Then they would just lose pressure at a later stage.

It still allows all survivors on generators to stay on generators.

Yes, but for 1 if-statement added to the perk, you'd only have to avoid getting DS'ed 1 single time. If you managed to get anyone dead without getting DS'ed, further DS's will be significantly less impactful when there's only 3 people alive.

Yeah but that's a bif "IF". It would still be possible to use it with 4 survivors alive.

I think if non-obsessions can use an obsession perk, then obsession perks like Dying light and rancor should apply to the non-obsession too if they are using an obsession perk.

Dying light - 25% if the obsession dies, 10-15% if a non-obsession dies.

Rancor - exposed + kill on the obsession, exposed only on non-obsession.

Sure it would cripple STBFL but these 2 perks get massive buffs so it's worth it.

    It's only fair..
It would be awesome if Dying Light also stacked in this scenario. Hey, if you want to try to screw the killer with multiple ds be prepared to pay the price.

Every community is cancerous. Live with it I guess. Multiplayer games are full of toxicness but for me nothing beats the overwatch toxicity.
Yeah. After years of playing Overwatch I am officially putting that game to pasture.

I know dbd has a lot of flaws but guys, dbd is such a leg up from Overwatch. Symmetra was my favorite hero in Overwatch and the sheer toxicity you would get for playing her, how jerks would false report and Blizzy would actually side with them, was downright miserable.

Also at least the dbd devs actually seem to listen and they continually update dbd. Unlike Blizzy who condescend and demean players because they know best, and they give a handful of balance changes once in a great while that are completely unbalanced. And every resource clearly goes into the stupid owl and not the actual game.
  • If I'm running Rancor odds are I'm also running Remember Me so I've gotta beat down obsession as much as possible.
I’m sorry but I feel like those perks are at odds since you want the obsession to die with Remember me because they’re not affected, and even if you manage to get them that’s like 10 seconds lost on a dwindling clock.

Okay I know Jack the Ripper is like the boogeyman of horror and crime genres, but I’m sorry, I don’t think it would be appropriate to play Jack in a video game. Real women were butchered, Jack was a real life predator. It would be like if dbd decided to put Ted Bundy in the game - inappropriate, highly disrespectful to actual victims, and playing into our society’s creepy fixation on the scum of the earth who thrive on the notoriety instead of the lives they stole.

It’s okay to want a Victorian killer, it’s okay to be interested in how MESSED UP Victorian society was, but there is literally a whole library of fiction to work from that doesn’t dehumanize victims as little more than gore fodder.

There’s already a killer in game that is based on real life killers under a   pseudonym who had real victims.
Yeah, fictional. People want the actual Jack as a killer. Real life killers shouldn’t be used..:just feels scummy.
  • I don’t really care about 2018 Michael but getting Grandma Lori would be AWESOME. Ngl JLC had nice guns.

I find this counter intuitive. If the game is going to be more difficult, why not use stuff to even it out more? Would you really rather sit there and struggle thinking to yourself "I could do this with better add-ons"?

Ever brought an Ebony Mori to a 4-man SWF and everybody escaped? Sometimes you just feel that you have no chance of doing well so the difference is is between losing and losing playing "sweaty" which would feel even worse.

Not saying that can't happen, but you stood a much higher chance of winning with the mori than without. If not you're just doing it so you can use the excuse "well I didn't have any good gear" instead of manning up and taking the L.

Or maybe you realize there’s a good chance you’ll take the L anyway so save the purple and pinks because they don’t grow in bloodwebs that often and save yourself the extra added anxiety of trying to make sure those add ons and offerings didn’t go to waste.
  • Orion said:

Won't this just lead to killers going straight for the survivors who put up offerings?

I don’t think so, since theoretically they would not spawn next to them.

Even if they did, the survivor should still get the bp bonus. If they die in 5 minutes from hardcore camping and tunneling at least extra bp wouldn’t make you feel like you wasted the offering. Same with killers if survivors skadoosh out of the gates, at least extra bp from the event stuff they made use out of would be worth it (sometimes killers are the only ones who bring offerings too.)

  • I’m always afraid to use add ons against swf because I don’t want to use good stuff only for them to waste my time and then teabag at the gates. So now I lost my pride and my good add ons.

Some minor tidbits regarding the Shrine of Secrets:

-Surveillance is the oldest perk to have never shown up on the Shrine of Secrets
-Dance With Me Is the oldest Survivor Perk to have never shown up on the Shrine of Secrets
-Left Behind is the oldest perk to have never shown up more than once on the Shrine of Secrets
-Barbecue and Chili is the oldest Killer perk to have never shown up more than once on the Shrine of Secrets

I know for a fact Surveillance and Dance with Me have shown up multiple times. I have never seen bbq (although I got it now so it doesn’t matter) and I am almost positive basic perks like Left Behind never show up because they’re already available to everyone and not tied to a specific character.
  • This happens with me a lot especially when I run Deliverance.

But this game is far from killer sided, in fact survivors are still too strong and benefit from unfair map design and gameplay mechanics (4 gens can be done in 2 minutes, there is no possible way that is excusable.)
  • Wraiths camp, Pigs tunnel and will slug in endgame, Nurses are either trying desperately to do a challenge or they’re good and you’re gonna die, Doctors are competitive and will win through force or attrition, Michaels rely on Exposed, Huntresses will either try to mother you (friendly) or smother you, Clowns will hit you with his knife and bottles on hook, Legions and Spirits are most likely to be toxic.

I can’t think of other ps4 killer stereotypes at the moment. I play at rank 8-10 survivor and I have noticed face camping is only done by the toxic or frustrated at being taken on a survivor merry go round. At 15-20 it’s usually because they’re new.
  • His laugh is adorable. He tends to destroy swf’s will to live. I love his style. He and Freddy are My Bois.
  • Even if absolutely no items were brought in (rare - there’s always at least one) you bet a survivor is going to find a chest and take something. And that’s not even going into the games where survivors bring an extra chest offering. Or if they have chest perks like Pharmacy or the one that brings add ons.

Just deal with it and move on to the next game.
  • Clown and David are always challenging eac other in drinking competions, Clown always bellow with laughter when David passes out drunk.

Are we working with the theory or assumption that their backstories are fictional? Because I would like to think David would punch a serial killer, #########, and suggested pedophile and not party with one.
  • Powerful Strike

Once per match, the killer can hit a skill check that takes away a hook phase from one survivor.
  • Hex: Devour Expediency

2 gens completed - auras of survivors are shown
    3 - exposed
    5 - MORI

Destroying the hex gives a mini ruin effect on all remaining gens for 20/40/60 seconds.
  • He is paired with a demon that kills and attacks you in your sleep

so him looking extremely tired, who probably uses substances to stay awake, makes sense.
  • The Halloween trophies are dlc on ps4 and they don’t count.

The “where did they all go?” trophy is by far the hardest though because you need 3 other teammates to stay alive and jump in with you...the high coordination is just way too much when everything else you only needed to rely on yourself.

And that she doesn’t fit the typical dbd girl survivor mold. I want a badass grandma! Or a girl with a bit of a belly. Or a bookworm. Etc.

The guy survivors are pretty diverse meanwhile the girls are pretty, athletic, slender, and young.

    *throws shoe at killer*

    NO MUSIC!
  • So...you think stealth is bad play but it’s totally okay to sandbag someone? That is a crock of bull.

Newsflash: not everyone can run marathons and some people LIKE stealth and that’s okay. If you’re doing gens and finding totems etc and your strat is to keep out of the killer’s sight that’s okay. You’re the one being a bad player if you deliberately try to sandbag someone because they’re not running around with their head cut off.
  • Everybody said Freddy was Bad and the Worst so I saved him for last for leveling up, thinking he was a bad killer.

And I played him. And I loved him. He was the first character I got to 50, even before Doc. I loved his style, I loved how his add ons were creative and devious. I really like being invisible and then being able to see EVERYONE. And I am disabled so lock ons and not having to worry about precision was amazing to me.

The one huge flaw with him that flabbergasts me how anyone thought was okay is how experienced survivors just ignore Freddy when being put to sleep. They just keep breaking totems and chug gens and wake people up and literally body block Freddy from picking up a survivor being healed off the ground. Like excuse me? I am your worst nightmare, the only thing you should be able to do is run away, not gain 15% progress on a gen because I slept all 3 of you.

I also think Freddy is really fun trying to make different builds for. With Doc you pretty much have a set build to work with, but Freddy has a lot of different options.

I have been trying to look up Freddy tips, videos, and guides from people who actually play him and trying to learn.

Legion...eh. I personally like Trailer Legion best, but the power doesn’t feel good to me. I feel anxious trying to get a hit in and the camera makes me a little disoriented. I will stick to shocks, wall hacks, and evil within to catch my prey.
  • We don't doubt you man. I've seen many videos like these. Some people are just sad.

Record it with PS4's video record feature, send it to the support site and get them banned.
My share button on my controller didn’t work so I took a series of photos instead on my phone. Will that still work?

This survivor (I am on ps4 and I don’t know if the reports work, I have their name in case devs want to handle this) literally held my game hostage trying to get me to quit (and at the very least distracted) using an exploit by going on top of a rock on a hill I could not get to as killer.

“But Pemberley they probably were stuck in the map!”

Nope. If their taunts weren’t enough, I actually managed to hit them and they deliberately scooted further onto the rock to self care themselves. It wasn’t until I killed their buddy and they were the last ones I SOMEHOW managed to get to them. They are the only survivor I have ever taunted the hatch with, and repeatedly hit on the hook.

I have pictures. For some reason the post button hides when I upload them. I will try editing them in.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that survivors who act like this is why killers get extremely fed up.

Y'all don't have to take it out on those that don't.

Can you please not go Not All Survivors when I have a very legitimate complaint with documented evidence? I know not all survivors act like this, but this survivor did, and survivors like this are exemplary of what killers have problems with.
  • I thought Claudette was a healer too, which was why I chose her first. I also chose Nea second because I thought she was naturally more sneaky.

I didn’t realize until later survivors were basically just skins and didn’t really have special stats.
  • If I got the asylum map as much as I do Coldwind I would never have to worry about not getting hit. But because it’s a blue moon when I DO get Crotus, it feels near impossible. I have also leveled up all survivors to 35-40 and I NEVER get Crotus offerings.
  • I haaaate those sweat with friends swf. Absolutely miserable and genuinely the one true flaw with the game imo.

I have found a little success with a Remember Me/Noed/BBQ/You choose build. Your goal is to find your obsession and hit and down them, get them killed as soon as you reach 4-6 stacks; it doesn’t matter if gens keep popping because once your obsession is dead, not only are probably some other players injured but they will NOT escape, especially if you have Dying Light too. It doesn’t always work but for the most part I have been satisfied.
  • Really? I feel like David is by far the loudest. I can hear him a mile away even with an ear infection blocking some hearing.
  • Yeah, I have been getting Gas and Farm maps a lot - actually ever since I started playing.

For this event I would say it’s been mostly those, a couple in swamp, one in Lery’s, I only ever get asylum as killer which is highly annoying as I need the asylum trophy, and Haddonfield is almost as common as Gas and Farm. The Entity blessed me exactly 1 time and that was when I leveled Doc to 50, used an envelope so it wouldn’t be a useless bp dump later on, decided to use an iridescent and purple notes, and I got The Game. It was beautiful.
  • I don’t like to dodge because I don’t like to wait in lobbies either. I also think survivors should wear what they want. I like seeing nice skins and outfits. But there are things that because I have encountered very toxic play from, I get very wary of: bald Dwights are notorious (as killer and survivor - I don’t think I have encountered a single nice bald Dwight ever, they either sandbag or deliberately try to make killers miserable.)
  • I really hope the rework for Freddy doesn’t end up like Symmetra 3.0 in Overwatch aka completely gutting the character and basically telling the people who played her to screw off, removing any uniqueness and originality in favor of being a hybrid knock off that ends up performing, winning, and being picked worse and less than the previous iteration.

That horrendous rework is what drove me away slowly but surely from Overwatch.

But the few months I have played dbd it seems to me BHVR actually LISTENS to feedback and are actually involved with the community, so I have hope for the best and wish them luck that the rework will be what Freddy players hoped for.
  • I personally love how Freddy sees auras and his power doesn’t require precision, it’s very accessible for someone like me who is disabled.

I like your ideas, especially requiring a med kit as opposed to self care.

I only hope the rework doesn’t end up like Symmetra 3.0 in Overwatch...where they basically went “oh you play this character? Screw you. You liked their unique, original, and accessible style? Double screw you, enjoy this imposter that’s a knock off weaker hybrid of existing characters.”
  • The territorial imperative perk should be upgraded to where the killer can see anyone in the basement at any time. And have an effect that anyone who is not being carried or hooked/unhooked that enters the basement gets exposed.
  • I get tired of this “you shouldn’t need add-ons” argument. They’re available in abundance in the blood web, so why not use them. Heck even combining Uncommon & Common Blocks is extremely helpful.
Not really. Not only are you spending 9000 at least on perks that might not even show up in a level 50 web (in favor of claws and drawings and dresses and chains) but the difference between brown and green, yellow, and purple blocks is staggering - I have 22 brown blocks and only 4-9 of yellow, green, and purple.

    @DudeDelicious said:

Because you honestly shouldn't need addons to make your killer somewhat of a threat

Exactly. Not only this but this would allow Freddy to make genuine use out of other add ons and combos without risking losing the game because swf are quite literally exploiting a weakness that should not exist in the first place. Maybe finally double chains can actually have a decent worthwhile effect.

If this change happened Freddy would go from bottom to mid tier, which is acceptable. And Freddy would also become a killer that, without the devs directly touching gens, could slow the game down just a little bit. Toolbox rushers, beware! Freddy’s coming for you! Especially a Freddy with Franklin’s!
  • pemberley said:
Seriously why is this a thing? If Freddy sleeps you, you should run away from him. The transition, while not directly harmful to survivors, should still be something they need to take seriously because Freddy’s coming and you don’t want to be asleep again.

If Freddy sleeps someone totem breaking, waking someone up, opening a gate, doing a gen, healing someone etc. the action needs to stop until they actually enter the dream world (or in the case of waking up, finding an awake survivor or another gen.)

Freddy already must wait 7 default seconds before hitting or even grabbing, that’s enough advantage for survivors already; they don’t need to circumvent this by being able to stay on a gen, potentially completing it right in front of a helpless Freddy, or a survivor and keep Freddy in a loop of waking up and falling asleep or literally blocking him from being able to pick them up because apparently healing does that.

If this was changed, I think it would help Freddy without it being overbearing for survivors (if you don’t snap out of it in front of Doc, don’t wake up someone in front of Freddy) and take away some of the bull crap nonsense that singularly negatively affects Freddy.
As a Freddy main, firstly this is a rubbish thing to complain about when there are add-ons that can reduce the transition time. His power is insanely powerful/useful when used properly so there has to be some trade-offs so it’s still fair for survivors.
Secondly, Freddy is an awful character to run Hex Perks with. Seriously. Just don’t use them with Freddy. There are so MANY better perks that compliment Freddy than any of the Hex Perks.
You shouldn’t need add ons to pressure survivors to stop doing crap right in front of your own eyes. They already go into an idle animation when not running, it’s both misleading and unfair survivors can continue working on an action - especially when it can potentially complete it. And those add ons are neither cheap nor common.

I don’t run hexes with Freddy. Or pretty much any killer because I like having 4 perks survivors can’t destroy. The exception is noed and that’s only with certain combos.
  • The number one thing they need to do is make it so that if Freddy sleeps you, you immediately stop whatever action you’re doing - no more of that nonsense where cocky survivors will try to break a hex or complete a gen knowing Freddy has them in their sights. It’s literally not fair to Freddy and survivors have 7 default seconds to RUN AWAY LIKE THEY WOULD DO WITH ANY OTHER KILLER WHO WOULD NEVER GIVE THEM 7 SECONDS TO RUN IN THE FIRST PLACE.
  • The corn in the fog has killer kryptonite. I lose sight so easily. And unfortunately as survivor it’s so easy to stay still crouched like a rabbit right in front of the killer.

Rotten Fields means I will either win as a survivor if I play my cards right, or lose badly as a killer.

It is a little ironic the most evil maps in the game have Field in their title.
  • It happens with me but I just put it down to me being more or less startled going off simultaneously.

Now if you ask me, it’s intentional that if you have Deliverance you’re going to be next door neighbors with the killer.

    Lithe is basically sprint burst.
When in a chase you wanna go to a window/pallet anyways and that extra speed is really helpful, it's very underrated imo. It's not necessarily supposed to help you escape but it helps reach a different loop.
Plus combined with quick and quiet is pretty neat.
I think lithe would be good but it’s just so finnicky getting it to work, which can be life and death when you’re in the eye of the killer radius.
  • Zarathos said:
Its basic but important change that would make freddy not absolutly god awful at totem defense.
Not only that but it would actually match the idle animation Freddy sees AND survivors can already counter the transition by RUNNING AWAY LIKE EVERY OTHER KILLER THEY PLAY AGAINST.

  • I never dc as killer even when survivors are trying to get me to dc through their toxic behavior. Nor as a survivor when other survivors deliberately try to get me killed - I also enjoy moris when killers aren’t being toxic (rare compared to survivors.)

The only time I dced was when the power went out because of nasty snow and I personally take it as karma that the particularly nasty survivors I was playing with lost their lantern points.
  • Laakeri said:

Hatch has been freebie to survivors forever. I feel it needs to stay in game (or make it that doors get powered if the hatch closing comes) so survivors dont take the killer hostage, but make hatch to give 5k points instead of 7k.

    About DS:

Lets assume all 4 survivors have DS and catching up the survivor again takes you 20 seconds. That means 3 other survivors have 20 extra seconds on generators.

    20 sec x 3 = 60 seconds = 3/4th of a generator for each DS.
    3/4th of a generator x 4 equals 3 total generators completed when all 4 DS's are used.

    Seems balanced.

Actually I think the hatch should only give 3k. For emergencies only. Aka final survivor no gates open. Like it should be.

And I think ds would be more suitable if it had a strong prerequisite to match the strength of the perk. Like you NEED to be the obsession (removing 3 other surprise nintendos) AND have all generators up and running.
  • Buff Doc so tier 3 causes exhaustion. Make an add on where survivors experience any of the debuffs at any stage for 30 seconds.
  • Doc is pretty good imo. You just got to know when and where to shock. If pallet illusions were in his base kit he’d be even better without add ons. Imo his add ons just enhance his gameplay, which is still cool, but I personally really like how Freddy and Mikey Myers can change their style with them.
  • Killer points would go through the roof then and everyone would play killer causing the queue times to become 20 minutes long.
    Fair point.

    Freddy
Addons: Black box & Red paint brush (yes, both ultra rares)
    Perks:
    Remember Me
    Warden
    N.O.E.D
    Thanatophobia

Most of this is self explanatory, optimal at end-game when generators are active and dragging the game out a while. Getting all 6 tokens on "Remember Me" is strongly required as to assist with N.O.E.D. in which will block all survivors from the exit due to Warden, or if you already have a survivor hooked Thanatophobia will extend the time further to open the gate. Don't be afraid to kill anybody who is not the obsession and keep an eye on the escape hatch as it is practically the only way to sanely escape.

I love Remember Me & Blood Warden. They’re fantastic perks, even without NOED.
I think NOED is always a risky perk. Could get to the end game and find the survivors have already found and cleansed all 5 totems before the last repair.
Imo noed is a much safer and effective perk than Ruin because Ruin gets immediately hunted and destroyed (sometimes even before you stroll over there) whereas most times at least one totem remains for noed. I can’t tell you how many times I was destroying totems but it turns out I was the only one suspecting a noed. Just don’t use noed with Ruin or Thrill because then usually people get wary.
  • Distressing on Doc is a must for me.

I got the tier 3 bbq on Freddy for the first time and I just love that perk for the bp - would seriously use it on everyone (especially Doc) if they had it.

I really like surveillance and overcharge though as bread and butter perks though. Slow the gens down and win or get bp (win still in my book) by attrition.
  • BO0ON said:

You mean -did the killer have fun?- but OK, Lets say that. Now, we all know that all killers carry more than one perk, so if Nurse's Calling fails, I am sure Whispers and BBQ n Chili is in use to save y'alls day as well as Ruin to prolong and so forth. We too have to hope that what we bring(if any do) can bring us to an escape and only hope there isn't any Franklin's Demise or Light Born.

    @Laakeri said:
    BO0ON said:

But why have items and add ons in the game in general then? They are there to be used not avoided. I would say those "powerful" add ons/item come in handy when killers tunnel and such. lol

    @Laakeri said:

There are really powerful addons to both medkit and toolbox that can heavily inpact in games result. Hence why I dont use items when I play survivor to not get dodged.

Items and offerings should be fun and have small inpact, not to make playing other side miserable. This applies to both sides.

Well lets say you bring medkit and so does 3 of your team mates. Killer then decides to play 5 blink Nurse to play against 4 potential insta meds. Did anyone have fun in the end? I dont think so.

Even when I play survivor and see 3 other survivors using toolboxes or medkits I dodge the survivors as from the experience of dealing with insta meds and gen rush toolboxes killer will most likely use addons that I wont have fun time to play against.

Um...killers only have 4 perk slots and they can’t choose everything to combat everything. Meanwhile survivors have 4 perks that can easily enhance their survival AND equipment that does the same as well as make up for any of their load out weaknesses - and that’s not even going into teamwork. And speaking of Ruin (which imo is more trouble than its worth because survivors nullify it easily) survivors have no perks for which the killer can eliminate and basically force them to use 3 or less.

And not to mention killers can’t really counter survivor perks - not really and truly - meanwhile survivors have several resources to not only fully counter killer perks but killers themselves. It could be a different story if Nurse’s had unlimited range or Sloppy Butcher also had an exhaustion effect etc. but the truth is killers can’t really counter survivors and even if they try they’re opening themselves to weaknesses in one area or another because they only have 4 perk slots and only the pink and purple add ons (aka expensive, immediately destroyed without a black ward) actually are on a gamechanging level with survivors who have full perks and items (which bt dubs also have add ons AND they don’t need a white ward to keep them.)
  • Too many dodgers.

Too many derankers knowing full well they’re not playing in their own league.
  • You have to look at it from the killer’s pov and understand multiple toolboxes equals gen rush, flashlights equals getting blinded at pallets, and health kits are either instant or you’re in for a chase while their buddies gen rush.

Meaning they don’t want to deal with the suspected toxicity. And I don’t blame them.

Fix the survivor crutches and abuses like gen rush and flashlighting a pallet and maybe killers won’t lobby dodge a lobby they think will only waste their time.
