I dont mind the reveal except when it isnt intentional. Like stealthing as the final girl and accidentally revealing him from behind a tree. Other than that, its a fair mechanic in my opinion

Og freddy. My favorite freddy!

Im at 49 and havent started the 4th level. Thing is, the battlepass punishes the better players. The more games it takes you to finish the challenges, the more you proceed through the rift. Im mediocre at best. Really good players that can finish every challenge in the least number of games have a bunch more farming to do at the end. Its all the same amount of shards but every time you fail a challenge is one less game you have to grind in the end

The idea of having survivor stats has been brought up before, and the biggest argument goes something like this: "I want to play aggressive and run the killer but i just really like claudette who is only good at healing and that's just horrible." And to an extent i agree. Survivors are purposely created as skins just to give the playerbase a wide variety. However, Ive always felt that there should be things to differentiate the characters.
What i would suggest is that in addition to perks, survivors would also have to pick a role. Be it healer, fixer, sprinter. These roles would dictate perk choices to a degree, with perks being grouped in catagories and each role able to use certain catagories. There would be some overlap and as a healer, choosing say an exhaustion perk, that perks effects would be diminished slightly.
Only 2 of the same role could be picked at the same time to avoid too many of the same perks.
Killers i dont think would need roles as there powers already determine how they play and what perks work best.

If you mori off first hook you arent going to inflate your rank. You may pip in lower ranks but it shouldn't do too much.
Also bringing a green mori and killing one person usually causes someone else to DC. Thus making the game much easier.

We can debate the issue of gun violence until the cows come home, as they say, but the data is what it is. You can call it propaganda or "an agenda" all you'd like. You've made up your mind, there's nothing I can present that will make you change your mind.
On the contrary. Show me facts. Show me proof. My thoughts on gun violence in America are based on actual FBI numbers. Not personal anecdotal evidence.
I have changed my mind on many things as i learned more and more through the years. Knowledge is power.
Nothing i stated about guns is not supported by facts. Yes i left some wiggle room for suicides because i dont remembed the number off hand and would rather not quote an exact number and be wrong in a topic like this.
Nothing about laws in England is false nor pepper spray in Australia.
So what facts are we conflicted about?

I won't laugh, no, because it's just psychological. In truth, though, guns make you less safe and you're more likely to shoot yourself or something/someone you care about than you are to take down a threat.
It also doesn't surprise me that crime rate has increased.
There is something like 3 or 4 guns per person in the US. And yet more people die to car accidents. Do we blame the cars? Do we blame the car manufacturers?
A good portion, if not the majority of gun deaths is planned suicide. Most of the gun violence is gang related. Which speaks more about culture i would argue.
What isnt plastered all oved the internet is the number of crimes deterred by guns. The number of people saved by law abiding trained citizens with guns.
England took away the guns. So knife violence surged. Then they banned knives. What's next? Mandatory boxing gloves when in public?
Australia bans pepper spray. So what is the deterrent for a violent criminal from targeting a small woman or man? None.
We all hear all the horrible things guns do. Its plastered in our faces by completely one sided mainstream news conglomorate with an agenda.
You can argue that one sided YT channels are propaganda, but no more or less than televised 'news' programs

Play survivor. Feels like they never pop

For Survivor, I would totally love if they would make Powers instead of Items. So you can choose your Power (Medkit, Map, Toolbox, Flashlight, Key) and put Add On on it. This alone would reduce the number of Bloodweb Items which can pop up by 18. Obviously Keys would need to be reworked.
Then regarding the Add Ons, some can simply be removed (like, who would take 5 extra seconds on the Map at any point? Or no Skill Checks while repairing?) or merged together to match the numbers Killers have.
I really like this. Take on a role medic/ fixer /scouter. Maybe the more you use that role the better you become with it. Like medic starts with a brown kit but after healing so much you then get a yellow medkit starting off

Pig will get an addon pass "at some point", I really wish I could say when. Currently Pig performs very well (as in, she's seriously underrated on every tierlist I see except mine, where she's actually a tiny bit overrated), so it's a pass to make her addons make more sense rather than a serious rework.
I really hate how most times the boxes are right next to the hooks. I wish it was more like freddy where you had to go out of your way to get to a box.

Stealth in moderation isn't a bad thing. We're talking about enabling those who abuse it too much here. If you don't do what I've described that's awesome. We're talking players who exclusively do stealth thinking it's the only part of the game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1609828#Comment_1609828
This is a select minority of players that ruin it for everyone. They don't do gens, they don't run the killer and they barely do totems. You occasionally see them searching chest but past that they're useless when ever Spine Chill proc's or they hear a heartbeat.
Normally in most games I don't care but as survivor where it's easy to pip games get progressively harder because the killer is going to try harder to maintain a high rank because pipping for killer is sometimes unfair / unfun. So since they are pressured they really put the pressure on survivors. If a survivor doesn't pull their weight the rest of the team doesn't have fun. Ultimately you could say this is a rank / emblem issue but regardless it's a problem and this is the results of it.
Also if not everyone is confident running the killer they shouldn't be at said rank. It's unfortunate but this game pushes survivors to purple and red ranks without them putting much effort into. I've tested this before too and did the thing I complain about. It's stupidly easy to pip as survivor and this is what causes those rare issues later in matchmaking. Main thing is if you aren't confident on running the killer you better start learning. You're missing out on most of the game if you don't learn this even if it is basics.
As above, stealth in moderation is fine. This is specifically the minority that abuse it and ruin it for everyone else. Those who are genuinely useless and make everyone hate stealth that's experienced it enough. I guarantee you at one point you were tunneled to death in this game and it was because the killer didn't want to waste their precious time searching for that spinechill player so they went for the person actually doing objectives and they still probably depipped because either this person camped hatch or their first hook was their last one so the killer didn't get enough points.
I pay attention enough to recognize people actually doing objectives or other important stuff in game so if I saw you doing what you're supposed to I'm going for the save. Always run BT and even Empathy / Aftercare so I know when a survivor is in a chase. I don't let good efforts go wasted. If I see you do nothing though I'm letting you die.
I will agree that if you are being one with the bushes and not doing anything, then that is a problem. For me, i don't encourage chases and i do mostly avoid them. Maybe i should try more but, after 1000 hours in game, roughly 500-600 as survivor, i can say this. Im just no good at them.
Quarterbacks dont play dline for a reason. Strikers dont go to goalie. Some people just can't perform the chase as well as others.
-
Yes. Its a map offering someone used. It pinpoints something on the map for all survivors to see
-
@Dustin said:
Stealth is a boring mechanic for both sides. You may personally have fun immersing most of the game but as a survivor on the same team if I see anyone on hook who has been hiding most of the game I'm leaving them to die on hook. Most useless survivors who can't even draw the attention of the killer away from patrolling gens. They leave that burden to the other 3.
We're talking extreme scenarios but this is why the majority of people hate stealth. Killer ends up only encountering the same 2-3 survivors in the game while there's that one hiding the whole game and the other survivors think "Why did I get tunneled" meanwhile that 4th survivor usually gets caught and their first hook ends up being their deathhook.
Not everyone is confident running the killer. So they get in a chase and get downed instantly and now they arent having fun. Plus everyone else has to come get them. Its worse for the team for a bad runner to take aggro most times. Its like taking your archer and putting then on the frontlines to tank. Its stupid.
Yes they should get in chases to get better at them. But that doesnt mean sacrificing yourself withing 5 minutes of the gamr starting either.
Also, as a personal story, had a game where i did like 2 and a half gens solo. Had 2 or 3 hook rescues. It was a good game for me. Now i try to avoid getting chased as im not that good at it. But i saw someone getting chased who was on death hook. So i jumped in front of the killer and saved that person. Last gen popped as i was hooked and everyone else but me escaped. No one even tried to save me.
So please enlighten me how playing stealthy is Crappy when i did half of the teams objectives, rescued people and died on first hook for my efforts?

Becoming a Streamer or content creator is no different for the "younger generation" than becoming an author or actor who had dreams of making it big was for previous generations. Or the sports star. Some will make it, many won't and they'll eventually find other work.
I've been an author for close to 30 years. I also spent 14 years in the gaming industry. I'd also written for Marvel and worked on Highlander: The Series in the 90s. I had extended family members who talked like you: I would never make it, I'm throwing my life away, et cetera.
Fast-forward, and not only have I been best-selling, but I've had my I.P. licensed by others. I've made a nice living in fiction and games. If I had listened to those extended family members, I'd probably be making a lot less money, working for someone else and making them rich, and wouldn't be able to work from home where I raised my kids, not some daycare provider.
There's no harm in them pursuing their dream. If they happen to be the small percentage that make it, good for them. If they don't, life will force them into other jobs. If they choose to not get other work and make a living for themselves . . . well, unfortunately there are enough of those people in the world already, and it has zero to do with Twitch or YouTube.
I loved highlander! For awhile I high school it was the only TV I watched. Even dressed as Duncan for Halloween. I already had the hair.

I will try to answer
1) To my knowledge the entity doesnt get much from torture itself or it wouldnt need killers. It molds the killers to play with the survivors.
2) Probably send that killer to the void.
3) Not that we know of. However it allows the observer to exist so not all is known.
4) Not sure.
5) I heard somewhere that clown was the entity's favorite
6) Not sure if the entity dances in drugged up stupors
7) Entity feeds off emotions. If torture gives the entity those emotions so be it. I would argue though that if torture was enough the trials wouldnt be a thing.
8) Interesting question. I would say maybe on this one. I would like to know this one officially.
9) Probably not. Killers are warped and mutated.
10) Currently plague.
11) Nurse (though nothing in lore to support that.)
Im probably wrong but I think im at least close

I thought of this with a pirate killer idea i had.
A 2 or 3 level pirate ship that had crashed into the rocks. With a rocky beach area also. No sounds in the ship but wood creaking and splashing foot steps. Maybe areas of the floor that break away when someone walks over them.
I think it would he awesome if done properly.

Old Legion was better for new players in my opinion since he was easy to get hits with even if he was non lethal.
In the current meta I'd say Freddy is the easiest killer for new players. He has high mobility with his teleport as well as good anti loop mechanics and his small stature throws even good survivors off. 😅
Its not about ease of playing. Its about learning mechanics. Freddy and doc both have ways of making chases easier. A few games as doc and you don't have to worry about windows or pallets. And snare Freddy is brainless.

True, but it can be diffcult for some players to mindgame at first, which is why I generally recommend Wraith. With Legion, you are almost forced to mindgame. I think your suggest is good, but as soon as you get to Green Ranks, people are gonna start actually attempting to loop.
That's the whole point. Get good with legion and almost all other killers get easier to play. Except nurse. Nothing but hacking makes her easier!

Spirit was the first killer I played. I wanted to quit after that. (I hadn't even watched someone play her before)
Actually found playing M1 Billy to be pretty rewarding. I couldn't get the hang of the chainsaw. Still can't! Partly because there's no practice mode... but I digress. Myers was also pretty good to learn with. You could sneak up on survivors pretty easily (especially at the lower ranks) and do decent.
I actually started with OG Freddy. Had zero idea what i was doing. Good old days!
-
@Pulsar said:
I feel like Wraith is actually better for this (and he is stealthy, so it'll be easier for newer players) but yes, the core of what you said is 100% correct. Legion is basic enough that you really have to be a god-tier player to use him against good Survivors, therefore, he is a great Killer to start out with.
My only issue is that playing Legion at low ranks is basically a free win. I know many people DC as soon as they see Deep Wounds and even if they don't, it is super easy to win because of how much they will try to heal.
The stealth aspect is why I put him as the 2nd best new player killer. I just think learning how to get that first hit without being able to sneak up is important for most of the killers.
And really any killer at low ranks is going to dominate except maybe nurse. True Legion seems like a DC magnet but nothing really to do about that.

Well it's faster than waiting out the whole death animation and then having to queue up etc. all for maybe less than 4,000 BPs. Idk I think that's the reason and it's justified because honestly if there is currently no DC penalty it is better for the sake of saving time to just DC and get queuing faster.
Very few reasons that justify dcing to me. 20 seconds of death animation is a stupid reason. In my opinion
-
@ALostPuppy said:
Well if 1 person DCs then the match is already over and the remaining survivors may as well give up and DC or down themselves. At least one of them waited for you to hook them before they DCed to give you the BBQ stack.
Oh yeah and another thing slightly off topic that I see a little too often: if a survivor is pointing to a hook or running in front of you just down them and get them out of the match, don't be a dick. :)
Why DC after hook? The one that got hatch got 21k bloodpoints. You alteady put the time in, why walk away with nothing. I hooked you. Suicide. Dont quit.

But this exactly is the function. If there is an Obsession in the game and the Killer does not have any Obsession-Perks, DS is very likely since the other Perks which are Obsession-Perks are pretty weak (except for Object, but a) the Killer sees it and b) having an Object in the game does not mean that nobody has DS).
And well, your wording "too much passive play"... "changes how the Killer plays".. "Just look at how killers play without an obsession and you see the strength of passive DS." looks like you think that it is a bad thing. If this was not meant this way, apologies for that.
I mean, if anyone asks me, there should always be an Obsession in the game. At least this is probably 50% of the reason why I use DS - to create an Obsession.
I didnt mean it to be like that at all. I hate being tunneled and try my hardest not to tunnel when i play killer. (Unless theres an Object user. They die.)
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594635#Comment_1594635
You literally said killers play differently when there isn't a DS in the game, and I've seen it, they hit the person off the hook and hook them again, as far as I'm aware (I have 5k hours not a lot i know) but that's called tunneling.
It has no power unless it's used, sorry but "there's an obsession" doesn't always mean there is a DS, and if killers play differently and don't tunnel because they're super scared of a 5 second stun that is on them.
Yes. I did say killers play differently. Nowhere did i say that killers should or shouldn't tunnel. All i was doing was pointing out the fact that the 5 seconds stun doesn't have to activate for DS to have an effect on the game.
I wasn't promoting gameplay mechanics, wasn't championing tunneling. I made a statement of fact about the power of a perk. A perk which in my opinion is the single strongest perk in the game.
Do i think it's too strong? Yes and no. A 5 second stun isn't that big of a deal in most situations, especially early game. Late game can be the difference between a win or loss. Which there can be an argument made that picking up the unhooked survivor early to purposely remove the DS threat is a good strategy. (Again not promoting)

You are acting as if it is a bad thing that Killers are not free to tunnel because they might get hit by DS. I mean, I know for sure what happens when no Obsession is in the game.
When did i ever say its good for killers to tunnel? i was just pointing out that DS has a function whether you get the stun or not. There are zero other perks in the game that are as powerful as DS. Its mere existance changes the game.
Now. If you are going to put words in my mouth at least try to make me say something close to what I was talking about.
-
@Seanzu said:

How is 44% overperforming? It means it activates less than 44% because not every DS is used.
DS doesnt have to be used to be powerful. The simple fact that there is an obsession changes the way killers play.
Much like old ruin gave killers too much passive power, DS does the same. By existing it makes the obsession mechanic pertinent and powerful.
Just look at how killers play without an obsession and you see the strength of passive DS.

Had a game last night against a PHead playing solo as always. 3 gens done 1 person tunneled out of the game.
Saw someone on death hook so I took aggro, which is unlike me tbh but im trying to be a better team player.
Ran the killer for the last 2 gens. Got downed and noed came into play. Door opened right after I got hooked. Watched as the 2 remaining survivors sat in exit gates butt dancing.
They left and I died on 1st hook. I get noed was in play but you're on the opposite side of the map. I wouldn't have been upset if they made even a small attempt at finding the totem.
I always say that random survivors are more dangerous than most killers.

Let's run with this idea but give it some Behavioral DBD treatment.
Cost 500 Auric Cells like other license killers.
Standard 115% 4.6m/s M1 only killer Carrie White who has an intense fear of being ridiculed or bullied. Whose base power without addons slows her to 80% movement speed for 2s then allows her to channel and scream out loudly which blocks all pallets within her terror radius for 10s similar to the upcoming Blight's new Hex: Blood Favour perk (Hex allows a hit to make 16m surrounding pallets to be blocked by the entity for 15s). Notice the backwards but thematic design? Look at Midwich Map design - it's what they do.
Enhanced Power: Whenever she is stunned for any reason, whether it be a pallet, Head-on, Decisive Strike'd, getting flashlight blinded AND when all generators are powered. She screams in agony and her entire body is covered head to toe by red blood. For the next 120s she has empowered telekinesis and can do each of the following actions one time.
1) She gains a three time use set of floating kitchen knives around her that can be thrown much like Deathslinger's harpoon by holding M2 to aim then M1 to fire. You don't get a reload having to resort to getting "bullied again" and can only hold 3 charges at a time if you get stunned while holding knives.
2) She can drop a single pallet of her choice by looking at it and holding M2 (She still needs to break it normally) - If it hits a survivor it reduces their health state by 1 (potentially downing them).
3) She can channel her power for 1s on a downed survivor and instantly transport him to the nearest hook with a "fire and forget" mechanic like Cage of Atonement.
4) She can channel on a incomplete generator a single time loud audio cue to everyone that it overheated before exploding for an up to 99% regression from any range by looking at it and holding M2 - the generator has the standard 3s pause in progression. But notice this power doesn't even work once all generators are done.
Addons:
Pink addon "Bucket of Pig's Blood" allows her Generator explosion to have a 3s visual and audio cue that it is overheating but instantly downs any nearby survivors. Another pinkon that makes her knives also deplete 2 health states if they land but reduces the charge to 1.
Normal addons for increasing range, duration, activation speed of her base power. Purple addon that reveals pallets within 16m of the killer and reduces the pallet stun length by 15% (stacks with enduring).
I was thinking darth Vader but this works too! Probably better!

Inner Strength does have one other minor benefit, it avoids being seen by Nurse’s Calling which is a fair.h popular killer perk.
Never said i run self care, just that the op was complaining about time in finding another totem.
Yes avoiding nurses calling is the biggest upside to inner strength but in a pure time wasting sense, often inner strength is worse than self care. Both take you out of the game for a long period of time period of time.
That being said i do like inner strength as i normally do bones anyway. Also i run quick and quiet and head on so theres been quite a few times that ive been in a chase and gotten injured. Jumped in a locker and killer lost me long enough to heal before taking a stun and starting the chase over.

20 seconds to find a totem. 12 or 14 to cleanse it. 8 to heal in a locker. Just use self care. Less time spent. Unless sloppy

I view my progress as 1 tier a day. I havent collected all my challenges but quickly adding things up i am right where i need to be after completing the first 2 levels. Not sure how much extra i will have to grind when i complete all the challenges though.
