If the hacker was streaming, you should be able to download their vod to use as evidence in a report or even just point BHVR at the stream channel.

    Only for nothing to happen

  • A good nurse is as broken as a good swf team, nearly uncounterable under most situations and in a league of their own

  • Something may still happen but bhvr puts out updates at a shockingly slow rate for how many devs they have. You'd think they have some kind of plan for when emergency issues like this happen and are in need of fixing but nope ######### you wait for the next patch in 2 months you loser, now go buy some cosmetics.

  • I main blight and love that he is strong but alchemist ring is so busted its not even fun at that point

Agreed that will only make the Devs want to nuke all Killers.....even though through various interviews that's what they want to do because they just don't care for Killers....just survivors.

I'm convinced it's more that they just have no idea what they are doing

  • @Impartiality said:

The nerf has 100% been exaggerated. He is still one of the better killers in the game and he is still better than bubba despite everyone thinking he isn’t. The difference is it takes way more practice for it to feel this way. When billy is mastered he is still top A tier

Hes still strong yeah, weaker then before by a decent but for sure though. The biggest problem though and why a lot of the Billy mains I use to talk to, including myself dropped him, is that he's just nowhere near as fun anymore. I don't care about the addon changes I never ran him with addons anyways but the overheat, new animations, and new sounds all served to make him significantly less fun to play and he felt felt way worse and clunkier too..

I agree, but Legion is punished for hitting Survivors. I think it's stupid.

Ghostface loses his stalk on Survivors if he melees them.

If a Survivor is wounded and Plague pukes on them; they get a free heal from cleansing.

What I'm trying to say is that allot of Killers are punished for using their powers. Even if it's crap.

Yeah and it's not fun for those killers either last I checked.

  • @Vampwire said:

Before you lynch me, hear me out.

I've been playing Billy for a while now, trying to get better with him, and the overheat mechanic rarely comes into play. I play with no add-ons as well, so I am talking solely about the base overheat.

All that it does is punish you for spamming your saw. Sometimes it can screw you over with curves, but unless you have double engravings you wont always be able to land certain curves anyways since you don't go fast enough. It also punishes using your saw too early and makes you have to actually position yourself before hand. If you watch a lot of the pro mlg billies before the nerf you'll see that they sit there a while. Just revving until they're in the right spot. Sometimes it would go on for a ridiculous amount of time and I think that's mostly what was trying to be prevented. You're on a real timer to land it instead of getting comfortable and doing it whenever its convenient.

Another aspect of it was his unlimited mobility before. You didn't really have to worry about committing to chases because you could always abandon them and go across half the map if you realized you screwed up. In a sort of ironic twist this is the same problem with have with Blight now, but that's not what this post is about. You could say that it isn't technically unlimited due to obstacles and limited pathing. But it also isn't hard to get close, even if you don't zoom all the way into the party.

ANOTHER Another aspect is that it puts pressure into landing your saws. A lot of Billies would put on the crack add-ons and just back rev you to death. Now if you miss its a bigger deal. If you play bad and miss your back revs there's a legitimate punishment. Instead of "oh well I'll just try again" as the survivors 360 in desperation.

It gives him a real punishment for screwing up. It can be argued that the bump time is the punishment, but that alone doesn't deter you from just saw spamming. It does definitely make him harder and more intimidating to learn. And I don't think that it was an entirely necessary change. But it also didn't kill him. A lot of the time when killers get nerfed people overreact and pull the alarm. And this is just another case of that. I understand why people are mad. Billy is one of the most enjoyable killers to play as and against for a lot of people. But he still has a lot of potential to snowball and keep pressure on survivors.

Now is the part where I get called a noob survivor main lol

I mean your experience is your own and I don't know how much you played him before his nerf but I put probably around 500 hours into Billy alone before he was nerfed and I basically only played him for a long time, without addons for 90% of my games too and honestly if you wanna know what was nerfed the hardest, it was his fun factor. Billy was by far the most fun killer in the game to me and he didn't feel unfair with just his base kit and most of his addons, but everything they changed chipped away at what made him fun. His addons are mostly useless outside of maybe 4 and only 2 that are actually good, his animation changes made him feel way clunkier, his roar was funny at first but only got more and more annoying with every sprint, his new chainsaw noise gave my tinnitus a field day, and worst of all the overheat mechanic made what was before my favorite aspect of his power ,which was that his freedom and mobility, and put a limit on both.

He's still decently strong and if you enjoy him more power to you but unless they revert almost all his changes except his addons I'll never come back to him or this game.

  • Honestly don't know I only watched the movie once when I was a teenager cause my sister likes horror movies so I never felt very passionate about it.

  • Shadowborn cause that way I can not feel like I'm getting nauseous after a couple hours of play

  • @RakimSockem said:

Like you said, survivors killing themselves usually hurts the rest of the survivor team more than it hurts the killer (unless they're going for the adept double pip)

If you really want to end a game quickly as killer, go stand in a corner and face a wall. The survivors will spend a little time looking for you but once they realize they can't interact with you, they'll just do gens and leave.

Hackers who hold the game hostage for hours would like to have a chat with you

  • Well tbh her power will likely be a strange parody of her movie version where it'll be mostly referential and have very little to actually do with the movie

  • I do wish killer had some kind of "I don't wanna play this game" option without eating a DC penalty. I'd be fine if it wasn't available till 5 minutes or something and obviously it should give all the survivors their escape bonus and hell maybe even throw in a "killer gave up" bonus I don't really care but I don't wanna play Lery's or RCPD on blight or billy or any other killer except a few stealth killers that I don't play.

As a console player, its very frustrating wanting the devs to make the game better for us. 30 fps lock is rough. Various glitches and bugs. Etc. nobody whos critical or has the devs attention cover dbd console problems so here is hoping Scott sees this and sends us love.

He has multiple times, especially during the RE chapter when it was at its worse. He doesn't tend to recover topics unless something major has happened

  • here come the people telling you that you are just bad and that MMR works great for them or some #########.

  • @Shroompy said:

People would just use Sprint Burst and the stats wouldn't change much if at all

As if the majority of dbd players have the patience to use SB properly if they did it'd be far more popular then dead hard.

  • Trickster is barely mid tier so id say he needs a full on rework not a nerf, not that it'll happen and bhvr will probably just buff or nerf some arbitrary stat that won't solve any of his problems

No, that's what made slinger slinger and what made him fun to play.

You can still keep the wind down time and he'd be borderline perfect in terms of fairness in chase.

Yeah but it also made him very unfun to go against especially combined with his smaller terror radius. I agree he got way over nerfed but to sit there and say that having a killer be super unfun to go against is fine then we'll just have to agree to disagree. The ads nerf was needed but he also needs map pressure some kind of movement or maybe massively increase his chain distance and past a certain point he can down without reeling them all the way back. Just something cause he sucks right now.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think the killer players who aren't quite as experienced on survivor are going to find that playing against four optimal Sprint Burst users is 10x as frustrating as Dead Hard. There's at least a chance for a misplay with DH. Early SB means you likely never have a chance in the first place.

I mean yeah but people that know how to use print burst aren't that common and if they're good at it they likely use it over dead hard already anyways. My bigger concern would be the influx of overcome usages not a broken perk just seems really boring to go against. At least Overcome has counters though unlike SB and DH when used properly.

  • In fairness I haven't been excited for a killer since twins and was hugely disappointed so ever since I really don't care or expect anything good from the chapter releases. If I'm wrong and their good awesome expectations subverted hasn't happened yet though. I haven't liked a chapter since descend beyond unless you count when wraith was buffed. Also I've hated every map that's been released since I started playing 3 years ago so new maps just concern me.

The problem being; Someone could DC to prevent being picked up or hooked, then reconnect a minute later so their friend could save them.

Or, if the Killer can hook DC'd players, then someone who had a legit crash could return to struggling on their second hook, or even be dead, because their husk was farmed.

Reconnecting just does not work in DBD. It's not a drop-in/drop-out kind of game.

I mean husk would work fine just have it go to the nearest locker and don't trigger an afk timer on them and give the rest of the players in the game some kind of notification they got disconnected. If they crashed during a chase then tough, at least gives the killer hook points and survivors the possibility of unhook points and the person who dced a chance to come back and play out the match so they won't get the dc ban and lose their points from the game.

I fail to see how it'd be a bad thing in any way honestly. It wouldn't be an ideal situation sure but it's still a massive improvement over the current system.

It's definitely not, at least in my experience.

Under ranks, when I started, maybe 2/3 of my games were either against purple/iri survivors with hundreds if not thousands of more hours than myself, or the same level of survivor smurfing. Smurfing was so common and easy under ranks that even fog whisperers openly admitted to doing it for easier games.

Rank matchmaking was why those awesome (but let's face it, ridiculous) 100 win no addon streak videos were possible. Now, even Otz is struggling to get 20 win streaks. That's positive. Those crazy streaks came at the expense of less experienced players being thrown to the wolves.

Now, maybe 3-4 games in 5 are pretty even. Occasionally I'll get a 'wat' game where I'm paired up with very new or far too experienced players, but it's so much better.

I think the problem on your side has to do with queue times and lobby dodges. I'd personally be happy with longer queue times if it meant more even games, but the devs are reluctant to make these too long.

I'm fine with SBMM going off kills for killer. I do think it needs to be more nuanced for survivors, but it's very complicated to get that right.

I'm not gonna argue my or your experiences, but kills being the benchmark is very unhealthy and rewards tunneling and camping playstyles. Even a small difference of making it hooks instead of kills would be better then kills. Also I got harder games with mmr but not fair ones at least not often it was always very one sided id either get absolutely stomped with max 2 hooks or 4k before 3 gens are done.

  • frankly, people are just bored with playing the normal loop of the game after so many years of the same game mode same with killers though they are just quitting the game or switching to survivor in droves since MMR and CoH came out

  • Feel like the biggest problem is that your extra chains almost never all land and/or get broken on the environment way too quickly. He just doesn't feel too rewarding for actually using his power. If all his chains landed consistently and couldn't be broken by the environment so quickly it'd actually be worth using

  • would have to come with a few changes though, like not activating if the killer is within say 16 meters maybe, would need some playtesting to find a sweet spot. Also, basement hooks should become scourge hooks base kit for all the scourge perks.

  • Unless they sandbagged me earlier in the match or a few other caveats.

  • It's alright, probably the only killer it's at least semi-useful

  • Pig cause its kinda cute to me

I figured using the quit button was a given, so I did not mention it.

For literally every other way you can leave a match (accidental or not); the game has no way of knowing what it was: Power goes out. Router resets. PC crashes. Alt-F4. Right-click & 'close program'. Ctrl-alt-delete. Cat steps on your surge protector. Etc. etc.

None of those are any different from each other at the code/connection level; they are all just 'You are gone'. In fact; a player can make any of them happen manually. Which means people asking for 'a way to tell disconnects from ragequits' are asking for BHVR to code a game that can read human intent.

Yeah I know all that I thought when you said "I manually closed the game in a fit of rage" I thought you meant using the quit game button but again all those problems would be solved by a reconnect feature. If they don't reconnect by the time the game is over then they get the penalty, ez

It's just difficult as I play on both sides so I know what it's like to be tunneled and camped and this or that and it really sucks. To me, it feels almost as bad as a bm. So I try not to do those things. Out of genuine good manners. But what I'm getting from this thread is that I need to show my dominance first, then show them mercy, and that will get the point across.

The only thing that still got under my skin were problems with the game itself like map design and bugs but MMR was the last nail in the coffin and I'm on break from the game till bhvr learns how to code and make fun killers again.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2712967#Comment_2712967

Most of those problems are still in the game to some degree, but they are not NEARLY as bad as they once were, and CoH isn't busted, it just brought back the healing meta. Realize that if you nerf healing in general, CoH takes a hit no matter what. I think it should remain as is so it stays a strong perk, but nerf healing.

Dead Hard does need a change, its unhealthy. Remove the DH for distance by adding an effect similar to Doctor's Shock, where Survivors cannot perform any actions for a brief moment. This way the perk can be used with its intended design

Wdym the killer meta is weaker? Back then you had like 6 perks to chose from. Nowadays you have so much more. Some of the perks that were meta back in the day that aren't anymore simply fell off because better options were created, Nurses Calling, Whispers, Enduring, Brutal Strength, just to name a few.

Also MMR seems to be working fine, even with a system that seems so simple it some how works. I mean you have people complaining that they're facing Survivors that are "too hard", al though the last system was a lot more unique and I feel they just needed to make it harder to pip as you got up in the ranks.

And I wouldn't say most of the killer designs have been awful, if we look at the last 3 for example they are all pretty strong and bring something unique to the table. Nemesis bringing AI, Pinhead bringing a unique slowdown mechanic and Artist having an information power that doubles as anti loop. Also you can't tell me the game is as buggy now as it was even just a year ago. Again they've been doing pretty damn well these past few patches in terms of bugs.

Also about "If the vast majority of the community doesn't like where the game is going then it might jot just be that the community has gotten worse it might actually mean the game has too.", I'll just say this. People we're literally complaining about snowmen, we have people receive free bloodpoints, and they complain that it isn't enough. This years Halloween event, probably one of the top 5 events this game has seen yet people still complained. And I can GUARANTEE you, if they just copy pasted the Hallowed Blight for next years Halloween event, literally the best event this game has ever seen and I'm sure a lot of people can back me up on this, people would find some thing to complain about.

Even here, on the forums where its a ######### fest, it wasn't nearly as bad when it first came out back in 2018. People have just gotten so much more demanding.

Had a whole thing typed out but hit back on my phone and it got deleted so I'm just gonna say you're wrong, you're stinky, and you should look at other people's experiences without just relying on your own.

  • Really only CoH is broken tbh, the others effects are strong enough for them to be as popular and annoying.

  • @Rogue11 said:

Blight hopefully. He's been broken for over a year now. I don't think we can say how strong Artist is yet. It's only been a few weeks.

If they just fix his exploits and some of his addons he'd be perfect, also hopefully fix some of his stupid hitboxes.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

There's just so many bad killers in the game, and some who used to be better but I will no longer play because they've been nerfed.

Right now I play Hag, Pig, Clown, Plague, Demogorgon, and Blight. Hag, Plague, Demogorgon, and Blight feel powerful and I can win with them. Pig and Clown are very weak, but I like how they play.

That leaves 20 killers that I basically never play outside of dailies. Some I despise playing so much that I'll roll their daily for another. They're either not my style or they're too weak.

Nurse is too hard to control.

Spirit I'll only play with her best add-ons, since she was nerfed and because she's not my style.

Pyramid Head's ranged attack is too inconsistent and dependent on range add-ons.

Artist is too weak and will probably be nerfed.

Leatherface is boring and I bump into everything somehow.

Huntress is too hard to aim and survivors have to walk into your shots.

Oni's power is too hard to control and gets dead zoned.

Myers is boring and reliant on stalking add-ons and Tombstone Piece/Infinite Tier 3.

Nemesis takes 3 hits to down people and has zombies that don't do anything.

Twins are a walking self-counter, and were nerfed.

Trickster is too hard to aim and suffers from sunk cost all the time.

Trapper takes too long to set up for too little benefit, and then everyone disarms his traps.

Hillbilly is too hard to aim, has stupid overheat, and was nerfed into the ground.

Pinhead's power doesn't do anything, assuming you even hit it, and chain hunts never happen because the survivors see the box aura from cross-map. Also, I ran out of Engineer's Fangs and he needs it.

Doctor is way too add-on dependent and his anti-loop doesn't work half the time.

Wraith is basic and was still nerfed into the ground.

Deathslinger was decent but was nerfed into the ground.

Freddy used to be decent but was nerfed into the ground.

    Legion's power is to injure.

Ghost Face gets kicked out of his power and is extra countered by stretched res.

Pig I don't know why I even play because the gens are done before you even use up all 4 head traps. Her dash attack appeals to me I guess, which is also add-on dependent.

Clown is good only with Pinky Finger. When that gets nerfed, me and him are done.

So you see, most of my reasons for not playing these killers has less to do with me not liking their playstyle, and more to do with them not being strong enough to win. They can beat noobs and inefficient teams, but never the top. They're just not at that level, because they have way too many things that need to be buffed and worked out in their kits. And the scary thing is, with the exception of Pig and Demogorgon, I can see the few killers I still play getting nerfed.

I'd say billy wasn't nerfed into the ground he's still a fairly powerful killer but he certainly was nerfed especially his ability to move around the map and his snowball but the bigger problem was they took a lot of the fun out of his base kit and made him more annoying to play.

I use to only play billy without addons and maybe a brown cooldown addon if I knew I was going against good team but I only played him once every couple months after they killed my boy.

The new exhaustion is Overcome. I'm sorry if I didn't understand what you were writting, but are you saying Sprint Burst is as much OP as DH?

I started to use (and enjoy) SB because I though it was a good perk but not as unfair as DH...

I'd say that they use to be about equal with the slight edge going to sprint burst if the person knew what they were doing and how to 99 it correctly and at the right time. With hit validation though DH beats it fairly soundly imo.

Edit: oh also Overcome is just sprint burst on training wheels but gets hard countered by one shot abilities and requires you to be full health to use it, but CoH more then makes up for that downside

  • This is some bottom tier bait

  • As much as the game needs another game mode it will likely never happen as bhvr as expressed zero desire in ever adding one. Plus they can't even get their current one and only gamemode that they've had for over 5 years to be bug free and balanced so imagine if they tried 2 different modes my lord their brains would explode.

  • Totem finding perks are fine but totem spawns are busted af

  • @Zolfo16 said:

Basically a survivor can be unhooked a maximum of 2 times.

Why not making the hook removal permanent?

It is a whole perk slot, i think it CAN deserve the complete removal of the hooks to be viable without being broken.

Breakdown actually did that for awhile because of a bug and it was the worst. If a whole team ran breakdown and got downed around the same area of the map then you just wouldn't be able to hook survivors on thst side of the map, it was awful and I saw it almost every other game and absolutely would have seen it more if it was an official change and not just a bug many people didn't rven know about.

  • @Clevite said:

That's why balancing around two kills only hurts killers.

I think killers should just stop tunneling and camping for a few months. Take the Ls and let the data begin to reflect this and maybe devs would balance for a more fun experience for both sides.

But as of now, it's a catch 22, killers feel pressured to get kills, camp and tunnel to assure at least a 2k, data shows a balanced game.

    To the devs anyway.

Idk if I'd say it unfairly affects killers but it's certainly unhealthy for the game

  • @AngyKiller said:

It is literally impossible for the servers to know the difference between 'I lagged out', 'I crashed' or 'I manually closed the game in a fit of rage'.

All 3 are 'The player's connection stopped responding' to the game, and it's not possible to do otherwise.

Also, if you got 6 hours: You either have allot of 'lag outs' & you're ruining the matches of 4 other people each time. Or you were rage-quitting allot before it happened. So it's not '6 hours for no reason' because the starting punishment is 5 minutes.

Not actually true for at least one of those they could definitely tell if you left using the quit game button. Also most if not all the valid criticism DC penalties get would be answered if they added a reconnect feature, as long as it isn't abusable that is.

  • Bruh bhvr can't even balance the game as it is currently they would never be able to manage this kind of system.

  • I stopped playing entirely after a month of MMR, not saying it was the only reason but it definitely played a part on me leaving the game and I'm jot coming back till many changes are made or different system is put in place.

  • Generally I'd say bamboozle since it also gives you a bump in your vault speed otherwise I'd say it's pretty even with hex CC being stronger but less reliable.

I might mention some that I've been playing but not really suggesting them because I obviously don't know what types of games you like. But seriously, people just complain and yet this is like the only game some people play. Why? Is is the only game you own or something? Or do you own a bunch but just always load up DBD? I've never been necessarily addicted to DBD like some. Sure I still have played it a lot but I always have a game to play instead if I want. For example recently I just play Injustice 2 a lot. Trying to get my Ninja Turtles Raphael Legendary Gear piece. Why don't you guys just look around and try some other games? Games that you don't complain about all the time and have a miserable time in. A break from DBD really does a lot. I've taken plenty. Some just keep going and going even though they aren't having a good time.

My guy this is literally where people go to air their grievances of the game and discuss them. If you don't like seeing that maybe get off the forums. You're basically going to a soccer game and wondering why people are talking about soccer and telling them to talk about football instead. Don't like it go away or ignore those posts
