I will use the offering as much as I can. And thank god you belong to the minority of people who are too stubborn to learn something new, holy #########..

And I hope you get camped for it or if you're the killer, idk you're obviously a masochistic have fun with it.

Maybe i love this map or maybe i wanna get good at this map? Maybe i never played on this map and i wanna try? Sometimes i hate The Game and Coldwind but i am not dc'ing when i get this maps. Just don't be kid.

Sorry but I wont support BHVR's terrible map design and I have no sympathy for anyone intentionally bringing me to that map

I mean I'm gonna burn through my Sacrificial Wards first.

I have a good PC I can start the game pretty quick

Seriously it's one map in a game with so many maps. The most common excuse I hear about it is "Oh it doesn't suit the game" or "it's not good gameplay wise" etc. I'm glad they agree it's a beautiful map at least...

The fact that people dc when they get it as well just proves to me the entitlement of players on this game. Seriously enough is enough. You don't get it all the time, it's on a rotation with different maps and the offering for it is disabled ffs... seriously this community drives me insane at how entitled and childish it can be.

Sorry just had to have a little rant about it lol.

Its not just one map, its one more terrible map added to a growing list of maps I'd rather sit in a lobby then play on. It's not an entitlement problem its a BHVR map design problem that they'd manage to make so many terrible maps that people get so fed up with playing them.

I still love me some Billy but he needs an addon rework.

They need to remove overheat and then rework the addons that affected and he'd be perfect, also remove the scream or make it so it only does it rarely or after a certain amount of time since the last one

  • idk but I dc'd yesterday because haddonfield had all its windows open and I got no dc penalty

Really? I thought that the animation change was a debunked myth. Is there something in particular that cues you when a Spirit Phases?

Also that would be a nice and simple change! Although what worries me would be that while you know the Spirit is Phasing, you would still have no idea where she is. As I understand it, one of the main problems with Spirit right now is that good Spirit players can use the audio from Survivors to get an almost exact location, whereas Survivors get nothing. Do you think that directional sound ques (cues?) would be enough for Survivors to get an accurate idea of where the Spirit is?

Its not super consistent but you can do it fairly easily if she is trying to do the "do nothing mindgame" which is why I say i'd be fine with making it an actual intended mechanic instead of it mostly just being the product of wonky animation interactions

  • Probably lopro and green engravings and or brown overheat addon, at least until they remove overheat(a boy can dream).

  • Because Hillbilly was fun and we cant have that here at BHVR

  • I don't think so but tbh never had the opportunity to test this or if I have I don't remember

Ok, so what your saying is that I went to far in the opposite direction? Whereas Spirit right now gives arguably too little information on when she is Phasing, this change would give too much information right? That's a fair point. I honestly was just trying to come up with some sort of indicator that would let Survivor's now she is using her power.

So what about the Scratch Marks, in your opinion, would give the Survivor too much info? Is there anything in particular you think the Survivor shouldn't be able to see/figure out?

Well currently you can tell if spirit is phasing fairly consistently by her animation but you could also just actually make her shards shine properly and obviously or maybe even make her shards retract or something if you want to make it even more clear but I think just directional sound ques while she is phasing would be enough.

These forums are full of SBMM experts...

I didn't read it fully, but you make a lot of assumptions and statements that are not necessarily correct.

Leave it to BHVR to figure out the issues.

Because bhvr has a great track record with anything new. Legit the only thing that they havent messed up from a technical stand point on a large scale was crossplay.

Gameplay on an ugly map doesn't sound like much fun tbh. I hate red forest because it's ugly, and when I play on it, i honestly get bored and want to DC.

Well just differing opinions I guess

  • Yeah that's a pretty good summation of blight gameplay

  • I like most of that but i'll be honest as someone who doesnt play spirit and hates going against her, the scratch mark idea is kind of awful, and gives away way too much info.

  • I'd be fine but I'd prefer some kind of boost to iridescent shard gain for further prestige's like the higher your prestige on a character the more xp you get towards your levels.

  • They could legit use source props for everything I straight up don't care that much about the aesthetics I care far FAR more about the gameplay and I hope they start working more on that aspect instead of the whole realm beyond crap or whatever they've been working on

  • Yeah sorry but this is definitely a horrible idea. There's a reason why P-heads cages do that(also it wasn't there when he first came out) its because being unhooked from a cage doesn't activate any defense perks that survivors have so no DS or BT or comradery either as far as I'm aware but tbh idk about that one since I've never seen it used in my games or at least its never had an impact on my games. Not too mention P-head can hook you instantly without having to pick you up and carry you to a hook so there is no possibility of a flashlight save or body blocking.

So yes this would be OP because when you body block your intention is to not allow the killer to hook the person they are carrying if they reach the hook and manage to actually hook them you have already failed and have likely given the killer multiple health states for free and if you try to unhook in their face you are very likely to go down and give the killer a free farm even with BT.

  • I dont agree. I've seen it like twice in the past 2 months. Ill admit I dont play a lot of survivor but if your at rank 20 i've probably still played more then you

Nice drawings but you should really make an argument for them, instead this is just a thread for people who think Twins is bad.

And just hoping BHVR implements this. Like not all Twins players have a tedious tempo.

That being said, These DO make good quality of life improvements for the Twins.

I'm sure they do but they do little to help with the issues people have with going against twins

  • I'd be down for map bans but killer bans would be a nightmare.

  • Its pretty much never worth it right now there are at least 4 significantly better sneak perks so its just never worth using

Seriously yesterday was just a god damn unenjoyable time, I must of faced multiple hackers throughout the day as either role I played.

    I let the M&K go

I let the low graphics that brighten the game go

I let the filters that make the red stain/scratch Mark's easily Visible go

I let the often bad latency go.

I drew the line at stretched res hoping youd ban it, but now... now hackers are getting this common? They hack their speed, insta heals/gens, super long stuns, holding me in a game forcing me to quit. One of them was even streaming!! Reports do nothing, a video clip as proof does nothing. I cannot get steam ID, players change their name, and the hassle to record a whole match and upload it online for nothing to happen is a joke.

Let me turn off pc in crossplay.

Iv had about enough, I dont care if alot of people turn it off. If there was advantages to full on hacking people wouldn't care. I'd rather just have xbox and playstation together no advantages, no hacking.

I don't know if I'm just lucky but in just under 1k hours I've only run into a super obvious hacker once, which is still 1 too many sure but its to be expected with any large online game I used to run into way more hackers in R6:siege or Hunt showdown. also that one super obvious hacker was from console or could've been from windows store or they hacked the UI but I've only seen that recently with the report UI and never making it so they seem to be on console.

So I've never seen hackers as a serious issue but just from looking at the forums it seems to be an epidemic but to your other issues you can turn off cross play if its such an issue for you and I know that massively increases your queue times but that's life my guy.

  • Depends on the killer, less chase focused killers will likely need more slowdown while the chase oriented killers will likely get enough value out of quick chases to apply more pressure that way. Personally however I prefer chase perks overall.

  • 3 awful chapters in a row will do that to you, im feeling the same right now too tbh.

  • An item offering is probably it but don't try it as just a last resort to try and get some pity, its kind of pathetic but yeah if a killer lets you go and you give them an item definitely a good way to say thank you.

  • @ringwinning said:

I've had three matches today where I've led the killer around on a chase for a few minutes and then they DC. Do y'all think that this is the same level of frustration that survivors feel when we get tunneled? If you're a veteran killer, do you sometimes just go "nah" and eat the 5min penalty?

I've never personally quit because of a chase but I'm just curious because it's happened a lot lately, considering DC penalty has been off.

The only time recently that I've dc'd was for maps and one time when I was trying to do a Ghostface daily to stalk people and 2 of the shitheads just kept following and breaking me out of stealth. I already dont like Ghostface and getting revealed around corners multiple times in a row just gets annoying not too mention they were completely defeating the whole point of me playing Ghostface so I just said f*ck it.

I usually wouldn't dc for such a thing, I normally would've just taken the easy win from 2 people not doing anything useful but my patience for dbd is at an all time low and this happened like 4 days ago and I haven't played since.

  • BBQ will never leave my builds till they take the stacking bp bonus off it and make it base kit, other then that I use a pretty decent variety of like 8-9 perks very often and rotating cast of like 7 or 8 more perks.

  • Yeah no anyone who complains about camping in egc is just plain stupid.

  • @InList said:

I'm really enjoying lethal pursuer and getting a lot of value from it. Sometimes it allows me to get hits on multiple survivors 30 seconds into the match, sometimes I start a chase 15 seconds in and get a down before a gen has even been touched.

I'm wondering if anyone prefers whispers. I feel that LP gives so much value so quickly that it outshines whispers even though it is single use.

I really like both and they have theyre ups and downs. Whispers has a weaker effect but lasts the whole game and is great for defending gates to ensure a 4k if thats your thing. Lethal pursuer has a much stronger and immediate effect that can set up a very strong early game and put yourself in a very strong position to snowball but if you flub it up you basically have a garunteed waste of a perk and will likely have a rough game.

Also id say that many killers won't get as much value out of lethal pursuer as whispers, like trapper or hag since your early game isn't gonna be great anyways and you should focus on your mid to late game.

  • bro you literally just noticed something that's been in the game for as long as I can remember and think its a spirit buff. Really shows where your head is at when you play.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

It’s probably mostly to encourage each player to be involved in multiple parts of the game. Gens, healing, being chased. For killers it’s mostly about encouraging the use of the power.

Probably unfortunately in bhvrs divine wisdom they made certain killers get punished for over using their powers, like wraith for instance he really struggles with hunter points, honestly I feel itd be a better idea to just merge the categories into 2 at least for killers(ie brutality and sacrifice merged and deviousness and hunter points be merged) and just have 2 16k categories

  • @Nullclines said:

Genuine question: could they not just give his Rush the same collision as Billy's chainsaw sprint?

I've been wondering this for a while. I don't think you'd be able to slide as much, but I'd rather have more consistent collisions.

Billy's collision isn't as consistent as one might think either but when blight first released had probably a more similar hitbox to Billy while rushing and frankly blight felt terrible. If you think rounded objects now are bad for blight back then a simple tree was basically impossible for him though I'm sure some of it was just that we didn't know how to play him yet but trust me when I say we don't want to go back to those times

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Currently these feeds into his skill cap. Knowing what can be reliably bounced on and what can not.

I agree it’s a game losing moment to slide off kill shack while chasing a survivor in a time management game.

It reminds me of Nurse from about a year ago. Knowing can be blinked through and what couldn’t.

I'd agree if it wasn't so inconsistent but currently its more like a gamble then anything sometimes you'll slide of the tree other times you wont who knows but if you roll low you ain't getting that hit that you otherwise would have.

  • I'm with you on this, the event for me just showed me everything I hate about this game and the way its community plays it. Wins felt hollow and losses felt aggravating, to the point where I would want to play, get on, play max 3 matches and just hate my time with the game and put it back down. I haven't even played in a couple days at this point. Guess I'll just put it down till the new killer is announced and if its actually good ill come back cause 1 more bad chapter and I think I'm putting this game down for at least a year hopefully forever.

Resident Evil developers were likely the one's who gave them the Nemisis design and on top of that they were also the one's who green lit the design so even if Behavior did it from scratch, Resident Evil approved

I mean I know that Capcom okayed the design but I'm also fairly sure that it was pitched to them so really only showed the good things and probably left out the bad. Plus its pretty clear at this point bhvr has no idea how their player base actually plays their game anymore.

  • Its the perk called blight pretty fun

  • Yeah cant imagine why these guys would dc

  • I mean I have way more iri moris then any other kind tbh idk how they played or anything though.

I do, but usually moris are a sign the Killer themselves are going to play extra scummy in the match.

And the Killer WAS extra scummy.

Thankfully, to the obsession, not me. She had Rancor and was trying her hardest to kill the obsession and camped every hook she could to make sure she got people to second stage.

I mean they could also just be doing a challenge but I get it I guess. Also yeah this event has massively destroyed my motivation to play

Scott jund (if its the twitch streamer i think it is) is not a good source. And just because he has a huge following does not mean what he says has merit.

I'm not saying what your suggesting is a horrible idea. In a perfect world it works well.

But as i mentioned before and it is one of the main debilitating counters to almost all the suggestion videos scott jund makes.

He throws suggestions around like "oh behaviour should just do this (insert time consuming game mechanic that behavior doesnt even have the expansion or ppl to do [yet] not considering as mentioned earlier, behaviour is just starting to get big.

He throws hefty ideas around towards a company whom have disclosed many times in interviews their humble beginings. Just recently there was the update with the ping/hit validation. The whole news thread emphasized how wonky their hit validation system (still is-because their answer was we'll just make it more survivor sided for the moment).

My opinion on scott jund, when he throws these ideas is, ok. Get in your car, go to behaviour, and show them how (the software& hardware programing/coding/etc) to make it happen

Because if behaviour (whom i assume want their game to cont. Growing or else they wouldnt be releasing more content) havent just magically resolved these ideas to the perfect world scenario. Then im assuming as they have disclosed their humbleness many times, that they dont have the resources to do that yet.

Im not shutting you down. Just thinking realistically. So many big changes as to just give survivors access to So many aspects that make dbd what it is; for starters we dont even know what that would do to the game engine.

Like there's reasons why all they have done for so long, is rework, rework, and rework.

Less using Scott as a source and more just liked one of his ideas, he has many and he's even thrown out ideas for nerfing swf as well.

I also don't like the excuse of BHVR even "just" getting big, yes they started as fairly small team but they haven't been that for awhile. They work with massive IPs regularly and have several hundred devs not too mention the rest of the company, a dev team of that size should not be floundering nearly as much as they do and frankly I'm tired of giving them the excuse of bad early code.

  • Well as killer it certainly dont feel consistent like sometimes ill get stunned when I'm a football fields distance away while other times ill be kissing the pallet when its dropped and nothing happens.

  • Peas and carrots nerf the corn

  • Nah I'm with you buddy, I recognize her immense strength but I have some issues with hearing so when I go into phase I feel like Helen Keller.
