You can go to another thread now ; retorting to ad-hominems and making it personal is not my problem . i made a valid statement thats worth a complaint and you got a problem with it because it conflicts with your inconsiderate and self-absorbed ego . bye bye now .

Well for one just because you started the thread doesn't give you ownership over it, I can do or say what I want on this thread. Two your statement isn't valid just because you feel strongly about it also the majority of the playerbase plays at least somewhat in swf disabling it or separating queues would not be good for the game and definitely not for solo queue.

So let's address your idea of "just go into customs" so whats a group of 2, 3, or even 4 supposed to do in custom games? The games not balanced for it. Another thing how much enjoyment can you get out of playing against the same 4 people over and over again? What about how devastating removing swfs would be to queue times? You know a large portion of the population would quit the game over swf removal right?

SWFs was an addition to the game it wasn't there at launch or at least it wasn't there in its earliest forms not sure (not sure when exactly it was added) it was highly requested why would they remove it now years later?

Can you answer those questions legitimately since you brought up this whole topic ill drop the "personal" attacks I want your legit answer to those questions. Obviously you don't have to answer but all that tells me is that you don't have an answer to them.

good for you ; your track record , personal experiences , and opinions are irrelevant - this thread is valid complaints based in facts . keep making excuses for wanting to sweatwithfriends instead of just owning up to the fact that its a slimeball way to play the game . instead of going to custom games , that the mode was designed for.

    excuses , excuses .

"Your opinion is invalid my opinion is fact" are you a child?

go to custom games and stop ruining the game for people who play alone .

Bro I'm a killer main, playing with friends is like maybe 10% of my game time and survivor is at most 20% of my 1k hours I've done every survivor challenge from the last 4 tome chapters and all the ones from this chapter so far and you don't see me b*tching.

My friends stopped playing dbd well before I got to rank 1 survivor and don't get me wrong solo queue sucks at times which is why I play mostly killer but don't delude yourself into thinking it ruins the game.

A lot of people also conflate "listening to" with "doing exactly what people want, no matter what it is". The devs are humans, capable of independent thought. They can listen and disagree, like anyone else.

Oh we know they can disagree alright. Billy's update was clear evidence of that.

  • @sulaiman said:

But they should seperate swf from solo queue and balance both modes seperatly, because otherwise this game will never be balanced. SWF do have an advantage that needs to be balanced out for killers.#

But it will never happen, thats why this game will keep rebalancing, so some times killers are up (even against swf), and sometimes they are down so solos can still play.

Bhvr can barely keep up with one game mode, not too mention we've wanted a new game mode for years, what makes you think they can properly balance 2 different queues also how would 3 queuing work?.

Completley agree. Literally all of them are widely accepted to be in the top 10 worst maps.

Gideon used to be mildly acceptable but that too is now awful as well.

Well, the topic at hand is D/Cing, not those other bugs. The amount of people suiciding on first hook is vastly lower than the amount of people D/Cing for dumb reasons. At the very least, the worthless Survivor can keep the Killer busy while they take them to hook (each second counts in this game) and can also serve as bait to the Killer if they decide to stand around and watch in disgust as the suiciding turd goes bye bye.

Okay you will still lose a 3v1 unless you are significantly better then the killer in which case it being a dc wouldn't have mattered. Also the amount of people who still dc or kill themselves on first hook because they got downed to quick is still like every 3 or 4 games its only moderately less then when the dc penalty was on but the amount of suicide on first hook has definitely compensated.

Also I don't camp or tunnel when possible either nor do I run ruin/undying, the only slowdowns I run are pop and surge and almost never together.

  • @Heartbound said:

Back when the game was new there was no survive with friends option and survivors would enter and exit lobbies until they found their friends and a lot of people were vocal about wanting a survive with friends feature. People were going to find each other anyway. (Game population wasn't nearly as big, its just the way it was.)

That's why it's here. It wasn't really a game balance thing. It was an inevitability. I don't think this game was ever supposed to be taken competitively anyway. It was just cheeky slasher hide and seek. Winning and losing were kinda after thoughts.

Also bhvr would never disable swf they'd just be shooting themselves in the foot. I dont even play survivor much and even when I do only like 50% is with swf and if they disabled it id stop playing.

90 people is a small fraction of those that play this game. If it was an issue with the game there would be a lot more having problems.

    90 pages

  • @Kyxlect said:

No, don't disable it because one person is having issues. Fix it whilst keeping the D/C penalty enabled. Go report your issue in the bug subsection instead of making insane suggestions.

The D/Cing was rampant when it was disabled. Survivor's D/Cing over the dumbest things like the Killer, the Map or even the fact that they got downed first and that affects the three other Survivor's that are stuck in the trial with a much bigger disadvantage because of one immature little...ehm, problematic person.

Its definitely not one person dude. Not too mention the myriad of other bugs that have been in the game for years. All the dc penalty does is punish people who have actual crashes people who would've dc'd just kill themselves on first hook for the same effect anyways on just eat a 5 minute penalty then go on to kill themselves on first hook. It literally solves nothing.

  • You know most swfs are 2-3 people most aren't full stacks and with each person more it becomes harder to find another. Also id day "ruin" is a bit of an overreaction to say the least. Maybe try getting friends.

  • Lately its been farming in d2.

  • @Shirtless_Myers said:

Borrowed Time is fine as it is. If the survivor is willing to body block with the endurance, all you'd need to do is wait out twelve seconds. It's not hard to play around unless they're already at a gate, but you've lost at that point regardless.

I dont disagree but I do think it promotes some toxic behaviors mainly just survivors thinking that if they just got unhooked they're justified to do whatever they want otherwise the otherwise is the bad guy. Plus if they went ahead with this change it'd help against bubba camping since he wouldn't be able to down you again immediately.

There's BT and DS, that's it, that's 'All the perks that punish camping and tunnelling'.

There's also unbreakable, sprint burst, dead hard, and commraderie, prove thyself too if you wanna be technical.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404824#Comment_2404824

Yeah, camping is easily countered -by what-?

    Genrushing.

Literally not doing anything else but min-max the gens to get as much work done for the 120 seconds that the killer is camping and praying that you get out before he's done and/or that he doesn't have NOED.

Gens can't be slowed down in any capacity until camping has a baseline countermeasure. As I said, you'd shift the meta a bit if solo gen speeds were slower than co-op gen speeds to make sure that the safest option for doing gens isn't also the fastest one. But that would require a camping nerf, because otherwise camping will guarantee a 2K or better.

I'm not saying gens should be slowdowned I think the gen speed in the game currently is fine after all just holding m1 on a gen is one of the most boring things in the game hence why I think most maps in the game should be about coal tower size. Also you know what else counters camping, not getting downed in the first place or at least dragging out the first chase for as long as possible then your team has plenty of extra time to work on gens even if the killer decides to camp you from stage 1 till death.

Not too mention all the perks in the game that punish camping and tunneling.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404612#Comment_2404612

It kind of does, because any changes made that benefit camping would increase the number of campers, and since no one enjoys a trial with camping in it, that'd kill the game off.

No killer enjoys being genrushed yet you say its a mandatory existence due to camping even though camping is easily countered and genrushing has been the meta strat since the games inception.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404567#Comment_2404567

It'll take less time for the killer to move from target to target, so the survivors likely have less time before the first down. That leaves more work to be done in the same amount of hang time, and if they don't get it all done in the first hook, the killer has an easier time finding a second target, or using NOED to slug for the 4k.

Everything that makes things easier on the killer makes things easier on the campers.

I mean I guess but like still doesn't mean the game should be balanced around campers.

  • Would it? Killers who camp don't really move around much and if they are thats not camping, proxying maybe but that's a different issue since killers like twins can proxy from across the map.

Id argue that maps like coal tower are the most balanced map in the game with it being small but also dense allowing for looping but still having a decent amount of tiles and loops while still keeping the map fairly small.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2404496#Comment_2404496

And nothing can be done about it, because any slowdowns would push camping from a guaranteed 1k to a 2k or worse.

I had an idea to slow down solo gen speeds and speed up co-op gen speeds to compensate, to where co-op gens go faster than solo. This would make it easier for the killer to apply pressure and increases the value of them hooking someone, as it removes that survivor's co-op bonus as well. I think it'd greatly reduce the stress and pressure on killers, while improving strategic variety for survivors: go safe and slow by splitting up, or be fast and risky by grouping up.

However, this idea can't be implemented unless camping is crippled, since it would all but guarantee that camping would grant a 2k or worse.

Camping is locking up the entire game.

Smaller maps would help with gen rushing a ton.

It’s not as bad as it used to be but it’s still not very bearable to play on. I would much rather get it than pallet plant, Haddonfield, and hold W sim known as Midwich.

Personally I find the main building worse then it use to be but the rest of the map slightly better overall its still feels pretty awful and easily one of my least favorite maps in the game and getting 4 times in a row the other day really reminded me of that.

It does matter what year they took place. Five years' worth of patching has drastically altered the game, so an experiment ran that long ago doesn't represent the current state of the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403886#Comment_2403886

That's because the general survivor meta has been predicated mostly on three perks that all revolve around making the game playable against a killer that tries to prevent you from playing.

The meta won't change, because it can't. Genrushing is a requirement as long as camping exists.

Gen rushing beats literally any playstyle though not just genrsuhing.

  • @CornHub said:

XD fair, I just like to give people the benefit of the doubt that there's an actual reason.

Because there is no benefit to it outside of that, and so them doing this is actually just creating more work for themselves (which we know they don't like to do)

There is no benefit to a lot of the things bhvr does. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume most problems arise because of a poor coding base or just early dev decisions that didn't pan out the way they thought it would but with each mistake I give them less and less credit.

Yes I have, quite a few.

Yes, but do you know why they don't tend to go over the bp cap? Because that's easy to detect.

Its a lot easier to detect for above 1m blood points then arbitrary lines about how much you can gain at once (especially with the archives being a thing rn)

That's probably a lot easier to check for.

And yes in specific moments they can ignore it, but that's probably when they stop detecting for over 1 million.

Now is this all hearsay? Yes.

But it's the only logical explanation to why they would waste the time and coding to do this.

BHVR and logical explanations often do not line up

I'm not even trying to bully anyway, I just want to be in a place with enough room to actually use any perk I want instead of the hyper meta perks, or forced to camp/tunnel/slug because thats just how fast the game is.

I'm trying to suggest this to remove a lot of toxic behavior.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403962#Comment_2403962

I agree its not fun at all, thats why I'm trying to add this so I can just reset my rank after I hit rank 1. I would much rather play the game and have fun with people in low ranks pulling my punches and letting everyone go at the end since I actually had the chance to have an enjoyable game instead of survivors holding M1 for 220~ seconds and being out.

Then use what perks you want and play the way you want. You just want an easy win against people with little to no experience with your "fun build" how is it fair for a someone who just started to go up against someone who's gotten to rank 1. Not too mention even if you don't abuse it to bully newer players I guarantee you someone else will

Mate the problem is not that I'm bad, I can end a game as huntress in 3 minutes without reloading. The problem is that I don't want to sweat so hard every game. Its supposed to be fun but it gives me acid reflux.

okay then don't sweat easy as that you don't need to go bully some one who just installed the game to do that

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2403944#Comment_2403944

Yeah I agree, I would love to play the game to enjoy it. So let me drop my rank back down to 17 or 13 or whatever it needs to be to get try hards out of my games. People are going to easily smurf all the want anyway. Can't you just family share all DLCs to a new steam account and have everything fresh at level 20? Whats to stop PC players from doing that 800 times a day when I just want to go back to where all the perks I worked for are actually worth anything.

bro just play the way you want and if you start loosing you will be where you want to be anyways why does bhvr have to just hand you easy games by matching you with people who have barely played at all because your bad?

I intensely, and wildly doubt I'd get reported for the easiest games in their lives.

I report killers for afk whenever I see them, its f*cking boring to go against dude. Believe it or not people play the game to, you know, play the game. And you also havent talked about how this would again just be giving people the ability to easily smurf did you think about how badly this would effect the new player experience?

  • Many actually. Legion, Billy, and ghostface to start and Nurse, Huntress, and Trickster if you wanna get technical about it.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

I'm unclear how its any different than forcibly de-pipping myself within the system. Other than fewer games of wraith played doing nothing.

It would take hours to do that and people can kindly report you (not that reports really do much) on your way down.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Playing at high ranks of DBD is exceedingly tedious, boring, and frustrating. Give us the option to reset our rank back down to 20 after we reach rank 1 as a form of prestiging. Actually reward us for getting rank 1 by allowing us to go back to where the game is fun.

So reward you by giving you an in game system to smurf something that in many games is bannable with good reason. That sounds like a great idea-_-

  • So first off this kills spirits ability to use phase walk for mobility which is just a boring change frankly and secondly none of those perks you mentioned are meta so all you'd be doing is pinholing spirits into playing more meta builds which I guarantee would not be the change you want to see

  • @Hykoumi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2398922#Comment_2398922

If you wish to post your opinion and viewpoint please try doing so w/o an aggressive tone, the idea that someone can literally face camp and waste 10-15 minutes of someone's time where they can't DC or they'll suffer an even longer penalty is ridiculous, having to force people to punish someone for camping, and the Devs change playstyles and metas all the time that is literally them telling people how they now have to play the game so your point about "can't tell people how to enjoy a video game they've bought with their own money" is ridiculous its literally Devs jobs to change the meta and change what some people may love but a majority don't.

Most people who enjoy face-camping every game I don't believe are physically enjoying the game and more doing it for a reaction or for a toxic reason, if anything making it so the hook timer pauses within 12m UNLESS a survivor enters that 12m radius would be an optimal change and tbh would improve the overall enjoyment and playstyle of DbD it would encourage people to go out and apply pressure without having to stay in close proximity to hooks to force downs/hits at an unhook, I personally will avoid people I've recently hooked so we can all have an enjoyable game (Im rank 4 with this playstyle so clearly it isn't hard to do as I have 350 hours) Im aware that rank doesn't mean much in Dbd, not until they release the MMR system will any rank etc matter but yeah.

I personally agree that a hook radius maybe with some parameters could be good for the overall health of the game as face camping can literally deter new players from playing the game as they wont enjoy sitting there for 5 minutes to die and then have to watch their friend play for 20 minutes.

At the end of the day it is what it is, some people will always have varying opinions and I feel anyone should be open to voice their own w/o aggressive nature.

Also Borrowed Time (I assume you're referencing) basically relys on your teammates running it in solo queue and things of the nature of sprint burst/dead hard/adrenaline/resilience/balanced landing and lithe are all perks that you can use ONCE per chase w/ the exception of resilience which chase wise only benefits from 9% vault speed but 9/10 it wont make much difference I personally believe the Killers are in one of their strongest states throughout DbD and have many perks/add ons at their disposal to apply immense amounts of pressure w/o having to use cheap tactics to get the upper hand.

If anything I believe the game sways more towards killers these days over survivors, that's my two cents anyways, take it or leave it.

Well to start people have been re-suggesting this idea for a long time now and seeing it every 2-3 weeks is tiring and annoying since people have to go through the same song and dance of "this was tries already and it was abused horribly" "how was it abused?" *insert explanation* also if the devs have been changing what the meta is then why has the meta for the game been almost exactly the same for 4 years, you split up do gens run killers away from gens in the progress of being worked on and play hyper safe until all 5 gens are done. The methods that you achieve this meta have altered slightly mostly just because of ways to achieve this have been nerfed over the years. No perk or system nerf/buff has changed this survivor meta since the game came out.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/266390/the-bloodpoint-cap-is-pointless

There's another reason it was added to, but they don't say it often.

It's to deter hacking as you have to do it an insane amount of time to actually P3 everyone.

Now let's say 1m gives you a character to lvl 50.

That means, you need to hack:

    ((1*3)*(24 killers+26 survivors))=3*50=150

This isn't even to get every perk to tier 3 on each character, which would cost probably another 50 hacks if not more.

That's a massive deterrent if you ask me.

Have you ever seen a hacker in this game. Trust me they don't care about quantity plus if they give themselves bp they can go over the bp cap anyways. There is a secondary hard cap of how many bp you can have since if you are at the 1m cap and are given bp through say a bhvr f*ck up forgiveness plan like the 300k we got after the event then you'd still have 1.3m idk what that cap is but I would be highly surprised if they weren't able to go past even that anyways. The cap is only there so that people don't hoard blood points.

I don't know what you're on about, because in the very post of mine you quoted I stated that the new system treats both sides equally.

And no, the overwhelming majority of times when people complained about the old system, they were talked down and told to aDaPT and don't greed pallets because it was lAtEnCy, all online games worked like that and it looked fInE on the killers screen.

As stated, the same justifications apply here. So, lose the double standard.

For once bhvr made a balanced feature. Period. Laggers won't be carried anymore by stupid hits when the pallets down. Good riddance. Welcome to how we good ping killers have been playing the game for years.

I have good ping, 40ms or less and im still getting hits robbed. I check the ping of the person who was just saved by it and they almost always have worse ping. So how does that work?

"It looked fine on the killer's screen" has literally been the justification for bs hits parroted on this forum for years.

Now, because good ping survivors have one fewer instance of unfair hits, that justification is not valid for them? Double standard off the charts, if you ask me.

If both players have the same ping, whoever registers the action first wins. If either one lags, they get penalized, instead of profiting from it.

*People ask for it to be balanced on both sides* "wow what double standards" you act like killers didn't know it was a problem before and said that it needed fixing, why do you think this "fix" is so frustrating they didn't fix the problem at all just kicked it further down the road

I have the same connection or a hair better. I haven't experienced a single instance of a hit getting invalidated.

I get simply stunned, or the hit lands as well. But I never see the blood splatter and hear the scream without taking a health state.

Check if your connection fluctuates. I use netlimiter for this.

I'm not downloading some random program not too mention I'm probably not gonna be playing much for next few days but I have a hardwire connection and only very rarely experience lag spikes or even fluctuations. Also every time I got robbed of a hit I checked connections as soon as I could and pretty much always had a better connection then the person who stunned me
