What? 2 years to change iri hatchets ability to stack with extra hatchet addons wasn't quick enough for you? that's quite the entitlement you got there.

Killer has to know when to drop a chase and try chasing another survivor.
Yeah I know that, that's not something every killers does know though, that's the point.
-
The irony is this level of skill mismatch will likely still happen or worse if the tests are to go on, at least for me. I also have approximately zero faith in bhvr's ability to make an mmr when they wont even define what a win is, let alone the literal constant amount of bugs.

Maybe future you will want those addons?
Then i'll buy them then. Till then im never gonna use those throw the game addons like speed limiter that bhvr is so intent on adding to every killer for some awful reason.

the worst affected by the SBMM will be the veteran players. On killer side they will have to constantly face strong survivors and on survivor side they will allways face nurse, blight, spirit.
This is how spoiled veteran players are by the current matchmaking system. What other game do you see people freak out at the idea of going against people at a similar level to them?
Get big into siege or smite or something, then go on their forum, discord, reddit etc and explain how you have a right to go against players with a few hundred hours in most matches when you have several thousand. You'll be laughed at.
And before "those are comp games, dbd is a casual one" yeah well almost all of the people who make this argument don't treat dbd as a casual game at all.
I've played both of those games, heavily. Over 1k in smite and I think around 700 in siege and the more weird thing is that players would prefer to smurf then play the high level version of this game. Sweaty dbd to most is just an awful experience for both sides.

I personally think it’s going to be a ######### show for a lot of us. I understand there are a lot more happy players this time around (which is good) but that may change if those who are frustrated decide to leave or take a break until SBMM is gone. Then those who stay will get longer que times and less variety in everything.
I know the devs stated they’ll be monitoring and tweaking, but I personally don’t know if I’ll have the patience. I’ll try to hang in there the best I can, though.
i'll play a little and maybe buy pinhead cause new killers are the only thing that interests me anymore but if the SBMM is gonna be anything like the tests then for those were all terrible so ill probably be dropping the game.

Abused to exploit the system, if you have say a score between 100-200, you would have to play worse a handful of games to decrease significantly in your rating.... knowing exactly the progress, you'd know exactly how much you need to play bad/ throw games to decrease so you get against weaker players.
Maybe in the future they will but that's the issue that will arise.
How would knowing this change anything, people who want to throw are gonna just run to the killer and kill themselves on first hook regardless and its not like that's changed unless they implement some kind of "protection" against something like that but they've said nothing about that and if they do implement something like that then what would be the advantage of not telling players that killing yourselves on first hook does nothing to your score?

@TicTac said:
I think Otzdarva said that he knows that it will use the average. Dont know whether its stated in a blogpost or the devs did tell him.
I don't know if that's just his own speculation or if they said so directly but that's only half of the question anyways
-
The wiki is the best we got. Ill never understand why bhvr decided to use such cookie cutter sentences when no 2 tremendously mean the same thing. Its extremely misleading in a lot of cases too.
-
Yeah ill be honest lucky break is severely underrated. Difficult to make use of sure but when used properly especially on the weaker links in your team can completely destroy a killers momentum and although thankfully its rare, ive absolutely lost games almost purely because of this perk.
-
Depends on how you define underrated, its pretty universally considered the 3rd best exhaustion perk behind SB and DH, and with exhaustion perks being some of the best perks in the game I wouldn't say its underrated at all.
-
A bug fix kind of chapter that fixes more bugs then it implements
-
Or and hear me out, people just agree with some content creators. Many content creators are in the higher percentages of players, which makes sense with how much they play many of whom play it 8 hours a day several days a week. So obviously they'd dislike the idea of an sbmm since its very well known that high level dbd is one if not the worst version of dbd. People can come to their own conclusions, shocker I know, and sometimes those opinions will somewhat or very closely align with some of the bigger content creators on specific issues.
-
More like a not very passionate dread. I have zero faith that it will work properly based on my experiences in the tests (and I played all of them) and their lack of transparency in even our own scores let alone what it considers a win or even generally what it takes into account when determining your score makes me believe that bhvr has little faith in the system and would rather just keep their players in the dark on it.
-
B tier every single time.
-
The complete lack of transparency on sbmm only leads me to believe they have zero faith in their own system and would prefer to keep the playerbase in the dark.

I pay attention to actions, not words. So I'm with you here.
Yeah I dont know how others can trust a company that consistently releases game breaking bugs every patch.

Pretty much.
I oppose SBMM for a bit of a different reason than everyone else seems to-- namely, that it revolves around the idea of DbD actually being a functional balanced game.
Which it'll never be.
A: because the devs have stated that they aren't really interested in high level balance, and
B: Because they honest-to-god just aren't capable of it.
Exactly id be mostly fine with a well made sbmm (which u don't think bhvr is capable of) as long as there is also a seperate queue that doesn't have the same sbmm. Id also be far more comfortable with the whole system if they were being transparent about our own scores and generally how it worked. I know they can't give out every single detail because people would try and cheese it but it being completely unknown makes me think they aren't confident in their own system.

@ThiccBudhha said:
As far as I am aware... THIS has been what they were focused on, once we get it, they can start to address other issues.
Their priorities are wacked then, map, perk, and killer balance has long been massive issues, not too mention the vast amount of bugs and optimization issues. Don't get me wrong the matchmaking is an issue but I also don't like how little we as players know about the new mmr, we won't even know what our own mmr is let alone what the system even acknowledges as a win. If my experience during every test is any indication then I'll be leaving the game once sbmm comes out.

It'll be oppressive no matter what, what if the second ds only activated if there were only 1 gen or less completed?
If its oppressive then you shouldn't put it in the game. Perks, especially survivor perks should never be oppressive on their own and its not like theirs any real tactical or skillful way to use ds. So still no, I reiterate its perfectly fine the way it is currently.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
MMR would be a good idea for a game that can solidly measure skill and is actually balanced and fun at the highest level.
Or just in general.
The fact that people trust bhvr to make an actually balanced mmr is shocking to me and I have no idea what they've done in the past to give people that trust in their ability.

Why not have the second timer be 20 seconds if it was used once and the killer still wants your bum?
If you make the timer so short then it wouldn't matter anyways so the buff would be completely pointless and if you make it long enough to matter then it becomes oppressive so again id say its perfect the way it is currently.
-
@razberrypizza said:
Maybe take a break from it? What would you suggest that would make the game less "stale and dull"
New game modes would be a great start.
-
Its fine the way it is. Its not too strong and not too weak. It protects against legit tunneling in the same way it used too, however it doesn't protect you against getting found twice after trying to continue the game forward. Its finally doing its job of being an anti tunnel perk without being oppressive to go against.
-
No mither is already hard mode that hurts your team so I dont see how it helping an oni changes anything.
-
If they ever actually buff Myers to make him viable in the current state of the game then id be fine with him losing some of his stronger addons like Tombstone peice and tuft of hair but until then I dont mind since he's easily in the bottom 5 or 6 killers for me.
-
The aura reading is good but is only really good on supr high mobility killers, but the BP bonus is supposed to incentivize hooking multiple survivors instead of just tunneling and camping 2 or 3 survivors.

The irony is he brings home more kills than most of the killers in red ranks.
Pig the real OP killer need nerf. Those mean very little in all honestly except that kill rates is basically just a measure of how hard a killer is to play
-
My experiences were very negative in all the tests, my queue times increased, and with absolutely no transparency on your own score or even any indication of how the system works or what it even considers a win, I have very little faith in BHVR to make it work for anybody that even kind of knows how to play the game.
I'll give it a shot, mostly to play pinhead, but depending on how it goes this will very likely be the last chapter I play of this game
-
I've wanted it gone since I first played on it
-
Wow I'm surprised at how not even remotely close it is
-
twins as the majority i've gone against have been the least fun killers to go against.

So you want the BT to get nerfed..?
Honestly not really, more playing devils advocate for how some people use and abuse bt. I know why it needs to stay as strong as it is and I dont even think its badly designed more just that people complain about tunneling then go and bodyblock after getting unhooked and wonder why the killer decided to go after them. Perhaps a bit off topic but thats where my thoughts were at when I made my comment.

@Aven_Fallen said:

Dont pretend that you would care about it. Nobody would care about getting bitched at for tunneling if the Survivor decides do bodyblock with BT.
I dont care about the bitching in fact I leave my profile public since I get a kick out of the hate comments I get knowing full well I go out of my way to be a fairly nice killer. What I do care about is that bhvr mentioned implementing an auto ban system and I know for a fact I've gotten bogus reports on my account.

Wait it out, then slap them back on the hook if they try to do that.
So you can bitched at for tunneling. I don't even have a problem with bt honestly but unless a killer plays ubsurdly nice they will get ######### and even if they do survivors usually have trouble seeing the big picture of a game and will still think they are getting tunneled or camped or whatever.
-
Because playing meta in dbd is easily the most boring form of dbd like how genrushing and tunneling is boring as ######### to play against. If people only played meta this game would die within a month.
-
And for the killers that don't tunnel and lose a ton of pressure because of people hook bombing and then people body block with bt?
-
The game already has so many infuriating rng aspects to it why should we respect one more that literally undos so much pressure and may cost us the game or even just a 4k. I don't usually slug for the 4k but I've gotten to the point where I'm too lazy to carry someone to hatch most days however if they find it then whatever but having someone kobe just means more work for me.

i feel like any killer that is 4.6 is at least okay. If they are less than that then their power really needs to make up for it. Which is very hard to do because that requires more more balancing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2448662#Comment_2448662
I mean sure but all the worst killers in the game are 4.6 since although trickster still isn't really good, he's certainly not even close to the worst killer in the game.
-
I mean you can just play clown since he has it intrinsically
-
Yeah I hate it as killer and survivor, it's confusing to me and very difficult to navigate as survivor and its a massive map that intrinsically neuters many killers powers. Does it look cool? sure I wont deny that it does look good but the aesthetics of a map matters so much less then the gameplay of a map that it could look like a roblox clone for all I care as long as it plays better.
-
Yeah what the other dude said you don't actually loop clown as that's the only thing he does well, you just run early as ######### and throw pallets early. If you make chasing you not worth the time investment then he will lose 10 out of 10 matches as he has no effective way to catch up in long chases and he has absolutely no map pressure.
-
It's extremely minor to the point of not being even remotely noticeable
-
What you mean bhvr said they fixed something, didn't, then never talked about it again while patting themselves on the back for a job well done. How could it be?
-
Its an audio occlusion problem usually, the game has been plagued by it for years and this is one they've never even tried to fix in the 2+ years I've played it, or at least have never fixed with any amount of success.
-
The norm for survivor perks is to either have an activation condition, an effect that's not terribly bad or good and a penalty for using the perk or just an effect that's bad so no one even uses the perk
See team leader, unbreakable, Spine chill, or the many other perks that have almost no activation condition or the activation condition is just something you are gonna do anyways like DH. All of which are also strong perks. If deliverance could be activated with no condition to gain it first and could be used in either first or second hook state it would OP as hell and we both know it.
-
map design is in my opinion been the thing that plagues this game the most and is the source of many of the largest grievances on both sides. I've held this opinion for a long time now and with each new map they add it only further solidifies my belief in it.
-
Yeah they just pissy they got countered.

Yeah MMR was kinda horrible for me. I dunno, I guess no matter what there are survivors who are too scared to play the game. I had two games during MMR where I was on a gen, one person got hooked with Kindred, and the other two were waiting at the gate. TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED.
I kinda wish they didn't have a ranking system at all. It's not like ranks mean anything, and bad players seem to think they're amazing if they hit rank one. I had someone with 56 total hours hit rank one as a survivor and they actually thought they were god tier.
Idk what mmr is supposed to class as skill hut as a killer it felt almost identical to current matchmaking. Which means it usually came down to there being maybe one survivor who knew what they were doing and 3 people who didn't, but bad maps and spawns also play a big role cause even a bad survivors can get lucky and spawn all spread out jump on a gen and have 3 gens done by the 2 minute mark.
-
There is no matchmaking at this point, and I dont think mmr will be any better based on how the last test went for me but now its invisible so we can't complain anymore, or I guess thats what bhvrs idea is.
