So nothing to help us again, le sigh. These are the notes: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/303-5-3-2-bugfix-patch
For some reason it errors when I try and insert the link here :/
The PS4 patch notes only list 3 things again and they are on the main patch notes linked:
- Fixed an issue that caused the archive widget to appear without any challenge selected when there would be a challenge selected in the tome page.
- Fixed an issue that caused the purchased survivor to be unlocked and no Auric Cells to be spent after getting a "Purchase Failed" error in the store.
- Fixed an issue that caused the player to be able to level up two character Bloodwebs at the same time
Thats all. So nothing. Again.
But hey look teaser for the new chapter to spend money on to not be able to play! :')
I'm curious to see what will happen with BHVR sales at this point - they've shat the bed pretty badly on the last 4 releases (2 being licensed).
I bought the last 2 kills from the Rift refund with no plans to purchase anything else.
-
I'm still having fun - I've started playing any of the other 300+ games in my steam library.
BHVR server lagging?
Can't break a totem that allows a survivor to heal mid-chase?
Hits not registering near Dead Hard or pallets due to spaghetti code?
General stupidity from over-tuned perks making the game not enjoyable?
esc > Leave Match > congratulate the survivors on their win > alt+F4 > enter
-
- Corrupt (Generally good slowdown)
- Deadlock (Generally good slowdown)
- Monitor (allows you to get in closer range & more FoV)
- Whatever (I generally run Nurse's Calling)
- Add-ons: Soda & Autograph (Cuts the hits needed to down in half)

Once I learn to actually play him, I will.
His best build is playing Huntress. Fact.
-
To the contrary, I'm glad to see BHVR found a way to fix the bugs - just make the Chapter so #########, no one wants to play it.
Big Brain Moves.

@TheClownIsKing I agree with you on that. At least they're trying to delay it to polish it more and fix more stuff.
But how much can you really polish a turd?
-
If a survivor is on a really strong tile, it's usually best to leave them - unless you have no clue where anyone else is.
Alternatively, hold W - bloodlust will eventually give you a free hit.
-
Not to sound like a dick, but who really cares? Not only is Chapter: KPop meh, the bar is so low for the dev team - they could brick our computers... and maybe a quarter of the base would be really surprised.
Take an extra week, an extra month, and extra year - or feel free to skip pushing another unfinished DLC and work on fixing the game.
-
I can appreciate the thought put into this, but the Twins need to be completely deleted and reworked. BHVR did the normal BHVR thing of recycling an old mechanic, but they did an especially ######### job here - the Twins are an infinitely inferior version of Demogorgon in virtually every scenario.
Honestly, given the limited abilities of the BHVR Dev team, the best possible outcome we could get here would be making each twin a regular M1 killer, benefiting from all the perks, but you have to somehow build up the ability to swap between them (a la Oni). Even then, they'd still be boring and mid-tier (at best). They have limited mobility, no lethality, and they are completely reliant upon slugging for map pressure.
In their current iteration, the Twins mechanic feels similarly clunky to the old Doctor - which shows just how much attention BHVR is paying to the product they're putting out. But that's what you get when you combine a rabid horror fan base, a D+ quality dev team, and virtually no market competition.
-
I generally cycle through all the killers apart from the Twins - they're just dogshit.
If you ever want to play the Twins - just play Demogorgon. Demo is an infinitely better version of them in every way. The only thing you miss is blocking loops - if the survivor forgets the 'W' key exist.
-
26x was the charm - I finally got a Pyramid Head that let me complete.

It seems, playing with atleast one SWF would be beneficial for this.
Alternatively, soft-throwing while having WGLF equipped could also do the trick. (follow someone that is about to get downed, apply pressure on the killer, hope they don't pick up, trade their down state for your own/injured state)
Empathy, WGLF, Unbreakable, and FTP - doing exactly what you said - problem is the ability to do this is ENTIRELY up to the killer, nothing I can do affects this.

You say that until hes torturing you to make you scream so he can have some sounds for his music.
So spoopy. I'll stick to killers that are hulking beast or a sadistic genius. You can keep the killers destroyed by a bad SoundCloud review or a prescription for Prozac.

I would propable be able to beat up most of the non supernatural killers in the game so could David for example. The Trickster is far more evil and cruel then the most killers in this game and his attractive looks makes the twist even better because he kinda "lures" you with it.
You must be in the demographic the killer is meant for then. I'm not a tuff boi so, I don't think I can beat anyone up.
I still wouldn't sit next to KPop on a bus; however, it's because his body spray is overpowering and he is watching Tik Tok on speaker. The Entity must be scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
-
@Pirate I don't find the entire ascetic of the killer appealing at all. Maybe it's meant for a much younger demographic, but a K-Pop boi with a chest thinner than the Trapper's leg isn't frightening in the slightest.
-
It's not really a buff or nerf, but there just needs to be QoL reworks for the majority of killers to make the game more enjoyable for both sides.
Trapper - Just give him his traps at the start of the match ffs. Why hasn't this been done yet?
Wraith - Why tf is lightburn even a thing? Why can an "invisible" killer been seen running across the map?
Hillbilly - Mostly fine, but overheat is a stupid mechanic.
Nurse - She's fine. She just sucks on console - deal with it.
Huntress - The collision on maps just needs to be fixed. I'm not holding my breath.
Shape - Just remove the stalking cap/survivor and rework his addons.
Hag - She's fine. Annoying to play against good players, but not oppressive.
Doctor - He is more annoying than powerful. The madness mechanic and his addons need to be looked at.
Bubba - He moves faster than SB or Balanced landing... so that's stupid. However, having to click at ~30% to make sure you keep using the chainsaw is equally stupid.
Freddy - Surprise - dream world just sucks. It overworks you pc and causes lag - leading to ridiculous hits that shouldn't happen. Also, there needs to be some spacing/slowdown/cooldown for his traps - they're oppressive.
Pig - I don't even know how to rework her. She has so many issues she isn't worth investing time into currently.
Clown - Increase the # of bottles, increase reload speed, increase movement speed while reloading. He goes from the weakest killer to one of the best.
Spirit - Just make her hair change color and/or make it obvious she is using her power. Guessing games really aren't fun mid-chase.
Legion - Significantly increase the movement speed and duration of frenzy for each additional survivor hit. Don't allow survivors to do gens or use items while needing to mend.
Plague - Make the vomit noise slightly less loud than Billy's chainsaw. Using a fountain either a) shouldn't give a full heal or b) shouldn't force Putrid when all fountains are used.
Ghost Face - Just rework him. The reveal mechanic has been broken since release - it's clear you're not up to the job.
Demo - His base kit is fine, but the addons are garbage.
Oni - High quality waifu reskin of hillbilly - Naruto fans approve.
Slinger - Most hitboxes are too generous on him; however, the servers keep you constantly guessing as to if you need to lead your shot or not. I guess - buy another hamster for the server?
Pyramid Head - doingagreatjob$ofar.
Blight - Decent, but collision is still awful. It's a guessing game for for half the level as to if you can bounce off it.
-
Counter-Point: The DC system is ######### stupid, but it gives me time to play better games.
I don't deal with BHVR incompetence, and I get to spend time/money on a product put together by a competent team. That's a win in my book.

I haven't had any problems yet on Xbox, besides the amount of sweat in games doubling, but that's to be expected.
I have REALLY noticed this - especially when playing survivor. NOED and Ruin are often enough that I actually just started running an anti-totem build.

Hey all
I am a 50/50 killer/survivor player and recently made Decisive Strike teachable. When I saw Unbreakable I was like "hey this is a good combo". But when I looked it up online, it seemed many people see it as a "toxic sweaty tryhard" build on survivors.
Is it really considered toxic or sweaty? I can't even loop properly lol.
It's not toxic, but it is a really not fun combination. Similar to an Irihead Huntress, SprintBurst Bubba, or any version of Spirit.
-
Do you really think BHVR could pull off something like this?
Try falling off an hills recently?

Regarding 2). What if you could press a key to trigger the grunt as a mindgame (and suppress future grunts for a brief duration simultaneously)?
While that might be a fun idea, I have more confidence giving money to a Nigerian prince than I do in BHVR's ability to competently add a new mechanic like this.
I'd rather just remove the sound and still have the ability to vault windows.
-
Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Spine Chill, and Resilience.
You get immortality off being unhooked, 15% vault speed, and information on when a killer is looking at you.
-
I don't play a ton of survivor, but here is what I have since 4.1.1

Damn I didnt realize adults were such #########. First Yeah my life may not have been as long or fulfilling but it has been deep. I have gone through many things kids shouldn't and I persevered to this day. So excuse me if I take offense to an assumption my life can not have any deepness due to my age. And really lottery ticket? Oh god so gracious, I am almost 18 meaning a lottery ticket isn't far off at all and I've already scratched multiple. Dont patronize me due to my age. It is ignorant and B.S I may be the age of 17, but my life experiences matter and so do my opinions, just because YOU have a superiority complex due to your age does not mean anything. You are a pathetic excuse for an adult who belittles a teenager for no good reason. My mind and body is of an adult regardless of my age and thats what matters. So quit insulting me like a child.
Watch your language kiddo! We're going to have to wash your mouth out with soap if you keep dropping the D bomb like that.
Everyone knows how hard high school can be - you have peach fuzz tickling your chin AND you have to study for test; life will never get any harder. We know you're a big boy with big feelings, so I spoke with your parents - someone is getting ICE CREAM today after band practice! What do you say sport? Let's buck up, huh? ๐

Whoa there champ, I am sensing some angst here. We wouldn't want to dismiss what a deep and fulfilling life you've lead, so as a peace offering, I'll let you scratch off a lottery ticket for me.
Let's turn that frown upside-down bud.

Haha just because im 17 doesnt mean im illiterate or invalidated I just dont care about online. Its NOT school and I dont have to act like it. If I wanted I could easily turn this into an essay style entry, but I DONT WANT TO. But I assume youre one of the ignorant people that assume minors don't know what they are talking about?
You're right; it's mostly the illiteracy leading the conclusion.
And I'll have you know, I have nothing but respect for the opinions of someone unable to legally purchase spray paint.

Here's the match in question.
You took control at 4:28:06 and got mori'd at 4:30:06, pretty much 120 seconds instead of 60 seconds into the match, twice as long as you had claimed.
You also were not even farmed off the hook, borrowed time didn't even activate and the killer just got done hooking someone else and you stepped in a trap. I chalk this one up to "survivor error" although I still think the killer was a bit of an ass to mori you that early.
The babyrage to the rest of theSWF is hilarious. Literally walks into the trap he saw being set, and gets indignant that killer didn't eat a DS off obsession.
High-level red rank gaming at its finest.
-
Clown and Freddy are really different from each other - Freddy is more akin to a Hag or Trapper than a Clown.
That said, Freddy is default stronger than Clown, but a few adjustments would see him in S Tier.
1) Make the "VHS Porn" & "Fingerless Parade Gloves" add-ons default. Clown's biggest issue is mobility, exacerbated by additional slowdowns when reloading bottles.
2) Remove the grunt when vaulting. Seriously, why was this even a thing? Literally no one else makes a noise. I love to know which meeting determined adding this was a necessary investment of time; I'd like to stop these meetings going forward.
3) Fix stupid gas collision at windows. Gas can actually float through windows - I promise you BHVR, it is a thing.
4) Copy another killer's power - Now we are squarely in the BHVR wheelhouse. Do what was done with Doctor's shocks, now make a slightly weaker version apply to being in a gas cloud.
Congrats, you now have a powerful Clown.
-
The underlying issue is BHVR is an amateur studio pushing a professional product; the game itself and many of the choices made are pretty reflective of the fact. In direct answer to your question - Killers get upset because the game mechanics make the role needlessly stressful, and "meta" perks (DS/DH/Adren/UB/BT) only add to the stress - rewarding poor play on the survivors' end. A real fix to the game would be to give survivors something other than just generators as an objective, but BHVR is busy doing a pretty good job so far. There are a few tweaks that might help the game in the current format.
- Decisive Strike - Have it deactivate on entering a locker (pausing the timer), and disabled when you begin repairing a gen. Additionally, there needs to be a debuff preventing DS and Unbreakable being used together.
- Dead Hard - The perk is fine, BHVR just needs more hamsters for their servers. A part of being killer is baiting out perks like DH.
- Adrenaline - The perk is just really powerful and does too many things. It gives an improved Sprint Burst (okay?), heals you a health state (alright), wakes you up against Freddy (I mean, f* that guy - right?), heals to full off hook (because of science reasons?), and ignores exhausted state (seriously?). Easy fix - have it pull 2 of those powers randomly from the pool, dependent upon game conditions.
- Unbreakable - Fine by itself, stupid with DS. Disable using the two together, make it an obsession perk, and give it a built in Flip-Flop to compensate.
- Borrowed Time - The perk is strong because it allows unhooking in the killer's face, and BHVR hasn't budgeted properly for hamsters. Frankly, I would be fine removing this from the game entirely and allowing it by default - provided activation required the rescuing survivor to be outside the terror radius when the other survivor was hooked.
-
If anything, I'm glad BHVR does stupid ######### like this during an archive - it reminds me not to purchase a pass.
Can we please get any AAA publisher in here to put BHVR out of their misery?
-
Likely playing Spirit or whomever the circle jerk has recently deemed OP. Similar thing happens with survivors; after Otz's recent video on the super efficient SWF group - every other idiot is running unbreakable and/or object.
It is just the flavor of the month - give it a few weeks to pass.
-
The serum is tied to your Rift Rank, not the Archive completion; however completing the Archive level does wonky things to the game - I wasn't able to gain any fragment XP on Killer for several hours after completion.
That said, if you are at Rift 22+ you should have 30 serum by that point, so you may want to restart the game - if the issue persist submit a ticket.
-
@Dwight_Confusion said:
Can u complete a tome level without doing it all?
You can. I mistakenly skipped over the "Patched Up" challenge, but I was still able to select the Epilogue.
That said, I also appear to be bugged and can now only gain Rift Progress XP as survivor.
