It was tested in 2016 basically if a survivor was in the terror radius the hook progression stopped the issue is all survivors just ran within the hook area forcing the Killers to camp some even looped around hooks just to waste the Killers time. Once Behavior witnessed how it was so easily abused they scratched the Idea and took the approach of accepting that its in the game but designing perks to make it less unfun as well as the camping penalty in the Emblem System.
Long story short they exhausted the last avenue they had to remove camping as a strategy from the game this is why they just accept it as a strategy now.
The last avenue? They could just make it so if another survivor is within a certain proximity of the hook, the hook stage proceeds as normal.

The Entity is displeased with this thread.

Lmao I've seen this perk once since the update. No way am I taking a perk that's absolutely useless after 45 seconds when there's a good chance you won't get ANY benefit out of it because so much of each map is a deadzone with ZERO line of sight blockers. The only way it could be any good is in a build dedicated to it and even then there are much better perks to take in its place.
The devs caved hard to the temper tantrums over this perk. So look forward to more of the same meta perks you people complain about nonstop.
-
Toolboxes last from a quarter to half a gen lol. "Vast buff" is a... vast exaggeration.
-
I mean Demo is undeniably better than Trapper so it's definitely a you thing. It's ok not to be good with certain killers.
-
Great update. There are a few things I'm not a fan of but overall I think it's one of the best updates in a while. Coldwind and Doc look great, Iridescent Head finally nerfed, no more spamming X to struggle, good changes to Small Game, OoO and Open Handed, some major bugs fixed, changes to Demo and Freddy, obsession every match, etc, etc.
My favorite thing is the reduced rift grind. I feel like I'll actually be able to enjoy the rift and not stress about completing challenges and such.
Overall 8/10 patch for me.

Its stupid but I saw the dating site and thought you meant they were offering special services lol 😆
Hmmmm lol

Btw each time I missed they were also literally right outside the skill check zone, which I find pretty suspicious.
-
Don't worry OP, you're not the only one. I died on hook because I missed the first two skill checks even though I did make an attempt. I thought you were only supposed to suicide if you made no attempt.
-
I mean survivors either risk getting downed in a blocked exit or they have to find a way to wake up. I don't think it should be iridescent but it's definitely not useless and could potentially get you an extra kill or 2 depending on circumstances.
Like if survivors are injured, or you have NOED, and it also gives you time to trigger Blood Warden. Imagine it combined with Remember Me and/or No Way Out for the ultimate end game build.
-
Wouldn't this kind of be a NOED nerf? It encourages survivors to cleanse more totems.
-
Honestly I think it's worse than before. They should have gotten rid of blood entirely at tier 3 and if they really liked their scratch mark idea they could have made it into its own perk.
-
Thank you Lord!

You know what I find funny? The people who very much do not care even a little bit about sexuality or gender identity in video games going through 12 pages of comments to upvote all the randoms who are also swearing they don't care.
If you didn't actually care you wouldn't have clicked on this thread at all.

🥵
Hahaha thank you for sharing

Look-See is kinda hot ngl 😍
Just watched his first season last night

Yes. Maybe with minor tweaks.

Lmao
-
Believe it or not, stunning the killer isn't toxic.
-
Only if there's a Pickle Rick cosmetic

I like her. She could use a few tweaks though.

..

They showed Meg first because that's who the poll chose though..
Also I think they both look good.

Okay

I think he got several wrong. But he knows his ######### so I respect his opinion.

What cosmetic

My bad, I thought you wanted to discuss further buffing Lucky Break. I was just agreeing with you and adding some other needed changes for the game's balance.
Lol ok.

I hope so, too, although 150s would be better for both sides.
Also thinking that 5s is a little low for Victor's stun. 10s would be fairer, given the obscene amount of time it takes to crush him.
Freddy buff is fine, though.
Farmville buff is ok, too.
What are you rambling about?

All chapters are made in advance, as they've stated multiple times. It'd be odd to assume they'd just immediately change content and concepts from previously fleshed out chapters just to make someone gay. It WILL be in a chapter in the future, just be patient.
Yeah, they definitely have everything done for every chapter over a year in advance. It does take a year to write 2 paragraphs of lore, definitely. That's realistic.
-
I hope they buff it to 2 minutes

There's definitely some kind of bugging going on. I haven't opened a single chest in the past few days at least that wasn't a key. Almost every single match has had a key in it where no one brought one from lobby as well.
Lol

Keys are deadly serious.
-
I love it. It's very satisfying to deny a killer their PGTW.

I mean timing is a skill.

Unironically using cuck as an insult lol

Okay I'm not crazy. Thanks everyone!

I believe that everyone I could have bought with shards, I have done so. I don't like spending more money on an already overpriced game. The standard should be $30-40, not 60.
Where is this game going for $60?
-
They're a few paragraphs each and completely optional to read.

Man there are some patient gamers here! Much respect to you guys, I've always struggled with that.

There are built in counters to Franklin's. Personally I jump in a locker to get grabbed but you can also drop your item if you're about to be hit. Someone might steal it though so you can also hide it in a corner until you need it or after you use it.
Do any of those guarantee you'll keep your item? No, but items are not some precious resource and should not be treated as such. I go into every match expecting to lose my item, there's no reason to get attached to them.

He is using 3 different teachables too. But like is a killer having a diverse build really a reason to suicide on hook and say the game is p2w in the chat. Like he literally only knew I had ruin when he decided to suicide maybe he guessed surveilance but I hadn't even used pop or iron maiden yet.
I'm not saying it makes sense, just trying to offer what his perspective might have been.
Any game that has DLC abilities that actually affect the gameplay and aren't simply cosmetic will have some kind of a divide between people who buy most/all of the DLC and people who buy few/none. It's smaller in DBD because the game is not actually free to play, BUT there are clearly some people who think certain characters or perks are "pay2win."
When it comes down to it, though, this guy was just mad because you kicked their asses with arguably one of the weakest killers in the game, so he was just looking for anything to insult you with.
-
Well you are using 1 killer and then perks from 4 different killers ;)
I don't agree with the guy but that is maybe what he's referencing
-
No way to know for sure because I don't think the devs have confirmed, but I believe it's because they view the grind of the game as what keeps people coming back.
Whatever the actual reason is, it's clear they don't see much of a benefit in doing double BP events, otherwise they would do them more often.
-
Some people feel entitled and simply do not care. Unfortunately nothing will ever change some people's minds so you have to be as proactive as possible around these people to not give them an opportunity to force a heal on you.
Most people are normal and stop trying after a couple attempts.
-
Why put a single thought into this at all? There is a form of taunting in every game, every sport, every career, etc. They're doing it to get under your skin. The fact that posts and comments about tbagging show up multiple times a day show that it works and anyone who does tbag will see these posts/comments and think "Good, it's really pissing them off :)" and do it more.
The more people ignore tbagging or treat it as no big deal, the less it will happen.
-
One time I dropped my item for a Wraith as he was about to down me because I had nowhere else to go. He stared at me for a few seconds and then DC'd. So maybe some find it offensive?

No, balancing keys is going to be much harder than balancing mori's for the simple fact that killers already have access to perks and playstyles that make keys useless. There was no way for survivors to make a mori useless, other than never being hooked.
In fact, I actually dont think key's will be nerfed themselves. I think hatch spawn mechanics will be altered. How would you nerf a key? Their aura readings are strong, but not strong enough to get a nerf. It's their interaction with the hatch that would be noteworthy of a nerf.
So, hatch time being reduced from 30 seconds to 10 seconds will likely remain if all gens are done(because lets be fair, once all gens are done, keys are fine). But the hatch prior to the final gen being done will hopefully only open up for at most 2 people. With the hatch hopefully no longer being open to the final survivor if people already escaped through the hatch.
This takes a long time to straighten up. Keys arent really as powerful as the older mori's were, not even close. Heck, keys and mori's are now the closest in balance they have ever been. Mori's used to be the counter to BNP's. Once BNP's were nerfed, nothing got close to the BS that was the ebony mori. It's a bit gutted now, but it's been reigning most overpowered ######### in the game for 4 full years. It deserved to be gutted.
I agree with a lot of what you said so you may be right. I think the most likely change to keys will be that they take some time to unlock the hatch, maybe an amount of time that can be increased with add ons. This would make them less powerful if found in chests, which is what a lot of people have a problem with.
I also think the devs are concerned about people burning through their keys if they know a change is coming three weeks after the PTB drops. So they may have taken longer to change keys because they wanted to be really sure about the changes before releasing them. Then, if they feel the change is not enough or too much, they can adjust it in the following week or two. Basically I think they'd have plans B and C ready if they're not happy with plan A.
-
@bm33 said:
They'll put in ptb. Killer mains will say it's not nerfed enough, survivor mains will say it's nerfed way too much. It'll release to live with no changes from ptb. Killer mains will continue saying it needs stronger nerf and survivor mains will say it's completely useless.
And this will continue until the end of time.
-
@Crowman said:
Probably not.
So far every item rework we've gotten went on a pbe for testing so I can't imagine keys won't be the same way.
I don't think the Brand New Part nerf was tested in a PTB but that might have been before they started PTBs or I could be wrong altogether.
