Nah I'd say it's just straight up OP honestly. If they took the I frames out I'd think it'd be a lot more in line with the rest of the exhaustion perks, except maybe spirit burst and the new hold W perk that I can't remember the name of, but oh well bhvr seems happy with where they are so unless the perks get randomly picked on their wheel of ######### to change they'll probably never do anything about them.

Seriously? I just had a match where two of the survivors were afk straight from the beginning so I took it way easy on the other two survivors. I even took time to eat my granola bar! Well, I guess they took this as they were gods or somethings because of course both waited for me at the exit gate to bm me until I chased them off. It was real classy. So of course that just makes me want to be extra sweaty for the next guys but I don't want to be like that...how do you guys do it? How can you be nice?
Not really just play how you want honestly, if you want to play as "fair" as possible you're still gonna get hate, if you wanna camp and tunnel go for it you'll get a little more hate but frankly if you've played as much as I you stop caring. That said I played pretty fair and basically never ran addons, still got a lot of hate but I find it amusing which is why I left my steam profile public to comments

Don't listen to them we need more slinger mains so that we may get him unnerfed one day
I'll give you a little bit of advice monitor and abuse
And save the best for last
Are his two best perks which you should almost never take off 🤠
Good luck out there cowboy's hopefully he gets buffed just not reverted, honestly hope he gets some kind of map control added to his kit but I kind of doubt it.

Killers and veteran players in general seem to hate the game more and more so the usual I guess

Just because some people say it's OP doesn't make it true. It's a balanced perk.
Its not though and killers have hated it for a long ass time. Perks and killers that actively ruin the other sides enjoyment are horribly designed and dead hard is literally just giving you and extra health state in chases.

Yes, but understand that players with 1000 hours are an extreme minority.
For newbies, or us intermediate players, SBMM works better.
There is a reason those '100 no addon win streak' videos could occur under ranks, but not SBMM.
My guy when I was still playing I was still randomly getting placed with people sub triple digit hours one game and people with 6k hours the next. It's just more random now or atleast that was my experience with it. I'll admit I haven't played in over 3 months now so it might have improved somewhat for newbies but from the more veteran players that I talk to and watch it seems to have not improved at all. So I'm real glad that they wasted 2 years of dev time on it for to mostly be a more negative experience.
Also even for intermediate players the system seems to be awful for some and mildly better for others at least with the old system we could see what ranks we were supposed to be with, now we don't know ######### and have to assume where we are placed which just throws a massive wrench into the discussion about it, and the only way to actually see it would require you to do something that would get you banned. I also love how SBMM doesn't even measure skill it mostly only measures kills and escapes which they themselves said would be a bad system then they made extremely minor tweaks to that and shipped it.

"People have given tons of legit criticisms on why the game is not in the best state" Ok, lets look at some of the most popular complaints shall we?
Matchmaking? Always has been terrible, but we literally have people acting like they're a victim just because they're going against people their own skill level
CoH? Self Care used to be better and much better when it comes to time efficiency, not to mention healing speeds in general were faster (took 12 seconds instead of 16)
Maps being terrible? Used to be even worst as the majority of maps used to be larger, had much stronger loops and an even bigger number of pallets. Not to mention the only killers that had mobility back then were Nurse and Billy, Hag had such a short teleport range and set up time that it just wasn't worth it, and Wraiths Windstorm add ons just gave him a speed boost after uncloaking at the cost of his movement speed when uncloaking.
Stale Meta? Used to be even worst! DS/BT/Exhaustion/Self Care. "Hey that sounds like todays meta!" Well you'd be right! Except everything used to be much stronger, DS not needing a hook and no timer, BT working on both the person unhooked and the savior while also providing Endurance for a much longer time and a much longer bleed out timer, Exhaustion being able to be recovered while running making you have to possibly deal with more than 1 Sprint Bursts or Dead Hard on that 1 pesky survivor you refuse to let go.
Same goes for killers, since back then you only really had Ruin, NOED, Enduring, Brutal, Whispers and Nurses. BBQ only got added towards the end of the true dark times.
The only reason why this game survived is because of how unique it is, if it stayed the way it was before then it would of died 100%. Not only was it an ACTUAL unbalanced mess but it was buggy as all hell. Not to mention p2p which had people abusing lagswitches and it wasn't all that uncommon.
All the complaints that I and many others had from back then are gone, the game has grown, the community turned into a bunch of babies
Most of those problems are still in the game though and CoH is almost just as if not more busted then old self care since you can stack it with a medkit and it gives the buff to your whole team, get heals down to as little as 4-6 seconds easily. Sure some of the meta perks are weaker now then they used to be most of the killers meta is weaker now too except for arguably ruin but that can still go down in 30 seconds even with undying and it happens fairly often. Plus both sides have lost a lot of their nuclear options in many red addons for tools and killer have been heavily nerfed as well as keys and moris. Hit validation has removed the 9ne thing that kept dead hard from being completely op, namely its inconsistency. Realm reborn has made many maps its touched just as bad as the old maps and returned many of the god loops the game used to have but now with a breakable wall(woohoo). Plus RCPD is a massive indoor map that sucks for both sides. They've had years to fix matchmaking and what they released is at best a sidegrade with MMR being just as ineffective at determining skill as the old system and honestly feels worse, with the month and or so that I played it, my only takeaway was that it was even more erratic then the previous system but at least it doesn't unfairly punish or reward certain kits like the old system did for killers like wraith and billy. If the vast majority of the community doesn't like where the game is going then it might jot just be that the community has gotten worse it might actually mean the game has too.
If dbd had any proper competition it probably would've died years ago but now that it has so many big licenses and is so established its becoming increasingly difficult for a game to become successful in this rather niche genre. Also recent killer designs have been awful, the game is still just as buggy as it used to be too (although that waxes and wanes with the chapters). All this is compounded by the fact that BHVR seems more disconnected then ever and changes seem to be decided with a dart board.

Then stop designing characters that way? There's a serious issue with designing characters with the intent to be like this and then nerfing them to uselessness for being exactly how the devs designed them to be. "Let's just nerf/delete the character!" isn't a good solution.
Completely agree but the community arguing against themselves pisses me off since the real problem is that bhvr doesn't seem to know how to design good killers that can be fun to play as and against anymore. I haven't enjoyed a killer since blight and I love going against him, if you take out all the exploits he has that allow him to actually ######### flip around a 90-degree corner(that shits unhealthy for the game).
This is a big reason why I haven't played since September, also being fed up with BHVR's general direction they are taking the game in and not doing anything substantial about problems that have been in the game for years like horrible map design, which has only gotten worse with realm reborn and RCPD. Plus CoH seems like hell to go against so I'm not planning on going back anytime soon or maybe at all since I'm still pretty annoyed about the whole NFT thing.

DH is absolutely fine. It's just that people get frustrated (doesn't mean something should get nerfed) and then come to the forums to complain. I don't like seeing gen defense perks every game. Does that mean they should be nerfed? Nope.
Bruh people have been saying the perk was OP for years with good reason and that was before hit validation when it could only reliably be used for distance. There is a reason it's seen in pretty much every single game and its not because its just a fairly strong perk
-
I get all the people saying that she doesn't really deserve a nerf since she's nowhere near nurse level but at the same time I think we can all agree that this a problem because she's just not a well designed killer to begin with
-
play huntress or the artist, or any other killer really
-
Like every other problem that's been plaguing the game for years they still have no idea what to do about it. any previous solution they've hinted at they probably tried but weren't able to get it work because DbD is such a well designed game and bhvr is such a competent game developer

Oh look, someone who's complaining about how losing feels bad and doesn't connect the dots.
So long as you intend to play with the goal of a 4K, expect to be matched with Survivors that intend to escape.
If you have any problems with certain balance aspects, do bring it up, but MMR isn't the problem here, hypocrisy is.
I really hope you're an advocate for Hatch returning to its former glory in some manner or another. (as well as a post-death state for Survivors)
Killers "Hey we arent having fun"
dumbos "its probably just because you're bad"
killers *plays sweaty or camps and tunnels to win cause its easier and most bad survivors don't know how to counter it*
dumbos "killers these days are so toxic"
its been fun to spectate this bullshittery

The game was still plagued with a stale meta back then, Id argue it was even worst since there was even less to chose from.
Killer designs used to be more unique but clearly thats not any ones concern anymore. Since if a killer comes out and they dont show potential to be the next Spirit or Blight, the community throws a tantrum
I would argue right now the game is in the best state its ever been, there is the least amount of imbalanced stuff the game has seen for both sides, and MMR really isnt as bad as people make it out to be.
Now there is something that has gotten A LOT worst over the years, and thats the community. Becoming more whiny and demanding as time goes on
People have given tons of legit criticisms on why the game is not in the best state it's been but honestly, the only thing I have to say is CoH to disprove that. That perk alone is one the most busted perks the game has ever seen and it's not like bugs have gotten any better either. Killers don't need to be super strong to at least be unique and fun to play as and against which we haven't had in well over a year now. But nah it's the community that's gotten worse not the game sure.

No. MMR has it's quirks and needs work, but it's so much better than the nightmare that anyone who wasn't pretty high MMR experienced under ranks.
This is a baby that doesn't need to be thrown out with the bathwater.

It's had a constant decline since the massive influx caused by the Bloodhunt event. That's expected.
If this decline continues substantially then yes, there is cause to worry.
Keep in mind that this is only Steam, and I wonder how many people decided to try a fresh start/smurf via Epic.
This is a baby that doesn't need to be thrown out with the bathwater.
what are you talking about I have over 1k hours mostly under the last system and I gave MMR a pretty fair shot and it was garbage. Not to mention I wasn't even only talking about MMR which I consider being a sidegrade at best but usually a mild downgrade but many other things as well.

Almo probably went against a wraith, died too fast, and nerfed him
probably
-
honestly I stopped playing right before that patch launched so I didn't even know that they nerfed him but why did they nerf his lunge? his base kit was great probably one of the most balanced in the game, he had some stupid addons that needed toning down but that was it. Welp like always bhvr sees a problem and goes in a completely stupid way of trying and failing to fix said problem
-
sure I don't think anyone would disagree with that. But it will likely not happen or at least not by itself since bhvr has a bad tendency of not fixing issues individually and try to go after large problems and hope it filters down to the little problems I'm going to coin it as trickle-down game design, and it's as horribly ineffective as its economic variant.
-
honestly, if the server detects ping at that level for more than a few seconds they should be kicked from the game, shits stupid
-
but it depends on the team a nurse is facing and the skill of the killer, if they are both at the top end then nurse is probably balanced in any other situation though she is imbalanced to a hilarious degree
-
it feels like a sidegrade or a mild downgrade. It has most of the same issues as the one, mainly that it's still largely ineffectual at determining skill and from my experience makes for a less enjoyable experience with the one caveat of being less killer dependant, aka not punishing or rewarding certain killers unfairly like the old system use to do.
-
money or incompetence
-
I genuinely think that the devs don't have any kind of bias one way or the other and just have no idea as to what the ######### they are doing. Plus having a bias would require they actually play their game and we all know they don't or at least not well.
-
Probably nothing that will be successful long term
-
@Aurelle said:
What killers need changed to make them better or just need QoL changes in general?
I think the main killers that need some changes are Trickster and Twins. Both of these killers are miserable to play as and aren't that strong.
Probably a majority of the roster are either to strong or too weak and could use some tweaking to their base kit or add ons there are like maybe 4 killers in the game that i'd argue are perfectly fine in their current state everyone else either needs minor changes to kit or addons or massive overhauls to both.
-

And let's forget the fact that they took years to nerf Spirit and Nurse still shouldn't exist in the current game at all.
Spirit I think can be made to be fun in the confines of DBD with more tuning and her most recent patch was a step in the right direction but didn't go far enough and also her addon pass just made most of her add-ons meh too useless then also gave her an addon combo that makes her arguably more broken then she ever could be before, so pretty good job so far.
Nurse on the other hand I kind of agree with you. I honestly don't see how they can nerf her to bring her more in line while still making her fun to play as and against because currently playing nurse is playing a completely different game than pretty much every other killer. It feels like nurse is purely in the game so that bhvr can say "no the games not survivor-sided at high levels look nurse can do it" meanwhile almost every other killer save for like maybe 4 or 5 get absolutely stomped in any kind of competitive play.

Good, then BHVR will either do something about it if there's a significant enough playerbase drop or people will find new (or old, I've been playing Skyrim again personally) games to play & enjoy.
Unless you're getting paid to play this game, you have no excuse to keep torturing yourself over it. Especially when you're like OP and you make it sound like the experiences' you've had spell the end of the world.
I don't haven't played or had it installed in months but I follow it to see if they ever right the ship or until a proper competitor in the genre comes about. BHVR hasn't had proper competition in the asymmetrical genre and it shows. Also cmon we all use hyperbole don't be an ass about it

More fun? What was so fun about having to deal with bigger loops, bigger maps, bigger amount of pallets and the list goes on? People complain about Gideon and the new map for having a lot of pallets yet they only have a fraction of what every map used to have
Do you have any idea how many people would quit this game if it reverted back to what it once was? Hell people are complaining about Dead Hard now, imagine how theyd react if they saw 2 Dead Hards from the same person in the same chase
Oh I remember and I'm not defending those things but people use to play differently back then. People ######### around a lot back then and no one took ######### seriously because everything was so stupidly imbalanced also killer design was at least more interesting where most killers came out and had something different to offer now every killer releases with what feels like just a reskinned version of someone else's power. Plus people had at least some variety in builds but now it's mostly the same 15 or so perks from both sides in 90% of the matches, that I don't blame the players though that's more on bhvr. Same with map design, I'd almost prefer old Haddonfield over RCPD.
I won't sit here and tell you that me having over 1k hours now compared to only having a couple dozen to a hundred hours isn't playing a massive role in why I hate the game these days but the game is by no means in its best state its ever been and it hasn't been for probably over a year since I'd argue descend beyond was the best chapter or at least when the game was in its best state.

What are your thoughts? ( ps I'm just making a discussion not suggesting a change)
Yeah, it would definitely be op still, you can still be healed and do anything chase-related so if you have DS without a timer you can just constantly harass the killer till they waste their time to down and pick you up only to eat the ds. DS is perfectly fine the way it is currently.

No way in hell is Haddonfield anywhere near the best map for survivors. Everybody complains about it but there isn't anything on it that's very good at all. There are a few good things about it like a couple good pallets but almost every map has those.
Heights are generally bad for survivors because of the fall stun and it's a very vertical map. Maybe back in the day it was better when balanced landing was OP but without that it's really not good. Badham is better in basically every way. It's bigger, has more safe pallets, has better buildings, and an amazing main building.
- Many peoples opinion of it is from several years ago when it had more infinities, back when balanced still negated the fall stun while exhausted, and before it got its update which removed a few loops(or at least lowered their chances of spawning)
- it's still a very large map and most people who use a Haddonfield offering bring balanced to abuse it that way, not to mention large blocking structures are horrible for killer since they can be looped as well as counter many killer powers.
sure it does have some bad spots for survivors against certain killers but its not many but i'd also say that far worse maps have been added to the game since Haddonfield like rcpd(which I wouldn't say is survivor sided completely but just generally awful).

That add-on is clearly busted. It turns a weak killer into a "too" strong one (you need to be boosted, like me, to fail at downing survivors with it). But on another hand... it is so much fun to use. I played that add-on with a stupid build (devourer/ haunted/ undying): i think that it is how it feels to use boons (you thought you get rid of my power? I guess not HA HA HA). Before, i was thinking that this add-on shouldn't be a thing. But i don't know anymore. Even if i think it does deserve a nerf if we are honest.
What's your thoughts?

I don't think that Clown will play Killer after that experience.

How do you even know your MMR is mid/high?
Most people have mid/high mmr since the way they handle it is that you have you're actual mmr and then they have a matchmaking cap so that people who play and win the vast majority of their matches don't have 4 hour long queue times but the matchmaking cap is so low that most killers will hit the cap since its so much easier to get mmr with killers. most survivors will get to it too but I know they increase the cap behind the scenes as well without any kind of announcement and I doubt it coincides with rank reset or maybe it does idk

Hillbilly is still good. The main thing which sucks about him is the FoV and the Animations. Because he feels very janky because of it. Also his Add Ons are more on the bad side, which is not even the worst, since he does not really need Add Ons to begin with. But doing Bloodwebs on him feels like a waste (almost as much as doing Survivor Bloodwebs, lel).
Overheat is barely noticeable. You have to fail A LOT to actually Overheat and at this point, it is deserved.
Overheat sucks no one likes it, if it's barely noticeable to those that support it and absolutely hated to those that hate then what the ######### is even the point of it existing? Billy is still good sure but he's nowhere near where he used to be and if add ons are included I legit think bubba is better since bubba has cracked addons and billy has some of the worst addons in the game. Bro, it was literally unintentional though not to mention he still has jank hitboxes which have been a bug with blight since he shipped. Or we can talk about how Myers stalking was busted for over a year, then there's just the general bug of sound occlusion being bugged out for months at a time in various points of the game's lifespan or how people on the ground still sometimes don't make sound another bug that's been in the game for years or the legion vault bug that's been in the game for over a year, Billy's animation coming out of a sprint is I believe still borked as well or if this is the intended version then whoever animated it needs to go back to school to relearn animation which has been a problem since his rework I think. She is like PH and a bit like Nurse, a ranged attack that goes though walls but can be countered by ShiftW or having unpredictable movements while out of line of sight. I personally enjoy going against Killers like Artist because she isn't pure 1v1, she has a 1v4 aswell and that's more enjoyable imo. It isn't the usual boring hold M1 on gens
