You don't seem like you read the original post. The point being made had nothing to do with the amount of cosmetics being released.
Also, when has DBD ever had a New Year's event?
I read it. I just didn’t care about the topic. I mean who isn’t smart enough to try and blend in as best as possible as survivor? Seems like a no brainer.
-
It’s pretty op perk wise, but not nearly as boosted as something like no mither or slippery meat for survivors. Those are what we call “Game Ending Perks” because as killer, you simply can’t win against a good no mither/slippery meat combo.

This was definitely at red ranks. But I guess I'll just continue to hate every tine I hear a chainsaw for the first time in a match. Thanks for the input
Yeah I dunno what it is but that particular killer draws campers like flies to a turd in July. I just actually saw a p3 bubba at rank 5. Got his first down and camped until person died. Bubba ended match with 8,000 points and no pip.

You can’t nerf NoED and leave perks untouched such as: BT, Adrenaline, DS, etc.
I personally don’t care about the perks being nerfed. It is what it is.
Same with gen speeds because they already take a considerable amount of time to complete solo and if you get “gen-rushed” it’s mostly by an experienced team or SWF and you’re not pressuring enough.
What really needs to be fixed is the hit boxes and matchmaking. Freddy’s spaghetti fingers hit from 10 feet away (I have a clip) 😂 and Survivor matchmaking takes too long (Xbox)
All this “nerf” this and “buff” this talk is just from people that have had a bad match or two against whatever they’re talking about nerfing or buffing.
What people fail to realize is that if you suck at the game, either as killer or survivor, no nerfing or tweaking of anything I’d going to help you score an easy win, and that’s what everyone wants...an easy win.

Prologue: Experiment Results
Hello, a while ago I decided to experiment with the EGC and see the odds of survival as the last survivor attempting to escape.
My reasoning in doing this is to see whether or not the EGC is skewed too much in favor for the killer. With that said, I wanted the survival rate to be 25% since I felt like it was fair for both sides.
Results
Before I tell you the results, here are all of the rules players had to follow in my experiment:
- Vanilla gameplay, which means you can't equip any perks, items, or add-ons.
- The killer cannot use their power and they must be 115% (4.6m/s).
- The survivor can only leave through the Exit Gates, not through the hatch — unless they find a key.
This experiment was performed on XB1.Now, with that said, I want to stress the next part, these numbers are subject to change since I'm always expanding on the experiment with more games.
With 37 games, the survivor's odds of survival in the EGC is:
16%
Trends
- Most sacrifices where due to Exit Gates spawning on the same wall.
- Indoor maps are extremely survivor sided.
- Blackwater Swamp seems to be the most balanced EGC map, compared to other maps.
Epilogue
That's all I have to say for now, and if you want to discuss these results, I'm all for that!
I'll update the thread when more games have been added into the mix! 🤗😁
This is pretty cool and I hope the devs see this. Why they aren’t able to get their own data on something so important is beyond me, but you did awesome. I figured it would be a shockingly low percent, especially since the damn doors are always next to each other.

My personal opinion; most cosmetics are pay to lose as a survivor.
I have seen so many survivors putting colorful cosmetics, but honestly, you just make my job easier because you are so easy to find.
If you want to be stealthy,I suggest p3 Claudettes. They are either A. invisible on bushes or B. I need to see an opthalmologist.
And I doubt if it is the first one :D
They make money and distract players from the fact dedicated servers are 4 months late on console, matchmaking is busted, and they skipped the winter and new year events. So here’s an elf costume.....that’ll be 9.99.

Am I the only one who thinks a person whose pretty popular sucks in the game? I recently watched a whole livestream, then watched another one, also some gameplay videos and I saw no looping, cant't hit skillchecks on ruin and runs in one straight line. Little skill whatsoever... this isn't just to hate, I just do not understand why he plays this way when he has soooo many hours in the game. Can't say the name sadly.
Who cares? I worry about how I play. Also I watch certain streamers mainly due to their personality. Ohmwrecker for example, not a dbd champ by any means, but always makes me laugh without trying.
-
I think they need to nerf no mither. It’s a super dirty perk that makes playing killer impossible. I just had 3 David Kings in one match, all with no mither. Can you guess what happened? They all escaped because I couldn’t hear them or follow a blood trail.
Then they teabagged me at exit. I nearly went raging into the streets outside my house. Such a op, unfair perk.

DbD's killers are not deadly enough to have such a mechanic.
F13, which i believe to be the game you got the inspiration for this idea from, had a killer that was a lot deadlier than DbD's, since he could insta kill them uppon contact, therefore justifying the survivors ability to fight back.
in DbD, due to how long killer objectives take to be completed, this would be way too strong for survivors.
also, lets be real: this would only - and i mean ONLY - benefit toxic SWF groups whose one and only goal is to make a killer's life hell.
Really? I just played Friday and Jason got team killed pretty quick. Jason is massively underpowered vs dbd killers. I actually enjoy playing killer in dbd.
-
Keys take work and don’t usually work anyway. You have to have less gens to do than survivors, then find the hatch, while dodging killer. Feels bad as killer when they do escape with key, but that’s the game. Same as a Mori feels crap for survivors.
-
They love it. It’s there way of saying, look I won. I hid in tall grass wearing an outfit that blends perfectly. I’m so damn smart.
I allow it because they’re probs 12 year old kids.

@Ev13698324 said:
A while back they changed this so it was no longer a thing, then they added it back (accidentally I assume).
Now, it seems even worse than before, autoswing easily locking onto it and sometimes directly hitting a survivor will somehow hit the unhooked person, causing no damage and costing you the match.
Survivors have also figured out an unbeatable strategy, hiding within the hooked survivor. Once there, the killer cannot hit you, and if he tries, he'll hit the hooked survivor, allowing for an easy rescue during his cleaning animation.
I just want this to be removed already, so killers can no longer bm survivors, so autoswing can stop being annoying and so survivors can no longer abuse the mechanic.
I actually had a feng earlier crouch between hook and survivor on hook and I couldn’t hit her. I tried from all angles and it was annoying. I did manage to get her later and made sure she died for cheating.

Playing killer is not exceptionally hard. I admit I’ve not been to red ranks as killer but when I do play killer I always get at least two kills.

I was just wondering if spinechill is becoming part of the survivor meta. I ask this because I’ve started noticing in both killer and survivor games.
Yes with all the stealth killers becoming so popular, it’s sort a requirement. I never go without it now and it’s proven pretty valuable. The purple level is almost too strong as it shows killer is even remotely close.

~ [KILLER IDEA] - GLUTTONY
We all remember the story Hansel and Gretel, right? A witch with a glorious house made of and filled with sweets in which one can’t resist…that eats children. I believe a killer similar to this sadistic witch who enjoys feasting on innocent children would be a good addition to dead by daylight.
Her map would, of course, have her infamous delectable house made of sweets and gingerbread, but that’s not all. Possessing the ability to force downed survivors to eat certain drugged sweets, the killer would be able to keep them in her sight for a certain amount of time, permanent terror radius throughout the rest of the trial, and maybe more. The killer, however, can run out of these sweets. They may be able to restock, though, by retreating to a nearby vending machine or cotton candy machine…something of the sorts.
The killer’s mori might include; stuffing the survivor with sweets before dragging to a nearby boiling cauldron (which any map would spawn with presumably) to cook or ripping their jaw off, proceeding to decorate the corpse and/or mouth with sweets. The possibilities are endless. Upon the mention of cauldrons, if maps were to spawn with them, survivors may go to drink handfuls of the hot water to cease the affects of any candy they might have been force fed.
Of course, the killer would have an amazing look, as well. I picture an albino elderly woman with overgrown nails and a horrifying expression…maybe a face that would be made of icing, it hanging down as if dropping. Although very ugly, much like any stereotypical witch, the killer would (maybe) wear an outfit with rotting candy stitched or sewed onto it, having a sword made of candy to match. Perhaps candy cane or a large lollipop, who knows. Again, the possibilities for this killer’s look would be seemingly endless.
🍭Can you count how many times I mentioned candy? 🍭

You’re very right! As for Nea, however, I think she’s supposed to look like that? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe she was an edgy teen who had a knack for stealing and doing vandalism. She looks like the product of that, anyhow.
I know but it’s still funny. They made Dwight and David reasonable looking and female characters pretty homely. They all have very butch hair styles as well outside Kate.

I heard the console version was the worst about it. On pc, you can only talk to people in the pre and post game text chat. Unless you want to go through the effort of going to their steam profile and leaving a comment, but most smart players have them disabled.
I got one guy who was a survivor on my team. He died and started messaging me saying I didn’t do anything, and caused us to lose. I did the only two gens that got done solo, did 3 unhooks, and a bunch of heals. When I saw him briefly, he had three crows circling his head right before he got killed. Then when I turned off messages,he hit follow which sends my ps4 an alert. He did this 40-50 times over next half hour just to annoy me. Talk about a psycho.

How exactly was it op, there were no complaints about Enduring being "OP". All enduring did was reduce stun time by 50% max. This nerf essentially only made enduring useful for Enduring+Spirit fury only.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/964970#Comment_964970
Yeah Head on, should be the only exception to Enduring, if they made so it affects stun time on perks like DS.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/964967#Comment_964967
Wasn't it also nerfed because it essentially made the old stun for DS (which was 3 sec) 1.5 seconds, and wasn't effective at stopping tunneling. Currently, Enduring should be able to reduce the stun on DS.
Whoa. Settle down man. I think we can agree slippery meat and no mither are indeed op, correct?
-
Lullaby is very effective but takes so long to start being effective. Ruin is a slow down from the start. Lullaby always gets found and busted when I’ve tried to use it.
-
Depends on what side I’m playing. As killer I adore indoor maps. As survivor I hate them.
-
Slippery meat and no mither hands down. Way op, but I use them on survivor as its a sure win. As killer it drives me nuts

-
Okay I don’t get it. I play hag and albeit am only rank 12, but I do quite well as her. I’ve been getting matched with 7-8 rank survivors and am holding my own. I know people say hag is low tier but I’m enjoying her.
-
Did you see what perks those survivors were running by chance? Seriously though I don’t get it either. I had to turn off messaging on ps4 because of hate messages. I got them from killers, survivors, and even survivors when I was playing survivor. People get so heated in this game but the sore winner is the worst.
-
This game is addicting. People hate certain aspects but keep playing for those one or two games that are fun out of the 10 that sucked. That’s how it draws you in and keeps people playing.

Why do people care about rank so much? It genuinely confuses me.
I don't have fun at red ranks. Most killers at red ranks play to get the 4k and do it by any means necessary.
But to answer your question moris are more powerful. Simply because they are easier to pull off and have the potential to ruin the game for 4/5 people in the match and not just 1/5
I agree. I have 3 accounts on my ps4. Once I get ranks to 5-6, I change accounts until season ends because I refuse to do red ranks. First my buddies I play with can’t get past rank 9–10, despite us starting to play this at same time. Second because I like games that are fun and red ranks are not at all fun.

This was inspired by a recent Tru3 clip I watched where he wanted to start a discussion over Keys being better than Mori's. This must remain respectful, but I do want to hear everyone's opinion.
Tru states that he believes Keys are better since they allow two Survivors to escape when they have only done 3 gens. Additionally, they also nearly guarantee those two Survivor's a pip, while also (generally) forcing the Killer to black pip or de-pip.
As for Mori's he states that they usually force the Killer to black pip if you Mori everyone immediately.
Personally, I see what he is saying. In the game's ranking system, Keys will allow you to rank up faster. The game doesn't punish you for using them, it rewards you. With Mori's it does punish you, as you are usually getting rid of a lot of hook states.
Both end the game prematurely, but I think Mori's are better. They have the power to simply end the match. If you can find a weak Survivor, one that can't loop you for 3 gens, they lose. Keys have a little counterplay, you could take Franklin's, you could slug, you could tunnel the person with the Key.
What do you guys think? Again, keep this civil and respectful!
Take anything tru says with a grain of salt. He wants game to be killer sided and spends most of his days complaining about all things survivor related. Dude needs a break and to play something else for a bit.
If games going rough, they’re all “optimal swf” with dead hard. If he’s winning, the survivors are chill. Plus he’s always praising himself for being opinionated and a real rebel against what everyone else thinks. Dude does no wrong in his mind, which is classic narcissism at its finest. He’s also always acting bored and annoyed with the people he’s chatting with. Watch and look for the things I said, and you’ll see what mean. I can’t watch him anymore and I really wanted to like him.
Moris and keys are annoying for each side, but they’re rare. I think Mori is easier to use as keys take a lot of work and in my experience work only like 20% of time. Either can’t find hatch, someone dies too early, or killer tunnels one with key. It’s risky to bring in.

yeah I never knew maps used to be way darker and atmospheric and used a better shadow system that didn't look like actual defecation. I never knew claudette was the best survivor to play because I totally didn't see one in every single match pre darkness among us or maybe that one lunar event in 2017. maps should of stayed dark, that shouldn't be the problem, but a character which is 10x darker than the others shouldn't stay. the old graphics were way better, gave the game a more unique look, until that legion engine update which messed up both the graphics and audio. now it looks like an old ps2 or ugly ps3 game
Racist.

EndGameCollapse. is the worst thing on dbd. (rework that please)If the killer closes The hatch, you can't do anything, because he's going to camp the gates and you can't escape.
Huntress Hatchets hitboxes, oni's power hitboxes, spirit and freddy hitboxes need a review. freddy's hitboxes is larger than hillbilly hammer. the oni's power hit you trought the tree. huntress hatchets have a bad hitboxes, if the hatchet didn't hit you, it injuried you. review all hitboxes.
The killers are too fast i think. and the game now is too unbalanced. and a lot of survivors perk need some buff or rework.
I only have issue with the gates always spawning next to each other. It makes it impossible, especially against billy, spirit, and huntress. They should never spawn that close as it sucks as final survivor.

@Fibijean said:
There are lots of reasons. Occasionally there's some prior agreement in place, or they know the survivor(s) in question, but that's pretty rare. More often, it's just a matter of the killer's whims.
Some killers only play seriously for as long as it takes them to complete their challenge or daily, and then let any remaining survivors go.
Some killers take pity on survivors if one or more members of the team DC.
Some will take pity on a team of survivors, or whichever survivors are remaining, if they realise that they're obviously so far above the survivors in skill level that they could murder them all without breaking a sweat and there's absolutely no contest involved. Often, in this scenario, they assume that the matchmaking messed up or the survivors are new and could use a break.
Some killers will set out to kill certain survivors who are toxic or just really good, as either a matter of vengeance or a personal challenge, and then let the rest go.
Some actively avoid getting a 4k because they don't want to rank up too quickly, or at all.
And some have personal favourites or enemies among the survivor characters. So they might let Dwights go, for example, but make sure to sacrifice any Claudettes they see. This kind of bias can also extend to cosmetic combinations. For example, Elf Dwight is pretty much universally beloved, while Scoops Ahoy Steve has a reputation for toxic behaviour.
Everybody loves the elf. It’s been proven.

Gimmie the reasons you either prefer solo or prefer SWF. Personally, I love to play solo because I feel like it makes the game more challenging and is really the only way to play the game with a certain amount of "fear" still being involved. I have done SWFs a few times, but the people I played with were very skilled and it just usually turns into a mess for the Killer because he can't keep up with our communicated action. Still, there must be a reason to do SWFs besides you just get to play with your friends or is that simply the basis of it??
Anyhow, not looking for an ugliness, just trying to hear from the Survivors out there.
I do both. When I’m on lunch break I play solo because it’s only option. When I play at night it’s with two buddies and more fun. The issue is im rank 5 and they stay at 10-13 for some reason so I have to play solo to really rank up.
