I don't know why I'm posting this here, but I need to vent to someone, and this community comes to mind.
She died last night, from pneumonia. It was peaceful, and she didn't feel any pain.
I feel like its my fault. I didn't talk to her enough.
Like I said, I'm posting this here because I trust you guys.
Sorry for your loss my dude. My great grandma is 103 or 104 right now. She's in a home. I planned on visiting her just before this whole lockdown but I'm worried I may not get to see her again. Sucks. Stay strong my dude.

Jane Levy is my celeb crush so no. They'd ######### up her face.

Judging by the lack of him on Switch I can only assume rights issues arose. Apparently the right to the NOES license reverted to Wes Craven's estate sometime after the original release. And he was notoriously against the remake, going as far as to publicly denounce it, which the DLC is based off of.
I wouldn't hold my breath.

I complained at first but this is the first one where I've reached level 70 before completeing even a quarter of the last page. I had been playing a fair amount, however.

This is rather assumptious of me, but I believe a key reason for a 1% buff rather than a 2% or 3% is because Legion (the best user of the perk by far) would pretty much have the best and most reliable slowdown in the game since he can reliably keep people injured and undo heals almost immediately.
Maybe. But the main shortcoming of Legion is their inability to down with their power. Survivors dont heal and just gen rush. And a lot of Legions just stack it with Sloppy to discourage it further.
Legions lack of downing potential means that they can be pallet and window looped to an absurd degree so any time the survivors would have lost to this perk is massively gained by how non lethal feral frenzy is.

That's what I thought forever until I saw this. It seems like either the hitbox really is bad or there's just a crazy amount of desync in that clip. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1639352
I don't have it on hand but I remember from one of the old dev streams after they reverted a hitbox change. They basically made her hatchets accurate to the model and because survivor hitboxes also aren't accurate it meant they would phase right through survivors legs/arms during certian animations so they reverted it.
They should have chosen a inbetween size hitbox because the current hitbox they reverted to is obnoxiously large and forgiving. Combined with latency and killer lag and you have 90 degree turn hits and hits through walls.
You can even get hits at impossible angles through windows if the survivor is in the corner when you can't even see them at 30ms due to the hitbox size.

When BHVR revealed that survivors would no longer suffer from reduced healing speeds against Thana, but would instead suffer from greater affects to action speeds, needless to say I think we all assumed those numbers would be greater than 1%.
Literally adding just a few more seconds to a generator? Why even bother?
I expected at least a 2-3% increase minimum per level. I always thought Thana was a pretty trash perk that had usage in niche builds. I won't even consider using it now.
-
We've been given a definitive statement a billion times already. It's not happening. Done. Finished. Zilch. Gone. Let it go, it's just a color swap.

I can't believe people don't understand how editing file values in an online game for an advantage isnt cheating. It's an abasurdly thick-skulled take for to me.
If the killer could do this by a mere 30 degrees people would be pissing and moaning non stop.
-
Oni only has his power temporarily and chances are if BBQ is active he doesn't as it cancels on pickup and he has to expend some ontop of that for a down. Billys a bit more restricted in using his chainsaw for cross map mobility nowadays so unless he snipes you (your fault) he'll have trouble sawwing you.
I think BBQ is pretty incredibly easy to counter nowadays. It's pretty eay to be in range and not be found and if you're that worried most gens are within 16m range of a locker unless you're on a swamp map.

Lmao just read the Undying changes.
We finally get a good perk that makes totems viable and he wants to kill it immediately.
I’m starting to dislike Otz. He comes across like one of those celebrities that is too focussed on saying the right thing so people will like him.
As a solo player I disagree wholeheartedly with Undying being OP. I cleanse all 5 totems easily as a solo. If you're worried about being caught just wait for a chase/down.
-
I'd prefer the Undying aura be changed and given to Thrill than the removal of respawns.
I use small game and have no problem deleting totems solo.

Just because a streamer says it doesn't make it important.
I'd say when its someone who is regularly in contact with the devs, is a fog whisperer and plays the game for 6+ hours everyday for multiple years for a living their opinions on balance probably have a lot more worth than the average forums user.
Not to mention that the devs pretty much straight up used his LF rework idea (to our knowledge, they may have had that concept in the works already).

then you dont play the game simple. just because you want to play the game so bad you have the rights to make the game experience of other people bad? what is that logic? its completely fine to let other people suffer? devs dont bring a ping indicator of killers, they dont improve the servers, they dont bring new servers to different regions like russia, they brought a hit validiation what isnt even working.
but omg stretched is sooo cheating. where you can look over a rock just by 1CM
if you say SWF is cheating, stretched is cheating also getting a advantage of a bad ping is cheating simple.
its not 1 meter. Its almost multiple times longer than the normal FOV. theres no FOV options which is obviously intended design.
If killers could edit a file and triple their FOV you WOULD be complaining.

It's unlikely that the gen speeds will be slowed down to make games last longer, and I've had this idea mulling about in my head for awhile, so I decided to catalogue it here. Doubt it will happen, but it was fun to come up with the concept:
At 3 gens, if there is still 4 survivors in the game, a vaguely angel shaped apparition made from Entity tendrils appears and begins pursuing the Obsession. It moves at half the speed of survivors, but ignores obstacles and terrain. It has an aura that all survivors can see at anytime. If any survivor enters a 2m radius around The Angel, they get wrapped by it, and it counts as a hook state (similar to PH in that perks don't work with it), and requires other survivors to come save them. Dreadful music and screen effects occur to let them know they're in danger. The Angel can't catch a survivor in the dying state. If the Obsession is being chased or is in the dying/hooked/carried state, The Angel stops in place until the chase ends or the survivor recovers. The Angel disappears when there's only 1 gen remaining, or if the remaining survivors is less than 4.
People who have said Breakable walls should have to be built first have the right idea.
Devs said Breakable walls were a bonus for the killer but theres only 2 walls (both on the pre school) that actively benefit the killer. And have the opposite effect when broken. The rest create literal infinites in areas where there didnt used to be.

I primarily play the Stealth kilers nowadays. If I see an Object I just instaquit. There's no way to play around it.

I've been playing a lot, and I mean a lot lately because I need to get everything in the current time thing. And literally, Every. Single. Game. I. Play. The. Killer. Tunnels. I don't even play toxic! I do gens and save people. I don't loop cause I don't know how, I also don't teabag. And yet....KILLERS STILL TUNNEL. The survivors I play with are usually trash so there should be absolutely no need for tunneling and yet Freddie's, Pigs, Michael's, Spirits, literally every single killer in this damn game alllllllllllll tunnel. It's BS. I don't understand.
If you get really unlucky or just get an extremely good team it can be more beneficial to camp/tunnel one survivor out of the game to slow down gens. For example, I have a Feng who is insane at looping on a non anti-loop killer. I hook her and see 2 survivors nearby trying to sneak to the hook. There are 3 gens left and one pops while they're near the hook telling me they probably have no gen progress outside of those 2. They clearly dont have BT as they arent in my face so I can safely camp her our of the game. At that point even if they run back to the gens towards the end of her hook phase they've taken a significant hit to gen progress.
Whereas if I let her get unhooked she'd run straight to a gen and I'd have 3, potentially 4 players on gens.
If shes dead I have 3 potentially 2, if I'm chasing.

What if Cruel limits was 128 meters and lasted 180 seconds?
That would be absurdly OP but I assume you're joking.
-
Mindbreaker still has its "below 50% gen progression" limit which still remains to this day the weirdest limitation on any perk. So its hot garbage. Without that it could be good on Ambush/Stealth killers. The devs seem so afraid of punishing survivors who remain injured with Sprint Burst/Dead Hard who rush gens without healing its bizarre.
Cruel limits just isnt worth using no matter how much they buff the numbers.
-
It has about the same overall effect as Bamboozle. Taking 15% off a 1.5 second vault is almost pointless. Bamboozle at least has the ability to force drop certain god pallets earlier.

Legion and Ghostface.
Legion = Hold M1 all game, less counterplay to his frenzy than all the other “no counterplay” killers people talk about.
Ghostface = Just fees very cheap. The whole I can stalk you but you cant reveal me thing, the perfect stealth with no penalty to speed and can freely attack. He’s a strong killer but I wouldn’t say OP, very frustrating to play against though.
The weird thing about GF is that the center 27% (or close to that) of your screen is the only part that can reveal him and at least 20% of his body must be in said frame. It's very finicky. A piece of advice. NEVER try to reveal him if he's peeking. Chances are too little of his body is on display (usually just his face) for it to register and he will outstalk your reveal. It's always best to break LOS as soon as possible if they're peeking. If they're stalking out in the open you can freely reveal unless he 99%d you earlier. Which I think it would be nice if you were able to see your own stalk progress to play around this.

Thank you. I´d like to add that there are quite a few tiles where a good Survivor can reliably deny the instadown - hence basically negating his power almost entirely - and there are quite a few tricks to juke him.
I don't play him because I think his movement is weird but it blows my mind when people call him OP. He's overtaken Billy as the "perfect balance" for a killer IMO.
-
You know you can deny his power permanently if you just play it safe and drop the pallet early right? He needs at least 1 blood orb/hit to activate his power even with 98% passive charge. He's extremely strong in his power because he has to be.
He's traplesss trapper if you play conservatively.

@Ev13698324 said:
I dunno what the devs did to his power this patch, but I swear he slides on so many more objects now. Cars on haddonfield, trees and crates on swamp, etc. There just seem to be a bunch of things he simply can't bounce of for whatever reason. Its one thing if you miss an object, its another if you directly hit it but somehow slide off.
Am I just imagining things? Or what did the devs change?
I've been sliding off that 3 Tyre stacks constantly even when approaching it head on. Same with the hills.

Franklins & TTS, and trap the shiz outta that totem.
I don't think its very fair to expect the killer to have to use a perk slot for one item when the survivor doesn't have to use any. Trapper depserately needs his perk slots for slowdown. Trapping totems is too predictable. If you're against a trapper or had you damn well crouch towards that totem young man.

Survivors who hold w dont know how to play the game and r extremely boring.
7% all game would be insane yes but its not all game and not every survivor which is the point.
Survivors who know when to hold W and when to run to the nearest pallet are some of the smarter ones.
Go play a game on Midwich and tell me holding W isn't insanely strong in certain areas. If you and the survivor both chase in a straight line with the survivor having a 5 second headstart in can take upwards of a minute for 2 hits. That 15% speed does nothing if there's no way to cut the survivor off or use a power to catch up.

...And you can't change my mind.
Think about it. It's been a while since we actually got this many perks changed under one update.
There might be the usual minority that will disagree with a few things, such as the Thanatophobia change, however even if the healing penalty will no longer exist for it, people will still find it annoying to go against, especially combined with Dying Light. I mean, I sure would find it annoying to go against, but I can't judge for sure until I actually see the update for myself.
And of course, the Pyramid Head nerf. Thank goodness, I was starting to get too good playing as Pyramid Head.
But the best change of all? Well of course, it has to be the Perk Rarity Simplification! I'm a simple man with a simple mind, and I absolutely adore simplicity in anything. This one just takes the cake. Well done, lads.
I'm eager to try the PTB already!
I'm just confused by some of the change. Mainly the WGLF one. They could have made Buckle Up usable with a secondary power tha tmade sense. Instead they gave it to WGLF. They could have just done faster unhooks or something.
-
You claim to have a thousand hours in this game but claim Wraith can "grab you off a gen". He literally has to announce the START of his uncloak to everyone in a 48 meter range.
Pig has slowdown, yes. RNG based slowdown that can completely screw her and after that shes a worse Ghostface/Wraith, mediocre stealth and a somewhat decent counter to shorter loops. She isn't good.

The Shape is not the best Killer right now, he is overshadowed by other Killers, like The Oni, so here are some small buffs to his base kit and some addons!
Evil Within
Evil Within I
- Increased the base movement speed to 110% or 4.4 m/s. (From 105% or 4.2 m/s)
Evil Within II
- Increased the base pallet breaking, breakable-wall breaking and generator kicking speeds by 5%.
- When the Stalk meter is full, press and hold the Secondary Power button to activate Evil Within III.
Evil Within III
- Increased the base pallet breaking, breakable-wall breaking and generator kicking speeds by 10%.
- Increased the Blood Point gain for downing a Survivor to 800. (From 300 Blood Points)
Add-Ons
Vanity Mirror (Buff)
- Reduced the base movement speed penalty to -5%. (From -7%)
Scratched Mirror (Basically the same)
- Reduces the base movement speed by 5%. (From 110% to 105%)
Lock of Hair (New playstyle)
- When Evil Within III ends, The Shape goes back to Evil Within I instead of Evil Within II.
- Moderately increases the amount of "Stalk Points" in the Trial. (To 60.6 from 40.4)
Hope you like these changes!
Just remove Evil Within 1. Theres NO EXCUSE for a killer to be below 115% at any point without a movement based power. Good survivors know you're coming and can prevent a EW level up long enough by simply looping a rock or single pallet for 2-3 gens to get done. He still gets looped even in EW3 so why is he punished so hard at match start?
EW is outdated. Micheal is a relic of the past. Ghostface does everything he does better.

Most of Wraith's perks are pretty god awful. Predator makes it way harder to see scratch marks as they're more likely to get bunched up under grass or something low down. Terrible perk.

Doctor isnt op. On most loops he loses ground if he tries to stun.
Short loops just drop the pallet early. Don't bank on windows ever against him.

Watched a bit of Zubat stream recently and he literally dced after he didn't liked something in the match.Used to watch Puppers a while ago until I saw him just throwing games and killing himself on first hook for no reason.
The others I watch they either just equip flashlights and fool around the whole game barely doing any gens with OoO or just run ds,adrenaline and your usual meta builds.
I honestly think survivors that still do good without running ds,unbreakable, dead hard, adrenaline, sprint burst,bt or object are legends, tho you dont see many of those around.
Zubats fun to watch when he plays survivor. I think Jendenise has recently started streaming again and she is definitely in the top 5 survivor players I've ever seen.

I feel the same way. Legion is the only killer who causes a stalemate. You get some situations where he's constantly injuring everyone but isn't getting any hooks, meanwhile the survivors are constantly mending/healing but aren't getting any gens done. It's the most boring thing in the entire game by far. At least with a god tier Nurse, spirit or Billy you're gonna die quick.
Yeah thats pretty much spot on. The stalemate. The amount of games I've seen where the last few survivors will just run at the killer and hope he'll hook them to end the game is stupid.
I maintain my opinion that while Spirit/Slinger/PH and Huntress (mainly just that absurd Hatchet hitbox) have minor flaws in their design, Legion is by far the worst designed killer ever put in this game.
He never should have made it past the design draft stage.
-
@FFabeq said:
What would you want to see being nerfed/reworked in survivor side? And why?
Keys
Decisive Strike actually being anti-tunnel and not "stop playing so well"
Object of Obsession being deleted from existence that perk is absurd in SWF
Quentin face rework, I kill him out of a sense of honor because goddamn that face
A BP reward for killer that scales with how many SWF players were in the match, announced and rewarded AFTER the game to avoid dodges.
-
Being completely honest? Me. If I'm solo and get a Legion with a meta legion build I know the game will last upwards of 20 minutes and end with my teamamtes probably just killing themself on hook. I absolutely hate playing against Spirit/Slinger/PH but I don't DC against them because at least the match wont be just sitting on gens/healing for 20 minutes.
Legions weak but if your solo team has a weak link that doesn't immediately make tracks and waits for him to get close in his frenzy instead of running the second they hear the heartbeat its over. He can absolutely stomp you with the right slowdown perks and 1-2 crappy players. It's incredibly boring and a waste of my leisure time.
There's nothing fun about filling bars with the occasional skill check as survivor. It's boring. I'm fine with a little slowdown to give the killer the breathing room they need but when it reaches into absurd territory. For example, a forever freddy or thana/sloppy/ruin/undying legion on wreckers yard I'm just gonna dip and either play killer or play another game.
Slowdown builds are required against good swf but against solo they are absolutely unnecessary and make the game incredibly dull. I went against 4 forever freddys the other day in a row. All different players. All solo teams. I decided to play Mordhau and CK3 for the rest of the day instead.

Since DS is about to get killed. What are some other "needed" survivor nerfs. I'd be interested in knowing so I can prepare for the dark times survivor edition.
Keys and DS are the only problems I have with survivor honestly. There are other perks but they only become strong when combined which is kinda okay imo.
Teamed up gen speeds are pretty busted but the major imbalances come from poor map/loop design right now.

Deathslinger shouldn't be nerfed like that because you aren't always under risk of being hit with his power, same with demogorgon.
Demo has a considerably longer startup than Deathslinger. An instant ADS deathslinger is unreactable by a human.
That said this change would hurt Slinger. He needs a rework. If you take this away his viability drops even further.
