I remember vividly! I do recall saying something about it not being official to try to put out some fires, and one of the contributors got very angry with me here. Like, I wasn’t trying to be rude. You’re not official. I’m stating a fact, not insulting you.
The same thing happened to me with probably the same person. It was obviously not official but Bhvr never really commented on it, to my knowledge, so a lot of people just took that contributor at his word. It's not a huge deal but it's dishonest and, like with the Spirit, people get hyped and then upset when incorrect information is posted there.

Nothing was leaked. They could have perfectly held it off.
I assume its because of release deadlines. Then they ran into some issues, and couldnt do it this week.
The sound files were leaked. I originally thought they were Pinhead sounds but it turned out to be ST.

They posted the Spirit launch date as September 11th last year, a couple weeks beforehand. The 11th came and went and people threw a fit when the chapter didn’t come out. It was pretty chaotic.
Not a malicious attempt to spread misinformation, but a little careless about advertising dates that don’t always pan out.
Yes, thank you, that was one of the specific times I had in mind. People were pissed.
-
@Mr_K said:
Any examples of deliberate misinformation?
I didn't say "deliberate." They've gotten event information, like how the objectives work, and release dates of DLC wrong before. And right now they have posted dates for a Bloodhunt that Peanits has said isn't accurate because they haven't announced a Bloodhunt yet.

Rule of thumb: Wikia/Fanon/etc. = fan-run =/= official
Agreed.

@TAG said:
I already know it's not official. I'll still use it.
That's nice. But plenty of people thought it was official because people who contributed to it posted on this forum saying so. I never said not to use it, either. I said take the info with a grain of salt as with any Wiki or nonofficial source.

next update. They dont really do patches outside of their normal schedule unless its a serious emergency situation.
That's not true. They generally do at least one patch a week or two after the release of a chapter. Sometimes they'll do two. There's not much in the way of content in these patches but it doesn't have to be for an emergency at all.

Oh, right. Even so I don’t think $11 is a lot for what they are giving you.
That's fine. To each their own. I play on PS4, $12 is too much IMO.

Its only going to be $11 on PC and around $12 on console. Don’t forget that this is also licensed content.
Previous licensed chapters have been the same price as originals.

@Hoodied said:
Well actually, you can still rely on it for perk info and shrine as those are usually true
The information on Wikipedia is usually true as well, but you're not allowed to use it as a source for a reason. And that wiki has often gotten DLC release and event information wrong.
-
This is a perfect example of why they should just give everything numerical values and not use vague words.

well I mean youre getting 9 perks, a killer and one extra reskin top for each survivor so if every dlc so far is 7/8 it makes sense for an extra 4 to add up or adleast 2
If regular chapters cost $7 then that's $3.50 per character. Technically the killer should cost more since its got a power. The "reskins" will be different colored shirts. That takes no effort so it shouldn't even factor into the price. This chapter should be no more than $10. The reason it will be more is because they know most ST fans that come are just going to play as ST characters, so they want to get as much money out of them as possible. It's also very popular with a younger crowd so they're just gonna ask their parents to pay so they don't care about price.
Considering the ST skins in the shop will likely be more expensive like Pig's AND there's a battle pass coming, I think $12-13 is a rip off. Bhvr is getting greedy.
-
$12? I'll be skipping this chapter.

Screw effort and detail. What matters is how cool something is.
What’s cooler, an inter-dimensional monster wrapped in chains or some spoiled teenager dressed in humiliating part time job attire?
This one knows what's up. That demogorgon skin is... OFF THE CHAIN.

I don’t feel entitled to be rescued, it’s just how the game is meant to be played.
I'm not sure why you think you can decide for the rest of us how to play the game even though the devs themselves have said you don't have to work as a team.

Yeah well 🤷♂️.
Imagine replying to someone using virgin as an insult
Good one.
-
The same price or a couple dollars more, I'd imagine. Anything more than that would be silly.
-
You're going to need to get over it. Stop taking things personally if you want to enjoy this game. Nobody owes you anything.
-
It's pretty lame that you don't even start with 4 survivors so each one in a team can be different. Why do you have to pay for Jake?
-
What do you expect them to do? Put him in a sun dress?
-
What's the problem? Don't like it? Don't buy it. I think it's cool.
-
They've made no indication that they are interested in an offline mode. Why would they suddenly make one?
-
I love when Billy players refuse to M1 you. Maybe they're going for a daily ritual, maybe they're stubborn, idk. But I've run them around for minutes because they simply would not use their basic attack even though they easily could have a bunch of times.
-
The devs are not tied to any particular day of the week. Just because they prefer Tuesdays doesn't mean they are married to them.
-

Well, knowing their track records.. It has been confirmed before that they've not given us the correct statistics.
You mean the mistake they corrected?
The devs will never be able to win because nothing they say will satisfy certain people. Any data they share will be written off as not having enough context or meaningless because it includes this or doesn't include this. So I understand why they so rarely release data because it really solves nothing at all.
-
Ok
-
A lot of people think if they're not good with a killer then that killer isn't good. It's difficult for them to step outside their own experiences.

"When do survivors start doing gens and stuff?"
Well, my little youngling, this screenshot was taken when I was rank 1.
https://i.imgur.com/W8BYSj6.png
This was my first hook.
Those two were still crouched like that by the time I took the screenshot (that's why I took it). I'm clearly in stage two.
The other person was being chased by the Killer.
I died on that hook.
Good luck.
At least you died looking fantastic
-
And as people said, Haddonfield definitely needs the most attention.
-
It could be made a little bit darker but I honestly like the map.
-
Thrill of the Hunt only notifies the killer when a Hex totem is being cleansed. Dull totems take longer but do not notify the killer. Dull totems never notify the killer. They can hear you cleansing them though, from around 8m away I'm guessing but idk for sure.

Yeah, most SWF groups are afraid of a challenge. They want to make sure they don't get matches with randoms who are bad, want to use voice comms for an advantage, and want to coordinate the best perks with instant heals, keys, and flashlight saves.
Playing with friends = total tryhards
All swf players are exactly the same!
-
You already can't tell. All survivors join at the same time now.
-
Hmm.. 🤔

I still dont understand why survivors are so stubborn in not doing totems.
Like, you get a whooping 1000 bloodpoints. Its more time efficient than doing gens, or being chased. Only unhooking or pallet stunning comes close to doing totems. It also brings you lightbringer emblem points. Again more time efficient than doing gens.
There is no logical reason to not do dull totems.
That change happened like 2 weeks ago, didn't it? And I'm not really sure what you're basing your opinion on. Plenty of survivors do do totems.. but that doesn't mean it's a guarantee you'll get all 5 before the 5th gen pops, especially as a solo player.
The games where I spent a lot of time totem hunting are typically the games where only 2-3 gens get done and maybe 1 person makes it out alive. As a solo I often cleanse 3-4 totems and have no idea if I'm wasting time searching for the last ones or if they're already done. I've had games where I personally cleansed 4 totems and scoured the map for that 5th one but couldn't find it.. so NOED triggered and as a result the killer got 1-3 more kills he likely wouldn't have otherwise.
This isn't as black and white as survivors not doing totems.

From my experience 80% of matchs those days are Swf (Ps4). Its not bullshit, its reality mate, when you play as a 4 man you want to do optimal things and escape or make fun of the killer #outplayHim, saying the opposite is pure hypocrisy. "Oh yeah lets try to go all urban evasion and light weight so he cant find us pfrt pfrt", no, it doesnt exist.
For the locker hide, I agree with you. But it doesnt change the potential of this combo :D
You can't just throw out random guesses and say "from my experience." I've been accused of being part of a SWF many times by angry killers because we did well. I haven't played SWF in probably a year and a half lol.

I don't use it, actually. Keep thinking you're better than people over a perk in DBD, though.

Just fyi: u can use addons for more heals. U can pick a medkit up again or jump into a locker to safe it. Spend more bloodpoints then. I never had no medkits anymore and u bring one every match.
None of that negates anything I said tho. 🤷
Self Care:
+ Infinite heals
+ No need for a teammate or item
+ Cannot be taken away from you
+ Costs ~16k BP maximum
- Slower healing
Medkits:
+ Faster healing
+ Saves you a perk slot
- Limited heals
- Can be taken away from you
- Lost upon death
- Item and add ons cost BP regularly
They both have their place in the game. Don't want to use Self Care? Don't. Get over it if others do.
-
I don't think it's unreasonable for a killer's stealth ability to trump those perks. They're still handy against most killers (like the strongest three) and stealth killers when they aren't currently in stealth mode.
-
Sometime in September. Probably 3 weeks away. You can just spend like 50k BP before each match you don't have to sit at a million or spend it all lol

Just fyi: medkits exists. Medkits can be used. Medkits are better.
Yeah, everybody is aware of that. Just FYI: medkits have limited charges, medkits can be dropped due to Franklin's, medkits aren't always available.
