  • With all the killers we have it's hard not to compare powers and at this point it'd be pretty difficult to come up with a unique power that couldn't be compared in some way to the other killers.

Like go ahead and try to come up with a power that somehow couldn't be compared to any current killers in someway. There is still the doppleganger power which would be unique but likely awful in practice and that's about all that comes to mind as something completely unique though I'm sure there are a few more.

Flying could be compared to teleporting killers like Freddy, Demo, or Nurse but it's in the air. Fire could just be said to be another range attack power and the list goes on.

Personally, I would like a licenced chapter and I assume it'll be Candyman which will have some kind of bee related thing which could be neat?

Original killer wise I would prefer something fire related. Unique or not I think it'd be cool to light survivors on fire.

Hey, if you still got problems with the PS4 Framerate, please try updating your Firmware to 8.0. That might fix it! If this doesn't work, please ping me and I will get back to you.

The others have mentioned it but every PS4 user should be on 8.0 firmware unless there is some kind of crazy workaround.

Either way I can confirm I'm on the most current firmware patch and still experiencing framerate issues. It's at it's worst at the start of the match but also happens periodically throughout, with some killers like Doctor causing more framedrops than other as well as perks like sloppy/thana and such also causing frame drops.

Certain maps also cause dips in frames notably the indoor ones.

  • Yup, that's how all the events have been. I think the highest I've seen was 37k so far, maybe 40k. I can't quite recall.

And I also agree, I think the point addons should allow you you to bypass the max.

I dont see where they find a problem with his addons though (their probably talking tombstone but gl getting that much stalk)

It's actually pretty easy to get full stalk with tombstone as long as you're using a memorial with it. It actually takes less stalk to tombstone then it does to perma tier 3 even though tombstone is way stronger. Against the really good teams you wont be able to use it but at that point, it doesn't matter what add-ons you've used, you'll probably lose anyway. The normal to decent everyday teams get destroyed by tombstone though.

  • I disagree. DBD is not scary because one can play it a ton. When you first get into the game, it has its scares as it's all unknown to the player just like any other scary game. Even when you do know everything you can still get jump scared by a stealth killer or hag/trapper trap.

You could get rid of the terror radius, red stain, all 2nd chance perks and things like that and it still wouldn't be scary because every game would just turn in a Myers style match of watching every corner. Hell, most people do that anyways as you should since killers can sneak up on you with various perks.

At that point it would just be jump scares and nothing else and even then you'd get numb to that after a while. All horror is like that and it depends on each person, how quickly said numbness sets in.

  • Two big moments from when I first started.

For about the first couple weeks or so I didn't know you could just heal other survivors. I thought you needed a medkit. I'm pretty sure I made a lot of people mad with that one.

I also didn't know skill checks made noise so I was basically playing with max huntress lullaby for a about a month.

This is probably my noobiest moment I have recorded. What makes it better is I was probably devotion 4 at the time.

Yep ... I think I'm the oldest person here, lol. And it might not be close. 😯

Young at heart counts, though ... right? 😊

    But of course! ^_^

While not a DBD player I think the oldest person I've played with (assuming they weren't lying) was a guy I used to play ZMR with who said he was 56, which would have been 5 or 6 years ago. I don't recall when that game was released.

Anyway I was the leader of a clan, he was my number 2 and he always made it a point to give out life advice whenever he could. He was a really chill dude but was also kind of grumpy and had a really relaxing but kind of raspy voice if that makes sense. He said he's been gaming ever since he played pong when it came out in the arcades and never really stopped. He used to bring up his grandkids a lot as well and say how gaming brought them closer together. It was always really sweet.

Thinking on it I wonder what happened to that guy and it bugs me to no end I can't remember his name. Hell, I forgot he even existed until I was trying to recall the oldest person I've played with. It's funny how little things like this can bring back a bunch of forgotten memories.

  • I'm 30, two of my friends who I play with are 30 and my friends girlfriend is 27. I don't think it's all that old for a gamer nowadays since when we were young games were just starting to get big. I remember all the stories kids in school would talk about when a new N64 game came out and they would stay up all night playing it. I like to think all those people are still around playing games to this day and that I might even be playing with them and others like them.

Of course if we're going realistically then I definitely think it's teens or at least school kids of some kind. I tend to play more at night and there is a pretty big jump in activity around 5:30AM to 7:00AM which for me is when I'd be getting up for school and taking a little time for morning gaming. Though I suppose it could be people getting up for work as well.

sure but does one not counter the other? if you double pipped as survivor then died, that means others have not been doing so well, probably the killer neither which cannot be in a perfect MMR system.

Or can everyone pip in a single match? basically everyone doing well enough so everyone got a pip

Well, I suppose in a realistic scenario where everyone does a little of everything in a perfect way then it's more likely to be a safety pip for everyone.

In an unrealistic scenario, I think everyone could pip in a match. As survivor you could get 3 iri and a silver which is almost double piping. The two that escape get the double pip as they'd get gold in survival.

As a killer, you would get a silver, 2 iri's and if you can get a gold in gatekeeper then you get a pip. I however have no idea if that's possible as the wiki isn't really up to date on that front.

    For reference

    Survivor

Lightbringer- Iri for everyone if you 99 gens and go with some regression perks on the killer side so that everyone gets max lightbringer

Benevolent- It's legion and everyone gets to heal each other a ton

Survival- Gold for the two that escape. Silver for the two dead

Evader- Iri for everyone as you get decent chases with pallets stuns

    Killer

Sacrifice- Silver for the double kill

Chaser- Iri because you're legion and hiting people with frenzy counts as a chase won

Malicious- Iri because you're legion and you hit everyone a ton

Gatekeeper- I have no idea as I don't know how it currently works. If you can get gold then you pip. If not you safety even with nothing

  • You can still pip with a 2k though? Just not double pip afaik.

You can also pip as survivor even if you're killed. Technically, you could also double pip as survivor if killed as well.

  • Probably because we're in the down time between rifts. I imagine people are just taking a break.

The Entity isn't mad. Just disappointed.

I found that a little too funny.

On Topic, I really don't think Entity Displeased is all that bad. It could certainly be much worse which I would actually prefer tbh.

  • Survivor

    Overrated: Sprint Burst

I just don't think it's that good a perk outside of letting you get out of dead zones. I also hate using it personally as I normally run around everywhere and I dislike micromanaging a 99'd sprint burst.

    Underrated: Plunderers

It's not something I personally use all that much but I'm surprised more SWF's and solo's don't run it. It almost guarantees a key if used with a coin and you get the extra benefit of not worrying about a mori because you brought a key. The other items you get in a match are also very helpful on the fly.

    Killer

    Overrated: Corrupt

Outside of some killers like Trapper and Hag I just find it to be a waste of a slot. Most killers will start chase quickly anyways and survivors will just move to the other side. If it's a team they can just wait it out if you're not one of the above killers. Playing both with it and against it, it still feels like gens go by at the same speed.

    Underrated: Agitation

Agitation is my feel good perk. The extra speed in getting to hooks is so nice and it lets you get sneaky hits on survivors. You also never have to worry about sabo since you have so much time to play with and that extra time you save can get you to a gen before it pops, even scare them off first if you have to. It can also get you some cheeky basement hooks as well. I don't think it's a meta level good perk but I do think it's very underrated outside of people using basement builds.

  • I know he was rude in how he presented that but he's not wrong. It's like saying, "Hey survivors, you should try DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed and Spine Chill. It works great!"

That said I appreciate your post in trying to help people out and encourage a non-camping playstyle. ^_^

  • @Pepsidot said:

    Any elaboration?

He probably wants to know if people are in solo queue or SWF at the end of the match.

  • Trapper- I'm a trap magnet and even a rank 20 first time trapper could destroy me with their trap setups. I also overthink every loop because I assume every trapper has 200IQ with their placement.

Deathslinger- It's just feels like it's impossible to do anything against a really good one and it requires an actual team to win in those cases. If you're in solo and the Slinger is even a little good, you've probably lost if your team is messing around.

Spirit- Same as the Slinger but even worse in almost every respect.

Nurse gets out a shoutout as she's even worse then Spirit but I actually enjoy facing a good one as long as it's not multiple in a small time frame.

  • Probably because they want to show off how elite they are at Nurse and that there is little you can do to stop them. I've run into 3 different Nurses this week all stupidly good. Two of them slugged at 5-gens with infectious while the other slugged at 5-gens with no perks. All three gave no shits about DS.

The games were over in about two minutes as I'm sure most of their games are. The only reason to keep doing that is because they must get some kind of satisfaction in curb-stomping randos, showing off their skills or they happened to have a bad match before on some other killer and are now taking it out on the next group.

Good on them for being as skilled as they are and they have no doubt earned those quick games but ending every match in 2-minutes seems dreadfully boring to me.

  • What? All the challenges this time around have been grindy for sure but not difficult in the least. Even the challenges like Extinction of Hope which sound hard on paper are really easy once you realize you can use a mori with Myers/Ghostface or a an exposed perk.

I second the question above, what challenges are you having issues with?

  • I believe the devs have said before that bodyblocking is fine if EGC is started, you plan to hit them but are waiting a sec for something like plague vomit or you only do it for a little while. What isn't fine is prolonged bodyblocking which could be considered holding the game hostage for that player.

  • Psh, that's the best cosmetic of the bunch.

People ragging on him for only being green rank lol since when has rank meant anything in this game?

i was able to hit rank 1 killer in my first month, still knew nothing i just have intelligence.

With soft reset you can go from red to green if you barely play or dont play for 2 months. Hell dont play for 4 months and you back at 20.

Ive also solo’d to red rank survivor and bear’d wittness to many questionable red rank killers and survivors... then got some unreal mid rank survivors and killers.

People are ragging on him because he's boasting about beating newer players while being a newer player and trying to bring pc vs console into it.

It's a fair complaint and I personally feel this entire thread is a waste of time and should probably be locked before it goes off even further.

  • It's just about learning their spawns again. They are pretty hard to find initially for sure but once you learn the new spawns well-enough, it's just a quick check, same as the other maps.

It does take a bit longer to learn them though since they're not just thrown in loops.

  • I don't know how fair you'd consider it but tombstone Myers works well for this challenge with Nemesis and makes it a little harder for someone to DC since it happens so quick. You're pretty much guaranteed one at least.

  • That's about 144 games if done perfectly so closer to 150 mori games really. Have fun. ^_^

  • Personally I think gens are higher priority then taking aggro. A lot of higher end killers won't even chase everyone because it wastes too much time trying to hook everybody. It's more efficient on their end to focus one or two down and if you're trying to take aggro from them and it's not working then you end up wasting more time instead.

Ideally, yes you should spread out hook states and if everyone has been two hooked and you're on first hook then it'd probably be the play to try and take aggro but I don't think it should be priority. If you're also the only one doing gens then I think that's higher importance, especially if there is only one left.

    It's actually pretty situational really.

I did that once, no obsession, nemesis did not create an obsession after being pallet stunned. that was my experience and then I re-read it and it doesn't create the obsession just simply transfers it. I could be wrong and there was a bug or something at the time but it does say they become the obsession, i'll have to test it out again and see what happens.

Just played a game now since I still have that challenge and got a group with no obsession. Getting pallet stunned did make that person an obsession. I can post a video for confirmation if you'd like?

the obsession challenge, i used obsession perk and nemesis with mori in 2 matches got 6 obsession kills almost 7 now you can't rely on survivors having a perk to give an obsession and nemsis does not CREATE one. :) mikie though can have the add on to create one and doesn't need that obsession perk too.

I could be wrong but I think Nemesis does create an obsession after being stunned, even if there are no obsessions at first. They may have changed it since then but I used Nemesis a while back and there was no obsession but after being stunned it made one on said person so it should work fine for this challenge.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/193539/why-cant-people-be-neutral

people aren't neutral because neutrality doesn't exist.

    In fact, everyone thinks this:

I don't care how much you agree with me. People have different opinions...accept that.

or, to be more explicit: I have my opinion which I think is correct (hence: objectively true). You can have yours, but I don't care about it because you are wrong (if you don't agree with me).

Maybe Broad-Minded or Open-Minded would be better words to use in this case? It's true enough that pure neutrality isn't possible as everyone has some form of bias.

  • I consider myself neutral (or at least I try to be) and there are definitely other neutrals out there. I can't speak for everyone but I tend to be a bit picky with what threads I reply to and other times I just don't care enough. In fact most of time I just don't care enough to reply.

I'll see some threads and just roll my eyes and move on because what's the point in replying when it's going to get drowned out or the OP is just someone looking for a hugbox.

I've seen a few threads with nothing but happy overly supportive replies and I wanted to jump in and be the bad guy with a post just to stir up some conversation, even when I agree with what the OP is saying.

I go back and forth with a lot of things as well. I can't tell you the amount of times I've written up a long ass reply to something and then deleted it because I lost interest or in the process of writing I realized I didn't believe what I was typing. Just my indecisiveness kicking in I guess.

  • As Survivor: The Lab

As Killer: Shelter Woods maybe? I don't really have any maps I "hate" as killer but Shelter Woods is just really boring. IDK, this answer would probably changed depending on the day of the week for me.

  • Yeah, I think he need some TLC with how much has changed but nothing major. Just some quality of life stuff and a couple minor buffs here and there and I think he'd be in a fine spot.

Well you literally said that you're not a fan of Child's Play and so I don't understand why would you want that killer. There was a thing somebody posted let's get to know each other I know for a fact that the Chucky forum post have died for like over a year or two almost a year and a half and soon as I say yeah I'm a fan of this X and Child's Play all of a sudden people posting about Chucky. I just find it kind of trollish to me. what are you a fan of you don't want that? if it's fnaf goodbye. I don't want any other chapter actually like I don't want nothing, I have the chapter that I want so I don't know what to tell you my friend.

@bubbabrotha but it wouldn't be true to the original design

Really bad wording on my part, sorry about that. What I meant by it is that I enjoyed the Child's Play series (I did make a fan-chapter after all), but I have other horror movies I like more then Child's Play but I'd still rather have Chucky over them.

As far as general killers I'd like to see, Jason is big pick though I haven't seen the movies in ages. I've never watched them but I'd also enjoy seeing Alien and Pinhead as well. Something from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and something from Resident Evil would also be neat.

I'm rather neutral on the entire FNaF thing. I played I think the first two games, watched videos on some other ones. I would never personally pick them to join DBD but if for whatever reason they ended up in the game, I wouldn't freak out either.

As far as my favorite horror movies go that I don't want to see in the game, it would be the the Hannibal Lector movies. I don't think he'd make a good killer in this game since it's more psychological horror. I just don't see how they could do it justice.

    @bobcat946732 are you trolling

Nope, not at all. Chucky is a pretty common pick for people as well, even OP wanted them. Why would you think I was trolling out of curiosity?

Edit: If it's about the doppelganger thing I was thinking along the lines of the original movies and how he wanted to get a body. I figure implement that into his power where he could take survivor bodies for himself.

  • Personally, I'd want Chucky. When I first got into the game I didn't really think he'd be a good fit but the more I play the more I'd love to see some version of him in it. Heck, I even made a fan-chapter of it some time back.

I don't love the movies or anything but I just think he'd be a fun addition and I would love to see how BHVR implemented it. Personally, I think it'd be cool if he had a doppelganger power that people bring up now and then.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1626362#Comment_1626362

I can ALMOST get fully behind this post, except that it isn't even Etiquette yet. An etiquette is a guide of behavior, a moray if you will, that is agreed upon by the MAJORITY of a community or population. I don't think we have even reached a point of agreement over which (if any) behaviors are expected or not. I know a LOT of Survivors want to author the Book of Rules for Killers that Samination makes fun of, but let's be honest here, there is not etiquette yet, none. I don't thin there ever will be either beyond DON'T CHEAT.

You're not wrong and that's exactly why I think etiquette should be brought up more often in debates instead of fun. At least with debating etiquette we'd have chance of progress even if it's minimal. Hell, even though the community would never completely agree on a common etiquette I think you'd see a lot better discussions then ones that bring up fun as the main topic.

IDK, it's just became a pet peeve of mine to see people trying to debate "fun" in some of these threads. Fun is important, don't get me wrong but trying to debate it just seems pointless to me.

  • It's DBD Etiquette, nothing more and nothing less. Plenty of other games have their own community etiquette and DBD is no different in that respect. Whether you follow these community rules or not is up to you and while a lot of people use "fun" as the excuse for their anger, it's more just them being mad you broke said rules. After all, I can still have fun in matches I got facecamped but I'm still annoyed I was facecamped because it broke the rules of etiquette.

It's really up to each person at the end of the day. To use another games example; in Dark Souls do you bow before a duel and use no estus or do you use every available resource in a gank squad to make your opponent know pain? Same here. Face camp, tunnel, first hook mori, OoO, small PP build, the list goes on. Do you use everything available or do you follow etiquette?

I keep seeing the f-word brought up a lot but I think as a community we should start referring to it only as DBD etiquette. Fun is such a silly word to bring up in things like these since it's so subjective in the first place. It's much easier to refer to this problem as community etiquette and debate over that instead of how much potential fun a person is having because you stood next to them for a second too long or god forbid you pushed the ctrl key.

  • Necessary: No

    Useful: Yes

I use it quite a bit as part of my general build which includes Discordance, BBQ, Pop and Agitation. I use Discordance mainly for early game to stop me from running around the map and checking the gen I needed to check last. It's also nice at end game to keep tabs on a 3-gen if you have it. Also, if it doesn't show up, you can assume survivors are spread out so you need to make sure to keep tabs on gens as you're chasing someone, even abandoning chase if you have to to keep pressure.

I think Whispers is overall the better perk but I personally prefer Discordance for my play style which is playing offensive early on and trying to get a hook or two and then being defensive after a couple gens are gone mainly going for 3-gens with Pop and Discordance. BBQ for points and info and Agitation is nice if hooks are far away or if you have a 3-gen you can bring people right back when they run away and apply pressure on the gens and hooked person at the same time.

  • I got the platinum sometime back and I've been casually working on getting all the trophies. For the pure platinum, the only one that really gave me issues was the 4-man hatch escape. Did it in a duo and me and my buddy brought keys for around 20 some games before we finally got it. This was also back when you couldn't close hatch as well and we were super pleased after getting it.

Getting out of Disturbed Ward without getting hit was also a pain just because I had to play scummy and every time I used a map offering I got Father Campbell's.

Everything else was either grind-y or just stuff you could farm so I didn't have any issues.

As for the other trophies, I still need all the Blight chapter ones but I'll get most of these just casually and outside of them I only need three more.

100 downs from 24 meters Huntress, 1000 Hatchets, and 250 protection hits on unhook. One I get the 250 protection one naturally, then I'll work on the Huntress one but it's going to take me forever as I'm god awful on Huntress and I couldn't hit the side of the barn on Cowshed if I was 3 meters away.

The only trophy that was really a pain outside of those three left was the do the last gen and escape through the exit gates which I got because a Billy was being super nice. I was planning to do it with a buddy where he would suicide after we 99'd the last gen and everyone had died but it didn't come down to that which was nice.

I got Evil Incarnate first try and I don't think I really any issues with any other ones outside of them just being grind-y.

Edit: @Adeloo It's the Xbox/Steam equivalent of getting every achievement, not counting DLC's.

  • As killer, a bit but not enough where I'd complain about it. It's mostly just frame issues really, I don't play Huntress or Nurse and a lot of survivors are still potato. I've also run into more good teams but no tournament squads where I felt it was impossible to win or anything.

As survivor, not even a little. I don't notice any difference in killer skill outside of Nurse and Huntress and in solo queue and duos I'm still normally the only one doing most of the gens but not always. So, not much has changed really. That said, when I do get people that actually know how to play, that is a lot more noticeable then when it was only PS4. As in I've had a lot more "let's not heal in a corner and instead work on them gens" which has been fantastic.

I'm also super happy that crossplay even became a thing since I've been able to go against some streamers as well, even ones I don't watch just because it's fun to see things from another perspective. Hell, last weak was a ride, went against a hacker, Zubat and Ralph pretty much back to back. That was great.

  • @Zarr0ch said:

Can’t stop moaning can you people. One thing gets fixed then straight to the next. What about the killer sided maps? What’s that? You don’t care about those ones do you.

As soon as you get your way and survivors are all dead in 5mins or less you’ll be back here crying about queue times as they all stop playing

IMO the only killer sided map I think they should change is Asarov's Resting Place and that's only with how the gens spawn on it.

It's no issue if it's 3-1-3 but when it's possible to have a 5 gen strat on one side if it spawns right, that's pretty stupid and shouldn't happen. Hell even 4 on one side is pretty dangerous if you have a killer playing defensively. The map also let's you camp for free a lot of the time or at least force hook trades if you get someone hooked in your territory.

What other maps are you talking about out of curiosity?

Edit: On topic, I personally prefer Blood Lodge, assuming it's a good spawn. Ormond is still great though even with bad spawns as long as people don't waste everything,

  • I really like the idea of a ship actually on water but I don't know about an entire map based on just a single ship.

I think something more like a ship graveyard with multiple different sized ships that you could run between via planks and the exit gates could connect to land on opposite sides which would be pretty neat I think.

Killer could be a Ghost Pirate or something. Either way, I like the idea but it's also about how it'd be handled. Something like this seems like it could be a really cool map or a really really bad one.

Thank you so much I must be really tired to have missed that

No worries. Enjoy the Bloodpoints. ^_^

  • Go into the in game store menu and "redeem code" should be in the upper right part.

  • I'd be upset as The Banana Splits are the obviously superior better choice.

  • Demo and Myers for sure. You rarely see either of them nowadays and it's always a treat playing against them.

Heck, I'd argue they're the two funnest killers to go against in the game. Nurse, Huntress and Billy are also very fun as long as they aren't too good at the video game but you see them more often then others. Oni is also up there in fun level but like with the others, you see him semi-normally.

I actually quite like going against the Pig as well and wish more people played her.

  • Otz, Scott, Zubat and Umbra at the moment are my favorites to watch.

I also like that Scott visits the forums now and then which is neat-o. Hi Scott!

  • download.png

PS4 Player and this list is based entirely on personal experience in a 2-man swf with some solo while also including cross-play and not based on a killers actual potential skill otherwise Nurse and many others would be switched around quite a bit.

I don't think any killer is absolute trash anymore, just some below the average.

Pig is in the Good section as I've seen three different Pigs now that were so stupidly good I couldn't even believe it was the same character. I have yet to see such a thing with the 8 below her.

I would normally place Bubba a little higher since the change but I have yet to meet any able to wow me. Going against him still feels the same and I haven't seen any good uses of his updated ability yet.

I also have yet to run into any really really good Nurses but I've been against a few decent ones now, nothing mind blowing yet though.

Hag would also be higher going just off potential but she's the rarest killer to see and while I've seen a few good ones it's never been anything too crazy.

Everything else is pretty standard place for most tier lists.

  • That's how most places do it though? You have to report the person through whatever platform they attacked you on if it wasn't an in game thing. If it was DBD end chat and they went off on you then they might do something but otherwise you just have to go through your platform.

  • Say what you want but I'd rather have these type of easy but grindy challenges then kill every survivor in the basement style ones.

I do agree they could come up with something a tad more interesting though.

dc penalties does nothing if there not DB they kill them self on first hook to by pass dc penalties use useless just disable it and bring in bots is the best thing they can do now.

I agree that having bots is the best case for people that dc but with that said I don't think they should remove the penalties even if they add bots. Someone shouldn't be able to just freely dc because they were annoyed in a match.

Without penalties, people can dc for any number of stupid reasons with no consequence. Dislike the killer, got found first, bad map, good map but not the one they wanted, killer perks like Franklins, so someone can get hatch, the list goes on.

With the penalties on most people are at least forced to play long enough for the killer to get a BBQ stack off of them and some points and it gives a little extra time for the other three playing as well. Not only that but it also wastes more time for the person dcing which means they won't be able to do it as often since they have to play it out a little. Even if they just afk the entire time, it's less games they get to mess up for other people.

Some killers don't even let you suicide on hook either. I've had people come right up to me and point to the hook, I just slug them or ignore them for the entire game. I've been on the other end as well, I've gotten really annoyed with my teammates who are god awful and I just wanted to be done with that game so I got the killers attention, pointed to the hook and he just shook his head and didn't kill me till last which was really annoying; as it should be as well.
