  • I dont know like you said for me the 2018 event was the best and should be the standard. But i feel is they got used to the ######### event after that and stop trying to do great event even when they said they were going to stop doing the other event to focus on the halloween and anniversary event. It could be because people are buying their costume evem if the event is bad so in their head its a good event because of the money they made

How much speed do you gain if you kick a pumpkin? Do killers gain the same speed as survivors? It feels like you run at the same speed as sprintburst and how much are you hindered?

For survivor i dont know because i did not smash one yet. For killer its 5% so if you want to compare it to something its like getting a bloodlust.

  • Tbh i try the most of my ability to not grind during those event you waste so much bp on useless thing its kinda sad at least on the killer side of thing for survivor im all in on them most of the item are better for cheaper and you can still use them after the event.

  • That what happen when you do copy and paste on your ######### event

Someone reported me for speedhacking because of the Halloween serum...

Last time was when I recovered 5 times with Soul Guard.

    I love dbd.

What happened to you when someone reported you for hacking because of perks or addons ?

However good job devs, I think it is my favorite Halloween event :)

I think you are safe if hacker dont get ban and we can see them a couple of time a week i dont think you will get ban for that

A killer can pop NOED and turn a game around fast, hence why people aren't the biggest fan of it. However, if you were to make a perk like that, but for survivors, what would you make? How would survivors turn a game around in an instant?

Survivor already have the equivalent of that perk on multiple of perk.

    DS

    BT

    IW

    DH

    Adreanaline

    Unbreakable

I probably forgot a lot of other second chance perk but they already have it so saying killer is the only one with that kind of thing is kinda biase. Ofc everyone see those perk differently for me noed is a punish to the survivor who focus on gen only so its the best counter to toolbox.

  • Normally when i play survivor i watch netflix at the same time. For me its not like survivor require a lot of attention for me to play the role well.

  • Its not that i want to see a particular killer but i want a killer with a power like the one freddy used to have.

  • No the removal of quickscope kill the killer for me. Now he is a downgrade version of huntress abd probably worse then trickster

A visual indicator for DS would just mean that everyone that didn't run it would be tunnelled for free. That's kinda why there's now an obsession in each match - the ones without were tunnel fests

Or just a 1 minute timer for when a survivor get unhook like that you know when you can pick him up

  • @JohnWeak said:

Dear fellow friends, we all know that the game balance is terrible at the moment and that's impossible to win a trial properly without camping and tunneling at high MMR.

But i want to tell you that we are also responsible of this situation 😐️. Indeed, using cheap mechanics as camping and tunneling just to get our win (3k+) or to secure a draw (2k) is a terrible idea as statistics are artificially tweaked to 2k average doing so.

So here is what we HAVE TO do :

    • Start a trial keeping in mind that you cannot win against survivors at your real MMR level
    • Never camp and nor tunnel
    • Do not use NOED
    • Play fair no matter what and try to get as many hooks as possible
    • If you have the choice between a fresh survivor or a survivor that has already been hooked, go for the fresh one
    • Accept to loose 80%+ of your trials

This will result in terrible stats and show how unbalanced the game is. If the average kills is between 0,8 and 1,2, BHVR will see how terrible is the killer's experience and that they have to fix the balance.

ATM, we, the killer community, are comforting the devs in their idea that the game is pretty balanced as it is (50% kill rate).

If we continue to camp and tunnel to get our usual 2k+, we will have to stick with this garbage game design for years as the developers will never hear our voice.

If as a killer you want BETTER and FUNNIER trials, start to loose most of them and play as the game should be played : patrolling gens and chasing survivors.

DO NOT CAMP, DO NOT TUNNEL.

Im not playing a game i know i will lose from the start. That why i always close the app when a map offering is played

  • @Crowman said:

I personally wouldn't have a problem with boon totems if there was a more permanent solution to removing them. As it stands, there's no reason for a killer to seek a boon totem to snuff it out, because survivors can just bless the totem again.

And before someone says "but it means a survivor is wasting 16 seconds to bless a totem", the killer is losing more time snuffing it out. By going out to snuff out a totem you are as a killer not chasing a survivor or patrolling gens, meaning however long it takes you to find and snuff out a totem you gave the survivors that amount of time times the number of alive survivors. So if a single survivor blessing a totem takes 16 seconds, then as long as it takes more than 4 seconds for a killer to find the totem and snuff it out then it was beneficial for the survivors.

That kind of reasoning is rare and you explain why boon are so strong you should copy paste that answer and reply that on every tread that say boon perk are not good

  • Annoying flashlight, strong medkit, fun firecracker

  • CoH crash the game killer is to fat to crush certain boon in some map.

Im waiting for my op boon to be back so i can play survivor again

I was just playing on Ironworks Of Misery map, and there was a totem in the upstairs room, in the control room through the window. When I was running around downstairs Small Game was not firing, but when I climbed the outside stairway it fired when I was at the top.

On other maps SG seems to fire even when the totem is above or below you, but in this case it didn't seem to fire until i was on the same level as the totem.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

Maybe the cd was active and maybe when you pay attention you were rigjt under the totem and maybe its a bug

Disagree. Medkit is faster and available at any time and place.

Medkit only available for you need to always spend bp to make sure you have a medkit in inventory vs CoH unlimited amount of use everyone in the team can get acces to old self care if someone heal you its like getting heal by we'll make it can stack with a medkit so its easier to heal in a chase all that for an investment of 16 sec.

This is a matter of perspective i see CoH as a op perk because the emtire team can use it you see it as a downgrade because you play for yourself

Im seeing so many killer mains complaining about boons, "boons are too op", "what perks counter boons" , "boons should be nerfed more"....Like everytime survivor mains get perks that benefit us killers always complain? Yal have BBQ, Ruin, Corrupt Internvention ect...NOED....literally way better perks then us survivors. We should be able to escape as well....idc about the hatch/key nerf because i never bring keys anyways, but the amnt of complaints is crazy if you think boons are still too op maybe play something else?

In all the perk the game as too offer the top 5 perk are all on the survivor side. So saying killer perk are op is far fetch i think.

  • Why should killer play the game right now. The dev nerf bad killer because survivor dont like to go against them. After they introduce a new set of perk that can compete with the best survivor perk and deny the playstyle of many killer and counter many killer perk. I cant see any reason to play killer right exept making 5k bp more then survivor

  • @dednark said:

Ok? It was already dead if someone had a medkit. You have to commit to chase if you want to down them. Still COH is worse than medkits.

COH is better compare to medkit. Its 1 perk slot on 1 survivor for everyone to have a free medkit

Just had a miserable match trying out Michael's T2 wall hack addon and got creamed because the new boon totem blocks auras. I was completely thrown off by my gameplan not working and had no idea what to do.

What is the best way to go about the totems? Only look for them when you know for certain where they are, or dedicate some time to look for them?

Maybe I should play some more and adapt, but personally I think it's a bit much that ALL survivors benefit from one person blessing a totem. It means the time sacrificed is no where nearly as harsh since its still 3/4 survivors able to work on gens normally with the bonus of the Boon.

The best way i saw people countering the boon totem where playing 1 shot killer and not using any hex perk

  • @Dumpstick said:

Seems like killers want no part of Mikaela. Can't say I blame them, first survivor perk to actually be worth anything in a long time.

For a survivor perk to compete against the best of survivor perk its because they are op lol.

  • Have you try not using hex or just playing survivor

  • Its kinda funny when you think survivor perk are weak but in all the perk available for both side i would say survivor have the best perk and diversity for their build because they dont need slowdown perk.

  • I dont think its dying but people are starting to realise their opinion or feedback dont matter so some of them are slowly leaving.

I dont think its because of the toxicity or the swf balance or anything like that.

im really curious what those games are because every games that used EAC always end up with a massive surge of hackers after a while.

one game that released recently called "hood" had hackers in the beta

An example is apex legend they use the EAC and they ban a lot of people who cheat and while i was watching a streamer someone in the lobby got ban for hacking. The guy who got ban had 10 person looking at him and reporting him in the game so the dev ban him in game. For them its not normal having that many report and that many viewer on a player in game so they took action.

  • @Yatol said:

    thats EAC's job

Not really if you look at other that run EAC the do multiple ban. No anti cheat is perfect the closest i have seen to a perfect anti cheat is the anti cheat valorant use.

I have seen people getting ban in game cause they were cheating and those game use EAC so this is a compagnie issue not just an anti cheat issue.

  • Tomorow is the day a fully commit to the survivor main lifestyle. No more 50/50 between the role the dev clearly want survivor to be the one who dictate the balance. Im happy to embrace my new lifestyle.

    DEATH TO ALL KILLER

  • No because when you are carrying a survivor you cant do a lounge attack. So for that to happen they need to rework the perk entirely

  • Genrushing exist on its not just an excuse. Most killer use that term when survivor prioritise gen over evrything else and have toolbox. Ofc killer have counter to that its call noed because ruin will be worthless its not like the killer can be on 4 gen at the same time.

I could say the same survivor who blame camping, tunneling and slugging when they die are bad and cant escape the killer because they got caught.

The win condition on both side are different for killer its to kill no matter the amount of hook they get it does not matter.

For survivor its to escape no amount of rescue or chase mattet its only the escape that count. You only need to leave by the gate.

Not gonna lie, Self Care with Botany Knowledge and Desperate Measures is a pretty strong combo.

Pair that with a strong medkit using the new Built To Last coming out, and we've got ourselves a spicy a-meatball.

Im ditching self care for the boon totem when they are out i believe those perk are broken its self care for the entire team

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2567036#Comment_2567036

Because we are playing survivor. And, getting the guy off before second is the team play. Sure, if all you care about is getting yourself out, then pound gens.

But, unfortunately, I care about the enjoyment of my teammates and competition. So, once again, saving before second gives them a shot at hitting DS. If not, then same result, they go to second.

That the choice you make knowing its not the optimal play. So you are risking an easy win for enjoyement out of the match nothing wrong with that. Honestly a player should not complain about other choice of perk. Like you said maybe he was counting on the other guy having DS so he took a chance.

On a personal note most of the time i had more out of self care compare to all the other perk in the survivor arsenal only because after my gen i dont need to waste time looking for someone else i can just self care right there or go for an end game unhook when only 2 people are alive

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566570#Comment_2566570

Or, getting a save before they go to second against a camping killer in hope they get a shot at DS instead of hitting second stage.

If the killer is camping what are you doing going for the unhook instead of doing gen. Again this is a survivor issue not a perk issue or killer issue but mostly the inability to the survivor to do the correct play.

If it were that easy, don't you think every single game in existence would have a perfect anti-cheat? I'm not saying DbD's is perfect, but you have to know it's not as simple as "thing happens when it shouldn't".

The guy exagerate a bit but its true minecraft anti cheat is better. Not only that but you know when a ban hammer happen in other game in this game you have no idea if your report is look at. I saw a guy getting ban in the middle of a game in apex and both apex and dbd use EAC so at that point is the compagnie being lazy with report.

I know the mod have said they look into each report but honestly how can we believe it with the amount of cheater the game have and how complicated it is to make a report for a cheater. I think the compagnie forgot not everyone record their game

Honestly it would be fine if each totem can only be cleansed once. Once a killer snuffs out a totem it can't be relit at that position. This way if you are solo you have the chance to reuse it since at least boons are area restricted but it would make killers snuffing them out actually matter.

    That a nice idea too

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566815#Comment_2566815

Honestly. Generally I think stand still mind games are much weaker than M2 fakes considering there's actually a method to pretty much always tell if a Spirit is phasing or not, even disregarding the upcoming changes regarding her phasing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566819#Comment_2566819

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566833#Comment_2566833

The thing is though, survivors also lose distance as well or they put themselves at risk. You run in a (relatively) straight line? You're going to get hit with an M2 as they're carrying it. You zig zag trying to dodge a potential M2? You lose distance and you get M1'd.

Spirit's stand still mind games is actually generally less effective than M2 fakes considering what I said in this response as well as above to Mercês.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2566820#Comment_2566820

Personally I sometimes bait the Spirit to try and swing at me by walking somewhat close to her if I think she's faking it. Not close enough to get hit (and if there's a resource nearby to protect me). Normally most Spirits don't bother standing still twice in a row and they start phasing the next time they're still at a pallet or something

Lets take a couple killer m2 for example.

Ph loss distance for a fake m2 it take him 1,5 or 2 sec before he can use his power if he decide to fake it it take another 1,5 or 2 sec before he can M1 this work only if a window is close he cant do that if the survivir run in a straight line.

Deathslinger he lose distance if he decide to fake its better for him to quicksope that why they nerf him in the next patch. Plus you dont outplay a deathslinger he miss.

The last example i will say its demo faking his power work specially if the survivor run in a straight line and at a pallet he dont lose distance but he wont gain any distance either.

I use those example because those are the killer that gain the more with a fake exept deathslinger all the other killer are not worth a fake m2 because they lose to much. The survivor dont need to zig zag that much just losing the LoS should be enough to beat any fake

  • @kyogul said:

I never really understood the lack of ire for stand still mind games with Spirit when it's basically tantamount to M2 fakes with other killers (Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, etc.) in terms of "outplaying" based on no skill.

Personally I play Spirit and while I'm not a comp player or anything who can always tell based on animation if she's actually phasing or not, common sense normally makes it obvious when she is and isn't phasing and I don't mind it nearly as much as M2 fakes.

M2 fakes on the other hand are basically free zoning for no effort, especially with a killer like Deathslinger where there is no realistic reaction time to ADS and then being shot.

All those fake m2 have a cost most of those cost is distance. The spirit stand still mind game most of the time is the survivor not knowing ehat to do because they dont know her cd or cant do a read to save their life

Those totems are too easy to find. Killer can hear a directional sound as soon as he enters boon area.

They would be useless if they had limited uses.

If the killer go out of his way to destroy a boon that free time survivor have for gen. If a survivor brimg the killer in that area its mostly because he have shadow step so whatever happen the survivor should be able to end the chase right there and waste the killer time by having him to look for someone else. Imagine that until the game is over im sorry but this is too powerfull for all the benefit you have. Dont forget this work on the entire team not just you that make those perk op in my opinion because as a survivor you have the potentiel to have 6 perk available to you if one of your teamate place a boon

  • The biggest mistake is giving the survivor an infinite amount of time they can bless a totem it should be one time and when the perk is snuffed out the perk is destroy just like hex

Thats what I call a sweaty swf team. They even used a cake + my party streamer and they still rushed the gens and tried to escape as fast as possible, ofc with classic teabags, flash light clicks only at the exit gate. I couldve try to go for kills by camping and tunneling but as I saw the cake so I wanted to go just for points and try to hook everyone for my bbq stacks. Ofc they took advantage of that and played the most efficiant way as possible by pushing the gens and finished the game therefore in 6min.

I am not saying survivors are not allowed to play sweaty or should try to win. What I am saying is if there are 2 BPS boosters in the game and the killer is clearly not going for tryhard and is even not playing a meta killer and you still try to genrush with the best set up of items in your entire team stacked and still teabagg at the gate and then insult the killer in the endgame chat (I took the screenshot without the insults cuz I dont want to make these ppl look too bad in the forums) that I am bad and should uninstall the game then this is very sad imo.

Tbf this is nothing really new, we know that sweaty swf squads exist. My point of this threat is why ppl play like that? How can ppl feel "superior" by absolutely rushing the game even though you used a BP offering against a mid tier killer. Also I am suprised that grps like that even play against these kind of Killers, I know that I have max MMR with Nemesis but idk how BHVR thinks that this is "fair" in any way.

Like seriously, we had 2 chases and the game was done xD

I dont see the issue all of the player used good perk and good addon. What happen is you saw the limitation of a M1 killer with no mobility against a good swf that suck but its how the game is. The only way for you to win that kind of match is nurse with her best addon all the other option are awful.

  • My question what kind of stupid survivor unhook in front of the killer with no BT. This is not a self care issue but mostly a survivor who believe in the survivor rule book

if your boon is miles away from the generators the Killer wants to protect. you’re wasting an awful lot of time to walk to it every time to heal

Yes and no that mean you dont need to look for a teamate to heal you and you can go to pressuring gen faster. That mean you can bring a flashlight to deny the killer some hook or toolbox with bnp and still be able to heal yourself any number of time you want with close to no downside

I think I prefer LB over shadow step but maybe that’ll change once I try it out.

Shadow step work on the entire team in a area effect lucky break work only foe the user for a limited amount of time.

Shadow step is by far the better perk in my opinion and it give distortion in that area too.

I think its a matter of preference at that point. Its are you more of a team player or a me and myself only type of player

  • Tbh when boon are out i cant see any reason for the killer to bring hex perk so why would you cleanse totem

  • Honetsly its really simple you cant counter bnp you take the gen lost and play for a 3 gen and hope you can defend it

  • Because every survivor have the tool to 1v1 a killer in a 1v4 game. You play myers too that does not help your case like other people say he is one of the worst killer

  • @feffrey said:

A killer faces survivors in a one on one situation mainly and you shouldn't automatically win a 1v1 because you're playing killer

The killer should be highly favor in a 1v1 situation because he need to repeat that process at least 12 times vs survivor need to repeat it 3 times only

  • No because a B tier killer get nerf. So in theory a B tier killer is too strong for the baby survivor

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 12
