  • Yeah I can't wait for bhvr to say nothing about it and just keep on keeping on like everything's great while the walls are crumbling around them

  • I have to imagine that at least someone at bhvr has a brain and talk to a legal team about this and probably contacted steam as well, cause there is no way those NFT's revenue would be worth getting banned from the platform but giving bhvr the benefit of the doubt is probably too much so who knows honestly.

  • Lmao like I'd go through the effort of buying all my dlcs and farming up all my killers again. If it gets taken off steam then that's the end of DBD for me. I've already had it uninstalled for the past couple of months anyways but with the intention of coming back if a killer that seems really cool comes out or they make a lot of good changes. That might not be the case anymore even if steam doesn't do anything about it I might never come back anyways

  • Though I doubt they will give out refunds it'd be the right thing to do after deceiving and betraying the community like this

  • Of all the things to unite the differing sides of DBD's community ill be honest in saying I wasn't expecting NFT's to be the thing to do it. I'm here for it and am eager to see how bhvr will deal with this ######### show. Also ######### NFT's

  • @The_Krapper said:

The fact that no mod or dev has responded to any of the backlash speaks volumes about this whole situation

I feel bad for the community managers that had no part in the decision to sign off on NFTs and now they're gonna have to be the ones to deal with the rightfully pissed off community

From a physics perspective, yes, it does. From a game-developer perspective, it also does (everything have hitboxes/collision boxes). From a player perspective, it also does (the only exception being Pinhead, as he summons chains from hell and the chains could lift the survivor to the hook by "themselves", but that's beside the point).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2562661#Comment_2562661

Exactly. If the killer finds the hatch first, after hooking the third survivor (and that third survivor is on his last hook), and gets on top of it, he should have the priority. Now, if the killer does find it after the last survivor's on top of it, then the survivor should have the priority. I'm talking "hitboxes/collision boxes wise", not "well, I've killed 3 survivors and I don't think it's fair that the 4th survivor escapes". It's not about what you think it's fair. It's about logic. I don't remember who told me that this came to be right after people started complaining about killers being able to grab the escaping survivor while he was doing that jumping animation. I believe Behavior can do better. Physics-wise, it does not make any sense that the killer gets to close the way outside the hatch's 3d model.

You talk like the killer is the weakest link of this "chain". I'm curious... what makes you think that killers are so weak that we should automatically feel sorry for those players that love playing as killers? And please, don't come with the "swf always wins" argument. I do play as killer too and I have smashed some swf as well as a lot of main killers out there. Heck, I used to play with some people, and even though we had communication and decent player skill, we'd still lose some matches. So, in the end, I'm still trying to understand how this "poor-killer-trend" started and most importantly, WHY. If you are complaining about this, if you think that this game in completely survivor-sided and unfair to the killer, I recommend you watch Otzdarva channel, Dowsey channel, Hells channel, Souzasoul channel, Felps channel, etc. I'd also recommend you get in touch with the recent news of another assymetrical horror game that's been under development and we're all aware of (cause I don't know if we can talk about other games directly in here) in which you can kill the killer. Imagine how unfair that would be for the killer. He'd be forced to play against 4 ARMED survivors. Everytime the killer gets killed, he enters a xx seconds respawn time. How fun is that? Imo, that game is doomed from the start. You gotta be really into stress and suffering if you'd enjoy playing killer in this game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2563112#Comment_2563112

Undeserved escapes? Seriously... go play survivor. And not with rank 1 moonwalking friends. Be ballsy and get in the queue alone. You'll understand what I'm talking about. By the way... stop thinking/believing that you deserve to kill 4 people all the time, in every match. Survivors aren't rats and you aren't a 5 feet Python. We're not here to make your day, to inflate your ego or to serve as punching bags for you everytime something does not goes the way you want it to in your real life (or even virtual one). Sometimes, I'm the only one doing gens, rescuing other survivors, healing them, and I need to read things like "free underserved escapes". C'mon, be real.

You talk like the killer is the weakest link of this "chain". I'm curious... what makes you think that killers are so weak that we should automatically feel sorry for those players that love playing as killers?

What the ######### are you talking about, I literally just told you killers are stronger then a survivor and has to be at least somewhat on par as a 4 man team and to do that is given priority in most scenarios because otherwise they'd likely get rolled, killers are overall still in the power position in most games hence why most killers in the game have well over a 50% killrate it only becomes survivor sided when its a 3 or 4 man just because a team is a swf that doesn't mean its an automatic win just like going with strong killer with their best addons isn't a garunteed win. A swf can suck balls and most aren't playing sweaty since exits more often then just friends ######### around in a discord call and not a comp team micromanagiing every little thing.

  • All of the licensed maps are awful (imho)and at this point I dread licensed chapters with maps.

Realistically boones won’t do much to change the meta anyway. Nothing to quit the game over

I mean they likely won't now with the more.balanced versions that will reach live but let's be honest they absolutely would have been awful to go against if they launched as they were in the PTB. Plus you know SBMM thats why I quit, that and not a killer I liked being released since blight and all the friends I played survivor with quit the game months ago.

Before you ask why I'm still on the forums, its because there's no other successful game like dbd so until one comes along im just going to have to hope the game goes in a direction that would make the game fun for me again.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    See you tomorrow!

You say that but veterans legit leave all the time because of changes like this.

  • Because if its a hot button issue it's almost always a lose lose scenario for them.

  • @Fenril said:

Does it actually make any sense that the killer can completely ignore your "collision box" and close the hatch even if you are on top of it, preventing him from closing it (but he gets to close it anyway)?

In my opinion, it doesn't make any sense. ANY sense.

Please, remove the killer's interaction priority with the hatch. This is overdue, trully.

    Thank you.

And if you are a killer main and finds my thread infuriating, I have an advice for you: find a psychiatrist. You're delusional if you think this is even fair.

Okay let me break it down for you, this is a 1v4 game there fore the 1 has to be stronger inherently and get priority in most cases.

Plus the hatch is random enough as it is can you give me 1 good reason why survivors should get priority when they have already failed their objective the normal way aka gens, when the killer has already succeeded 3/4s of their objective and now have to bank on the hatch not spawning right next to the survivor or the survivor camping hatch if they want any chance of securing the 4th kill.

This honestly isn't a very important issue to me at all but having survivors able to sit on the hatch is just dumb design.

  • We all know, including the devs, that it isn't "skill based" matchmaking its escape based matchmaking and its a horrible system for determining individual skill but apparently its making "better" matches for the majority of the playerbase so expect it to stay

8 maps are 20% and not half of the realms.

When i say 1 realm, i mean 1 specific map. So its not "Coldwind Farm banned" its "Thompson House banned"

Okay that's an important distinction cause thats not how the game distinguishes between the 2. A realm is like coldwind farm and maps are the specific maps in those realms.

  • The problem with that is that you could feasibly ban up to 8 realms which are over half the realms in the game and depending on which realms get banned that's up to almost 80% or more of the maps in the game. Im fine with an offering that would disable a map or realm or make it so you can only ban specific maps.

  • Bring her back to 115% like she was originally as well as bring back omega blink nurse

  • Its BBQ and I suspect that is a popular choice

Lmfao I can't believe you just put the words playing to win and playing competitive is one sentence with a straight face and tell me there's a difference. By the way you're supposed to replace the word "playing" with "trying" otherwise it makes your argument point absolutely silly when you describe the former with the words trying afterward . But I'll be ignoring that aside. All you did is explain someone that's highly competitive person but both are still competitive by nature.

You've obviously never actually played a proper competitive game so have a good one.

  • @Myla said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2549860#Comment_2549860

But TC said he didn't play DBD to be competitive? What do you mean he's playing a PvP game to win :)?

If you're playing a PvP game to win just admit it don't be like TC who is pretending that he's not.

Playing to win and playing competitive are 2 very different things. If I use some build but still try to win then I'm not playing competitively. Even if I use meta perks but I'm just messing around thats still not playing sweaty or competitively(boring maybe) but not competitive. Now if I'm using a meta loadout on a meta killer slugging and proxy camping after bring a MacMillan bone with my best addons then I'm playing competitively.

It does. Now we can discuss balance and don't fight about who has bigger number. If they reveal it without any supporting game data about game results it will end up with a guy who has bigger number with [Bad word] everyone that they have no right for opinion cause *git gud*

Uh huh and now that its been data leaked and even by bhvrs own admission it doesn't track skill you still wonder why we wanted transparency. MMR is even less nuanced then the emblem system. I'll be honest I would've taken the jerk off spouting his high number like daddy's credit card if we got a good transparent system.

Please remember the questions weren't only taken from the forums - but our Social Media platforms as well, where the questions you mentioned didn't have a lot of upvotes, were more upvoted.

Okay but the question of "will you ban hackers" was the most liked comment on your QnA tweet that I could find and I scrolled for a good few minutes so thats 2 of your social accounts where a question concerning hacking was one of the most asked questions yet it wasn't even acknowledged in the QnA stream. It was even told to us many times during the stream that even though bhvr may not have concrete answers to be shared they gave us that good ole soon*tm* line to show us that it was at least on their radar. So is it not even on the list of priorities? I'm sure you don't make those decisions but you can at least understand how frustrating it is for people who actively engage in your community to feel ignored like that.

  • So we wouldn't know how bad their system was. Then it was datamined anyways so here we are. Their gonna say that its to prevent "elitism" in ranks but you could easily just make it so only you can see your own mmr just to know where you are as well as to have some amount of transparency.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

So we was teased the stats of kills for killers, wraith had roughly 55% meaning hes very near the constant 2k average....

But he was a little op and got nerfed?

    Huh....

Those stats mean fairly little in all honesty. All it really shows is that the ratio of how good a killer is to how easy a killer is to play defines their win rate.

  • Well they did and it was as dumb as I could have expected

  • Spawning all survivors together would be such a good buff to killers while also nerfing swfs at the same time. Lethal has really brought what many players already knew into the fore front since we can literally see how bad spawns ######### us over now. Spawns combined with map designs have almost as much sway over the match as what killer you picked and the devs have almost never really spoken about either in recent memory.

You work towards something, you get the reward. It's not like it's something vital to have, it's a nice reward that someone got to get it and you are not entitled to it because "gatekeeping". This term is so dumb.

What a petty little person you are

Releasing old rift outfits for sale in the store belittles the accomplishment and devotion of the players who were around and worked for them. Of all the things rolled with in dbd over the years, this in particular angers me on another level. Why do I spend money on the rift and put in the effort to complete these sometimes ridiculously hard challenges just so someone with a few extra bucks can just get the rewards with zero effort? Its a slap in the face. Please just stop it.

I never got this mindset of someone else having something I have devalues my item. When it comes to money that's different because of economy jargon I'm not qualified to talk about but when it comes to video games I really never got it. Especially around making items that were timed exclusives and making them available for other players. If I like something I want to share it with other people I hate having something and my friend saying it's cool how did you get it and having to tell oh you can't get it anymore sorry. That makes me feel way worse then when that item comes back in a shop or in a different event.

  • I think I can clear some things up for you. IT SUCKS. Real talk though is that from what I can tell is 1 kill is -mmr 2 kills is a draw and 3 or 4 kills is +mmr. Which is a dumb system but whatever.

  • @Advorsus said:

I just really don't find it fun anymore. At this point I'm only logging in to do one or two dailies, and then I immediately stop playing. Because even those matches are just not fun. This game feels more like a chore now. I didn't start playing DBD to play a competitive game. Every match feels exactly the same. Playing as survivor is like pulling teeth. And playing Killer is even worse. Because even with killers I'm not good with, like ones who are level 15 and have basic ass perks, I'm still going against full meta sweat squads. It's boring to go against a full decked out team when you're playing a killer with 0 useful perks. Try to use other killers to gain BP, but then I have to use all of their add-ons and offerings just to do it. And I only have one killer to use BBQ on because after over 10 bloodwebs on each killer, I've yet to get it. So either I get to play with one killer all day everyday, just to farm this grindy ass game, or I get stomped every game for dozens of games until I get enough BP to unlock useful perks on other killers.

I thought if I kept getting stomped each game, I'd go against less skilled survivors and killers. Nope, just more of the same every single match. And it's just become too much of a chore, and very unwelcoming to both new and existing players. I don't want to play DBD competitively. So after 3 years of playing this game, I'm just gonna stop playing completely, and uninstall. It's not worth the headache. If I wanted to play competitive games, I'd go back to League or something.

Edit: Oh! And, I forgot to mention, even if I do extremely well and get Iridescent emblems, it does nothing for me as the grading system is broken. And after the end of every match it says there was a problem with the emblems system, and I just never get them. So there's always 0 reward for me doing well because now I'm stuck in a grade with no hope of further progression.

That's basically where I'm at honestly. Mmr only served to make my experience worse over time and after enough boring matches one way or the other I just said ######### it and uninstalled after over 1k hours it was such a simple and somewhat bitter decision and I've yet to regret it. It's a shame that this game treats its veteran players so badly but oh well what can you do except stop giving them your time and money. The sad part is that there really isn't a successful game like dbd and until there is one I'm still gonna keep track of dbd to see if they make any massive improvements that seem worth coming back for.

  • Oh as much as I want to bathe in the I told you so energy that this QnA stream has given me I still have to say that for the health of the game this is still incredibly disappointing to see. The mocking tone and super exaggerated example argument he used to basically vilify a legitimate point (even if for an attempt at comedy) really shows how little they actually care about player feedback.

  • This is why it being a hidden score was a big red flag to me. If it was a well put together system that legitimately rewarded and at least semi accurately determined skill then it being known to at least yourself would not have led to any major abuse. Also they just straight up lied about many things concerning mmr the past few years so that's cool.

  • @SunderMun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2549882#Comment_2549882

worse system, tbh. before it didn't depend on kills and survivals, now that's all that matters. old system was more nuanced by far.

Its no wonder they take years to do anything when they waste so much time on something that turns out to be a downgrade to the previous system.

  • Mmr is fairly useless and all they've done is spend 2 years to make an equally bad system and probably a worse feeling system and then just covered up ranks so people can stop bitching at them about rainbow lobbies.

  • Lol no. I do find it hilarious though

  • Sbmm is arguably worse then the old emblem system in every way and with its "soft caps" will only get worse over time even with bhvr adjustments

  • Id make it so you choose where your hex spawns.

  • I mean id agree if this was any other companies ptb, bhvr rarely makes large scale changes from ptb to launch. Hell even bugs usually get carried over, best we can expect are some number changes maybe.

  • Lmao cleanse your heart out

  • They literally just need to add the low settings that are already on pc. I don't understand why that's so difficult, like is it a legal problem with Microsoft and Sony? I don't get it.

  • I more just think you should be getting points for what every other survivor is doing while you are in chase at a reduced rate (not my idea but I cant remember where I heard it from).

  • Their system is crap so they hide it.

Because it's not a conspiracy. Some of us have genuine experience in coding, marketing or general insider knowledge and still call out BHVR on their BS.

Their lack of transparency has fostered severe distrust and negatively impacts their microtransactional sales. The happier the community, the more cash they pump in. Basic business sense, right? Only BHVR seems content to do as little work as possible and therefore invest less money into DbD while pushing cosmetics and visual upgrades (realm beyond) over gameplay (also realm beyond, hello insane gameplay choices) and stability (everyone whose not a PC player with a good rig). They make mistake after mistake, refuse to utilise the resource that is the Fog Whisperer program, and ignore their most dedicated audience, I suspect as another business choice related to them making more money off of chapter sales from the influx of new players in their current ecosystem.

But, instead of doing the smart thing and having their PR team handle the community and feed us all sweet platitudes, they just ignore us. Instead of implimenting basic fixes that anyone with any experience programming games will tell you takes less than an hour, let alone a day, they go out of their way to not rock the boat even if those fixes are console optimisation. And yes, there are a lot of settings that could be disabled on console to make the platform run a lot smoother with minimal visual impact.

There's no conspiracy. There's just a lack of good PR to drown out the experienced community members who can actually call out BS or provide details that allow people to read between the lines, often in a positive manner. Instead, everyone feels ignored and lied to, as well as outright silenced. Because, well, they are.

    Shh buy more linked sets

Guys, whatever the system is, ELO, Toilet paper or Water closet, the fact is that it works "perfectly". It doesn't mean it's good.

High skilled killer (really) are matched against high skilled survivors (really) and at the end, killers won't get more than 1K most of the time at this level.

I can't talk about lower level as i don't play there. How do i know ? Cause when i play survivor, i'm matched with 3k hours survivors that clearly know how to loop and hold the killer more than 1 minute.

When i play killer i'm matched against the exact same survivors that can loop me more than 1 minute and it's an insta loose.

I even faced survivors main that told me that the game cannot stay in this state as all high MMR killers will definitely leave as it became impossible to win.

That's the only thing to talk about. SBMM is working.

High MMR Killers can't win anymore.

High MMR survivors have an easy time.

That's not even how its playing out though. I rarely lose on my main killers so theoretically I should be fairly high mmr new system drops my matches are even more varied in skill then before and I've lost one match since mmr dropped out of maybe 15 to 20 and it was on pinhead who's currently bugged and fairly weak if you play him without addons like I do. It feels almost the same as the old system and now I have dramatically worse queue times
