Right, so that's back to the issue of do we really want to know whose pants this guy wants to get into.
Although, the one trope I could think about that would remotely fit a gay character would be one whose story is based off of exclusion and social ostracism. Even then, there are so many other tropes to think about, so I'm not expectant of anything.
Again that's over thought though. The main focus of the story doesn't have to be on an LGBTQ storyline*, just like Nurse's isn't focused on her husband, but it adds substance to her character.

Probably not going to happen. Survivors have to fit into a set archetype, like Zarina, the punchy reporter, or Felix, the brilliant architect. That's what their perks and personalities are going to be based on.
The issue with adding LGBTQ survivors is that it's going to be a catch-22 for BHVR. If their archetype is the gay kid, they're going to be an effeminate "hey sisters" type character, which is going to garner much deserved criticism. If they don't make him James Charles, but still tack on that he's gay, it's going to garner criticism for being a diversity hire; they just tacked on the LGBTQ label for no reason other than diversity. There's no reason for them to deal with this, so they won't.
Believe me, I'd love to have a gay survivor who's just a normal person, but again, they either have to be offensive stereotypes or cheap diversity hires.
I think LGBTQ is also over thought in media, which was understandable when it was new in the 00s but it's 20 years later. A lore story where one character's lover is taken by the entity so the other follows isn't focusing on the sex, but it could just happen to be any combination of genders. Something where it ties into the story easily should be the goal. Like Nurse's husband being a blip in the lore even.

It's kind of a graduation thing. Everyone starts out as a chill player, then they learn the game and become a competitive player. I play this game competitively right now, and that's how I think the game should be.
I think I've graduated twice then. Started out chill & goofing around, got competitive, and went back to being chill. My only goal in the game is to get my challenges done, tome or dailys. I like messing around with perk combinations to try and do something stupid, like actually get Power Struggle to work, lol.
-
Machine gun Jane.
-
I play a lot of the characters, but if we're choosing one, Cheryl. Silent Hill is a classic.
-
Agreed. The lobby looks good. Just imagining that expanded; so much potential.
-
I like him. Love his voice track. Hoping his animation will be improved a bit before release. Seems a tad off at times.
Edit: Also, I really wanted that sneak peek track to be his chase music, lol.

In my opinion, Kate would make the best protagonist with the lore we currently have. I say that because of her direct interactions with the entity (her initial escape from capture in her tome, and then her lore itself where she was directly kidnapped). Her description as a 'ray of sunshine' and 'bolt of lightning', along with her perks demonstrate her willpower and as such I think she'd be good as the main protagonist.
Felix and Elodie (The Pariahs duo) could also be very interesting, and I wonder if in fact the other pariahs will be added as survivors (or killers?) eventually. There is certainly more to be explored there.
Agreed on Kate. Either her or Dwight since he's one of OG's and seems to be the focus of a lot of content from the devs in general.

I'm showing my age but i remember when people were allowed to disagree and have a conversation with differing view points, all while hanging around with each other without getting into brawls.
The current my way or no way mentality is damaging everything in this world. Seriously.
100% agreed. One of the reasons this was so refreshing, I think.
-
The way it ended so amicably with shared laughs and understanding each other's view point was weirdly heart warming. I missed most of it, but I'm looking forward to seeing the conversation in it's totality on Youtube, as I think Otz is uploading it.
-
At this point I'm expecting a Drag Queen killer who specializes in Kpop, lol. Quite the different loop were running here but I'm not mad at it. Will just have to see what happens.
I do hope it's at least scary thematically. DBD stopped being scary long ago but DBD has it's own aesthetic I hope it adheres to.

Jesus H. Christ, that looks like something out of a horror film.
I use to love her back in the day. That was from the "Death Becomes Her" challenge on Ru Paul's. Now a days she..... kinda fell off the wagon. It's unfortunate.
-
There are horror aesthetic drag queens. Sharon Needles is probably the most famous one for it.
And many drag queens experiment with the aesthetic even if they don't do it all the time. That said, I'm not pushing for it either way.
-
I'd be okay with them making any of them quieter besides machine gun Jane.

Did you bring slippery meat and up the ante?
No?
Then quit trying to steal my points.
Basically, if you act selfishly, you're not being a team player. So why would I?
But Deliverance~*

I knew this was click bait, but I clicked just to make sure. Twitter advertising could use you.

Bought it already. Enjoying it a fair bit.

yeah, not only they are terrible at bug fixing, map design or game knowledge; they are also terrible at marketing the game, like what's the point of dragging people out from the game to watch streamers, lmao.
I mean this honestly? Why take people out of your game in their free time to try and farm a code from many streamers who were annoyed with the last round of codes. I'd think the appeal of having so many fog whisperers is advertising the game to people who don't own it.

Yes. It just required putting in the code on the store page.
The charm is too small imo. A xmas stocking shouldn't be so tiny.
It is weirdly tiny.

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm so full...

I've mostly played survivor this weekend, and have seen more Nurses than I usually do in a month. Fun though. Also lots of Huntresses and Spirits.

Personally my queue times haven't changed much this weekend. Survivor queue times have just been bad for at least the past few weeks.
Definitely* changed for me. Granted I haven't played a ton this month, but I have this past week. My queue times were great up until late Friday then onwards. I'm on the EST servers.
-
I think a lot of killers bailed because they turned blood lust off for testing this weekend.
-
Sprint Burst is best, and I run it a lot, but.................
Head On is so, so, so satisfying. Especially when you get that save or multiple stuns through out the match. Love it.
-
Ah, this reminds me of early 2000's internet when people were much less worried about being judged, lol.
I like both, but I like survivor better. Killer is a constant stream of adrenalin but I get tired of that after a few rounds. Survivor has periods of downtime and while the engagements can be adrenalin inducing, I'm better at the role? Arguably killer takes more skill and it's all on you. Survivor is overall more fun for me.
If this weekend is any indication though with it's wait times, we need more people who prefer the killer role. Not to mention people would get better rank match ups.
-
This is the fence that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends...
-
All I see are a sea of Huntresses, lol.
-
I agree with Hex. It encourages people to play different characters. When I was first leveling everyone, I'd play each survivor I had blood point offerings on. Because this meant I'd have a mix of perks, I often had to change around my builds, which taught me a bit about different play styles.
For killers, well the different playstyles are always a factor. I only dislike having things locked onto killers like Nurse and Hillbilly, who mess with my eyes too much to bother with. Otherwise, it has encouraged me to get better and try out killers I might otherwise ignore.
All of this encourages more play time and keeps people from dropping the game, if they don't mind grind. If they do... Well idk how you can play DBD longterm anyway, lol. The grind needs to be scaled back a bit but that's a different topic.
-
Cheryl, but I do like to switch around. I'll probably play more Claudette & Feng when I have all the perks on them.
-
Not even a Jason fan, but he's the biggest icon missing from the list.
-
It's satisfying phasing as Spirit, seeing the crow notification, and slashing them instantly. They never expect SFTS, though a good survivor will worry about triggering crows when hiding anyway, but they can't always avoid it. Old Yamaoka endlessly irritated me with it's crow collection.
-
Lots of mid-90s & onwards movies hold up by today's standards, because the dialogue sounds realistic. Things pre-dating that though are often overexaggerated or awkward. Not all of course, but especially 70's & back movies are more about an experience that's not as easily relatable, but can be entertaining none the less.
Anyway, when it comes to the horror genre and DBD, it's all about feeding the nostalgia people feel for these movies. They hit me real good with Silent Hill (albeit because of the games, not so much the movies), and I'm still surprised that even happened.
-
When I don't feel like kicking gens, I've done Thana, Sloppy, & Ruin. Have yet to really play around with Undying, but I'm still maxing out everyone at a slow pace. Generally though, I run Pop.
-
If I can make it to the next loop, I'll save it. Otherwise, it's going down like Chinatown.
-
When I first started playing, I thought they were cool as Hell. So I didn't mind being moried sometimes. Now that I've seen them a hundred times, the flavor has turned into that of well chewed gum.
I have had moments where it's funny, like someone you're playing with who tries to make their teammates have a bad time, or survivors photobombing Ghostface. Just... the good times are very heavily outweighed by the guy who moris everyone off first hook.
-
Supernatural would cause quite an influx of users, their fans are die hard. Jason would be penultimate though for the horror genre. Stephen King also has such a huge fanbase spanning decades, so I'm sure that would draw a lot of attention.
Stranger Things was a big one for this game already. There's a lot of players who learned about it from that release.

The original ghostface outfit is worth more than ANY survivor skin
And in the case of the original, it makes you some what harder to see. Darker black + no floaty stringy things. For stealth purposes there's a lot of good cosmetics, especially survivor sided.
-
Yes. It would be a dangerous predicament to put themselves in though, because those who paid would expect swift results. I've quit other games just because I put so much time (and some money) into them but the company was just driving the game into the ground. If people are monetarily invested then you'd not only have expectations but varying expectations unless they made detail by detail what they'd be doing -- and even then that wouldn't stop some people from coming up with their own ideals.
So I doubt it would ever happen.
-
I'm a cosmetics ho. Have been since hats in Ragnarok Online. I like pretty and/or cool things.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
It's frustrating as Hell but thus far I don't know what would fix it beyond an actually working MMR. The one we seen for a short while made things worse. So, as of right now, the only thing you can do is to try not to sweat getting your butt kicked while you learn. Tell yourself you're just learning right now.
-
I leveled everyone between 40 and 50 before prestiging. Then I knocked out every perk onto Cheryl.
For regular leveling though, Meg, Bill, and Jake have some of the best perks in the game. Dwight too with Prove Thyself. Claudette for healing and aura reading. All of the base characters are useful.
-
Steve's glorious scream. I always try to imitate it.
-
For killer, Spies from The Shadows on Spirit. Who needs Stridor, just follow the birbs!
For survivor, Detective's Hunch. Great stuff on a build for chests or totems or both. I'd say Deliverance but I've seen it being ran a lot lately.
-
Pig, followed by Pyramid Head, and then maybe the Twins. Legion was my first favorite though.
-
If I'm playing Killer and Tapp is dressed in his all black outfit which basically makes him invisible in some places, I'd maybe want to get him out of the game quicker. Much like people do with P3 Blendettes. I've played him a lot though and never felt like I was targeted. When I play Steve, as someone else mentioned, it's a different story.
-
I'd be down. Sounds fun, at least for a few weeks.
-
It's just practice, but really overrated. I felt the same way until I hit it a few times. What's really fun is after you don't play for a while and you derank, you can run some killers for quite a while. Like others said though, just do a little of everything. Get a stun. Escape a few chases. Save someone. Heal someone. Do a totem. Just don't forget two gens. You'll get there.
Sadly I just don't have the patience to get killer to rank 1. Nor do I think it would be a very fun experience.

From a lot of interactions with Mandy I can confirm they definitely seem to know more about the upcoming chapters tuba the general player base.
The position is officially juicier.

Maybe you get info on upcoming content that you wouldn't be allowed to talk about?
Which would be kinda weird because your task is only to moderate this forum
Well, that would certainly be a fun perk at least, getting some early scoops. Though yeah, weird.

The offer sounds a bit weird with a long list of requirements, an nda (!!) to sign, a bunch of internal policies to comply to, delayed selection process, probation period (!!!); and then there is a short "volunteer position" where one would expect to see the benefts/compensation part.
I guess there will be quite a bit of candidates applying anyways, though.
I modded so many forums and chats back in the day, and the NDA thing threw me for a loop. It's like applying to work for the company or intern even, rather than a volunteer position... which is more in line with being a hobby. Still, I suppose some people will enjoy it.
