I think the Pyramid Head "fix" will be reverted, because it is a known counterplay and limitation that has existed since the killer was released. Unfortunately it seems like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at BHVR these days.

Going up a tiny slope shouldn't be considered counterplay, unfortunately Pyramid Heads counterplay (like many other killers such as Slinger, Artists, Dredge.) Is quite literally just holding W and/or dodging.

Also not that it not going up slopes would create some really annoying bugs on the killer, such as him being borderline unplayable on Lerys since his power would weirdly get absorbed by some walls. (To my knowledge since this change it has been fixed)

I will disagree with that on nurse it's better to use "manual slowdown" as she is the showest killer and it's better to use blinks to chase the survivor.

And also wraith has a good combo with turn back the clock when using the meme add-on.

You still use your blinks to traverse the map, ex: Hook survivor > Teleport to gen > Power is on cool down so you kick gen > now that gen is kicked power is off of cool down and you chase survivor. This is why you see many Nurses running Eruption as it improves this gameplay loop significantly.

The Wraith build uses a meme add-on for a reason, it sucks. Yeah you can get a free injury after you hook a survivor but your actual chase power is severely hindered since you cannot create dead zones fast mid chase by kicking multiple pallets in a row, doing so would give the survivor immense distance.

  • Pop is extremely powerful on killers with consistent mobility, this is why on slower killers you want to be running "Passive Slowdown" (Pain Res, TBTC, Surge) while more "Manual Slowdown" perks are better on mobility killers such as Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Wraith, ect. Being really good at using perks like Oppression, Pop, Lay Waste, while yes the passive slowdown perks are very powerful, I personally think that gen kicking perks are significantly better on mobile killers.

it's very clunky, can't really micro adjust the aiming, it over-adjusts.

You can micro adjust the turning, however if you are looking right or left while sending out power it'll flick 45 degrees instantly.

They might be playing with random perks its not their choice to run the perk. There is challenges in tomes that randomizes them.

What tome is this? And is there a way to not finish the challenge so I can just have it active 24/7?

at the absolute very least, fix his targeting when the blade is in the ground.

His targeting? The power works great in my experience what's wrong with the aiming?

  • People will just slug until they down another survivor, or just do the optimal strategy of tunneling two survivors at once.

  • Pyramid Head doesn't need any buffs as long as you actually hit your power, you can pair Iri seal with rust colored egg remove any downside of the seal. There is already an add-on when charging power that also works great with the seal. I wouldn't mind Torment on hit though, as now that Judgment exists so should it.

I'm still decent with her these days but it felt like a nerf to me as it went from a simple 1 click while focused on chase or the area you are going - to having to hold a button, break your neck, look away from your target or area you are going, and delete one of your manually placed obstacles just to get the same effect. Its much more tedious.

    Tedious, but significantly better.

I don't think mmr plays a big role if so there won't be 1000+ winstreaks for killers

Many people (even in high mmr) simply cannot beat one of the best killer players in the game, the only people who can are the comp swfs who you do see get matched into the 1000+ winsteak killers. (Also note one wasn't "fixed" before those streaks.)

  • I recommend joining the DBD League Discord server its pretty fun and super sweaty, you can learn from other players how to get better and practice your own 1v1s and skills, against players better than you.

Also note: going from pubs to 1v1s or swfs every game is a pretty huge change and it will be pretty hard at the start but after some practice you'll get used to it.

  • @lovlor said:

It won't work because the dev themselves replied to some post in this forum "MMR and matchmaking are two different things". Even if you have high mmr you WILL queue into low mmr players because their goal is to reduce queue times not to pair you right.

Getting into a match is unfortunately first priority, but obviously MMR does still play a big role. Occasionally you will get back filled into lobbies outside of your skill levels and vice versa.

Even if, there is literally no reason to ask for an extreme skill floor on a killer with literally no skill ceiling. I keep hearing Skull Merchant mains actually agreeing on her having one scan line and it is the dumbest thing ever. Skull Merchant is allowed to be more accessible, not every killer has to have a Nurse level of skill floor. And honestly I think recall stealth is also harder to play around, especially for beginners.

I never agreed with one scan line, I just think stealth on recall was an amazing buff. (Despite the fact she's still terrible.)

  • @sadakomura65 said:

Couldnt agree more. I would even argue to say that if she got the second scanline and the stealth mode back, there would be no need for a rework. The problem back then was that she got random haste when a survivor on the other side of the map got scanned. And for god sake, I hope they do NOT listen to any of pixelbushes idea this time, the recall stealth was already horrible.

Recall stealth is significantly better as beforehand you weren't even stealthy as survivors would see the drone being placed and think "Oh they're right here." Now you can actually sneak up on survivors, trick them into thinking you're leaving mid chase, or force survivors off gens by thinking you are going to come to it by recalling the drone that was recently hacked.

  • Mmr needs time to even out so you will likely get matched against people significantly better or worse than you.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

Title. Yes a bit. PS5 here.

My Xbox games have been having random stutters where I literally cannot do anything for 2 seconds.

  • Just played against a p100 Billy with my friend (We both have 3k hours) and our teammates were both under 100 hours, I genuinely cannot wait for mmr to hopefully start working consistently.

  • I'm pretty sure they're looking into debloating survivors items an add-ons. Could be wrong though.

  • There was a recent MMR reset so you are likely to go against really good players, once it evens out in 2-3 weeks (my guess) you will likely start having easier games with people in your skill level. Also please remember that everyone thinks a killer is op for the first two weeks of release until people learn counterplay, same thing happened with Unknown, Jason, Lich, ect.

  • Boons actively help the killer, I love it when survivors have boons, flashlights, ect. Any time survivors spend not doing gens is amazing for me.

I believe that's all time playtime.
You might be in low MMR bracket, where will swing and miss a lot.

Post your killer stats perhaps, if you don't mind.

What will you say to those who can't go above 30% escape rate? That they should not be playing the game?

About the perks… the thing is that not everyone wants to play meta perks and if you don't equip them, you will suffer a lot.

Yeah not running meta perks on either side really hurts, I've been running Nemesis with only the perk Nemesis as of late and haven't had to sweat so hard while playing this game in ages. On the survivor side I've been only running meme builds simply because meta perks on survivor aren't fun to use. I'd rather use Mirrored Illusion + Technician so I can hide inside of my Illusion and be completely silent. The thing is, I don't think perks will get you very far I'll see people with 4 meta perks and still lose because they crutch off of their perks and don't learn the fundamentals.

  • I obviously do not develop Dead by Daylight but I am a game developer and here is my take:

Judgments initial power was going to be a hitscan beam, which is obviously overpowered in a game like Dead by Daylight so they changed it to an orbital ray which would be perfect.. If the Zealous curve didn't exist. Currently I genuinely love Judgment but she becomes terrible to play against, and unbelievable easy to play as once she becomes Zealous as her power just becomes free hits.

Aside from the fact that the Curve Window exists Judgment as a whole has a pretty great and rewarding design, her power (w/o Zealous) is hard to hit and in exchange you get a very powerful hook state being Exile. (Exiled survivors shouldn't spawn right next to the killer imo) Outside of Zealous Judgment is genuinely a pretty balanced killer, the power is dodge able at long ranged and close ranges.

This killer as a whole has a pretty great design imo, its just that the curve window is genuinely overpowered.

    @Piruluk said:

There is a Third Seal build going around now, prevents seeing Judgements statues, this killer even breaks the rule of blindness hiding killer items. So can easily cause teammates leaving you to die in exile. Again punishing SoloQ just for lolz

This should be fixed next patch as for some reason the statues are not considered "killer items"

  • What's the point in privating your profile anyways?

  • The game is only survivor sided against coordinated swfs which are few and far between.

  • Might as well try it.

  • If you cannot have fun in a game because of two characters, do you really like the game?

  • Artist should be here imo, going against a mediocre-good one feels terrible.

Aside from that, Spirit is a literal free injury every 9 seconds pair that with the fact that as long as you have average hearing skills she's super easy to play and easier to win with. Also there is a literal delay for when her counterplay activates, (Directional audio) which makes playing short loops impossible.

  • I have had fun & challenging games on killer, and fun games on survivor (me and my friends get one gen done every 5 minutes) so its going great for me so far.

  • I mean, Ghost Face is stealthier than Micheal by a lot..

  • There is individual MMR that is also mixed in with your regular MMR, my guess is you win enough on Pig that some of your lobbies on killers you don't play much end up with "High MMR" lobbies. Also remember most swfs are genuinely 3-4 friends who got back home from work, I tend to find them less sweaty than solo queue. (Unless its a death squad)

  • You can block them from reaching any resources guaranteeing a free hit.

Even if The Knight still has strong macro pressure although forcing Survivors to spend pallets is definitely value. My concern is that this change can make the trade too favorable for the Survivor.
Even without the 48m cancellation, a shorter pallet detour can burn a meaningful part of the Hunt timer while the Survivor gains distance. Then breaking that pallet afterward is another use of your power rather than converting the original Hunt into pressure.
So for me the bigger concern isn’t the 48m rule — it’s repeated short detours on pallet-heavy or indoor maps making Guards less reliable at actually pressuring Survivors.

Also this may be a skill issue on my end, however when I played against knight during the timeframe where his counterplay was removed it was incredibly hard to not get hit. Instead, now I waste more resources but I don't get guaranteed hits if I'm not directly next to a downed pallet, now I can drop a pallet instead of forcing myself to pre drop it before hand.

  • Knight is still in a good spot even after adding back counterplay.

    • Survivors waste more pallets
    • You break pallets remotely
    • Guards waste tons of time (Especially with Ruin)
    • Decent chase potential
    • Great map pressure

Also in case any Knight players didn't know this a little bonus tip being that as long as you aren't within 8 meters of your guard their 3x chase multiplier won't go up, so you can bodyblock doors and windows to force either you or your guard to get a free hit. Also remember to cancel your power if you don't hear any survivors.

  • A killer shouldn't be balanced around whether or not people want to play them. Hag for example functions a lot like Judgment, she is 4.4 and doesn't win solely based on chases yet many people myself included find her incredibly fun as she requires a lot more thought rather than "ooga booga instant break pallet."

This killer already has some pretty underrated chase potential especially with the recent curve window buffs. Just because people do not want to go through the effort of learning complex killers does not mean it should hurt the people who do want to go through the effort. It's a bit like complaining Nurse is too complex then asking for 4.6 Add-ons basekit.

Also note: sniping generators is genuinely not op at all its a 600-1000ms reaction time test

  • @Wezqu said:

Just minorly idiotic question do you happen to have cross-play turned off? That can cause you to have longer queues as you match making pool is only those that also have it off and what I have heard get you mainly only people who takes this game way too seriously specially on european servers. I think some youtuber just made a video about it.

You are also not going to get much interaction with your post if you claim everyone else is just gaslighting you if they don't agree with you or provide something that might contradict your point. In reality nobody here would care about something like that.

I'm pretty sure cross play is on for them, unless with the new ready up button they removed the indicator showing cross play was off.

Tbf, I believe some people do, I try to do that, trappers already getting a rework so there's no point in trying to suggest anything about that (unless I'm wrong) and SM is just really difficult to rework in general without making it bad or too good, personally, I think demo, ghost face and maybe huntress might need tweaks and changes

At most I think Huntress and Demo just need an add-on pass and MAYBE minor numbers buffs, I do not want them being touched in any other way I'm ngl. GF definitely needs a rework though.

  • I just want Exhaustion reduction to go back to 40% tbh. 4 second nerf in numbers isn't that bad though.

  • @Royval said:

Do you guys look at other killer designs that may need changes before your favorite killer? Trapper, Skull Merchant, Nemesis Add Ons, Wesker Add Ons?

This. Also Krasue is in an AMAZING spot she is one of the stronger A tier killers. She has so much:

    • 4.8 m/s
    • Third Person
    • Dash
    • Passive Slowdown
    • Anti-body blocking
    • Best slugger in the game
    • Great Add-ons
    • Cut-offs
    • Auto aim

Krasue is one of the strongest killers in the game, just because she is boring does not mean that she needs significant changes. If were reworking killers because they're objectively boring we might as well rework Hag, Xenomorph, Sadako, Dredge, Twins, ect. I personally find a few of these killers boring and the others quite fun just because I or others do not find them interesting doesn't mean that we should change the killers power entirely.

I mean look at Skully they wanted to turn her into a dash killer and the 5 people who play Skully wanted the rework reverted simply because it removes the original gameplay loop, Krasues gameplay loop is boring reworking it entirely would be against what the 6 Krasue players who actually like playing her would want.

  • Many streamers play on different servers so who knows, I noticed that American queue times are SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than European ones.

Edit: over the past few days of Judgment in US servers my queue times are 1-2 minutes so its likely related to how many people play on your server.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Not like in My Little Oni. How do you want to do that? You could have made a bad AI-video on an Indoor Map and see right away why it would not work.

My bad if thats the normal interaction (I don't see many knights being quite honest with you) but if its all well and normal why is it in the update section alongside another killer getting a straight buff? Not doubting you, its just weird they'd put it there.

Apparently I was wrong, according to another post this used to be a bug. (Which is what I was referring to) Then they fixed the bug, and added it back this patch.

  • I think keeping it at 40% was a good middle ground, then again it is only a 4 second nerf.

Yeah you could predrop pallets to make guards have a super long path, and stunning guards would just get you injured iirc. I think this change is to stop the Knight player from thinking the guard has a chance of hitting a survivor, instead they just return to the Knight which is pretty nice.

  • The guards always behaved like this to my knowledge I might be schizophrenic though who knows.

He would be still M1 killer who has to be looped and down people. In the end you will barely notice difference from survivor pov when on any outdoor map.

I mean even on outdoor maps there are plenty of spots where a Ghostface can appear right next to generators without being seen.. Its not that hard, it takes like 10 seconds to sneak up on a gen.

  • @Oputeev_Stas said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4113568#Comment_4113568

yep and there are no m1 killers already most of them got their power buffed, only m1 killer for me is Wraith and maybe SM but she can hinder survs with her drones even if it takes ages, can add to it some dash killers if more filler pallets can be chained but it's a rare scenarion, plus endfury perks exists which is busted in right hands

M1 killers is typically defined as not having a way to consistently injure/down with power so my personal list is:

    • Trapper
    • Wraith
    • (Old) Myers
    • Hag
    • Doctor
    • Freddy
    • Clown
    • Legion
    • Ghost Face
    • Pinhead
    • Sadako
    • Dredge

I'm pretty sure most people consider these m1 as they have to get downs with said m1s. Also just because a lot of these killers have gotten buffed a few times doesn't remove the fact that they're m1 based.

  • @Oputeev_Stas said:

even if there is a lot of pallets most of them are trash filler pallets which can easily be outplayed by killers (more easier for ping killers) especially by those with ranged attacks and who apply hindered which is gonna be even more stronger once they nuke Vigil again

Yeah, the pallet density changes literally only affects m1 killers, or killers who are bad at looping from what I've seen. A lot of killers actually benefit from it which is surprising. (Obviously less pallets benefits every killers but some are pretty good when being spammed with pallets for animation locks.)
