Well it depends how problematic it is.

What’s the counter play to hoarder? Never pick up an item again?

What’s the counter play to territorial imperative? Never go into the basement again?

What’s the counter to an early tombstone your team fed Myers? Always jump into a locker every single time a Myers pops tier 3 the first time?

The majority of the time there’s no counterplay to any of it because you are not even aware they are running the perk. Especially in solo Q, where you can be easily killed on first hook.

You spawn into a match, go loot basement chest and the killer is territorial imperative Bubba. Game over. No counterplay. But how many people are on here complain about territorial imperative?

Exactly but then there are posts about how spirit has no counter play so if we are using that logic spirit is fine

btw I dont think she is

What's the counterplay to healthy survivors

    Having sound aka normal breathing

    Iron will removes that completely

  • Also on 31 pages no and still no actions taken

  • Good question but if everything is loaded on the killers side I wouldn't be surprised if that is too considering that I can play pig

  • So now that we have an idea of what the problem is now what

And also if everything is loaded on the killers side then why dose using dh eat me deadhead

  • I like this

but maybe no speed in t3

I just started playing like 2 days ago and the mar has put me against rank 1s and 2s...I’m rank 18 and my Wraith is only level 12. I get that it’s based on skill and I’ve played plenty of games with MMR, but this is a little ridiculous. I’m not that great of a player and I have super limited access to perks, eventually it’ll put me with the right people but right now it’s not fun or rewarding.

It's only a test for 48hr tho but still this is a down grade compared to the last one

Is everyone here forgetting that Increased FOV also make you easier to blind? How would giving players the option to increase their FOV be an outrageous decision if 1, it also has a downside, and 2, 15 more FOV is really not much and wouldn't give killers free wins?

That's fine if I can see mb I'll see them going for the save

If you think the 15 degrees of Shadowborn makes that much of a difference, you don't know what you're talking about.

I run Shadowborn constantly and have been doing so since 2018. In the 2 and a half years I've been a fan of this Perk, not ONCE, not ONE SINGLE TIME, did I think to myself, "I found that Survivor because of Shadowborn."

It is little more than a quality-of-life change. It does not give nearly as big of an advantage as you think.

It's the same thing with iron will there's rare occasions where you think to yourself where wow that perk saved me it happens but not all the time

  • @MikeyBoi said:

From what I remember shadowborn got nerfed waaaay back in the day because it increased visual brightness and had an even bigger FOV if I’m not mistaken.

No shadowborn should not be base kit nor an fov slider. It gives Nurses, Huntresses etc an edge on hitting hatchets and blinks more consistently. Even Billys run shadowborn to hit rev backs easier.

People who run shadowborn on all their builds are scared to run stretched resolution particularly on stream because they think they’ll get banned..

You can play on stretched resolution on console it’s just in 480p, I used this on my Nurse for a bit, it helps but I mean at a huge price of awful resolution..

If only killers had the option to have a fov slider that would be unfair to survivors and if both survivors and killers could have the option it would be unfair for killers who don’t like the fov slider adjusted from default at all because then trying to mindgame a good survivor on increased fov would be a nightmare..

Buy a PC and play on 1080x1080p.

Playing killer on console is just...awful in general anyways reguardless if there was a killer fov slider.. I couldn’t imagine ever going back to a controller after playing on M&K..

All in all I think playing ANY game on an increased FOV/resolution is cheating.. plain and simple.

Hope this helped whether you agree somewhat or fully agree.

But stretch rez isint bannable its just weird to have to run a perk in order to see and also how it miraculously f8sses fps drops on console

Still though. It isn't OK to create extra work for people who don't deserve it, especially since mods probably don't even get paid.

But they are mods they shouldn't have to attempt to silence the community because of an action someone above them made

They are mods to prevent bad things not deny people's speech when someone else messed up

Oh, knowing this community there have probably been at least 50 posts insulting mods

And your logic is also not exactly fair. That's like saying it's fine to intentionally make a huge mess all over the floor of a business, just because it has a janitor whose job is to clean up said messes.

Yes but that's how life works if that janitor refuses to work they get a warning and then layed off dosent mean it's fair

HAHAHA are you serious, ITS NOT ADDED. ITS MULTIPLIED, the man who made this post is right ffs! You multiply by the percent or decimal. Not the whole number you big bag of donkey doodle #########. sry lol. Stridor is simply worded wrong.

    It's simple addition and subtraction

Base volume of surivors is 100 subtract 100 you gave 0 now add 50

That's half as loud as you were

Also they say percent so you have an idea they could be using different numbers like 10

  • @CountVampyr said:

Stridor makes regular breathing 25% louder and grunts of pain 50% louder. Purple Iron Will cuts grunts of pain down to 0%. I know what they mean, but it irritates me that the description for Stridor is improperly worded. Multiplying zero by any number is still going to be zero.

    discuss.

Have you tried adding instead of multiplying

I am not playing low tier killers, specially if they have not map mobility. Only Legion sometimes. Anyway my question to low tier killer mains. Pig, Trapper, Trickster, Clown etc mains.

I stopped play as Trickster after i get adept, he was joke. I wanted play with different killers. And i can not just stop generators. They are so fast. When i get someone down, going to gen takes time. I have not same problem as Freddy or Blight. But even i get them down, i am losing gens. And half of them escaped. How you are dealing with them? What is your tactics? And how long time takes your chases?

    Because surivors make mistakes

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

As much as I love the new map as an RE fan I understand people don't like it. I'm one of those who don't care on how it feels gameplay wise but I still follow all that stuff on if its good or bad. I have an idea to maybe help and I want thoughts on it. My idea is to have 3 variations of the R.P.D. First lets talk about only 2 of them. Both of them have the main hall in it but there is only 1 side of the R.P.D open. You know how there is 2 areas on the sides of the main hall. Make 2 variations where one is one side and the main hall and the other variation is the other side and the main hall. Now I did mention a 3rd variation of the map that I will say I thought of this one SPECIFICALLY for Kill Your Friends/Custom Games. That 3th variation is the one we have right now in case someone like me or something wants to play on that version and I would 100% choose to be on that version in a KYF. Thoughts?

So like an a ward and b ward heave one quarter of the building collapsed so you can't enter it they would have to re do the gen placement tho

  • @Skyost_AB said:

Hey did you guys know the trickster has a lullaby? You know that huming thing the huntress does? In his case it sounds like his terror radius but it can't be altered by any "undetectable" perks (such as insidious) or any perks that alter a killer's terror radius (such as monitor and abuse).

It's a feature that balances killers that lose their terror radius with their abilities (the kids singing when the nightmare is near) or that are a threat even at a distance (the huntress, duuuh).

That being said, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THEY PUT A LULLABY ON THE TRICKSTER IF HE CAN'T DO ANY OF THESE THINGS, ARE THEY PURSPOSEFULLY TRYING TO MAKE THIS KILLER BAD.

I mean yeah, the trickster can harm you at a distance, IF HE LANDS ABOUT 8 KNIVES AND YOU STAND COMPLETELY STILL WHILE HE DOES IT INSTEAD OF TAKING COVER OR DODGING.

Also nowhere in the game it says he has a lullaby, a salty survivor told me on chat yesterday "you look dumb af running monitor, i could hear you on the other side of the map", that's the only reason i went to look it up. Apparently not even some streamers know of this because they never mention it on tier lists and they run monitor themselves. And yes, it makes monitor and abuse pretty useless, considering it goes up to 32 meters and it sounds exactly like your terror radius.

So not only i have to worry about being slow, but now i can't even surprise survivors. They better buff him so that the knives remove a health state each if they plan on maintaining the lullaby, jeez.

I noticed this with diversion I was wondering why I wasn't getting diversion when I could hear his music

  • @Doomerzan said:

I would assume it would help immensely with sniping and looping, and in order to avoid the perk survivors would have to go slower so there would be no counter or mindgames the survivor could really play.

    It's good

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

To clarify, I mean that people are treating Wraith like how they did to Freddy. I'm not saying he's that strong. And why they're saying that makes a little more sense than it may seem.

People complained about Freddy because his blood puddles seemed like brute-force anti-looping power. Slowing survivors down for looping around a puddle was a bit lacking in nuance. I'm not saying it was that effective, but it was boring as hell, since it just means you drop the pallet a loop earlier. His generator teleportation was a bit annoying since it required little setup, unlike Demogorgon. He seemed cheap, in essence, that his power was just Clown but better and discount demogorgon combined.

People complain about the new Wraith because better invisibility and higher speed while cloaking means that he's able to catch survivors off-guard very quickly. Whereas you can hear the terror radius of other killers, and see them approaching you so you can run the other direction in anticipation, Wraith can get very close to you and catch you out of position, where you can't anticipate his approach and make it to a loop safely. The post uncloaking lunge also can come off as a bit extra. He's already up-close and personal, and giving him that extra lunge is just adding insult to injury, not to mention that he can use it at certain loops, which means you either camp the pallet in anticipation of which side he's going to lunge from or get hit. Plus, even if you do catch him preemptively, his increased movement speed means that he can just follow you cloaked until he's breathing down your neck, uncloak, and then use that post-uncloaking speed boost to screw you over at whatever loop you find.

Slightly besides the point, the reason Wraith got the post-uncloak lunge made basekit is because his clunky invisibility gave survivors too much of a head start. That was before he was given better invisibility and higher speed via the latest buffs. But now, it seems to some like a vestigial organ of a past time that's not congruous with his current features. It was meant to be a band-aid fix then, but now they've gone ahead with corrective surgery and left the band-aid. Why not reduce his uncloaking time, increase his uncloaking movement speed, and reduce the lunge?

If anything they might make his visibility when invisible further to make up for how fact he can move that and maybe a final addon pass

  • Also how dose shadow born fix these freeze frames there are 2 killers I run it on and have yet to see a freeze drop I did feel bad for a meg tho she used dh and went nowhere and I could see it this time because because of shadow born

No, not it isn't. :) I play both Killer and Survivor. I take on pretty much nothing but Red Rank Survivors with the odd Purples thrown in. Dead Hard is a regular part of the loadout. It is just something you learn to work around. Dead Hard does not guarantee an escape anymore than NOED guarantees a Kill.

No it dosent guarantee an escape it extends it by like 20s+ just like hot that would end it quicker

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/254843/i-think-that-dead-hard-and-noed-may-have-the-exact-same-issues

What they have in common is entitled, people endlessly whining about them. Both Perks are fine.

Imagine every 40s you could press e to insta down a surivor sounds fair

    That's deadhard

  • @Beelzeboop said:

Hey, it's me, the entitled guy again.

I noticed this recently while thinking about arguments against DH, and trying to explain why it generally feels like you've been cheated when it's used against you, and then I realized how incredibly similar it was to NOED in function if not form.

I'll go over the main points, cause I don't have any skill when it comes to writing and this seems to be the only way I can present an argument.

    • They both reward you for failure. NOED rewards you with easy downs and extra speed if you let the EGC start, which requires you to either "let" all the gens go or close the hatch. DH rewards you with extra distance and let's you stay up when you would normally go down (I'm dancing around the term "third healthstate" here) if you get injured.
    • They both have inconsistent counters. They both require you to know about the perk beforehand. I don't even need to explain this point, really. "Just do bones" and "Just bait it out" are equally stupid "counters" no matter what you say. You can't cleanse all the totems yourself unless you ignore gens (or run Counterforce), and half the killer attack animations give the survivors enough information to press E before the hit lands.
    • Neither of them require much skill to get significant use out of them. NOED doesn't require you to change your playstyle at all to get use out of it (unless you're playing as an instadown killer), since it just makes all survivors exposed and makes the killer faster. DH just requires you to have basic timing and perception skills and the ability to consistently not run into walls.
    • They both remove a good deal of agency from the other side. Killer is based almost completely on punishing mistakes, to the point that what qualifies as an S tier killer is just being not entirely reliant upon survivors screwing up. With how much time it usually takes to maneuver into a position that can guarantee a hit, missing when you do that can actually cost you the game. Everyone already knows how NOED works at this point.
    • They're both horribly inconsistent to use somehow. Dedicated servers can easily make you their ######### if you're a DH user, and often will. If the survivors are really on the ball (which ironically is the only time NOED should work) they can work together to cleanse your totems. Admittedly, you kinda deserve it if it doesn't work, but it's still annoying as ######### when it happens.

At first I was confused how you came to this slution but this makes sense

  • @Yamaoka said:

You say that like everyone watched Dowsey. I have no idea what you are referring to but it sounds like it's something you're not allowed to say here?

He got stuck in match making for 3 about hours

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Sorry but any talk or actions of such is a terrible idea, we all know and even the devs know and have acknowledged that rank means very little, 2 survivors in red rank currently can be so different it's insane.

So why would we talk about buffs when the ranking doesnt mean anything... because when mmr does come out guess what, you just buffed all those good solo players. I legit just had a game where someone the same rank as me just crouched and hid round one corner of the map by the time a done a full solo gen, seen her later missing every skill check yet I nearly always hit greats, know every tile, map, perks, killer counters etc. Yet were the same rank. Do you actually monitor and see how little your team actually do generators or know how to loop?

YOU CANNOT BUFF SOLOS. Do people not remember high mmr games? Even Scott Jun who now supports swf and say solos need a buff hated the mmr because of how stupid hard it was... they was mostly solos but now you want them buffed??? What? Or are we now saying all good players at high mmr are swf? Because that's not true...

Yes people make mistakes vs swf, but saying solos need a buff is wrong. You cannt buff people who are still learning, because when they do learn they're now much stronger. When people say swf is the stronger role they arent including teammates that cant play.

But what does my opinion matter, I'm not a streamer. It's not like my experience since game launch, consistently doing well against all types of killers, knowing pretty much everything you wish to know about the game (except addon names). As someone who plays solo near 90% of the time, the other 10% with my misses who btw struggles alot btw, I'd still perk her over a random, why? Coms...

(Btw I dont group up with other good randoms because of the advantages) if you think coms dont provide any advantage then you're lying to yourself. Sure not everyone will be doing every fallout but every bit of info helps. Remember swfs would be weaker if they was solo. Not because solo sucks because of the inefficiency that can happen when off coms which is a normal part of the game and its balanced that way.

All respect to scott and other players, but no I'm sorry buffing solos isn't a good idea till mmr has been out at least half a year for things to adjust to the system.

I think quality of life changes are ok but direct new mechanics to help them communicate or or affects gameplay is not good

and an Iron Will survivor still has to get back on a gen which killers have aura reading for.

Iron Will survivors can be healthy and be downed in one hit via Exposed or killer powers.

You can only track blood when it's in the open and not in grass

Cant see scratch mark behind an object

How dose screaming help mid chase

And most of the time you see a surivors aura is when are not near you unless your running I'm all ears

I'm down for surivors haveing a way to attempt to avoid the killer but having it active 24/ 7 seem a little much

  • @Wiggles_Diggles said:

While Iron Will is annoying there are ways to work around it. Killers have other methods of tracking. Scratch Marks, footsteps, crows, seeing a survivor ect. When Spirit is phasing she gives survivors 0 information as of to where she can be. No other killer in the game can do that.

What I would like to see with Spirit is for survivors to be able to hear her footsteps.

You cant see the survivor or scratch Mark's through the wall you might get lucky and hear a crow or foot steps but not likely over the chase music
