Am I the only one who finds more humor in the fact he is mad that BVHR is selling $99 worth of cells than his entire hook rant? He is angry over the ability to buy a bulk load of cells (which is optional) that are used to buy cosmetics (which are optional). Ok, back to enjoying the train wreck.

I try to use a 4 gen method with Legion. I am willing to let 3 gens pop as long as I can keep 4 gens near each other untouched and force survivors into a smaller area of the map that I can control.
-
Odd, I am not noticing any issue with the blood web on PS4.

If you're not frustrated by the fact that you don't really get anywhere as Killer, then the Legion is worth buying. On the other hand, if you want a Killer who can actually, well, kill, the Legion is not worth buying.huh, thats odd cause I get kills every match
Teach me, master. No, seriously, tell me how you play. My headset's busted so I haven't been able to play DbD since the Legion was released.
okay, legion is a killer that is strong against big groups of survivors, ruin is a powerful perk on legion so that will help, when you land a hit with legion and no other survivor is nearby, try to hit them again or go in front of them to block off there path to take them down, with legions ability to vault pallets you can apply great pressure inside of the chase, blood hound is another powerful perk with legion with the inability to see scratch marks when inside off feral frenzy, allowing you to track survivors inside of the feral frenzy easily, STBFL is amazing on them due to multi hit capability, 4 perk can be anything but bbq due to poor movement speed
That is close to what I run Legion. I run Blood Hound, STBFL, Blood Warden, and Deer Stalker(I know I am one of the few but I love that perk).
-
Personal opinion Legion is slightly above Freddy once you get their frenzy timing down. I am still figuring out the kinks of Legion so I get on average 1k a match but I usually hook all survivors at least once. I enjoy running Legion but I can see how they can frustrate a player.

Before I offer opinions to your suggestions, I would like to inquiry about what rank you have progressed to playing killer. The reason I ask is playing killer at the lower ranks is much different than games against more experienced killers. The same I would like to ask of what rank you have made it to as survivor.Good point. I've run killer and survivor both at primarily rank 10-11.
EDIT: No sorry, forgot not shared ranks. Survivor 10-11 / Killer 13-14.
Camping lessens (though does not go away) as a survivor when you get in higher ranks. Survivors are more knowledgeable of the game mechanics and will punish a camper quickly. In the span of a first hook camp, survivors can finish 2-3 gens with ease.
On the killer side, the ranks you play at, Killer appears to be extremely easy. This is great part due to the lack of experience of the survivors. While Killer for the most part is more straight forward than survivor, I would dare to say it is in fact easier or simpler. Playing Killer at ranks 10-1 involve more strategy, skill and in depth knowledge of the killer. Survivor in those ranks, you pick up more skill and knowledge of the maps and how to use them to your advantage.
I appreciate the thought you put into the recommendations you presented. First off, there is no point deduction for camping. There is no penalty in place for it. You just end up with less points overall because camping as an overall strategy just does not work that well.
Camping is best used as a situational device, as is looping. Both suck for the opposing sides, but they are in fact fine strategies when used properly and well timed.
The best way to deal with camping and looping is honestly, avoid it. As a survivor, you see a camp, punish him. Gen rush him to death. He will get 1K and crap points. As for the wonderful looper, you see you are about to get sucked into a loop, break chase. Find another target. If all of them are loopers, well, that just gonna be a bad match. I think using game mechanics to punish what can be legit strategies is a bad idea. The reason these strategies work are because players allow them to work.
I know many will not agree with my views, and that is fine. We are all entitled to our own points of view. I do appreciate the respectful and thoughtful manner you presented your views Redplanet. I apologize I am not as well written as you but I hope my thoughts came across clearly.
- Agreed, I figure camping lessens as you move in ranks. I just want to note that, I'm not trying to remove camping, and it has already lessened some, I'm just say discourage it. I don't want to nerf killers I just don't want them getting so many points and BP for it.
- I saw once while killer at %5 reduction in points for what seemed like camping. I can't recall the exact wording or I'd mention it. If I see again I'll note it.
- Avoid camping and looping depending on role: Again I agree and appreciate the input, I try to actually apply new things people mention. The primary thing here is to reduce the likelihood of either boring strategy being used and rewarded too much so it remains an active fun match for both.
- I know many don't like my views either
, but not about agreeing, it's about discussing. Thanks for the thoughts I try to keep everyones comments in mind if I ever repost or update a post because I learned something new and meaningful.
1) If you put a penalty on a killer in the "camping zone", that is a nerf. It also will not discourage camping. Survivors reward camping by action, and Survivors punish camping by action.
2) If you see it again, please do screenshot and share. I am interested in seeing.
3) This is a PvP 4v1 game. Neither side is responsible for the entertainment of the other. If I play killer, my goal is to kill you the most efficent way I can. If I play survivor, my goal is to get gens going and escape, however I can within the rules. If I need to camp, tunnel, DS, flashlight, loop, body block at the hook, I will do so.

No idea, but I would suggest not getting a glass of water from them

Keys can be found in chests and the hatch only stays up for a very short time if the key is used on it. Basically the other survivor left you to die.
-
Its bad when I may just skip the double BP due to the insanity they bring out. I think just gonna play the event until double BP, enjoy the more light hearted gameplay and take a break before it gets too chaotic.

I honestly think the problem is you. I suggest some moments of introspective thought, Perhaps meditate. Do some soul searching. Oh yes, call your ISP and have them look at your service. It sucks.
-
There are added winter event exclusive items added to the blood web, and a double blood point week later in the event. Beyond that, nothing major. The studio closes during the holidays so this event is more about fun and pretty much ran auto pilot. It is still a fun event, and honestly much less toxic than the rest of the events during the year.
-
Honestly, just much of the same. There is no side objectives for this event so it should be rather simple.
-
I typically do not run BBQ so in all honesty, my camping has relatively stayed the same, all situational.

The killer got lost trying to run to the other side of the map and hide in a corner like a good killer should. He took a left instead of a right and ended up back at the hook. Its not camping, its bad navigation skills.
-
Personally I am having fun playing Legion. I find the style entertaining and I can annoy survivors. I am cool with that.
That said, he is still by far the weakest killer. I do not play him with any intentions of getting more than 2K. I play them to just have some fun. They need some buffs to make the killer viable at higher ranks.
-
Fix the rankings instead of doing reset twice a month. Rankings is about how much you play the game, not how good you are at playing it. My wife is horrible at Killer, but can pip nearly match. I completely suck at survivor, but still pip every match.

I am on the PS4 and I never have a wait time longer than 4 minutes. Usual wait time as a killer is maybe 2 minutes, if not a little less. Maybe the issue is with the entitled PC players, but I seen no issue as a lowly PS4 player.I was mainly talking about PC, as Ochidos moving to console itself shows, killers are way worse on console just cuz the controls r clunky, the divide is still pretty good
Ochido moving to console had nothing to with consoles, it was about him being banned to death on PC (deservedly so).
Honestly, there appears to be a pretty health balance of killer vs survivor, at least on PS4. Yes the controls are a bit clunky for killer, but it does not seem to hurt the population.

I feel the basement should be one of personal torment. Once hooked in the basement, all you can hear is Nickelback. Cannot think of anything more hellish.

Sadly, that is why I turned of messages on the PS4. I just do not bother any more with it.

My philosophy on unwritten rules for both sides:
I as a killer am not responsible for the fun of survivors.
I as a survivor am not responsible for the fun of the killer.
This is a 4v1 PVP game. My goal is to win (whether that be to hook or survive) and I will do so however I can within the confines of the rules of the game. If I must camp, tunnel, DS, flashlight, loop, or taunt, I will do so.

Posts like this make me miss the LOL option.
I'd love to meet the player daft enough to deliberately leave their console or PC running while they go off to Portugal.
When the hell did they get rid of the LOL button and why?

I'm not a survivor.
I. Am. Not. A. Survivor.
I'm a killer, I'm a casual survivor.I'm a Killer main.
Then you have been letting the opinions of others sway the way you play your game. I still have not heard a constructive rebuttal to my OP.
No one influences how I play, I'm a hunter not a camper.
I do not need to explain why camping is pathetic. You're waiting, for someone to walk by, to get a free grab, or a free kill.
Might as well play Call of Duty, or why not bring a tent for that camping.O.o camping didn’t start in cod it started in final fantasy 11. were u kill normal monsters from 2- 18 hours after death for a chance at a respawn as only 1 spawns people would camp for it as only 1 has a chance at a drop.
That started well before FF11. I remember camping back in EQ.

This is a 4v1 asymmetrical PVP game.
As a killer, I am not responsible for the fun and enjoyment of survivors. They are targets to kill however I can within the rules of the game.

You do realize this is a horror game. It is meant to be brutal and gory. Its rate M or 18 (depending on country standards). Honestly, I thought the mori was rather tame.
-
Rank has little to do with skill, it has to do with time played. So it is not much of a surprise that some times a mid rank player is much better than a rank 1.
-
Yes, SWF can sometimes be frustrating, but far from the point where I would quit. They are no where near as bad as they were a few months back. While the game still needs a lot of balance issues fixed, it is in its best place in a long time. I personally do not mind going against SWF. Majority of the team, they are not this super skilled coordinated attack force. They are usually a bunch of friends screaming at each other to stop missing skill checks.

@SadonicShadow is not hard to play as killer. if you have the worst killer, like the wrait, and you put 2 add-ons he becomes op. rank is useless. it say nothing of your skillsOk, I thought you were just an experienced survivor first time playing killer and seeing a culture shock at low rank. Now I see you are a survivor main pretending to be play killer for first time, just to create a stupid thread bashing killers. Got it.
-
@Devil_Patres said:
@lasombra1979 yeah, i know how to play killer, but like 10 hrs player.. so, now all can kill / win as killer, survivors is costantly getting nerf and that gameplay is so frustating after 1500 hrs (sry for my english)Not sure your meaning honestly. Survivors have gotten very mild nerfs, killers got very minor buffs. At low ranks honestly, the game is very heavy tilted towards killer.Once you hit about rank 13 and up, the game gets a bit more balanced, though it is certainly more survivor leaning.
-
Meaning at rank 20, most survivors are utterly clueless. Getting a 4k is not hard at all. Also, you have experience as a survivor so you have a good working idea of how to play killer.
-
Personally, I feel the hatch should open after the number of gens equal to the number of survivors in the trial have been completed. Basicly, 4 survivors in a trial means 4 gens are need to open the hatch, 3 survivors equal 3 gens. The scaling number helps solo players who may have someone drop in the offering phase. Now if a survivor DCs mid game, you are just screwed.
-
@Orange_Lady If I may ask, what do you define as tunneling? I ask because of all the "evil" tactics in DBD, this is the one that seems to have the least concrete definition. Before I truly respond, I want to know which version of tunneling I am responding about.

There are two that I have this weird obsession with. The first is Laurie. I am a Halloween fan, trying to kill Laurie just makes sense. The second is David. I have such a loathing for all Davids. The smug looks on their faces, makes me want to......ok, must calm down.
-
I actually loved the changes made to the Wraith. I could see how some idiots would use him as a camper, but to me, his changes, makes him almost as good of a stalker as Myers Tier1.
Of course though, I want him buffed more. I am a Killer main. I want all killers to be able to get 4K in 37 seconds.

I have to say that for killer to win Everyone must die. That's how I see it. It's a killer v survivor game. 1 survivor escapes the killer has lost.
Maybe I'm just setting the bar high.
Isn't it how it's supposed to be. Should be only 1 winner.
I guess it's the games balance coming into question again. This is the exact problem with the people that play this game.
Killers think they NEED to kill to win. Survivors think they NEED to escape to win. No a pip is a win in this game. You can die and still pip as survivor just like you can not kill anyone and still pip as killer.
Players need to accept that some survivors die, some survivors escape.
Very simple. You have no right or business to tell anyone what they need to accept and what they should consider a win. The arrogance that you have been demonstrating is flat out said. There is no specific win criteria in this game, and it is up to each individual player to determine if they win or not. I am so sick of self important asses telling people who they should play or what they should do or accept. Get over yourself.

No perks, no add on, no items, no auras, no terror radius, no pallets. Only items that can be used can be found in game. To me, that would be a fun hardcore.

No it wouldn't. There are many completely against the idea.
