Honestly my red and purple teammates are the worst I ever have.

Nope, I haven't had this problem yet but it's something to look forward to

I got downed five times and hooked three the other day in one game. Can I say I was tunneled? He literally only hit one other person the entire game. Not downed one other person. Only HIT one other person.

I'm reasonably new to the game compared to most here and I overall enjoy the game. I can happily play survivor for hours regardless of whether the games are unbalanced in terms of MM, whether people are camped or tunneled etc.
However whenever I switch to killer I really feel put off playing by the attitude and actions of survivors. Whether it turns out they are solo or swf. The lack of general respect is gross. Teabagging, waiting at door to taunt etc.
Now I know this is, sadly, to be expected in the game but when you see so many people complain about queue times for playing survivor... I now think... Well this why is... No one wants to deal with this.
The way you feel about all of those things is entirely up to you. Survivors teabag for a reason, and if it keeps tilting killers, they're going to keep doing it. And I'm not afraid to play this game. I like being chased. If a killer wants me to "respect" them, they better give me a reason to.

Small Game, especially since Ruin is stronger now as a solo survivor. And Trapper gives me a heart attack. Not to mention fake pallet Fredwards.

What perks can I use to help me?
I've been getting tunneled a lot more than usual lately. Not so much camping. I think people might be upset about the mori change? I dunno. That was my only guess. I had a game the other day where I was downed five times and he only touched one other person once. The other two weren't touched at all, and no one else was hooked.
-
No Mither would never work for me. No matter what I do, killers leave chases with injured people and slugs to come after me and instahook me every time. I don't know what i"m doing to piss them off. I guessI should act terrified and be unwilling to play the game like most others? I dunno.
I do enjoy Quick and Quiet, Head On, The Fish, and The Pebble for maximum WTFery. Sometimes I'll swap out The Fish for Deception now. It's kinda hard though to enjoy myself with how painful solo queueing has been lately.

I posted this a few days ago but nobody responded, so I’ll paste it here because it is entirely relevant to this discussion:
Match starts and within a few seconds I notice Myers in the distance so I hide until he passes. Not too far away I notice he slows so obviously he begins stalking somebody else. I take the opportunity to make some distance between us, but NO! The person that is getting stalked sees that she is being stalked and sees me running off in the distance so what does she do? She follows me! So now Myers notices me, too. I run around a building but Myers is coming around the other side so I turn around and try to go through a window but I wind up getting sandbagged by the person initially stalked just as Myers reaches Tier 3. I go down. But instead of running further away the other person remains inside the building and attempts to heal (close enough that Myers can hear). She goes down, too. I go up on the hook. While I’m on the hook a third person runs up and tries to heal the initial stalkee. Myers is still in tier 3 and HE goes down, too! In the meantime, the fourth person finishes a gen so what does he do? Rushes right over! Tier 3 finally elapses but it’s too late. 2 on hooks, one on the ground and the fourth is being tunneled. Game over in less than 4 minutes. The kicker? Everybody was in red ranks.
LOL
This sounds right though. I had something similar happen with a Miguel the other day. I got slugged and I was at a pallet and instead of throwing it and touching me to get me up, two teammates got slugged right along with me. I don't even care about losing, it was just so painful to watch. I honestly do not know how so many people are so absolutely clueless as to how to play this game.

Sadly, I expect it.
I am more shocked when I get quality teammates, and so appreciative.
Thanks to all of those of you putting in quality survivor gameplay during my solo games!
I had a good Claudette teammate the other day and I was shocked. I even sent her a message telling her she was like a unicorn.
I always expect teammates to be bad but sometimes individual things are just so bad I am still able to be shocked.

As a survivor main, I've recently come to notice not matter what I do, about 90% of the time I am the first down and first hooked. I'll sneak, I'll hide, I'll stick with others and run away when the killer comes but none of it matters in the end because I'm always the killers first target. I should put it out there I'm hearing impaired and have trouble hearing the audio cues like everyone else so I play more cautiously but damn, I sometimes feel like the game hates me to the point I spawn 10 feet from the killer. I would chalk it up to my disability and bad luck but it's so constant to the point it's gotten annoying. Is there any thing I can do to prevent being the first down? Any advice you guys can give me? yes, I turn up the volume. Yes, I can hear the music getting more intense when the killer is close. No, I don't immediately run like an idiot and leave scratch marks. I try to hide and get found anyways. Just... getting flustered that's all. Doesn't help when I get tunneled to death even after using DS. Killers can be relentlessly annoying.
I have days like this too and I did a lot when I first started playing. It doesn't bother me now because most survivors are bad at the game, so I know I will actually be able to keep the killer busy if I'm found. I had a game today where three of us were on a gen and one person was AFK and I was still the one he chased. I'm almost always chased when I'm with another person. Killers constantly leave chase with an injured person to chase me when I'm fully healed. I have a lot of killers leave my teammates slugged just to chase me and immediately hook me. You're not alone. There are definitely times when no matter what you do, it's always you.
When you first spawn in, maybe actively stay away from gens? Try to figure out who the killer is first, and where you're going to go if and when you get chased. Plan at least two moves ahead of time. I always like to do a totem before I touch a gen just because I hate NOED. I do get found a lot when I'm cleansing dull totems though.

I’ve stopped playing survivor for the night, the queues are long so it’s throwing me in with actual yellow ranks. And when I do get a red rank teammate they go down to a Pig in 10 seconds and then rage quit, or struggle til the very last second of their hook state so I can’t get the hatch while the killer chases me.
Killers have been better teammates to me than other survivors today.
Oh yeah. No one does more damage than your teammates, that's for sure. Just had yet another game with three people alive and one gen to go and the other two fully healed just stopped playing while I tried to finish the last gen injured. I deranked because I had three Ghostface games in a row, and two were on the new garbage Autohaven so I just killed myself on first hook in all three games. Glad the DC penalty is a thing though.

I'm in North America, Central time zone. I can't get survivor games after 8 PM without waiting at least 15 minutes. I've been playing killer to try to work on some challenges. It's sad because I want to play the game more but I spend more time sitting in the lobby.

This goes at least back to the Billy rework in my opinion. They made Billy a higher skill ceiling with his overheat mechanic and add on changes. Next they plan to give Freddy more of a skill ceiling. Not to mention the mori nerf that gave bad killers a chance to at least do decent. Its getting harder and harder now for new killers to play and excel.
I ain't referring to veteran killers by the way. You all got ruin undying which is overpowered if you know how to play the game. However if you are a new killer I feel this game is becoming more and more unwelcoming. Or maybe its just me, what you all think?
Edit: I forgot the matchmaking issues. Yeah that definitely takes the cake for the new players biggest struggle.
The game is so much easier for new killers than new survivors, and it's not even close.

I'm sorry for the rant, but this is starting to get really ridiculous. Please fix the matchmaking system. It's beyond me how these survivors are at red ranks.
Are you on PS4 by any chance? I feel like those of us solo survivors are losing it lately and we need to team up. I ran a killer for 1:40 yesterday and only one gen got done. I guess I should be happy with that compared to your games ;)

You teabag to say hi? Do... do you know what Teabagging even is?
Yes I do. This kinda proves my point that killers' interpretation of "teabagging" is just absolutely insane. Killers are so freaking tilted by it and it's kind of hilarious. There are so few options for communication in this game. I spawn in to a game and see teammates and will teabag to say hi. Maybe they're horribly offended, I don't know? 99% of the time they do it right back to me. When they do it to me first, it makes me laugh and I do it back. I know that person isn't a total bot and is going to be a fun teammate.
If killers are going to keep being enraged by this, survivors are going to keep doing it.

One survivor dead. All gens done and just hooked a Meg for 2nd time. BBQ lets me see where the other two are, near the exit. Bill is heading back towards Meg. Laurie is at the gate and I assume starts to open it. I intercept Bill and injure him. I get to the hook as he unhooks Meg and I hit again... hitting and downing Bill. I chase the Meg and down her close to the exit. Her friend flashlight blinds me as I am picking her up. They both run to the exit and I chase knowing I won't catch them. Of course Meg teabags me as she is leaving. I hook Bill, he dies, end of game.
Two people had to save Meg and it was the Meg who teabagged me?!?!? If anyone was to teabag it would be Bill or Laurie. Not the Meg.
Survivor behavior bewilders me sometimes. So confused.
I think killer interpretation of teabagging is the most bewildering. I teabag to say thanks. I teabag to say hi. I teabag to say you stupid camping tunneling ghostface betch, that's what you get, the list goes on and on. A lot of survivors teabag because they know it bothers killers and that's the whole point, so stop letting it bother you.

That's about right. Making your way through enough bloodwebs to rank up 3 new perks per chapter costs roughly 300k BP per character.
Getting a character from 1-40 costs 1.1 million BP.
Getting a character from 40-50 costs roughly another 500k BP.
If you already have all survivor perks unlocked, and you are leveling a new survivor to 50 (without prestiging) and building a full perk inventory from scratch on that one character, you will have to go through approximately 110 bloodwebs once they are level 40. It will cost you a grand total, from beginning to end, of about 7.2 million BP (and this assumes you do it as efficiently as possible -- ignoring high-priced items, prioritizing perks above everything, and letting the Entity swallow large chunks of the web where possible). That's for one survivor. This total will only grow as new chapters and perks are released.
Oh my god. That's so painful.

Is it against terms of service or just bad sportsmanship / poor etiquette?
When my friends tried to play, it was me at red purple and them all 17-18 vs a red/purple killer. All seven of my friends who tried this game quit. Killers never talk about match making like that that makes it ridiculously easy for them but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm level 50 on my main survivor I use (Adam). I had previously unlocked Balanced Landing, and just bought Built to Last from the Shrine. I decided to get both of these perks to Tier 3, and I went from 300k BP (from the apology gift) down to 100k BP.
And you're giving us 10k BP a day as a special event? Incentive to log in? Seriously?
I've been playing a long time and I'm nowhere near unlocking every perk for every killer, and YEARS from unlocking everything on survivor. Survivors are not "just skins" as you like to say, you pick one and you main it, because putting points into every single survivor to get them all "maxed" is what, a billion BP? It's just ridiculous, it's time to remove tiers from the game or something.
No I did not prestige anyone. Yes I run BBQ/WGLF 100% of the time. Yes I'm tired of having only 3 perk slots because of that. No I don't play for the grind, I want to play for fun. Most of the killers I love have the perks I want, so all the BP system is preventing me from doing is playing niche/bad builds, killers I don't enjoy as much, and changing my survivor.
Yeah I just unlocked Elodie and getting her perks on all my characters that are already prestiged has been very painful. I think it's been like 300k per survivor to get her three perks on them.

The issue with bad players is that they don't realise they're bad players :/ they don't see an issue with wasting time, camping pallets and wasting pallets. When survivors waste pallets they actually hold up long chases so they don't see an issue. Of course players like myself that actually loop properly rather than throw down all the pallets, can't loop the killer because every pallet is gone, but the player that wasted the pallets probably assumes they're god tier because they held up a long chase.
Yeah I had friends like this before they all quit because of match making. We'd go into a KYF and one of them would just throw every single pallet and I was like, wait do yo really play like this? The stun the killer four times challenge for me will only get done if a killer is farming. I don't stun the killer four times in 40 games.

Please, for the love of god, look up a f-ing tutorial on what you should be doing as survivor.
I get it. It's a complicated game. It's got more depth than the f-ing Pacific Ocean.
But HOLY ######### my mind is actually fracturing from the behaviour displayed by survivors in my games.
If you aren't being chased, DO A F-ING GENERATOR. I can't tell you how many times I've seen my teammate with Empathy or while I'm on the floor sitting in a corner doing absolutely nothing.
If someone is about to go into the next stage of sacrifice, DO NOT, AND I MEAN DO NOT, WALK YOUR SLOW ASS FROM HALFWAY ACROSS THE MAP. You are actively killing your team by doing this.
If you just got hit by the Killer, DO NOT THROW A PALLET. You move at 150% move speed for 2 seconds after being hit. Do not waste a pallet that another teammate or yourself could use later.
If you hear the Terror Radius, don't hide in a corner or a locker. Identify the area with the most safety in your immediate area, then determine where the Killer is most likely coming from. This will save your life, your teammate's lives, and it's overall more efficient.
If you are on a generator and you miss a skill check, DON'T WALK AWAY. Commit to the generator until you are in danger. Also, don't go for great skill checks when you're new. Go for good skill checks. 10x easier, and greats aren't that great on gens anyway.
Just the little things. I swear your gaming experience and your teammates' gaming experience will be made a million times better if followed even one of these 5 guidelines.
Thank you for coming to my tedtalk
I stopped running Bond and Empathy because I was losing my mind with how many teammates will not play the game. If they're injured, they just stand someplace they feel is safe and hope someone comes across them and heals them, I guess? Or all three teammates run Self Care and fully heal against Legions? Literally NO ONE will play injured except me. It ranking system is a joke. My worst teammates by far are red and purple ranks.

b) Just doing things to grab some points and if I have a chance to kill myself on the hook I'll take this glory chance of escape. Kinda ironic. In this case, death is an escape, from those l..guys.
c) switching to killer. I enjoy Legion and Clown very much. Survivors became as bad as Killer were in 2016 so even with Legion it's goddamn easy to make one 4k by another. And those two are pretty fun to play as (im scared for the clown rework, like him how he is now)
d) Watching other streamers getting tilted.
I have been having more fun playing killer lately. I just don't get why people play the game and yet refuse to play the game after a certain point. I used to think, "One gen left, four of us alive, we're cruising, baby!" But every game is just a slow, miserable experience now once four gens are done.

i dunno why people feel the need to escape over anything else. all that time they spent hiding in a corner they could have got themselvs a pip by acually doing actions. Console players are the worst for this
I agree. I'm on console and it's infuriating. I don't play crossplay because I have no desire to go against someone who has an advantage with hardware but I am losing my mind.
It's at the point now where when we get to four gens, I know the game is over. I just had a game where AGAINST A WRAITH my teammates let the first person hooked go into struggle while I was being chased, and with one gen to go, when I went down because I was working on gens injured, my two fully healed teammates WERE ALREADY IN LOCKERS
I am not joking that almost all of my games are like this. The game ends with four people alive and one gen to go because everyone except me stops doing gens.

Ok, this is getting ridiculous.
10 minute lobbies as survivor during the evening (18:00 - 2:00) vs 3 second Killer lobbies.
The issue is reversed during the morning and early afternoon. Killer takes 4-5 minutes to find a match.
Why aren't there bonuses for playing underplayed roles?
All normal games have this system in place so the game doesn't die. In MOBA games you get an exp boost at least. This is common sense, people. Just do it.
The game is in a horrible state because of this.
I don't know why devs are so detached from reality to seemingly not notice.
The issue isn't even reversed if it takes twice as long to find survivor games. I wanted to play more last night but I was like, no I actually want to play and not sit in a lobby for 20 minutes. Killers already get insane BP compared to survivors with BBQ, and 99% of my daily challenges are for killer.

I love playing steathy and being sneaky so the killer won't find me. Its intense to know that you could be found at anytime. But lately I feel the game is not allowing for more stealth opportunities. I don't wanna run the killer for 5 gens, others might find that really enjoyable but not me. There a multiple killer perks, addons and abilities that can easily locate survivors trying to hide taking away all stealth and basically destroying a certain playstyle. Survivors do have stealth perks but some are not too good or they only handle one aspect of detection. The cherries on top of all of this is that the community greatly hates people who do play stealthy, survivors hate their stealthy teammates and killers hate stealthy survivors. With all of these factors, stealthing doesn't seem to exist anymore.
90% of my random teammates do stealth because most people are dogshit at the game. So yeah, you definitely can. But it incredibly boring and mostly hurts your teammates.

It isn't. You can escape the match without touching a single gen. And there are builds and playstyles specialized towards doing that if you feel like playing like a prick.
Also if you're getting caught first in most of your games that may also mean the rest of the team is playing safe at the start of the game as well. You do gens, you are the one who gets found 90% of the time if the rest are hiding. This is highly unusual and highly unlikely, though. I mean I've had it happen maybe once every twenty games at best but if it's constantly happening to you something else is up. Either you live in a country where everyone is a rat bastard or you've got the worst luck don't ever play at the casino.
I've learned that most people are genuinely so bad at this game it's not even funny, and they have to rely entirely on stealth to have any chance at escaping. I am pretty good at being chased so when the game loads in, I start running. I try to cleanse a totem before I touch a gen because I hate NOED and most of the time people don't cleanse. I honestly prefer being chased first because I know I can keep the killer busy for a while, and chances are my teammates won't be able to. The stealth play style bores me to death.
I don't mind getting caught first. I don't mind dying. What's happening in most of my games is that all the teammates just stop. Sometimes they stop working on gens with three to go. I do mind that.
When I did what they did to see what would happen, it took 10 minutes for the killer to find and kill all of us. Dear god, why would anyone want to play like that? I'm not going to go to a haunted house and then sit in the parking lot because I'm too scared to go in. I'm not going to not play DBD because it's scary - that's the point. I guess there's no good solution because the best I can find is to kill myself on purpose to get out of these games that are a total waste of time.

Hey dude, Im playing survivor 90% solo and only 10% with my best friend in duo SWF. Ive got 2k hours in playing survivor and the same time for killer. That means I feel u and know these problems about bad random mates :3 Ive a survival rate of maybe 50% average, but I dont care about it tbh. I try always to have a good game and I always get to rank 1 every season. Most of my matches I do 2-3 gens, cuz I cant rely on my random mates. I really dont wanna complain, but the quality of random mates has decreased since u got resetted to rank 5 and not 10 and since survivors has to do rift quests like "do 100 totems and 50 safe unhooks in a trial etc." ^^
First of all I would suggest to use kindred since it has become an absolutely must have perk for solo survivor. It´s like BBQ&Chili and increases the chance to get rescued by your teammates. And it decreases the chance that 0 people or 3 people are coming to u on the same time, while insidious bubba is waiting for them XD
If the survivors are walking around like a decapitated chicken or just doing nothing useful, there's not much you can do about it. Try always to give ur best. Do gens or try to get better at wasting the killer's time.
So your advice for when all three teammates stop playing and wait for someone else to finish the gen is to do gens or be chased? That's exactly what happens and I die. Then if I take to the time to spectate, the killer gets a very slow and boring 4k because no one is playing anymore. But yeah I agree Kindred is a good perk for solo survivors. Doesn't help my main problem though and that's that most of my teammates in most of my games will not play after a certain point.

I will have to admit that I don't mind playing friendly matches either to get more bloodpoints or just to be nice. Usually I'll be friendly if someone DC'd.
I don't mind a friendly killer due to how toxic most people can be, such as camping Buba, teabagging Ghostface, etc.
But what do you guys think about Friendly killers?
Edit/Note: I am currently stuck in rank 16 due to only getting matched up against ranks 9-1. I'm not even kidding about that. Thus why I have resorted to being less aggressive in most matches.(I will however, target anyone who taunts me to chase them)
It's nice sometimes, especially when two teammates DC right off the bat. Happened once tonight and I pointed at the hook so I would die even though the Killer was going to let me go. Not the Killer's fault my random teammates were jerks, and why shouldn't they get some good BP too if they're being nice like that?

Interesting though that totems have received a little buff. They're much harder to see now than they were before. Even with Small Game I miss them and spend way more time looking for them.

The best thing to do as a solo is gen jockey because there's no guarantee your group is going to be doing them. It can mean the difference between an escape and a depip. So if I'm on gens and my team just derped out I still have Objective points. I'll go run in and unhook as many as I can for Altruism points, which usually gets me into a chase so I last as long as I can for chaser points.
An easier way to say all that is...when all is lost, do things that getcha points.
I'm usually being chased and I'm pretty good at it, that's how I know all my teammates are doing nothing. Not only do I know I've bought them enough time, but when I'm finally downed, all three are just standing still doing nada. You're definitely right though - most of the time your groups is NOT doing gens. I just get found first a lot so I'd have to completely change how I play this game. I think my best option is to just die and get out. In these situations if I don't finish the gen, no one does. Most of the time I can't because I'm already injured and my teammates are doing nothing.

Just to let you know the new ones suck for killer too. They're way too dark. I literally just got a 0k on blood lodge then my next match 4k on rancid abattoir. I'm on console so my brightness settings are limited to my tv lol
Yeah I've played on that map as killer and hated it equally, don't you worry.

I'll try what you suggested, focus on self preservation for a while before I branch out to other perks and playstyles. Thinking about it, I guess practising looping and escaping could be helping the team in an indirect way since I'll be distracting the killer the whole time.
The whole game is a give and take. If the killer is busy with you, your teammates can peacefully do gens. It definitely does help them if you can keep them busy with chase. Most survivors are garbage at being chased and are all too happy to sit on a gen the entire game.

Not much you can do other than hide too. Everyone is just aiming for hatch at that point.
Yeah I tried it. It made the game last 10 minutes longer and we all died. Shocking that when survivors stop playing, the killer wins. I'm just going to kill myself immediately as I have been doing. It's a waste of my time when no one else plays.

I've just been having trouble improving as survivor. I'm terrible at looping, terrible at escaping the killer, I'm having trouble memorizing maps and possible pallet locations and things.
I usually main Cheryl, simply because I'm a SH fan, but I've been doing the rounds collecting teachable perks lately. Most of the time my builds consist of perks that let me rescue and heal the rest of the survivors, improve healing speed, alert me when the killer's near, but I feel like what's letting me down is my lack of ability to survive any encounter with the killer once they find me.
I just want to know how to improve since it feels like I'm stagnating.
Being good at DBD is being good at being chased, so if you want to improve it's going to suck for a while. I'd drop all the perks that help other survivors for now. It's admirable you want to be a good teammate (I wish there were more people like you) but if you want to get better at being chased, you have to play for you for a while. Kate has a good perk - Windows of Opportunity - that will help you learn layouts and loops. I used that perk when I first started playing and I still use it when a new map is introduced. Try to always be planning where you're going to go, especially at the start of the game before you know who the killer is. I try to have a couple moves planned ahead of time, whether it's an LT wall or just a safer pallet to loop.
DS is also must for me. So many teammates will farm you off hooks and killers are happy to tunnel someone out of the game. Dead Hard fails often but it can make chases last longer.
You could also try watching some survivor streams or Youtube videos. I learned a lot from watching survivors and killers when I first started playing.

They didn't stop playing, they just stopped doing gens, which isn't quite the same.
If you're finding that that's how people play in your neck of the woods, "Do as the Romans do" as they say. When there's only 2 gens to go start playing it safe and wait for someone to get chased before working on a gen.
What these survivors are doing is exactly the same: they are waiting for someone to get caught before taking teh risk, because in this game chances are the survivor being chased when there's only 1-2 gens left is the survivor who dies, or at least the one who is on the hook when the gates light up. And as you know when the gates light up the killer's best strategy is to camp.
If it really bothers you play with a selfish build. Take Left Behind, Plunderer and Appraisal and wait it out. If your team dies no biggie you can find the hatch after they all die.
So I tried it. One gen to go, three fully healed teammates, I'm the only one injured and doing gens, as always. It's been eight minutes. One person has died. One is slugged, the other just got hooked. He immediately closed hatch because of course one of my teammates I'm sure was camping it.
I could be 8 minutes into waiting for my next game by now.
I just do not see how refusing to work on gens isn't playing the game.

Desolation - Whenever you hook a survivor they are completely blind - no aura readings, and cannot see anything other than their player model.
Solo survivors that got hooked won't mind too much, all they can do is wiggle if the killer is near. SWF can't communicate where the killer is or where he's going.
This would hurt the solo survivor though. When I'm on the hook, I'm taking note of what my teammates are doing. If they're on a gen when I'm on the hook and it hasn't popped when I'm free, I go finish it. I know most survivors don't have the whole two braincells required to do this, but some of us do.

I don't usually play killer but I decided I would give it another try. I am rank 20 I was matched against rank 12 survivors. That made it not even fun to play so I guess my question is #########
That's not as bad as my games. I get my rank 17-18 killer against red and purple swfs regularly. I played 3-4 killer games today and had purple ranks in every game. It's too bad because I had 7 friends who tried this game and they all quit because we'd get a red/purple killer to match my rank and then it was them at like 17-18. We couldn't even get two gens done most games.
