I'm glad you think doing 3 gens in 2 minutes and then having the game already won is fun. In the meantime I will keep camping and tunnel-moring keys. Bonus points if they complain at the end about it.
Die mad about it.
-
It doesn't force you to bring an ebony mori, but I'm glad you think tunneling people off the first hook is fun and somehow discourages people from using keys.

I understand the frustration too, don't get me wrong, it's just that they're directing their anger at me when they should be directing it at the devs.
You were aware of it and continued to use it to your advantage. Survivors being unable to play vs you using another hook doesn't even compare. You're not the victim here.
-
I hope they are on console because I'm tired of losing on BP and challenge credit because killers DC as soon as we power the last gen.
-
It's coming into play in almost every game I play. Escapes are suddenly much harder (except of course for the Blendettes who don't even plan on playing). I'm incredibly frustrated and hope they give us some extra time on the rift challenges because this is destroying games for survivors. But hey, killers are sure happy.
-
It's not your fault but I can kinda see how survivors would be frustrated by it, and knowing you're aware of it and are doing it anyway, ehhh. Kinda scummy. Also just turn off messages from randos until it's fixed if it's such a problem.

I don't care about getting a 4k every time, I just don't like the fact that killers get way more punishment from perks than any survivor gets from ANY of the killers perks. You can't even counter play many of the survivor perks, again slugging is not countering.
Hard to enjoy a game when it leans so heavily to one side.
Don't play it if you don't enjoy it.

Is it possible that he's just not the kind of killer that you can necessarily pick up and be brilliant at straight away?
He's been out less than 24 hours, after all. Most people don't really know what they're doing with him yet. It's more likely that the problem is with how you're playing him rather than with the design of the killer.
I played about 10 games as survivor against the Oni today at red/purple ranks. Almost all of them were 4Ks - I personally only escaped twice, and one was through the hatch out of sheer blind luck. The second time, I was the only one who escaped.
It's possible that I'm just bad at surviving against the Oni, as were all my teammates, but he doesn't seem anywhere near underpowered to me. My first impression is that he's a solid A-tier, at the very least.
Agree with this.
I got my butt kicked quite regularly by the Oni and he didn't even have all his perk slots full or max level perks. Before you call me a noob, I'm a red rank survivor main. Especially on console, maybe we all need some time to learn how to play and counter him?
-
Especially since protection hits don't give stacks like they're supposed to, at least not on console.
-
Sometimes there will be games that you don't get a 4k. Sometimes it will be because of one perk. Do you know how many games there are where that one perk doesn't come into play? Maybe try to have fun playing the game and not let something you can't control ruin it for you?

Obviously, the neon Nea thing is an exaggeration, but if you were wearing Nea's basic clothes or prestiged clothes, you could definitely not be spotted for a good while.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/889807#Comment_889807
Yeah, the new map isn't that good :/
It's super dark and has a lot of cover, it's huge, hurting M1 killers and Huntress even more due to lack of map pressure, and those statues are creepy :(
Maybe if I were an immersion Nea but I don't Urban Evade the games away. I don't run and of her prestige clothes. I'm usually in her ugly sweater and shorts.

Don't forget they made maps darker across the board, making maps like Yamaoka Estate a complete heaven for stealthy survivors, especially Sanctum of Wrath. With all the bamboo, shrubs, and now that the maps are even darker you could probably walk past a neon Nea.
I'm a Nea main, I'm not getting passed by on that map, believe me. Haven't powered the gens even once on that map.

I know I'm unhappy about how freaking dark that map is as a survivor (I can't stand Blendettes). Every time I load into it I'm shocked by how dark it is.

I wish it were only one person. I'm rank 3 as of this morning and I'll be the only one NOT running it. I just think of it as a killer perk now.

I want to see the new map but I've gone to Hawkins, Lery's, and The Game as Oni all day because of people burning offerings.
Are you burning your own offerings? That could help. Forget the map, I'd like to go against the new killer. I've had two games in like three hours but it's been like one hour of gameplay with errors and disconnects and matches cancelled and Looking for match because the better you are, the harder it is to get a ######### game.
-
In my experience, every killer I play against in SWF is rewarded for it. I'm a level four and my friends are 15-17. A red or purple rank killer vs a 15, 16, 17, and a 4 is pretty nice for them, I imagine. We can play for hours and not power all five gens a single time. I've been playing solo for the last few days, and I'm not kidding - every single game all five gens are done and the gates are opened, and the worse game was only one person made it out. I know there are the so-called toxic swf's out there, but there are times when it greatly benefits the killer too.
-
I support you, Future Shirtless Ace Main.
-
Oh come on, I love losing out on that escape BP as soon as the last gen is powered. I'm getting to the point where I know which killers are going to DC and I just wait for it now.
-
I don't know what's going on with medkits. I brought in a yellow medkit with add ons to get it to 32 charges and only got one heal out of it. I'm am confusion. Now I'm just using them when I happen to find them in a chest, I don't bring them in anymore because I don't know how to read, apparently.

Ivory Moris are pretty fair imo, or at least as fair as hatch keys. Ebonys suck the life out of the game but again you could say the same about hatch keys. Moris should really be a built in mechanic when someone gets hooked twice. Purely for flair.
The amount of games with moris vs keys doesn't even compare in my experience, nor does their use in game.

honestly if you're not to far into it, do the killer side first the survivor side is completely not worth it right now.
I'm at 23.
But after more than four hours, I got one! Then the killer proceeded to slug everyone at four gens! What fun.

I like when I see a Ghostface coming, let go of the gen, watch him take 2-3 more steps towards me, and then I'm grabbed. LOVE IT SO MUCH

@SupaSlay3r20 said:
The main difference with ghostface is that he can be taken out of stealth, and it has a decently long cooldown. Ghostface also has to be in stealth to have access to his main power (stalking). Pig and Myers have abilities other than their stealth, with pig having RBTs and Myers having EW3.
But doesn't taking him out of his stealth reveal your location to him? Most of the time, Ghostface finds me because I found him. I find that incredibly frustrating that I reveal my location by looking around the map. Not to mention 50-60% of my games every time I play are Ghostface and I'm so bored I'm playing the game less and less.

Underrated killer perk: self care ;)

Got #24 but the killer DC'ed so I didn't get credit.

Took me 4 hours, roughly below 2 unhooks on average per game it also bugs for some reason.
I'm insanely jealous you're able to get that many games, to be honest. Currently 11 minutes into looking for a game and still waiting...
I'll just start playing like everyone else and do nothing but unhooks.
-
It's taking me more than half an hour to get a game with just slow times on top of dodges. The game is just unplayable for me lately. Not only does it take forever but the games are miserable with everyone acting different for challenges. This tome is ruining the game for me.
Not one unhook in more than three hours but to be fair, probably half of that is waiting to find a game.

Yeah I'm not even playing the first week of new tombs
I was at 22 when the night began so I figured I'd get at least that one done just through normal play but nope.
-
I love it as Trapper.
-
I hate that it's changing the way people play. I normally get a bunch of saves every game. It seems most people are happy to sit on gens and play it safer, and I like going for rescues and getting chased. I've had several games where I make literally every save because no one else tries. This first challenge? I can barely get a save in five games now. People are not doing gens, they're just running empathy and getting saves for the challenge. I have now stopped going for saves and just stay on gens since 99% of people only care about challenges and not even trying to win games. Killers play differently too because of the challenges. It's just making the game less fun for me and I'm probably not the only one.
-
I honestly don't know why so many people let the post-game chat make them angry. If you want to say GGs to try to be a good sport, say it and then leave. Why read these messages if they're so toxic and going to bother you? You have the ability to not participate in the chat, so don't.
-
Just got four in one game without BT. I wish I would get that many in every game. Woof. I kinda wish this tome hadn't been introduced, not gonna lie.
-
I have a couple friends who aren't done with it either. Don't feel bad.
-
Agreed. The pathing is going to make this tome a nightmare. This might be the point where I just stop doing challenges and seriously doubt I'll buy the next one.

Well it should be pretty obvious by now anecdote evidence does not mean anything.
And yes SWF does change the game significantly. If you're just couching it up with friends that is still a better position than being a solo survivor. Now add in people who are good at the game (i.e., abusing loops/mechanics) and can finish a generator in the fastest time possible x4 and suddenly the game is completely different.
Some killers (not players) can handle a SWF group that is being toxic/sweaty. Some just don't have the tools in their base kit and even addons to tackle and actually win against a SWF unless the survivors are making a large amount of mistakes.
So to reiterate; Just because you have faced SWF before and killed them doesn't mean they aren't a problem and it shouldn't be addressed. If Nurse is an addressable problem and she was only good on 1 platform and in 1 rank why can't we fix an issue that affects all players on all platforms at all ranks?
And I have to say it, it is beyond stupid to post a SINGLE match you have had and put it up on display like it's some sort of divine truth. It's one single game. They might've been potatoes, they might've been giving it to you, there are so many possibilities and you want to chuck it all up to your skill and nothing else. Riiiiiiiiight.
I'm not even sure what to say to all this. "...it is beyond stupid to post a SINGLE match you have had and put it up on display like it's some sort of divine truth." What single match did I try to say was divine truth? I'd say 99% of my SWF games make it easier on killers, even with us being able to communicate. I'm a red-purple rank survivor and my friends are 16-18. Our games match us with red and purple rank killers. If we're playing for a few hours a night three days a week as a SWF, that certainly isn't a single match that's divine truth. My games have far more escapes as a solo survivor than I do with SWF and I can't be the only one. We can play for hours as a SWF and not power the gates once. When I play solo, we can get several games in a row where the killer gets zero kills. So what do you want the devs to do? Even more BP than BBQ gives you? Or do you just want it removed from the game? I imagine killer queues will be atrocious when survivors stop playing.
-
@RobMeister88 said:
SWF doesn't do anything besides letting people enjoy games with their friends. Instead of asking the devs to do something, just outsmart an SWF. If you know how to end loops and apply pressure to gens, then SWF groups shouldn't be able to change the game that much. I took out a 4 man SWF as Myers with scratched mirror. Not a single gen was done that match, and I didn't tunnel or camp.
Gotta agree with this.
I played this game solo for months and only recently started playing with friends. Most games, we only get 2-3 gens done. Just because we're SWF doesn't mean we're good (or toxic), and many times we've given killers more kills because we try to make an unwise save to help a friend. I've played a fair amount of killer games against good SWF or at least much better than I am as killer and it's not always fun, but there's nothing I can do about it so I'm not going to get worked up about it.

I've come across several God Tier Nancies but not a single God Tier Steve yet. Not sure why they'd dodge him.

I certainly feel like the proverbial red headed stepchild playing this game on console.

Some of the challenges promote bad play, the biggest culprit was ‘unhook 15 survivors’ as every time someone was hooked there was 2 or 3 players crouched round the hook, fighting for the point towards their challenge.
The specific killer ones could be annoying to play against, I’m sick to death of playing against Trapper every game because everyone is trying to get the challenge done.
Some survivors were bringing in Small Game and sabotage kits to specifically prevent the challenge being completed.
Just a few examples but there are repercussions to these challenges that it doesn’t seem the devs have considered.
It's funny you said that survivors were preventing the challenge from being done because I've never seen so many Plagues as when the challenge to heal teammates came out. Weird.
-
Don't read the chat. Boom, problem solved.
-
Got one game after they were "fixed" and then couldn't get back in. Very frustrating. Especially since it was an anal beads Spirit with an "ultra rare" ebony mori.
-
I kinda wish they'd just remove map offerings. It can give a huge advantage to whoever decides to use one that I don't think is fair to either side.
-
@Apackawolves said:
Survivors always have an excuse when they lose. Most of them are toxic anyway, so NOED is just a green light for them to impose their toxic attitude on you after the match. Especially SWF groups. If they can’t bully you in the match they’ll try to bully you in the chat. And if they’re not whining about NOED, they’re whining about some other perk or addon. Or they’ll redefine the meaning of camping/tunneling to whatever suits their mistakes best. That’s why I don’t tailor my perks for them. I’ll use whatever I want. If they don’t like it, too bad.
And here you are, whining...
-
So "punish survivors who rush generators" means survivors who do the objective of the game? I don't mind NOED. Run it all you want, killer mains. I'll be Small Gaming my way to freedom.

Play him for a number of games and you’ll see for yourself.
He’s got the best stealth in the game and screws over survivor stealth by revealing anybody foolish enough to look in his direction.
Nah, I'm a survivor main, and I also refuse to pay one cent for a killer that is ruining the game for me.
And it seems that the best part of Ghostface is that he finds survivors by survivors finding him? If that's what you mean by being foolish enough to look in his direction.
-
It does suck when the killer facecamps. Yes, the other survivors can do gens and punish that killer but there's literally nothing that person can do if the killer decides to take them out of the game that way. I wish it happened less but it's pretty common. There's no good solution.
