  • I didn’t say every survivor is like this, I said most. And it’s true.

  • I’m not saying that at all. I’m just saying that killers who have to invest time into charging their ability are going to be more likely to slug so they get the most use out of it, instead of wasting it carrying people to the hook. I understand your frustration, but you are playing on the ptb....

No, but Billy and Spirit can, yet they aren't running around slugging everyone. Billy, once mastered, has to be one of the easiest to run around doing exactly that Ride around and down someone, step on the gas and do it again. But agian this doesn't happen anywhere near as often as Oni.

They have an unlimited power though, it’s not the same. Oni Myers & GF have to commit time to charging their ability, which is a very precious resource in these days with gens popping so fast.

I played this game on console back in mid 2017. You should have seen how bad it was then.

Now I play on PC. And to be fair, the game has improved quite a bit on console since the early days (I know this because I still check occasionally).

Not to mention, the devs are giving away a bunch of free cosmetics to all players. So I wouldn't say the devs don't care at all.

You must have memory loss. I’ve played since 2017 myself, and the lag has NEVER been worse on console than it is right now. It’s TERRIBLE. I was in a lobby the other day and I couldn’t even get my items and offering on before the match started because my cursor was moving so slow and teleporting around to the wrong items. It’s ridiculous.

  • @Kenidur said:

this new killer is promoting one of the more annoying play styles, slugging. I got into test and was enjoying it at first, Killer was learning how to play, we were learning how to counter him.

Couple days in, game is still enjoyable, with a slug match about 1 in 10. The other 9, killer had Ruin, BBQ, gotten better, and yes, was killing us, or we were surviving and getting out. but either way, we all were enjoying it (FYI his mori is disgustingly beautiful.)

Today, 8 games run, 6 sluggers, 1 Tunneler.... most common reason given by the killer for slugging, "If I pick someone up, my power is depleted entirely!" 1st off, it isn't, you keep about 15 to 25%. 2nd, You can gain back the power very quickly, especially if you've hit players already, 3rd, this exact same excuse can be applied to Myers, Ghostface, and several other killers, yet you won't see it that much in them.

of those 6 games, 24 survivors in total, about 14 disco'd, myself included on 3. the other 2, one hoped for a lucky hatch, Others just went AFK and waited until it was over. So how is this fun for the survivors? If this is how the game is going to be, If you're going to continue rewarding killers for this play style which gives nothing to the survivors, then why continue to play?

Myers and Ghostface can’t cover large distances quick like Oni though. If the survivors are within range, any big brain Myers or gf is gonna keep downing people until their power runs out. I think that’s pretty obvious.

  • Gotta admit. Putting balanced landers in the basement after a Myers house infinite gone bad, is one of the most satisfying feelings in the game. Especially if they used a strode key. And then face camping them because SWF groups are incapable of letting their friends die without making a rescue attempt. Because let’s face it, everyone saves their strode keys for SWF.

  • Call me crazy, but I didn’t really mind the old MoM that much. The way I viewed it, you already have to land 20 or so hits to win a match give or take a few, depending on which killer you’re playing. So you have to get a couple more, big whoopty whoop. Most people wasted it anyway, or allowed themselves to be in a bad position they wouldn’t normally find themselves in just to get stacks. Because if they didn’t get it until they were on death hook, it was game over. They would have to spend the rest of the match injured, or permanently reveal their aura. I won a ton of matches because of that aura reveal coming in clutch at the end. Don’t get me wrong, it could be a serious problem with insta heals. But, on its own...meh. I wasn’t too worried about it.

  • Survivors always have an excuse when they lose. Most of them are toxic anyway, so NOED is just a green light for them to impose their toxic attitude on you after the match. Especially SWF groups. If they can’t bully you in the match they’ll try to bully you in the chat. And if they’re not whining about NOED, they’re whining about some other perk or addon. Or they’ll redefine the meaning of camping/tunneling to whatever suits their mistakes best. That’s why I don’t tailor my perks for them. I’ll use whatever I want. If they don’t like it, too bad.

  • Same here.

Stop crying? Let me get straight. If you dump 15 million bloodpoints into a killer and the devs decide to come along and break that killer because they’re “over performing”, you should just keep your mouth shut? Yeah okay. Survivor logic at its finest.

  • Legion is over performing, I suggest that when he misses with frenzy all of his perks are deactivated and removed from the bloodweb.

  • Who doesn’t like playing hide and go seek with the wraith tho??

  • I just wait until everyone’s connection has stabilized and then I hit ready. If I see some items that make me feel uncomfortable, I slap on franklin’s and sacrifice their items to the entity.

if you genuinly think this game right now is full blown survivor sided then youre clearly lost and need to get better. survivor QOL is HORRID right now and its never been easier for killer. get better.

Get good? That’s your suggestion? Rofl. You do realize I play both sides? I could literally say the same thing thing to you. Because whenever I play with my friends, we hardly ever lose. What is horrid about your QOL? The new medkits that heal you faster WITH sloppy butcher than the old ones did without it?? Are you suggesting the new the perks like inner strength aren’t amazing? What are you talking about, exactly? Because if you’re talking about the manner or aggressiveness in which killers play right now, I could give you a few hints why they do that.

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Where did you hear they were making a teacher killer? Detention files? If so that's old news.

I don’t know where they get the info from, but it’s been circulating around the leaks community for the last few weeks. I’ve heard about it from multiple sources. I understand it’s old news, but apparently new information suggests they might be actually be considering it. And there was a recent interview with one of the devs that was pretty suggestive.

  • @VincentRedfield said:

If this game was as survivor sided as you think killers would not be griping "i waited in que for 30 mins to find a game!"

I’ve played for 2 years, and I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait more than 5 minutes to find a match as a killer. Ever.

  • Rank, generally speaking, is an indication of monthly activity. That being said, the more you play the better you get. So, it kind of goes hand in hand in a sense, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. This game has been around for a long time, and there are many degrees of skill level.

Whenever i play survivor killers always get some BS hits on me, but at killer i cant hit survivors that are 100m from the window. Is it the angle that im approaching the from, or is it that i need to aim higher?

Also yes i know im exaggerating the range at which killers can hit survivors through a window, but im just asking, how do i hit survivors that finished the vault animation. i want a taste of the weird hitbox hits.

It’s just latency. On your screen it looks like a BS hit, but on the killers screen it usually a clean hit.

  • If I have it, I use it. Unless I’m running some sort of gimmick build for fun.

Edit: I would say I run it about 90% of the time

  • I love mindbreaker. I love that the devs created a perk dedicated to exhausting a survivor for 1 second, if certain conditions are met outside of a chase.

  • The game lags so hard on ps4 you can taste it. Soon as I start the game the fan kicks on, it sounds like a jet engine prepping for takeoff. I’ve also noticed when I play killer the game freezes for about a half a second when I get close to survivors at the beginning of a match. It’s a giveaway that I’m in the right area, kind of like a built in whispers. I’ve also noticed since the hallowed blight event that the red needle on the skill checks moves faster or slower depending on how much lag you’re getting, it’s very inconsistent and it makes it much harder to get in that zone where you’re nailing great skill checks.

A fast question got you guys. Are we supposed to get only 1k BP from the event gens ? Cause I don't know if it was a dream but I thought I saw sometihng like 3k or 4k yesterday for a gen or was it my eyes ?

It’s supposed to be 3000 if you used pestula pedals. I don’t know what it is without them.

  • I’m actually confused about this event. Because they said they removed the cankers from the event, in favor of generators due to feed back from the community. BUT. I distinctly remember after last years hallowed blight event. They said the cankers were so well received by the community that they were actually considering options to implement a similar mechanic in normal game play. I don’t get it...

  • I love the sound effect when a survivor is immediately sacrificed to the entity on their 3rd hook.

You know that's a great idea.

    Priming and sabotaging on spot.

Do you play on ps4 by chance? I played with a guy with your name the other day, I don’t remember if it had 0402 at the end or not. But I definitely played with a guy named Wolfgamer. Just curious.

  • I find these changes extremely disappointing. Myers has been my favorite killer for almost 2 years, and Scratched mirror was my favorite build. I don’t understand how some people don’t get how bad these changes hurt him if people are actually running those perks. He’s the second slowest killer in the game, and he has virtually no lunge. He was already, by far, the easiest killer in the game to loop. His ability to remain undetected was the ONLY thing that gave him an edge.

In my experience, spine chill is a pretty common perk. Also, I would love for somebody to explain how ruin is supposed to be a “crutch” perk when survivors smash through the gens within 5-7 mins if you don’t take it? Especially on low-mid tier killers. I mean, are you supposed to be a bad killer if you can’t snowball and win the match within the first few minutes on any given killer against any given team, or what?? I would love it if the game was in a state that didn’t require killers to choose between taking ruin/corrupt intervention, and getting gen rushed.

I just don’t understand the logic. Ruin/NOED are crutch perks. While Adrenaline, DS, Borrowed time, and Dead hard being the meta is perfectly fine. They are the 4 most commonly run perks IN THE GAME, bar none. Being given chance after chance after chance that you wouldn’t normally have without them, somehow isn’t a crutch? Please.

  • @HatCreature said:

I think this perk just needs a buff to the speed, right now it's at 50% speed and running a toolbox is a lot more reliable and faster than this perk so upping to 75% wouldn't be so bad.

Unless this perk works with toolboxes and gives all Sabo actions with toolboxes the extra sabo time, if that's the case then nevermind.

Yeah, toolboxes are much better. But, if you’re playing with a full sabo team, you can get countered hard with franklin’s if you’re not using the perk. Which is why most sabo builds include both. It’s not optimal, but it’s free and you can use it an unlimited amount of times. It’s the same concept as med-kit / self heal.

  • Sabo is fine. It’s still one of the most frustrating swf builds for killers to go against. If you think it needs a buff, it’s because you’re not using it right. Instead of coming in with a strategy and sabotaging hooks to 99% in an area of the map where you and your teammates can pop them as needed, while the killer is in transport. Lazy, unskilled survivors want to change the perk so that hooks are just flat out broken for 4 or 5 minutes, so they can have the same advantage as a skilled team without any thought process involved. That has to be the dumbest suggestion I ever heard. A change like that would literally break the game. If you ever see hangman’s trick become a mandatory perk, like ruin, I promise you killers won’t be able to delete this game fast enough. There is no reasonable argument that you should get a free escape because you invested 15 seconds into a mindless action 5 minutes ago...

  • You don’t NEED Moris to deal with swf, but sometimes swf just need to be moried. They bully and torment low tier killers all day long, and the moment they’re met with an S tier killer or a mori they wanna go cry to their mommy (the devs).

  • I think they should keep it the way it is now, but add some rank rewards as incentive. I’ve never heard of any other game that had an active ranking system that requires you to grind, resets on a monthly basis, and doesn’t give you some sort of reward. It’s kind of ridiculous. I mean, what’s the point? If you’re a killer, it just makes your life exponentially harder for no reason. You generally get better survivors with better items and perks, gens go faster, you get more swf groups, and it’s miserable using killers or perks outside of the meta. As it now, I could care less about red rank. If I get red rank, cool. If not, then who cares. I’m not gonna go out of my way to grind and populate the server just to make my life harder for no reason.

  • Rage quitting is a symptom of having no associated punishment. It fuels the toxic behavior that plagues this community. It’s amazing to me that they allow people to ruin the gaming experience for others without any sort of draw back. Personally, I think they should bar people who rage quit from joining the que again for a set period of time, maybe the duration of an average match. Because I think there is a mentality among those type of people that if they see something they don’t like they will just leave and find another match, and that’s a problem.

  • @PolarBear said:

Both are a problem yes. One is getting fixed next patch though so hopefully the other one is right after.

I don’t know if I would consider the trade off of insta heals for a base 5 second heal on med kits a “fix”.

  • As if this game doesn’t already favor survivors in every way possible. They have to come in and nerf one of the only killers that hasn’t already been nerfed into the ground. I play on ps4 and the balance is already SO lopsided to the degree that there are so few killers at red rank that killers are being matched up with red rank survivors almost exclusively starting at rank 12. Because there is no one their own rank to matchup with. If their goal is to push people towards quitting and playing another game altogether, I think they’re doing a pretty good job so far.

  • I think that’s a little overkill. But, SWF does provide a huge advantage, and everybody knows it. It can quite literally translate to having the benefit of running numerous perks, without actually running them. It’s not fair to killers, and it’s not fair to survivors who don’t play swf for whatever reason. I would like to see some sort of balancing factor in the future, but I don’t think barring ranked play and bloodpoints is the way to go.

  • I hope you guys are right. Because this has been an ongoing issue for months now. I’m starting to lose patience. It really drives me nuts because I honestly believe that if rank 11 survivors were getting matched into rank 2 killers 80% of the time, it would have already been fixed.

I don't think you understand what "safe pallete" means.

There is like two safe pallets in the map? And they're both in the same room. Once you go through those none of the pallets are safe.

Wow, 2 safe pallets on the entire map. Exaggerate much? I’ve played this map equally as survivor and killer, and I’ve had much more success as survivor. I’ve had some amazing chases, without even using any exhaustion perk. And I’m much better as a killer than I am as a survivor. That’s a statement.

  • @indieeden7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/700562#Comment_700562

So, it's survivor sided because the only way to keep chase is to waste pallets, removing them from the game completely? Okay.

This is a thread about pallets. And yes, you just described the function of a pallet. You use it to extend the chase, and then it’s gone. Or, are you suggesting that survivors should get greedy on an unsafe pallet on a map that has two pallets in nearly every room?

  • @Seltas0208 said:

So I just had a match playing Michael on the coal tower map. And for God knows why I kept slowing down for no reason, no I wasn't stalking I just got slowed down drastically and I have no idea why or how that was happening. It cost me the game because of this

It’s your controller. I had a friend who had the same problem.

  • The pallets are not unsafe if you drop them quickly and keep going, which is exactly what people are doing. There’s enough pallets on the map that survivors can run from pallet to pallet, and take the killer on minutes long chases. And then the killer has to go back and waste another 30 or 40 seconds breaking the pallets. I don’t know why bloodlust is even a talking point here. If relying on bloodlust to get a hit is the standard for this map, you’re gonna lose. Because it eats up far too much time to justify a single hit. You’re basically trading a gen for a hit at that point. That’s not a winning strategy. Just wait until this map has been around for a couple months and people know pallet locations and loops like back of their hand, it gonna be much worse. The only silver lining killers currently have, is that survivors aren’t familiar with the generation spawn locations, so that extends the match a little bit. But, it won’t last.

  • @Steve0333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/609758#Comment_609758

True. Keys are the equivalent of a mori. What's more is that survivors have addons to the keys where they aren't consumed upon use.

Killers typically won't derank with a mori. They will black pip most likely. This is assuming the mori is an ebony and they use it after the first hook on all survivors. If you only mori one survivor with an ivory and sacrifice the rest you'll probably pip up unless you were camping the whole game.

Personally, I think a 4K should be an automatic +1 under any circumstances. Same with escaping for survivor. Since those are your primary objectives. The scoring system is kind of build in a way that can sometimes punish you for having too good of a game, while disregarding the fact that you’ve played so well that there is little or no need to do any secondary objectives.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/609720#Comment_609720

Yeah, it isn't really possible to dodge at red ranks on console. Everyone is SWF

I swear 90% of people at red ranks are playing SWF on console. It gets so old dealing with that crap every single match. Plus, the killer ranking system is so broken that even if I don’t play killer for a week or two after rank reset I’m still getting matched up with three or four times as many red ranks than purple or green ranks even though I’m only rank 9 or 10 because there aren’t enough red rank killers for them to get matched up with. It’s comical listening to survivor mains here on the forums deny it when it was directly addressed in the patch notes on the last update.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

Moris should just be visual effects after the third hook, honestly. I also see no reason why there's a red killer offering and no red survivor offering. Make an offering that spawns the hatch after one gen is complete no matter how many are alive and see how annoyed killers will be.

In fact, I should go suggest that. See how many people get up in arms because survivors would have the opportunity to escape in the same way a killer can get a 4k.

Keys are the survivor equivalent of a Mori. The ability to escape with one or two gens still up is no different than the killer getting a kill after downing you two times instead of three.

If we’re using your logic, perhaps killers should complain that they deserve an opportunity to get a free kill if no one has been sacrificed by the time the exit gates are open. I mean, survivors get a free mercy hatch. So it would only be fair, right?

  • Mori’s are easily countered by the most toxic build in the game, which is the sabo build. There is nothing in this game that is more toxic than a swf group playing sabo at red ranks. Unless they take 4x toolboxes and telegraph what they are doing in the lobby there is literally no counter play. You can’t hook them, you can’t slug them, and if you camp them they gen rush you.

  • Just give killers the ability to close the hatch, and cause it to immediately respawn in another location. I think this would be the most fair solution. Because it would favor whoever finds the hatch first. And, it would be an easy fix in terms of logistics, and actual game implementation.
