Anything to reduce the amount of Ghostface games will make me happy, to be honest.

The game is heavily unbalanced towards the survivor if they can just endlessly loop the map. It's not even remotely fun for newer killers facing this kind of nonsense.
Every time I start a new game, it's not the most fun. You have to learn the maps, strategies, weapons, perks, etc etc. Why should DBD be any different?

You are an idiot. Plain and simple
You lost the extra points and if someone had a bloody party streamers you lost the triple points.
I say this because I played a game as wraith where three survivors dc'd on their first down, making me waste my bloody party streamers and them loose all the bonus points if they would have STAYED AT THE GAME FOR MORE THAN ONE HOOK
And I just had a killer DC with two gens to go and wasted my bloody party streamer. Oh well. People are going to DC. Nothing will change it.

I don't tunnel someone when they DH me but I sure am going to bait it out every time possible from that point forward.
lol yeah, every time DH doesn't work (which is every game, let's be honest) I'm like, at least they don't know yet!
-
Just was double healing a teammate off the hook and of course the killer came right back, I stepped in front so they wouldn't go down and the other person could finish healing, took the hit, got 0 credit for it. What do protection hits even mean in this game? WGLF is broken. I wish survivors had something even close to Barbecue.

What Rank are you?
I started this experiment at 3 and I just hit 9. I've had at three games tonight where I haven't even touched a gen for a second. My scores are just boldness and I think a little altruism for when the killer steps around the teammate who unhooked me and goes for the tunnel and I get a protection hit.

Not trying to justify, but a lot of played DH for distance to drop a pallet and then teabag said pallet, THAT will get tunnels from a lot of killers (not me)
Nah, the only time I occasionally teabag is if there's one person left who has been a good teammate and I want to make the killer angry on purpose to give that person time to escape. If I'm able to drop a pallet, I use that time to get the frickin' frack outta there.
-
I'm a red rank survivor who has been playing for over a year. I am not a clueless noob. Self Care is a huge waste of time and the best gift survivors can give a killer. I cannot tell you how many times I've died because my teammates are all running Self Care and spend 3-5 minutes EACH healing themselves behind a tree, while I'm injured and repairing gens alone. It's not just 32 seconds of healing. It's hiding behind a tree or finding a nice pallet to camp, then healing for twice as long. Bond is BY FAR the better perk. My mind is genuinely blown you think otherwise.

Theres a reason that every other battlepass has it so all the challenges can be completed at the same time without selecting a specific one, there are paths to specific challenges where you have to do one thing before the other but DBD went about it ass backwards tbh, and some of the challenges are really stupid on top of the rift being grindy af. (Still haven't completely dark senses and JUST got to the last page of the tome and i play quite a bit, more than the average player im sure)
I got the Dark Senses challenge done after probably 6 hours total of trying. Not at once. I finally said I'd give it one last try and got it on that very next game. I actually did all five gens that game, no joke. Four I did with the same person and the last one I did solo while he got chased. The two teammates who literally did nothing the entire game got out and the two of us who actually did the objective died. But yeah that challenge just isn't fun. It's pure luck to get the right circumstances to complete it, and it can take way too long for just one challenge.
-
I almost wish there were two separate tomes - one for killers and one for survivors - so that the balance of the game isn't thrown off by people just trying to do challenges. I also wish we could select whatever challenge we want, not have to follow a specified route. And I'd like to not have four or five different versions of the same charm as rewards. Not sure I'm buying the next tome.
-
For what it's worth, I've had plenty of people get me killed by working with the killer. I doubt they all got banned.
-
Is it possible that some people are better at the game than others?
-
I see Self Care in every red rank game too. It drives me crazy. Sometimes I'm the only one not running it. I'm at the point where I just walk up to the Legion so I can die and get out of the game when people are Self Caring against him/her.

Just had 3 games in a row last night where the game became almost unwinnable, the final game being the worst, it was a 4 man swf with a blackwater swamp offering, 3 petrified oaks, 4 alex toolboxs w/ saboing add-ons, almost all with breakout and boil over, they 99'd every hook and made it impossible for me to get even one hook in throughout the game, this is more of a rant then anything but how is this possible, why is this even alowed
Not unplayable, but certainly I can see how it wouldn't be enjoyable. I don't think there's anything the survivors can do to take away the killer's ability to play the game, unlike when a killer chooses to facecamp a survivor who can only struggle to buy time for the others. I'd definitely run Franklin's if I saw four toolboxes. As a survivor, the only time I bring in a toolbox is when I see my teammates are all geared up just to bait out the Franklin's. But more often I slap on Plunderers to see what I can find in that situation.

Its my favorite way of using a mori, lol. Can use it as a deterrent to make survivors think twice about dumb shenanigans, since they dont feel so ballsy when their DS can be bypassed by a mori. I remember queuing up against 4 Claudettes who all decided to try to dress identically. Brought in the mori and had a good game. Didnt actually have to USE it on anybody, which just left them puzzled in the endgame chat. Can also bring in a cypress mori for the same effect.
I would also be confused. Honestly most killers I come across just camp and then tunnel the person off the hook to make good use of that mori. I guess I can't really blame them but I wish they were actually a little more ultra rare. And please, mori all the Claudettes. Do it for all the survivors who aren't afraid to play the game and don't hide the entire time. DO IT.

If you consider using your team mates as "no counter" then I guess you're right. But it's a 4 v 1
so I'm just gonna say you're wrong here. Just picture how imbalanced the game would be if a single survivor could counter any killer tactics (they can already counter the entire chase part of the game if they know how to loop well)
Now apply that to all 4 survivors.
I'm asking what I can do as a solo survivor with teammates who don't realize whats going on. He said the counter is teammates with good game sense. Since I already said that's out of the picture, I am not wrong to reply to his comment that there's no counter.
-
I think it's survivor sided at high ranks, killer sided at lower. Considering how many people play casually, and how many people I know personally who have quit because it's miserable to start as a survivor, it seems that for most people playing the game, it is killer sided. It would be interesting to know the stats on people who play and have played this game. How many survivors quit because it was just too frustrating to stick with it?

I don't see her much on console but I do find some of the hits to be shocking, like the ones that are through a wall.

Bump before the sympathizers get in here and say “Not all Survivors are toxic.” Of course not, but don’t even pretend the Survivors don’t think we’re all toxic.
I legit brought an Ebony Mori, not to kill the Survivors. I do it to mess with their mentality. They think I’ll kill them instantly so they instantly over respect me and drop pallets long before I show up. I sacrifice them all, or as many as possible, and I get told off for “bringing a Mori.”
Survivor effin’ logic my dudes. You don’t have to even be toxic, but because you’re a killer player, you’re automatically toxic.
Bring Iri head on Huntress? Sweaty Huntress.
Bring Tombstone Myers? Worthless Mori abusing bastard.
Coxcombed clapper on Wraith? “Sure, take away our only way of knowing you’re uncloaking!”
Iri King Doctor? “OP Add On, screw you devs! But mostly you for abusing it!”
Black Incense on Plague? “Gotta love that Add On bbq abuse, git gud fuckface” (legit quote direct from a Survivor post match.)
Unlike you Survivors who can bring in a super toolbox and LEAVE the match with it, once we burn the Add On, that’s it! It’s gone! And before anyone says “Use Franklins then scrub” cool, then in response to my NOED, run Small Game and Adrenaline.
But it’s okay, time and time again, BHVR has shown favoritism towards Survivors, and that’ll never change. It’s sad, because I’d love to see Bubba and Amanda take the Spotlight and become Killers who don’t rely on one gimmick build to function, or to have Amanda’s RBTs actually do something! But we’re more likely to get an Adrenaline Buff that changes it to also give Endurance effect, Permanent Aura vision of the Killer, and blocks Exposed till the end of the match, because “Adrenaline is underperforming compared to our Spring data, Amanda is OP.”
I would love to have these Survivors play against the Hunters in Identity V. “I’m sorry, you can’t not look away from me, else I’ll get a free hit from dashing behind you, because I’m Michiko.” Or “You can loop me, but can you loop those 2 as well as me, all at once?”
I've never come across a killer who didn't use their Ebony as soon as they could.

The counter is having teammates with good game sense. But that's often the most exploitable weakness of solo queue squads. They'll often hand you a 3 gen, even at red ranks. Some killers, myself included, are just adapting to objective speed in various ways.
So there's no counter 🤣

From what you're title says, i assume killer is patrolling because people are hiding, with 3gens up i don't see why killer won't chase unless survivors are all hiding and not doing anything
Did you only read the title?
From the start of the game, the killers patrol three gens and won't chase. My teammates are not hiding because they don't even need to be - they're doing the other gens that the killer hasn't even checked once, not realizing what's going on. I try over and over again to get one of the three gens done, only for the killer to smack me, kick the gen, then go check the other two. Rinse and repeat for the entire game.

I have been playing DBD for quite some time now, and I have always loved this game, until now.. I'm a main survivor (solo, red ranks) and I have to say it's a freaking nightmare..
First I have to wait 5-10 minutes to even get into a match, just to be camped, tunneled, slugged and moried, even before I get to earn enough points not to depip.. An average match takes about 3-5 minutes before all survivors are slugged or killed.. It's just not fun anymore. I am sad having to leave the game, because it's always been one of my favorites, but at this point it's just not worth it anymore. I can't see how this game is supposed to be balanced? In every single match, the killer gets 30-40 k points, while my co-players and I have to praise ourselves lucky just to keep our ranks?
I gave up escaping long time ago, usually I am just trying to keep my head above water, and earn the points needed to keep my rank or pip, but could We at least increase blood-points for doing gens, totems, healing ect. to at least make it worthwhile for survivors? Most of the time I find myself thinking "I might as well DC, because I haven't gotten to do anything" when I am getting tunneled, slugged and moried for God knows which time.. I am not a fan of people dcing, but I can't say I don't understand why they do it.
Something needs to be done, we are not all SWF teams and though they might be OP, we struggle on the solo surv side -.-
Also a red rank survivor here, and I definitely see the most ebony moris during the double blood point events, which is either an odd coincidence or just really toxic behavior from a lot of killers. I do have nights though outside the double bp events that there will be 5-6 games in a row with Ebony moris. Honestly, I'm playing less and less. The matchmaking makes it impossible to play with friends unless they're all the same rank, so every person I've tried to introduce to this game has quit. Wait times for games can take up to 20 minutes with all the dodging and random disconnect errors. The rift or tome or archive has made survivor games much worse - they've basically added secondary objectives for survivors and games are just freaking miserable to play. I don't see anything changing so for me, eventually I just won't be playing anymore. It's a shame but it's just not enjoyable anymore.

Use Small Game to get rid of the Ruin early. If you need, try Deja Vu along with a stealthier build so you can knock out one of the 3 closest gens.
You don’t have to be a full-on gen jockey, but if that’s your team’s Achilles heel, then I’d suggest you get it knocked out as soon and efficiently as possible.
I do run Small Game. Ruin is incredibly difficult on console. I'm just going to take all these replies to mean there isn't much I can do if the team isn't aware of what's going on and the killer literally will not chase. It's just so boring because it's happening more and more lately and I'm honestly starting to play this game less and less as a result.

Why bring comms up? I'm a solo que survivor, you have perks and icons status to communicate. What you're implying is hiding and waiting for the killer to be away before jumping on a gen, if you're in a chase, you're contributing to your teammates, it's up to them to be optimal during the chase period like planning out gens/sabo hooks/break totems etc
Not sure what you mean by "What you're implying is hiding and waiting for the killer to be away before jumping on a gen." I have games where the only chase the killer will partake in is to get me off one of the three gens they're patrolling so they can kick it and go check the other two. It's literally been impossible to get gens done when a killer just will not chase at all. I almost never bring in toolboxes so I can't sabotage hooks but I do do totems and run Small Game. Even so, that won't fix that eventually there are going to be four gens done, and the killer has been patrolling the same area the whole game, doing nothing but smacking me once and kicking the same three gens.
-
@DaddyTrappy24 said:
Nope. No counter. You're #########
That has been my experience so far. Insert dramatic sigh here. I had one game where one teammate tried to help me and then got chased off and never came back. Then a second one tried to help me and got chased off and never came back. All the while gens were popping outside the patrol zone and I never saw the third teammate.

@hocrux said:
It's not something that needed counter, it's more to map awareness, a good strat i would say is avoid jumping on a gen with more then 2 players and go to the opposite side of the map
So you're saying there's no counter. If I am aware from the start that the killer is doing this, going to the opposite side of the map and doing gens he's not patrolling doesn't fix the situation at all. I'm always aware that the three gen could happen and actively do my best to avoid it. If a killer chooses to do this from the start and I'm not on comms with teammates, there's nothing I've been able to do.

A hot topic nowadays is the swf nightmare that consoles killers face. If you didn't know, like me,in PlayStation platforms and Xbox killers are faced with swf almost 100% of the time.
The raw ability of communication is powerful. In addition to this, most swf have a red rank survivor that knows how to loop some purple and 20% of the time green. And I'm talking whenever you play in the GREEN ranks as killer.
So what can be done to make the game a bit more balanced, without damaging the random survivor experience? I suggest to either make it so A.the killer gets some kind of rewards (extra pb,protection against loss of add-ons ),make swf to have only 2 players or just delete swf and make it available only in costum games.
What do you guys think. Let me know down below.
Didn't devs release stats that most people on PS4 are solo? I play solo on PS4.
If you delete SWF, you're going to have a lot less people playing, period. It's not about bullying the killer, as you seem to think, it's about playing games with your friends. I've tried to introduce friends to this game and out of six or seven people, literally none have stuck with it. Why? Because the current matchmaking is a nightmare for SWF unless you're all at the same rank. Let's say I'm a 5, and my friends are 16, 16, 17. We get matched with a level 5 killer. We've played FOR HOURS several times and were unable to power the gates even once. They've stopped playing and I've gone back to solo where my teammates escape easily almost every game in red and purple ranks.
And if you feel bullied as the killer, remember you're trying to kill us, and some of us actually like team work and helping each other. It's why I enjoy survivor over killer in the first place.
-
@TheCoolDBDGamer said:
Devs don't care about how frustrating the killer side is, they only care about the survivor mains as they surv mains buy skins, us true killer mains who know killer is the power role should just quit for 30 months. When survs can't get queues they'll make the killer side better.
Killer is supposed to be the power-role.
It already takes me 5-20 minutes to get a game with all the lobby dodges and just general slow times for purple and red rank survivors.
Genuine question - what's a win for a killer? Is anything but a 4k a loss? As a survivor, I'm happy if at least someone gets out, it doesn't have to be me. I feel like killers have a different mentality playing this game.

Totem counter is useful for a killer with noed aswell. He knows exactly if noed will activate or not before the last gen pops. This can make some good play if he needs to decide between an injured survivors at a loop or a healthy survivor with a FL standing outpositioned.
Also, im sick of noed destroying solo survivors while swf have it in their own hands to let noed activate or not. Solo needs equal chances to counter noed without wasting tons of time or an extra perkslot
I am a solo survivor, as I've said. I run small game. It's very useful for things like countering Ruin, NOED, Hag traps, fake pallets, and bear traps, especially with all these Trapper challenges. You make the choice to not run Small Game, you run the risk of being screwed. A counter is not necessary.
-
I traded today with another Nea knowing the killer was going to camp me - he had been camping every single hook the entire game without any shame but there was only one gen left and the other two teammates were fully healed. I felt confident my fellow purple rank teammates would save me. Nope. Let me die on my first hook without even trying. That's what I get for helping teammates, I guess.

No, it wouldn't destroy it. With a totem counter it would be a lot more fair for solo survivors.
Let's say 2 random survivors decided to cleanse all 5 totems in a match. Let's say one of them cleansed 3 totems and the other one cleansed 2. They don't know all 5 totems are cleansed so they both have to waste time, instead of doing gens, searching for already cleansed totems because they have no idea if others cleansed any.
This is the reason most survivors usually don't even attempt to cleanse all 5 totems. It is completely their fault if they are in a swf group though.
I'm a solo survivor who runs Small Game. I know people don't cleanse totems, so I do. I can't tell you how often I find Ruin and do all five totems so there's no NOED. Some games I do only 3-4 totems and know if NOED pops, I'll be able to find it quickly because I know where totems spawn and where I've been. A killer takes the risk with totem perks and if survivors choose not to prioritize it, they get screwed. A counter isn't necessary.
-
Just had a game where the killer was letting people farm so I finished all five gens but I didn't have Dark Sense equipped so that's painful.
Gave it one last try a couple hours later and I literally did all five gens in a game where the killer was actually trying. I did four gens with one person and then we split and both started on the final gen, he got chased, and I finished the fifth. And guess what? The two teammates who didn't do a single gen the entire game got out, and the two of us who literally did every single gen died. Aint that DBD for ya?

Well 80 seconds for a gen if you have no toolboxes or perks.
Even a brown toolbox with a brown add-on and yellow add-on will allow a survivor to reduce the repair time by a whopping 40% (57 seconds to do the gen, without factoring great skill check gains). Engineer's toolbox increases this repair speed by 50% (53 seconds). Perks like Resilience and Spine Chill can make repair speeds even faster.
This is why most killers dodge 3~4 toolboxes. They can substantially speed up the game and survivors may get generators done in under 3 minutes.
Killers dodge Ugly Sweaters.
-
Wouldn't a totem counter essentially destroy NOED? I run small game because 99% of games have Ruin and/or NOED so it makes no difference to me, but I can't imagine killers would be happy with a totem counter. I've had plenty of games where I do all five totems. Doesn't seem necessary to me.
-
I'm not even going to try it because I play solo. Yes it's possible but I just tried two games in a row and had the exact same thing happen and it's just not fun for me. These challenges are ruining the game for me, to be honest. They're basically creating secondary objectives for survivors and making games a nightmare to play. I doubt I'll be buying any more of these battlepasses and since everyone plays differently, I'm not even playing the game half as much as I used to.

I've done a couple challenges and not received credit for them. I did the flashlight save and it didn't count, and several of my safe unhooks didn't count towards that challenge. My buddy was playing survivor and getting credit for killer challenges.

The main reason people DC is because this game has a lot of unfun aspects to it. Unfair maps, killer addons like iri head, etc. How come the devs don't focus on fixing these things first? I understand that maps can take awhile to fix, but iridescent head has still been here for years? Keys and moris too? I think if devs were to focus on making their game more fun then their would be a lot less DC's/killing self on hook. It also doesn't help that you are forced to play ranked mode, and there is no casual mode for players.
I think people DC because they're pissed, plain and simple. Nothing will ever change that. Dying on the first hook so they don't get a DC penalty doesn't help anyone but killers who will get that extra BBQ stack. The few seconds that will take won't help survivors much. It is what it is.

Pretty. Good. Job. So. Far.
Guess I'll just grind through the rest and look up the lore on YouTube like a normal person.
Did they not get the hundred or so memos we left en mass that stated many of those "complete in a single trial" challenges are beyond mental and need heavy reevaluating? Sure, a small handful of folks here appear to like them, but the mass majority here have overwhelmingly given negative feedback regarding them. C'mon, devs. Seriously.
I'm not even going to try for most. Four gens in a single trial I have done a couple times but it was when I was lower ranks and it also just needs to be that special game where the stars align, or a SWF, which I don't play. I should max out the tome but that's just based on grinding, which isn't fun for me. I doubt I'll be buying any more of the Tomes or battle passes or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days.

How often does this happen? Are you guys okay on PC? I'm usually ranks 3-6 on console and hatch escapes are very rare for the last person, much less more than one person getting out with a key. I can understand it's frustrating when it happens but at the same time, there's nothing you can do about it, so why are so many people so triggered by it?
-
These challenges have encouraged a lot of people to play poorly just for the challenges. It can be done at high ranks - I did it. But it's situational so it won't be easy.

How is a LAURIE STRODE using her perk considered abuse? If you want to tunnel, go ahead and tunnel. Survivors are going to do what they can to counter it because it's so common.
