  • What's the difference between being at rank 15 and being at rank 1? I don't even pay attention to rank TBH. Unless there's a better incentive for being at rank 1 than <rank 1, I will continue to ignore the ranking system. As of now and even after the changes, all rank stands for is the amount of time you put into the rank reset period.

I kind of feel like a lot of killers feel this way too. If I were a camper/tunneler, this wouldn't hinder me at all from camping/tunneling. I don't know how DS is going to affect tunnelers, but I imagine unless it becomes meta, you will continue to see tunnelers.

  • If they are getting completed that fast, you aren't pressuring the survivors enough. Doing gens is literally their only objective, what are you doing to stop it? Are you wandering around because you can't find them? Are they looping you the entire match?

Being good at any killer takes a lot of time to do. You have to get use to the maps, the loops, know how survivors think. This is why so many people choose to run Billy or Nurse at high ranks, because they have the greatest mobility hence the greatest pressure.

  • Yea I'm sure it is but I'm not worried about it. Think about how many times could have been pallet stunned and how many times the killer is actually pallet stunned. It almost never happens unless you are playing a half decent SWF.

Now take that, add on a perk and the stun has to happen in a specific spot. You can't even be sure the killer will bring the survivor to the basement. Would be a god-tier play by a survivor if they did this.

  • Gonna have to wait until people figure her out. Right now, she just seems like a scuffed LF/huntress. My opinion of her right now is I think she'll place somewhere around with the Pig.

  • This question should be directed at killer mains because survivors think anything a killer does is toxic. IMO, anything a killer does that is intentionally trying to make the survivor mad:

    Mori spam

spam hitting someone on a hook

intentionally throwing a game to literally facecamp a survivor

  • Zubatlel is the best Billy I've seen so far. He's probably the best killer in general TBH. I don't know anyone that's better than him.

  • @PigNRun

Pretty much nailed it. Only time I DC is if it's a garbage map I keep getting stuck on like Haddonfield or the school. Also if it's a three survivor game, it's just not fun to slaughter them and I have no desire to farm. So.. DC.

  • I knew a survivor that was trying to troll me one game. Used DS, no mither, boil over and tenacity. He'd sabo the hooks and run to the corner of the map when he was about to go down. I thought that was pretty funny.

  • Without Meg, I would never get my trapper dailies done.

  • @Poweas said:

I meet them all the time. If there's someone who's obviously toxic in your lobby, run Billy and face camp them with the saw if they be toxic. Beautiful solution.

Even better, play Billy, run Ebony mori with sweet home alabama in the background.

  • This is a PvP game and salt is just the irrational behavior displayed because a player lost. The toxic behavior will never be resolved because of the nature of this game.

It's really something you have to learn to ignore. Play how you want. Camp, tunnel, play fair, play by survivor rules, use DS, flash spam, teabag everyone; it doesn't matter what you do because you'll always be blamed for something.

  • Honestly, I would love to see a totem rework. There's some totem perks I would love to use but they just aren't worth it because of how fast they go. I think if there was a totem design rework, it would be much more fun for everyone.

Really though, I'd love to see a new meta generator perk. Something passive but not as effective as Ruin. Ruin is just so boring. Pop Goes the Weasel is a great example of a potentially great perk. What makes this perk garbage is the fact it's on a very quick timer instead of a token system.

  • The problem you are trying to address has nothing to do with NOED. The only thing rank determines is how long you've been playing this season. Rank has to do with the amount of time played in a season, not skill, say like the arena ranking system in WoW.

Depipping is not an effective tool to keep lower skilled players at low ranks. Anytime you play DBD consistent, you will have a positive net gain in pips. It's just the way the system is designed.

Since I'm busy IRL, I have more time during certain rank reset periods than others. It's just so inconsistent. The same goes for survivors. I've played some of the best survivors I've played against at rank 8-15. I've played some terrible survivors at rank 2. That's why people say rank doesn't matter. It's so inconsistent.

  • Ofc it will be fine. The people are salty about it are the people that relied on it for so long.

  • @Arsoul said:

    Anything else?

    You got DS nerfed

    You go self care nerfed

Do you want there to be any survivors to played against? As your constant killer buff for 4K is going to kill the game

    Nerfing infinites would be great.

  • @MhhBurgers said:

Can we stop making fixes through either ridiculously powerful perks or addons and just make the base-killer strong with addons being a change to his gameplay instead of being needed to make him viable? Thank you.

Right? Killers need reworks, not add-ons. Add-ons should be used to adjust your play style with the exception of ultra rares. Having to rely on one or two add ons to make the killer even viable is just crazy.

  • @Peasant said:

Just smack whoever got saved and then pursue the other guy. The other guy doesn't get his full reward and gets an emblem punishment and the unhook victim still buys you time while a buddy runs over to heal.

But logically speaking, why should a killer do this? Why does the killer owe anyone this? Why would your teammate put you in the situation in the first place and why is up to the killer to make up for a bad teammate's mistake?

My point is, it's not the killer's responsibility to make up for survivors' mistakes so why isn't the blame being directed towards the survivor who did it? Instead we say, "gg killer, thanks for tunneling" instead of, "gg, btw thanks for forcing a tunnel Meg".

  • @Russ76 said:

My view is if someone on my "team" rushes to get me off the hook then it really isn't my fault, so I hate when the killer tunnels me just because my team mate decided to farm me for points. I know some survivors have asked for a way to "kick" other survivors away if they are about to get tunneled.

When I play killer I hunt whoever I run across, but if I see someone get pulled off the hook I am at least nice enough to go after the savior and not the victim in that case.

If I am seen via Bitter Murmer, BBQ, etc then I am fair game.

Perfect example. It's not your fault at all, it's the knucklehead that pulled you off. So my question is, why is the killer blamed? Why isn't the survivor blamed for unhooking without borrowed time?

  • @Eveline said:

If players are polite I don't tunnel, camp etc. Even if they all could escape.

If they are toxic everything goes.

As a survivor, If killer tunnels me for no reason after unhooks, I'm going to use every dirty trick possible to make him miserable.

But what is tunneling? Because I feel like there's a huge misconception in the community on what tunneling is.

  • Ever since the teaser came out with the picture, I had assumed it was gonna be a religious/cult creature of a sort. For some reason, I keep thinking of Deacons of the Deep from Dark Souls.

  • NOED and DS have something in common. They both aren't fun to play against and it feels incredibly bad to lose against either of these perks, especially if you played well in that trial.

As a killer main, my belief lies that DS was incredibly irritating to play against and should have been addressed a long time ago. I also believe that NOED has realistic counters to it, so they can't be compared in the same light. However, I can understand how survivors feel to play against an irritating perk. I empathize with this feeling as should every other killer main. No one wants to play against a perk like that. We didn't when we played against DS.

So, survivors are looking at it like that. If they fixed "the irritating perk" for killers, why didn't they fix "the irritating perk" for survivors? The argument of killer's is, "just cleanse dull totems" (which I am in this boat) but the survivors' argument is, "it's not that easy when there's no coordination". To be perfectly honest with you, I agree they should at a minimum add a default UI display that shows totems left for both survivor's and killer's screens. There would be no reason a solo survivor should be able to complain about NOED again if this was implemented.

Survivors don't have to worry about NOED.

Killers that don't use NOED can feel a little relief of pressure on gens with the cleansing of totems.

Killers that use NOED can continue to punish survivors that don't cleanse dull totems.

    Everyone wins.

  • "with his good addons". I mean, you can say that about any killer. What about the other 95% of the trash killers' addons?

  • Adrenaline and hope. As a killer that doesn't ever use NOED, this end-game survivor build is the bane of my existence. Really underrated and I'm surprised more survivors don't try to run it especially with all the complaints of NOED recently.

  • You just have to practice man. I'd recommend a tracking perk. Whispers is extremely good but Spies From the Shadow is a lot more noob friendly but not nearly as effective as Whispers. You could also play Freddy for a bit until you get use to survivor loops.

Other than that, you might want to go play survivor for a bit or go watch survivor streamers until you get use to their play style and can think like a survivor.

  • It's fine at 100%. 500 hours in of perpetual BP grinding w/ BBQ and I still haven't dented my perk unlocks.

  • Legion, because easy DC's.

    Jokes.

MM is extremely fun to play. MM is very strong and seem to be a well liked killer by survivors, so everyone has a good match. Not to mention, jump scare myers never gets old.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:
They need to make it so DS instantly disconnects the killer from the match. They could rename it to Disconnecting Strike

Right. Then when killers complain about, survivors can back it up by saying, "it's counterable. Just connect to another game or lag switch"

  • Good on you for adapting to changes so quick. At least I get my BBQ stacks.

  • Step one, choose another killer.

  • Problem with dead hard is a good killer can figure out you usually have dead hard by easy process of elimination. That makes it a very high skill perk imo because the timing is key. The average or even good survivor are just so predictable when they use dead hard.

Even as a killer, it's satisfying to see a survivor get a high skill dead hard over on me. You don't see it very often though.

  • Be my guest. With the amount of time saved from one shotting you every hit, DS won't even matter. That's a very high skill, low reward build. Better have some looping skills.

  • Depends on their playstyle, if they are BMing and the convenience of letting them go. If I am at a 3K and the hatch is close to me, I'll let them go. But, if they are running DS or I am playing a garbage tier killer, they are getting the hook.

  • Personally, I think there needs to be a massive perk overhaul. While I agree NOED is 100% able to be countered, sometimes you have to consider the survivors perspective. It's just not a fun perk to play against and even less fun when you lose against it. This is the same logic I hope a survivor uses when they try and defend DS. If you don't have to play against it (not with it), then you should really consider the other team's perspective. Is it fun? No. Rework.

I do not use NOED. I feel by putting NOED on I am planning for failure. I just don't like that mindset. I'd rather benefit from a perk all game, like Enduring, than to have a perk for 5 seconds. It's just not a fun perk for me to use. Same with Ruin. It's complete garbage perk but almost necessary to use. It's not fun in the slightest to use. Same with DS, same with many other perks. That's why I believe a lot of these perks need a complete overhaul and rework.

  • Rework soon, as in the same with Freddy and DS getting a rework soon? If that's the case, we'll be waiting a couple years I guess. I just bought this killer and he's complete garbage. He's even worse than Freddy. It's almost better to just run around the map and not even use his power. Hope this gets fixed soon.

  • There's a huge skill gap between a bad nurse, a decent nurse and a good nurse. Survivors can run a bad nurse around all day. It's all about the accuracy of your blinks. Go watch Zubat play nurse on Twitch and tell me if you think Nurse is still bad.

  • As a killer with many hours in this game, my suggestion to you is to just buy LF and level up for his BBQ. It's not even about the perk's actual power, it's about the huge BP bonus you get. For a new player, this game is a perpetual BP grind, you can not regret not earning extra BPs.

  • I bet the killer had a lot of fun that match.

Any killer main who has played for some time will tell you this isn't very common. As a matter of fact, the chances of running into a SWF that is highly coordinated is just unlikely. This just isn't that type of game. If I have friends and I am trying to competitively play this game, it dang sure isn't gonna be this joke of a game. Rather arena in WoW or something.

  • Survivors that claim DS isn't BS only play survivor. Fact.

  • He's a survivor main and it's evident from this video he doesn't have a lot of killer experience. Not to say he's wrong, but he is only addressing survivor problems.

What's kind of annoying about DBD atm is the amount of content being pushed out and the older content not getting fixed. This just creates more problems that need to be addressed, so now you have a giant pile of issues that aren't being fixed. Fix your base game first, then push out content.

Another thing that is irritating is these events that come out every month. It's not fun. A.) it jacks up the ques and B.) people want to just farm instead of playing the game.

Burn-out is real. Something noob3 didnt even touch on was bloodpoints because he has 5k hours. I've got something like 400 hours and I don't think I'm even 1/3 of the way through unlocking all my killer's perks.

Then you have the entire list of killers' gripes that weren't even addressed in the video. Where's the Freddy/LF fix? Where's the DS fix? Why are 90% of the perks still garbage? I'm not even gonna touch on these are consistently posted on the forums, but you get the point.

A lot of these issues just make the game not fun.

  • DS is the reason I don't play this game anymore. It's absolutely burned me out as killer. It's just not a fun perk to play against. The perk itself isn't OP, but how it changes the dynamic of the game. You can either eat the DS and if the survivor is good this will initiate an entire new chase (all while other survivors continue to hold M1 down). You can slug them have them healed back up in 30 seconds, or you can juggle them for 2 minutes to a hook. Pick your poison. Trials are simply too quick for any of these to be a good option. That's why DS needs to be fixed.

It's a garbage perk that needs to be addressed and I refuse to play this game again until they do.

  • No mither meta? Does he even play this game?

  • I actually tend to agree. If a killer ends the game with 3 generators left, he annihilated the survivors, let's be real. I don't think a hatch is deserved at that point.

That being said, I usually give them the hatch because I want to avoid double pips and I couldn't care less if I get a 4K, but in principle I believe it's a garbage mechanic. I mean what if the killer was guaranteed a kill every trial? People would flip right?

  • If we are talking just an ordinary build with the purpose of grinding BPs, you need BBQ. To slow the games down a bit, you would also want Ruin or at the very least Sloppy Butcher.

For this reason, in this perpertual BP grind, I always have:
    1. BBQ
    2. Ruin

Then fill the other two in depending on the killer or what you want. Until you get more, you'd probably be better off with NOED and M&A for now. Once you get more, you could get Make Your Choice, Haunted Grounds, Sloppy Butcher or really whatever other two you wanted.

  • My favorite is Claudette wearing her bright, pink jacket walking in the distance w/ no Sprint Burst.

Why would a solo survivor want to use borrowed time? Who cares about saving random people you que with right?

    I do.
    All the time.

    That was sarcasm man.

  • Depends on the map. Jump Scare Myers is definitely one of my favorite builds to play though.

Look man, I see what you are getting at. You're calling yourself a "solo survivor" as if it completely handicaps you. This isn't true, you underestimate how much trouble a single survivor can give a killer. Calling yourself a "solo survivor" is just your excuse for being bad. Sorry, someone has to say it. I've played a lot as killer and I've seen some damn good solo survivors out there that have carried their team.

My advice to you is to concentrate on getting better, not your team. Just slightly improve your looping skills. You'd be surprised how much time a bad looper can waste just by throwing pallets down over and over on a killer's face.

Even go play as killer for a little bit so you can see both sides and learn how a killer thinks.

harsh, but ok. But I can't imagine I destroyed the entire rest of the team as well, every single match. By your own words, a good solo can carry their team, so by that same rationale, wouldnt a single player not spell doom for the team too?

To be a competent survivor, you either need to hide well or run well. If you can't do either one of them, then you're gonna be the first one found by the killer and the first one dead. That's just the way DBD goes.

And, to answer your question. Not necessarily. A killer still has to hook each survivor three times. I kind of speculate what happens in your games is one person gets hooked, then everyone drops what they are doing to swarm for the unhook. Then your killer snowballs everyone from there.

If you are playing games and generators aren't being completed, either the survivors are just bad or you're playing a Billy/Nurse every round. Which is it?
