I think a problem with Dead Hard is that there is no middle ground. You use it for distance its supposedly overpowered, you use it to dodge hits it usually never works and make no impact on the game. So of course survivors are going to use the strategy thats most effective.
On a side note does anyone know the total distance you move with dead hard?

Here you go, one caramel ice coffee with added whip cream. Good luck in the next trial, hope that it gives you energy!
Thank you. 5/5 stars, would recommend.

I would absolutely love a caramel ice coffee with whip cream please.
When things gets stressful coffee is you best friend, and gurl things is stressful in the realm of the entity

What would you say is the easiest way to get hits
I have used it and got it to work.
The best way to get protection hits is to take a hit when the killer is carrying a survivor. Make sure you have self care and a medkit because your going to be healing alot.
-
A fellow Adam main yesss.
I now main Adam and Elodie. Used to also be claudette but there is a stigma that comes with playing her.
-
You still could technically pick them up and hope they miss the skill check. Its unlikely but still happens.
-
For me it depends on thr situation. I definitely don't do it to be toxic, once I see all available survivors are safe I leave immediately.
I stay at the exit gates in order to let the killer force me out and waste time so that my team has time to go for saves, or get to the second exit gate.
-
I like your chapter concept and perk ideas they seem interesting.

lol I might try that. Deception / Red Herring / Diversion / (cant think of a 4th one right now so maybe Kindred or Spine Chill just to make testing it out easy)
For the 4th perk I would probably put on iron will, or lucky break to make it work better while injured. Or fixated to walk to a safer position faster.

Better, but I doubt anyone would run it still.
I'm thinking of adding a increase in the amount of blood points you get for taking protected hits.
-
I propose I full rework for objects of obsession. I would suggest that it should see the killers aura for up to 3 seconds if you enter the killers terror radius and when you leave the killers terror radius it should show your aura to them for 3 seconds.
Also make it active only if your the obsession so multiple people can't use it.
Although I do like your suggestions.
-
Wouldn't the best suggestion be to just reduce the chance of getting a key from a chest? With plunderer's instinct keys have a increase to 14% chance to get a key, so reducing the chances to 10% could be better.

The irony of "Never said undying should be changed" within your "simplest and fairest fix to hex:undying" thread is comedy gold.
I will leave you to it. Good luck with your nerf thread!

Just clock out of the thread for me baby, ok?

Again the irony. Reading too deep into things then what im actually trying to say.
Never said undying should be changed.
Not that hard to read something so simple. Its just simple comprehension skills. But anything to push your narrative bro.

Again, the mental gymnastics involved in making these nightly "nerf X killer perk" threads, while also attempting to insulate themselves from criticism on the subject by claiming that they think the perk is fine and that they are just advocating for random unnamed others, is honestly kind of funny.
I think your doing mental gymnastics reading more into what im actually trying to say. The irony.
If you really don't believe in the others opinion I mentioned then maybe you should start by looking at this very thread alone for a person who really thinks it should be changed. (Spoiler it won't take long to find the person)

My favorite idea so far has been to swap attributes between Hex: Undying and Hex: Thrill of the Hunt.
Hex: Undying
When another Hex Totem is cleansed, that Hex transfers to an available Dull Totem, losing any Tokens in the process.
While Hex: Undying is active, Survivors' cleansing speed is reduced by 20/25/30%.
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
For each Dull Totem and Hex Totem remaining on the Map gain a Token.
- Gain 10% more Bloodpoints for actions in the Hunter Category for each Token.
- Gain a notification when someone starts working on a Hex Totem.
- Survivors within 2 meters of any Totem have their Aura revealed for 4/5/6 seconds.
This would make it so that Hex: Undying only works to lengthen the lifespan of totems, while Hex: Thrill of the Hunt is a Totem-based locational tool. They both protect totems, but in ways that are unique to them.
I think I would also agree with this change.

If you think its fine, then it doesnt need a change. The mental gymnastics involved in requesting a nerf to a perk you claim is ok, for some unnamed 3rd party, is just comical.
I never said I wanted it to be changed.
All I said was that it was fine for me. I even said that talks about it was wierd.
I just expressed the concerns of other peoples problems of undying. These are not necessarily own opinions.
All my post is a simple suggestion for a change if it did happen. Meaning if they were going to change it, it should be this imo. If It wasn't getting changed I wouldn't even have a problem. I would have the same opinion about undying. This is literally the only thread I'm making on undying.
I don't know what your problem is because it swebsite to me that your trying to making me into a whiny survivor main that wants to nerf everything good or advantageous about killer. I'm not so please stop.

I personally think that survivormains making nightly nerf threads about the perks that kill them most, is a little cringe.
My favorite line so far was : I think the perk is fine, but we should nerf it because some people demand change.
AKA : I want to request a nerf, but dont want to admit that its me who wants it to avoid criticism. Its some "other people" who demand the nerf, Im just the messenger.
sounds legit bro
Firstly that's not what I wrote.
Secondly the suggestion I made would change nothing. The aura read is still there so whats the problem?
Thirdly i don't have to explain myself to you. If you don't believe I think its fine then thats on you.
You shouldn't make baseless assumptions about me based on what I write.
-
Thrill of the hunt doesn't show survivors aura, it slows cleanse speed and gives a noise notification.
I know undying is fine. But for people complaining about the aura reading aspect this is the simplest and fairest change you can make without making the perk useless.
-
@gatsby said:
Honestly, I think Retribution should be buffed to have Undying's current Aura reading on top of its existing effects.
And Undying shouldn't have Aura reading at all and should give the Survivors a map wide notification when it causes a Hex to respawn so everyone knows it's in play.
But there is a reason for the aura read. Its ro monitor your dull totems as well. Since you need available dull totems in order to move the other hex totem too.
-
I think its fine but if it was changed I would say only show the persons aura when they are doing the totem and not if they walk past it.
-
I think I can understand the annoyance of dead hard for killers, and can agree to a certain extent why people want it nerfed. If it was I would probably be fine, provided that the nerf was fair and doesn't completely make it terrible.
I would say using exhaustion perks have helped me get better in chases and escaping. At first I would agree I relied on them but overtime I have gotten more skillful with them and now able to use it too its fullest potential.
-
Why don't no one like the maps being dark? I think it's good as it helps promote a stealthy play style.
-
Finally someone sees the great uses of wake up and visionary.
-
Please don't do this. All you would be doing is perpetuating a cycle of toxicity and you would be contributing to the very problem your complaining about. I'm sorry this happened to you.
-
I have had a pig game like that. Its terreble because I don't think it's report able.

Territorial imperative already shows the aura of survivors who go into the basement, and self-unhooks are pretty rare to begin with
I also agree it needs a full rework, something to move it away from the basement.
@AhoyWolf said:
Imo it still wouldn't be good at all, it needs a full rework to be useful... Also isn't Territorial Imperative a bit too similar?
Actually now that I think about it here is another idea.
Your fervent care for hooks pleases the entitiy greatly.
When carrying a survivor some hooks will be shown to you in a white aura.
When a survivor is hooked on those hooks they have a 10/20/30% faster entitiy progression.
Survivors hooked on these hooks have a 50% less of a chance to self unhook.
How is this?
-
@AhoyWolf said:

No territorial imperative shows the auras of survivors for 3 seconds when your really far away from basement.
I wanted to keep the theme of basement hooks, but if you think about it any perk center around basement would naturally be not too useful.
-
That seems like a good idea and would make things more intense. I just have to ask how fast would the healing regressing be? Also wouldn't you have to slightly change how much other things effect healing speeds?

Sure why not.
-
Good luck on your chapter idea. I have a few perk ideas that I have made on the forum if you need inspiration.
-
Where did you find this?
Anyways I think this is good and a step in the right direction in order to make the game more balanced.
Edit: now that I think about it I don't think I should believe it. Where are you getting this information. If your not getting it from a credible source I have no reason to believe what you have.

@lagosta said:
Oh, Jesus no. The switch option just renders perk related to gen aura useless in the beginning of the game, and we already have search for totems that are in very hidden spots in the new/reworked maps. Not to mention that the devs would have to make perks compatible with that.
If you really want to increase the time to do objectives, instead adding new, make use of existing unused resources like dull totems. IDK, make that every totem increases the time to complete a gen by 4 seconds. That way in the beginning of the match the gens take 100 seconds to complete and give us a reason to invest time searching and cleansing totems.
@bobateo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/216970/suggestions-to-fix-generator-speeds
Making corrupt basekit could work, but I would say that it'd need to be three random gens, not just the ones furthest from the killer.
With the switches, I agree with the guy who mentioned the totems. Undying/Ruin would have to get a complete rework and I don't think the killers should know where these switches are unless they are placed as far apart as possible on the maps. Otherwise you have the doors/hatch in close proximity situation and the game is over before it even begins. And if survivors manage to get a switch or two flipped, well, now they find out they have to go a five totem hunt. Killer flips off whatever switches they managed to open before that. Lastly if any of those three switches are close together, the killer can camp them. It'd be a fun thing to try, but I think it needs some definite tweaking.
You guys are right about the switch ideas. It needs more tweaks.

While they are crutches, they also have counters and aren't going to help you win the video game. They aren't an "on command" free escape.
You can't win. You literally have zero chance. Stop.
Also just because someone uses something allegedly that doesn't have counters doesn't mean they can complain about anything.
I guess killer who play spirt + stridor with the most overpowered addona also have no right to complain. Since ,again by your logic, it doesn't have counters.
All in all its awful to take away a person voice because they use or like a perk. That is awful.

Which is why you only see newbies running things like Windows of Opportuntiy and Visionary. Which is why you see *bad survivors* who don't know how to loop properly running dead hard.
Meaning that those perks are crutches. Meaning by your logic you claimed before they also have no right to complain.

WIndows of opportunity has a counter - it's called map awareness. Anyone who knows tiles doesn't need it. Same with visionary. Deja Vu isn't in the meta, so moot point. Undying is a hex perk. It has a counter, and multiple perks/items/addons to facilitate said counter to it.
And no, a dead hard, for DISTANCE, has zero counter.
You can repeat the same argument all you want but doesn't change the fact that may argument is logically sound.

By what you just said that means its a crutch perk. Anyone who know tiles or generator spawns don't need those perks. That means anyone who does not know them doe need it. Meaning its a crutch perk. I'm using your logic here so. Also just because deja vu is not meta doesn't mean it's not a crutch, again by the same logic.
For your point about dead harding for distance has no counter. We're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

Not the same thing. Try harder.
Ok What about windows of opportunities, visionary, and Deja vu, undying. These are all crutch perks if you think about it. I guess players who use these perks have no voice or complaints.

I never said that. I said it used to be OP in its original state. It was borderline game breaking in fact, I stopped playing because of it and had to wait until the nerf to start playing killer again.
I have no problem with your first and third changes; but reducing the protection hits required I feel would be too much on top of them. So long as that part of it remains the same, I don't see any problem with improving the perk.
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1848803#Comment_1848803
I mean it used to be OP as hell and all it did is promote and reward the annoying "Hook swarming" that the killer had to deal with. It was obnoxious and awful, I would rather the perk remain useless than ever become like that again.
Making the perk better wouldn't make it OP, if the developers make their moves correctly! Actually, there's a lot of safe moves you can do with the perk: Don't be afraid of taking risks, the developers have a PTB for a reason — Nothing OP will make it past the PTB.
- Completely remove the aura reading penalty after a successful activation
- Reducing the protection hits down to two
- Making the Endurance effect apply Deep Wounds after a successful activation
I don't want to go crazy here, but making the perk less dependent on an entire build, item, add-ons, and SWF would see it get more use. You even said you seen it trigger once out of all your killer games! 😅
Edit: Added your idea ▶️
What about instead of protection hits you do safe unhooks?

It is fair. Exhaustion is the single most problematic thing in DBD (aside from Head on and Adrenaline - since both either take setup or have to be earned). And no - Dead Hard users have zero valid complaints. Period. You do not, ever, under any circumstances get to complain about unfair gameplay, killer builds, killer addons etc when you use E to outplay. When you can learn to play the video game without needing the E crutch, you can complain.
Thats a Terrible way of thinking. Everyone has the right to complain about anything in this game. Weather or not they use dead hard is irrelevant. By your logic do killers who use noed not have a right to complain because, in your words, needs a crutch.
-
@JimbusCrimbus said:

Again - anyone using dead hard has zero right to complain about anything. Ever. That's my standpoint. E key users (or whatever button it is on consoles) have no valid opinions/gripes while they use E to outplay.
I don't think that's fair. People who use dead hard have complaints just as valid as people who don't. Why should a person not have the right to complain because they use a certain perk?
-

I mean, generally, yeah. Cause they are usually the first ones to complain about "omg killers do this git gud". You have zero right to complain while using "E to outplay". About literally anything.
Sure some survivors act like that but not everyone. I use dead hard( its a must have in one of my builds) but I don't act like that and don't complain a lot about killers.

Too weak how? I know their were some collision issues but other than that he seems the same as the PTB.
Also weren't there an addon that made it so that It showed survivor aura for 16 seconds or something whenever he bumped into a wall? Isn't that getting fixed.
