Anyone who genuinely says boons are perfectly balanced has no idea what they're talking about. Boons should have a timer so that killers don't have to snuff them out. I'd say 60/70/80 seconds feels fair. Tack on a relighting limit of 2 per totem, for a total of 10 times per trial, to make using them more strategic.
It makes no sense to put them on a timer and limit the number of uses coupled on with the downsides they already have. Either do one or the other not both

The perks are balanced. The only thing needed is make it so other healing perks and items don't stack with CoH. Done.
This.
Why the devs didn't do this I the beginning is beyond me

I'm down to join with anyone in the NA afternoons, Xbox. I think @Pulsar and @Darkskies are the only two I've watched stream from here, but we haven't SWF yet. And Darkskies left us to our fate a while back and rarely spreads her joy on the forums these days.
I'm on xbox. I could play when your available

@idek120 (I think)
@mightymat17 (I think)
I don't do comms though so I didn't speak to any of them.
Killer main btw.
I'm want to try and swf without comms. Do you want to swf in the future when you're able too?

Yes, i created a post where I'm looking for people to play with. since then we have remained friends.
I'm looking for new people to be friends with even outside the game.
Sadly because the situation with the game right now with the hackers, I'm not playing until they do something about it.
If you are interested in keeping in touch, please let me know.
You seem nice. I could swf with you if your interested.

Honestly, I wish they'd just make a character who uses they/them pronouns (without that being their entire character).
I think it's fine that character sexualities are mostly left vague.
I think this is good too
-
I'm all for representation in the game. We should definitely have someone from the lgbtq community but we shouldn't just make one for the sake of diversity only and they should be really careful to not make them being trans or non binary their whole personality.
All in all in for it but please be careful when making one
-
Please don't buff hag she is annoying enough as is

Good. At least Mettle of man is getting some value

I could play. I would consider myself decent

Honestly, I think it's perfect as it is. It might be useful for solo queue, and people are prone to missing skill checks because of console optimization and performance in general. Oh and it'll be useful for SWFs if you're playing with friends who just got DBD!

I think it's fine, for an easy survivor, it will be nice for beginners.
I guess but the percentage of people how play dbd for the first time is low isn't it? I imagine the majority of people won't see to much use of it

I’m not a fan of perks and add-ons “balancing out” with bloodpoints. I’d much rather have them give tangible effects that impact the match itself. I’d just as soon everything like bloodpont bonuses in BbQ and Chili and We’re Gonna Live Forever and Padded Jaws add-on, etc, be replaced with something that buffs how you do in the match. Offerings that give bonus bp are ok since offerings are mostly just doing that anyway.
So no, take off bloodpoint bonuses from perks and add-ons, replace them with something else. Then if people aren’t getting enough BP just increase the base BP earned per match to compensate.
That Is an acceptable solution

I’m curious though, how exactly would it work with Shadowstep? Would you get extra BPs for escaping a chase in the boon zone?
Yeah. It would just be any actions you do in the range so I don't think the perk would matter
-
@GannTM said:
I wouldn’t mind that tbh. Anything to reduce the grind would be fantastic, especially since survivors get way less compensation in BPs than killers.
Honestly they should have done this already. We need them bloodpoints

@StarLost said:

- What? As far as I know, it doesn't actually prolong the chase at all. As you are blinding me, I'm breaking the pallet. If it does, then it's a tiny gain. It's BM because it's entirely unavoidable, and the 'blind' effect is still known to give people headaches (it certainly does for me). Also, where have I berated anyone? For the record: proxy camping and 'tunneling' (a word that nobody can even really agree on what it means) aren't toxic. Facecamping is pretty toxic, which is why BHVR are adding that new mechanic they mentioned.
- I don't think I've ever seen a killer give the survivors problems in postgame regarding addons, barring something like 3x BNP, an RPD offering with multiple further hooks offerings. On the other hand, I get it maybe once in every 10 games on killer, no matter if I've brought 2 yellows or two iris.
Also, geez mate. Lighten up. It was a pretty tongue-in-cheek post.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2629563#Comment_2629563
Thanks, these are good answers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2629594#Comment_2629594
Ah, the BP gain does make sense. I'm still not sold on it being better than just dropping the pallet and running, but I'm hardly an expert survivor (and at best I'm a solidly intermediate killer). It is bloody annoying though, and if it happens multiple times in a game that's probably my DbD for the day and I'll have to go take a painkiller.
I'll never complain at people for bringing addons/offerings. At worst, I may just AFK the match out (see: multiple further hook addons+Haddonfield/RPD/Badham, or an RPD addon where people are deliberately abusing that bloody office infinite).
1. I have seen people who blind the killer have it prolong the chase further as well as used as a sneaking tactic to escape the killer while blinded thus making it a strategy to use. And if it's a strategy it shouldn't be considered bm. I also don't think the fact that its unavoidable makes it bm. Furthermore its unfair to expect survivors to know that blinding gives you a headache. That's not there intention for blinding you so I don't think it's fair to say it's bming. It was a but unfair of me to say you specifically berate people so I'm sorry for that. But I have seen killers berate survivors for using tactics in their favor similar to how killers get berated for camping and tunneling. I agree they not toxic I never said they were toxic.
My question for killer is why is it that whenever survivors do anything it's considered toxic or bm?
2. I have seen killers complain about items and addons. Maybe not too much after the match but in other places like the forums. Do Please don't imply only survivors complain about addons
So I still ask why is it that when survivors complain about addons its bad but when killers complain about addons and items it's fine.
Sorry if I come off rude but these are legitimate questions I have for killers similar to how you have legitimate questions for survivors
-
Please do not generalize every survivor. I'm not like this and I don't want Spirt gutted.
Also waving it off as them just wanting spirit gutted seems a bit harsh. I still think some survivors are making legitimate complaints
-
Ok I have a few complaints about 2 questions that you asked that you can answer from a survivor main. I'm not going to answer the other questions because someone has already answered them and they are my same answers
5. Flashlighting at a pallet stun is not BM. It's a legitimate tactic used to help prolong chases. Why do you killer mains think that everything the survivors do is bm? Do you not find it a bit hypocritical how you berate survivors who say that camping and tunneling is toxic even though they are legitimate strategies but also berate survivors for using legitimate strategies as well and saying it's bm?
10 please don't act like killers also don't complain about survivor addons. Why is it that you give a hard time for survivors who complain about addons but its fine for killer complain about survivors addons and items?
Please answer these questions as I'm really curious as these are coming from a survivor main?

@Fuzzels said:
Would allowing a killer to reignite their hexes be a good move? It would create the need for survivors to have a choice of blessing for their boons and risking the hex coming back to replace their boon, or breaking it to prevent the hex coming back but also lose out the boon placement. Would that be a fair change or could it be exploited in a way I'm not thinking of? Do you think this is something that could ever make it into the game?
I don't think it would do anything. With the time it takes to bless a hex totem it would be a waste to do so. Even now it's a waste of time to do so uts more efficient to just cleanse the totem
-
I personally don't want them nerfed but if they were to be changed I would put them on a token system. 3 tokens max and everytime the perk is successfully used a token is taken. When they are out of tokens they permanently have the exhaustion status effect .
Although I definitely agree with what your saying
-
I don't want iron will nerfed its one of the only way to stealth in this game.
-
I'm not sure. I tried it once but I wasn't able to take time. I know it definitely works with deliverence.
-
I have 3 ideas for boons
1. A boon that gives you extra bloodpoints
2. A boon that helps remove negative status effects
3. A boon that help revel auras
-
I swear they read my mind because I had the same exact idea for a perk I overcome

What nerf? His addon changes were mostly good.
- BUFF: Larry's Remains: Solving time increased by 2 seconds (was 4 seconds)
- BUFF: Liquified Gore: Solving time increased by 1 second (was 2 seconds)
- BUFF: Chatterer's Tooth: Undetectable status now lasts 25 seconds (was 12 seconds)
If you’re talking about Engineer’s Fang, they didn’t say they were nerfing the aspect that injures healthy survivors:
- Engineer's Fang: When hitting an injured Survivor with a possessed chain, only 1 additional chain will spawn
Also I thought people agreed that engineers fang addon was overpowered?
-
We got a new boon totem and map yay!!!

Its 4v1. The only way to make that fair is the 1 has to be stronger than the 4 because they are out numbered. If you were playing mortal kombat and it was 4 fighters vs just you, would that be fair? No it wouldn't but if you had say 4x as much health as them it might be considered fair.
If you were playing cod and it was you against 4 people. Would you want to keep playing after that?
In this game it is asymmetrical. The killer is alone. They need to be powerful for the game to function.
So much powerful that the 4 have no chance against the one?

Killer is out numbered and is suppose to be the power role. Hex totems are gone for good once cleansed. Plus they tend to spawn right next to your objective in plain sight. You control the totems more than killer. You can remove all totems before noed comes into play. Killer can stomp your totems as much as he wants and it wont ever truly get rid of them. Boon totems can be relit an infinite amount of times. Hex perks sometimes require hooks to power up before they become effective. Boon totems do not require any warm up. I fail to see how killer needs to meet you half way when your version of totem perks is superior. The killer is suppose to be stronger than you. This mentality that 1 survivor should be equal to the killer is whats unhealthy for the game.
Please explain what you mean by "power role" because to me it seems like people who say this just want to completely shift the balance of power to the killer side making it impossible to do anything as survivors with little effort and disregard balance at all.

By saying this, you basically are saying 90% of survivor mains are ridiculous. How? Because these survivor mains are the people who enjoy complaining about NOED and saying that it's "unfair". If you couldn't tell, I think NOED is a good and well-balanced perk.
They are ridiculous too. Don't mistake me for defending survivors saying the same things.
As a survivor main I feel noed is a fine perk too.
-
I hoping for them too. We should have gotten 3 boon perks with Mikaela. I also hope they are balanced and fair

@PigMainBigBrain said:
Technically the game isn't supposed to be "Even".
Its A-Symmetrical meaning the killer should at all times, absolutely, without a doubt be a serious risk to be around. With the caveat of that 1 killer having to overcome 4 survivors. You have a full team of people vs 1 person. Its not supposed to be even.
The problem of this simple concept goes in the trash when the devs allow too much power creep on either the killer or survivor side. On top of that, this game has a huge roster. Having 1 killer be too strong is easily fixable because its 1 object 1 ruleset being adjusted. BUT. Having survivors power creep too far doesn't just ruin 1 dynamic, it ruins matches across the board for that huge killer roster forcing you to re-adjust 24+ elements of the game instead of the 1. AKA you end up like Evolve Stage 2. I bring extra emphasis to this game as much as I can because that game didn't have to die, but it did because the developers let the hunters side power creep harder than they could make adjustments to monsters fast enough. So by the time we got to the point where the game went free to play it was already so messy that nobody wanted to play monster anymore. People stopped buying expansions, stopped buying monsters and skins, queue times went up to the moon, more people started quitting, then people stopped buying hunter skins, and it eventually got to the point where the game couldn't keep itself up financially and that was the end of it.
It didn't die because of greed, it didn't die because the concept wasn't attractive to players.....it died because it was developed into death. It killed itself with its own adjustments to "balance" by power creeping itself to death. And eventually lost sight of its original vision. And I bring it up, because this can happen to ANY of these Asymetrical games including DBD....
I disagree. Yes its an asymmetrical game but that doesn't mean that one side should have too much power and completely dominate one side. The equality comes when 1 killer is equal to 4 survivors not 1 killer completely destroying 4 survivors with very little effort and vice versa. That is and should be even
-

No, I want it to be fun first and foremost. Balance is irrelevant
Buy doesn't fun come with when the game is balanced?

Increase the time and I probably won't mind

Premonition. I have been advocating for it to be buffed for so long
-
Please stop using that stupid word abuse. It has the same feel as someone using the word Toxic.
Using a perk isn't abusing it and if you think so your ridiculous.
-
The answer to all of those is depends on if the match was engaging and fun.
-
Silent swf anyone
-
Unpopular opinion: I want more boon totem perks
We should have gotten 3 boon totem perks from Mikaela then 2 perks and 1 really bad totem perk
-
I love playing stealthy. Quick side note maybe it's just me but i feel stealth is not really viable without iron will
-
Interesting I will do this and get back to you

As a survivor main. I agree with this
