BHVR should really come out and make mmr visible and explain to us generally how mmr works now more then ever.

I think it bears repeating considering recent events also I didn't even remember making it until you said something I just hold that opinion

  • It makes no difference what BHVR says or does, because the people who keep making those threads will just use it as "proof" that they're right.

Just like I said in a thread that was deleted:

    • If it gets deleted, it's because the conspiracy is true and "they" (every conspiracy theory has a faceless "they") are trying to hide it.
    • If it gets ignored (or, more likely, not noticed), it's true because otherwise "they" would deny it. This is a very common way to try to get a reaction of of "them", after which, if successful, the people move on to the above point.
    • If "they" deny it, "they" are obviously lying and the conspiracy is true.

There's no winning here, because everything just feeds into the conspiracy. What would be the point in BHVR lifting a finger (beyond enforcing the rules)?

It really does not, there are like 4 active thread atm about SBMM and I'm certain the developers saw your previous thread.

Im sure someone will say "Players ought to be able to see our MMR" in one of those.

If they make your score visible then you can verifiably confirm if the other threads were in fact correct, also it never would have been a problem if they had made it transparent from the get go

Or not, because there's a lot going on in a trial that can affect your score. However, that's irrelevant because, again, the conspiracy-minded people will claim they're right anyway.

also it never would have been a problem if they had made it transparent from the get go

BHVR is transparent with a lot of things and still gets accused of not being transparent with those things. Like I said, it doesn't matter what they do.

I mean, outright deleting discussion is sus, you do not need to be Sherlock Holmes to commit to less mental gymnastics. There is only one plausible explanation as to why they would outright delete as opposed to lock a thread fam. Get your thinking cap on, homie.

Yes, you're right. There's really only one reason. That reason being that the rules explicitly forbid discussing leaks (real or not).

You could lock leak threads, as they generally do regarding any threads against the rules. You need to address that point to merit sarcasm after pulling the "everything is a conspiracy, data mined info is fake, the WHOLE WORLD IS CRAZY... Threads are locked if the rule-breaking is going on inside the thread. They get deleted if the rule-breaking is the thread. That's standard procedure (and logical), from what I've observed.

We can assume it is working on the ELO system as all the other games. We don't need leaks for it.

When 100% of the ranked systems in the video game industry are working with the ELO system, why would DbD be any different ?

It's usually the distinction wherever I go. I mean, if someone opens a porn thread, for instance, are you going to lock the thread, keeping the content around, or are you going to delete it, and eliminate the problem?

because other games that have an elo system have a set win condition DbD does not

Well, yeah, that is kind of what I meant. You delete stuff that needs to be deleted. Discussion about an mmr system is not the same as explicit imagery or excessive profanity. If someone was literally posting the source code or something, makes sense. Someone creates a thread to do what we are doing right now, why does that justify a delete whereas ours justifies a lock? I am not personally seeing the logic. But if the hard rule is delete threads where the OP kicks it off and lock threads were people violate da rulez... So be it, I guess.

so a team who does 4 gens and 2 escape with a key is a draw even though the killer did more of their objective then the survivors?

    Yup.

I don’t mind repeated topics, but when there’s 6 threads of the same topic it gets tedious.

  • Guys, whatever the system is, ELO, Toilet paper or Water closet, the fact is that it works "perfectly". It doesn't mean it's good.

High skilled killer (really) are matched against high skilled survivors (really) and at the end, killers won't get more than 1K most of the time at this level.

I can't talk about lower level as i don't play there. How do i know ? Cause when i play survivor, i'm matched with 3k hours survivors that clearly know how to loop and hold the killer more than 1 minute.

When i play killer i'm matched against the exact same survivors that can loop me more than 1 minute and it's an insta loose.

I even faced survivors main that told me that the game cannot stay in this state as all high MMR killers will definitely leave as it became impossible to win.

That's the only thing to talk about. SBMM is working.

High MMR Killers can't win anymore.

High MMR survivors have an easy time.

That's not even how its playing out though. I rarely lose on my main killers so theoretically I should be fairly high mmr new system drops my matches are even more varied in skill then before and I've lost one match since mmr dropped out of maybe 15 to 20 and it was on pinhead who's currently bugged and fairly weak if you play him without addons like I do. It feels almost the same as the old system and now I have dramatically worse queue times

  • ELO with no explicit win condition is an innate and intrinsic misunderstanding of how the system functions.

BHVR has inherently failed to do any of what's needed to make this system a success.

There's no winning here, because everything just feeds into the conspiracy. What would be the point in BHVR lifting a finger (beyond enforcing the rules)?

Because it's not a conspiracy. Some of us have genuine experience in coding, marketing or general insider knowledge and still call out BHVR on their BS.

Their lack of transparency has fostered severe distrust and negatively impacts their microtransactional sales. The happier the community, the more cash they pump in. Basic business sense, right? Only BHVR seems content to do as little work as possible and therefore invest less money into DbD while pushing cosmetics and visual upgrades (realm beyond) over gameplay (also realm beyond, hello insane gameplay choices) and stability (everyone whose not a PC player with a good rig). They make mistake after mistake, refuse to utilise the resource that is the Fog Whisperer program, and ignore their most dedicated audience, I suspect as another business choice related to them making more money off of chapter sales from the influx of new players in their current ecosystem.

But, instead of doing the smart thing and having their PR team handle the community and feed us all sweet platitudes, they just ignore us. Instead of implimenting basic fixes that anyone with any experience programming games will tell you takes less than an hour, let alone a day, they go out of their way to not rock the boat even if those fixes are console optimisation. And yes, there are a lot of settings that could be disabled on console to make the platform run a lot smoother with minimal visual impact.

There's no conspiracy. There's just a lack of good PR to drown out the experienced community members who can actually call out BS or provide details that allow people to read between the lines, often in a positive manner. Instead, everyone feels ignored and lied to, as well as outright silenced. Because, well, they are.

  • They literally just need to add the low settings that are already on pc. I don't understand why that's so difficult, like is it a legal problem with Microsoft and Sony? I don't get it.
