont u just jump once and getting stunned and then u hitting uninstal button. ppl have to lvl up nurse for one of best skills in game and i am sure most right now is just feeding her bloodpoints by playing other killers like me, i just couldnt stand this bs.
Some skills are OK-ish canibal and billy chainsaw's they fine if u dont count that 10h stun after hitting something mid skill, Pig pounce i can understand why that slow part is there.I dont have to much experience in game and thats why i decide to wrote this. Cuz i am new player and if u dont rly care of new player opinion then well as fast i started playing here i can end nothing holding me here especialy clunky unfun mechanics in skills.
So yes thats couple killers i played recently and how i feel about them if someone have other unfun killers skills to share plz write cuz i dont want step into another landmine.Thank u and i hope some devs see that.
I think it’s fun. I just started with hag and learning how to trick survivors into going into my traps has been engaging. I was bored as survivor. Maybe pick one killer and get good at it.

I'm not a toxic survivor. At least I don't think I am. I know how to loop well(I try juking but it barely works for me lol) I don't run extremely meta perks. I usually run Sprint Burst,Fixated,Resilience and Quick and Quiet. However I get messaged by the killer getting hate messages (PS4). Which makes me think am I doing something wrong or something toxic.
I usually play Claudette but not Blendette,I also play Kate,Steve,Dwight and Jake if it helps.
It’s obvious. I just had a match where there was an idiot David who had himself a flashlight. He sought me out by following me and clicking it repeatedly. I finally gave in and went after him, as soon as I got him on hook he dc. He was also teabagging behind every pallet dropped and trying to blind me. He was just there to piss people off
He did nothing to help the team. Toxic

Because of the discussion about this topic on another thread, I decided to open up this one here just for us to talk about it.
Let's talk about it and maybe try to come up with a solution that isn't just removing the addon from the game.
What's your thoughts about the iri heads? What would you suggest to make it more fair? Is there even a solution for this problem?
IMO I think the iri by itslef are not the problem, but the belts being used with it. Because of that I think making it so you actually carry 2 hatchets but you cannot use any belts with it could fix it, maybe. 1 Iri head is just not enough and 3 seems to be too much, so 2 could be the perfect spot??
Another thing that could be done is to make it so reduced the number of hatchets by 2, making it 3 by default but only the last hatchet put the survivor on dying state. So you would have to keep roaming around with 1 hatch all the time for insta-down or just use it on the opportunity comes in hand.
Please, this is a discussion to try to solve the iri heads for both sides. Survivors will have more counterplay against it and killers would still have a good iri-rarity addon on their hand, so be gentle and respect the others, please <3
They suck as a survivor and are pretty op. I play killer too and just wouldn’t use them as it’s such a gross advantage. They need to rework them so when huntress reloads, only one hatchet has the special head and player doesn’t know which one it is until it one hit downs someone. Having them all be one hit down is stupid broken.
-
I’ve rage quit before. I’m not proud of it and it’s always a snap decision usually due to a game going miserably bad for me. I’m usually being tunneled and camped to death and if already having a bad day, I’ll quit. Now, I haven’t in a while but I’ll admit to having done it.

For me they do as killer but as survivor feel like they take ages. I’m a newer killer player so I know it’s a matter of time until I figure this ######### out and as a beast.

Hex ruin

Sloppy butcher

Etc.
I'm a killer main and TBH I believe that based on objective completion, dbd is balanced,since killers have so many things at their disposal to slow the game down just a little bit
I think it’s new killers on ranks 10-20 who don’t have all the good perks yet. I’m a new killer player and find gens go fast but I know it’s a grind and soon enough I’ll be able to counter it once I level up more killers.
-
I think ruin needs a rework. Make it so the totem doesn’t glow or at the very least doesn’t spawn on the survivors forehead each time. That way you’d never know if you were cleansing the right totem abd would be a good chance for killers to mind game.

Here’s what I’ve gathered in my short time playing killer, and being a long time survivor main. As killer, it’s best to do what you want and ignore the handbook guide survivors created. Don’t be a tool, but do what you need to do to get kills as that is your objective. Don’t taunt or play unfair, but recognize survivors who lose will always be salty regardless, because they lost. There’s no tactic available in game at the moment that’s bannable outside of dcs, so screw what they threaten you with.
As survivor the games got a steep learning curve and long grind to get good. It’s frustrating and at ranks 15-20 there are a ton of toxic killers who face camp or tunnel as they don’t know how else to play. It can be very unfun and I get the frustration. I do encourage every survivor main to try killer for a week and vice versa. It helps to see the others point of view, which I think the community needs right now.
-
@InnCognito said:
I dont camp the hook at all and try to avoid tunneling. Infact I run powerhouse perks such as Enduring, Clown-Phobia, Spirit furry or bamboozYAH and thana. It is a good set of perks for chases and pallet loops. really a fun thing to do!
Haha my first killer I’ve leveled to teachable perks has Been hag so I don’t have any perks outside hers. I used to only play survivor so any shrine or blood points was used on survivor stuff. Looking back I wish I bought a few killer perks.

You can be called a camper for anything. There is no semi camping or proximity camping or any other bs term people use. Either the person camping or there not.
If the killer is patrolling gens they aren't camping. If the killer sees scratch marks at the hook most likely there is another survivor waiting to unhook if you stay that's not camping.
Some survivors will cry about this things saying it's camping it's not.
Okay that makes me feel better.

What the HELL is wrong with you randoms? I've had 4 games in a row now when I've been constantly being chased and they're all hiding.
Do a goddamn gen for god sake!!!
Why is everyone wanting to hide nowadays? Just do a gen whilst someone is constantly being chased.
My most recent game started off with me doing a single gen through Ruin against Oni. Me and the random Steve were constantly being chased and taking pressure off the others to the point where Steve died on his first hook because I was busy being chased and the other two hiding. I then go down to see both of the randoms hiding. I get saved by a Nea and then she Urban evades away. The Oni is now back on me, I go down again to see them STILL HIDING. Because nothing was gonna get done I let go during Struggle to then spectate and see that they both went down straight away to his Blood Fury.
Is anyone else having similar circumstances? I can't be the only one right?
They’re crap. That or their ranks 15-20. The matchmaking system is awful right now.

I just saw the Tofu's video of matchmaking and I am scared of it.
The playerbase wont grow up or just a little if the devs dont do something...
that made me thinking if they will let their game die. Let me explain quickly why: I was a Paragon player (a dead game wich Epic killed cuz Fornite) and last thing I remember was that they were making bad decisions and I really hope this game wont go in that way
Thoughts?
I don’t think so. Dbd is like Comcast. Lots of issues and they piss people off, but they’re the only option right now. There’s no other multiplayer horror game that’s any good at the moment, so it can’t die. Once something comes along that is better though, they’ll have a ######### time if they don’t sort their crap out.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
You can camp whenever you want. It's not always a good strategy, but it's never against the rules.
Camping becomes about the only thing a killer can do if all the gens are done. Once the exit gates are powered, if someone's on a hook, there's really no reason for the killer to walk away unless they want that survivor to be rescued.
Hag is basically made for camping hooks. With MYC it's even better.
Yeah I can’t wait to get myc. I’m coming off a survivor main career of 8 months here and just started killer a week ago. I started with hag for ruin, and just unlocked teachables today after work. Double blood points couldn’t come at a better time.
-
@The_Second_Coming said:
Strictly speaking, it's always okay to camp. Any time, any map, any killer. However, unless the gates are opened and unless the team of survivors is filled with dunce nerds, it will hurt you in the long run.
But as per the thread title - it's always okay. People don't like it, but it's always okay.
I agree. I’ve fallen prey to the killer types who get their first hook and stand there taunting while all gens get done.
I only tend to get campy at end game or with one gen left, especially if the survivors swarm the rescue.
-
@arslaN said:

Yes, I understand he's an M1 killer, dead that conversation, and before anyone asks, I'm a console player, and have been on a break from this game for about 3 weeks, until today.
My issue with Wraith, as I'm sure a lot of people are expecting, is the fact that his ability encourages players to play recklessly. By having no cooldown, a faster movement speed in cloak, and a speed boost when coming out of cloaking, a survivor cannot punish any mistakes the Wraith makes, especially when addons like Windstorm and Swift Hunt reduce the timers on the windows that we have, especially with the update back when Stranger Things came out, that gave his cloak undetectable.
Yes, I understand that killer needs to be overpowered to make the 1v4 fair, but I feel that there needs to be some give and take. Lowering his movespeed in cloak would be a good start, but if not that, it would be great if there was a cooldown associated with the wailing bell, to prevent killers from immediately cloaking after catching someone off guard so they can get another speed boost to hit them even faster. I dont want Wraith to be unfun, but I dont like that everyone is abusing the same techniques that arent possible to avoid on the console port of the game.
My issue with wraith is they all camp and play toxic. At least 9/10 do and it makes them annoying.

@Fog_King said:
I play both sides, but mostly survivor and I agree that playing only one side is missing out on the other. For example, when a new killer comes out, I usually play survivor until the hype goes down in the first few days and then try the new killer. I always see that I missed something just seeing that killer from the survivor's eyes and after trying it out, my experience as survivor also gets better.
Both sides can be frustrating, but killer seems to be far worse, because a lot of survivors are toxic. Like, you found someone, they drop a pallet and are already t-bagging. Why? They dropped a pallet in the first 10 seconds of being found and think they are good or something? Also waiting at the gates, when everyone is already there or dead is just annoying for the killer. Just leave and end the match.
I’ve tried to start just avoiding the open door if I know they’re all standing by exit. Then they get mad and start quick vaulting the closest window or pallet to get my attention.
I will say there was a meg doing this and she got cocky. She bit my trap and I knocked her down a foot from escaping. All her friends left so I hooked her and she died. Was very enjoyable for me.

Survivors can do a lot in 32 seconds and sitting there healing won't buy you enough time against many killers. I can see Self Care seeing niche use early game but during mid game a health state will not buy you the extra 16 seconds or perk slot. Late game Self Care is actually very good so I'll give you that much. Self care isn't worthless but it also isn't even A tier.
People acting like all survivors are gen grinding and performing optimally each game lol. Let’s be real, solo survivor is a gamble and many times you are only one doing ######### while the two p3 claudettes are in the bushes waiting for hatch.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
I'll use a medkit if I want to take a hit during chase. Adrenaline, Unbreakable, and Inner Strength all also get the job done, not to mention DH, IW, or Resilience. Self care might be efficient in theory but that's all it is, theory.
What if you’re last survivor and killers closed hatch. You’re injured so one hit down and need to try and get get a gate. The gates have obviously spawned next to each other because this is dbd. Self care gives you two hits and an extra shot in an already dismal situation. Saved my ass numerous times.

Each play style has its benefits and you don’t get to decide which is better. How about you do you and leave people the hell alone?
-
@Dwight_Fairfield said:
I have been a constant self care user since 2017. I don't want to be running around being a one shot target, and I don't want to waste time finding a team mate who then has to stop what they are doing to heal me. I like to be able to see to my own healing needs and not pull my team off their objectives if I can help it.
I also don't use self care at the expense of my team. For example if someone is hooked, and I know that nobody else can go for the save then I will go in injured rather than waste time healing before going in.
Yeah I’m the same way. These people getting fired up about it are sheep following what’s trendy, and an odd trend at that. How about they use the perks they want, and we do the same.
-
@Satsui said:
So there is a trend lately that Self Care is overrated, and that you better off not use it, pro players / over 9000 IQ entitled survivors don't use it blah blah blah.
Let me tell you something.
Self care is NOT overrated. It is very useful, and very good perk to have. It is NOT a waste of time.
People saying things like - "Self-care is a waste of time you could have worked on a gen! You could use bond instead! Boo-hoo I lost cause 3 Blendettes were self caring while I died!" Are looking at things in a narrow-minded way.
As someone who plays a lot of killer AND a survivor, I can tell you that survivors running around injured are GREAT for me when I play a killer. Not only it's easier to track them while they are injured, especially when they don't run iron will, it also cuts chases IMMENSELY.
Running around injured makes stealth game THAT much better for the killer. On normal circumstances, when you are not injured, if you try stealth (which is basically a high risk high reward tactic, since you let the killer get close instead of keeping distance), you might get hit and then you get a chase in which you can stall the killer depends where you are, how good at looping you are, mind games, available pallets, etc.
If you are already injured - and your stealth game fails, you get hit and thats that!
Chasing an injured survivor, assuming you didn't try stealth, is also easier against injured survivors, as its harder for the survivor to lose you due to blood and sounds.
I would wager that "wasting" 32 seconds to get healed can prove very beneficial for the team. That healing state, could save your team 30-60 seconds FOR EACH SURVIVOR TEAMMATE the killer is chasing you, netting in a great advantage for your team, thanks to that "wasted" 32 seconds you gained another health state.
Now for bond - it is a pretty silly argument. Bond is a nice perk, I agree. But you waste time finding another survivor, and then 2 survivors get occupied for 16 seconds to heal you up. Instead, you could have had self care, and healed up in 32 seconds, while in those 32 seconds that other survivor would have been doing a gen. There is literally no advantage, healing wise and efficiently-wise, running bond over self care. Nevermind the time wasted finding a survivor and running around vulnerable.
Bottom Line & TL;DR:
People arguing Self Care is overrated are clueless and are total nabs & need to git gud at brains. Also they are sheeple 🐑.
And I'm saying that jokingly but also in all seriousness. 😤
Also makes me wonder why there is the eggplant smiley on the forums lol. 🤣🍆
Exactly. As a solo player at times, I can’t rely on my teammates to heal me in a timely manner. Plus with killers like oni who feed on blood, it’s best not to roam about injured. I will always rock self care.
-
In my experience it’s always the flashlight toting Nea. Never fails, but Dwights a close second.
-
I was adding more but this site glitched and posted only two. I listed almost all of them. Lol. Hawkins is still the winner in my book.
Add others if you feel they have good spawn locations.
-
They need better hiding spots. The only few times I’ve really struggled to find the totem was on Springfield when it spawned in the middle of a group of pine trees in back corner, and in Hawkins when i was new and didn’t know about behind the barrels. I spent both those games looking for that damn hex and ended up dying.
also ormond has had a few tricky ones but the rest are laughably obvious.

Honestly I haven't seen so many high ranked survivors play so terribly and still can't do hex ruin skill checks jeez...
I recently came out of green ranks thinking right the reckage is over but no it just gets worse, but you know what that's what's making me a more knowledgable player and its teaching others...
It's teaching me how to run the Killer better it's teaching how to cope with people like these if they ever come back in the future and even trollers...
And its teaching the other players to just go for it, but once they finally realise that, matchmaking issues will be continuing but it's making us more Resilent players so when it's fixed we've got better knowledge of what to look out for...
Rank means nothing nowadays. You can get carried to purple ranks by swf who are better than you.

I am the only killer who feels sometimes with the survivors?
In my last match as example, on springwood, I was on my way to my fourth kill and then a Blendette tryd to put a pallet down, only to come on the wrong side out after it - the side where I have stay.
This and similar matches are sometimes matches were I would like to let people - or more people go, but then I remember, that I am the killer and my objective is to kill :|
Or, what would the other survivor think, who got no mercy at all?
Please don't tell me, that I am alone with thouse thougts, guys.
I am sure, some guys here have sometimes similar toughts, or made similar experiences, or I am wrong?
Ahm... and yes... Happy new year to everyone^^!
Not at all. It’s a healthier mentality than being a try hard who must get a 4K every game. I love the fun games where I can have fun as survivor or killer and people all seem to be enjoying the game. Might not win, but it’s more appealing to me.
I had a Jake last night who was clearly new and in a swf at ranks 9. I killed off everyone but him, as he kept getting stuck in corners. I let him do the last 3 gens and bust my totem, just for the practice. Then I let him go.

You don’t feel bad lol. You likely taunt the poor killer and teabag on your way out the gate. Just a hunch.
-
If someone dcs, or multiple people do, I will meme or farm with whoever did not dc. I’ll knock them down, let them do gens, do chases, etc so I get mad points and it wasn’t a waste of time. Survivors love it too and then I let them escape at the end. It’s not ideal but I don’t let dc people win or ruin my gaming.

Tbagging or that up and down crouch is to symbolize them placing their scrotum/balls on your face, like how you dip a teabag into a mug. That’s it’s origin in the most pg way I can put it lol.

Apart from bloodpoint offerings they're fairly useless. We've all had that game of "ooo I'll thicken the mist to make getting around the map easier" only to face a trapper or a hag. "Hey I'll burn some party streamers" then get found first and camped the entire match. That ######### wears on a person and eventually you just say screw it and don't burn anything.
Party streamers are cursed, I’m convinced. You burn those, you will die first.

They probably use their blood points to level up other characters without actually playing said character, so the main one they play has no offerings left. I know from experience.

I'm rank 4 solo queue only survivor and rank 1 or 2 killer. I've found as killer that survivors and maps go a long way towards dictating how the game will go. There are a lot of loops that are safe when the survivor loops them correctly, and you're going to get games where all 4 survivors know how to loop. Depending on which killer you're using, there may or may not be much you can do about it. BUT, and this is a big but, as solo survivor has taught me, many red rank survivors make baffling decisions in their looping and general game awareness. My general view of the game is this: optimal survivors>optimal killer, but you're only going to run into truly optimal survivors on comms about 30% to 40% of the time.
It’s def stressful as killer but now I want to keep at it and get good. I was bored as survivor, and so over the wait times for lobbies. Killer is a different animal and I’m reinvested in learning to “git gud”

I thought killer was insanely easy as a survivor main. I started playing killer and it’s stressful. There is a lot you have to do and I respect it more.
