Lobby dodging isn't as serious as DCs because the game hasn't started yet. When you dc from a game, you're directly wasting everyone's time by starting a game you had no intention to complete or even participate in. Lobby dodging is fair because nobody should have to go against 4 man swfs if they don't want to, and finding another match takes little to no time at all not including loading screens. Next time try using more subtle characters and cosmetics. Thiccums McGee, Claudia and David the Hunk are common choices for cringey toxic swfs.
I'd love to find a game as quickly as you claim is possible when a killer dodges my lobby.

whats so fun about hiding and holding m1? do you like the chase? the team work? the stealth?
im genuinely curious as to why so many people love survivor.
also, not saying its a bad thing. without you surv players, us killers would be lonely af. <3
"whats so fun about hiding and holding m1?" is an obnoxious thing to say.

That was more to the reason why I play him. I’m pretty sure he’s been played because how everyone mention above.
The same way the plague could be used a lot once people realize her true potential. Although she could use a slight buff.
And the same way you ask why ghostface is being used a lot is the same way when people start complaining about a killer -> streamers opinion.
It's kinda sad that one streamer can have the trickle down effect of making people actually play the game less.

because he's strong af; high tier, in fact, and fun to play to boot; as well as this, in some cases, if there are issues with latency (it's dedicated servers so almost every game) then there isn't much counterplay to his power either, since survivors can't pull him out of his power the majority of the time. This often gives a free, one hit down.
in red rank PC Oce, he's almost every game. If it's not him, it's spirit or billy normally.
He doesn't seem particularly strong to me. I always thought he was a mid level killer. My issue isn't that he's hard to go against, it's just honestly making me play the game less because so many games are Ghostface.
-
@DelsKibara said:
Personally I don't see him a lot in my region, I've only been seeing a ton of Trappers (literally over half of my games today is Trapper) and not a single Ghostface. But there is a reason he might have a lot of people playing him.
Playing as a killer that can actually jump at you from nowhere is fun, suddenly appearing in their faces without them being aware is something no other killer has been able to replicate (not even Myers with how tall he is)
I think the increase in Trappers lately is because of the challenges.

Happens all the time to us too. PS4. Very frustrating.

Truthfully the reveal mechanic is in the survivor's favor if you're facing a no stalk Ghost Face. When you reveal Ghost Face it triggers killer instinct which shows the location of the survivor that revealed him for a few seconds. For no stalk Ghost Face, being revealed is great.
Yeah most of the time ghostface finds me is because I found him first. It's incredibly annoying. I'm just bored to death. I've never come across a single killer this often playing this game and it's honestly making me play the game less and less.
-
@anarchy753 said:
Probably because he's the only killer with stealth that doesn't slow them down, have a slow channel to disable, or come with major downsides.
Also his reveal mechanic is COMPLETELY bugged at the moment so it's insanely hard to reveal him even when he fills 3/4 of your screen, so that makes him significantly easier.
I figured I was just doing something wrong with him but it's good to know the reveal is bugged. Makes sense people wanna take advantage of that while they can. I'm just so bored.

Im central too. I said this in other discussions, I noticed that the later it gets (evening-night) the longer it takes to find matches.
It seems like 7-9pm would be prime horror video game time, which is when we were unable to play. I've never had such trouble finding a game even at 4am.

Yes I do too at the moment. A couple weeks ago I had to wait at least 10 minutes to get a killer game, but I was talking about survivor games.

I'm on Xbox and I have this same issue. Solo or 4 or 3 or 2 players takes FOREVER to find a match. That's why I'm now playing mostly killer, theres less than a minute queue for that.
Watching my pc friends on stream also tells me the survivor queue is way more than the killer one but not as long as we have it on console.
Today I played with three friend and we got games much faster. This was between 2-5 pm in central timezone. I don't know what's going on with this game.

When you're playing with 2 friends, you're forced to look for that one solo player. I imagine most on PS4 are AT LEAST a 2 player group, making it that much harder.
We've never had issues like this together and even when we all went solo we still struggled to get games.

Survivor queues for me take FOREVER on PS4 after 5:00 pm central time. Killer, on the other hand, is between instant and 30 seconds.
What this tells me is that there are a LOT more people lining up to play survivor, so they hafta essentially wait in line as new killer lobbies open up. Killers, on the other hand, have so many survivors waiting to get in that their lobby has 4 ready to go almost instantly!
(I always think of it like a roller coaster. The killer lobby is the car, and the survivors are the line of riders. Each time a new car is available, it quickly fills with 4 new riders. Meanwhile, most of the riders are waiting in what feels like an endless queue.)
An easy fix would be find some way to make more people want to play killer instead of survivor! Admittedly, these queue times are having exactly that effect on me!
I'm central too and I've never had it be like this before. Usually there are times where it just completely drops off for me and I can't get a game or late at night it takes a while for sure, but I've never seen it take so long and then have absolutely garbage matchmaking.
-
Last week it was taking me at least 10 minutes to get a killer game. Today it was instantly. Survivor usually goes quickly for me but today was a nightmare. I wonder if the challenges are throwing off the balance of the game.

- People are always queuing to go killer so that may have a factor
- It's not level match making it your rank. You may see a level 5 dwight but that's for the character not the player
- the time you play can affect queue times as well so don't even try to play at 4 in the morning]
Hope that helped
Yeah I was talking about player rank - I got matched with players ranked 17-19 while being rank 8. I'm not talking about individual character levels. And it was between 7 and 9 pm so the game shouldn't be deserted.

You actually can just be an ass and run through all the pallets even tho you might be a good looper.
That is why I dont like some of the challenges. It forces you to play bad.
Well you have to be in chase for this particular pallet challenge and yeah, I thought about being a bit wasteful with the pallets but figured others would be doing the same so I tried to just play as I always do. But I 100% agree with you that some of the challenges force you to play poorly. And it caused me physical pain to run Self Care today to get that challenge done. I hate that perk.
-
I've never had so many lobby dodges as I have in the last week or so. It's been incredibly frustrating.
-
Yeah I've seen lots of camping today as well. It's been frustrating.
-
I've been getting less than one thrown pallet per game. It will literally take 25-30 games for me to get that one challenge done at this rate. FUN FUN FUN.
-
I've had almost exclusively 200+ since the Stranger Things update. Tonight has been incredibly frustrating - couldn't even move in two games in a row. I used to see mostly green lobbies and now it's not even 10% of my games. I'm on PS4 too for what it's worth.
-
I've played four games tonight and the lag has been so bad in two games we couldn't even move. The second two games I threw one pallet in a chase per game before I died because again of lag and then teammates leaving my on my first hook. It's going to take 20+ games at this rate to get this single challenge done. FUN.

Not Ebony, no. Not with the amount of BP that killers are able to earn with BBQ and how not even close to being ultra rare they actually are.

@SaintDenisSlasher said:
Honestly in situations like that there's nothing you can do. I wouldn't have camped but i also wouldn't have walked across the map knowing they'd be close by
Im a killer main and no its no fun to gen rush but if a gen is in my face im gonna do it feel me? Honestly though the hatch is just a bad system all together because at BEST its a free win for survivor after a killer plays well. At worse you're laying on the ground slugged waiting to bleed out while your teammate and the killer look for it
Honestly, do you know how rare it is for me to get a hatch escape? I'm rank 5, I've been playing this game a while. I almost never get the hatch, with or without the key. Often my other surviving teammate is camping the hatch while I try to get the last gen done by myself. The killer finds that person and instantly closes the hatch. I literally do not even try to find hatch, I just hope I have enough time to get a gate open once the killer closes it. It's very rare that I get out that way, but I escape more like that than I do via the hatch. And getting out with a key? I understand it has to be frustrating for a killer to watch survivors yeet on outta there, but that happens even less for me than a normal hatch escape when all my teammates are dead. I avoid keys in the bloodweb, and rarely search chests during the game, much less find a purple or pink key. The chances of me finding a key, being alive when the hatch spawns, and finding hatch? Pfft. I wish. It just wastes my time trying to find it when I could be doing gens. My favorite P3 survivor with every perk unlocked and by far the recipient of most bloodpoints I earn? Seven keys total. The only time I bring a key into a game is when I forget to leave a green one from the previous game and I bring it back in on accident.

Help me out, Killer. What am I supposed to do to stop you disconnecting?
The game just started, I spawned in next to a gen, a teammate, and a Hex Totem. She cleanses the totem and helps me finish up the gen. Bubba shows up, we both run and I find another Hex totem purely by luck, and cleanse it while she gets chased. Bubba comes to me, I run a loop one time around a tree without dropping the pallet, look behind me, the game pauses as Bubba stares at me and disconnects. This happened to me an hour ago.
What do I have to do to get you to play the damn game you queued up for?
Killers disconnecting if we get a lucky early Ruin cleanse or as soon as the gates are powered happens all the time.
It's not just survivors. People will always disconnect on both sides no matter how many times you complain about it here.

What gets me is the need, almost like a compulsion of survivors to wait at the exit gate and t-bag and flashlight click no matter how the game as gone, it's the same as those who will wait until you spot them at the hatch before jumping in, I'll never understand the need to waste your own time like that.
I've taken to standing near the exit gate and going "afk" the number of survivors who come back out to run around you is insane and every so often one of them ######### up and i get an extra kill.
also nothing better than having that survivor vault and start t-bagging forgetting your a huntress :D
Sometimes I wait at the gate because I don't know if everyone is out, and I'm trying to buy them time if the killer is with me or go make the save if they need it. I am the kind of person who plays a multiplayer game and cares about my teammates. Sometimes I wait to check for NOED, again to help my teammates. And sometimes, shockingly, I wait to let a killer who has played well hit me out to give them even more points. Not everyone is toxic, even if you're interpreting it that way.

It's not really a complaint. It's an argument I'm using to prove that survivors who want to do gens as fast they can to end the game as fast as possible don't care about bp as much as they care about getting out of there or "stomping the killer".
Edit: And why do you call me a killer anyway? I'm not a killer main. I play both sides and I have more hours as survivor.
The killers certainly aren't kind to me, why shouldn't I do gens as fast as I can when they camp, tunnel, slug at five gens, and bring in ebony moris with ultra rare add ons into every other game? I personally am not afraid to play this game injured, as opposed to Blendetting my way through 87 self-cares a game.

Judging by how fast survivors try to make gens (some of them don't even bother healing) I don't think they care about bp as much as they care about "stomping the killer" or simply getting out of there as fast as possible.
I don't think it's the same thing at all because of what I just said and because that punishment would be a post game punishment that doesn't affect the outcome of what you are trying to achieve; get out as fast as you can.
Imagine a killer complaining that survivors don't heal.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
This isn't needed in my opinion.
I don't think moris are a big enough problem to warrant changing them in such a manner.
I didn't think insta heals were a big enough problem to warrant nerfing them but here we are.
I've never seen so many ebony moris as I have the past week or so. Multiple games where one survivor is dead in less than a minute. Three games where all four survivors are mori'd. One game where a toxic Spirit brought three of us to the hatch to mori (4th got out for a change). There's nothing ultra-rare about every other game going against a killer with an ebony mori AND an iridescent head or judith's tombstone or even the freakin' redhead's pinky finger (I don't know why but Ive had three games in two days with Clowns running that). Maybe just change the name because they aren't "ultra-rare." Not with BBQ giving killers perma double bp events.
-
Like killers don't facecamp and repeatedly smack the person on the hook?
Why let it bother you so much? If it upsets you so much to be teabagged, did you consider chasing another survivor who might not? Sounds to me like you gave that survivor exactly what she wanted.
I also think people "teabag" because there's no other way to emote in this game apart from pointing. I guarantee some people are triggered by that too.
She teabagged, you punished her for her "unacceptable" behavior, so what's the problem? Why did you feel the need to make a post about this? Brag that you got the 4K? Or are you still upset because you think she was making fun of you by teabagging?

Honestly this should make it easier for you to do the killer challenges because you'll be in a lower rank, vsing potato survivors.
I get matched against purple ranks sometimes as a level 18 killer. Not the most fun, especially with no BP in my killers.
-
I've wondered how these challenges are going to throw off the balance of the game. I'm a survivor main, my dailies are 99% killer, and I almost never do them because of it. I might play five killer games a month. With the challenges being 50-50, won't that throw the balance off? And being a survivor main, they'll be even harder for me to do, and vice versa. So are killer queues going to be out of control at all ranks now? Survivor mains trying to do really hard killer challenges sounds like a nightmare to me. I almost wish there were two rifts you could purchase - one for killer or one for survivor based on which you played more.
I was afraid a battle pass would make this game be a lot less fun and you could already see both survivors and killers playing differently on day one.
-
Can't stand Ghostface. I break him out when I don't even realize he's there, when I see him before he sees me, I'm exposed. So many camp, and there's no killer that dc's as soon as the exit gates are powered as often as Ghostface does.
-
You have to stop looking at it like other survivors are your teammates, because they're not. I too like teamwork and actually helping people, but it's rare in this game. I still do everything I can to be a good teammate, but I know that others just see me as a distraction and tool they can use to escape. I cannot tell you how many games I've run the killer for 4-5 gens, only for me teammates who haven't been hit even once the whole game leave me to die without trying. I've had many games where I do literally all five gens and am left to die on my first hook without trying. There are people who purposely try to get you killed just for fun. People will farm you for their dailies. Etc etc.
There are perks that can help you be less team dependent, like Unbreakable or Deliverance (especially with Decisive Strike). I started using Adrenaline because of the heal bug and don't know if I'll ever go back. Play more selfishly the later the game gets. Your teammates are much more likely to rescue you if you get hooked early, so know that if you put yourself at risk to help someone late game, you're probably not going to get saved. Cleanse totems so there's no NOED to keep them from yeeting immediately. Or just try to make a couple other friends so you can have actual reliable teammates for a change.
-
What you're describing doesn't sound like a SWF to me. I run solo 99.9% of the time and I use Bond and always try to work on gens with another teammate so if a killer chases either of us off, someone can finish it. You don't need to be talking to friends to know if the killer is chasing someone, the others should go back and finish a gen. There are survivors who run and hide the second they hear a heartbeat, and survivors who gleefully repair a gen while a teammate is being chased right next to them.
Also, if I'm on a gen with a teammate and someone is hooked, we don't both leave the gen to make the save. Sometimes one teammate just leaves first, or someone points to the hook and goes back to the gen. This happens all the time when I play solo.
Have you tried Surveillance and Brutal Strength if you want to kick gens? Surge could help too and maybe Bitter Murmur?
-
Small Game is my emotional support perk. I love playing as Trapper, but hate playing against him. Also, it's incredibly satisfying to get all five totems myself and then see the killer was running NOED, or for someone to get nailed with NOED and find that totem immediately.
-
@Khroalthemadbomber said:
No it is not unfair. Think about it like an investment.
Survivors CAN choose to enter a match with items, add-ons, and offerings, but often choose not to. Thus anything they do in a match is pure profit.
Now killers. Yeah that killer brought an Iri and Purple add-on, but that's 13k bloodpoints spent to do that. Tack on an Ebony mori for 1-hook mori plays and that's 20k bloodpoints spent with almost nothing gained from the investment. If a killer is LUCKY and 1-hook moris EVERYONE in the match, they'll be lucky to break 25k gross, 5k net profit. Most likely they won't even BREAK 20k and most likely will have lost bloodpoints on the match.
Are you saying a killer using add-ons and offerings isn't a choice, but it is when survivors do?

We all heard that after dedicated servers implementation, you would have had a tighter management of people who disconnect.
Now, I keep playing and I see the usual amount of DCs so clearly the countermeasures you are applying (if any) are highly uneffective. Brothers fog dwellers, what is your opinion and experience?
I understand that you do not want to reduce your player base, but I think this behavior must be stopped. Everybody in a match suffers from a disconnect: a single person disconnecting throws the match away - and the bonus points does not patch this.
Especially since survivors don't get bonus points when killers DC, do they? (That's not passive aggressive, honest question). I've lost thousands of BP when the gate is open and the killer DCs because he doesn't have any kills yet.

I completely agree.
Killers get a perk that is majorly useful in game and gives them double bp for basic gameplay.
Survivors get a perk that they have to go out of their way to earn stacks on and the stacks can be denied by both the killer & teammates. PLUS, it has zero in game use.
Not to mention even if you earn the stacks, WGLF is heckin' buggy (at least it is on PS4) and you don't actually get the stacks.
