I'm still getting very quick killer queues at night (haven't tried during the day). Usually less than 30 seconds and no more than 2 minutes, which is about how fast they were for me last patch.
Australian servers if that makes a difference.
EU here, all fine.

It is out but the monster side is really boring to play.
You can try it but teens queue times take forever and monster gameplay is stale.
Have played during the BETA, have sent feedbacks to the devs, they haven't done anything. The community is quite upset now, game will die before the full release.
Well, they did something. Players keeping coming with the monster issues on the discord were banned for some made-up reason like a "ism" or something.
I was a witness of one of these. It was unbelievable. I've left the discord server myself immediately after giving a piece of my mind to the moderator.
So yeah, months later monster is still awfully tiring and annoying. Having to hunt 4 players before then ambush you requires too much energy.

All the slowdowns have just made it tiresome to play VHS Is out and it's fun If you can give it a try
It's now or never. The game isn't nice with beginners so if you wait, you'll get horrible game after horrible game.
I was in the betas and if the idea was good, the fun fades pretty fast.

The first thought at the end of the video is "Hex: Ruin. High risk no reward."

I've already stopped waiting. The thing with the new Dead-Hard is that it requires skills to use so the safe bet is to go for the hit.
There is of course the timing, but there are survivors who are still using it like the boosted loopers did with the previous version.
When someone uses it improperly, he goes down immediately after, obviously.
I've versed several survivors yesterday night and the one that didn't had much experience failed, whereas the ones that looked like they knew what they were doing managed to used it properly every time. A .5s window is pretty tight.

Its only a matter of time until people get bored of throwing every game.
I hope so, for their own sake.
-
The issue with that "genius" plan is that for it to work, it would need to affect "everyone".
However there are survivors having good games already, including solo-queue players.
Usually it entails not giving up immediately. Something that can be detected easily (hook phase duration, no meaningful actions, ...)
Since the queues were back a reasonable level yesterday (a minute or less during the night) I've versed several teams. Some did pretty well. Very few did gave up, none on my "high MMR" killers. *
Their builds were interesting too. OTR and, surprisingly, DH were common (and DH used properly, an indication of skill).
Humans adapt.
edit:
*) Oh, the cherry on top, my "highest MMR" killer is Nurse and every survivor has fought me to the end (meaning hatch or escape).
-
I don't get it. My queues have been fine since yesterday, both with my "low MMR" and my "high MMR" killers.
I had many games last night.

Well, killer said they lost if survs did 2 gens when they hook the first one. This is the same thought
Two gens isn't one down, do the math. And for a single survivor, there is always the chance to find the hatch.
Do you even understand the game?

And dont you try to think why they dc? Perhaps because UFC’s someone is down at the start you have 0-% chances of win? And with win I don’t say 4e, only 1e
I think they DC because they are spineless losers who don't stand a chance winning anything worthwhile. They probably can only go against opponents that are much weaker than them. Bullies at heart they are.
Or their mum called them for bed or for lunch, it works too.

It's not about winning or losing. It's about sending a message. And it will be received, you'll see. Most of the survivors that are suffering understand this.
The message will be received, but I don't think it'll read the way you believe it does.

Killer queue appears to be back to normal for me.
Higher during the day, smaller during the night.
Either players who had switched were mostly doing their rifts and are done now.
Either the ones usually playing survivors who had switched to get easier matches went up in MMR and started to verse good teams so they went back.

Have you played survivor recently? Even my survivor games where the killer WASN'T RUNNING SLOWDOWNS there were two of us doing gens max all game, and on average two survivors who said idgaf from jump
Now that I've finally played killer a bit in 6.1.0 I can tell the decent players have no problem to win. They are getting used to their new builds.
I think the throwers are a minority.
I wish my teammates were not DCing or giving up. It's not a winning tactic.
Also, killers queues are back to normal while the number of players hasn't changed.
I'm guessing either their rifts are done, or the ones who had switched to killers wanting "easy" games finally went against good teams often enough to go back to the survivor side.
-

I tend to be a friendly killer. If the survivors are having a really rough time, I'll usually let the last two survivors have a heal party and escape. I wonder what happens when a kindly object and protesting throw object meet?
This is how black holes form, I'm sure.
Actually black holes form when players too dense to learn new tricks throw together.

From my extensive experience as Solo before the patch, no, a lot of Killers of all skill levels and seniority camp from first hook because is one of the strongest strategies against Solos, lack of info and comms means usually 3 people go to the hook to see if they can save and it usually takes around 20 to 30 seconds (10/15 to reach and 10/15 to go back to your gen) which severely hampers the team odds of finishing remaining gens before the person croaks. Ive seen people with 100 hours and people with 4000 hours camp and every number in between, even big name streamers who are hailed as very good players camp a lot, the whole "I need incentives or buffs" was a blatant lie.
This patch making it stronger means people who relied on camping are going to get more juice for the same money.
First, they have to know they are solos.
Second, in my normal solo games virtually nobody goes for the hook until it's (almost) too late. If I'm grouped with beginners however, it's several layers of awful.
Camping is also pretty rare for me : once every 8 games maybe. I"ll see if it increases but for the moment, it's fine.
-
@HectorBrando said:

I believe they believed buffing chase, regression and gen timers people would stop camping because "camping is the only viable strat I wouldnt do it if you gave me all these buffs", so they gave all the buffs and then surprise surprise, people just couldnt help themselves and continued camping and tunneling because its the easy way to go.
Self-policing is always a mistake, doesnt work in advertisement, doesnt work in banking, doesnt work in antidoping, its not going to work here either.
It kind of does. Camping is usually done by new killers having no clue as how to play and killers without any other option left. (And a few that only do it because it's annoying, like many other things in the game.)
A "normal" killer will camp if there are survivors around, or the gens are (almost) done, etc. Otherwise, it goes against his interests to do so.
-
"Find excuses", as is one needs one excuse to play following the rules.
Tunneling and camping are valid strategies. They may not be fun, but they have their uses.
I don't particularly enjoy being camped either but unless my team is really bad, it's usually the right time to do gens.
As for tunneling, well, at least it's an opportunity to improve my jukes so I will not complain.
-
A waste of resources probably.
@AReallyBoredHuman said:
I don't see this working with the type of game dbd is, the better alternative would just be dc bots.
Indeed.
-
I cannot follow the steps. Even if I directly hit a survivor, which is not exactly easy, it doesn't invigorate anybody and the survivor will not exactly wait for the effect.
There is some piece missing in the puzzle.

As you can see by this forum, survivors don't want to adapt to changes, don't want to try other perks. They got used to DH so much, they forgot how to loop without it, so they can't extend the chases by 1 button anymore. They getting salty and tilted. They finding exuses in "tunneling" or "killer buffs".
Other survivors are indeed a good survivors who still doing great, they escape killers the same way as before, they trying to find new builds they play smart.
Seems like you're the one of them, and I like you.
Thanks but I think it's kind of natural when you play both roles. (And now that I play a bit more killer again, I can see the builds of my tricky opponents : a bonus)

Yeah, like every other thing that's ended this game so far. Frame rates, Dead Hard validation, boons, tunneling, camping, Boil Over, Undying, the first DS nerf, SWF, Epic Games Store, K-Pop...
If the kill rates are too high, which I bet they are, they'll walk the buffs back. Everyone needs to chill out and have some patience instead of crying doomsday. Not to mention, half the people I play with haven't updated their builds yet and are still using the nerfed old meta. There's a level of adaption that has not fully happened yet and I'm waiting for the dust to settle.
Killer queues already closer to their normal length. I'm versing teams that are handling themself quite nicely. It's obvious they aren't used to their new builds yet but it's coming along. I've got a 3 escape against my Blight (granted, I'm not very good with it) and a two against my Nurse. The latter is a decent score given it's still early. Speaking of what's good against a Nurse, OTR helped them quite a bit and so did two almost perfectly timed DH.

Yeee, man. Tell them.
Full disclosure : I'm struggling too. I had a few builds of my own (OTR, Lucky Break, Sprint Burst, BT) and the video kind of completed the missing pieces.
-
If you are struggling, go check CoconutRTS's last video. It may help.
-
Sorry to say it's not a new idea (but thumbs up for having it)
Alas it doesn't work for several reasons. One being it can be exploited.
-
The new Dead Hard works, it's just that now one needs skills to use it. I've just seen some demonstrations from Ayrun and CoconutRTS has made a video with some useful tips, one word being about DH.

Oh gawd.... does every survivor main have to ask this question individually and expect a personalised answer?
Her hits should count as M2 attacks, not M1, I mean, if Blights rush attack counts as M2, why doesn't Nurses?
She's literally slower than survivors. She is the only killer that is literally slower than survivors. How do you expect her to get M1 hits when she's literally slower than survivors without her blinks??
Blight is a 115% killer. He can literally walk up to survivors and smack them upside the head like most of the other killers. That's why his special doesn't count for basic.
Honestly, if this is the shallow depth of understanding, it's no wonder there's so many complaints about Nurse. Survivor-mains simply refuse to step out of their bubble and look at any other factor other than "duuurrrr... my standard looping skills are no good any more"
To be fair, given the debacle without the old DH, for many of them they never were.
Once the dust settles, everything should go back in order, except that now M1 killers will not be easy to stamp on anymore. It will be great for match diversity.

Why is it only survivors that ever need to "git gud" why does this never apply to killers?
More or less since June 2016, with a few exceptions. Are you per chance only playing survivor?

@Biscuits said:
They just showed us that 56% of the player base is soloQ survivors, and people on the forums don't understand why survivor mains are quitting. We were told this patch was going to make camping and tunneling harder, so that soloQ survivors felt like they had tools to deal with it. What it ended up doing was not touching camping at all, and actually making tunneling something you should do. On top of making killers stronger and nerfing your best tools to deal with tunneling.
Anyone telling you to calm down and stop whining, is not doing you any favors, they are trying to shut you up.
Where did they show that?
-
A "trend". You've versed so many Nurses these last few days? What's a trend? Two? More? Were there four escapes each time?
The devs have statistics, singularities are automatically ignored in these (as DCs are).

Also, you're free to urban evasion and blend in a generator simulator. Don't tell me how I should play or what I should enjoy, or try to adapt to.

I will play around wirh those perks. Thanks! I played around with OTR last night. I was also having fun with Overcome.
I didn't try Overcome. The need to get hit once to get some benefit without much control over the timing seems less than ideal. I fear it would not hold against a Nurse, whereas zooming away before a hit may deter her from chasing and make her switch target. Although ... it would trigger with Lucky Break ... mmmh. It may be better than I imagine.

Yes, it's exactly what I've said. I like playing with handicaps that are worse than no perk equipped at all 🙄
Instead of trying to adapt and rise to the challenge, pout an cry. It'll go well.
-
If you want to try builds, OTR and Lucky break are looking good.
Sprint Burst and Lithe too (although SB needs to be used properly)
Look into Hope, Lightweight, Quick & Quiet, Dance with me for vanishing (some combination)
Look into BT, Breakout, WGLF to help others.
Someone suggested SB, Fixated an Lightweight but I've not tried myself yet.

Question: how do you think you're being given that time to do said gens?
Because what this sounds like to me and what I hate to see in my games when I play survivor is myself and one or two other survivors are on death hook taking turns in chase and theirs some survivor urban evading around the map (sometimes doing gens, most of the time not) who hasn't taken aggro yet and needs to take their turn in chase so someone else has a chance to do gens.
Trust me, I hate when my teammates don't do gens as well but if you're doing 4 gens solo, then someone or multiple someone's are buying you hella time
If it's like some of my games, the killer is looking all around for urban-evasion survivors and not finding me when he comes close to my generator. (The mighty power of Claudette)
Yet I do 2 or 3 generators all by myself. (And then I get caught, hooked, unhooked at the worst possible time and die.
Thankfully these kind of games have become more rare.
-
Agreed. It feels like a step back. Even if the prestige means nothing, it will still have an influence on the perception of some players.

Wasn't there yesterday a Twitter message that now killers get the 100% bonus message instead and that they kill switched it again?
I was getting 100% bonus as survivor but the queue was slow and my killer queue was faster.
-
Absolutely not, for all the good reasons already explained.
The real trick is to find a way to make solo more coordinated.
Some helpful status icons like "move your ### from that gen and go help your team". I've seen too many games where this lack of awareness killed a team (both as killer and survivor).
Another possibility is to send a delayed notification a survivor has a direct line of sight on the killer or is being chased.
Maybe the first one would require to point at him so there isn't an automatic radar if the killer is inconspicuous. The delay would be because even an SWF doesn't communicate at the speed of light. It takes one or two seconds at least.
The second one already exists but is for the obsession only. It should be extended.

There is a bug-report about this that you can up-vote if you want.

Survivors need to adapt and find the new META, or wait for someone to tell them.
And yes, the DS stun of 3 seconds feels ridiculously low.

This would explain why a Clown was repeatedly hitting me with his antidote. Curious to try and confirm.

So we should balance survivors being a 4 man team around the idea that only 2 understand what to do, what happens when 4 good survivors get together in swf?

It does seem to be that losing chase is going to be more important then lasting longer in chase
I hope i see more tricky houdini type builds. Those are fun to play
I would argue it has always been the case but killers used to be "mostly harmless" so with a little skill they could be kited for a while. (With a few exceptions.)
Now it's probably still possible but it requires more skills to do, so not being seen or being able to vanish without a trace is the safest way. As a bonus, Nurse which is so difficult to understand for many players is weak against stealth.
By vanishing the killer has the choice looking around "forever" or trying to find someone else.
The term "guerilla tactic" comes to mind. Legion may become a favorite.
-
Beside builds and tactics, try this rule:
Do not kill a survivor until there are only two generators left.
Even if you get the same survivor twice in a row, don't do it a third unless it's killing time. Ignore him. Slug him if you need to (e.g. he is on a generator or on bones)
That way he can still play and you can opt going for a kill when it's needed.
Everything else is about your build/skills with the killer.

There is no meta. Except BT and Off the Record every reworked perk is F tier. Useless and trash, compared to the previous meta.
I mean, PHARMACY. And Behaviour thinks this replaces or even comes near (old) Self Care, or offers any true value whatsoever.
Literal, actual OmegaLOL
Compared to the busted DH? Hopefully nothing is as strong. But there are pretty good perks and combinations to try. (Along with the appropriate associated tactic)
