I'm treating them like a crazy person because what they're saying is in the video isn't factually correct, they are completely ignoring the player's PoV (and anyway who states this), and they have heavily edited their comments to make opposing comments look bad.

I will not continue a discussion with someone like that.

    ---

You need to remember that the player did not know they were going to be free, they thought they were stuck in the falling animation after being unhooked. If you are stuck due a bug and you don't know how long you'll be stuck (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour), then disconnecting is definitely an option.

Yeah, I understand your point, I just prefer not to excuse the disconnecting behavior, regardless of if its justified, because each time you accept a justification, you make a new line in the sand. The game devs dont discriminate with their punishment for any reason, because if they accept one excuse, they have to accept that excuse every time, and then people start trying to make new excuses, and keep trying to push the boundaries of whats acceptable.

As a player, I dont like when my teammates disconnect because it makes the game harder on us(even having a bugged out 4th is better than them leaving, cause its an extra distraction for the killer), and as the killer, I lose out on potential points by having players leave. I guess the flip side to that would be that we as players need to discourage behavior that encourages disconnects, like mori spamming, hook camping, and hook farming.

That might just be me though. In this situation? I'd say you shouldn't leave the game regardless, but if you feel like you need to leave, do you, I guess.

  • I'm honestly surprised anyone takes you seriously when youre so dismissive of opposing opinions. Carpe gave a solid rebuttal, and youre treating them as if they're crazy, or stupid, for not agreeing with you.

You dont HAVE to disconnect when you bug out like this. Its not a requirement, so refuting that makes you wrong. Thats not an opinion, thats a fact. Whether you choose to dc or not is up to you, and you can reason it however you want, but as seen in the clip, it does get resolved, so a disconnect is not mandatory.

Yeah but your sample is flawed because I crash regularly and I've never submitted a report and I certainly don't go to dbd forums to try to get tech advice. So where am I represented in your little sample? I'm not, nor are the other people who have similar problems. You shouldn't draw conclusions based on bogus statistics. You have no idea what the real stats are, but just from the streamers I watched on twitch I've seen them crash quite a few times.

That doesn't really help your case, to be fairly honest. Neglecting to report bugs and crashes that, if they are caused by some coding errors in BHVR's work, means you're soiling the sample, not that the sample excludes you. Which is to say, the sample does include you, but you just chose not to participate.

If it isn't your specs, then you're neglecting to help ensure the quality of life for others by not reporting crashes, bugs, exploits, or other miscellaneous issues you've found in gameplay. If it is a matter of your specs, then whether you report it or not, it doesn't help the community, because it's a personal problem.

The best part? By admitting to this, you've dug yourself a deeper hole, that anyone who wanted to defend you cant really do so, because you admitted to actively avoiding the forums, and submitting reports, because you didn't want to go through the hassle. If you were lying, and this is a bait post, then you've succeeded in running us all along. If you're being honest, then you've just actively undone any goodwill anyone might have had, because it's not that you couldn't access the forum, you just avoided it, until the crashes caused bans, which inconvenienced you enough that you had to speak up.

Add onto that, your sample size is much smaller, because you're talking about "the streamers [you've] watched on twitch", which may be a handful of people, versus a forum that is available to nearly the full player-base. Your sample size, if true, also follows confirmation bias, meaning that by not providing examples of the streamers in question, you're not only expecting us to just trust you at your word (which seems to be a running theme), but you could also be taking your picks of evidence that confirms your previous statements, as opposed to just looking at the whole picture.

Anyway, I'm done responding to this thread, because from here on out, I'm sure most of the replies to you are going to be people actively trolling/mocking you for your post, telling you it's a problem with your specs, or doing any multitude of things that would qualify as confirming anything I've already stated in previous responses.

If you aren't able to play a game, you shouldn't be playing the game.

In sports, someone with an injury or in poor shape is going to hold their team back. So those players aren't allowed to play. Doesn't (shouldn't) mater who you are. If you are holding the team back, you either get better or get out.

In gaming, someone with a bad PC or poor internet is going to hold back their team. So those players should be treated the same way. You either do your part in having proper equipment like everyone else or you don't get to play.

Maybe money is better spent put into a better PC instead of a single game when you find yourself having problems playing PC games.

Fair enough. I like the sports analogy, and Ive made my case to them as well, but it just seems really harsh to say that sort of thing. We all know DBD is a game riddled with bugs, so we cant put all the blame on the player, but when it is frequent, I do agree that it usually is a system issue.

A lot of these fringe cases didnt become public until now, though, because they didnt have the bans in place until recently, so I understand the issue being more prevalent now, but again, the issue isn't one I understand, cause Im on an xbox.

  • @Majora said:

If you crash and abandon your team in many games you are ruining the game for four other people.

Even if you aren't lying, you deserve to be banned.

If the game crashes, hes not abandoning his team... thats the game just shutting down despite him doing nothing to prompt it. Why should they be banned for that if they're telling the truth?

Shards are free and acquired through playtime. I wonder why you estimate their value at $50.

They probably meant Auric Cells, to be fair. And if not, you could estimate the value of Shards based on the value of AC, by comparing prices of items you can get with both, find a 1$ value in shards based on those comparisons, and then calculate based on that.

I'm working on recording it. Give me time. I don't normally record any games. I have to figure out how to use OBS and stuff. I wanted to just play the game instead of being mocked on forums, doing support tickets and learning software.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088569#Comment_1088569

I'm on PC. Consoles are much easier to test against so I'm not surprised console players aren't crashing. On the other hand it's very costly to test for every possible PC configuration, so they don't.

I understand, man. I'm not attacking you, I'm just trying to give explanation, from my experience and perspective, as to why your complaints aren't taken seriously on the forums.

I play PC, and this has been an issue all along. The bullet points are my experiences. I've reported them in the past, as have others. If the game crashes, you get penalized as having DC'd, that is how it works. You get a time out penalty to go with it. It's BS, and I know darn well they can figure out if it was their side our mine, but they claimed they could not. If they can't, then they are seriously running some backwards crap, because even Everquest and their old servers can tell when it was them or you.

I play killer, and I don't DC because I don't want to lose my BP. So all the bs about blaming survivors is just that, bs. THe game treats crashing like DC, plain and simple.

Again, if that's your experience, record your gameplay, so you can prove it wasn't your end when you file a support ticket. You have a number of posts on this website, so I can at least have a foundation for trusting your word, however the OP does not. They have 5 posts on this site, and all 5 of them are part of this thread, which means they literally made their account to bellyache, and that makes it much harder to take their word for anything, especially with their claims of having 1500 hours on record, but having no evidence.

  • @fengsad said:

I guess I should have expected this treatment from certain elements of the dbd community. This is the same kind of mentality I see on end game chat much of the time "trash. git gud. ez. baby killer." etc. Nasty little kids picking on each other for no reason. Insulting someone doesn't make you better than them.

I'm not lying to you. You have no basis or right to assume that I am just because you have your own agenda with DC penalties. Believe whatever you want, but don't call me a liar when you don't even know me.

I never wrote that I had connection issues so why are you guys saying that? Everyone can read what I actually wrote. My game crashes regularly. That's what I wrote. I never said it's only recent. It's been that way for quite a while. When my game crashes I don't go on forums to complain about it. I just start the game up again and move on. A depip and bloodpoints isn't that big of a deal if you're playing as much as I am. You just try again.

The problem is I can't even play now. I'm being blocked by BHVR for their own bad code. And it adds insult to injury to be told I'm banned for something I did, when I haven't done anything wrong.

You're being dismissive. We have no basis to believe you're lying OR telling the truth, which is why the people who have suggested you take video recordings of your gameplay have done such. It would help your case, and put you in a better light for getting your situation fixed by developers, because they could actually see what's going on in your gameplay to cause the crashes.

People are able to assume many things from the fact you're saying your issues aren't only recent, because you claim you never complained before because it didn't bother you. I understand that the new penalty would cause it to be more frustrating, but after 1500 hours, you would think that someone who experiences crashes as regularly as you claim, that it's an issue, would have more evidence than just "You can't assume I'm a liar because you don't know me".

If it is a problem that you are having, you need to look at your own device, before pointing fingers.

WTH are you talking about?! Did you even read the posts?

    1. DCs now have a penalty (Very glad about that)
    2. The developers do not take game crashes into consideration. So, when you are playing, like I was last night with Trapper, and the game crashes, like it did to me as I was hooking the last survivor, then you not only lose your BP, but you get a 5 minute time out. Why on God's green earth would I DC as I'm hoking the 4th survivor for the win?!
    3. The horrendous servers have caused me to crash several times in the past few months. There have been complaints. Even when they tried the last DC penalty period. The game crashes and you get a penalty time out. That is pure BS.

Try to read and comprehend. The OP is mad that he is being penalized as DCing when the game crashes. He is not the only one. There are several, including killers.

I don't know where you pulled those bullet points, pal, but OP didn't even give examples of who they might be playing when the game crashes, in the original post. If that's your experience, maybe make a recording and try to recreate the same circumstances that happened during the crash in a private game.

My experience may be different from yours, as I play on XBOX, but I have only managed to crash the game once, and it was because I was trying to do one of those exploits that I saw in a youtube video, during a match of Kill Your Friends, and the game didn't react accordingly. At least, I can assume that's what caused the crash, because I didn't try it again, and the game ran perfectly fine afterwards.

  • I think that if there are two or three survivors off the hook, and you hook one, BW should disable the ability to unlock the hatch with a key, because being able to use a key to escape after Blood Warden procs would negate it's whole utility; however, if there is only one player left, and the hooked individual dies, the hatch should work as normal. 3/4 is still a pass, as long as you didn't facecamp, and lose long chases, iirc.

  • The idea of crafting in Dead By Daylight could be interesting, if done right, but from the way you describe it, it sounds really bad...

I feel like for perks, you could never implement that without a revolt and all survivor mains dropping the game, meaning there's nobody for the killers to hunt, and the game dies because the killers leave, too.

I think perhaps, if you could spend bloodpoints for it, you could combine x number of lesser quality items (example, 10 brown medkits) into 1 of the next quality (in this example, yellow). It would be a lot more convenient, since since purple quality items are rare, though I understand even that sort of thing could be sour to some, because... well, item rarity is a thing on purpose.

Also... There is a way to collect perks. It's called the blood web.

(In other words, if they turned perks into consumables that could be lost by losing, they would have to do it for both sides, and nobody would be happy with that outcome.)

  • I dont want to hate this idea so much, but...

As stated by others, if you let a survivor waste your time on a pallet long enough that the entity would "block" the pallet, you should probably have just kicked the pallet, or pretend to, and get them away from it.

If you spent as much time improving your play as you do on the forums, I feel you'd have a lot less to complain about.

  • It takes 80 seconds to complete a generator, and even less time if theyre running a toolbox. If it took them almost 2 minutes to complete the gens, that means they were either missing skillchecks or didnt find any generators for the first 30 seconds of the game.

I want matcha to last longer not to win more my problem isn’t the 4K it’s the time gens were completed in if the match lasted 10 minutes and I got zero kills I’d be fine with that it’s when gens can be done in 4:00 and you feel completely helpless that I have a problem with that

The expression "win more" doesnt literally mean you want to win more often. You still won the match, why does it matter that it was short? Just queue for another match. Generators take 80 seconds each, that means that 3 of the 4 survivors found gens about 20 to 30 seconds into the match, and passed every skillcheck. There are perks to make generators slower, and there are characters that allow you to play more aggressively. The Oni has to build up to his aggro, and if you leave them on the generators, and you dont know how to pressure them, that seems more like an issue of practice and learning than an issue of generator speeds. The new Ruin now combos with Surveillance, so if you absolutely need to, you can run those to see when someone goes on a regressing generator, and then pressure that gen, if youre not in a chase.

Ultimately, the very few people who have offered you tips and solutions, you have ignored, so it comes off more as an argument that your time is wasted if youre not winning a perfect game, as opposed to a genuine complaint that the game is too fast.

He's not complaining that he won. He's complaining that the experience was crappy and frustrating. Because it was.

Fun is subjective. You can't say he had fun or not. He's saying he didn't have fun and it was a frustrating experience. You're arguing that because he 4K'd, he cannot complain when he has every right to complain and you cannot say otherwise because you cannot say what he can or cannot find fun. This is an argument you cannot win.

I escape 90% of my games as survivor in 7 minutes or less and I find those games to be #########. Am I complaining that I won, too?

If he won the game, then clearly the issue is not the gen speed, as countless people have already suggested. The reason people dont want to hear this ccomplaint is that regardless of what OP's issue is with the actual match in question, it sounds like he just wants to win MORE.

If you arent enjoying yourself, you can always take a break from Dead By Daylight. If you feel that the speed at which they repair generators isnt fair, then there is room for discussion on that topic, sure, but disguising a "Win More" complaint as a topic of discussion is really slimy, and its probably why so many people take issue with this post.

  • I dont believe cosmetics are enough of an incentive. Loadouts would be interesting, but you would have to find some way to offer it to players without needing to grind for them. So maybe offer 4 or 5 loadout slots for players who dont prestige, and give them 1 more per prestige account wide? So for survivors, each loadout slot assigns the character you make the loadout with, as well as the cosmetics, perks, item/addons, and offering, which allows players to save certain builds they love to certain characters for free, sure, but then give another slot when they prestige as well as save the preset so that as they unlock the perks from that original loadout, they can use the build without having to re-make it, so to speak?

Im not a game designer, so I'm sure Im underestimating the difficulty of such a code, but it is an interesting idea, nonetheless.

  • Ill be honest, I was serious about what I was saying when i posted this, because I had just come out of several bad games in a row against Wraith, so I was on tilt and I was fed up of Wraith. I tried again today and realized I was just rusty, so I wasnt playing optimally, either. I still struggle to see the shimmer, but that could just be my screen isnt bright enough, or I'm just not paying enough attention.

I was sort of upset that I wasnt being taken seriously, but I kind of understand, at the same time, that I was throwing a tantrum like a child, so I apologize for being an idiot lol.

  • @JC316 said:

Don't touch my Wraith man....I don't care if he's low tier, he's a load of fun to play.

Im not saying make him less fun. I'm saying his power needs to be balanced. He gains a boost out of cloak, moves faster in cloak, has undetectable status, and no cooldown so if he whiffs the attack, and the survivor makes distance, he can just cloak and uncloak again.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

It seems too thought-out (not well-thought-out) and extensive to be a troll post. Imagine coming up with reasoning to nerf one of the weakest killers in the game.

Considering the oppressive amount of videos on youtube about Wraith being strong, by killers, I would say your belief that he's weak is definitely not well-grounded.

  • I may be experiencing a different perspective, since I play both killer and survivor on XBOX, but from what I can tell, there is an inherent idea among people who only play survivor that believes that certain killer perks is unfair. There are people on the killer side that believe certain perks are unfair that survivors use.

I play both sides, and I can tell from your post, since you've outright stated you only play killer, you dont understand certain aspects of gameplay, for the survivor. You should try playing as survivor with your room mate-- it might help give you a broader perspective on the issues you're having.

For example, when I only played survivor, I thought BBQ&Chili was horrendously OP. To the point where I thought it would be a game changer for me, and bought it in the shrine at the first opportunity I got. Once I started using it, I realized how underwhelming it was. The only perks I still have problems with, after playing both teams for some length of time (highest rank I've reached for Survivor/Killer is 2/8 respectively, so there is still some bias there), are Spirit Fury, and Franklin's Demise. Survivors have abundant counters to hex perks, crutch perks, and one-hit kills, as well as campers. Inversely, Killers also have those hexes, crutch perks, and one hit abilities to counteract gen rushing, extended loops, and pallet abuse.

But to be honest with you, as much as I hate getting looped for a gen or two, I find it hard to blame the people getting chased-- the game's objective has you looking for a generator, then holding a button for 80 seconds, with occasional checks to make sure you havent flatlined with a death grip on your mouse button.

Therefore, my advice to you, is to try to play both sides of the game. If you find that you dont enjoy survivor, at least you have that newfound perspective. But worst case scenario? Ignore the people who complain about something stupid. Its their fault for losing, after all.

  • Protection Hits: Exist

OP: can we get rid of this please

Literally Everyone Else: there is nothing wrong with this. here's how easy it is to fix that. *offers advice*

OP: but i dont like it so it shouldnt exist

    Okay.

Yes, trumping stealth abilities applies to the Undetectable status as well.

    Alright, thank you.

    @Acromio said:

It shouldn't. If it does, it's BS.

It's a perk to prevent campers from getting multiple kills. If you have a problem with it, you should try not camping, since the aura reading on Kindred only applies to the killer if they are within 8/12/16 meters of the hooked survivor.

  • For the sake of all that is holy, I do not want FNaF in my DBD.

A different pizza themed killer might be alright, but the only killer from fnaf I could see working is Springtrap, but he would essentially be an M1 killer, since he is not shown to have any special skills, aside cohersion. Then again, he only ever killed children, and for someone who looks like they're in charge, it wouldnt be hard to make kids follow your words.

You are blatantly disregarding what I have been saying the entire time. I dont care how its added up in the game. In game its added up by taking away 100 then adding back 50 but instantly.

In real life if sometime is 100 off aka price reduced to 0. You cant just increase that price back to 100% from 0 by multiplying.

Therefore description is inaccurate because it only reduces grunting to 0 if the opposite effect isnt applied.

It isn't multiplied. Or divided. Someone else already told you that. Additive percentages means you add a percentage based on the base value of the stat, not the implied value, which is what I've been saying. Youre making sales comparisons, when that isnt equivalent. Not even close. You aren't getting a discounted deal for something. You are running a perk in a video game. If you know how the math works, then this is a nonissue.

You're being stubborn, and you clearly didnt want a dialogue on the topic. Don't reply to me any further, because I don't want to lose my own time trying to comprehend why youre making such a simple mistake, and trying to claim yourself as logical. This is the farthest from logic I've ever seen an argument stray.

  • @Jejune said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/852003#Comment_852003

If you have 10 apples and the amount of apples get reduced by 100% how many apples do you have? 0 increase that number by any percentage it will remain 0.

If you have 10 apples and the amount of apples is increased by 50% how many apples do you have? 15, now reduce the amount of apples by 100% how many apples do you have? 0

I hope you understand that everybody understands how those percentages work in game. It's the description.

    Cheers.

You're still blatantly disregarding the point I already made. The math is all done at once, not in segments. Meaning they do not change the value of those 10 apples.

Your example is exactly how one can tell you arent paying attention.

If you start with ten apples, and someone offers you five, while someone else wants to buy all ten you currently possess, you will still be left with five apples.

In percentages, that equates to starting with 100%, being given 50% and having 100% taken at exactly the same time, leaving you with 50%.

You keep saying you understand the math, but you clearly dont because its been shown to you multiple times, and yet you refuse to acknowledge it. Its not an issue of descriptions, its an issue of needing to admit youre in the wrong.

  • @Jejune said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/851927#Comment_851927

Again the whole discussion is not about how it is applied in game which you did.

In real life when you hear sometime is 100% off that means it's free. That's it there nothing else to it everybody knows its you add the values. But the description implies that you will always be silent because it reduces noise by 100% logically (not in game) that means it doesnt matter how much you increase it at the end the noise will be 0 because you will reduce whatever number you have by 100%.

Thats a logical fallacy. You are rejecting Stridor from the equation, because Iron Will says 100% reduction.

For there to be a percentage, there must be a value. 100% of 150% is still just the 100%, which would leave you with 50%. The reason for this is because we are talking strictly in percentages, and because neither effect changes the base value.

Yes, Iron Will does say it will reduce noise from grunts of pain by 100%, but when you have 150% to rid yourself of, you still have 50% after dropping 100%.

The reason we keep making these comments and saying, relatively, the same thing, is because the argument made in the original post is both a non-issue, and a false equivalency. It is a non-issue because they "understand how the math works", according to other posts in this thread, which means that they know there's nothing wrong. It is a false equivalence because you are trying to equate 100% to 150%.

  • The argument that you cant draw something from nothing is moot. Ill try to put it differently than everyone else has, so that it registers in your head, but you're not grasping the situation.

Iron will reducing noise by 100% does reduce the noise by 100%. However the noise has a set value, X. Taking away 100% of X does not change the value of X. Which is why Stridor is able to reactivate sounds--- it increases noise by 50% of X.

    X-X+0.5X=0.5X

    X+0.5X-X =0.5X

The set value is not a percentile. It is simply easier to calculate the total noise by % of X remaining, because in doing so, they remove any cause or need for argument. Iron will doesnt mute the survivor, it "Reduces noise by 100%". If they wrote that it muted survivor, then there would be an issue, but they didn't.

  • Im hoping for a new exhaustion perk that lets you just completely shatter the killers jaw. Locks both you, and the killer, in an animation where you slug them with your fist (as opposed to your left baby toe). After the animation, they're stunned for 5/10/15 seconds, and your team gets to butt dance all around him. If multiple people run this perk, it can be chained for a total of 20/40/60 seconds, just to force a disconnect.

(This is sarcasm, though I would like to see a new Exhaustion perk, since all the old ones have been nerfed or made useless by dedi servers.)

Welp... time to just run adrenaline. Nothing else. Thats the only perk.

...I'm just gonna go play the game until I pass out and theres nothing to cry about anymore.

  • I have this crazy theory. The Oni is part of the Yamaoka bloodline, as everyone knows. So, his power will be.... pretty similar to Spirits.

Its boring, I know, but I feel like maybe it could be the same as the difference between Billy and Bubba. Multihit potential vs single target attack. So for example, when he comes out of invis, he does a horizontal sweep with his sword. No insta-down, but multi injure would be insane.

Well... its either that, or... I dunno, he gives the survivor a cookie? The trailer only just released, so I'm not quite on the train of theories, yet.

Except I am not because the person who unhooked me went into dying state the second I was unhooked. So I am 4 seconds ahead of him...

This 100%. There are too many ways that the killer can abuse DS out of the equation if it disables when someone else gets hooked. In these scenarios, he can still slug the DS player, before hooking the savior, too, which according to the suggestion, would disable Decisive Strike.

  • This is literally the third thread with the EXACT SAME SUGGESTION in the last 36 hours. DS doesnt need a nerf. There are so many scenarios where this is a very poor suggestion, and every time anyone suggests an alternative, they are ignored.

So for the third time, I will say my piece.

Instead of disabling on the next hook, it should stay up either for 60 seconds, or until you are healed into the Healthy state. Someone else already addressed WHY the original suggestion is an awful one, and I think as long as you arent running Adrenaline against a NOED killer when last gen finishes, this suggestion is perfect, since it would only really stump DS' end game potential, meaning people would stop running DS with Adrenaline, or they would work around the idea of using it early game, which also takes away any worry of getting hit with it during late-game/EGC.

Fixing the Maps would fix the problem. Haddonfield will still not be a Map where you want to be as Killer.

BL should stay like it is, but what could be possible would be that the Stagger Reduction only applies while healthy. This would remove some of the problematic areas if the Killer gets a Hit before (taking the Speed Boost from the Hit to run to the Myers House for example) and also give a reason to heal for BL-Users, which also wastes some time.

But overall: Map Fixes over crippling Perks.

I find myself seeing you everywhere on these forums, and i find it hard to disagree with your opinions.

That being said, making the BL passive apply only when healthy isnt a bad idea, especially versus the alternative. It rewards good survivors who can avoid getting hit by providing them more opportunity to avoid hits, while rewarding killers by taking away a survivor's crutch. As it is now, I find it hard to play against a BL with certain maps, but I didn't think "difficult to play against" warranted a nerf. I thought, like most games, "difficult to compete with" meant "get better".

The only issue I see with tying BL's passive to health state is that until Dedi servers go up (unless they already are, in which case idk), the output lag, clientside, to the killer could mean that the killer hits you, on his display, where you havent dropped from the ledge yet, but on your display, you already have, so you take a hit midair, the passive doesnt proc, and the killer gets a second hit almost for free because you got extra stagger.

I hate that I feel like I just mansplained the issue I see with this suggestion, but on a whole, I agree with what you said, I just find myself overanalysing the idea.

  • I find it sad that salty killers hate DS so bad, every time a thread is made that fails to get dev attention, they make a new thread to make the same complaints and ignore the same criticism.

I'll just make my same suggestions from last threat I saw making the same complaints. If you make DS disable on next hook, what happens if 2 people get unhooked at/around the same time? Who gets to keep their DS? Why do you, as a player who falls into their traps so often that you feel it warrants a nerf, get to decide these things?

My suggestion, in the previous thread by @yoi was to change DS to disable either after 60seconds, or when healed into the Healthy state. I am still of the opinion that DS does not need a nerf, because as someone who plays both currently at purple ranks (was red survivor before reset), I find that when I play against DS, it takes all of 20 seconds to re-down them. When I use DS, I only get to use it maybe once in every five or six games, unless I'm playing a niche build for BP (WGLF, DS, We'll Make It, Self Care/Adrenaline with a medkit for early/midgame), but since I'm on console, I notice they fall for the trick a bit more often than I've seen on PC (though to be fair, anyone on youtube generally cherry picks their content), so my opinion will likely be discarded, since I "dont know any better", just like in the last thread.

  • Trust me, survivors telling you how to play killer is the least of your worries. They're either mad cause they lost, or they're someone who plays both and noticed a few mistakes you made in play that let them escape. If its the former, you're fine. If it's the latter, you'd probably have better luck listening to the advice they give, since they probably dont have ill intents with telling you how to better yourself. As much as we want to win, as survivors, we also don't want to see our fellow killers suffering because of easy mistakes to make that survivors will exploit to hell and back.

Wrong there have been many times were iv got lucky in reds and purple.

On top of that ds needs nerf its broken in its state. 60 immunity is unfar.

ds should be anti tunnel the moment your unhook u should be going far away.

Ds should be made to to deactivate if iv hook someone. Its stop trolling from survivors and makes them run off so they cant stay around you and abuse it for 60sec.

So then im force to slug and in most cases that person will 9/10 always get revive and of scotch free.

To a degree, I agree with you. However, I do not agree that it should be only used as an anti tunnel perk. That isnt why it was introduced to the game. Calling it immunity isnt very fair, because you can still down them, and despite the fact the skill check is overwhelmingly easy, it's still possible to miss the check.

Despite that, you're talking about a very niche scenario in which two survivors misplayed and both got hooked within 60 seconds of one another, and while both were still on hooks, you got hit with DS by a THIRD person. This situation is so rarethat it was either planned, a huge coincidence, a lie, or an exaggeration of events. Not something worth nerfing a perk over.

I believe it doesnt need a nerf. However, if they wanted to nerf DS, they would make the check smaller, and/or make it deactivate on full heal, the same way Dead Hard does.

LMAO I was about to say the same.

When I use DS as a survivor I almost never get to use it because I rarely get downed within 60 secs. (I start to think most of the people complaining tunnel wether they want to admit it or not).

When I play killer, I rarely get stunned by it. At least not enough to consider it a problem, *shrugs*

I feel its also important to address and quote you, @MissBehavingX because I don't know how many people in this thread are survivor mains, but seeing as we both play both sides, I feel our voices are some of the quietest, in this thread (at least, it's treated that way by the OP and everyone who agreeswith them). I've personally never had a problem with DS, and I only use it when I have an escape challenge, or I'm using a really niche perk combo. Even when I have it equipped, the killers I face usually have no trouble getting me or others who use it downed again, less than 20 seconds later, and I normally dont even get the chance to use it in the first place. On top of that, when I play killer, it either never hits me, or I barely lose any time redowning the other player. so trust me when I say you aren't alone.

Ruin is hit or miss. 90% of the time it gets cleansed in 30 seconds.

Corrupt: Survivors can just play immersed

Thana is very negligible, it adds what? A few seconds.

Pop and Thrilling are the only good ones.

And don't EVER use Coulrophobia, no reason to use that trash perk.

Coulrophobia is pretty bad, on its own. If they buffed Thanat to do even a little bit more slowdown, though, you could make a whole build around it.

Thanat, Sloppy Butcher, Caulrophobia, and Nurse's Calling. Its probably the most trashtier build I've ever thought of, but Im sure it would work with/for the right killer/player.

Either way, the point of the list I'd made was that there are already several ways to slow down gen progress. They dont need to, and shouldn't, nerf gen speeds.

unless u get a huge map and the gens are near impossible to defend

Certain killers are really strong for defending sets of Generators. Playing doctor or clown, for example, and letting them do gens around the map while focusing on the 3 gens closest to one another, is a crazy strong strategy. Most survivors give up at that point and leave.

Basically, killers are able to force survivors to work on certain generators, or waste their time when they dont comply. For example:

Corrupt Intervention blocks the 3 gens furthest from the killer's spawn, which forces players who run Vigo's Shroud to suffer.

Thrilling Tremors lets you see what gens are being worked on for a period of time when you pick a survivor up, by blocking all gens that arent currently being progressed.

Hex: Ruin slows down progress, and in the lower tiers (15-20), can occasionally completely halt progress because all 4 survivors will hunt for the totem.

Pop Goes The Weasel will instantly knock 25% off the first generator you kick after hooking a survivor.

Thanatophobia slows all progression timers for each injured, downed, or hooked survivor, forcing them to play altruistic or be slowed down.

You have a ton of options. Unfortunately, all of these listed are teachables. If you own or play the killers I list below, you have access to these perks, and should stop neglecting them, if you have problems with Gen repair speed.

    The Hag (Hex:Ruin)

    The Nurse (Thanatophobia)

The Clown (Pop Goes The Weasel)

    The Ghostface (Thrilling Tremors)

    The Plague (Corrupt Intervention)

The Clown also has a perk called Coulrophobia, which combos pretty well with Thanatophobia, because it slows down healing speed when in the killer's terror radius.

Anyway, take your pick, any of these should help you.

    Ds is absolutes garbage.

And by garbage i mean stupidly op non anti-tunnel 100% safety for 60sec what a load of shite.

    Need a rework its overpreforming.

On a more serious note ds need adjusting because 60sec immunity to killer is broken not mention i could hook 2 people run into the ds person and he could still have it. Its absolute trash

If you are able to get 2 downs, hook both, and still get hit with DS by a third person, you're playing against really, REALLY bad survivors.

That, or you're exaggerating because you want the perk nerfed, which would eventually lead to other perks becoming the problem.

Wich situatuons? You never offered anyone, btw i never sayed Make the stun shorter, did You ever read My complain?. I'm Gonna try to think about one, farming in front of My fuc*ING face for example?...

I did, in my first reply to you. If you down 2 survivors and know that one has DS, all you have to do to disable it in your suggested fix is hook the other slug first.

Second scenario, someone literally just got unhooked while you were carrying another survivor. You hook the next person and DS is disabled less than 10 seconds after it was made available.

Third scenario, you have two people on hooks in basement, and one manages to save themself, and then the other person. You're either in a chase or camping and waiting for them to come upstairs. Say you down your next victim before they leave the basement. Once you hook them, you knock 2 people's perks out.

Next, I have a question you've yet to answer because you're being stubborn. In your suggested fix, youre essentially only letting one person have DS at a time. What happens if you have 2 on hooks and they both get saved? Does only 1 person get to keep DS? If so, who gets to keep their perk? Why do we as killers deserve a safety net when we're already winning? If not, what does it matter, because clearly you, as a REDRANKKILLERUWU, are playing well enough or they're making enough mistakes that you're able to win regardless of DS. If DS is enough for you to lose your #########, maybe you should take a break from the game. Clearly you're not enjoying yourself, and games are meant to be played for the fun of it.

Someone's already told you, that your version of the perk would be mainly used for preventing killer from regressing a gen during a chase, which is not what this perk is supposed to do.

You heavily underestimate the importance of aura reading. If killer (hillbilly for example) cannot see a gen`s aura, he is not likely to go there, because he sees the auras of other gens, while he cannot see the aura of the gen you are working on.

My suggestion would still leave some space for counterplay, but remember, that I only suggested a base concept, not the exact mechanic. Treat my idea as survivor's version of surveillance

Woah there buddy, you're mistaking that guy for the OP. While I agree with the sentiment, the hostility was unecessary.

Anyway, I was curious about your suggested alternative, and noticed you directly compared it to Surveillance. What would you say happens if the killer is running surveillance, and the survivors, running the reverse perk, work on a regressed gen? Would surveillance proc and negate the other perk? Would they neutralise each other and show nothing?

  • @yoi said:

as i said multiple times im not impressed how survivors see the perk thinking is just 5 seconds stun, it seems they never ever touched the "play as killer" option, i would like to see some brain cells being used while commenting, sadly you barely see it from a survivor main. for them everything was fine, and probably they think that purple keys and skeleton keys are fair and balanced aswell. im sure are the same people.

You aren't any better. Any argument you dont agree with is just some clueless peon in your eyes, but you aren't offering any counterarguments. You're just saying "no you're wrong use your brain".

DS should not be disabled by another survivor being hooked. There are so many situations where that would be incredibly unfair. If they shorten the stun, the killer gains back lost distance much too quickly. I take the DS when i play killer, and I still manage to down them again in less than 30 seconds. Even with killers Im less experienced with.

In short, you're offering an unrealistic solution to a non-issue, which leads me ti believe with 100% certainty that you arent a red-rank killer. Maybe a high purple, but thats about all I'd credit you for. Even console killers have learned to play around DS.

  • I like the idea of Cunning Getaway, but I think 9 seconds is too long. I think 4/5/6 would be sufficient, or it would have to cause broken because as a killer, information is your greatest ally, and if your information isnt updating in a timely manner, you're at an inherent disadvantage. At a 9 second duration, it would not only be META, but it would force killers to proxy or facecamp, at least on first hook.

the problem with having it disable when healed is that towards the later game a lot of survivors do not heal. they just finish gens and work towards adrenalin.

Yeah I'll concede that it becomes useless as a nerf in mid/late game, but its important to also note that since, on average, a gen takes 80 seconds, so before considering even the time it takes to get to the gen, theres a 20 second window where you can just scoop the survivor.

On the other hand, the nerf suggested by OP is bad for survivors in a much more unfair way. For example, if you have 2 slugs and you know one still has DS, you can instantly disable it by hooking the other slug. Of course, it isnt always going to be this scenario, but what are the limits on this? Are we suggesting only one DS is allowed to be up at a time? What if 2 people with DS get unhooked at the same time? When you make a suggestion this crazy, you have to be willing to concede certain things, and OP has continually displayed that they believe that anyone who doesn't agree is a troll or a rank 20 who doesn't know any better, and implied or directly stated that they dont know enough to argue with him. That alone is crazy, to me.

  • @yoi said:

Yep Survivor mains arrived With the no sense. Probably Brown survivors justifying why ds Is fine as it Is or without any brain cell remaining si they can't or they don't want to balance the game. I'm not impressed. I play both sides With 1.4 k hours and i Saw ds changing the game in My favour or to them many times that Is remarcable. Ds Is not antitunnel Is Anti momentum Is i'm playing good so you get punished for it. and cause of it the game Is an slug fest when shouldn't be. Things should be call for What they are. I'm not impressed of seeing 10 min of waiting to get a Survivor game and why i get a game as killer in 5 seconds Is actually very obvious the steam numbers speaks by themselves. Nothing else to add . Im not Gonna respond any childish comment just sense With facts. Otherwise don't lose your time. Specially when everyone Is saying the same to defend it and i already cover those points many comments ago. Anyway i highly doubht anything Is Gonna get changed as keys comodious toolbox all that Is fine aswell.

I was a red ranked survivor before reset, and a rank 8 killer. DS is does not need to be nerfed by having it disable when someone else gets hooked. If they run deerstalker, the killer can slug you and hook someone else before picking you up. That isn't fair either. Instead, if they were to make any adjustments, I would say they should keep the 60 second timer, and have it disable if you get healed to healthy. That way, you're still guaranteed the free hit, but you're not allowed to be reckless. The stun being 5 seconds is okay because the only way the survivor gets to make the max distance from you is by running in a straight line. Thats only 20m. You move at 4.6m/s on most killers, so if they keep running in a straight line, you will catch up to them much faster.

Besides that, I've gotta say: it seems you only want DS nerfed so you can "win more". You're already winning more than half your games, if youre in red ranks consistently. You really come off as the worst advocate for getting changes made, and I have trouble not reading your post as satire when your grammar is on the level of a seven year old child. If its cause you arent a native English speaker, I apologize, but if you are a native speaker, maybe try reading a book, yeah?
