ok, show me a video of someone doing 12 hooks 9 games in a row
You said "nobody does 12 chases". Where that "9 in a row" comes from? It feels like you are moving the goalpost.
Most of my games I get 12 chases, sometimes less, sometimes more (because, you know, good jukes)
Twelve hooks are pretty common though.

In 2021 it was 54% solo players, even if we assume that solo players have dropped since SBMM it's probably still between 40-50% solo players, I doubt that pure solo groups are only 10%
It's just something I've measured during the night games. So of course there is some discrepancy with global numbers : groups don't form easily during the day. Solos were usually with and SWF3 and and SWF2 and very rarely as four single.
If you look at the graph, it kind of makes perfect sense.
The SWF3 has to be completed by a solo, so you can remove their height from the solo one, that's about 10%
Then there is almost 30% that can go in the SWF2: statistically, only half of SWF2 will be fitted together 15%, times two for the solos obviously.
Which means that globally there are (50 - 10 - 15 * 2 = ) 10% of purely solo groups.
When I did that night-time measurement, what I got was: SWF4 : 20% SWF3 : 40% SWF2 x 2 : 10% SWF2 + solos x 2 : 10% Solos x 4 : 6%
My solo number of 6% is lower than the 10% I've used in the previous post. Since it was night-time I was assuming the number was higher for a whole day (when friends were busy at work or something) so I've doubled and rounded it for safety.

You´re all making very good points. Thank you for the discussion. Devs will probably introduce some icons that show what every survivor is doint at all times. Which... knowing our community... will result in great endgame chats full of accusations. Because someone did one thing instead of another.
One icon that could be fine is telling if and which survivor is in a chase, similar to the obsession but for everyone.
That's not much, but it's one of the things that I miss as a solo survivor (compared to my SWF days)

Best chance to learn a new language!
My German at this point (and I'm sorry for how badly I'll write these) :
- dankesheun
- bittesheun
- freulein
- ichliebedich
- schadenfreude
All said with a very thick French accent ...
I may be able to understand words that are similar in Dutch or English but that it. Oh, there is also "arbeit" (アルバイト), which is equally unhelpful in this context >_>.
It'll go well 😂
-
First, I don't believe so. Matches with SWF are way more common. Pure solo groups are maybe around the 10%
Second, if the solos have issues (beside the throwers and the MMR putting differently skilled players together) then the solution is to alleviate these issues, not to pull everything down to that level.
There are a few suggestions about this on the appropriate part of the forum.

I would love to see notes for 6.1.1 Surerly by now, the build is done right? If it's to be distributed on all platforms.

Basekit nurse is far from a problem. She has plenty of counter. No one actually defends range. People like me just recognize they're a necessary evil until devs learn how to make maps that aren't stupidly huge
Side note about basekit Nurse. We had a discussion several days ago about basekit Nurse vs basekit Blight. I've learned quite a bit about Blight since and I believe that indeed, he is stronger than Nurse in most situations.

Haven't had any issues with rubber-banding as a Survivor, but Killer is miserable. Had multiple hits refunded, and even lost chases/games because of it
Rubber banding managed to prevent me from dropping a pallet, or doing any other action in a timely manner several times. It's a PITA.
For killer too, obviously.
-
I'd rather they complain about a bit of everything. That would be closer to balance. ^_^

Sprint Burst takes skill.

Some aspects are inevitable but camping and slugging, with the current gen speeds, slowdown and regression perks should not be possible. You now don't need to camp and tunnel to do really well and it can make a lot of games end much quicker than they need to for some Survivors.
I play mostly Killer and I agree the patch went a little too hard on Survivors and that tunneling and camping can now safely be nerfed into the ground as a result, because most of the time it's not necessary. Adjust camping so it accounts for floor differences and the actual path you would need to take in cases to get to a hook but otherwise yeah, easy fix.
It depends. Case in point: yesterday, corn map. I find a survivor and hook him. Gens are going in parallel and they hide soon enough that I don't see them. Two gens pop, the guy unhooked, a third gen pops soon after. I manage to find another survivor and with BBQ I see two on one side on a gen and the third one on another. By the time I would go, it would pop. Nobody ever healed by the way. Guess how it ended?
When survivors are coordinated, there aren't many options left.
The next map, Ormond, same killer, same build, I went full strength immediately and by the time the first gen popped, two survivors were dead. (Then I went a bit softer and the fools didn't realize I was just being nice and started to macro click when I suddenly started to miss hatchets. I killed the fools on the spot.)
The outcome will always be hard to predict. A streamer said that he didn't see any value in playing "nice" or "fair", meaning using every mistake and countering every move. I'm starting to wonder if that's not the right way to play.
-
Wow.
-
Beside all the reasons it doesn't work and can be exploited, you have to realize camping is sometimes the best if not the only option to counter a survivor play (e.g. gen-before-friend, ignoring hook pressure, ...).
I don't believe there is anything that can be done against camping except making the other choices better.
To illustrate, we have seen several players complain about Legion & Plague equipped with Thanatophobia. I don't believe there were camping complains associated to these. I'm not saying that's ideal of course.
Reducing one's options doesn't fix anything.

You can have whatever win condition you want. But I want games where 12 hooks is the goal with a 4k if I play well....People hate camping and tunneling, right ? Well I want to give 12 separate chases to the best of my ability
I'm sorry, but you're not traversing maps like mothers dwelling, eyrie, temple, etc etc AND giving 12 chases with basekit nurse.
Since I'm almost never using add-ons, it's a fact that on these maps I go for a four-slug (unless the survivors aren't good).
The worst case scenario is when I cannot hook after that, thanks to the oh so wonderful hook distribution.
Big maps are the worst.

Can you personally recount players you’ve reported getting banned for this behavior? Genuinely curious. Since the reporting process is so heavily involved and behind the times.
Sandbaggers? Every single one of them. Thankfully it doesn't happen often. I've got a bookmark on the report page and have no issue uploading videos.
If troll start to ruin others game more often (and it happened in several games recently) then reports for this will rise until the player base is cleansed.

If a survivor doesn't want to be in a match, forcing them to stay won't magically make them team players. The amount of times I've saved some trying to die on hook, only for them to sandbag and throw a tantrum is too many to count.

-
This can be seen as the symptom the DC penalties aren't enough.
-
There is already a bug report for this.
Although the report says you have to hit the survivor so both the killer and the survivor get the effect, and try this multiple times.
It seems impractical to do in a real match.
There:

- You can permanently invigorate yourself as The Clown
- As The Clown repeatedly direct hit a Survivor with your antidotes, not sure how many times is necessary, I usually use 12 to 16 bottles of antidote. Both you and the survivor need to be invigorated by the bottles you've thrown, Invigorating yourself repeatedly won't work.
- I did this twice in public matches and it worked both times.
I didn't take any screenshots because of how easy this is to reproduce. Sorry.
And there is also this one:
@AngryHobo2 said:
Step 1: Enter public match as clown.
Step 2: Toss an Afterpiece Antidote (Yellow Gas) at a survivor at a pallet.
Step 3: Get stunned by said survivor as the Haste effect is granted.
Step 4: If successful, you now have a permanent speed bonus.
When this occurred I was playing as "The Clown" on the newest map "Garden of Joy". I was using Clown's own perks for an Archive Challenge, as well as Shadborn. All perks were Tier III. As of now, I have only had the bug occur once, I shall attempt to reproduce the bug after completing this bug report. EDIT: After replicating the above steps I have successfully replicated the bug.
Since I have started to record all of my games with Shadowplay for content creation, I have a recording of the match which can be found at the YouTube link below:
I will also include my log as I am a PC player.
This link is to my first interaction with the bug:
This link is to my second interaction where I attempted to replicate the bug in a public match. I succeeded.

The thing with the path of least resistance is true. However with the MMR, said difficulty tends to increase so the ones who are only switching because of that don't stay for long.

The luckiest survivor play I've seen was a chased Meg jumping down from the upper floor in Ironworks and landing right on the hatch that only appeared while she was mid-air. It was truly awesome.
But for a Yin, a Yang ...
In Hawkins a survivor managed to find the hatch before me and was quite noisy about it. Well, you know the type. He was maybe 20 meters away on the other side of a wall. I had a mental image of the area so I've rolled the dice and, luckily, blind-blinked right on top of the hatch and closed it in front of him. It was at this moment he knew he ######-up.
See? Everyone has lucky episodes as well as unlucky ones ;)

I still think that any icons or information added to the game should be available for all 5 players. If additional icons "really aren't a big deal", then let the killer see them too. If it would be "too unbalanced" for the killer to see an icon, then maybe it really is a big deal and solo q shouldn't get it.
Can you give an example?
-
@dugman said:
For reference they already announced in January they want to add icons to the HUD for survivors to see what the other survivors are doing. It just got delayed because of everything else in the pipeline this year. I’m sure it’ll be back eventually though.
There has been several discussions on that theme. I don't recall the announce specifically nor if there were details in it.
There was a suggestion about telling a survivor to go help others in some situations. It was proposed independently by several players. One even made some very nice icons/messages suggestions.
(Among others ...)

If people want to bridge the gap between solo and voice comm SWFs, then they should say so. But people shouldn't say they want to bridge the gap between solo and SWF, and then recommend things that only voice comm SWFs have.
Let's put aside the playing field leveling and the frequency of usage of comms.
This feature exists already for the obsession. What would be the downside of extending it to everyone?
If there is one, how significant is it?
As killer, letting know that I'm chasing a specific survivor has only a minor downside. (And, thinking about it, may probably be used in mind-games)
As solo survivor, it allows to better coordinate with strangers. In fact, it helps every kind of groups but the ones in comm who already have that feature (and more). I don't mind helping a casual SWF4. The only SWF who don't need help are the SWATs.

yea thanatophobia is okay on legion im also gonna give him a shot i mean why have my games ruined when i can ruin other players games and have fun myself :)
Its boring to play survivor becuase no matter how good you play one bad teammate not doing gens is enough to throw the whole match on killer you dont have to rely on teammates + its easier now
Other good perks on Legion is bamboozle, monstrious shrine is not that bad anymore and it forces survivor to go for saves much quicker turning a hook state from 60 sec to 48 sec combine this with scourge hook pain resonance and you're set
One more thing clown didnt get any changes right? i love him but he is underwhelming to play but very fun!
Being dependent on teammates playing correctly is often annoying, yes. The MMR is supposed to fix that.
Clown get the same slight buffs as the other M1 killers. I had good results with him but of course many players are still getting used to the changes.
-
@terumisan said:
You could do that and give people base after care bond and kindred and they'll be at the level at swf but all your games will be camping and tunneling. Why not just nerf swf to the level of solo then buff Survivors
Because comms are a thing and will not be made illegal by BHVR, so the only way is to push solo up.
-
What? This is perfect: an oppressive atmosphere that has its place in an horror movie.
I love going against Dredge and this is one of the reasons.
-
@Jarky said:
I'm in two minds about this change.
On the one hand, she's able to utilise basic attack perks easily (such as exposed) just by nature of her power, which puts her already immense advantage at an even bigger advantage. That said, if you remove her ability to use basic perks Nurse players will gravitate more naturally towards slowdown perks instead since they're now basically down to information perks/slowdown perks in their arsenal.
I think ultimately, it's a healthier change for her design to make her blink attack not a basic attack in the long run without redesigning her completely. They could change some of her add-ons if they make this change to apply things like haemorrhage/mangled on blink attacks to at least make up for her not being able to use some basic attack perks via add-ons alone and also just to increase some of her add-on variety.
I believe the reason changing the attack is solely because of Starstruck.
However I don't see why is a problem, except, again, with speed-boosted range.
When I verse a Nurse I either assume she has it, or I wait for the notification.
And in that case I play like against a Legion : split-up, do generators in parallel. This is the most efficient way to win in against any killer anyway.
-
@realflashboss said:
As a survivor there isnt one. Irony is they raise the BP cap to 40k. Screenshots below how many survivors hit that please?
The raised cap helps to increase the score compared to before 6.1.0. It doesn't need to reach the maximum.
The highest scores I've seen in my games were slightly above 29K, whereas I get slightly above 35K as killer (but I'm almost always giving hatch)
-
This reminds me I've not played Legion yet in 6.1.0
So far it has been Blight, Bubba, Clown, Doctor, Huntress, Hag, Nurse Trapper.
Now I need to try, thanks for the suggestion. I'm guessing Thanatophobia is still good, given he tends to have everyone hurt? 😋
-
@Jarky said:
I presume you mean the Orange glyph that gives you a screen effect and sound effect?
Yeah it's a little too much I think, and apparently going to have more effects in later levels. I appreciate BHVR going for some variety in these glyph challenges, but since this one hinders gameplay and is giving people auditory/sensory problems it's probably a bit too much.
Was it orange? Maybe. The constant sound plus that whirling was trying my nerves.
I'm trying it with an M1 killer that doesn't need obstacle precision (not Billy, not Bubba, ...) and if it's as bad I'll skip them all.

Funny even he thinks she needs to be nerfed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQvgzuHNcs4&ab_channel=DOWSEY its more than just her Range add ons i could link more more Vids on why and how nurse should be nerfed from others if you like
I understand what he proposes and will not help people complaining about the Nurse, if you understand the "consistency" proposition. (I play most of my Nurse games without perks nor addons, but it's only because the MMR fails so often. Against a good team on a big map, they are absolutely mantatory. The boost however ... no, just no.)
What is important is how nicely he demonstrated how to kite a Nurse for a long time. I wonder how much time it would take me to get him, if ever xD. (It was earlier on the current stream)
-
Except the other survivor state point, which is a recurring idea, everything else is not an option.
- is pointless
- prevents survivors to try to self-unhook which has saved countless of us. Reducing options isn't good.
- absolutely not, this is breaking so many things I shouldn't have to enumerate them
- easier said than done. There is a good reason the MMR doesn't work properly.
- pointless in this context
- recurring proposition, the devil in the details though
- no, for oh so many reasons
- maps are built before the match. If I understand what you propose, it will not happen
- already in the pipeline

she not her range add ons and perks like Starstruck, Floods of rage, Pain res and darkness revealed she is a power house even with out these perks and just her range add ons she is no where near balanced this is not 2016 nurse anymore BHVR has turned her into an unstoppable beast in the right hands.
She no longer takes as much time to learn how to play before because of bugs and certain maps and her ability to have to ride a blink out with no way cancel or make it shorter and couldn't blink up or down she was consider hard to master and the community accepted her as she was.
This is no longer the case its time for a rework or a nerf even very good nurse main agree i can give links to their vids if you like
The speed boost of the range should go, everything else is fine.
It has just been demonstrated by Dowsey in a chase btw. He was truly impressive with his jukes. He lasted a long time.

@HangryMogwai said:
That seems like a fair adjustment and I like the thought process behind it. Running along the same lines, It’d be helpful to see how many meters a survivor is away from a hook, possibly letting you know if someone is running to the rescue. Utilizing this with your idea, it’d also let us know whether the person closest to the hook is being chased by the killer.
Thanks.
Yes indeed, some way to tell "I'm going" or by extension "I'm on a gen", would be useful too.
Ideally it should be automatic to avoid trolls. But I have no idea how to make the "I'm going" reliably so I guess manual is the way.
"I'm on a gen" could be automated though.
I had another suggestion to give some vague idea of the killer whereabouts relatively to a survivor (without the need of a chase). I don't know if you have seen it.
-
The only problem I can see is that using BBQ was giving an indication of where to go after a hook.
It was pretty useful for less experienced killers.
Without the BP incentive, there is less reason to use it and maybe some players will hesitate leaving the hook.
I'm not sure it's a thing though.

Ever since the update dropped, a lot of people have been upset, but one of the most annoying things is playing SoloQ and having people go out of their way to sandbag their teammates and throw the match just to inflate kill rates. I get that people want some changes to be reverted, but dont ruin the game for others just so you can prove your "point".
Out of the 14 SoloQ games I played, 9 of which were completely ruined by players going out of their way to do this.
Dont inflate the killrates on purpose, it's petty and only ruins the game for others.
Oh, this only happened once for me (and I was the killer). That despicable behavior should be a straight ban.
-
It's possible they have decided to force a smart use of DS, meaning choosing where to go down instead of mindlessly going down and using the perk.
(But yes, not being a particularly good survivor myself, 5s would not be a luxury)
