This was actually a bit of a debated topic a while back if memory serves. I find it mildly annoying if I'm running any kind of unhook perks but I'll still rescue them, unless they've done nothing all game or annoyed me a lot in some other way. In which case I am petty enough to leave you to die.
-
Here's the Dwight and Spirit outfits I'll normally use.
-
Dead Dog is pretty easy to 3-4 gen in that back corner. The loops there are also very bad excluding the house which as killer you can pretty much ignore most of the time.
Azarov's depending on how the map spawns, it is in my opinion the most killer sided map in the game. I've only gotten the map once or twice since the rework so I don't know if they fixed it but it used to be possible to have 4 gens spawn on one side with the middle gen spawning close to that side as well for a 5 gen hell that makes in near impossible to win as survivor. That was super rare though but it was pretty common to have 4 gens on a single side which is still just as bad if you overly guard them.
-
Had the same thing happen to me. If you get a great skillcheck, someone has that one perk I can't remember or the game just feels like it, it'll leave a tiny sliver of medkit left.
Edit: I was able to do the challenge though. Brought in a medkit and pharmacy. Took me 3 games if I remember right and it didn't seem like it counted some of my medkits but I wasn't really paying that much attention to if I actually used it up.
-
Use duration add-on's and hope they're together. If memory serves the last hit can be someone who already is in mending state. So you get your 4th hit and you can just re-hit the same guy for number 5.
-
Might just be where you live? I also play on PS4 and queue times are almost instant for both sides, little longer for killer atm. Even in a 2-man it's normally only a minute wait and that's around 2am.
Edit: Didn't read your thing properly. Yeah, it seems like with crossplay on you get put with other platforms more than your own. If you turn it off, you get near instant matches so it's hardly dying.
-
Congrats. I only have Skilled Huntress and 15 EGC sacrifices left for my 100%. Been working on the Huntress one a while and it's just awful. Even farming it's taking forever.
-
PS4 Can also confirm this bug. Here's a video showing it happen with some timestamps of notable changes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tu1kuCcKCo0:03 Readied up
0:15 Unready button appeared meaning it found a match for me to join.
2:10 Unreadied. Looking for match never disappears.
3:23: I join a game even though I an not readied up.
What I think is happening is the game finds a lobby for you to join but for whatever reason, it doesn't put you in which should give you a failed to join lobby notice and unready you. It doesn't and when you unready the game either it thinks you've readied up again or because the failed to join the lobby never procked, it just kept searching anyway even with the unready.
I could be way off of course but there's video proof at least.

To be fair, there is also this mystical thing called, "Looking behind you." Especially effective against huntress's and deathslinger's.
Okay? And? You can't look behind yourself the entire time you're in a chase and at loops where you can't see them it won't work. Not being able to hear a killer use their power is pretty awful. It's no different to when killers can't hear survivors make noise at loops, not counting iron will of course.
Not sure what point you're trying to make here?

So your saying it's easy to play killer due to bugs?
At the moment, extremely. Have you played survivor recently to see how bad it is? You can't tell the killers proper position because of the desync and sometimes the killers aren't making noise when using their power. Bubba revving his saw, Slinger reloading, Huntress readying a hatchet, etc.
It makes it nearly impossible to play a pallet and it's basically come down to throw everything super early, hope your team is on gens or you die.
-
Depends on who you ask. Some say he's still weak and others say he's amazing. Also depends on who's playing him.
Right now though every killer is in a great spot because of the desync and sound issues. It's pretty hard to lose as killer no matter who or how you play.
Once this is fixed, people will get a better idea.
-
Getting facecamped after leading them around way too long. Bonus points if it's EGC and you run out the timer.
-
The ping system sounds cool and I would enjoy that much more then the normal/proxy comms suggestion.
I don't really care much for the second idea although I'm all for the idea of some kind of slowdown early on or another objective.

Desync has 100% gotten worse since the update last week and isn't any better after today's update. I haven't played killer enough to notice the issue. I'm waiting for MMR to dive back into killer for more than just challenges. As survivor I have been seeing swings from 2-3 meters away land. I'm on console and am plugged directly into my router so it isn't an issue with my ping.
The other thing i've noticed is specifically Freddy. Does he have a sound bug atm? When i'm in the dream state he can be right next to me and his terror radius sounds like it's 10+ meters away. I've been caught out a few times because the sound is definitely deceiving. He has his red stain so he wasn't undetectable and i wasn't oblivious.
Sound bugs seem to be effecting a lot of different killers. I had a Bubba where I couldn't hear them rev the chainsaw when I was standing next to them, Blight sometimes doesn't make noise when bouncing off of walls, etc.

It not worse now, it looks worse because of these new hitboxes, but it's always been like this even when the game launched in 2016.
You can have 30 ping in your side, but if the Killer has, for example 100 of ping, this situation will happen: You drop a pallet, the game will send your action to the server, the server then sends this action and notifies all clientes(both other 3 survivor and the Killer), the Survivors will receive the notify action and the pallet will drop on their screen, but the Killer has a high ping! It's 100 of ping, so on his screen, the pallet will take some extra milliseconds to appear dropped and it's still up, and thats why he can hit you after you drop pallets. It's latency.
Of course the devs could do something with the hit reg. validation to negate hits if the Survivor is beyond a dropped pallet on the Survivor screen, but that on the Killer screen would look like the Killer clearly hit the Survivor but the hit won't register, so the Killer will kinda be "robbed". That's why it's hard to "fix".
But yeah, technically speaking, it's worse now but because of these new animations updates.
It's not a player based ping problem though, it's a server side issue that's causing the latency, desync, lag whatever word you want to call it.
Both parties could have 30 ping and it'll still have the killer just teleport or hit you from a mile away. Something server side is causing more then normal levels of latency on the survivor end. The game is basically treating survivors to 200+ ping no matter what their normal connection is.
The hitboxes themselves haven't changed at all if we're to believe them. We still have the same pill shaped hitbox and the killers all have the same hitbox on their weapon. Only the animations are different, nothing hitbox related has been touched as far as I'm aware.
-
I've also noticed some sound issues with the desync. Had a Bubba right next to me while I was looping a pallet at full health but I couldn't hear him rev up the saw. Scared the hell out of me when he just plowed right through me.
-
I use it to kill someone quick and normally it's only when I have the daily or the urge strikes me.
I actually used it yesterday but had a hard time with it because of the desync stuff or at least I'm guessing that was the cause. Everytime I got up to someone and tried using kill it pushed me back a bit and canceled it. Wen't through an entire t3 unable to kill a single person even though I was riding their ass the entire time.
I did get a kill later, on someone that was standing still and a tbagger at the gates which was hilarious but that was an awful match otherwise.
-
Red rank PS4 survivor and it's really rare for me to see the hardcore tunnel or camp that wasn't brought about by some reason. I've been facecamped and tunneled a lot but it's normally because I led the killer around for way too long or say I'm the first hook they got and 4 gens are gone. I understand those and think it's fine. In fact, I expect to be camped in those situations.
It's pretty rare I see an unprovoked hardcore facecamp or tunnel though. I'd say 1 in 10 games or so which I don't think is all that bad. When I do see them it's almost always someone that's lower ranked and they got thrown into a red rank game for some reason.

Huge difference between being completely useless and making dumb mistakes. Of course we all make dumb mistakes. We're talking about useless teammates who do absolutelyyyyyy nothing
As I said, it's not entirely their fault. The way the ranking system is, it's way too easy to rank up even if you die every game. Some people just don't learn very well but they play a lot and there you go, a rank 3 Claudette who Urbans everywhere and hides for 20 seconds when Spine Chill lights up once.
I agree I hate those kind of teammates as much as the next person but I can't hold it against them or get mad for the reasons I stated above.
There is also very little a person can do about it outside of playing super aggressive or super selfish.
-
I just laugh at their silliness and the dumb mistakes they make while carrying on with the game. It's solo queue, and everyone has both seen people do stupid stuff and been the one doing stupid stuff. It goes both ways and isn't really something that bothers me in the least.
As for an actual suggestion you could try using an aggressive build around keeping the killer busy so your teammates has all the time to do gens. If they do nothing all game, then that's okay as you'll probably be the first dead anyway and you won't have to sit in the match any longer. If you get good teammates then the gens will fly and they'll have your back.
If you really dislike bad teammates to the point it's starting to genuinely bother you then your best bet is finding a SWF on discord or wherever else that you can find people.
In my experience, expecting anything from teammates in solo queue is like playing polo and picking your team from randoms in the crowd and expecting them to know how to ride a horse. Sometimes you'll be surprised but most of the time it's disappointment.
It's not like it's their fault entirely either. Ranking can be all over the place and challenges can also have people throwing games. God knows I've thrown plenty of games doing challenges.
Not only that but some people might be doing perk wheel shenanigans, handicapping themselves for fun or doing who knows what to try and make the game more entertaining. Some people might just be messing around or even drunk which from personal experience is a pretty fun time.
It's because of things like that that I just can't be mad when I see people doing stupid things. Even if I do happen to get mad somehow, it's only ever for a couple minutes and then I'm over it and back to another match. I never carry it with me.
-
I didn't really notice any weird hits as killer but I've seen them as survivor quite a bit. Some hits look fine while others are just way off.
-
All big streamers rarely lose, whether they play killer or survivor in a group. Even solo survivor they tend to do well if it's a normal match.
People who play the game a lot tend to get good while the majority of players are bad or at least not nearly on that same level. It's not really all that surprising.
-
Anyone know if more then one will spawn? I found one early in a match but couldn't find any after that.
-
I almost always let the last person go unless I'm working on a trophy or a challenge. If someone crouches like they give up, give me their item or just does something really funny I'll let them go or start farming with the team.
I don't really take the game seriously so any excuse to just mess around and I'll take it. I find it really adorable when people just straight give up.

They may not be important, but they're examples of the fluidity in movement that used to be evident in the game. fast turning is really important for tight and unpredictable looping. Moonwalking and 360s are skill-based, rewarding, player-developed mechanics that have been in the game and beloved for years. Taking them out is frustrating and removes a part of the game that many players loved for no reason. I understand that it doesn't affect the console community, but if we're being real here, the PC community has been around the longest and is responsible for all the content that brings people to the game.
It's not like they're being removed for no reason. It's just a byproduct of the new animations and it's still technically possible to do both anyways. If anything, I think the new moonwalking is hilarious with how much the camera bobs around.
Also, I would hardly call moonwalking and 360's skill based. 360's are a I'm about to get hit so let's see if the killer is bad move, which admittedly works way too often. Moonwalking has no effect on gameplay outside of the funny dead hard dodge you can do. They were just fun little things you could do to mess around as survivor. As I said, it's just like the tbag point. I loved that and it sucks it's gone but I'm not about to leave the game over it as I've seen some people threaten to do.
So again, it sucks they're gone but they were hardly anything important. Also also, just because the game started on PC has no bearing on anything in this conversation. It just makes it sound like you're sad you won't get to see as many 360 montage videos.

You don't care about how they tampered with moonwalking and 360ing? Also curious how many hours you have on the game. Full transparency, I only have 400 hours.
The most dedicated parts of this community don't care about realism necessarily. They care about how the gameplay feels. The immersion and horror factor isn't the best part of this game if we're being honest. But maybe that's just me... I think most of the big hour players feel the same way, though.
Moonwalking and 360's are hardly important though? 360's tend to only work on bad killers or console killers with fps/aim dressing issues. Moonwalking while fun, also isn't anything important. Personally, I loved the tbag and point thing you could do and am bummed it's gone but it's nothing important. Same with this situation.
No opinion on the UI yet as I haven't played enough to get an opinion on it. Everything different is bad at first, got to give it time to settle. It's like if we had this current UI the entire time and switched to the old one, everyone would still be freaking out over it.
I'm generally finding all the changes to be fine, acceptable or at the very least tolerable. Around 1200 some hours on PS4 if you're curious. I also play both sides, about 60-40 survivor to killer.
-
747 hours. You can also use the time tracker bots that one dude on reddit made to keep track of hours, play sessions and such.
-
I'm still holding out for a killer that uses fire, either via a flamethrower, molotovs, or pyrokinesis. Lighting people on fire seems like a very horror thing to do and I'm assuming it'll happen one day or another.
A killer that uses wires I think would be neat as well. Either via traps or as a weapon of some kind.
As far as gameplay goes though, with all the killers we have almost all future powers are going to fall into some kind of similar category.
-
I don't really mind the normal stealth players as they either tend to do very little or it makes it easier to get others out of the game since they don't take aggro. When you do find them they also tend to be weak loopers. Yeah, they escape sometimes but it doesn't really bother me as I've killed their team and I'm not about to slug for a 4k. It's a win in my book.
What I do dislike is a team of stealth players. That ######### is not only extremely boring but depending on their/your skill and the killer you're playing, very difficult to combat. Had a match with a 4 man Blendette squad that took no chances on gens, alerted each other of my movements and did gens very slowly but consistently. I ended up winning since they were god awful loopers when I did find them but the match went on for near 20 minutes and they did get 4 gens done with the 5th being near done.
If they could have looped even a bit better or were slightly more aggressive on gens when I was chasing someone, I would have been destroyed. While I've never faced one, an optimal stealth team is very scary to think about and I'd honestly rather go against 4 very aggressive players anyday.
-
I've never read the books or anything but could you explain how Pennywise is too powerful to control when The Entity has time powers of some degree, reality creation, some kind of dimensional travel since it can visit various realities, some kind of life and death control since no one can perma die in it's realm, physical and mental corruption and I'm sure I've missed more.
The only thing really against it is that it's an embodiment of evil and doesn't appear to be sapient. The Entity honestly reminds of The Black Mass from Samurai Jack which required god's to defeat.
Again, I've never read the books so if Pennywise is some kind of godlike being then I'll stand corrected.

But if they added it and you had the option to turn it completely off then you wouldn’t have to worry about it being cringey. Just have it for friends like I say then you won’t have to deal with music or anything you stated. I’m not suggesting it become a major part of the game like it is in among us just a fun thing for friends in an SWF lobby. Coms are basically radios already I’d just stick to being in my party with my friend it’s the same, maybe making it so you have get it out of a chest then maybe but then it’s like Friday 13th and that walkin talkie.
I mean why not both.
Why not full on comms instead of proximity though?
Like, I just don't see any reason to add proxy chat when they could just straight up add full communication. SWF people will still be using discord or other chat options anyway since proxy chat is a lot weaker so this only applies to the majority of solo's in the first place. Why not just give full communication so the SWF's might consider using in-game chat.
I just can't see any good reason to have proxy over full comms in DBD.
-
While I agree it's a lot easier to get BP if you're playing killer it can still be easy to get BP as survivor if you bring a build around it.
Prove Thyself and do a gen with someone else and there's about half your objective done.
Detective's Hunch to find totems to easier max out boldness.
We'll Make It/Borrowed for easier altruism.
We're Going to Live Forever for obvious bp multiplier.
Bring a good medkit to heal yourself for some extra survival and so you can take protection hits while the killer carries someone. You can also switch out Detective's Hunch and another perk for say DS, Selfcare, or Deliverence to try and max survival even if you die. Even the perk that restores item uses could work as well.
Assuming you don't get tunneled out first and your teammates don't kill themselves you can normally get around 20k every game. Close to 30k or even max points with good games.
As for the actual topic at hand I disagree as it would only increase the sweat level of both sides. Survivors would want to escape more and Killers would want to kill more to stop the multiplier. Instead, they should just make WGLF easier to get tokens such as adding the second wind condition of healing an entire health state of someone.
-
If they ever add voice chat I'd rather it just be full on comms then proximity. They could even incorporate it as walkies talkies which a lot of people bring up. Any survivor that opts in will have a walkie talkie and they can talk to everyone else that has one. If you opt out then you just don't have one and can't hear what anyone is saying.
I personally find proximity chat to very cringey most of the time, whether it be people roleplaying their character, playing music or just being stupid with it. If they're going to add comms I hope they just add them and not be half-assed with it.
Sure, it can work with games like Among Us because it's more about secrecy then anything else but DBD just isn't like that and I can't see any reason to add proximity chat outside of it being popular with Among Us at the moment.
-
They've already said multiple times they're changing keys. It's just not this update. It might not even be the next update but they are getting changed eventually.
-
The clown one has yet to be seen but it seems more like a way to make him move faster which will give him some map control which is what a lot of people complained about.
Basically instead of throwing a bottle at survivors slowing them down, you throw bottles at your feet speeding yourself up.
Now how this will work in practice could be great or detrimental depending on how the other bottles go. If say you can throw a slowdown tonic faraway and speed tonic at your feet it could work out really well for the Clown, giving him even better chases then before and a way to get around the map faster.
Tbagging is fine. Taunting exists in almost every PvP game ever and it's something you need to get used to if you plan to play online.
Key's will be changed eventually. Everything else is worth it's own thread really and shouldn't be looped in with this update.
-
Hag.
She was the first killer I played and the one I enjoyed the most out of the roster at the time. As I played more though I just didn't enjoy the trap style lockdown play and I switched over to Oni instead.
I don't really main any killer per se as I play multiple of them but he's my favorite to play at this time.

It would be impossible. If there was only 1 gen left that could be repaired, the killer would never lose.
No, more like nobody on either side would win.
Very much agreed.
I've had games where I didn't get a single hook for 4 gens but had a really decent 3-gen with Pop and managed to pull a 4k. Even just repairing 6 of the 7 would make it nigh impossible to win as survivor.
The only way something like this could come close to working is maybe if they lowered gen repair time and made it so they don't regress anymore but that's only assuming 6 of 7. Unless you put in long range repairing somehow, you'd never beat a killer that just sits on it.

So i need help/ a ruling on the perk :power struggle.
So here is the example i just faced. two survivors left, with both of them down and near by exit gate at 99%. I hooked and killed one. I came back to the second one to see they crawled to a near by pallet and are waiting there. I assume that the reason they would do this was because the have power struggle ready. So I have the choice of waiting for 3 mins for them to bleed out, or eat the pallet stun and let them escape. Now that power struggle is a thing, i know its toxic to make them bleed out, but is it bannable, when now its part of the game?
BTW I did end up picking the player up, and yes she did have it, and yes she did escaped...
In that situation, the choice is theirs if they want to get picked up so just stare at them and wait. If they want the game to end they'll crawl out to you otherwise they'll be waiting for the bleedout timer just in case.
Also, slugging is not bannable in any fashion whatsoever. Lets say you're playing Bubba and by some miracle you down all 4 in a single chainsaw. You can leave them all on the ground and let them bleed out without having to worry about being banned. Is it a dick move to do that? Yes, very much so but it's not bannable in the least, no matter how much they might tell you otherwise.
-
I've seen some people say it's a waste of time but personally I find it a necessity in solo. In a SWF you can just ignore ruin since everyone will know whats going on and what gen is at what if you get chased off it.
The amount of times I've had a gen at 90 or so and get chased off by the killer only to come back and find it's at zero is heartbreaking. Most solo's don't stick on gens that hard as is so ruin is even more detrimental since they'll get chased off and lose what progress they did have as they do who knows what. Not only that but most solo's don't seem to know totem locations all that well either so they'll take ages looking for it themselves if they choose to.
If I'm solo and see ruin, I take a run around the map cleansing the totems I see and keeping an eye on what they're doing. Doubling up if possible to make sure a gen gets done if I see they started one. It only takes a minute to look for totems when you know their locations and it saves a lot more time then it loses.
In a perfect solo group where everyone knows what they're doing? Yeah you could ignore ruin but in normal solo queue it hurts more than it helps, at least from my experience.
-
Skilled Huntress no question. 100 24-meter downs is way too much and requires you to not only be really good at Huntress but your opponents to be really bad and you have to do it a lot. Very very dumb trophy. Outside of the new trophies this is the only one I need besides 1000 hatchets which is just time consuming.
Taking One for team. Whoever thought 250 unhook protections hits was fine is straight up insane. I only just got this and I've been playing for 2 years with probably close to 1k hours.
Left for Dead is one that is almost impossible nowadays unless the planets align. I got it only because a Billy decided to let me go the gracious soul.
4-man hatch escape was probably the toughest one just counting the platinum. Got this back before killer could close hatch.
Escaping Disturbed Ward without getting hit is also pretty bad since it basically requires you to hide all game and do nothing.
Killing all 4 surviors via Mori/Devour was also pretty annoying because of the dc's. It's not as bad now with disconnects but with the Mori nerf this one will be a lot harder.
-
You could bring Ace in the Hole as well as Pharmacy to guarantee a green medkit with add-ons. Then just check other chests and if you get a purple one or a better green one you could switch it up.
-
I can also confirm this is a semi-common occurrence bug. Maybe 1 every 4 or 5 games or so, sometimes more. Might be killer perk related? No video clip at the moment but I will update if/when I see it again.
-
It's a bug. No one has reported it yet though so I doubt they're even aware of it's existence besides the other thread earlier. If you have a video clip I'd report it.
-
I used the build a lot in matches going for the achievement and tested it in KYF multiple times and its never failed on me once. You can't use it if you're wiggling so you just have to spam your action button as you're being picked up and it should work.
Granted I'm on PS4 so maybe it doesn't work on PC or other consoles? My friend never had issues with it either.
-
I think the Lab is the only Nurse specific one outside of being able to get into funny spots on Midwich which I just learned is a thing apparently.
I'm curious as to what the Sanctum of Wrath Easter Egg is and I don't think anyone has found the Golden Toolbox on Midwich either. I believe those are the only two unsolved ones at the moment.
-
I think they should be asexual personally. Just jump right into the deep end and add one of the more controversial ones first that way it can only get better if it blows up in their face.
Asexuals get very little representation and can be outright dismissed so having an asexual be first over the other big letters would show they really care and aren't just doing it to do it.
A lot of people don't care about representation in a game like this anyway so choosing something a bit more out there could garner some attention. Adding a normal LGBQ character of any kind seems like a safe bet and I'd rather them go big.
-
They were a lot more common before his rework though still rare. As Bubba is now, he's a pretty decent killer so there is no need to camp or anything.
Back then, some people felt the only way to win was to facecamp and he was one of the best at it so they just played to his strengths.
-
Quite a few things but of the ones that come to mind at the moment.
-2nd stage struggling to be replaced with the Pyramid Head cage mechanic.
-Bots for custom match/single player custom match so you can practice killers or just look at the new maps.
-
If it succeeds, it denies the unhooker points, emblems, challenges, perks like deliverance, we'll make it and borrowed, and it wasted their time to come get you. Also, it's generally scene as toxic by most since it's usually done as a means to go "haha" to whoever tried to unhook you. You ever see streamers do it? It's to mess with their friends. When I do it with friends and succeed the first words out of my mouth is "get #########". Simply put, it's annoying with randoms since there is no reason to do it other then to deny the unhooker stuff and go haha about it.
Should the person leave you on hook if you try it? No, of course they shouldn't. I see it in a similar realm as t-bagging except if you succeed you can sometimes dick over a teammate depending on what they're running. It's pretty insignificant the majority of the time though.
On the extreme end of it, if you attempt to kobe and put yourself in 2nd state when someone is about to get you, you deserve to be left on the hook.
