So, what did they base the entire Billy nerf on? The opinions of bad survivors?

Either way, the Twins nerf is another proof that they have no idea how to nerf killers. Either they don't address core issues like with Spirit or they make them clunky and unfun to play like with Billy, Twins and Nurse to a lesser extent.

They had to make it look like they're actually working on stuff so they crapped out the overheat mechanic.

Whatever happened to the killer a majority of the community labeled as the best stealth killer? He used to be one of the top 4 killers I'd see on average, but now he's as rare as seeing Twins or Clown. Is it his weird tier list placements that effect the opinions of players?

Love the surge of Blight players though. Glad to see more of him these days.

Micheal is just more fun. More you can do thanks to the faster vault speed with chaser perks.

GF is stronger sure but the finicky detection on both sides can be quite aggravating to play as or against.

  • Its like 12 seconds maximum.

yeah you know right suddenly people said there's counter to spirit downright dont wanna accept the challenge.

Just for once prove all of us wrong that there's indeed way to lose chase for spirit or can last as long as any other killer in chase simple as that

I get that a lot of players do the whole "but the 1V4 matters you shouldn't have a chance of losing the killer, etc" to defend Spirit and even Deathslinger, but I when I look at all the killers I actively enjoy playing as or even against the most, they all have clear cut counterplay. Billy, Huntress, Leatherface, etc.

When I see a killer and think "guess I'll die" it really kills my motivation to continue playing the match.

I don't enjoy playing as Spirit anymore because I know that I have full control, and nothing short of me getting an important phone call or a power cut is going to prevent that 4K. Same with Slinger.

Instead of writing a paragraph, I will make a list

    • Nurse gets exhausted after blink, Spirit doesnt get it after phase.
    • Nurse has to decide either not lung to faster recover, or risking miss a lung and slower recover. Spirit can just stop phasing, checking Survivor's place and chase/lung.
    • Nurse deplete her powerbar no matter how short her blink is. Spirit barely use her 25% power bar at loops.
    • Nurse gives info: her length of charging (be able to hear by her breathing), direction she's facing, the dragging direction of her blink. Spirit gives nothing.
    • Nurse speed is 96, makes her have to rely on her power all the time to hit Survivor. Spirit speed is 110, with no punishment after a fail phase, makes Survivor's good play seems pointless.

Since great Nurse & Spirit can read survivors' movement no matter what (both are unfair). But because of the punishment Nurse gets from her mistakes, make her much more enjoyable to vs an average Nurse (more mistake, more windows to escape). An average Spirit gets zero punishment, make it no difference between an average & a great Spirit.

This is literally flowchart Ken lmao

    kenflowchart.jpg

oh my god spirit is the killer equivalent of laggy wifi kens LOL

  • mfw someone tells me they can counter Spirit because they don't know short phasing is a thing

    mfw no face sarcastic enough

Props to the guy for going through with it though, the amount of people I've seen smack talk Scott on this forum and then wimp out when they realise they're wrong is always worth a laugh.

  • @POLBOY said:

yeah, perks that can be deleted from killers at any point of the game should be as strong as possible.

    share your thoughts below ;)

Yeah, that's kind of the point. Blows my mind when people complain about Ruin being cleansed a minute in. That's part of the risk.

Problem is that outside of Ruin, Devour and maaaaybe that Trickster one they aren't worth potentially losing a perk slot 1 minute in. A lot of them like Lullaby, Third Seal, REtribution, etc are all complete trash.

    Oh okay.

So twins still weaker than SWF must be nerfed because they are strong to solos.

let's let SWF stomp on twins some more. Fair.

So you just want people to tell you you're right, Ok.

Anyways Dowsey was right, Twins needed a nerf but they did it wrong. The correct way would have been increasing Victor's respawn timer. Punishing him for actually landing hits was extremely dumb.

    no???????????????

top tier is ######### nurse and spirit.

after that is pyramid, deathslinger and hag

    twins is ######### C tier.

Read my post, matey. It's an incredibly stupid and boring playstyle but Twins CAN be top tier with that playstyle. Literally anyone with experience would tell you this.

And C tier is just average. That's where Doc would be around. If they're as bad as you say they'd be next to Legion and Clown.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

twins aren't even that good, you worried over some twins?

Twins are actually considered top tier.

It's just that you have to use an incredibly boring, campy, un fun (for both sides) playstyle. They're the definition on "not fun".

    @BrokenSouI said:

And that's the problematic attitude most people share. "LOL nerf them to the ground so I never have to play them again !" That would be every killer if people had their way

Not true. I don't know a single survivor who wanted Billy nerfed or thought Nurse needed that blink change.

Whats the difference? Those killers were actually fun to play against. Twins are mind numbingly dull. Oh you beat Victor and kicked him? He's back in 6 seconds, go do it again.

  • It should have been hits above 20 meters or so insta down.

    Reward good players.

Despite the massive nerfs, the worst huntress in the world can still instadown by just Bloodlusting behind you and getting an unmissable hit.

  • Devs probably played against Twins for the first time and realised what a complete ######### show they'd created.

  • I feel like most of my games the key holder is usually the weakest player. The one who makes the dumbest plays and lets the team down.

  • @RiskyKara said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RS5VFTE46IQC/image.png

They keyed out at 2 Gens left.

This kind of matchmaking happens a lot. I consider this a solid damn win, but even them trash talking aside this was hugely stacked against me from the word go. I had to sweat mega hard and play dirty to even get any kills.

So you use your psychic powers before searching for a match to determine if they have a key?

  • @bubbabrotha said:

We are getting a RESIDENT EVIL CHAPTER tomorrow and you are still arguing about the same ######### thats been settled a million times. I hate this place.

I'm less hyped than I thought I'd be. Probably because Blight is the only killer I've truly enjoyed since before Deathslinger.

Will we get a map? If not that sucks but if we do it'll just be another ######### Hawkins probably.

Will the killer be fun to play? Hopefully but they'll probably be either a no counterplay no fun allowed killer or Trickster 2.0.

Whats to stop them from hacking to a mill over and over again?

Because its server side now. Or at least they claim it to be. They could easily set up limitations like finding the max possible bp per game and ban anyone that gets more in one burst.

Yes in the archives it stated that her friend used Her grandmas magic symbols to pass school but it killed her teacher and the symbols killed Lisa’s friend. It wasn’t good cause the lore focused more on Lisa’s friend then her herself they never mentioned the cannibals or how she became the Hag it was lame

This and the Trappers story leading to more questions than answer is why I stopped caring about the rift stories completely.

  • @gatsby said:

Since Hag has been released, mechanics to prevent camping with a Killer's Power (i.e. Pyramid Head's dissolving trails near gens, gates and hooks) and power use cooldowns (Spirit, Blight, Pyramid Head, Legion, Twins etc.)

Maybe Hag should get updated a little bit?

I think they should just have a larger minimum distance from hooks. She'll still be boring as hell to play against but less frustrating.

  • It'll come soon. REmember that Bhvr works on updates at a snails pace.

  • I feel like I never see Billy and Hag anymore. I don't mind Hag as I find her incredibly boring but miss Billy.

  • I used to get a ton of hate on xbox.

Switche to PC and have had maybe 2 bad post game chat convos. Pc players seem a lot more chill about losing.

They capped the BP bc of hackers. But yh i think that they dont make a higher cap bc of the grind, too. The amount of grind that is acceptable from their view is too much imo. The grind must be really insane (old one perk per bloodweb/rift) that they do something against it.

Back then you could edit bp by changing a file. Now its all server side. They could remove it if they wanted and easily track it.

And agreed on the grind. They really need to remove perk levels, its absurd trying to get the perks you want on a character now.

  • Pro tip

Stop creating win conditions for other players. You have no idea if the survivor went in wanting to escape, farm teammates or just complete a challenge and troll the killer. Its good to make your own but creating them for other players in your head is silly.

A survivor doesn't need to escape to win a pip and you don't need to kill everyone.

Also stop getting mad at an animation.

  • @TicTac said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2208971#Comment_2208971

Yh but right now almost everyone would reach red ranks then. Now its only the bad player who play a lot.

True. I think most players would still opt in. It's just that I don't enjoy the lower rank killer games. That and I don't play survivor as often anymore so the resets make Solo so much more painful.

  • I really wish they'd make rank reset opt out.

  • The devs are aware that the addictive grind is the only thing keeping a lot of players online. Why do you think they stopped doing so many double BP weekends and capped the BP?

  • @Yords said:

While I do think Wraith is much stronger now, I still think he is on the weaker side of killers. The main thing that really helped him was his map mobility, but his true invisibility was definitely an underrated buff. His mobility allows his hit and run playstyle to work very well especially since he no longer needs addons for it to work. The true invisibility allows him to actually be more stealthy and have an easier approach. I have a say in this because I do play quite a lot of Wraith.

Wraith is still just old Wraith because he can still easily be countered by pallets, windows, and just proper positioning from survivors when he starts to uncloak.

With his stronger addons such as the "all-seeing, blood", "bone clapper", and silent clapper addon he becomes much better, but even with "all-seeing, blood" and the "bone clapper, he is still reasonably easy to deal with. You could argue that he is very strong with the silent clapper, but that is his strongest addon so of course he would be. His base kit is suitable, but needs more work done. A rework would do him nicely, not just a few buffs. I think he should get a new mechanic to his power that has something to do with him ringing his bell, but of course still keeping the simplicity of Wraith.

Then you have his other addons, and I feel that they just aren't that great for the most part. They are mostly just for fun, but just how is kicking things faster while you are cloaked going to help you? Then there are his windstorm addons, they were nerfed and for a good reason, but I feel that they are no longer that useful unless you stack two of them. I think they could use a small buff.

But the main thing that really counters Wraith hard are safe windows and positioning. If you are at a long wall jungle gym or just a safe pallet and the survivor runs around, forcing you to uncloak in a more inconvenient, then they loop you normally (which you should do your best not to do). You will eventually hit them, but not before they waste a huge amount of your time.

His speed allows him to switch off targets very fast, but he really needs the ambush hit or else he will suffer, and this can be made difficult with perks such as SB or DH which most survivors at higher ranks use.

So yeah, the new Wraith is objectively better, but he is still pretty weak against survivors healing and playing smart.

I think he's in a good spot. I don't think we need another Freddy situation where a mostly braindead killer (I love Wraith but his skill ceiling is very low lets face it) is overwhelmnigly strong thanks to utiltiy.

He got the mobility buff he's needed for years (finally) and along the way he even got a nice anti loop for the less strong tiles. Buff his anti loop any further and you outright invalidate a killer like Doctor or Demos powers.

Then you'll like my little addendum even better, I realised I forgot to finish the train of thought on "hypocrisy".

I find it very obvious nowadays when someone is talking from the opinion of exclusively being a survivor/killer player in regards to balance. There's a lot of obvious tells so I just ignore it. Imo, if you almost exclusively play one side your opinion on balance is meaningless.

"BBQ is too strong, wait what do you mean Dead Hard is too strong/Stop genrushing me, no I wont stop playing Ruin/undying Spirit, etc". After a while I just tune it out.

  • Eh, Wraiths always been kind of bland to play against as he was always just a basic M1. I don't hate him but I don't love him. That said I've always enjoyed playing him.

I don't think he's OP or anything, not even remotely close against a half decent team, he's just kinda meh.

He's not scary when he catches you off guard like Micheal or something because of the stomping and the bell. Just kinda 'meh'.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2208890#Comment_2208890

Which means that you physically didn't have the time to win against vaguely decent survivors that didn't take 12 minutes to do the generators in a trial with a killer that refuses to snowball map pressure.

It isn't hypocritical to not enjoy going against the things you use or that you are forced to do. In fact, someone's opinion carries much more weight if they have extensive experience on both sides of the argument.

That last paragraph... YOU CAN'T SAY THAT HERE!

  • @TicTac said:

It doesnt matter what other think. In this game everyone has his own win conditions.

  • @Northener1907 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2207135#Comment_2207135

I do not think devs are mad like that. Deathslinger nerf is imposible, he is balanced killer. And i think he needs buffs, him add-ons trash so add-ons changes would be good.

Deathslingers chase is too strong but his map pressure is too weak.

He doesn't need buffs or nerfs, he needs a rework. Same with Spirit. I don't want her nerfed so I never see her again. I want matches to be fun, tense and fair.

As someone playing killer for close to maybe 5 years now, when I haven't played Spirit more than once in over a year because she makes the game so easy I'm actively not having fun, that's a problem.

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

Title. People are learning to play him now that he isn't buggy and doesn't have ankle cam. As the Killer plyers get better with him, Survivors will start getting brutally crushed and eventually he will be as hated as any other common, reasonably-strong Killer.

This is how the DbD gameplay cycle goes:

    1. Killer comes out and is trash-tier
    2. Killer gets forgotten for six months to a year
    3. Killer gets buffed
    4. Killer players start playing and get good.
    5. Survivors decide they hate the Killer because Survivors can't stand losing. Killer gets nerfed and is never played again.
    6. Another old Killer gets buffed back to relevance and a new Trash Tier Killer is released or created from overnerfing.
    7. Repeat step 1
    1. Only morons thought Blight was bad week 1.
    2. blight was in the top 3/4 of most tier lists by lots of killer players
    3. I wouldn't call a QOL issue like his FOV change a buff as his power has not changed, outside of his power he's now a basic M1.
    4. There were already a TON of good Blights. The problem is a lot of killer want easy wins and instead play Spirit and Freddy or Leatherface thanks to their lower skill ceilings.
    5. There are survivors that will hate any killer that is strong, and there are survivors that won't. This will never change.
  • They need to just pull a mordhau and make his turning fixed and not affected by DPI. It would literally fix it in its entirety and put everyone on equal ground.

  • @Jay_Whyask said:

    "Hey look, it's Blight... Again."

    GOOD

You want to go back to Nurse and Spirit? Feeling a little nostalgic for some basement bubba and forever Freddy? I hope all of my matches are against The Blight, hearing the meaty whacks of his puss filled body slamming against the cold dusty walls of this infernal prison sounds like mfing Mozart.

This. Why are people upset about going against an actually strong killer that HAS counterplay? Nusrse and Spirit are strong because they get a free pass to bypass entire game mechanics, Blight is still constrained by the games rules but is fair and strong.

  • Jesus christ thats ugly as sin.

  • Bhvr designed a fatally flawed killer.

This happens quite often now, why are you shocked?

  • Spirit or Slinger for me. Spirit I pretty much only have fun if the Spirit is bad as that's the only time it isn't a one sided guessing game. A shotr phasing Spirit is basically an instant loss as a solo player.

Slinger is just pointy and shooty and I find that kinda dull.

Ghostface but only because his detection is so bad, I do love VSing stealth killers as they keep me on edge but the detection is aggravating.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Hey, I think I may be the #1 Spirit hater on the forums.

Yeah I play her, and got her to P350, and do so just to prove you don't need much skill considering I play with a broken headset and I'm very badly visually impaired. Usually I run Stridor, Corrupt, Pop, BBQ, and use yellow or green duration + speed add-ons. Easy games all around.

I don't play her very often but it takes me 2 games to get into the swing of playing her, if that.

I like that saying "this killer that has zero actual interaction in chases and is incredibly strong and not healthy for the game" is 'hating'. Heck, I stopped playing her because she made the game so easy that I wasn't having fun anymore.

People are killing themselves on the hook against Spirit because they know how little actual input they have in chases and therefore aren't able to use their skills and have fun. Some of the users on this forum, man....

I played my first game as Spirit in close to 2 years a few weeks ago, pretty much won the match from my second chase and 3 suicides on hook. I think that says all there is to say.

  • @eSPiYa said:

That's what I know too. Even blood trails unless it has a certain item. The only thing the spirit should notice are the scratch marks, moans, and bumping. There're no scratches because I didn't run, no moans because I'm not injure and I got the maxed level iron will, and there's too little chance of bumping with each other.

Her bumping was removed a long time ago. chances are she either got a lucky guess or had her volume so high she was able yo hear your footsteps/breathing with ease.

  • All auras are disabled while phasing.

  • Any insta down perk doesn't activate on powers.

  • @Okapi said:

Eveeryone not in denial knows there is a huge difference in power level between solo and SWF. And yet the devs are super slow to do anything about it. Their last 'buff' to solos was adding a totem counter to small game. Which was pointless and shows the devs don't understand the difference between solos and SWF. A totem counter should have been added to the general survivor UI, so solos should not have to use a perk to get such info when SWF doesn't need to thanks to voice chat.

Buffing solos to SWF levels with QOL survivor changes to give solos more info is the only way to fix this problem without killing DBD. It's not like the devs can give across the board nerfs to killers. considering how few people play killer regularly. Survivor queue times at peak playing hours are already long enough and the lobbies filled with mismatched ranks.

I've stopped playing survivor again simply because solo is so infuritating. The fact that you can go into a match with a teammate that has ZERO intention of even trying to survive can screw you from minute 1.

I'm just back to killer now, at least there if I lose its on me misplaying.

  • It's been pretty obvious from Blight and now Trickster that the devs are barely acknowledging controllers when designing new killers.

  • It's so funny when people try to claim "it just looks better". Yeah, sure. Making DBD look like Half Life 1 being opened on a widescreen monitor for the first time looks SO good.

  • @MadLordJack said:

So, how many of us actually play Spirit? I kind of do on very rare occasions when I want to play a killer I find kind of difficult because of all of my self-nerfs (no Stridor, no 50/50's, no standing still, etc) but still very strong. I'd probably like playing her a lot more if not for how just... Spirit-y she is.

How many others use her? Do you have any self-banned perks or add-ons, or do you just play normally whilst silently wishing she wasn't so miserable for your opponents? Do you go out of your way to be nice, or do you just play her as your guilty pleasure?

Played her for a long time but stopped cold turkey about a year ago. It got to the point where I was going perkless, red ranks and getting 3Ks minimum. Made the game boring.

in all seriousness, when you have players like myself who just straight up don't play Spirit anymore because of how easy and un-interactive she is, that's a problem.
