Without the hatch there isn't that extra element that a killer has to account for.

It's needed.. unless you come up with a secondary method of escape.

yeah there is a secondary option its called gate number 2 and usually located 100 yards away from the first 1. Hatch is the third option and its unnecessary and its a cop out and instead of +bp it should be -bp . No gens no exit. period. thank you

You're not entitled to that 4tk kill, and if you want to remove the hatch then you'd better be prepared to go find that survivor since they're not coming out. Don't like it well get ready for 20-40 minutes games of trying to find them and those tracking perks like whispers, Spies from the Shadows, Myers/Pig/Wraith addons well those all go bye bye as well.

You think it's bad now trying to find an immersed player well it'll be 100x worse since everyone will start going with darkest offerings and characters.

Yeah, the thing is: why? Laziness? Or being happy for those who are getting banned and buy another copy?
At least we talk about this topic, maybe the devs change their mind and give us a way to do it safe (steam workshop for example)

It's about priorities and working on an icon thing which they've discussed is way down the list and thus they're not going to spend time, money and work on it. If it means so much to you and the others then pay them the money to hire someone to specifically work on it.

Since balance, and fixes etc are more important than you being able to change your icons.

  • >

These perks enable and in the case of DL even encourage toxic behaviour.

So a persons going to be toxic and they require a perk or perks to be toxic since when? When someone is toxic in COD they don't require items to run blindly at the enemy to keep getting killed.

In HOTS if someone wanted to grief their team they'd just suicide or let the other side take an objective. In OW, same thing, WOW same. If someone wants to be toxic they don't need an item to do it although in some cases it helps them do it better but it's not required.

In DBD you don't need an item, addon or perk to blow up a gen or to body block someone until the killer comes. You don't need an item, addon or perk to unhook someone right in front of the killer.

Modifying any game file, even those for changing perk icons is something that is done at your own risk. Whilst we are not actively hunting people who change their perk icons, if you do get banned by EAC, we will not unban you.

But what is the reason that you don't unban people who got false flagged?

Because they're not the ones that falsely flagged them and they've got no way of knowing that, which is why they've stated they won't overturn an EAC ban.

You've got to deal with EAC for falsely banning you just like if Steam bans you for something they catch you have to deal with them. Think of it like this, the cops where you live tell you while they know you're speeding across town in another jurisdiction.

But they won't punish you for it because they've not actively chasing you and thus don't catch you in the act. However if the other police department tickets you for speeding they won't intercede on your behalf nor will your traffic court judge overturn it.

If you think the cop who radar gunned you had a miscalibrated gun you have to challenge the ticket in the court of the one who nailed you.

Removing offerings would only fill the open bloodweb spots with addons or items, the net wouldnt suddenly get smaller because the pool of possible filler material shrank down.

Agreed and don't like the Brown common flashlight addons well get ready to get spammed with those along with medkits, toolboxes. The offerings that're there had some spice and choices to the game, you don't have to use them if you don't like them.

The devs won't do this without just making stuff more expensive in the bloodweb otherwise you'd have way too many addons. Basically you''d have a case of never really needing to buy anything and you'd have excess BP stockpiling up.

The grind is also there to keep you pushing forward since if it's just given to you then you'll get bored because you've already gotten everything. It's like real life you have to make choices on what you purchase and when and not throw money around.

I do have to apologize for being overbearing at times aka stern especially since sometimes my sarcasm/sense of humour doesn't translate well.

I was planning on wishing a festive holiday to everyone but closer to the week of the 25th.

Not really, I still pretty much only facecamp Decisive and tbaggers.

I've camped exactly 2x in my entire DBD time one was a sabo Jake that kept doing it on the other side of the wall from me and kept evading really well. He'd sabo hooks in front of me as well but the only hooks he went after were the Summer BBQ hooks.

So that earned him a hard Huntress camp and I did give him a chance by standing 10 feet from the hook but I held my hatchet armed, a David would rescue him but I tunneled him right back onto the hook. He dc'd once I downed him the 3rd time which was funny since they'd been popping gens left and right.

Postgame once I explained what he'd been doing his fellow survivors all told him off and said he deserved it for saboing the event hooks only.

The other time was someone that kept sandbagging their team mates the entire match and I'd finally caught on after getting suspicious.

  • As @EntityDispleased said they don't actively go looking for it but the devs have said that any and all EAC bans won't be overturned by them. Since you're modifying games files which is against the rules you're putting your account at risk.

  • I'm the same as @PigNRun vote up for agree, awesome for the funny/stuff I like as well and for the lol i use this.

  • Thanks and I wish everyone a happy holidays even those I disagree with but still respect for their passion to the game. I don't hold grudges for what's said on here and I enjoy the back and forth for the most part since in a sense it's just people blowing off steam.

It's better to be blowing off steam here then it is to blow up at someone in game where it's much more stressful and you can't really take the time to deal with it.

Here use this, I made it after they removed the Lol button.

  • I copy pasted this from another thread since it's still probably accurate for here.

It really depends on the time of day since before region lock removal rank 1 both sides was fine until about 2-3am PST. That time of day there was only about 20-30 survivors on and the same 5-7 killers.

Afterwards it's much better but there's still times of the day where one or both sides getting a lobby is a royal pain.

I do remember some commenters on here saying pre region lock removal that there was a huge imbalance of killers to survivors ratios for their areas. For one area it was like 70% or better all killers and the other region it was reversed.

Don't forget that it's the holidays now, most schools are out on break so a lot of people are travelling, visiting relatives etc. You've also got the new characters and RDR2 is out and lots of people are playing that along with Fallout76 etc.

Ok, tell me the nerfs to survivor in the last patch/update/chapter?
Or tell me when survivor needed to "adapt" to anything?

Why is it always about nerfs/buffs with you and others on both sides since if they do something to change things up it's always about me me me only.

As far as survivors adapting to anything I already mentioned it numerous times, the exhaustion nerf that went further than anyone expected, the healing changes. Then the reduced pallets, the changes to vaulting and looping spots, the map changes.

These are all things survivors had to adapt to but because it doesn't fit the killer nerf narrative you ignore those. The same is true for survivors ignoring things when killers have to adapt, there's people on both sides that only see things through personal biases.

  • @Wolf74 said:

    You are missing the point.
The complain is: survivor are still going strong, but this patch only killer got nerfed.
You just follow the same narrative over and over again "killer have to get better (as player)".
You claim that it is their lack of skill that they get "outplayed", but our PoV is "the survivor are way less skillfull than they think, because they get constantly protected by the Devs".
And even after yet some more nerfs to killer in general and some mediocre killer even got specific nerfs, you still want the killer-PLAYER to improve.
Your asking a boxer to improve his skill to not get a beat up after someone tied his laces together.

    Actually I'm not.

I know survivors are still to strong compared to killers and you only look at changes made as nerfs to killers.

I say killers need to adapt the same as I tell survivors complaining over changes, but I've also said there's buffs that need to happen. i've also suggested quite a few buffs to killers and nerfs to survivors some were really strong to the point of actually being too strong.

I claim it's their lack of skill because most often it is their lack of skill and instead of accepting that and learning they make excuses. when I 1st started playing I went up against a swf group as a level 4 Trapper against a level 8, 2 17's and an 18. I got looped on the Red Barn map of all places yet I still managed to hook everyone at least 1x including the level 8.

The game last a good 10 minutes and even though I didn't sacrifice anyone I got better as the match went on and i took what i learned into future matches. But what I didn't do is come to the forums and complain about how unfair things were or make excuses for everything.

I've also been maining killers the last 2 months but I also don't use the excuse that survivors are more skillful than they think. Some survivors are just plain bad and have gotten to the higher ranks due to how easy it is to pip. But the same is true for killers that don't belong at high ranks.

Both sides make excuses for their lack of skill but for killers it's more subtle because they can hide behind the power disparity. The survivors also aren't being protected by the devs or did the nerfs like exhaustion, healing pallets etc not happen?

Because if the devs were protecting survivors none of that would've happened, none of that would've even made it to the PTB let alone have even been discussed.

Again with the victimhood mantra, everything is viewed as a nerf if it doesn't directly buff the killers, they changed some stuff up to spice things up. The gameplay was getting stale and yours and the others responses are NERFS.

Would you prefer the gameplay to stay the exact same, meta always nothing new etc because if so then all the complaining killers have been doing. Like about DS/Hatch/meta survivor perks etc has been a huge troll job.

Then we get to the killer and it's the usual oh the killer is mediocre because I can't play it like normal killers thing. It's not Nurse/Billy tier so it's trash Freddy tier not that you don't play the killer properly or haven't fully learned it yet.

Why is it that the same usual crowd bashes every killer that comes out as mediocre and any change is always a nerf to killers and a buff to survivors?

That last part would've been accurate back when infinites existed on loops and sabo squads could clear the entire map permanently.

I'm simply asking people to play and stop making excuses for everything when a lot of times they could've simply played better. There's been enough videos on the forums from both sides making the usual excuses and then it turns out they screwed up quite often.

  • @Tsulan said:

I must have missed the survivor nerfs in the last patch.

I've had 1 match with someone saboing hooks or it was the new perk but generally saboing is only done during dailies. Well that and the the killer is most likely going to camp you and then afterwards apologize when they realize it was a sabo daily.

There is a difference whether you sabo a random hook on the other side of the map of a hook the killer is
trynig to hook his victim. AFter you denied me a hook this way, I will assume you will do so with every other hook and you can enjoy a nice slugging round

Sure, that might happen once every 2 billion games.

More often than that and i've had it happen when I'm killer as well playing Shape, M&A killers are also ones that have it happen But then I usually get rid of sabo dailies anyways.

Only problem with your logic is, that killers have to step up their game. While survivors just get everything effortlessly handed out.

Actually if the killers good the survivors have to step up their game since each game is different and if survivors just get everything effortlessly why are survivors getting nerfs instead of buffs that let them insta repair gens?

Can't hide behind a gen from BBQ? Devs got you covered.

So I'd have to run a perk that only works 3x, but if the devs got me covered how come the killer can still see me after those 3x are used? Oh i'll just hide in a locker, oh wait if the killer is running Iron Maiden I'm getting seen.

So where is the line? When comes the point where killers say no more?

I must have been pulling a Rip Van Winkle the last 8 months of killer buffs and only dreamt the cow tree got tweak, the exhaustion nerfs, the healing nerfs, the pallet removals, the maps being changed up.

I'm terrible at looping. But I still manage to loop killers for 3 gens. It's not like it's hard to begin with.

I'm terrible at looping as well but If I can loop a killer for multiple gens that means not only is the killer playing badly but that they were doing horribly so. IT could've been a baby killer doing their daily or someone playing a friends killer.

The bottom line is that's the killers fault for getting tunnel vision and not breaking off the chase and is no different than a survivor constantly going back to the same gen. This despite knowing the killer is watching that gen but ignoring one someplace else that's easier and better to do.

When you catch a survivor playing badly do you blame yourself or the devs for you catching them because they played badly? The simple answer is no because you know they were playing badly and thus deserved to get downed.

The same is true for a killer allowing themselves to get looped for that long, they either need to get better aka git gud or they can break the chase.

  • @Taretsu said:
No, healing survivors FROM dying state automatically wakes them up, that includes unbreakable. It's always been like that. And yeah, it sucks.

Well you'd think being in the dying state and being healed you'd be woken up since you wouldn't be dreaming at that point.

  • One thing to suggest is to make sure that after you uninstall do a restart to clean out anything still left in the cache. The other thing to ensure is your cpu/video card aren't overheating since those tend to mess with your nic card 1st.

You'll definitely want to check out your power options settings since a lot of times nic cards are lowest priority when there's an issue. For laptops if you're low on power that's the 1st thing the laptop kills off to save power.

WGLF is NOT about being the stealthy gen jockey, but the soldierboy with the "no one left behind" attitude.

The reason I say the stacks should be given for generator completion is that generators are Survivors' main objectives, just as hooking Survivors is the Killer's main objective and he is given tokens for that with BBQ. You see the parallel here?

Generator completion isn't suited thematically for WGLF, but the equal condition of both sides completing their main objectives is why I suggested they be given for generators. I'd be fine with tokens being awarded for reviving downed survivors too, or escaping a chase that lasts 15+ seconds maybe.

No. BBQ is about hooking (the killer objective) and WGLF is about unhooking (spoiling the killers objective).
    You see the parallel here?
We could also twist this around and say that killer should get stacks for kickin gens also. :P

That made me laugh when I remember all the long games where I max out on kicking gens, throw in double bp weekend and hello easy prestige.

    Yep you got a point.
There's always room for improvement but there is a cap level regardless. Some might not believe it's true but to certain extent there are. Yes I do want to improve is this killer because I actually like the idea of the new killer. If any of the killer that I actually have more experience with win or lose it is what it is but it sucks even when you try your best and it never seems to be good enough.

By the way this is mostly about survive with friend groups particularly for stacks any other number it doesn't really much matter but something just grinds the back of my spine when I have to face them because again I don't want to duck because it feels low and shady and you never get better unless you take a whooping.

    @George_Soros
Oh yes if a survive with friend group know that I'm playing this killer. They're going to split to every side of the dam map. There's nothing I can really do with my Powers unless I plan to just tunnel them down or get the first hit in.

Also I finally a barbecue and chili so hopefully I can have a bit more pressure but probably not

Oh I agree on the skill cap, sadly some here especially don't realize that and you can only improve so much in the end. But for most that improvement will be sufficient for how they play and with what.

With SWF the trick is learning to sue that against them since most swef groups are overly altruistic and will usually go for saves. Now even when you don't amp you can generally know when they're going to go for a save.

The 4 man swat teams are actually pretty rare and when you get one just try your best and sometimes you'll 4k them because you get a get cocky and arrogant group.

  • @George_Soros said:

You're so very idealistic, powerbats :)

To OP: if there's clearly no way to get at least some minor victory, just pick the most annoying one and camp/tunnel him. It's true that SWF are generally stronger than a group of soloes, and it's also true that Legion is particulary vulnerable to them. Somewhat disappointing to say this, but against SWF you MUST use a stronger killer. Unless you're mostly interested in BP. Legion is surprisingly good at that.

While I'm definitely idealistic I also try and look at things as a teaching moment and not the how can I place blame while absolving myself.

If you think you're going to lose you will lose, you'll make more mistakes, you'll get more frustrated and you'll become toxic. One feeds on the other and it'll keep on getting worse and worse to the point you become so angry you'll lash out.

You'll see toxicity where there is none or see some and become that which you despise and eventually you'll get banned.

I've been in matches with 4 legacy players and i knew it was going to be tough but I took that as a challenge and decided I'd have fun no matter what. I've gotten absolutely destroyed and got no one sacrificed and sometimes not even hooked.

But i've never once come to the forums and complained about it, I've laughed at my mistakes which were usually many. I've also 4kd those games because I took what i learned and applied it to other games. I've also had good laughs post game with most of the tough games and even gotten compliments on my game play.

Most of the games I got destroyed i've had laughs with the people I played against because I never tunneled or camped. I didn't smack anyone on the hook because I was frustrated, i just took it in stride and if someone was tea bagging or taunting me I didn't take the bait.

  • IF you go into a match expecting to lose then you'll lose either via them making better plays or you making a slew of bad ones. You don't like it when they get a flawless victory on their side but have no problems if you get a flawless victory on your side.

Do you see the dichotomy there, if you do good you feel good but if you do bad it's not fun and the same is true for their side.

When you do good look at the things you did right and the things you did wrong since even if you 4k you made mistakes. The same is true for when you lose, there's always room for improvement and admit your mistakes and learn from them.

The biggest mistake you can make is blaming your mistakes on something else or a perk or addon etc. If you played to the best of your ability and still lost you did the best you could. The same is true for the survivors who did their best but you still managed to beat them.

If your ruin and 5 gens up but you managed to get one down, take advantage of it, kill him so that you can have a better match with 3 people for the rest of the trial, camp.

These are the excuses I have heard from the killers. Killers who don't camp still don't camp. This patch didn't change anything for campers or tunnelers, didn't create 'more camping' killers.

These kind of threads where killers say that they are going to camp more because x happened doesn't change anything. Truly pointless.

If you're referring to me I've been maining killer the last few months if you're referring to someone else the same could be said for killers.

As far as explaining about camping given all the killers that complain on this very forum about gen rushing while they camp even at 5 gens.

If the killer is camping with the gates powered most survivors and those that play both sides accept it as totally legit. The same is true for those teabagging idiots that think they're cool right up until the moment you down them.

You can't complain about gen rush and then turn around and do exactly what gets you gen rushed especially after telling survivors to gen rush said camper.

Suiciding on the hook isn't mentioned because the devs know that'd be a really foolish thing to punish for considering all the reasons already mentioned.

How do you prove they did it on purpose, are you secretly recording them over their video cam? Are you going to run an illegal program to monitor their keystrokes or button mashing. Are you going to ask them after each death on hook why they died early?

Are you going to scan every killers game to make sure it wasn't something they did like lag switching, bad isp, or check each survivors connection and make sure it's good?

So we are gonna complain about offerings too? God how many L’s are we all taking!?!?!?!

Yeah some of the offerings suck. But it’s better than nothing in my opinion.

    How so?

In what way exactly do Offerings benefit the game?

For survivors and killers there's the bonus offerings to bp for categories say you've got a chase daily, well the boldness for survivors will help with that. Got a repair 3 total gens well objective offerings make that one great. If you've got heal/unhook ones well combine that with an Altruism offering and take wGLF and hit the BP jackpot.

If you're the killer and you get a sac daily well that sacrifice offering is sure nice, playing Trapper well use a Deviousness offering and wrack up that bonus bp.

Want the survivors to be separated well then use a shroud, want to be together use a shroud and start furthest away use a shroud. Want more chests, use that offering less chests use that one, more or less hooks well you get the picture.

  • This actually happens to several dailies occasionally where the progress either doesn't count or gets reset some. It's an annoyance for sure but i usually just get it done in the next game or games anyways since healing/gens both count.

So killers body blocking the hook was bad and unfair. But survivors body blocking the hook is good and fair.

    Got it!

That's a really bad deflection there and you know it so we'll break it down so it can't be fallacied again.

Fact: killers blocking the unhook prompt was an abuse of game mechanics and as such was fixed.

Fact: survivors body blocking the hook can be dealt with by hitting the the survivors thus putting them into the injured state and or downing them.

Fact: survivors couldn't injure the killer to make them move from blocking the unhook prompt and the killer could still swing at said survivors while doing this.

Fact: so one was bad and one still isn't because the killer has options whereas the survivors never did.

It took the devs 1 week to nerf Freddy. But it takes them over a year to buff him.

Yes because they were working on other things you know like balance issues, reducing pallets and safe vaulting spots, buffing killers, changing maps. But hey lets not do all that and instead focus on 1 killer that they want to get done right.

DS nerf was mentioned half a year ago and we still have no ETA.

Oh here we go again with the oh it's not out yet nonsense, it's almost as if they're trying to do it right. But hey why not throw something out there that doesn't work properly just to appease the vocal minority. The nerf to healing took awhile but it's worked out fine.

The exhaustion enrf took awhile as well and went further than what killers were asking for but hey it's worked out fine as well.

Bloodlust was supposed to activate faster to compensate for the speed nerf. But they only nerfed the speed to make chases more fun.

That's funny because if you had to depend on Bloodlust that meant you were playing a killer wrong and in fact they removed BL 3 which if you got it that high you were just plain bad.

Most killers aren't on the forums complaining over this because they never depended on it to begin with. It's still a work in progress and it's vastly overblown.

The excuses and deflections just coming from the same vocal minority on both sides, it's like you have to have something to complain about and blame.

So lets say they remove DS from the game, then what will your excuse be next that you'll blame for all your troubles. Before it was SB and now that that got fixed go figure a new bogeyman popped up to take it's place. Then it was healing, well that got hit as well and then after that the vocal minority found a new bogeyman to blame.

Both sides vocal minority just seem to want to complain and nitpick with every change a personal insult and nerf to them and their preferred role. The devs could buff killers to the max and the minority would still complain and make excuses.

The devs could nerf killers into the ground and yet the vocal minority of survivors would still complain and make excuses.

Survivors will keep asking for BBQ nerfs and because killers just keep on playing normal, they'll get more nerfs.

Face camping was removed with the introduction of swivel hooks. Survivors kept calling it face camping and the devs penalized staying close to the hook.
Survivors still complain about face camping. So what it's gonna be the next time? No hook progress when the killer is close? I've seen enough survivors asking for it. Yes it was tested and abused. But the devs will give in. They always do.

Yes lets keep up with the histrionics ehre that it's always the devs giving in and not making qol changes here. If it changes something for killers it's giving into survivors whining. If it changes something for survivors it's devs giving into survivors whining.

This is what I've been talking about making excuses both sides or conspiracy theories on both sides since everything is being done to screw their side over.

when killers could body block and prevent any type of unhook from happening it needed to be changed and you know it. Yet you blame survivors for whining about it instead of killers abusing a game mechanic. When Sabo squads could rob the killer of every hook on the map killers like you complained about it.

So the devs made a qol change on sabo but if we use your logic the devs CAVED into killers complaining and not making a qol change.

The hard camping around the hook needed to be changed to incentivize moving away from the hook, you got BBQ as such a thing and now your whining about being penalized. Well lets see you only get penalized on chaser emblem and only after a duration that to really hurt takes a while of camping.

For most killers it's not a big deal yet here you are blaming survivors for the few killers that camp because they're either jerks or they have no skill. Down someone at 5 gens and cmap them and then complain about gen rush.

So seriously just stop with the histrionics it makes you look foolish and you know for a FACT they won't stop hook progress just because someone's close. It's like you and the tiny minority on both sides have to constantly make excuses and drama and play the victim.

I don't see @Orion or @SovererignKing or quite a few of the others being drama queens on the killer side nor are they dropping conspiracy theories left and right or playing the victim. The games improved by leaps and and bounds but somehow it's magically still impossible for killers according to some on here.

Aw, so this is the new excuse.

You are aware that the mechanics of BBQ, right?

If you don't see an aura, there is supposed to be a survivor near.
With distortion, and lockers blocking BBQ, killers will likely get false results.

Kinda unfair to blame the killer for that.
Especially if someone other than Jeff is running Distortion.

So when killers didn't see an aura before the changes they assumed that either someone was really close or behind a gen.

So now some are just using this as an excuse to camp when nothing's really changed since for all you know they could be behind a gen or really close still.

As a killer it hasn't affected me a bit, I still check nearby if I don't see anyone then go off on my normal patrol routine. If anything this just makes some of the reckless survivors even more so since they think they're safer and unsafe unhooks are more common.

Throw in M&A and go off on patrol and laugh when they unhook right after you've left the hook, go back and find the unhooker and take them to town.

I've watched people with the new perks play stupidly because they think they're safer and they rush in for an unhook and the killer has barely had time to leave.

  • There's a minimum amount of hooks for each map with 16m between them and if there's not enough room for the minimum amount one will get placed closer.

The same holds true for pallet spawns sometimes they spawn really close together are you as survivors going to complain about your pallets being too close together?

What about when there's dead zones on the map for hooks or one gets sabo'd and that dead zone becomes really huge?
