There are many perks in this game that were released because of the community's complaints. Before Borrowed Time and BBQ&Chili were released, many survivors complained that the killer could just proximity camp their teammates since they didn't have much incentive to leave.
Upon release, Borrowed Time protected both the hooked and unhooked survivor from being downed against camping killers.
In the instance of BBQ&Chili, killers were given the ability to see other survivors TO go after them instead of camping the hook to guarantee a kill.
It's the same with Spirit Fury and Bamboozle. Killers complained that there were so many Pallets on a map that a survivor can run them for 2+ gens.
The developers themselves decided vaults were too strong just based off of the nerf on the survivor's ability to fast vault. People still complained about the length of chases because of the "infinites" like the shack and the ironwork vaults so they created Bamboozle.
To say these perks weren't inspired by the community's complaints is just being unobservant.
Except I didn't say that about any of those perks. Kind of irrelevant. And I've been playing the game for years so I already know everything you just said, but thanks I guess.

Little in this game is more satisfying than personally cleansing all or nearly all of the totems and then on the results screen seeing that the killer had NOED equipped. Sometimes they even DC once it's end game and they don't get their one hit downs.

I can almost 100% guarantee that this perk was added in response to totems being cleansed quickly and easily.
Well if you can find some proof or get a dev to say so then I'll agree. From what I remember Haunted Grounds was directly inspired by a fan made perk from Reddit.

"Totems are meant to be high risk high reward. They have been and continue to improve totem spots. Haunted Grounds was not added as a counter."
Then why was it added to the game. People were complaining about Ruin being found to quickly along with other hex perks and instead of just fixing hexes and making them stronger, they added Haunted Grounds. Now, they've ignored Totems except for changing some totem spots to be a bit better.
What do you mean why? It was added to give killers 60 seconds of one hit downs when cleansed. It's just a perk. Not everything they add is in response to something. There's nothing they need to do for totems except improve spots and maybe change when survivors are notified that the killer is running Lullaby.

I don't think it's supposed to do that. If I remember correctly you could still be seen by BBQ if you were just entering or exiting a locker as it goes off, maybe a possible glitch?
Possibly. I'd be curious to hear from @Peanits if he could find out when specifically the aura blocking is supposed to kick in
-
@Cornpopers_Evan said:
I think it's when the locker is fully closed or just about to close unless I'm mistaken.
That's what I thought too but that's not how it worked in my game earlier.
-
Well they have been reducing infinites and continue to do so.
There is now a built in counters to DS. Rancor was never added as a counter.
Body blocking does not need to be "fixed" as it is not broken.
Totems are meant to be high risk high reward. They have been and continue to improve totem spots. Haunted Grounds was not added as a counter.

As the devs cheaply reminded "summer ends the 21st of september".
There's nothing "cheap" about it. It's not the devs fault people only think of summer as June, July and August.
-
I wonder if it could be like Legion where they are technically one survivor but you can swap skins. That's how they'd get around releasing 6 new survivor perks, anyway.
-
Except if Adrenaline triggers, I believe.

It says "If this is a prank" though
Would be a pretty awful business decision on their part for it to be a "prank." It's not a prank.
-
Anytime you get grabbed and break free you'll be injured.
-
It's all but announced lol

I absolutely love the changes they made and that there are 5 variations. I hope they continue to do that as much as possible with existing maps.

That would be objectively false. Downing and hooking survivors is something every killer can do.
I just gotta say I love how matter-of-fact your comments often are.

You can disagree respectfully though. Which you don't do.
I respect your opinion. I could definitely be more respectful in my approach. I'll try to keep that in mind.

Sorry, you post a thread, it's open for everyone to respond, not just the people who agree with you.

Enough with the attention seeking. Play the game or don't. This forum isn't a place for anyone's personal diary.

A rushed action (to me) is fast vaulting a window or rushing out of a locker. Don't think it triggers on anything else.
Sprinting away from a chest while still searching it, too.

Legion bug was bannable, I'm not defending killers either. Legion bug users needed to be banned. Killers always have more of a impact. So game breaking bugs used to your advantage should get you punished. Survivor or killer. Survivors just don't get punished no where near the amount killers do. Not even being biased everyone shoud be punished for making times harder for other players, period.
Probably because the Legion bug pretty much made the game unplayable. Not the same.
Nobody got banned for the Tinkerer 2 bug, Wraith Sloppy Butcher bug, etc.

No thank you. I think it would do much more harm than good, as others have noted.
I also agree that we don't really need to see other players' BP totals. Just their load out, rank and whether they escaped or died is enough.
-
This is a very well thought out post. While I don't think the game is perfectly balanced (certain perks, items, add ons and killers need various kinds of tweaking), I do not think that one side is heavily favored over the other in general. There are way too many factors that go into each trial, especially due to RNG, to make blanket statements such as killers or survivors are OP. But certain killers, like Trapper, do need some buffs and QoL changes that would greatly improve their standing (for him: holding multiple traps by default, being able to reset traps when pulling survivors out of them, etc).
I have great games and terrible games on both sides. Sometimes I destroy survivors, sometimes I get destroyed. Sometimes I am able to run a killer around or juke them endlessly, sometimes they outsmart me and I'm practically useless to my team that trial.
-
I used to sometimes play with a couple of groups of players I met through the game, when it first came out. Now I only play solo 99.97% of the time
-
This will never end.
It's 60 seconds. Just stop. Nowhere, anywhere was it decreed officially as an anti tunnel perk.

Please do explain how its killer sided when survivors control the collapse ..?
Lol. Killers can open the gates.

Found it! There's a link all the way at the bottom of the site that says "back to mobile" lol. It was with the copyright info so I didn't really notice it

Thank you but that didn't work either. :/

According to killer mains survivors can't have strong perks. Soon enough BHVR will have to release wheelchair survivor as well as survivor with 2 hands broken with 50% penalty in repairing gens.
Leatherface will finally get a survivor and we can reenact Franklin's demise
-
Try reinstalling maybe. Blacklisted isn't a thing, just bans, which you'd know if you were.

I'll play devil's advocate here:
You only want a rework because of how strong it use to be. You want another crutch perk that's easy mode for survivors. How do I know? Because you aren't proposing buffs for other survivor perks that have been useless for even longer than MoM was. When the dynamic of a modern DBD trial is completing gens as fast as possible (and they are fast, you know this already), adding perks like MoM (with absolute no counterplay other for the killer to just "suck it up") just makes the trial a little ridiculous. Let's be honest here, we know certain things should have never been implemented in the game, and MoM was one of them.
That's not devil's advocate, just black and white thinking. The choice between OP and garbage is false. The perk should be reworked into something balanced.

@Clockso said:
plot twist: they made MoM just so people can buy ash then nerf it so that it's too late for people to ask for a refund :>
This isn't so much a plot twist as a glaringly obvious fact.

There aren't any servers yet. If you join a game with 300 ping it's because your connection to the killer is poor.
SWF wouldn't change anything.
-
Wait if that's not an exploit then why was using Dead Hard to jump the gap on the top of the Mother's Dwelling main house an exploit?
Not trying to start an argument, I'm curious as to what the logic is.

I am devotion 3 level 70. I can't imagine how many hours you would need to put in to hit devotion 99.

Killers who hit people on the hook have stuff going on at home, I think. Bad stuff. I don't think or them as toxic. They are just weird.
Mori's are game play. I just got tunneled after the gates opened. Everyone else escaped. Oh well.
Mori spam means starting the animation over and over but not going through with the Mori. Can be done until the survivor bleeds out and there's nothing you can do.

All they've said is what I've heard a million times already for months, empty vague promises. that they "might" do something "eventually" and that's just not good enough. All talk and no action while the game is unplayable due to constant DCs in every match and no penalty.
There is no might, no eventually. Dedicated servers are a promise. Summer ends in September. They have been upfront that these changes will take time and so far it seems they are still on track to deliver on schedule.

For what it's worth: The PC version comes with less content by default. Where killers like the Hag and the Doctor are free on console, they're paid DLCs on PC. The console versions are a special version with those bundled in.
I'm not actually sure where you're seeing $60. I just double checked and I'm seeing $40 (USD) or $50 (CAD). That's about what the other console versions cost as well.
Is the Switch version like the PS4 and Xbox ones? Or will content be different?

I’d prefer obstacles and LOS breakers tbh.
Same. And maybe puppies? Idk just spitballing here.
-
They're just going to say what they've already said repeatedly: they will continue ban waves for big offenders and they will have more tools in place to discourage DCs when dedicated servers come at the end of the summer.
They're not ignoring anything, dedicated servers take time.
-
Not unless they replace it with obstacles and line of sight breakers. Shelter Woods is a garbage heap whether I play killer or survivor. As a killer because I can't see ######### and as a survivor because there are large chunks of the map with nothing for protection except hoping they are as blind as me when I play killer. They're usually not.
