If they're adamant about going through with this SBMM plan then yes the SBMM should be visible. I always hated invisible matchmaking scores
-
Bro your post is a mess, honestly all I'm getting from this is your a new player and don't understand how the game works so you got frustrated and decided to make a post on it.

…When I’m not the one who disconnected? The killer disconnected and I get a three minute cooldown? Why?
because you've been BHVR'd, their systems not working right is one of the reasons I don't think there should be a dc penalty since it just penalizes people who have hardware, software, or internet malfunctions more then anything. People who want out will just kill themselves on first hook anyways
-
if you're directly on it I dont think looking up works but its got a long fuse time so just be careful not to be directly on it when it goes off or just look away when it blows
-
As a blight player I can attest to this, his hitboxes are wildly inconsistent and I've lost games because for some reason or another blight just decided to either hit air or slide off a solid wall, Thanks BHVR!!!

Pretty much all of these can be countered by a spirit with a good headset, and the flashlight thing might work once then she can just turn around and again use her ears. Pre dropping pallets work but I already said that works and if you do that the whole match you will very likely leave the whole map a dead zone before your team finishes the gens unless you are a very coordinated team or got extremely lucky with how many pallets or god windows you get. Spine chill can be worked around if they suspect you have it as its not super difficult to deduce and even then you aren't likely to have it every game so I still wouldn't call that consistent, the new IW does work well against her now that stridor doesn't affect it in anyway but still you can hear footsteps, (normally I think there is a bug that you cant hear footsteps while in phase but I'm not gonna take a bug into account unless bhvr comes out and says its now base kit). Immersion is never a guarantee and it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to put on blendette and again if the killer is running BBQ or any other good tracking perk that's unlikely to work anyways, and I'm not even sure what fast vaulting a window for "deception" means.
-
If you held them there without EGC active then yes but since EGC had already started no you were completely fine they massively f*cked up to allow you to do that and honestly if I were them i'd find it pretty damn funny

There's far more counterplay than just dropping pallets early. That isn't always a good thing to do either. And mindgames against her really aren't anymore of a coin flip than any mindgame.
What do you consider to be "reliable" counterplay?
What consistent counterplay does she have that doesnt involve the spirit just messing up?

You can't say they haven't done anything about her in "so long." Relatively speaking she hasn't been in the game that long and it's only been about a year since she and her add-ons received some major nerfs. The only nerf she didn't get at that time was having a phase animation added because the devs intend for her power activation to be a secret.
The argument about Spirit having "no counterplay" is probably the best example of survivors refusing to adapt or change their playstyle based on killer that there is. There are so many videos showing how to counter her. People on the forum describe how to counter her. She's barely in the top 5 killers for kill rate. Freddy, Doctor, Bubba, and Pig all have a higher kill rate than she does and Myers is only half a percentage point from surpassing her. There is absolutely no information to prove that the problem is anything other that survivors playing poorly.
You say that yet even at the highest levels of DBD the only "counter" is just dropping pallets as soon as you get to them. Like the problem isn't that she cant be beat, its that she has no reliable counter play in chase. Death slinger has a similar issue but he has no map pressure so its less of a problem. People don't want to face a killer who you have to just flip a coin on a mind game with almost no info and hope she f*cks up

Because most of the time it's true. People complain about the most innocuous things.
this is a forum people will literally complain about everything, but that's not what I'm talking about, there has been a large outcry of dissent towards spirit for almost her entire lifespan as a killer and now that people are absolutely done with her now its the people who wont "adapts" fault and not bhvr for not doing anything. You think she is fun to play hell you can even think she is fun to play against but you have to recognize the reason why so many don't

Its ok against a team that brings strong tools and addons as well but you can tell that in the lobby so for the majority of cases they are certainly not fine, and I say this as someone who mains wraith. Those addons are busted

When Spirit got her "rework" or whatever you want to call it, they nerfed evwry single add-on that people asked them too. Some of them were actually busted back then. The Prayer Beads were a huge problem and the one most people complained about. They also neefed the Wakazashi Blade and the Yakuyoke Amulet. Everyone was happy with that. They were happy with it right up until a couple of streamers came out and said "Spirits add-ons are still busted." and since people love to jump on every hate Spirit bandwagon, they went back to crying about them being broken. Her add-ons are fine. They're the only add-ons on the game that do what add-one should do. They enhance her powers without some gimmicky BS or without a major drawback to using them.
DBD is the only game I know that is so horribly unbalanced with most scenarios and people are just like "if you dont like it, you're the problem"

Tell me. I have no idea.
Wraith got his windstorm as basekit and while i think he really needed it, trapper is in a worse state without a bag.
Almost every trapper uses bag addons, right? So the data should show the devs that this addon is needed or op. And its obviously not op.
Trapper is not one of the strongest killer. Arguely the weakest and his killrate is not one of the best like pig.
From what ive heard the majority of the community is for this change and its easy to implement. They would just need a new addon for the brown bag.
Its trapper. The first killer. The poster boy. Many still start with him when they buy the game.
So do i miss something? Why was this change not made long ago?
Because bhvr has a horrible dev cycle where they make content on a 3 month cycle that some how manages to both feel extremely minute but also takes way more effort then necessary. Also they probably spend an unholy amount of time fixing their own bugs only for a large amount to still make it to live.
Its honestly impressive how much work they put in for how little they have to show for it every chapter.

A little late on this one but I do agree that key escape challenges should never be a thing. Hatch escapes are one thing but deliberately telling players to use probably the most controversial item in the game currently is just asking for trouble.

Calm Spirit also prevents crows from flying away, meaning you can sneak around a lot easier on certain maps like the tugboat in the swamp.
I dont think it prevents, i think it just makes it harder for you to scare them away.

Thank you for admitting Dead Hard can be baited. Now you will eventually realize how to do this in most situations, and force it onto a cooldown under some form of condition you can control. Let's not talk about indoors, where you can either push them to use it to get to a pallet, which is a new mind game where you bait the pallet drop, or you could possibly force them to a window where you can now start playing the Window mind games, or to a corner that leads nowhere, etc. etc.
It's amazing what happens when you realize "It's ok to drop chase for two seconds, and let DH just be on cooldown."
Yeah just drop chase when you otherwise would have had a down that's sometimes the correct choice but being able to force a killer to break chase is incredibly powerful. You can play around it the best you can but that will only get you so far, sometimes you just really need a down to win a game and dead hard can deny that with the press of the E key. Not too mention say you do drop chase and let DH be on cooldown who's to say they wont have it back by the time you go them later then you go through the same process you can't just say "well just drop chase if they use DH to a pallet" that's a very easy way to lose a massive amount of pressure against a good team.

It's baitable by pressing M1 super late. Imagine you're in a corn field, and they have nothing to hide behind except the generator. They use it out in the open to get away from you, when they assume you're gonna strike because you got close enough.
How is intentionally not swinging, knowing they will use DH, not considered baiting? Just because it doubles as a boon for the survivor to get to some form of cover doesn't mean it wasn't baited.
Okay these are 2 very different uses of dead hard one is hoping the killer f*cks up and the other is legitimately uncounterable. I commented about how dead hard FOR DISTANCE had no counter play and you told me to just bait it out. Smart survivors aren't gonna get caught in a dead zone unless they have literally nowhere else to go, which means either the map royally screwed them over or they messed up what gens to do, so yes dead hard in a dead zone can be baited out but if the survivor has a few brain cells that's not how its gonna be used unless as a last resort.
-
Spirit is a problem but not the only problem.

I'm not understanding the complaint. Holding w is distance. Does chasing somebody mean they're gaining distance?
Okay think of this you are closing in on a survivor but you aren't within swing distance but you will catch them before they make it too the next pallet/window so they also realize this but they press their E key and now they make it and extend the chase by who knows how long. So can you tell me how that's baitable?
-
I mean it already gives you bonus's to healing, repairing, and cleansing I don't see why it needs more. The effect of OoO is far more powerful then spine chill so its secondary effect should definitely be as strong.
-
Twins need far more then a cosmetic change IMO. Personally I find them to be one of the worst designed killers in the game right now and tied for my least favorite killer to play against.
-
Yeah I'd still far prefer they just remove perk tiers they seem ridiculous and redundant at this point
-
Because their optimization team is a bunch of chimpanzees banging on a typewriter
-
You actually answer you're own question no she doesn't have consistent counter play that's why she is a problem and why no one wants to play against her(obviously some do but most don't) so yeah obviously people are gonna dc against her since bhvr seems to refuse to do anything about her

imo the Realm Beyond is the only good update we've had so far, i can always appreciate new models and revamped maps cause they never disappoint.
I've been highly disappointed with almost every single one so far. I dont really care that much about the graphics of the game and if it was purely a face lift that didn't change anything balance wise i would've far more middle of the road on it but thats not the case is it now.

Does every Killer need to buffed into Opression land?
Trickster and Nemesis come to mind as recent examples.
Trickster certainly wasn't OP and why can't that be ok. All he really needed was a fix to his Chase interactions while throwing knives so you wouldn't de-pip. His ranged ability shuts down a lot of looping options. He's weak indoors, or was.
Nemesis is pretty balanced in my opinion, certainly not OP and, unique being the first Killer with AI.
Do we really need to buff every Killer that can't ZOOM across the map or one hit down?
I mean the ideal is for every killer to be viable but not broken against most teams and maps but that will also likely never happen but I see no problem with trying to achieve it even if bhvr doesn't have a great track record with these kind of things
-
On survivor its spine chill resilience and on killer its stbfl and surge.

Honestly perks like Dark Sense, Alert or new OoO isn't powerful perks. This buff will help but still they will not be too good or broken.
Unlike old OoO it was unfair for stealthy killers like GF or Wraith. because you counter their whole power.
Alert or OoO may not be meta but they are still very strong perks if you know how to use them sure they lose a lot of effectiveness against stealth killers but that's a roll of the die you have to accept when you take these perks. Aura reading is very powerful which is why the perks that can do it are under strict conditions otherwise you get old OoO. Its not like other perks aren't hard countered by killer mechanics, whole healing builds are completely shut out by legion and plague, IW is countered by Plague again and Nemesis, DS and BT are countered by P-head plenty of perks are countered specific killers and its not like stealth killer make up very much of the killer cast on really Wraith and Ghost face rely on it and pig and Myers only touch on it since Myers only stays undetectable in his weakest form and pig doesn't just go everywhere crouched or anything.
Not too mention Spine chill still works on stealth killers anyways so if you're really worried about OoO not being good enough run both its not a bad build with resilience and dead hard, as long as your good at looping at least and your not going against a nurse who knows what they're doing. Also I forgot too mention that with that key addon you can get free aura reading that way without even using OoO so unless they start dividing aura reading into stronger and weaker categories making it so they can see through undetectable wouldn't be a great idea imo
-
Bill is my bet, see him all the time and I think people are forgetting he's a licensed survivor.
Killer wise, well a few updates ago I would've said Freddy but now its probably bubba.
-
Yeah probably, same with mothers dwelling. Both of those would be good 2v8 maps.
-
@Name_Unavailable said:
A while ago Undetectable status effect was buffed so Object of Obsession user can't counter all stealthy killers so easily. But now after nerfing OoO shouldn't aura reading perks can reveal undetectable killers again?
I see no problem with that now. Most survivors aura reading perks are okiesh. But for example perk like Kindred can counter Insidious.
Id say no, the reason undetectable was buffed wasn't just because of old OoO too many killer perks and powers were countered by aura reading survivor perks also lets be honest was kind of counter intuitive for a status effect called undetectable to only remove your terror radius and red stain and still allow you to be detected by aura perks like OoO, dark sense, and alert.

Examples? Cause I have plenty of examples of teachable that don't work well with their killer.

Was Chapel considered a well balanced map? The only thing I ever heard about it was that it was tiny, never heard anyone say that it was well balanced.
Personally I thought it was one of the most balanced maps in the game. I still think its up there but just slightly more annoying now. Its small and outdoors so the killer can spread pressure properly with skill and knowledge however its still fairly dense and has enough loops and structures for a good team to delay if they play their cards right and outplay the killer or just spread out on gens that still works but only at the highest levels can it be done right.
I consider it one of the more balanced maps.in the game since it allows both sides to express their skills and has a smaller chance of screwing over one side or the other by rng, though with the new window spawns in the main building they've made it more likely for you to get very strong windows along with the rest of the map but breakable walls can somewhat neuter some of the window spawns but even then sometimes they can be fairly frustrating for killer. That being said the windows and wall setups can sometimes make the main building a death trap for survivors but a decent bit more rare then it being mostly fair.
-
Most teachables don't synergize well with the killers they come with.

Good. for. you.
Your entire posts is just making excuses with strawman arguments , you people know the sh** is unfair why the hell is it such an endeavor to fix your lips to admit that ? How the hell can custom games be unbalanced ? You have free- reign over game rules , maps , and you're all on coms and can negotiate what perks yall wanna use . The fact that you're trying to find an excuse for why custom-games isn't the perfect fit for friends is just - EXCUSES.
Then you said - ''what if its 2 or 3'' ? then the inconsiderate 2-3 of you just ruin the game for the solo-survivor and the killer , all the while wasting 3 slots that other solo-players could've had. not only that - but you screw up the algorithm with your rainbow ranks or ranks in general that just throws off the matchmaking . why cant 2 swfs be matched with another 2 swfs is beyond me also - but keep making excuses for sleezy , greasy and sweaty ways to play that suck .
Nobody cares about the ''what if's'' with the SWF the point is that ITS NOT FAIR AND RUINS THE GAME. wheres the dispute with that ? there is NONE .
A full 4 man swf can be unbalanced true a 3 man is hardly op though. Have you ever played dbd with friends? Most people aren't playing sweaty they're just f*cking around mostly or just playing to have fun so I really don't know where you are getting this perception that people play in 4 man for the advantage and not just because they want an excuse to talk with their friends and play video games together. And sure you can modify the "rules" all you want in customs by just saying you won't do certain things but as someone who started playing the game that way, it gets boring really fast.
So again I ask you to give me a good reason for the devs to outright remove swf, even though again it was a highly asked for feature when the game was very early in its life and was added because of player feedback, instead of just buffing solo queue to as close to swf levels as possible then buffing the killer base kit to compensate or hell you can even nerf swf slightly but I find that option a little more distasteful but it is an option.
You also didn't address what removing swfs would do to queue times so id like your thoughts on that. I also don't remember ever using a straw man argument these are legitimate issues that would come with your wish to get rid of swf outside of custom games(also bhvr has stated they have not plans currently to improve customs and frankly custom games "customization" is pretty bad not too mention if you were to ever want to play the now completely solo queue matches all your time in customs will have left you with no leveled up characters.
Lastly I stopped using insults because I legitimately wanted your feedback on my questions which you mostly just walked around because they were "straw man" arguments even though they'd be legitimate concerns for bhvr if they were to ever go through with what you want.
