igenerator.i was absolutely correct in my assumptions on the thought processes of a PC gamer. Thanks for validating my bias lol!

The problem with the hill is that the map generation tries to put down more gens/chest than available. And to spot what causes that in code is one hell of a task (cause it could be caused by the coin offerings as well as be just a random error)
but sliding puzzles etc, yeah, it could work, question is more how to not have them take up too much time? If you ever played against pig, the trapremoval WITH skillchecks can already be a deathsentence if pig knows where you are and pull you off the box.
The whole system would need a rework. Maybe complete a quick puzzle generator automatically repairs itself over a certain amount of time until it hits a certain percentage then stops until another puzzle is completed. With a fixed number of puzzles per generator. Maybe 6. 1 to start it. 1 for each piston. And 1 to complete it.
Killer kicking a generator returns it back 1 puzzle but it starts advancing right away. Pop puts it back 1 puzzle and doesnt start advancing again until a survivor interacts with it.
Maybe tool boxes can be used to auto complete a puzzle
Puzzles wouldnt take but a few seconds to complete.
The time in between puzzles would force the survivors to do something else as there would be no interaction in much the same way that a killer cant kick a regressing generator.

Problem with windup add ons is that it effects muscle memory. You arent always going to have those add ons or you may want to try something different and then you are really screwed.
Not arguing that being able to machine-gun hatchets isnt amazing, just that the timing is important to learn
-
Legion's Folly - For every sacrificed survivor, a member of legion enters the trial and repairs generators.
When the exit gates are opened all Legions stand in place and tbag until the entity consumes them.
And the killer equivalent;
Enti-nea - The entity reveals itself to the killer, any survivor within 8 meters of Nea have there auras revealed. If a survivor would unhook or complete a healing action on a Nea, they are marked for 20,25,30 seconds.
A marked survivor is oblivious and exposed.

Fair point, but isn't that what Overcharged is for?
If the skill check wouldnt follow a survivor who left the gen and blew up like a normal check then yes it would be.
-
Dragons grip is a good perk...kind of. It will be god tier in a 3 gen situation, however I feel it's purpose is to discourage the gen tap while being chased shenanigans.
Problem is most solos have a hard time dealing with a 3 gen, so this will greatly effect them. Swf, will of course have little to no problem with it.

4k mori with devour hope.
-
Spirit with NOED. 1 dead, 1 hooked both gates opened. 1 on floor crawling to exit. Solo.
I take a quick run around the map looking for totem. Dont find it. Notice she keeps picking up the slug to prevent him from leaving. Make my way to the hook and wait for her to pick up the slug again. She does but sees me and drops him. Comes at me but hits the hooked person in animation. I run away. Unhooked protects the slug with the borrowed time and we all escape. That was satisfying lol

Crazy ideas....hmmmmm......
Add on to bring back og Freddy
Offering to start all gens at 50% but they regress until they get worked on but lose all progress if the gen isnt finished.

Freaking pirate themed killer!

I play solo so when i dont know who the killer is and i trigger that first trap i levitate. Then i spend the rest of the game expecting it.
I run spine chill almost all the time so no one else scares me like a hag trap. Well maybe oni because i play solo and know im not escaping that game.

Like on most other channels you'd find comments that have a gag/joke/irony to it which get the most attention, but idk. It is just me who noticed that?
To be fair tru3 doesnt exude or even encourage humor. Most other streamers get a little excitable or inject personality. Tru3 is all business all the time. Not ragging on him by any means. Just pointing that out.

Message them...like every other person on console. Can write love letters in crossplay? Boo hoo
Also, it has nothing to do with “people like me,” pretty sure if it’s been 3 years on console, it’s something they can’t do, or don’t care to invest in. So, relax almighty one
Can't messege anyone. Thats the point.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. if you play on console and never play on PC, thank the heavens you never have to experience pre-game or post game chat.
Within 5 matches of playing the PTB today, the following:
Game #1:
Pre-game chat:
"Hey guys, med kits look a little weird?" "You know what looks weird, you're mom's p***y, that's right, get f'ed"
Post-game chat: (same game, different survivor)
"that ######### dc'ed loooool" "?" "eat s***t p****y"
Game 2:Post-game chat (killer): "Why did I bring party streamers if 2 of you pussies are just gonna DC. Can't handle a god-like killer can you?"
Game 3: Post-game chat (killer and survivor): "######### all of you #########, ######### #########"
Game 4: Post-game chat (everyone): "ggs"
Game 5: Post game chat (everyone): "ggs"
Last time I played off the PTB (played on PC for about 2 months, months ago) was usually some form of racist remarks, that you should go #########, a narcissist who raves about their body and starts calling you overweight and how you need to look at their instagram and pleasure yourself to them (not kidding, that was from a baby streamer too), etc.
Seriously - if they add chat to console I'm done. That's the main reason I don't play on PC, except for the PTB anymore (and even that, I usually only play 3-5 games)
If it bothers you so much, why dont you turn the chat off?

Sadly, this is the world we live in now. Thanks to idiots with no common sense doxing, or getting people doxed, over the normal in-game trash talking that goes on, that in at least one case led to a death. Game companies don't want that kind of attention, and so now do what they can, in some studios, to just keep people silent to each other.
If thats the case they should remove it from pc also. Fair is fair.

Which is my point. Why are good people suffering because of crappy ones?
Ban the death threats and move on.

Im fuming. I like to tell the killer gg after every match. If i see someone make a good play i like to tell them. If i see someone struggling and turns out they are beginners i like to offer advice. I can't do any of that. Not even to fellow xbox players. Sure i can friend them and then send messeges but thats not what i should have to do to say gg. Or well played.

Because it's not just "a few" bad apples it's much worse than that. And they are even making threats or telling people to kill themselves. These are real problems we are not talking "camping" or "t-bagging" here which people wants to fix. This is much much worse, and we have such an easy solution for this.
Solution ia report the player making death threats. Or if you cant handle anonymous a-holes then turn the chat off. Why does the majority need to suffer because of the minority?

You can opt out if you wish. There's an option in the settings that you can disable any time you're not in a lobby.
That aside, I'm not so sure chat on console would work so well. Typing out a message with a controller can take quite a while, so by the time you can type out what you want to say (other than a short 'gg'), the other people are most likely going to be long gone. There are chatpads out there, but not many people have one.
As far as private messages go, I'm only speaking for myself, but I'm not really a fan of private messages. People have a tendency to say things they wouldn't normally say in public since they think nobody else will ever see it, if you know what I mean.
Many console players have gotten quite proficient with typing with controller. Please enable post game and pregame chat for consoles. I miss being able to say gg without sending a friend request

and now you jsut make one more person use metaperks congratulation because i cant play one match without getting tunnel or facecamped
Not every killer face camps. Outside of brown ranks i never see a face camper. Not all killers tunnel. Yes more than face campers but also most instances of tunneling are just bad luck. Killers patrolling and happens to find the person just got unhooked. It happens way more than survivor mains like to think.
Just like killers dont always lose to swf. Many times they are just really good solo players.
We remember the oddities much more than we remember the usual. Think about a drive to work. Never remember it, many people go the whole drive and get to where they are going and cant remember even driving. But, you remember the wrecks, or the police chases. Human nature

Why would you want to use a perk that is only strong in SWF? Most of the time people play SoloQ, Desperate Measures isn’t gonna fit in the meta right now because of how niche and weak it is, it will probably be one of those perks that barely gets used unless in certain builds. Also don’t you want to have a perk that is consistent all game ?
DS, adrenaline, unbreakabill, soul guard. All of those are often run and none of them are consistent.
As far as swf, most if not all perks are balanced in solo q. SWF consistently breaks things. This perk will be one of those things. Rarely useful for solo but in a coordinated group, it will be awesome.

More bloodweb clutter. Regardless of usefulness its just more BP needed to get to what you really want.

All of the perks look like they’ll at least be usable in most matches. There are no “when two survivors are on the hook and the killer is 32.4 metres away, see the auras of all cleansed dull totems for four seconds” type perks.
See gen auras, heal faster under pressure, get item charges back. All around useful, though whether their effects are strong enough to justify a perk slot is more questionable.
Expose a survivor who touches a kicked gen, freeze nearby pallets after a hit, transfer your cleansed hex to a new totem. Again, all perks that will be easy to proc, the question is just whether they’re worth replacing perks in your existing build.
Ive been on a hex totem kick for a couple weeks and i am looking forward to these myself.

Damn, y'all mad I'm bashing console as if there is a reason not to. That's too bad!
I think its mainly that this community is divided and hateful to each other enough with just survivor/killer. Do we really need to divide it more by user platform?
Whats next? Console players have to sit in the back of the room when they play?
Can we just agree that people on all platforms DC for whatever reason they want instead of bashing people just for their platform of choice?
-
So when a meg was stuck on the hill, before i even knew it was a glitch and i picked her up and got stuck myself. And she runs away and spam vaults a pallet until i free myself by placing a portal and teleporting out, just to butt dance as she drops into hatch, is that not unsportsmanlike? I would have been a jerk if i killed her but is she a jerk for escaping? Should i report her for abusing the glitch? I mean she was last alive, i had whispers and both gates portaled. She was going to die. Instead i got stuck and she escaped.
While we are on it, window grabs and gen grabs. If i get stuck in that animation and dont get the hit or the pick up, the survivor should stand around and wait for me to hit them.
Its unsportsmanlike to run away if the killer glitches.

"Don't do dull totems just memorize where you see them so you don't waste time away from gens, if noed is activated you can go cleanse totem then." Great, except if YOU are the one that is downed by NOED and you have randoms that don't know where that totem is so are just going to leave you on first hook. Just take few seconds to cleanse the dull totems, get some extra BP from it, and ruin a killers end game plan.
"Don't cleanse lit totems until you know what hex it is, could be Haunted Grounds." Could also be Devour Hope that once killer has unlimited insta down can quickly have game become a 4k since they'll also know the area all the survivors will be heading. Haunted Grounds only lasts a minute and rarely do I see the killer down a healthy survivor while it's activated, usually if they down a survivor it's one that was already injured and in a chase. Pretty sure this was started by killer mains so their hex totems would last longer.
"Don't use stealth" If you are terrible at chases but awesome at gens and having safe unhooks then play stealth. If your stealth is locker hopping/hiding in corner of map then you're just useless. As long as you are helping the team you should play to your strengths.
"If you're last survivor don't wiggle and the killer will give you the hatch." Lies. Started by killer mains so last survivor won't wiggle free and keep them from 4k. 😂
If i pick up the last survivor and they dont struggle i always find hatch or bring them to the exit. Not all killers do, but a good chunk do. Or used to.
-
Nope
-
I almost always send a gg to the killer after match. Im on xbox. Now i cant unless i want to friend request them. I dont want to be their friend. I just want to say gg. So i would absolutely love post game chat
-
Against good survivors wait for them to juke before swinging. Thats important for most killers but especially true due to the huge penalty missing an attack during ff can be.
-
Play nurse. Console survivors are never, toxic (for lack of a better word) to new nurses. Games are always off the charts on the fun factor! /s
All jokes aside. For all the bugs and what seems like real life war between the 2 sides, there is nothing like this game anywhere else. Some of the moments between turning a corner into a stealthing Ghostface, or getting that last second pallet stun on a tier 3 Myers are dull but those games where everyone is on an equal level skill wise and you're on the edge of your seat for the whole game are what keep me playing. I take some days off but cant stop playing. Its an addiction for me.
-
Had a meg stuck. I thought she went afk. She was last alive and i had the intention of going on a hatch hunt with her. Picked her up and i was stuck. Was able to drop her and pick her up enough to where she landed on her feet and ran away. I was still stuck. Was able to place a portal and teleport away though. She butt danced as she got hatch. This was suffocation pit

Had this happen just now on suffocation pit. Was playing demogorgon. Downed a stuck meg. Picked her up and i was stuck. She wiggled off and i managed to place a portal and teleport away.

Couldn't agree more, but...
Where would people stand on swf using OoO to constantly update the other players on the killer. Now you're mixing legal use of a perk with outside comms in a potentially game breaking scenario. Just crusious.
In this case, like many people say and get told to git gud, it's not the perk its the outside coms granting information that the game was never designed to give. There are at least a dozen perks made obsolete when outside comms are brought into play.
Even OoO isnt broken without comms.
Not advocating removal of comms. Just saying, game needs some balancing and adjusting because of them.

I'll stick around to see if it's an ebony mori. If it's ebony, I just leave. I don't want to waste my time with a high-chance toxic killer to get 5k blood points.
If it's legion, I leave the second I see a mori of any kind. Their animation makes me feel extremely uncomfortable and honestly I am surprised it's stayed the same for so long. They really should change it to all 4 running out and stabbing them quickly or something.
But in short, I've never experienced an ebony mori where the killer wasnt 100% tunneling or camping. So it's never worth it from a survivor perspective.
When I get mori quests, I use yellow ones because it doesn't feel like I'm wasting anyone's time then. Or the spirit rancor.
So you sit through lobby simulator, take the time to see if its a certain killer. Wait until killer actually uses it. And then DC. Because you dont want to waste time for 5000 bloodpoints. (Which if you play the game you get more than that even if you are morid early. ) Which then after you DC you get zero points.
I honestly don't get the logic?
-
This is the same as grabbing someone off a gen as killer. You are halfway through the animation before the game realizes the survivor already started running away.
That particular issue has lost me a close game or 2.

Your flat out using hardware/software exploits to gain an advantage. But since im guessing the no mither thing is to be able to keep picking yourself up, then i will concede. Yes that would be abusing that particular perk.

in cod you can only do that by earning killstreaks of 4 or more kills and it is for a very limited time and can be countered by going somewhere or using a weapon or waiting it out even 10 deaths in 18 seconds isnt a loss in cod but in dbd standing in front of a hooked survivor with a chainsaw is not counter-able by the person on the hook at all they lost end of story. their teammates may instantly loose the match if they challenge or loose the most important time in the match trying to be a good teammate this does not happen in cod it is not an equivalent.
"Also i never said facecamp if no auras on BBQ." yes you did. that was the sitution you layed out in your original post like this : "If you hook someone and don't see anyone with BBQ and stay near the hook, is that abuse? Nope. That's smart." and im not saying walk to the other side of the map im saying look nearby if that where you think they are but standing 10 feet from the hook and waiting is not ok
The 2 games are not very comperable. I used that example because that's the only other online game i have significant knowledge of. Point is, Ive been in games of team death match that lasted leas then 5 minutes where my team got obliterated. It wasnt fun at all. The other team didn't abuse anything. They were just better players. As far as 'stay near the hook...' I could have used more clear language. I didn't mean face camp, just patrol the area.

The perk is designed just like a anti-tunnel perk, and it is universally agreed upon that it is, also, when talking about anti-tunnel perks in a Q&A, they mentioned DS as one, contradicting the point of being an anti momentum perk. Can't find the Q&A though.
If i remember correctly, someone on these forums that work for behavior said that although ds does indeed function as an anti tunnel perk, its design was never meant as an anti tunnel perk.
While i agree that getting dsd after hooking 2 people is crap, the developers are at this moment in time content with how the perk functions. Regardless of how we the playerbase see it.
-
@zoozoom6 said:
playing by the rules in a way that makes it unfun for other players doesnt make you a saint looking at the 3rd and forth ones you mentioned in particular: for 3 doing a gen in the killer's face with a minute of invincibility from a perk stated to be anti tunneling seems closer to an exploit than playing by the rules and as for 4 they could just as easily search nearby and check the hook every now and then but just standing next to the survivor on the hook and waiting for a save to happen next to you means you are likely ruining the game for at least 1 person on the hook and the rest might just see what is happening and leave you be especially if it is a bubba.
these 2 activites make the game decidedly worse for no reason the rest of your examples are fine but dsing a killer at 59 seconds after he hooked 2 survivors after he grabbed you working on the gen he just hooked someone next to sounds far enough outside the intention of the devs to call abuse or exploit. looking for an excuse to camp a hooked survivor doesnt make the end result better.
i will end by saying refusing to participate in normal gameplay is against the rules and at least these 2 examples are clearly that
So i agree that certain activities can make the game unfun for some people. Thats the nature of competetive (player vs player) games. In call of duty if one person on the ither team is constantly able to kill you to the point where you cant do anything, is that abuse or just mismatched?
Face camping isnt a goid thing. Will not argue that. But its still contributing to the match. Its ensuring a kill. Also i never said facecamp if no auras on BBQ. Just said makes sense to not walk to the other side if the map for no reason

Fair enough then
It's just amazing to me how many survivors will body block with BT and then get pissy when I then decide to go after them. If you're of the mind that everything is fair, I can at least respect the consistency.
If you decide to taunt the killer into attacking you instead of running away...in my opinion, you deserve to be tunneled and killed lol

Not using a perk as intended, like decisive striking a killer when they didn't tunnel, it's just like how people would use PH cages to tunnel.
The Devs mist have decided PH tunelling cages was not the intent and changed the way his power works.
They have also stated many times that DS is not designed to be an anti tunnel perk. It does have that effect but it isnt anti tunnel as sole design. As many threads and complaints about that perk exist, the fact that it hasn't been changed means that at minimum the devs dont beleive it to be a problem.
-

Is camping abuse? Is tunneling abuse? Slugging for 4K abuse?
There are a lot of things in the game that, while you could argue isn't abuse in the technical terms, most at least agree are unsporting. You are certainly allowed to body block when you have BT activated but then don't come whining when I now "abuse" tunneling because you "abused" BT...
None of those things you mention are abuse. They arent cheating. They are just there. You can claim its annoying yes. And if someone body blocks with BT and you choose to tunnel that person down, so be it.
I throw games when OoO is involved. If i tunnel out the OoO user am i abusing the info given ti me? Not at all. Im removing the biggest threat to my game.
