Everything he said was true from what I've experienced.

Since the Devs are adding more offerings, giving killers better incentive to play killer and hopefully reducing que times. I think i was proven right but he won't admit it.

Almost, now we just need them to make survivors unhook and work on gens again!

Oh and most importantly to STOP SANDBAGGING OTHER SURVIVORS!!!!
YES. Just today a David did everything in his power to get me killed and noticed by the killer. And I have had several more instances where I was successfully or attempted into being a sacrificial lamb by petty teammates who didn’t bring an offering but felt entitled to my lantern.

It’s not enough to expect a killer to show mercy every time a fellow survivor sandbags in the event.
  • If an exit gate is started, the hatch should despawn.

I am so sick and tired of THOSE survivors who can’t just go, they force the already won game to go on even further and hold the killer hostage by looking for the hatch for extra bp and bm. Nah THEY don’t deserve it. The only ones that actually deserve it are the final survivors who played the game and didn’t give me toxicity.

I also think if survivors REMAIN in the map after the gates are open (or tier 2 or 3 to avoid abuse of mechanics) the Entity should reveal their auras to the killer.
  • Lol, how about beast of prey that you never have a red stain? Just never. Would that be Overpowered?
No red stain, and maybe after a first hit the terror radius goes silent for 8/9/10 seconds too. Could have some fun tinkering combos.
  • That idea sounds devious and despicable

    I LOVE IT.

You could get really creative with builds too.
  • After getting bbq on Freddy, I mostly use the perk as a bp fountain but my logic is if I can’t see anyone with bbq then they’re close by ready to unhook. I don’t camp but if my gut tells me someone is near I will patrol the area. Especially if it’s my obsession on the hook.
  • I still try to be nice even when the survivors were mean to me (talking about you Feng that threw a firecracker at me because I took MY lantern because I was the only one who made a goddam offering)

But if noed hits or if a Pig trapped someone with the exit gates up I will save myself if I got a lantern and I don’t blame anyone who does the same.
  • After facing a ton of lullabies this event and no one bothering to hunt for it like Ruin, I do think it warrants being a hex. Then again I am so not used to it maybe it’s just a case of inexperience. Ironically I perform better at stage 5 than when the check notification is delayed. That just jumps me whereas the silence is actually pretty easy to deal with.

But I do think the lullaby could stand to a general hex change where the hexes only light up when they start to have a negative impact on survivors (ie. Devour lights up at stage 3,  Ruin first skill check, Lullaby first hook, Seal first hit - noed remains the same for obvious reasons.)

Um moris are not cheap? You need to perform well as the killer vs any survivor regardless who uses it can make use of what a key does.

Killers earn their mori. And you know they’re KILLERS. Why are you playing a game based off of the slasher genre if you don’t want killers to kill and see cool cutscenes?
lol perform well by hooking them once then downing them again. there's not a lot of "earning" going on for u to mori somebody. it definitely is cheap and boring. and idk if i can speak for others but i play this game for the chases, not to watch cutscenes ???
You still get your chases. But in true horror fashion, you lose the chase ya die. This is supposed to be a horror game not an edgy version of ring around the rosy.
  • If we couldn’t get Sidney (understandable as she’s not only the icon but she is also very similar to Laurie) I would like to see Tatum, Kirby, or Gale. Gale would be cool because she definitely survives and she’s also older than all of the dbd girls.

Ghostface’s power should be to morph into a survivor and be able to see into lockers and hide in them.
  • I play with my friends a lot but we actually play. We’re not trying to deliberately make the killer miserable, we just want to play together. Which is how it should be. If they outright took swf away, I think it would be bad for the ps4 where a lot of us play with friends and solo equally.

What is NOT okay is the groups that do try to make the killer miserable. Body blocking. Dsing. Blinds at the pallet. Wantonly tea bagging. 360ing. REFUSING TO LEAVE THE MAP AFTER THE GAME IS OVER AND GATES ARE OPENED. etc. And that needs to be resolved.
  • Delfador said:

I mean we can discuss but they are not going to nerf SWF.

A reasonable change like survivors not being able to see killers' loadout came after 3 years.

Not to mention that punishing people for wanting to play a multiplayer game with their friends is a terrible business practice.

You can argue that devs are throwing their principles away for money etc. but it doesn't mean anything to me honestly. I doubt it means much to them either.

I don't see any nerf coming for survivor friend groups any time soon.

Probably not and I think ultimately it would be okay because this game is fun to play with friends (like actually playing with friends not getting sweaty) but in the current state killers get an unnecessary hard and toxic time from such players who sweat with friends... and there’s really nothing to incentivize going into a game with such toxic players. At the very least killers should be dramatically compensated with bp and everyone wins - killers get bp to level up for their hard/wasted time, survivors don’t get lobby dodged.
  • I would rather yellow mori allow you to also kill the obsession (as if using a green mori) along with it's normal effect too. It's more fair and makes yellow mori something valuable to the killer, since so many survs want to run DS.

I like that idea. It would also help with perk builds ie. Yellow mori being a budget rancor.
  • Um moris are not cheap? You need to perform well as the killer vs any survivor regardless who uses it can make use of what a key does.

  • I want to see more stylish short hair for the girls like pixie cuts or where a side is shaved etc.
  • Another idea could be that it triggers when in a certain radius of the heartbeat/hunt music but not necessarily in a chase. I notice the chase requirement can be really finnicky.

you are out of your mind. Ridiculously long survivor ques

Survivor queue times (PC / Central Europe) are between 1-2 minutes.

I got more salty messages from fellow survivors during this event than in the last 3 months

I do not see that at all, maybe that's a "you" problem

    nobody burns offerings

I see on average 2 per round.

survivors grab a lantern and hide the entire game, no one does generators

Funny, I see many complaints about "gen rushing" here.

This EVENT SUCKS!!!. Stop carrying BHVR's water.

Just accept that there are people who like it.

I am on ps4 and yes SOMETIMES the survivor queue is fine but USUALLY you wait to a grinding halt with Moonrise. And that’s not guaranteeing you will stay connected to host after you get in a lobby, let alone actually being able to make use of envelopes and get lanterns. Especially as a solo.

In a lot of cases, certainly a lot more than Blight, not only am I usually the only one offering (at least admit Blight made people actually put down an event offering most games) but because I am a solo and the only one who put down an envelope as survivor, my fellow survivors (who are either duoing or trioing) will DELIBERATELY screw me over and get me killed (and steal the lanterns.)

I remember a handful of times when Dwights etc would sell me out for nectar in the Blight, but not only did I get a lot of bp in compensation but it was rare enough that I didn’t get anything at all (and the petals were numerous enough one unlucky game didn’t hurt) but there’s been way too many times to count where fellow survivors will sell you out for precisely one corn chip in Moonrise and I am sick of it.

It’s harsh enough more killers are playing ruthlessly for their meager portion of bp but it’s too much when actual decent survivor play and participation is now a rarity in favor of selfish, unkind behavior or outright disconnecting.
  • Peanits said:

I remember long killer queues, people farming and intentionally dying to grind out the event as fast as possible, other people just trying to play the game normally while the teammates spent the first few minutes of the match not doing the objective and instead just farming the event objective, incredibly easy 4ks, and even just trying to play killer to have people juicin' plants right in my face, expecting me to let them when I just wanted to play the game.

That's compared to: The scoring is a little off.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I guess. I definitely don't remember it being universally loved, and in comparison I think the problems with this event are much smaller than the ones with the old event.

I never said it was universally loved. I said it was flawed but ultimately better than Moonrise.

The problems with Blight still carried over to Moonrise as a solo player but Moonrise took away the things that made those problems annoying but bearable with the Blight.

Everybody was nicer and more relaxed.

You should take a look in the forum archive.

Not everyone was nice but as a whole? I would say yeah they were compared to Moonrise. Everybody is out for themselves on Moonrise, there’s a lot more killers refusing survivors the chance to participate and vice versa, and there’s nothing to satisfy people who didn’t survive or sacrifice nor is the actual grind reasonable even by grinding standards. I got 30 vials playing Blight and doing other things. I’m only now about to reach my 4th cosmetic and this is after only playing dbd when on ps4.
  • JanTheMan said:
Sure was fun having 2 hour long ques...
Not nearly as long as Moonrise where everyone wants to play survivor for the easier gotten stacks and killer is instantaneous because they get a FRACTION of what survivors get and they must play extremely well to be equal with a locker hiding survivor riding coattails of others who got gens done.
  • Hallowed Blight was flawed but I think it was a more enjoyable experience. You brought a survivor offering and even if your teammates guzzled down the nectar before you could, you were rewarded with 5k bp for every flower. In this, you’re literally screwed out completely because you neither get bp compensation AND survivors who don’t put in an offering can (and will) steal a lantern and you get squat for your troubles.

The Blight was not killer sided. Killers needed survivors to bring flowers for more chances at filling nectar (remember the hooks were only 2 and could only be used once, meaning a killer by himself could only get half a vial with an offering and on the condition he could reach the hooks.)

speaking of killers, the Blight was actually better for killers too. It was more obvious when a killer was actually playing the event and not being a total weed, and decent survivors like myself would get hooked to help them out. The killer rewards were also more rewarding even if the minimal ill placed hooks were harder to obtain. Half a vial leading up to 15 max was easier than being forced to play above average just for a measly 12-20 points when you need THOUSANDS to get everything.

Otherwise you can ask me or the other decent Sharp Hand Joes for advice.
Both those links were really helpful and insightful, thanks for sharing! Do you have any tips about Freddy?

    1. Self caring survivors are often better than dreaming survivors, especially when gens are nearby, learn transition mindgames and keep them hurt.

    2. Don't commit to huge chases when you don't have to. If a survivor approaches one of those disgusting huge loops let him go, pull others in the dream world and come back later and catch him off guard and hit him, if he runs up to the loop again you simply let him go again for a little while or just bluff a retreat and down him.
If you have Insidious, break line of sight and stay nearby behind cover, surprise them when they leave or heal.

    3. Analyse the pallet heavens (lots) and deadzones (few/none). Priotize catching any sleeping survivors in the dead zone.

    4. The new surveillance is like gods gift for Freddy.

    5. When someone unhooks in front of your face, hit the rescuer first. Maybe pull someone others in the dreamworld to deny BT activation while keeping them busy. If there is a third then its sometimes better to let both run off hurt and go for the third while both are waking up and healing.

    6. Your main addons will be Dresses, Claws and Range addons. The block addons will deny you the mindgames, they kinda suck.

    7. For Freddy, the game is often a war of attrition. Bait pallet drops when pulling survivors into the dream world even if you don't intend to chase them yet. Once their items and pallets run dry they will start getting downed fast, especially when you use Bamboozle.

    8. Most perks are good on him, but some favorites include Bamboozle, Pop goes the Weasel, Sloppy Butcher, Brutal Strength, Ruin, Make your Choice, Enduring, Spirit Fury, Nurses Calling, Surveillance and Insidious. You can use most of them in virtually any combination.

    9. Stay unpredictable. Thats very important.

    10. Pull a 3 gen strat with Overcharge, Surveillance and Unnerving Presence if you really want your ticket to hell.

    Cool! Thanks for the advice!

This might sound silly, but how does Freddy work with aura reading perks like Rancor or OoO?
You can see their aura at any time, but survivors can only see your aura when they are in the dreamworld.
So theoretically Rancor Freddy could be extremely powerful against an obsession especially with block and range add ons? Sweet!
  • I would take safe unhooks in exchange for also allowing heals to count too just so those unsafe hooks aren’t unsafe because David 1 wanted to beat David 2 to the bp fountain. Maybe also add a co op bp incentive too for fun and different perk builds like a wglf/aftercare/botany/prove thyself set up.

  • Biggest issue with pig (at least for me) is ambushing and crouching.

Crouching should not be so low and slow. Her speed should be upped at least by 10%, and her viewpoint should be higher and give some benefit like enhanced hearing or something. Because I don’t see any benefit to crouching when swf know you’re coming because Piggy is no Wraith or Spirit or Freddy - you can see her a mile away which even a low rank like me can see.

Her traps are fine Pig has it down when it comes to pressure and snowball effects. It’s the before the trap part she has an issue with.
  • I play on ps4 and I don’t know if it has or hasn’t stopped working

But because I know that as a survivor it’s no longer everyone getting a piece of the pie like Halloween, I don’t go out of my way for lanterns and just stick to gens. Or I play killer because on ps4 it’s instantaneous and therefore the grind may be slower but at least it’s constant instead of waiting >10 minutes just for maybe 20 points.
  • I would take out the luck part and just replace it with the perk allowing you to go through up to all 3 hook stages instead of immediately killing you.
  • Cosmetics wise probably Meg

    Characters probably Laurie

To play probably David because I love bp and he has the highest tier wglf (also he’s shirtless) or Nea because I love her butch flannel style and urban evasion. Also my Dwight has a good load out and looks like an Austen hero. I like Claudette too because she seems nice in spite of the toxic people who play her, and her cosmetics lend most to my preference of “I need something cute but also something that doesn’t paint me like a neon sign for the killer to find me” (which is a little ironic because I really like 90s Meg and also her bright red carnival hair.)
  • The green dull key is absolute garbage and also a complete waste when you get it via chests. I would either outright remove it in favor of something useful but not toxic like maybe an energy bar that shortens debuffs like exhaustion and blindness or have it where killers CAN lock trap doors but dulls will open them; or create a sell/create system where 3 dulls = a purple or 5 = pink skeleton. Or maybe dulls can lock lockers and prevent killers from opening them for a short duration.
  • I come from ps4 and I think a cool nurse ultra rare add on would be no fatigue but can only blink/blink chain every 15 seconds.
  • I put off playing Freddy because of how everyone said he was the weakest killer and he was being reworked. But I just finished leveling Pig and Freddy was the last of the killers, so I am leveling him now.

I am so glad they brightened the dream world because I am genuinely having fun with Freddy like I do with Doc and Hag. I didn’t realize how well his style suits me (I LOVE LOCK ONS) and now that I know how he works, I think I will actually play killer more again. Maybe I saved the best for last.
  • I wonder if it’s different on pc because on ps4, while it does feel moot a lot of times, when you’re the killer tier 3 can actually stop you from moving altogether. It may feel weak as a survivor, but I definitely notice it as a killer.
  • With Meg I switch between her 90s outfit and her carnie hair, black tank, and 90s shorts.

I have the black sci fi pants and purple/pink sweater for Feng.

And I think Kate looks really nice with brown hair, Christmas sweater, and the jeans from her USA outfit. She looks so cozy.

They're risk reward for a reason and you never complain when they work and you get kills now do you.

Let’s not pretend getting to mori level DH is at all more similar to DH getting destroyed before hook number 3, because it’s actually quite rare, so yeah...no killer would complain when they do get full stacks.

And the risk far outweighs the reward for DH (because you need 5 hooks, 2 of which puts survivors on notice before getting to the mori) as opposed to another hex like Ruin, which has an immediate effect every killer that uses it can get something out of (even if it gets destroyed in under 30 seconds.)

Actually that's incorrect because the survivors don't know it's at exposed status unless you down someone with a melee hit. If you locker grab or grab someone trying to do a vault they never get the exposed effect.

the other difference is the DH is an extremely game altering perk more so than Ruin is which is why it's how it is. If it's get changed to this it becomes brokenly op more so than DS is.

No?? Ds is literally unavoidable, and this would just put DH on the same level as noed - clean the totems and you’re a okay.
  • powerbats said:

  • I think that could be a cool add on Pig could use. Like it could be pink or purple and be on par with questioning what kind of Michael you’re against.

I would rather see see the timer shorten each missed skill check or even just start the moment the survivor begins searching. There’s literally no point to them when there’s no gens going.
  • I either chalk it up to killers who mcfrickenhadit and went Pig to stick it to Those survivors

    Or the recent changes.
  • DexyIV said:

Nope. After the first unhook, sure. After Exposed? Being handed a free instakill would literally be a midgame NOED with no counterplay, and it would be very easy to get the mori effect afterward. DH is a hex perk for a reason.

The counter play is see a totem? Delete it. It’s a 2 for 1 special with noed anyway.

Also if a killer has DH it’s kind of obvious when they immediately scoot away from the hook, especially if they have no Ruin. Or it’s the Hag.
  • If the new killer is from olden times which I assume means pre 1920

Then the obvious choice for survivor would be a girl because let’s be honest girls have better and more distinct style. It would be fun to run around the fog in an Empire waist dress like Elizabeth Bennet.
  • If they make it so deliverance can be activated on struggle phase the best way to do it would be:
Stop struggling to activate a skill check, pass it and you're off with regular broken, miss it and you die.

    That’s actually a good idea.
  • Arroz said:

NO, we just need naked spirit or shirtless quentin

Um...Spirit is already practically naked. You can see her butt cheek on the main screen with her selected. That’s why myself and a few others wished her default customization included some clothes that didn’t look like a bathrobe. But I guess we will wait.
  • I would like another girl since I finally completed leveling up the guys. I would like to focus on girls now. Also I like girls and girls tend to have better cosmetics and I am a girl.

I hope that either Nea gets more butch cosmetics or that the new survivor isn’t your typical beauty with a booty scream queen.
  • I got shirtless David because I know from personal experience shirtless bearded David is a very pleasant specimen to look at

But every killer I run into is immune to my shapely muscles and defined shoulder blades. Maybe they took a page out of Sarah Sanderson’s book and wanted to put me on a hook and play with me.
  • I just wish there were more options than having to fight for the hook or feeling like you’re throwing yourself into danger just to make sure you get your full stacks.
  • Um on console LEGION is more viable than Nurse. I know making that add on base might actually give her some valid play without committing 500 hours into learning her.
  • To be fair, I definitely feel like most ps4 killers camp as a reaction to nasty survivors and because the frame rate etc. is much more of a problem killer side.

If the frame rate etc was fixed I would like to think most killers wouldn’t feel pressured to protect whatever progress they made and would have a fairer chance dealing with rude and insulting survivors.
  • I think the problem is that wglf is a much more prominent and widely used perk. It seems very rare that someone who isn’t Adam is actually running it, unlike wglf which is both common for Davids but other heroes too.

Not to mention wglf is much more lenient so more people would take that over a perk that requires certain conditions and if hooked first is immediately voided.
  • It would be nice if wglf also contributed to heals (so it can have more play with we’ll make it and autodidact and botany) and maybe even completing gens...cause you ain’t gonna live forever if gens ain’t done.

Red Megs as in the BRIGHT red hair? I wear that piece a lot combined with the grey or crimson sweatsuit. When I’m playing killer those Megs seem to be pros for some reason. Baby Megs are the ones with the Convos jersey and grey baggy sweatpants.
Red Megs as in the bright red jacket and pants.  They’re either the first down due to trollery or the ones that are always out of reach, usually with a flashlight.
