  • I got something similar. The survivor had only to wiggle about 6 times to escape.

No special perks on their side.

I thought it was a hack but a mod pointed me to this thread.

Looking at the videos, I'm not convinced this is the same issue.

Yeah its frustrating as he's my main. He's a blast for and against but people aint playing him on my servers lol. Getting loads of Billy's with the sailor costume though 😅

Oh yeah, I've seen that one. It's one of the few I find kind of ugly.

  • @Canas said:

Only one option left then: slugging. You need to make them bleed out.

That was an option but since I was focused on doing the rift instead of killing, that option wouldn't have helped me.

If I had realized they were cheating before the end game lobby, I would have recorded the game too. I usually do but again ... rift mode.

Problem with Nurse is if she is good then is pointless to play because you really cant do much against her unless you get one of the great maps, if she is bad then is pointless to play too because its going to be a 5 minutes 4 escape with MAYBE one or two hooks, usually there is no middle ground.

Overall Nurse makes games extremely boring because either you stomp or get stomped and both situations are not very stimulating, I rarely complain if people go AFK/DC/suicide against her, especially if Survivor queue is instant also I rarely unhook the suiciders, if they dont want to play a doomed game I wont force them to stay.

Crybabies are pretty rare in my games. And, cheaters excepted, I tend to spank survivors a lot.

The nice thing is that even a beginner (thanks MMR) appears to learn a thing of twos during one single match. Players with more experience start to be difficult to chase. (Using any of the many known ways to juke a Nurse)

There are, of course, the ones who will cry and throw a fit, and pout, and leave the game. Thankfully, in my experience, these entitled brats are pretty rare. Most players do their best to learn to verse her.

  • I can confirm the travel speed using range addons is a bit faster than without any addons.

Since I'm very rarely using addons on the Nurse, I'm not sure if it's normal or not.

I don't think it really poses a problem though. The range at which this is noticeable is pretty long. The Nurse would have to have a pretty long line of sight on the survivors. Aura detection, of course, helps but it's not like survivors would have any reaction time with or without the addons. I believe you have to see though the eyes of the Nurse to notice the difference.

  • If you are on console, your ping, your opponent's, or both may be a bit high (in the 150ms). There is some variance so it may just be one of these days.

I've just played a few games with her and she is feeling fine (PC, Steam, Europe).

  • Welcome and ... everybody else has given ample details already.

Never apologize for your English. I'm pretty sure a good chunk of people here aren't native English speakers either and you'll naturally improve with practice. (It's my 3rd language)

  • It depends how fast you are at downing people.

I usually go for detection + snowball kill : Whispers, BBQ, Infectious, Starstruck

Check Rayoxium and SupaAlf on youtube (and Twitch) to check their various builds.

  • Yes. Anything the killer wants to try is his prerogative.

    Any other question?

  • @Bwsted said:

Are you surprised at BHVR's lack of consistency?

I mean, look at fog whisperers' requirements:

"Behaviour Interactive is looking for passionate streamers and video creators that have an established positive presence in the DbD Community and creator space."

That's literally what they say they look for and they have 'certain' fog whisperers who openly say they try to farm salt and who play as much as possible trying to antagonize other players.

If BHVR are so cognitevily dissonant to openly induct and support people like that, imagine how active could they get against randos advertising exploits on youtube.

Which is exactly why you cannot trust any fog whisperer's opinion. That event only made this pretty clear.

I've systematically unsubbed from any streamer becoming fog whisperer, and sometimes came back to the few who lost that label.

  • I've not seen her for a while now.

  • If you already got the same awful map three times in a row, maybe you will not want to try a fourth time. (RPD, Mother's Dwelling, any big map really.)

Other than that I don't see a reason to do it. The MMR doesn't work so lowering it seems futile.

    @Cryptikk said:

So killers are literally afk'ing the games to lower thier mmr, yet the devs like Patrick say it works. How can they say that when we are this point?

That's the part of that you question?

Lol, I actually had a match against four TTV survivors the other night. Turned out not to be too bad though, I don’t think they were top notch streamers but just average kids doing the streaming thing on the side or whatever.

You were lucky. TTVs often give me a bad experience. It usually ends with a rage-quit when their failed bullying attempt puts them on a hook.

  • You cannot really do anything about it. If a killer who already got you once wants to get you out, he'll most probably succeed.

Usually it's your team's job to protect you. Tunneling is a form of pressure, as is camping.

If your team is smart enough, you'll dangle on the hook for as long as you can (maybe until you are sacrificed) and they'll push the gens. It's not really fun but it's the game.

To mitigate this : do not bring tools, do not wear flashy skins, do not try in any way to attract the attention of the killer. Crouch, don't make noise, don't fart. My usual build is : Iron will, Dead Hard, Spine chill, Alert on a Claudette. Don't use P3 Claudette though, they are usually killed on sight on principle.

    One example from yesterday.

As survivor, one teammate was wearing the Rift-70 heart outfit and a flashlight. He was clearly going to troll the killer (Artist) and of course the killer made a point getting him out of the game. We have body blocked, taken protection hits, healed, flashlighted, destroyed hooks, muddied the tracks ... all the usual tricks. We did 4 gens before the first kill and only one of us survived. We have kind of thrown the game but it was a lot of fun.

As killer I often need to get someone out ASAP. If the team chooses to rush the gens and leave it's not very fun and I get one kill. Meh. However if they chose to defend him it's a lot of fun. They often succeed to make me lose him using the same tactics I cited in the previous paragraph. This is also true when I play the Nurse (although body blocking a Nurse is a futile exercise, the rest works just fine : a Nurse's worst weakness is tracking survivors).

  • @dugman said:

Exactly right, if a lobby is full and a killer dodges it (“Four TTV survivors? I’m out!”) then it backfills with whatever killer player is available.

    Oh gods😱

  • killer fun.png

I don't like going against stealth killers at all.

  • I think that stress is basically your body anticipating the tension you'll need while playing.

It's only because you care. The game is stacked against you : don't worry about the outcome.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2852701#Comment_2852701

Sounds like you were a backfill and/or that player was in a swf with someone else in that match.

In backfill I understand how a survivor is replaced by another without any regard for his MMR ranking. (And here I was way too experienced for the best of them)

Do you mean the killer can also be a backfil? If their lobby has been waiting for a long time?

Maybe it explains why I tend to get less experienced groups around midnight.

  • Yes. Don't worry about it and do what you need to do.

  • Yesterday, as Nurse, one of my opponents had 8 hours ... 8 bloody hours. His teammates were barely in the 500 hours range.

I don't even dare to be too nice anymore. I suspect the MMR may send more of those my way if I do it. This is about as unpleasant as going against SWF teams with twice my experience (although these games are usually over in 5 minutes).

  • killer strength.png

The Hag's spot may not be accurate as since she has been bugged I've stopped playing her regularly.

  • Looking at all the rankings posted here (great thread idea btw), it's interesting to see how different all our tastes in killers are.

Another though is that we don't despise many killers, even if we don't all agree on which ones.

Essentially, it means BHVR has mostly succeeded in making fun killers.

If we get more rankings, it would be interesting to compile the results. I'd have to be perfectly awake to think of a good way to merge them.

  • I see it more like this:

    killer fun rank.png

Hag would be higher if she wasn't broken. (Has been for months now)

I get alot of complaints when I play that way, I run infectious fright and if everyone's there I will always try to see how fast I can get them all but I won't just blindly try to go slugging if nobody is visibly around me

My current build is : Infectious fright, BBQ, whispers and starstruck

  • I would also suggest to train with the Nurse, without any addons for the first few weeks.

For the build, I suggest a full-detection set. BBQ, Nurse calling, ... you get the idea.

Don't focus on gens, only on chases and downs.

When you land where you want without thinking (after a while, probably), start experimenting.

  • @The_Krapper said:

Start playing nurse and make it a game to see how fast you can slug the survivors, I promise you they will let you know how they feel about it

Surprisingly, I often go for a 4-slug (not planned, just simply snowballing) and I seldom get complains.

The exception is when I get the team down during the first two minutes of the game (but usually the alternative when this happens involves to play hide and seek for ages : never again)

  • It's purely random.

Over all my killers (all of the roster), I remember having struggled once to get it.

The problem is just that MOST people are used to only ONE control scheme, THATS why its harder for them.

,,Controller bad" is only a excuse most people use to be worse then PC players.

I don't know what excuses people make for themselves.

In my opinion, gamepads are superior tools for survivors. They may even be adequate for some killers (On console I mostly play survivor so I can only guess).

Consoles also give a couple more technical advantages that I'll not explain here .

However, I've never heard of anybody being able to aim as fast on a gamepad than with a mouse. And if you know how these devices provide input to the computer, it's pretty clear.

The point is : in my opinion most players display different strengths on different platform. Even if you, among others, are an exception, everybody else isn't.

    Wdym?

Do you mean that if a full distance blink takes 1s to reach it would only take 1s even if you use a range addon? Basically Nurse´s range addons speed her up if you go for fullrange blinks?

Indeed. However this is only an hypothesis of what may be happening. It sounds like an easy enough mistake to make in the code.

I've seen the Zubatel video but I've not tried myself.

  • Some people are happy with this, some do not care. I'm not sure what your point is.

I've spread the news about the current event to my not-playing-anymore friends and some of them will login every day to get the bonus.

That being said I'm almost disappointed the new chapter looks so unsuccessful. (No, I'm not playing Sadako anymore either)

  • The issue with old ruin is that new players didn't stand a chance against it.

They already have issues hitting basic skill-checks.

  • What are you referring to? There were issue but it was pretty mild considering what happened in the past.

I am maining nurse on controller and its easy peasy.

Good for you. It's not the case for everybody and I don't believe one can play Nurse at the same level with a pad than with a keyboard and mouse.

Actually I'd have to check with Superalf in one of his streams, he started on a gamepad and is now playing on keyboard/mouse. I know I couldn't do it even half as well. (Nurse is my main killer on PC)

The issue here isn't about one individual but the vast majority of potatoes playing this game. ^_^

That's why I said my agreement depends solely on what the issue is. Regardless companies should always have people in place to fix (or bandaid fix if possible) severe issues on weekends. A company would be smart to do so.

The only kind of emergency that warrants this is something requiring an intervention on the servers.

But they are hosted by Amazon so I'm guessing their contract includes this kind of service as it's pretty standard.

Imagine thinking controlle or m&k player are more or less skilled in a game like DBD

Imagine not seeing how the different strengths and weaknesses of both controls, along with the different platforms can affect survivors and each killer skills differently.

But have fun playing Nurse on a pad on console if you play her decently on M&K. (Among other things.)

That they do the opposite of what the community wants it's false, otherwise many things wouldn't have been changed.

The question is always if they don't have the time, for some reason, to rework killers and trash add-ons, faster than a turtle or they wanna keep the game balanced for only when you face casual players that have ± 1 weak link and aren't efficient.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2849294#Comment_2849294

You don't blink shorter, you blink the same exact distance.

We must not fall into the whataboutism: if the game ever got balanced, an add-on that buffs your power so massively shouldn't exist, because otherwise why shouldn't everybody just use it and nothing else?

Talking about good efficient players, have you ever watched Xeno( the comp player)? You can just a Nurse, and quite a lot sometimes, because they know how the Nurse works and know a lot of mindgames being Nurse main themselves. This when doing 1 vs 1s against other very good comp players he can resist even 1/2 minutes against that, if had a 3rd blink, you would just not juke them ever.

Also the 3rd blink is even better than recharge in some situations, because if you don't use the third you can have 2 blinks available almost immediately.

You don't get it, do you?

What a waste of time this thread turned out to be.

  • @Brimp said:

Yeah they basically brought back half of omega blink. You arrive at the blink destination faster but dont charge faster.

So it would mean they scaled the blink movement speed with the distance instead of having it as a constant.

I've not tried the add-ons myself. Even before the rework, I've seldom used addons.

  • Yes, until they buff her she is trash.

This was the question that finally made me create an account.

But in all seriousness I enjoy playing as the Clown, Trickster, Trapper, Ghostface, Legion, Doctor and Wraith. I have played every killer in the game and these guys are my favorite to play. Don't get me wrong, I know it is possible to 4k as them but it isn't as easy if you were to play as a good Nurse, Blight or Spirit. I have played those 3 killers and I don't enjoy their mechanics. When I hear a glass bottle shattering and or see some bear traps in my survior games I am excited because it's not a Huntress, Nurse or Spirit. Variety I love when it comes to perk builds, add-ons, items, killers and survivors.

If you leave a comment please be nice and let me know if you play a "bad" killer and why you play them.

For the killer side, I main Nurse.

Yet I also absolutely enjoy Wraith, Huntress, Myers, Hag (before she was bugged into uselessness), Doctor, Leatherface, Plague, Demogorgon, Deathslinger, Executioner, Nemesis and Cenobite. I don't think Trickster, Doctor and Wraith are weak btw, just not very good.

The killers not on this list I don't enjoy or I loathe (Twins).

Trapper can be fun, sometimes, but it's mostly a PITA.

In fact the highest peak players over the last 30 days is today. So yes, the game has gotten a player boost since Sadako went live on the 8th. It’s not increased enough to make up for the losses in the prior six months but it has increased.

Well, yes, I believe the increase was obvious (now at -3.16%).

Of course we are far from the RE chapter influx.

This is a live service game. That means issues can arise any day of the week.

It is not unreasonable to have just a couple (or even just one) employees rotating weekends as an "on call" person who can quickly do a bandaid fix on issues until the team returns on Monday.

BHVR is a company who wants to make money. They know their players, they know that most people play more often on the weekends. Which is why they always did the blood hunts on weekends as well. Obviously they'd want to make sure the game is working properly on the weekends even more so then the weekdays.

Now my agreement on this topic depends solely on what issue people are complaining about and how severe it is. Somethings can wait until Monday, some things can't (or shouldn't).

No, it seems very unreasonable to have even one person on call in the eventuality of such a trivial matter. It's a waste of money. Besides, just for the sake of argument : as MandyTalk pointed out, this kind of issue requires a lead and you don't put a lead on call. This is usually grunt work.

This is a pretty rare occurrence and it would be even less of an issue if less noise had been made about it.

Some games may have survivors exploiting this. Big deal, how worse is it that the plethora of cheaters plaguing the game?

But Im pretty sure its Steamcharts, cause its the only one people keep bringing up.

And you have never heard of terms like "projection", "trend", ... ?

Here is an idea that may blow your mind : if a product's sales on a platform drops, it is likely other platforms are following the same path. (But hey, maybe on Switch there are hundreds of new users each day and we never heard about it ...)

  • Actually, this month went from -5% to -3.33%. Yay?

  • Absolutely not (unless you want the game to die for good). And I hope they never make her easier to play. It would be the end of her too.

With 3 blinks you can always get the first hit, especially with the omegablink add-on, and if you can hide your third blink you can bait DH and then catch them with it. There is not really a high risk high reward scenario, because, especially with the recharge add-on, it's almost impossible to dodge 3 blinks, because you don't blink slower, so the downside of the recharge is really not a problem if you know what you're doing, and god tier Nurses need only 2 blinks, if they have a third one and maybe Starstruck it's really gg

You blink shorter. Besides, even if, how is that busted? Busted is "blam, you're dead".

Not needing the 3rd blink means it's almost irrelevant. And yes, it is. As I stated earlier, I never needed it. It's a gimmick that can be used as a surprise, once. (Again, we are speaking about good, efficient, players or ?)

Bugs that cause crashes or completely remove a player from matches are killswitched.

A lack of two walls in the main building is just a reason to play Nurse or hope the Fairy from DC is visiting you in the loading screen.

That last sentence made me laugh 😂

  • Not really, no. Pass the surprise of the third blink, it's only one more juke for a shorter blink and a longer downtime. It's strong, nothing more.

Besides, the few times I've used it, I had to force myself to need that 3rd blinks. Any good Nurse will only need one or two blinks for a hit.

(We are speaking about good players, right?)
