I haven't kept track how often the bug happens but I'll edit post later. I'll keep a log for the rest of today.
Edit: almost forgot this. I had 2 games out of 20 where sound bug occured. Both times were 1 survivor not making any sound in dying state.

I must just be a bad killer because I mostly feel bad for being ruthless lol.
Nah. I started playing normally after 2 days of letting survivors escape and still got bs in the chat.

That was my 'pg' version, what I actually think of bullies isn't allowed to be said on these forums 😀. Not sure why you think what I said may be directed at you but ok?
You said killers who won't let shiny survivors escape are crummy and have neurological issues. I play normally and don't let anyone escape if I can do it. So by your logic I must be a dick and enjoy bullying.
-
I don't care if it is original or licensed as long it is fun to play.

You can always let go of the gen when you see/hear killer coming closer.

Every time I've played Killer this event I've let all non premium survivors go as I know how frustrating it can be to earn those crowns on Survivor.
And I usually let premium Survivors go as well just in the spirit of the 4th year anniversary good will gesture.
Killers who kill their Survivors even though it's blatantly obvious that they are trying to escape to get their crowns are just crummy people. Don't blame them it's not their fault, some people are just neurologically unhinged bullys who get off on the misery of others. Quite sad really.
Good thing to know I'm crummy and I might have neurological issues. Thanks for letting me know!

Yes. Every other game has a way to ban camping. With the recquired proof. And yes, everything that ruins the game should be a bannable offense. It's about being a healthier game.
I can recall devs saying infinites recquired to be good for the game and had to stay. That was hurting the game, a lot. Right?
Camping is easy to prove with a video proof.
Umm, what games bans for camping?

Pop I understand fully. Calm spirit is an interesting choice. I for one never worry about crows, unless I realize in hindsight the killer has spies. I also feel it has limited use. However, the strong counter to doc is an advantage that can’t be ignored. This perk also counters clown to some extent. Him being one of my mains, there’s been countless times I’ve wasted bottles because I thought I didn’t hit the jake
Oh I don't worry about killer having spies or spotting me because crows took off, I just don't like the sound they make. Yeah it also counters clown to some extent but I very very rarely am against clown. Doc and various killers using infectious is pretty common. And I'm not confident or good enough to face those, I use calm spirit.
-
Killer: Pop helps me pressure gens. Other one I really like is Haunted Ground. Survivors know they made an oopsie and I'm hungry for blood.
Survivor: Calm spirit. It counters Doc and Infectious. Also crows not making noise is nice.

But we all should agree that it would be fair to complain about killers and survivors equally :)
The killer tunnels/camps/slugs
The survivors gen rush and play in SWF
Both complains have the same answer: so?
Both sides doing the objective.
Survivors gen rush:
Thats what they have to do? sure they can get saves and heal, but the goal for survivors is to escape.
The killer tunnels/camps/slugs:
so... he kills? what is he supposed to do?
I know whats the problem here:
If one side plays "fair" and the other side doesnt the side who plays fair loses.
We have killers without noed, mori, strong add ons get gen rushed by SWF teams with 4 DS BT adrenaline etc
These killers will lose this round if the survivors dont make huge mistakes.
We have also Survivors that play waker perks for diversity who get tunneled off hook to be moried and if they finish the gens get hit by noed.
But you know what? Its on you to use strong weapons.
if you wanna be weak dont complain about the other side using strong weapons.
you know whats a fair game?
An Iri head huntress with noed and Mori vs 4 SWF players who know the game as well as the killer and have meta perks.
This is fair guys, because both sides have OP stuff.
So maybe, just maybe its not the killers fault using noed and its not the survivors fault using all the crutches they have.
Maybe its the games fault Over powered Items add ons and perks exist.
Maybe its not "the killers" and "the survivors"
dont play fair at red ranks. the other side wont play fair either.
Two times unfair equals fair ;)
You reap what you sow.

That's fair enough, I wasn't referring directly to you btw because I know you didn't say every survivor in fairness but seeing it was what reminded me to add it along with the killer bit because I have seen some people complain about survivors like that. I absolutely wouldn't judge or trash talk a killer who doesn't let a survivor trying to get a crown survive the match if they were being toxic and bming, I know how immensely frustrating that is.
Even saying that, I don't think killers have any obligation to let survivors go in a match anyway if theyre trying to get the crown, there's plenty of time to collect them, but i do think it's scummy for killers to play in a poor sport way by bleeding out, camping etc solely to prevent someone from escaping with a crown.
I agree that it is scummy thing to do.

@Danu said:
I mean, I've been letting people who are trying to get crownd go the whole event, even if it means missing out on my 3k or 4k and I've only ever gotten respect and gratitide messages for it, and this is on ps4 where we don't have egc do you have to directly message the person.
Definitely isn't all of the killers like you're crying it is and definitely isn't that survivors are always toxic when you let them go like other people cry they are.
If you are referring to me, I'm not claiming all survivors are toxic. But I put up with toxic survivors every day and if they can't show appreciation during event and getting crown, I see no need to let them escape anymore.
-
@Tjiani said:
So... now that the killes have proven they are NOT going to play fair during this event, I Think We should agree That during the next event there is no reason to make things easy on the killers. I swear to God this is the worst event ever. Killers bringing in Their worst builds, Moris, tunneling and camping. You do realise They made it easy for you to get the crown so there was a chance you would play fair?
i Think during next event you should make it so all 4 survivors need to be hooked for the killer to get the event-item. i really Think it’s a ######### behavior and it kind of shows who the real toxic people here are.. Think about that next time you sit and whine about how toxic survivors are.
I play normally and sometimes that means I will get a 4k. First 2 days I let people go and got trashtalked so if you can't get out with crown, tough luck.

Let's be honest that going against 4-man SWF is not fun experience. It doesn't take long to check if they are SWF or not. Just check their profile friends ctrl+f and see if they are friends together. If most profiles are private then it's ez dodge. At evening i get instant killer lobbies so it doesn't matter
It depends. I roughly put most SWFs in to 3 categories. There are swat teams, meme teams and rainbows. Swat teams end up in quick loss for me, memers make the match fun by goofing around and rainbows are easy matches and bring most joy when you see that salt in endgame chat. And the salt usually comes from either the red rank or the brown rank.

I never said they did. What I did say is that you cant pre-determine in a lobby how a killer is going to play.
Camping and Tunneling can be done with any killer with some becoming boderline abusive. I am not saying it happens all the time. I am saying if people start to experience it over and over, it gets old quick and people start to realize that meta perks are meta because of this playstyle that they can't predict until they are inside the match.
SWF swat teams are also borderline abusive but that still is part of the game. Is it fun? No. Is getting camped fun? No.
I believe with better matchmaking we wouldn't have so much campers. Of course there will always be those that actually get enjoyment off staring someone dead in the face. Having easier matches (playing against similar skill levels) gives more room for mistakes and when gens don't pop in 5 mins, they aren't pressured to camp that 1k. At least this is how I see it.

Sounds nice and all but it doesnt do ######### for us survivors who constanly loses a pip because a killer has a hard on for one person and you say that but is it true? People exploit the ######### outta this games mechanics they not just gonna decide to be fair lbs they think they are actually good lbs Its still rank 1 killer who sweat harder then a obese guy in the summer lbs cmon now u must be a killer dont say that ######### is accectable because it isnt lbs we dont have ANY perks to combat a face camping tunneler lbs
Chill out before commenting. This comment is hard to read and very hard to take seriously.

As long as tunneling and camping is in the state that it is in. Meta perks will remain meta.
That's why I have 0 sympathy for people who complain about DS and BT, because you cannot predict what type of player (yes, player not killer) you're going to get. So if you get camped match after match, why wouldn't you think you need something to counter it?
Other survivors doing gens doesn't fix the fundamental issue that the player on the hook literally is not playing the game. They entered a match already on a hook as bait.
People don't get face camped every game. And even when they were, they still played the game. They aren't entitled to certain time on map without being on hook. Yes it sucks when you go on the hook in first 2 mins and get face camped when it happens but you still very much played the game.

Well you go ahead and do that and send me a clip then you can tell me it’s possible most of the time it’s just some salty kid calling out someone for hacking when they aren’t
It is possible to hack consoles. Rarely people do that because it requires more than just downloading cheats but it still is very much a possibility. Not all are just salty kids calling hacks, sometimes it could be an actual hacker.

I'm a Billy main. On survivor side I kinda just went with Jake because I needed calm spirit and iron will and already had BT and DH unlocked.

Gen speeds are fine. The issue is with matchmaking and ranks boosting killers where they don't belong (especially Noed gamers)
Issue with matchmaking is survivors who are boosted to reds and purples and killers getting unfair matches. Why do you think killers have resorted to using noed so much? BTW there is an easy counter to noed, there is no counter for low rank killers against players with 1000+ hours more playtime.
-
I love those people who come to teabag while I'm chasing their friend and they end up getting chainsawed 20 seconds later.

I enjoy playing against my main, Billy. I don't enjoy playing against Legion. It's just oh great, here he/she comes again with frenzy, oh wow, time to mend for the nth time.

I want lemonade with my cake slice!

So far DS has been no trouble. But then again I just recently started getting something else than green rank or lower killers.

I don't mind solos running them but when full swf runs every meta perk, including that fkin OoO, and abuses the fk out of them, then it becomes an issue.

Reading comments and I can agree with a lot of what yall are saying, but I still think that if you were able to provide proof that the killer was literally just standing in front of you and there is no viable way to save the survivor, it should be a bannable offense. Im all for walking around in view of the hooked survivor but standing there and not giving them a chance is comeplete BS and ruins the game.
Lots of things can ruin the game. Should everything be bannable that ruins the game for someone? We would have to ban every player in this game

I've only been playing for a few months myself, and in that time I have had some very unfun matches. The new MMR system was supposed to be implemented this month, but considering that it didn't happen during the rank reset, or the new patch going live, or even with the new event, means most likely it's not happening anytime soon.
I'm a level 13 killer that constanly gets matched against purple and red rank survivors. And since swf teams can communicate with each other about what I'm doing and where I'm at even after dying, is probably one of the strongest abilities that a survivor can have. This is why I'm honestly too scared to play killer which is just f***** up. Survivors should be scared of the killer, not vice versa. But going up against survivors that are clearly more experienced and skilled then I am, makes DBD an absolute chore to play.
It sucks, I know. Been playing for a month and from the start matches have been unfair. But I have kept going and I can hold my own now. I do lose in 5 mins when I'm against top survivors but other than that, I can manage just fine. I was pissed about matchmaking but now it seems that it actually made me a favor. I have been on steady climb and game has been really enjoyable. Especially when I can get the 4k against reds without a sweat.
-
Billy is fun! I use BBQ, pop, infectious/enduring and corrupt. Most of the time I don't use addons but when I do, I use charge and turn addons. I got my adept last night but being rank 8 killer, I guess it is a lot easier to pull of merciless than it is as a red rank killer.
-
Did you pick up crown? It gives extra points so with it you could go over 32k I guess.

Nothing rivals LoL, it is without a doubt the most toxic game I've ever witnessed. I would say DBD is close with CSGO.

Name any game that any of those companies have put out, that HASN'T actually been a beta, that release as many broken patches as BHVR and takes as long to fix them, and repeatedly breaks the same things over and over again (sounds have been off and on broken for years). Go ahead, I'll wait. I'll likely die of old age before you can truthfully answer, though; and I'm only 32.

Bugs happen with every piece of software - correct.
The ISSUE here is, BHVR and to a lesser extent (which is actually hard to fathom) Bethesda are the only companies that seem to consistently release patch after patch after patch with at least 1 game breaking bug in it. BHVR is also the company who CONSISTENTLY breaks sound at least a few times a year, and are one of like 2 companies who hold OPEN BETA's and DO NOT FIX THE REPORTED ISSUES. DBD's patches literally release with more issues than Batman: Arkham Knight on PC did in 2015; and as others have said, they're anniversary event literally being broken is the cherry on the proverbial cake.
You are blatantly ignoring actual evidence in favor of just blindly defending their lacking QA and trying to justify it. You have no logic to stand on here, and you can't win this. You're literally just quoting things you googled. "All software has bugs".
Activision/Blizzard, PUBG and Riot to name a few. It really isn't that uncommon. Bugs happen and they get fixed, which will bring more bugs and then they get fixed. It is a never ending cycle.

Yes, but since it's only a holiday in Quebec it's technically not a "national holiday", which is completely irrelevant to the point that was being made.

No, it's only a holiday in Quebec. I live here. I was born in western Canada. Please verify your information before posting. Jean-Baptiste day is Quebec only. It's not even close to a "national holiday".
Besides - those are both poor excuses. This shouldn't have been a thing to begin with. The event should be extended by however long this takes to fix, cause this is a damn joke.
Though - with the state of the game after the last few patches, we shouldn't be surprised that the event ended up bugged. It's clear BHVR doesn't play test anything; and if you're going to tell me they do play test...it's obvious they do a lackluster job of it if this SOMEHOW got passed QA.
You can reprimand me for saying that if you want - but I'm being more than respectful, and I'm not saying anything that everyone here doesn't already know is 100% accurate.
Isn't Montreal in Quebec? Where BHVR is located?
