The solution is simple.
You really believe she is OP? Show us. Take her for a spin. Play her and start winning most of your games ...
Or more realistically, get quickly stomped by good survivors who put up the work to learn how to counter a Nurse.
Learn what they do (beside clicking, laughing at you and tea-bagging you) and try to do the same.
Hint to improve : throwing a tantrum isn't the answer.

They recently said in a Q&A that a replay system is impossible with the games current infrastructure.
It's hard for me to understand why.
It only needs to tell which variation of what map it is playing in (pretty basic)
And then it only need to store the position, direction and action from each actor during each tick.
I would first be stored in a memory file (so no peeking) and then flushed to disk at the end of the game.
Replaying would be consistent in using the stored values for the actors. Something pretty easy to do with UE4.

Maybe appreciate the ones that don't a little bit more.
From my experience most people don't and still treat them like dirt all the same.
So don't be surprised when at some point on kind of killer is suddenly extinct.
Tonight, I've decided to change my style from chases and kills to camp. One cheater during my first game, multiple boons on the maps of the matches that followed, an RPD map offering ... I've finally snapped.
I'm getting a better kill ratio than with the Nurse and I'm doing almost no effort for it. I got two 2k, three 3k and three 4k. (and a lot of salt).
Why do I always chose the most difficult path? I mean, it works in life but there is no point doing that in a glorified party game.
So yes, it's boring. And this time the word doesn't mean "too strong for me" like it usually does in these forums.
On another hand : wins. (Some may even say it's "skilled" play.)
Bubba, of course, with Insidious, Tinkerer, Bamboozle and NOED (because if you chose to play like a bastard, you go all the way)
To be honest, it's kind of hard. I don't really enjoy killing survivors like this. On another hand, it works so well one could say it's the most efficient technique available. I'm curious to see what will happen against the next full meta SWF.

Player from the Middle East, so sometimes the game drops me in EU servers and sometimes East Asia.
Marco killers are rampant in Asian servers, you can tell before playing by seeing the killer readying and unreadying every 5 seconds in the lobby. Leave the lobby if you see this to avoid being held hostage at a game.
You cannot be held hostage that way.
Do gens and leave. Two doors and a hatch are at your disposition.

Narrow minded is putting it lightly. There’s a difference, if I was narrow minded, I wouldn’t argue with you because I wouldn’t care. But if I was narcissistic I would argue with you which is what some people do here
Maybe "self-centered" would be more accurate?

Since when is a killer merciful?
Survivors never are!
If they die it's just a game.
Besides if things went the other way they would probably teabag.
Camped, tunneled or teabagged just don't take offence.
If things are not going well as killer I will camp or tunnel.
I don't teabag unless it's to distract.
I find teabagging at the gate pretty lame so I don't do it myself.
You kind of changed my mind about a few things.
I'm tired of playing the hard way to just end up being gen-rushed and having to stomp on boons.
I've played a few games in a way I would call disgusting and it's giving me 2k to 4k for very little effort. (And some salt)
I wonder how many skilled games like these I will have.
-
In the current state of the game, tunneling should be the go-to for every killer in every game.
The rare few times I'm trying a killer I can't handle properly (e.g. Oni) I'm getting against the typical gens-before-friends, parallel gens players protected by multiple CoH, shadow step and exponential. Tunneling is the only way to get kills.

No.
It just needs a life span you, get 3 charges per bones then the bones turn to dust.
Killer's dont care about how much it heals or how fast, they care that it has no lifespan. Imagine if Killers could reapply Ruin or Noed at will.
Survs would call it op and busted.
Limited charges, destroyable, anything but what we have now.
-
The last one alive. I'm not playing favorites.
edit: That being said, the pink bunny is more likely to die. Way too easy to spot.
-
It usually takes weeks for a ticket to translate to a ban.
Some of my cheaters (the ones I remembered) got banned after a month to six weeks.
-
What the servers should do is to kick anybody with a bad ping.
It seems to affect other player's game (or only the other team, or maybe it's only when a survivor lags that the killer's game gets clunky)
Yesterday for the second time I was against someone with a ping spiking at 1080ms.
-
Against weak survivors, very. I'll try to distribute the pain, allow unhooks and generators to be done and even some flashlights. But "thanks" to the MMR I'll still end up killing three and giving one hatch.Against good survivors, if I get 3 kills I'm likely to give the hatch to the last one. There are a few behaviors that'll push me to kill him though. Not helping your team, hiding all game, generally being a bad teammate has to be discouraged. There is no premeditation though : the one that I'll let live is basically the last one I'm about to down. (Sometimes survivors complain the one who got hatch wasn't "worthy", like if it was a recompense.)Also, if a good survivor was particularly cocky against one of my weakest killer, I'll kill him with great satisfaction.
...
edit: Something that didn't occurred to me until a couple of games ago. If I'm going against a group of trolls with at least one cheater, I may exterminate the next few groups of survivors ruthlessly. Mori may be involved at some point.
-
No, this works perfectly fine. You missed, you eat the downtime.
-
Play the Nurse.
See how actually good survivors stomp on you and tea-bag on the exit line.
Try to do the same (minus the tea-bag part, that's childish), if you have the skill.
Come back here and tell us how "OP" you felt. 😂

Midwich, The Game and RPD multi-floor maps. Other maps are outdoor maps.
Multi-floor has nothing to do with being indoor or outdoor. Ceiling <-> Floor.
It's about having to look for the boon on a bigger area because there are ... floors.
The worst case is when to reach that second floor one has to walk a long distance. (Ironworks for an example)

From the top of my head, at least 10 groups. Midwich, The Game, Dead Dawg, RPD, Ironworks, Eyrie of Crows, Haddonfield, Badham Preschool, The Temple of Purgation, Red Forest.

Decent? You have to be in area of boon, killer should not hear boon's sound and killer should leave you on ground. And then you can pick up yourself. One of the best perks for sure.
Situational. Boons are a PITA on multi-floor maps.

they changed old Ruin because it was punishing new players for being new and harly affected experienced players. it wasnt changed because it was "overused", it was changed because it was unhealthy for the game.
also, they didnt nerf Ruin. it is arguably stronger than it has been prior to its changes - at the very least it is significantly more consistent due to it no longer being 100% reliant on RNG, nor avoidable entirely by gentapping. it also affects all users the same, no matter their skill level AND allows the Killer to directly influence its effects based on how well they play.
Stronger, I wouldn't say. Better, for the game, yes.

You are intentionally doing deranking for some reason, and also even 1k can actually raise your rank up depends on situation.
Also, finishing a match "fast" is detrimental for MMR afaik, you need to play longer to trick MMR system to think "it was a fair match".
Either I don't understand what you are saying, either you didn't understood what I've written.
In summary : I do not want to derank. I do not like to massacre poor lambs. The MMR forces me to kill 3 and give one hatch. In essence I'm forced to "try-hard". (Whereas I would rather try-hard not killing them too fast)
-
1 _ Once you have used Plaid Flannel once to see how the distance moves, never use it again.
2 _ Don't ever use any addon. Especially not the powerful ones (recharge, distance, charges)
3 _ First thing you want to do is to blink everywhere. The survivors on the map are only a distraction, you do not care about them.
- These machines in the field? Blink to land inside them.
- These metal stairs outside or inside a building? Blink and land on them.
- That small blue room on top in that building? Blink to land inside it from the outside of the building as well as the inside.
- ...
All this from many angle and distances. You need to be consistent.
4 _ If you get bored of this, try to chase survivors. Don't try to win, just chase and try to hit them.
Once you have done 3 and 4 for quite a while (I'm speaking several days) and your finger is doing the distance job for you, you can start real chases.
Your build: full chase. You want BBQ, Nurse calling, Infectious Fright, Spies from the Shadow, Bitter Murmur, ... you get the idea.
There are two schools:
- Prediction
- Reaction
Reaction amounts to using the first blink to land close to the survivor, usually to the last position you saw. Then use the second blink to home in.
Prediction requires more game sense as it requires you to blink where you expect the survivor will be.
Ideally you want to mix the two.
Remember good survivors will look at you and guess your next move so fake it from time to time.
That's about it.
Good luck and welcome to the family.
PS: do not use Shadowborn.

5,000 survivor players for every killer player? Uh, that can’t be right…
Assuming a round-robin and 7 minutes per game (5 to 10 usually as far as I'm concerned).
And assuming 7 minutes of queue to simplify.
There must be two groups of survivors for one killer so a 8/1 ratio.
All this is grossly simplified but only by a small factor. I don't believe for one second the 5000/1 ratio.

Some of the datamining posts I have seen on Reddit showed up to 5,000+ survivors waiting in Q per killer during NA east primetime. That's why the Q times are like 10-15 minutes at peak hours. I don't think it would be "just a minute or two"
Indeed, it takes about 5 to 10 seconds.
Side question : what is it with survivors and Dead Dawg? I got the map 5 times tonight.

Lets face it, Spies can be better without becoming broken. Wouldn't you rather get a spies notification without hearing a loud explosion noise that's no different from when someone fast vaults a window, fast enters a locker, or fails a skill check? and also wouldn't you rather that damn black circle that surrounds all of the spies notifications, doesn't impede your aura reading? and wouldn't you want the crows to be your allies instead of flying away the moment you approach them? TBH, I thought having little "signal flair" crows was a good idea, but I also wanted them to make a distinct sound to differentiate themselves from all the other explosion sounds. Crows also start flying .2 seconds after being disturbed, so even with this change, the killer will still have to take into account the survivors movement with a slight delay. Current Spies is an "Ok" perk, but it could be sooo much better and more intuitive... don't cha think?
Yes, but I don't want it to become overpowered. I kind of loathed it on Hawkins because with the bloody noise I basically knew where everybody was most of the time. However, without that downside it would be absolutely overpowered for a Nurse (which I main).
(I've finished reading and completed the first reply btw)
-
An old, proven, trick, minus the crown. You must have no sign showing you have played the game : basic outfit, no add-ons, no crap on the hooks.
Usually survivors with a bit of experience may feel overconfident an try to bully you about one minute being wiped-out.
-
I'll read everything at some point but ...
Spies from the Shadow is a good perk and I wouldn't want to see it changed.
Same remark for all the proposed reworks.
I like "Used and Abused". It's borderline trollish but it can be funny.
I love "Carrion Craving". It would encourage survivors to heal which is a great slow-down. Is it too strong? I don't know.
"Hex: Powerless" is an interesting idea. The way I see it, the first boon will destroy the boon and the hex itself. I feel there could be some tuning to this.

Camping is not healthy for the game regardless of the “excuse”.
Some killers use camping as a means to apply pressure, but not everyone of them is doing it because of that reason.
That’s why you see Bubbas camping at 5 gens, or why the whiffers who can’t run a simple LT wall do it. Some are just bad, period. So they rely on the game’s own broken playstyle to get free pressure that other good skilled killers earn.
Until the devs actually see the fact that you can cheese this playstyle, you will have to bring the same meta perks. DS, UB, and BT to have a chance.
This is a very bad solution for new players and dare I say has probably driven new players away. All when you consider that they do not have access to those perks straight away.
There is no need for any kind excuse. Camping is a tactic.
Survivors can do the gens and leave.
Survivors can go for an hook swap.
...
If you don't like camping don't do it but don't believe for one second you can tell anyone what they can or cannot do.
-
It is hard to balance the game.
They first need to make smaller maps and given their last maps, it will probably not happen. That would already go a huge way though.
Then they need to tune down the survivor meta and the heap of second chances. (Boons, DH)
Only after that they can start to buff killers if it's really needed. It's not that the killers are fundamentally weak, it's that the survivors tend to have it too easy (once they learn a few tricks).
I only play killer during the night because the queues are too big, win or lose survivor is so relaxing.

No, soloq is often a PITA but I get a good chunk of good games with good survivors. Almost all my friends have given up on the game a while ago already so that's my only way to play survivor. (Besides, it's not worse than the killer experience)

It is ALL about try-harding, people who take more kills are always people who try hard, it doesn't measure how "good" people are, it measure how desperate they are at achieving kills/escapes.
The point of SBMM is separating people who playing game casually/normally, to people who desperate enough to bring anything possible to achieve their goal.
You are missing the entire point of system.
Oh and you won't get 3 or 4k every match, if you were to actually afk you will get to bottom of MMR because probability of kills are actually really low.
There is a perverse problem in there. I don't "try-hard", by your definition. I don't like to kill beginners. I tend to play very nice against them. (I'm however a perfect bastard against the good ones.)
I'd only hook them twice, slug giving ample time for rescue, let them do gens and only kill half of them in the end (because there still need to be some danger else what's the point). However the MMR forces me to kill 3 relatively fast and give the last one hatch (because the hatch discards MMR updates). If I don't do it I keep getting beginners and that's no fun. I'm not a babysitter.

@GreenDemo said:
Exactly, nice of you to write those tips.
I guess the only problem now is no counter play to a nurse using add-ons. I mean the counterplay is still the same, but yknow. Recharge let's the nurse be more agressive, range let's traverse even faster, and one additional blink is just "easy mode" as someone said.
Still a fairly balanced killer without add-ons. (Balanced as in the expertise she requires to use her power well)
There is counter-play. It's just more difficult. Addons get spent though, and the good ones aren't too common.

Game after i got tunneled and farmed by my teammates and dude had NOED
Game after was a VPN(bad ping) nurse or whatever also hook camped xDD ("i have 1000 hours on nurse account created 3 months ago with starstruck and other teachables smh)

https://youtu.be/oP01PLtQa80?t=88 https://youtu.be/oP01PLtQa80?t=384The first one in this sample may be just a corner case where the survivor takes a tangent on the trap radius. The second one is weird:

Another hypothesis was some cheat but it happens way too often for that.
No camera turn for the survivors, no lunge after teleporting. Completely useless.

I love looking at the replies to this thread. You know exactly who the Killer players pretending to be survivor players are.
On another note, I have a feeling the Nurse will be a self-correcting problem. Nurse is becoming a defunct killer because survivors are no longer willing to go against her.
And so you outed yourself as part of that minority players who thinks there are two camps and plays one role only.
Usually players play both roles. That's also how they are generally better than the ones who limits themselves.
I just love going against Nurse. It's so much fun countering her and exploiting her many weaknesses. Of course I know how she works and I like a challenge. (I used to love going against Spirit too but she is rare now, and the mind-games have gone.)
If Nurse is so busted, why don't you show us? Take her for a spin, win a lot of games, reach high MMR* and show us how you win almost every time. (I'm not holding my breath.)

As killer I've versed members of this forum several times (The ones in Europe, obviously).
Some are very good and I've got them on my friend list on Steam. (My steam name is very different.) I still regularly see one of them post here.
Some are pretty bad and salty.
It may surprise you to know the good ones aren't part of the legion of salty crybabies we see on a regular basis. They all play(ed) both roles.
It may shock you to know that among the aforementioned salty crybabies, none had any kind of skills. I'm speaking less than 100 hours level. I must confess that, recognizing the name of a self-proclaimed pros I wasn't ... gentle. Nothing bad : no tunnel, no camp (no need). I just didn't play as nice and silly as I usually do when I verse weak survivors. They were pretty salty in the end game chat though. What essentially transpired was that I was a noob for killing them.
I don't allow comments so my profile stays clean.

As a Nurse main I agree that Midwich and Dead Dawg are great for Nurse.
But The Game is a mixed bag. Against bad survivors, it's an easy win. But against an experienced team? A whole different story.
I find The Game generally easier than Dead Dawg. I tend to have better win rates on multiple floors because in my experience survivors don't tend to think vertically. Midwich, The Game, Hawkins when it was still available and even RPD (but there an immersed team will win easily) As small Dead Dawg is, I find some of its structures more difficult to handle (lots of blockers packed together, and a survivor hiding there will block the blink landing and break it).

Yeah we also should see some changes after nurses rework.
What was meant is that, like the ruin rework affected the quality of survivors by making them generally worse at hitting great skillchecks, the DH rework should improve them at looping and juking.
The improvements evoked for the Nurse were about making her easier to handle for newbies. That's something I hope never happens as her difficulty is part of her charm. However it may indeed push survivors in being generally better too. The Nurse may finally stop being the worst killer in the game (she has, after all, the lowest kill rate) and raise her to at least Clown level. Even good survivors could have problems against her then. Survivors would see her at all skill levels so they would have no choice but improve.

Also, since nurse is in the game, survivors NEED dead hard. It’s literally a requirement against her.
Absolutely not, it's just strong against her (if she doesn't know how to handle it). But survivors raised on DH usually aren't very good. We should see some change after its rework.

Most people don't understand watching her blink time to gauge if they should double back towards her as well. I constantly watch ok nurses who arnt quite good enough to read/just guess a double back constantly over shoot me. Because I play nurse and know damn well how far that charged blink is going.
I make nurses lives hell most of the time. But hey. No counter play. 🤷
The worst opponent of a Nurse is another Nurse ^_^. (I have better survivability against a Nurse than against any other killer)
-
Exactly right.
Even a well trained Nurse can be juked. As for the "gods", I don't think they are relevant to any discussion. I've been called a "god" Nurse by nice survivors several times but what I call that is "being lucky this time" or "having a good day".
When a Nurse misses a hit, she is almost blind for a few seconds. If the survivor is unpredictable and doesn't panic he is likely to avoid the next hit or even escape from the Nurse's perception.
However, in many games the survivors do the silliest things.
The less experienced players sometimes manage to dodge an attack (they are naturally as unpredictable as a headless chicken) but then run directly towards me.
The more experienced players know a few tricks but since I know these too I can bait them most of the time. I fake my intent, they react to a cue and eat a bone-saw for their trouble.
The good players know all this and also know how to exploit the very bad short-range perception of killers. They don't panic and disregard most of my baits so I have to brute-force it and it becomes a game of who is more unpredictable.
One thing to understand is that the only players complaining about the Nurse are the ones in the first two categories.
PS: Dead Hard is very strong against the Nurse (But one has to be smart using it.)
