So is P11 basically a P3 Survivor that has every perk unlocked in the conversion?

    Basically

Spirit used to be the 2nd best killer in the game (of course only behind the unbeatable nurse) because she could run stridor and she could still hear you grunt if you ran iron will. With the new iron will nerf, not only can spirit hear you with stridor, they dont even need to run stridor because nobody will run iron will. We are back to if spirit gets 1 hit on you the chase is over.

    Spirit is fine now.

It was clear from the start that it will not be a cosmetic or charm. So this eliminates everything what others might see.

And it was also clear that it will not be a big reward, because there are others who did not prestige for a reason and they would be missing out on something when it was a big reward.

So I dont really know what you expected, but expecting something very big or a Cosmetic/Charm was just wrong and you should have known it. Your fault if you decide to prestige last-minute.

I was personally upset with it the post game icon. I thought it wasn’t worth prestiging anyone tbh. I wanted a bloody prestige portrait for the killers and survivor that were at p3. This will do I like the portraits.

  • @Digfish said:

This is so disappointing. Honestly it feels kinda like a betrayal. I feel like they deliberately didn't show us what the "reward" would be because they knew it was so bad that people would be angry.

It's literally something that nobody else sees unless you are a streamer. And it's just the laziest looking effect anyway.

So bummed that I wasted all of my mains' items and perks trying to get them prestiged in time for this.

    What reward did you want?

So why is it that a lot of the camping happens while 5 gens remain up? Huh?

What say you about that one? Because it happens often.

If I told a child they can have one of the bags of candy on the table, and one of them is full and the other has like 5, which one do you think they are going to pick? Like, it's not that complicated. The devs should never design a mechanic based around the attitude you are going to have during that match. That is bad design, plain and simple.

Aka the Myers the camped me at 5 gens even in a 3v1 screenshoot lmao

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331494/if-you-want-less-tunnelers-add-a-reason-not-to-tunnel

There is a subset of players who only want to ruin other players game experiences. These exist in survivor and killer. This subset of toxic players was unintentionally given some of the best tools to completely ruin other players game experiences, in fact, they can stop players from playing the game.

Face-camping and tunneling at gen 5, is a god-send to toxic players. No amount of anti-face-camping and anti-tunneling incentives will ever stop these people from doing it.

There's another thread where a new survivor player was camped in all 5 of the first games he played. After which he uninstalled. It's not healthy for the game and it has become very widespread.

    Can u send the link?

  • @AcelynnBen said:

    yes we know she's broken

but she is literally the only killer that is viable, unless a lot of maps get reworked, nerfing that one viable killer is just dumb

have you ever tried to win on the Sanctum of wrath with an M1 killer?

well let me tell you IMPOSSIBLE, the map is so wide, the gens are spread as hell, and the bamboo...is honestly so weird, some you can go through some you can't the whole point is a lot of maps need either to get cut in half or just reworked

and the only 2 killers you can play on that map is blight and nurse, every single other killer suffers in it (haven't tried dredge but i think he would suffer a tiny bit)

so stop with nerf nurse, yea ok nurse get nerfed then what, do u want killers just let you get out free everytime?

but again its not nurse that is broken, its the fact that survivors rely on so many crutch perks that when a killer that ignores most of them shows up, its considered broken, which is honestly just lame, the fact that survivors got used to having second chances and crutch perks 102% of the time is just no....

and yes she does destroy soloQ and SWF alike but again...this whole new meta is kinda just there to screw up SoloQ players more so im not sure exactly how "shifting the meta" is gonna help soloQ survivors and Killers against the unholy quadrinity

look nerfing nurse won't help anything, yes you might get sick of seeing her every game but blame the devs for making every single other killer weak as hell, not the player

So pyramid head artist nemesis sprint pinhead demogorgon Oni aren’t good? If you play them well you can win your games

So... 2000th post. I wanted to make it a big one... reacting to the 39 perk changes sounds good to me... so here we go.

    =======================Killer Base Kit Buffs=======================

Gen Time and Kick regression: This makes sense to me. Currently it kind of feels like you need to either play a killer with slowdown or bring quite a bit of it to have decent length games. Making killers less reliant on having those things is a good thing in my book. The only downside to this that I see is that they should have also increased hook stage duration as well.

Half of Brutal Strength base: Also makes sense to me. For a while now I've been constantly running Brutal Strength because breaking pallets and gens took too long. Also kicking a gen instantly deletes 2.25s and takes 2.34s at base making kicking gens overall just a much better idea. Maybe not if you need to travel a lot to do it but still good.

1/4 STBFL and less post hit speed: Yes! I've not played a lot of strictly M1 only killers recently because Survivors got way too much distance on them post hit. STBFL was an ok bandaid for that issue, but I wasn't super keen on how STBFL worked so I just didn't run M1 killers.

Bloodlust: I don't think this will matter a whole lot. At best it'll help prevent experienced Survivors from steam rolling a newbie killer. Which... is a good thing. Eh, yeah overall this is a good change.

    =======================Survivor Base Kit Buffs=======================

5s of Endurance and Haste: This is good and will help in most cases vs most killers. It won't help much vs the killers who are really good at camping like Bubba and Trickster. I think this might need a little bit more oomph but it is a good start.

    ===========================Killer Perk Nerfs===========================

BBQ and Chilli: The BP tokens for this perk should have been made base kit instead of just being gone.

Ruin: I was thinking to just lower and not remove the bonus regression but... still close. They may have overdone it? I'm not sure. I do however like it turning off if a Survivor dies. 3V1 + Ruin was way too much.

Pop Goes the Weasel: Changing it to current instead of total progress was good. With the base kit changes the slight reduction of numbers was probably warranted.

Tinkerer: I'm not really a fan of this one. I would have rather it be changed to be a middle ground of the too good 70% activation and the not good enough 85% activation instead of this. This isn't a bad way to go mind you... just not how I would have gone.

Corrupt Intervention: This is actually exactly what I wanted for this perk. This change keeps its strength for setup killers with weak early game but severely weakens it for fast chase killers who were also using it.

No One Escapes Death: So, this isn't how I would have liked them to change it... but my solution was much more involved and work to do... so... I was not surprised that they didn't do what I was hoping for. That said I am very happy that NOED did not get butchered and the nerf was reasonable.

Pain Resonance: Honestly, I think this change will hurt DMS more than Pain Res. I would have rathered they just knock the regression percentage instead but... oh well.

    =======================Survivor Perk Nerfs=======================

Dead Hard: Yes. Yes. Yes. (Probably) No more Dead Harding to make windows and pallets you otherwise couldn't have gotten to. Love it.

Decisive Strike: I don't know if the stun reduction was necessary. The rest of the changes are good in my opinion.

Borrowed Time: This in addition to the base kit changes are... honestly a buff. Yes, BT will be less necessary because of the base kit buffs but current BT < new BT. It's a bit weird that they're kinda buffing BT.

Iron Will: On the one hand, current Iron Will makes any other grunts of pain reduction irrelevant. On the other hand, this is... not good. Like... the only time you'd ever use this is if you're running with no Exhaustion, Dead Hard, or maybe Head On and that's it. It clashes with all the others.

Self Care: Oh my god. This is hands down the worst change in the bunch. Self Care was not an OP perk... it was merely a comfy perk for people who didn't like being injured. Now it's... well, completely dead outside of maybe still being OK with Botany Knowledge.

Spine Chill: So, I understand the reasoning behind these changes, but they seem severe enough that no one will run this anymore. Any killer worth their salt will attempt to approach from a position where the Survivor doesn't have LoS... stealth or no because even if they hear your Terror Radius they don't know which direction to run to safety.

    =======================Killer Perk Buffs=======================

Overcharge: This looks... honestly very interesting. I wanted them to fix Survivors bringing the skill check with them, but I like this too. I'll be excited to try it out.

Eruption: I'm one of the weird people out there who was using this perk before its buff. Even then the 16s incapacitated effect can be game winning. At 25s it's going to be super nasty.

Knock Out: On the one hand, yes, this perk needed buffing. On the other hand, buffing slugging perks is a bit iffy. I... don't think they should have buffed this perk.

Coulrophobia: I need to know if this buff effects repairs or just healing. If it is both, this and Unnerving Presence could actually work really well together. Also it could be a good addition to skill check Doc. If it is only healing... then it's a meh buff to a perk that did its job well but all the other Terror Radius weaponization perks aren't good enough for that strat to work.

Dark Devotion: This is another where I would have taken it a different way, but this is good too. I would have wanted the perk getting a slightly longer timer and resetting its timer if it is active when the obsession takes a hit. However,... it activating on special attacks is a pretty nice buff too.

Jolt: Honestly I was surprised to see this perk on the list at all. However this is a nice QoL buff for this perk. No complaints here.

Lethal Pursuer: I actually thought this was on here because it was going to get nerfed. This buff is pretty nifty. I can easily see speedy chase killers running this and BBQ together.

Gift of Pain: This is a good buff. Right way to go with it. I will say though that I think this perk isn't seen much because of CoH's existence and Pinhead being a not very popular DLC than its power level. But this is nice.

Thanatophobia: I would have preferred a partial rework to frontload more of the slowdown so other killers can use it besides Legion and Plague. This minor buff is nice for those two though.

Monstrous Shrine: This did need a rework. However I don't think this was the way to go. The one thing keeping this from being a dumpster fire is the range requirement. However as it stands, this is basically a combo piece for other Scourge Hooks so Basement always are Scourge Hooks. That's pretty nice. However, my issue with this direction for the perk comes from the fact that this is the only Scourge Hook perk killers can get with only BP... and it's yet another combo perk in the base killer set.

    =======================Survivor Perk Buffs=======================

Calm Spirit: This isn't a buff. Silent actions aren't worth doing them at 70% speed. I have no idea why they did this.

Saboteur: Anti Scourge hook tech is not bad. They should still change this so it goes on CD after a successful sabotage but this is pretty neat.

Botany Knowledge: That... is one pretty hefty buff. Nice.

Off the Record: They really wanted to replace DS didn't they? The wording on this doesn't really indicate that it won't give Endurance if it gets used first hook. That alone makes it just better than current DS and DS is getting nerfed. Also I don't love that they've completely moved the perk away from "DS for stealthy people" to DS 2.0. This is probably going to be meta but wish they had reworked a different perk or just added a new one.

Lucky Break: Pretty solid buff here honestly. It being a perk you have to build around to actually use but then it dies half way through the match was pretty rough. This helps with it not completely dying. However... with Iron Will nerfed to only 75%... that could indirectly kill Lucky Break. We'll see.

Pharmacy: That looks promising. I don't know how good it'll be, but it looks promising.

Sole Survivor: Fits the theme of the perk. However... who does gens if you're the last one alive? You're probably either looking for hatch or doing a gate because the killer stomped the hatch shut. That bit is weird but the exit gate buff is good for what the perk does.

Lightweight: Assuming the notes have a typo and rank 3 of Lightweight makes scratches disappear 5 seconds sooner... this looks pretty good. It's backwards in the notes though so if the notes are right, we've got an Old Discordance situation going on.

Deja Vu: Assuming the repair buff turns off when the aura reading does, this should be a neat buff to a perk that needed a little extra something. Otherwise it could be a bit of a problem.

No One Left Behind: So,,, overall I like this. However, I see a potential problem. That being This + Survivor Base Kit buff and BT + Guardian = Survivor running at 121% speed for a good bit post unhook. That's faster than every killer in the game if they don't have or aren't using a mobility power. That could be really dumb and busted.

Dark Sense: Honestly 10/10 change. Aura reading when gens get done isn't necessarily going to be useful. Aura reading when the killer is close will probably be useful every time.

Tenacity: I didn't think it really needed a buff, but this is a fine buff for it to get. Half the time slugs are silent anyway though.

Hope: How often does end game last over 2 minutes? I mean this doesn't look like a bad buff but I'm not sure how useful it will be.

Overzealous: Another reason to not use Hex Perks. Kidding aside people did the math, this needed a buff... I don't think this was really a good way to go though because it is back to its mostly dead self if the Killer doesn't have a Hex or if a buddy breaks the Hex before you can.

We're Gonna Live Forever: That's pretty cool. This and BBQ should have gotten their tokens put into the base kit... but other than that this looks pretty good.

    =======================Overall Impressions=======================

In my opinion, these changes are generally very good with a few changes here and there that are... baffling at best and terrible at worst. I'm hoping Behavior listens to feedback on the weird ones... but overall, I'm excited for all of this.

    Congrats btw

    Hi there,

I just have a quick question, Billy is currently my main killer, but I have never felt the need to prestige him. I understand that since I have all perks on him, and have put a lot of points on him that he will automatically hit whatever prestige he would have been if I prestiged him.

I'm a completionist, admittedly, and I want the emblem on him. Right now without a doubt Billy would probably hit like P6 easy off the bat. If I don't prestige him and I just pump a few more BP in him before the change, will I still get the emblem, because I spent enough that it would have easily been P3, or do I have to P3 him and lose all my engravings?

    Thanks so much.

No he wouldn’t he needs to be at p3 before the update

    7E65FC12-948E-4400-B917-1694C9362DEB.jpeg

Like that demogorgon. Pyramid has a lot of the perk and even if he gets to p3 with the perks it won’t count because he want p3 before the update

So a few attentive people may recognise this from a comment I made yesterday (technically it was 24 minutes into today but let's not talk semantics). A couple of people suggested I make it a real post because "That's an excellent guide, very well put together." So, here I am. I've added a few more things so it's still worth a read.

This will cover what is, in my opinion, his best build and why, as well as a few tips on playing him & a few videos.

So hey, it's me- GoodBoyKaru, your friendly neighbourhood Pyramid Head main- here to give some swift Tips and Tricks(tm) to help make you a better Pyramid Head player!

For the record, this was made during DBD Patch 4.7.2

    Build

    PERKS

My personal favourite and imho strongest build is this:

    • Corrupt Intervention

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5A01IV8RME2M/image.png

Crucial early-game slowdown on a killer without mobility, allows him to stall the game massively because survivors know that if they get found they're doomed.

    • Pop Goes The Weasel

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FHA7ZFNAKVZY/image.png

It's the second best gen regression perk in the game, Ruin is too volatile to be anywhere near reliable on him because, again, no movement speed, he needs gen perks because he cannot move around the map quick enough, 11/10. "But you don't hook pe-" WRONG. You should be getting plenty of value out of PGTW and if you're overcaging then you're taking your map pressure and throwing it out the window.

    • Barbeque and Chili

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SC8THLXSY3RP/image.png

Now, you could obviously put other perks here like Infectious Fright (amazing snowball), Tinkerer (Undetectable is nice and it helps tell you where to go but again no movement speed) or Discordance (amazing info, can sometimes do nothing about it). However I say BBQ because I like the perk and also because bloodpoints.

    • I'm All Ears

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V90CSL0I44NO/image.png

Hands down the best perk in the game for Pyramid Head, that's six seconds of wallhacks. I cannot stress how valuable this is with his power- that is a guaranteed free hit in 9/10 situations. To show what I mean, I've linked a timestamped video below of where IAE comes in so clutch- continues to 5:16 in the video.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=296s

(you can watch the whole thing if you really want I'm proud of the game).

An honourable mention here goes to Ruin/Undying over Pop/Corrupt. As I've mentioned before, Tinkerer isn't a great perk on him due to his lack of speed, but the same goes for Ruin/Undying. You don't have the map mobility to defend your totems, especially if they spawn further away, and you'll probably end up losing two perks before 2 gens go. Corrupt/Pop is just more consistent in my experience.

    ADD-ONS

So, his add-ons aren't great. The best ones, by far, are range add-ons which, when combined, extend his POTD by up to 2.5m (10.5m total). These are Burning Man Painting (Rare), Wax Doll (Uncommon), and Black Strap (Common), which ass +1.5m, +1m, and +0.5m respectively.

    tips

Okay so rule number one is to not break pallets. Sounds weird but, just trust me.

His power is incredibly strong in a chase- so much so that if a survivor commits to an animation they die. If you don't break pallets (with some exceptions like God pallets) you can do amazing things. Because who doesn't want more opportunities to win a chase, like, instantly? It turns incredibly safe pallets into death sentences

To show what I mean, here's another timestamped clip. Ends at 10:58

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu3X5o9GpjY&t=646s

Learn the range of the power. 8m is specific and sometimes you think you can hit things and you can't. You need to be very careful, especially when playing with range add-ons for so long, because it can and will screw with your perception.

Adapt to the survivors you're facing. A lot of players will fake taking an animation, go to the side slightly to bait your POTD or your cancel, and then commit to the animation. If you turn to the side and release, you'll catch a lot of these survivors out and get a hit. It's really satisfying to do. Alternatively some survivors will commit to the animations regardless, in which case you'll know to aim in the centre. Other survivors will just hold W and pre-drop pallets, in which case you know to leave them because you'll really struggle catching up, or do not use your power.

I cannot stress that enough. If a survivor is pre-dropping W key gaming, do not use your power. M1 killer them.

Don't overcage and don't stress about torment. If a survivor loops you, they'll get tormented. That's just kinda how it works- you stick your knife in, follow them around a loop, and release your POTD after tracking their movements.

To see what I mean we return to the first video, again timestamped. Clip ends at 1:36.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJs4rvkppqs&t=83s

See how I hug the car, turn the camera and use the power to hit him out of animation lock? Had he kept running, easy torment too.

In my opinion, only cage someone in one of four scenarios:

    • You're afraid of a DS (just please don't tunnel I'm begging you)
    • You're afraid of an Unbreakable (much more likely)
    • You can immidiately get into another chase
    • It would place you into a Pressure Point Of No Return (name pending).

What I mean by that last point is that there comes a time in a DBD game where the killer will hit a Pressure Point Of No Return, where the survivors physically cannot come back from the amount of pressure and momentum you're building. The best example of this as Pyramid Head is where you split the map through cages. You have two downed survivors. Cage one, hook the other. Nobody is on a generator, you have a BBQ proc to interrupt the person saving the cage or the hook, and now the last person must save both people. On especially large maps, like Mother's Dwelling, or multi-storied ones, like Midwich, this can force people into second stage and you've won the game at 5 gens. It's more common than you'd think.

If you cage at other times you're probably wasting pressure you could've gotten from a hook.

Learn where you can and can't lay trails. In front of totems and lockers? Amazing. In front of a gen? Not at all, it becomes a Restricted Trail Element and disappears after a few seconds. The DBD Wiki has a section on this which I'll just paste below.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2808XTGCLSHV/image.png

I'd highly, highly suggest reading the wiki page on his power as it's really useful in understanding the fundamentals and giving actual values to words. Here it is:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Pyramid_Head

Finally, learn where you can and can't use POTD. It sounds like a simple thing but learning where you can and can't use it, however there's a lot to it. For example, learning how vertical changes affect it. Did you know if you release his power on a slope going up it'll fail, same with releasing it on a slope going down. However, if you're barely off of the slope it'll travel down it, but only if it isn't too steep.

It's nuts but knowing where you can and can't actually have an ability is, funnily enough, pretty important.

    A few more quick-fire tips:

    • Don't just go for animation lock shots. People expect these and adapt. Be unpredictable to catch them off guard and get easy hits. Like this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U1k10I-zG4&feature=emb_logo

Bet they didn't expect that one :p

Needless to say that was where I hit a Pressure Point Of No Return and poor Jakey couldn't pick up the scraps.

    • Don't spam his power. You waste too much time. Be precise, predict, and adapt to your opponents.
    • Don't spam his trails. You move at 110% and you already lack a movement ability, you waste too much time.
    • Tunneling isn't the best strategy. I know it seems like it because cages but again, you do not have a movement ability. Survivors can and will facefuck generators and ruin your day substantially.
    • Dead Dawg Saloon and Hawkins are both maps you never press M2 on ever. Play like a default M1 killer because the map design prevents you from using your power. They're pretty much auto-loss maps, ngl, unless the survivors really badly mess up.
    • Play survivor. Learn where survivors move and how they path, shoot POTD to hit them. That's what I did in that last clip.

And, yeah, that's about it. If people have any questions please let me know and I'll try to answer them as best I can, though I think this is comprehensive enough.

I used stbfl with him and it’s not the best but the animation is really cool at 8 stacks

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo said:

I'd say I'm happy with this change, but honestly I feel like it wouldn't be necessary if the maps are balanced.

This change will not only help weak killers but will also make stronger killers much more oppressive.

    I like it personally.

I sure do miss the good ol days. There was something about old dbd that made the game more scary. People actually played the game as intended (stealth) and the animations showed fear, the visuals were spooky (blurriness when you look in the distance), thick fog, better auras (a little darker and outlined in black), old running, always fast vaulting, and throwing down pallets at light speed, facing a billy every game, legacy, taking 2 years to get through 1 bloodweb, the lanterns in lunar new year event, the first Halloween event, double pallets at every tile and the extra audio. You guys remeber those eery noises of screaming in the background? And all the differnt music tracks. There would be a specific sound track for whatever state you are in (healthy, injured, downed, hooked, chased, exit gates are powered, stealth). I sure do miss monto and his old dbd yt vids aswell.

There was always something about old dbd that is so much better than today's, the good and the bad, heck nurse had 7 blinks when she came out and huntress hatchet hit boxes were 50 meters wide and those "negatives" created positives for me, memories to look back on and it makes me wanna be back in the good ol days of dbd.

Don't get me wrong dbd now is still great, but it's not horror anymore and hasn't been since outfits and clown release came into the game, now it's a very controversial killer vs survivor battle, toxicity, super sweat and never ending complaints which gets old after a while.

I just wanna kick back relax, put on my urban evasion and self care (urban- which was meta for like 2 years after release ) and get scared out of my pants when I hear a heart beat. And I didn't mention the moonlight offerings. Those were crazy, but awsome

I would love if bhvr made past game versions available to play, it's probably impossible but i would buy them for 20 bucks each if they came out.

Most of us vets all sot down ready to play today's dbd and just have flashbacks and real good memories of old dbd, and we miss it, we miss it so much.

Nah it looked horrible. The maps looks awful and had infinites plus the survivor animations looked horrendous. I only like watching old dbd content from when they put the survivor portraits in the game. Still maps like the swamp still look really bad

Normally I don’t bother posting about Steamcharts for DbD, but I noticed the player count is up +43% over the last 30 days. This is by far the biggest one month percentage increase on record for the game (the second largest is 29%)

That's what I'm saying, FFS, they gave 6k shards to everyone who thouched bubba at least once for 4 cosmetics that were gained passively for free, and now we get ######### for something that I had to spend tons of bloodpoints to do?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3026327#Comment_3026327

I did prestige like that, that's why I don't have all my characters at P3.

Still, I had to lose all my event limited offerings and items in the process, and that is a pill that is hard to swallow right now since I could have simply kept at least one of each for collecting purposes.

And FFS, playing with whatever perk you had at level 50 was a pain most of the time, especially since they ######### up the RNG bloodweb generation for perks.

I swear that icon better not be it

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3025863#Comment_3025863

It was fine because it was the only way to get them.

I'm complaining (and I'm well not alone) because the "reward" doesn't feel like a reward but more like a slap in the face all considered.

Without considering the fact that they stated that the reward would not have been a cosmetic one, but an icon IS a cosmetic, no matter what they say to defend themselves.

I'm not entitled if I'm saying that an icon is a ######### "reward" for what we had to do. They chose to reward the efforts of people who prestiged, I can point out that they are not doing it properly.

Imagine losing all your addons, items and perks (so about 5 million bps) and the reward is a logo. It’s not enough compensation. Think about it. The bubba mask gave everyone 6k shards. That reward is better than this garbage

I love playing as and against pinhead. Unfortunately I get a ton of crappy teammates in solo que. I find him fun

First one was Nurse, who used Midwich. But we found her totems so early, she dc'ed.

Second was Claud with flashlight. She bm'ed and t-bagged killer. When killer facecamped her, she dc'ed.

And last one this. Game was going okey actually, my boon was active and we already finished 1 gen without hook. But this guy wanted ruin game for everyone. Slinger was nice and he let us go.

    • It is a Multiplayer game.
    • It is a cheap Multiplayer game (at least the Basegame). Games which have a high Base-Cost are usually less toxic (if you pay 80 Bucks to play a game you will think twice if you want to be toxic to risk getting banned)
    • It is an easy game with low skill needed, which means that players dont have to focus that much and get bored earlier, which results in them more likely being toxic.

People just like making the other side feel bad for no reason

  • @TheSpectre said:

Here's what i know right now, i hope (exactly i fear) i understood everything correctly:

All characters on P3 before the update will receive some kind of icon. Ok, that seems some kind of useless reward for the grind - remember the grind was: doing at least 3x50 bloodwebs to reach P3, while loosing all perks and unused addons/offerings after each step.

Chars not on prestige are now forced to prestige because of a special bloodweb, but they retain all perks and addons/offerings while gaining a prestige level. So this isn't any disadvantage.

Now what really bothers me: you said that you'll give free prestige levels to chars depending on the number of perks they have. So people that never prestiged get the prestige for free now and keep their stuff.

If this are the facts i think this special icon doesn't reward you for going the hard way (like legacy did long ago), it just flags you as a fool for wasting your time and loosing your stuff.

The reward is a slap to the face. Not worth getting to p3 before the update

I flashlight click the heck out of everyone. Flashlight click the killers and my survivors. I know that a lot of people see it as toxic, but if killers didn't see it as toxic that would be even better. I'm not sure why I do it, but I'd still like to be on decent terms with the killer by the end of the game, and if they DC after I flashlight click I do feel kind of crappy.

But it's like. It's just there's no real way to emote or gesture or do anything in this game? Our only way to really exist is through flashlight clicking or teabagging. Now obviously I don't tea bag, but I just love to click click click. At pallets, right before going down, before unhooking the fellow survivor, in between skill checks while working on gens. It's just really really fun to clickly click.

Again, I know some people mean it as a mockery, and I know that killers may see it as toxic. But I'll keep on using my flashlight despite that (Not because of it.) If there was a way to signal, 'No toxic, only clicky' I would. So far my method has been to click it towards the sky when using it at killers, a few killers have made comments in the post game saying 'I saw the bat signal!' which means it kind of works some of the time.

I like to teabag ghostie, he does it back, lots of fun. Greatest insult is a ghostie that won't teabag back honestly. I've only ever hit people on hook when I was beyond tilted, and then I promptly made that my last game for the day.

I have had many survivors flashlights click and tbag after dead Harding to a pallet. 😐

  • @Chaos999 said:

As others told, I'm all ears is great on this one, and foods of rage is also an interesting proposition for the same reasons.

I'm not goodboykaru, but I actually main PyH and one particular build I found it's very strong, fun and caughts lots of players off guard is a hex defense build. Basically you stack both trail duration addons with plaything, pentimento, thrill of the hunt and another strong hex such as ruin or devour.

From the get go you trail both hexes and try and keep them so. Thrill gives you time to interrupt anyone going for purification and they'll be busy with the secondary objective the hexes add. You also get tons of easy torments on everyone.

And when you start playthinging them, then it's when it gets fun. Abuse LoS and use punishment on them when they try cleansing since they won't realize until it's too late.

Survivors tend to panic and generators become their secondary concern.

I have actually forced SWFs to just try and brute force through the hexes, but it oftentimes fails or at the very least I take a couple of them with me. And against solos, it's just pure entropy

Hmm interesting I don’t have pentimento as my artist is level 1. I do have plaything however

Oh no doubt, but it's still definitely better to look at a game and think "What could I have done to prevent 3-4 people escaping?" instead of "What mistakes did I make, while I still won the game?" There's things to learn in wins, but definitely better to look at a losing game.

Well this past game I had to tunnel a David out at 3 gens because it felt like I was gonna lose bad. Luckily I got a good cage spawn and as soon as David died his 3 friends dced lmao

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/330732/can-anyone-give-me-tips-on-my-killer-gameplay

Best way to get tips? Show gameplay of you losing. You won this match, so there's less to learn. You learn more from losing.

True but I made a lot of mistakes in this game as well. I should put some of me losing tho

  • @Brokenbones said:

    Hey

I want to start by saying two things:

You played very well overall, you maintained a constant pressure throughout the majority of the match and punished the survivors for grouping up/being too altruistic. Overall this team really lived and died by altruism and it really shows. Not to mention you had a good 3 gen locked down and kept the survivors there for 80% of the game.

That being said, here are some tips/things I noticed:

    • Ditch STBFL on PH, judging from your playstyle - you're better off with an information perk that'll help you keep track of everyone throughout the match. I'd recommend Floods of rage if you have it, alternatively Plaything would also fit right in. STBFL also falls off the better you get with PH bc hitting people with judgement is better
    • You respected Nea's DS even though you were at 4 gens + could've forced torment onto her. Put a trail infront of the locker then eat the DS. (That's what I would've done anyway) - You decided to chase Cheryl who hadn't been hooked once which could've backfired. Thankfully it didn't!
    • You caged Cheryl instead of hooking her on your side of the map, you sent her to safety and she got a full reset off shortly after. Not a bad play but again could have backfired if the game state were more in the survivors favour.
    • You swung at Kate when you saw her use DH earlier, leading you to eating a stun. No biggie but worth keeping in mind.

Yeah I was only using stbfl because I thought I looked cool😂 I might swap it for I’m all ears. The nea was giving me trouble at the main building and idk how to loop that honestly. And I didn’t think about putting the trail by the locker and forcing her out thats a good idea

  • @JeanCharpentier said:

It is not a social experiment but it could be one 😂

Let's resume the current DbD state :

    • most killer players are trash and are jsut camping/tunneling, like 90% of the game, so most of the time you stay on a hook doing nothing
    • as a killer you cannot win playing properly, it explains the first point, so msot killers just stay around the hook waiting for a survivor an thus doing nothing else

The fun part in DbD is the interaction between the survivors and the killer. However, this interaction is now minimal, at best 2 minutes chase in a 10 minutes game. The rest of the time you are either waiting to die either using m1 on a gen as a survivor, as a killer you are waiting by the hook...

Where is the fun in all this ?

I have been playing DbD for years, the curent states is disgusting. Why don't you try other asymmetrical games ? Why do you stick with DbD while those other games have not those issues ?

It is not a love or hate post, i'm just wondering why you keep playing it ?

    Because the game is good

  • @D3spair said:

You getting fully healed means you're not getting tunneled right? So Let's just add "Getting Healed into Healthy State" into the list of Actions that will turn off Endurance and DS. This would make Off the Record a more fair anti tunneling perk.

They also said that this is the biggest grind reduction they have EVER made.

Why cant you just give us thr Legacy as a compensation or atleast ANY other cool exclusive outfit?

Its just not fair like that, some of us spent thousends of hours for nothing.

i have 14 characters at p3 and it was gonna be 16 with pinhead and yui at p2. The reward is really disappointing and made me stop prestiging

No one was running this anyway, but I'm shocked that no one's talking about it.

Why did Calm Spirit get, in as many quotation marks as I care to use, """""buffed"""""?

If you're doing chests or totems away from the killer, all this does is slow yourself down for free.

If you're doing chests or totems close to the killer.. why are you doing chests and totems close to the killer?

Also exaggerations and making everything so dramatic.

If both sides are op which one is it?

Everyone trying to make their preferred role the one who dominates. Everyone cherry picking things and ignoring everything else about the changes we are getting to push their agenda. This side is dead, no this one is dead. Absolutely unplayable. Yeah right.

People exaggerating how horrible is their every match since forever. No it is not. You just ignore everything positive like it doesn't exist or you are just an impulsive person who always has a scapegoat and needs to win every single game with no effort.

It is great to talk about things and what you think, adapt. But the way you are handling it just makes everything seems worse than it is. It is always a catastrophe, whatever happens, catastrophe.

Also, about bhvr. People in the community acting like they could do a better job with their biases. Sure you would. You always talk about game dying but I bet if any of you doomsayers were made to make decisions, this game would definitely die for sure. Looking at some of your takes that only take one side in consideration while trying to completely destroy the other tells me everything I need to do.

Maybe. I personally don’t think so. I thought dead hard was a bigger problem since I haven’t really seen circle of healing all that much recently. I think I had one game where it was in play yesterday and that was it. I don’t really think dead hard got enough of a nerf and I feel like that perk is still gonna be very unhealthy

Circle of healing shouldn't be a boon, instead it should be turned into a prove thyself for healing - for every survivor within a 24m range of you including yourself, gain a 25% healing speed boost to others.

Medkits self heal time should be 28 seconds instead of 16, and every charge add on should be halfed in charges.
