Quentin is the only one other than mabye Laurie who needs actual changes, tho I hope we can get a separate face to have gremlin Quentin as an option when we get the new one

I appreciate that Laurie is in the game but she's clearly a case of being denied likeness rights. Which is weird because Jamie Lee Curtis absolutely relishes the role and is supposedly even into gaming. No idea why the person who agreed to star in Christmas With the Kranks would have a problem being in Dead By Daylight.

  • I personally think that it would be cool to have a smaller than average killer as well as a taller than average killer. There's two different playstyles right there: One of them can see over obstacles, the other can run at full speed while hidden behind them. Why not?

  • @shalo said:

You'll get 500 BP per day for a week and you'll like it!

That's like...a whole crap level toolbox!!!

  • I don't "expect" anything but I would really love to see a huge sale on all the cosmetics. Let the people who have only recently been able to get the game (and recruit more players in general) by cutting cosmetics in half or something.

Not my number one concern or anything, just something that I think would be a nice way to help celebrate the occasion and get some attention without necessarily giving away lucrative DLC for free. It's win-win.

  • I like the characters as they are. I like that Meg is sexy thin and Jane is sexy thicc. I like that there are white, Asian, Eastern and black characters. I like that some of the guys are studs and some of the guys are goons. I like that some of the ladies are busty and some of the ladies are flat.

The survivors all have personality to me. They're visually distinct and there is no one universal "type" between them. I would honestly be disappointed if any of them changed in appearance.

Pig is another Leatherface, where people will play her solely because she can guarantee a kill off of a single down. She puts a headtrap on, it activates after a gen is popped, and then she can tunnel that person the whole game, making it impossible for them to get the trap off their head, and guaranteeing the kill. It's petty, but that's how they want to play: settling for 1 kill. And they know that once the headtrap is on there's nothing the surv can do, like when Leatherface has someone in basement, so they're gonna be toxic and rub it in their face.

I personally haven't seen many pigs acting toxic, but most of them play scummy, as you said, and in the way I have described above.

While I believe all of this, I personally have never encountered such a thing. I don't have any particular issue with Pig players.

  • I just added the name in-game, thank you. The last time I tried to add someone their name didn't show up but I was probably trying it through Steam, I can't recall.

Top banter as always my friend 😉

So my tag is the same on here.

So I use xbox one. My game tag is SammiieK1991 🙂 don't forget to put "ii" in though and not just I lol x

I'll write it down and try to figure out how to do a cross-platform friend request. Whenever I send one it just looks for Steam names. I would assume that there's a way to add people from other consoles but I guess I haven't found it yet. It's probably a giant flashing button that I haven't noticed.

Hiya guys!, hope you're day and matches are going well ❤

So I have a question, I purchased Deliverance? With my shards last week, and its come up on fengs blood Web? ... seeing as I'm a blonde chick playing (literally ) I was wondering if it's worth me running? And what it actually benefits me for?... also Lithe?... I seem to be diving through the windows and still getting grabbed 😂... so would lithe benefit me in a way of just having that slight run in a chase?... I do enjoy a killer chasing my dear ol feng mins knickers as its great fun and gives my other team a few minutes to sort the gens or heal?... but I feel a bit sluggish when vaulting? Will that help? Or is it pointless. Never run these perks before so need some advice for my yellow rank ass 🤭😉

    Thankyou my darlings 😘❤

You're a blonde chick? All this time I just sort of assumed that you were a brunette dude, lol.

I got an invite yesterday but it was from a Randy something so I guess that wasn't you. I really need to just add your name. It's just kind of specific with the double I's and whatnot, I need to write it down. :P

  • Sadly you just have to learn to ignore it. Children will be children. I know that it's frustrating but there's nothing that can really be done (I wish that there was a mechanic in which you could block certain players from being matched with you again, or even just an option to disable in-game chat). EDIT: Apparently you can disable the chat? I never noticed. Fortunately I get more positive comments or none at all, but if I want to turn chat off it's good to know that I can.

To give you some hope I'm a survivor main and I think that what you describe is pathetic too. I never teabag or mock anyone post-game. I can also say that the only times I've gotten snotty comments were from survivors, never killers. That's anecdotal, but it's my experience. I guess for some reason this game invites a lot of people with a very juvenile mindset, who need to insult other people to feel better about themselves. Again, crappy as it may be, you have to accept that (just like in real life) you can't control the actions of others and have to just shrug it off when you meet people who suck. Think of it this way: They're anonymous internet strangers, they don't know you. Their ignorant opinions are based off of very little and should mean even less.

That said, anyone who uses the words "(very serious command)" should get reported, complete with screenshot of their comment. That kind of thing should be taken seriously.

  • I've said this before but it bears repeating: I've seen a 16 point deficit in the ranks before. 16 points on a 20 point scale. Someone (may have been me, I don't recall) was at rank 20, along with someone who was rank 4. That just shouldn't be happening.

Survive With Friends should be its own contained lobby, randoms should always be pitted against other randoms, and ranks should always be within 1, maybe 2 points at most. I read that the matchmaking is based on time played which is absurd, it should be based on W/L records or pretty much any other criteria.

It's not any tier. Once you unlock the teachable it has the chance to show up in other character's bloodwebs. You always have to go through tier 1, 2, and 3.

That's what I thought. I could have sworn that I read somewhere (apparently not in-game, but somewhere) that any of the tiers could show up. It's cheesy that for as "procedurally generated" the bloodweb is I've so far seen no evidence of teachable perks showing up before level 15 or 20, almost always competing with other good perks forcing me to choose. Plus Premonition and Deja Vu showing up constantly. I mean I prestiged Meg in the hope of getting some other characters' perks early on and she only just got the last one at literally level 47, so I might as well just prestige her a second time and do it all over again. Claudette is at level 50 and hasn't even seen the third tier of some of the perks I unlocked. I only unlocked maybe five in total, they shouldn't still be THAT rare.

  • The Spirit more than covers the J-horror theme as far as I'm concerned. Modern J-horror is so cliche and repetitive. "Oh look, another ominous pale Asian kid with black hair just kind of standing around. So much scare".

The Thing, The Fly, a vampire, a werewolf, Frankenstein's Monster, an ogre, a cult leader, Hannibal Lector, a crazy hobo, a ninja, a suited government assassin, one of the mutant children with sledgehammers from The Brood, etc. There are so many other characters I'd like to see before we get another "spooky" Japanese killer.

Not to bag on you, just my own preference.

  • I've noticed an increase in tunneling, yes. Tiresome to happen to be the first person that the killer spots and then get chased relentlessly even as I run past three other easy targets.

  • Can someone explain to me how and why the "boop the snoot" thing became popular? I'm not even against it in theory, it seems like sort of a touching of gloves in a boxing or MMA match, a show of sportsmanship, but...why is it a thing? How did it get started?

  • I have 8 million hours in the game and have unlocked the super secret hidden quadruple prestige as well as 68 perks that don't even exist yet. So there.

what do you mean? He fits in way better than nemesis or any other tyrant in the series. He can laugh and say stuff like trickster like in RE7 he has a shovel as a weapon, he can have some dumb power that I don’t care about because jack as a personality like trickster is what would matter the most. He fits the “killer” role better than any other RE “killer” if you’re referring to his transformation it doesn’t matter because every bad guy in RE has a big monster transformation it’s a cliche that’s been done in every RE game.

Well what I was mainly referring to is:

(RESIDENT EVIL 7 SPOILERS AHEAD. IT'S A GREAT GAME, YOU REALLY SHOULD FINISH IT FIRST BEFORE READING THIS)

The fact that he doesn't have any kind of signature weapon. You face him in the game three times (four if you include the End of Zoe DLC but that's ridiculous and completely undermines the main game anyway) and of those fights, one is in a car, one is in a chainsaw battle, and the other is as a massive monster. He'd have to just be "guy with weird deadly garden implement" to be true to anything that he did in the game, and that was only during a portion of it.

Then there's the fact that he has no signature power, other than regeneration. Jack's just an ordinary guy who can sustain endless damage until "cured" with a serum.

Which brings me to the most important point which is that Jack is just a normal guy, actually a totally decent guy, who only commits violence under the influence of Evie.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the LOOK of Jack - an invincible, shirtless, glasses-wearing 55 year-old former Marine - would be an awesome fit in this game. I just don't see how they'd get his story to work, how to give him a weapon or story that really makes any sense. In the overall RE mythos he's one of the more incidental characters, literally just someone on the sidelines who had the misfortune of encountering the true villain. I LOVE the character, and I absolutely 100 percent LOVE Resident Evil 7, so on paper I am totally on board with seeing Jack Baker in the game. It just doesn't make a lot of practical sense to me.

  • @Mr_K said:

The grind is bad all around. Why do we still have perk tiers?

Speaking of tiers, I guess I'm not the only one who has to level up teachable perks once they've been unlocked, am I? I think that the game says that once a perk is "taught", it can show up in anyone else's bloodweb in any tier. Yet no, I only ever see the perks starting at their basic yellow tier and have to buy them twice more to get the full effect. Has anyone seriously ever just randomly received the purple tier version of a perk in their bloodweb, ever?

  • Someone played a good Legion game tonight. He managed to hook me twice, both times I was rescued. Finally I was down in the basement trying to heal and he had the notion to come down there and see if anyone was there. He came walking towards me and I just knelt and lowered my head like "You win, I lose. Go ahead". To my surprise he stopped. After a second I looked up and him, ducked again and nodded to again say "it's cool, you won, I won't put up a fuss". Surprising me even further, he shook his head "no" and left the basement. Expecting a trick I slowly made my way up, and I think it was not long after that that the gates opened. We all made it out, and I don't know if he noticed it or not but I left him my medkit as a thank you as I left.

After the match he and I both almost simultaneously typed "GG!" and while I don't remember what else was said a couple of the other players basically said that they'd had fun. He said "y'all have a good rest of the night, lads". We thanked him. I ended with "Sportsmanship for the win".

I wish every match of DBD could be like this. It really makes a difference.

Yea it's good, but sadly when the servers decide to take a dump anyone caught in it gets a nice waiting ban for something they didn't even do which seems to just keep "Adding on" no matter how many games you played that day.

Yeah, that would be totally unfair and the devs should look into it. I thought that the game only detected an intentional disconnect when you navigate to the menu and confirm it. My network errors seem to be before or after a match for some reason.

I just want to say thank you to all of you who are not using breakdown in its current state. I have been blessed to have not experienced it yet. With all the negative post I've seen today ( including the one I just got out of) I thought it would be nice to have a positive one.

Ran into a very sportsmanlike Legion half an hour ago. This game is so much more enjoying when people are considerate of each other. You can play to win but a gesture here, a "gg!" there, goes a long way.

  • I've been disconnected twice too for some reason. Though the matches are queuing up faster than they did over the weekend, so I'm happy for that.

Oh ok. Honestly I have never played a Switch and cannot imagine trying to play DBD on something so small so I was curious as to the allure of it. I can barely tolerate playing card games on my phone (Note 20 which has a 1/2 inch bigger screen than Switch) let alone one like DBD lol.

It's a really sharp, crisp screen and when you're holding it (we're talking about the Lite, I don't know about the handheld version of the Switch itself) near your face to play it's actually pretty immersive. You'd definitely think that your eyes would strain, that the experience would feel significantly different, but it's actually pretty much the same thing.

There are some amazing games that run beautifully on the system: Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Monstrum, the Bioshock trilogy, the Borderlands games, a few Assassin's Creeds, the last couple Saints Rows, the modern Doom and Wolfenstein games, all the modern Resident Evil games up through 6, etc. For a handheld it's actually amazing, and this is coming from someone who's turned his nose up at Nintendo for the last 20 years.

This is how the game looks and plays for me. Nice and smooth, no major issues. Keep in mind the game has also been updated to match the PC version, it no longer has this old UI and other such things.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY8hXNExfQ4

  • I have absolutely no idea why my experiences are different. Well, I do and I don't. First, everyone I've heard talking about the game on Switch - I mean EVERYONE - says that the game actually performs better in handheld mode, strangely enough. I have a Switch Lite and the game has not frozen or had sudden massive framedrops at all. Granted I've only put 20 or 30 hours into it but that should have been enough to have seen something wrong by now. I haven't, it's essentially a pocket version of the exact same game with everything looking, sounding and playing exactly like its PC cousin (minus the lower framerates and requisite reduced textures on clutter and so forth).

I've said this elsewhere and I don't repeat it to brag but to make a point: I got a 4K with Michael on the Lite, with crossplay on, while standing up and leaning against a wall inside the entrance of a brightly-lit Walmart. I've only got like 250 total hours in the game, and that was only my second 4K ever. I rarely ever play as killers yet I managed to completely own that match. My point is that if I, as a new player who rarely uses killers can use one of the mid-tier ones to get only my second 4K in 200-odd hours of gameplay, then surely the handheld version of the game is playable.

    4k.jpg

I know that people hate the drop from 60 fps to 30 but honestly, beyond that, playing the game on the Lite is the exact same experience for me. I've gone from PC to Lite or vice versa, depending on various circumstances, and I'm really not noticing much difference at all. You guys are NOT the only ones to say that the performance is bad, I just, for some reason, absolutely cannot say the same. Try playing in handheld mode if you haven't yet. I know you may not want to, but see if it at least makes the game play better for you. Supposedly it will.

Yeah it literally comes up with 1 miketheratguy on the xbox one lol so wasn't too sure.

If it shows as having played any WWE games, that would be me. :) I was working with THQ at the time. Other than that I'm trying to think...Perfect Dark, Crackdown, Red Dead Redemption, any combination of any of those games. Those were probably the last ones I played. The last time I recall exchanging any messages with the account was probably around 2012 or so. That might help. Either way, unless they delete old unused accounts that's definitely me. Remember though, I play on the PC and Switch Lite so I'm not sure how someone on a different system adds a friend. I'm new to cross-play.

The chapter came out with like half it's perks not functioning properly and The Twins being incredibly buggy. Victor would literally become one with the floor and would be rendered useless unless killed. It was bad.

Ooh. Yeah, I can see that as being a bit problematic. Have people just shunned the Twins ever since? When I first sat down to start downloading the DLC she was high on my list, she just seemed very cool and unique. It was only when I started reading the forums that I learned that she's more or less universally dismissed.

Then again I hear EVERYONE praising Freddy and I've gone against him just as few times. I don't get it.

Now that is a great match, that's the only time I expect a long ass match to happen. Oh and also I've tried to add you via my xbox and found a name exactly like yours but no idea if that's you or not ! 🤣😂

If not my tags the same as my user name on here. 😂

Yeah there's definitely a difference between a boring half-hour match and a competitive half-hour match. This was one of the best matches I've ever had, hands down. It felt like a balanced, back and forth contest, going right down into several minutes of overtime when we couldn't get the doors open with Michael running them.

When you search for a name on Xbox does it search for Xbox gamertags? Because I do probably still have an old, not very developed miketheratguy profile on the 360. Either way I'm miketheratguy pretty much everywhere, I think I'm the only one. :P Either way I'll look for your name as well.

  • I was against a Michael tonight. The match went 25 minutes exactly. That's because he was good, so were we, and there was CONSTANT running around, cat and mouse, doing gens, being chased away, losing gen progress, unhooking each other, healing downed teammates, etc.

In the end it was just me and one other person and we were desperately trying to get one of two generators done that were a pretty fair distance from each other. Michael was just way too fast, always on the move. Also very good at spying and sneaking. Ultimately I made the escape by the skin of my teeth via the open hatch.

I loved it, it was a great match.

Their awful launch left a really bad first impression and first impressions are everything. Their most popular play style is hard slugging so that's also a big turn off.

Idk they're just not very appealing apparently.

I wasn't here for their launch. What was that like? How did it go wrong? What was the initial impression?

  • He's annoying to look at.

    He's annoying to listen to.

His greatest skill is annoying to be peck-peck-peck-peck-peck-peck-pecked by.

Upon release everybody chose him way too much.

Every single other killer is more interesting.

He sucks and is worthless and I hate him.

  • I've had both and to be honest they're equally annoying. Sitting there on the hook being face-camped is really not much fun. At the same time, I've been getting saved by a LOT of players who either don't notice or don't care that the killer is RIGHT behind them. Even if I AM the one who gets away once the unhooking completes, it's not as if the killer isn't going to come straight for me next, just a couple of seconds behind me.

I mentioned in another thread that I wish there was an "NO!" button which would trigger an animation like sweeping your hands past each other to signify "I appreciate it but no, this isn't the time".

  • As much as I like Jack, and love Resident Evil VII, I'll say without spoilers that he wouldn't fit in all that well with the rest of the killers in this game.

  • I've been playing the game for about 6 weeks. I've faced her probably 6 or 7 times at most. It's a shame in a way, I like her design. And seeing that little freak Victor running around, frothing and gurgling the way he does, is creepy. Far more unique killer than a KPop goon who likes to stab people.

  • I don't know why but have a pretty high escape rate against the Nurse. Maybe because I do a lot of sneaking? I don't know.

The Spirit on the other hand. She can get nerfed and the tip toward OP territory that they just gave the Wraith could stand to be dialed back to how it was before as well.

Ok that I get.. But when a survivor is downed and another survivor decides to dance around in front of me I am NOW going to chase that other survivor no matter how many gens are left. I don't get where the entitlement of ohh you downed me you HAVE to pick me up no matter what comes from.

Nah, THAT slugging scenario is perfectly reasonable.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

I understand this is a point of contention, but seriously, when you do three gens and loops the killer for the other two just to get abandoned by your teammates on hook is one thing, but to get less points than the player who did nothing all game just because they escaped and were the obsession is a slap in the face.

Killers are pushed to tunnel if they want to make enough points to make the match worth it, and survivors utilize every trick in the book and play as dirty as they can just to prolong a single chase.

Don't base rank around gameplay, base earnings around gameplay, and increase the cap

make players better at the game without being forced to use dirty tactics and cut down on the grind at the same time

That exact situation just happened to me two or three nights ago. I was going around doing gens and popped 2 or 3, eluded the killer a couple of times, did a couple of unhooks. I kept noticing the aura of a Claudette just kind of moving from hiding place to hiding place throughout the match. I was annoyed, but what can I do?

Finally I get hooked to struggle state and her aura is RIGHT beneath me, like 100 feet away in the basement of the Badham preschool. She just stood there motionless the whole time as I struggled. Turns out she'd found the hatch. I wait to see the final score and she gets more points than I do, for having done literally nothing. That's some bullshit.

  • Thank you! I figured "I'm gonna get 100,000 + BP for these three rituals, plus whatever else I get by doing some chasing, stabbing and the occasional hooking (followed by my immediate running away). No reason to sweat these people, we'll all get ourselves some points today. Everyone wins.

It honestly felt really great. In one of the three matches there was an attempt at teabagging as the group of four stood at the gates but I just stood there and nodded. They all stopped what they were doing, confused, and I nodded again. A couple nodded back, I walked away, and they left. I messaged "Just doing a ritual today, enjoy your BP everyone". Several people said "gg" and one of them thanked me.

It was cool. It's the kind of "play for fun, not for winning at all costs" situation that I wish I could experience more often.

I did three rituals last night and let all the survivors go. It felt nice. :)

  • One is one times too many.

  • I don't mind being slugged if the killer then runs off to do something else. I have fun trying to figure out a spot to crawl to where he might not see me. Plus there is, of course, the chance for another teammate to find and heal me.

It's the slugging and camping, especially if I'm the last survivor, that's scummy. Just play the game and let us both move on with our lives.

  • I still hate everything about him, I know that much.

You gotta pay extra attention vs wraith and if you’re not running spinechill be sure to have an out in mind. He’s going to get a free hit on you pretty consistently but he’s quite weak at anything above the smallest of loops and you can just run him around while your team does gens. If he’s smart he’ll leave you alone after the free hit and will look for a weaker target who’s out in the open or by a small loop/unsafe pallet.

I used to run Spine Chill but I quit because I felt that it was too situational, I figure that with some aura and speed perks I don't need it. I don't want to have to use it just for one or two sneaky killers but you ARE right, it would help against Wraith.

I just don't understand why they felt the need to buff him. Why take away the one fair trade to making the guy invisible? I'm fine it he's invisible as long as I actually have enough time to run when I hear that bell. Now I don't even hear the bell. It's super cheap, and I'm going against him far more now than I was before.

Huntress is only ‘balanced’ when her hitboxes are actually fair. Unfortunately, 9 times out of 10, they are not. At least with Slinger, his shots seem to hit when they should and miss when they should (for the most part). With Huntress, her hitboxes are consistently awful, for both sides mind you. I’ve seen so many instances of a Hatchet literally phasing through a survivor and not hitting them and on the other hand, I’ve seen instances of someone who’s playing Huntress themselves saying ######### like ‘that probably shouldn’t have hit’. She feels pretty damn cheap to me but I suppose if you don’t mind super wonky hitboxes then she’s mostly fine.

Deathslinger is just annoying to face by the way. He’s actually fairly weak in my opinion as all he has is the 1v1. He has zero mobility and he doesn’t have any timesavers like Pyramid head’s cages. If the survivors play smart then they can fairly easily get at least a 2-3 man escape, even if Noed comes into play. The main complaint from what I’ve seen typically isn’t that he’s OP, just that he’s boring.

I don't mean to repost this video (I posted it in a different thread yesterday) but it's a good demonstration of the fact that I seem to either have good luck dodging most (certainly not all) of Huntress' hatchets, or I don't seem to encounter the same collision issues that others have mentioned. When someone says that the hatchets have a hitbox the size of a Cadillac I believe that there must be an issue, yes, but the experience in this 2 minute video here are generally how it is when I face her (and thus haven't been able to see her as overly cheap yet). Hope it stays that way, lol.
