What you say is true but the nerf is because survivor dont like playing against him.
Never forget that its the survivor who dictate who get buff and nerf and you should be fine for the next killer you buy

It's not just thag match though is it. Killers struggle in most matches against survivors cos they have nothing to help them. Survivors have everything to their advantage and are occasionally unlucky and the killer may get a kill or so. The devs need to see this from the killer point of view.
The game is well balence close to 80% of the player like the balance so its a good thing in their eyes.

Yes but the thing is, the devs havent really said what a "win" or a "loss" is and have further went to hide mmr so we cant see if we actually win or lose and what our mmr does accordingly, also sbmm tracks a match a 4 different 1v1's between killer and survivor based on the same amount of objectives which isnt ideal since your team can do objectives while you chase or do nothing and the game counts it as a win for you vs the killer 1v1
The dev have said what is a win in the last Q&A.
For survivor its escaping if you leave by the hatch its a draw.
For killer its killing the survivor and for killer you can win and lose in the same match.
-
Sadly no if they did surge would be too good for the survivor
-
Yeah shes worth boon perk are really really strong. Only one person need to equip them to had 2 perk to all the other survivor this is insane value when you think about it.
-
The guy who do the voice did an amazing job.
They said 1 big lie in all of that and its 1 killer for 4 prey when in reality its 4 survivor for 1 prey
-
Nurse, Blight the other 3 are killer player dont like

Second Objectives will be put into the game on Oct 19th with Boon totems.
Exept those are for killer but you are right

Doesnt MMR mean that most games should result in a 2k 2esc average?
Yes and no
If you have an average of 2k 2 esc every match with your main killer with the best perk and addon and you need to play hard every match for that mean that the second you dont have those addon or change your perk for something else you are going to get destroy.

Yeah, I don't have that much sympathy there. I do sympathise with something you enjoyed being taken from the game, but I'm sure anyone who used something obnoxious for the other side would find that fun- I imagine old Object of Obsession and Decisive Strike were pretty fun for the survivor side, but they still needed to be changed.
Deathslinger was given buffs to compensate for the annoying thing being taken away, so that's totally fine. Nothing to be mad at here, just momentarily bummed if you enjoyed quickscoping.
For me that change ruin the killer and i regret every BP i invest in him now. That more or less 10 million bp wasted that i could put on another killer or better on the new survivor that coming out
-

No reason to be mad about those either. The removal of quickscope may be unfortunate for people who enjoyed using it, but it was incredibly unfun and obnoxious to go against, so it only makes sense they'd shift him to require a little more commitment before landing a hit. He got buffs to compensate, so he's going to be just as fine as he was before.
Granted, the TR increase is a little questionable, that might end up hurting him unnecessarily. Wait and see on that one, I suppose- or grind for Monitor and Abuse on him, maybe?
For me quickscoping was the only thing deathslinger had for himself compare to huntress specially because i could use my skill from the shooter game i play in the game but now all of that is worthless.
I know for the player who use deathslinger because he could quickscope they would probably stop playing him because its too slow compare to before.
You talk how unfun quickscoping is for the survivor but that what make deathslinger fun in my opinion.
If they want to remove the unfun thing they should do something about the hold w meta too but that another conversation and irelevant to the post

First of all, they said they're keeping an eye on her to see if the dust kicking nerf is necessary. Maybe they'll do it, maybe they won't, but right now we'll be talking about Spirit as she was in the PTB, not with hypothetical changes added on top.
Her addons look pretty fine. Slightly gimmicky for some of them, but the better killer instinct one and the instant power recharge ones look very solid, so she's not been screwed on her addons. As for her basekit, she still retains all of her actual strengths and she's still substantially faster than survivors-- literally the only thing that's changed is that you can't stand still to mindgame, and very good survivors might not go down immediately if they make a good move. She's going to be fine, calm down.
I dont really play her because i suck with her so her nerf wont touch me when i play her but i know my game against her will be easier by a lot. And i wont need to do any read against her the game will tell me the direction she phase.
Spirit real power was to make my teamate kill themself or DC lmao.
What im mad about in that patch are the deathslinger nerf the removal of quickscope is dumb and i see no reason not to learn huntress huntress over dearhslinger

"What they did" being... making it so survivors have the tiniest sliver of information and thus the ability to mindgame instead of making a guess based on nothing?
She's going to be fine. More than that, she's still going to be a top tier pick.
Spirit wont be a top tier pick after those nerf. Maybe for the console player with crossplay off shes still going to be top tier but not for pc.
The thing is all are green addon and up are kinda bad now or they are fun addon but fun addon are not strong.
The worst thing is the dev are not finish with the spirit nerf. They did not have the time to add the dust kicking animation so just remember that nerf is coming to her kit soon enough unless the dev change their mind.

That is honestly a wild take. As for the subject of your topic, the developers care about both sides and have shown this time and time again. Keys are getting nerfed indirectly with the hatch not spawning until there's only one survivor left, and now no longer insta-open the hatch.
Boon Perks seem strong but honestly I don't see them shaking up the meta. Spirit and Deathslinger may be getting nerfed, but they're not being gutted. Not to mention other killers are getting add-on passes to make them better.
The changes for Spirit are going to make her a lot more fun to play against, and if you find yourself losing then maybe consider that you might not be as good as you thought you were. It's going to take out the guesswork for survivors, and challenge Spirit players to think outside the box.
The changes for Deathslinger aren't very significant, but ultimately necessary. M&A Deathslinger has a tiny terror radius, and quickscoping created a lose-lose scenario for survivors. When Pyramid Head was creating a lose-lose scenario for survivors, they nerfed him to rectify that problem. This is just them doing the same with Deathslinger.
While it may mean very little, I am a killer main but I also like to play survivor with my friends for fun. I see the upcoming mid-chapter update as nothing but a net positive across the board for both sides.
Spirit nerf right now is fine giving the survivor a cue when she use her power is a good thing. The issue rise late when they implement the dust kicking nerf.
Deathslinger removing the quickscope is the worst thing they could do to him because that the only thing he had over huntress. Now its just better to play huntress you have better addon and a better power.
Boon perk are really scary you can use them an infinite amount of time that can make them op. Ofc if the other survivor never use them you are better off running perk that work only for you.

Killers only use BBQ for blood-points anyway, at least that's what all the Killers say when someone suggests nerfing it.
People do use it for BP help but the aura reading is huge on the perk. If player would not need that much BP we would see thrilling tremors a lot more.
I think it was last year or 2 years ago they decide to change the aura and during that time you could barely see the bbq aura so a lot of killer stop using the perk
-

Why hide the MMR? Now there's no excuse that people would abuse it to manipulate it that we already know how MMR works (kills and escapes). Why don't just make a public leaderboard and show mmr numbers after matches?
Because they are scare people will start to say i have a higher mmr then you so your opinion is invalide.
Anyway that what they said during the Q&A

The game barely runs on Consoles as it is.
The game barely run on console but you can play a game like dragon dogma with better graphic and better fps and that game is older so i think the issue at that point is not the console but the dev
-
@jesterkind said:
I mean, sure, this looks nice, but is the way DBD looks really a problem? Outside of a few face rigs messing up (Jonathan and Jill especially), the game looks fine. I've never understood the idea that it's somehow a flaw with the game or a mark of shame for the devs that it doesn't look top of the range.
Its mostly because the game look like s*** compare to other game specially when you take into account the game dont have much in a match.
The game look like a ps3 game at best and even then some ps3 game look way much better compare to dbd.

If you want to know when are the next survivor nerf just check how long it took bhvr to realise DS was beyond broken it should take the same time i estimate

So what do you think? Do they need to be nerfed?
I believe healing need to be nerf. It could be with a nerf to medkit or a nerf to a survivor healing someone else but something need to be done because chasing a survivor with a medkit is worthless unless you commit to the chase whatever the consequance.
-
@Exult said:
There's this rising sentiment that somehow medkits are too strong. Since when have they been too strong, and in tandem since when did they need to be nerfed? I don't think they do at all. They can be the strongest item if you feel that way, but that doesn't mean they need to be changed. Healing has been this way for a while and it's never been complained about until now.
Maybe this is just because I've seen Scott and Otz talk about it. Normally I agree with them but this time I'm not so sure. I think they're trying too hard to make a bad argument that medkits are too powerful.
Medkit became the strongest item after key when they change the toolbox.

I'm on Series X. I do have the same FPS and turning isn't an issue unless you purposely play on low sensitivity.
Turning with a joystick is less precise meaning after a blink if the survivor is beind you you may not have the time to turn around and hit him before you get exaust
-
I believe when spirit get nerf the best console killer will be pyramif head.
Unless with the spirit nerf survivor stop running IW but i doubt it that perk is so good against all the killer.
-
@Yamaoka said:
Nurse is still the strongest by far.
She's just harder to play on console than PC but definitely playable and power wise quite simply a league of her own.
Nurse is playable on console but shes not strong. You dont have the fps for that and turning with an analog vs a mouse is night and day.

What about real counters? You can not call perks and certain killers counters to an item. How should you play to counter medkits?
Let's say you're wraith or twins and you rely much on splitting the damage and you don't have certain perks against 4man squad with medkits. Your actions?
I hate medkit too because of my plsystyle. Honestly you just need to commit to the chase if survivor have a medkit that all
-
@Angelicus23 said:
Because a perk is very good against 1/25 killers or by the sole reason that they are getting a fair counterplay you dont need to nerf it.
should we then also nerf the perk calm spirit for clown, doctor and the cenobite?
IW is good against all killer i think he said spirit as an example because shes the only one who needed to run stridor because of IW

Got the idea from another topic where I'm seeing people say it's hard/impossible to win loops/lose killers.
I'd honestly say I'm winning 15-20% of my chases as survivor.
My main chase related perk is Lithe.
My fun build uses Head-On/Quick and Quiet.
I mostly play killer and i will drop a chase when the survivor go to a god loop or a zone of the map where no gen are

Then how is slugging unfun for the killer. You just said why it is for survivor but not for killer

Pinhead isn't going to get changed regarding Hoarder/Franklin's due to its strength. It's going to get changed (hopefully) because it's the most insanely unfun thing in the game.
Hoarder and franklin are going to get change because survivor will complain about the synergie the perk provide to the killer. They will say the killer should not have acces to chain hunt because of a perk combo or something like that

This is where I disagree. Faking a power is not skillful in the slightest. And that’s what he’s doing all the time.
If he fake, that mean you can take the window and he cant do anything about that ofc you need to look beind you.
I saw in your original post you said you could just run in a straight line and he will catch you in a way you are right but he will never get you with his power because its only 8 meter and it take him 1,5 sec or 2 sec before he can shoot plus the travel time you can dodge this easy.
I really think you struggle against PH because he is not play very much. So you dont have enough practice against him. He is the kind of killer were almost every match the survivor will have because because he is fair and survivor have a lot of counterplay against him.
-
I dont think the game is dying for the only reason they always release new character and this by itself bring back old player or bring new player in the game.
I believe right now this game is in a dark path. With the recent Q&A i was having hope we could have great update like the incoming one but they said it should not happen again so my hope for good patch are down again.
The recent rumors about the nft and everything look fishy but they did not deny it yet normally a compagnie would deny it if those were rumors specially if its not well receive. I saw other compagnie deny rumors about them that why i say that.
Personnaly im only active on the forum. Right now i played a bit in the ptb during my new world queue time but that all. I feel like the game lost me as a customer for now with the recent descision they took. This will probably change all that depend how can new world keep my attention away from this game but for me dbd is not good enough compare to other game

I don't understand the "stack". What does it mean? The effect of the Boon only affects the one who blessed the totem?
In some map the radius of the boon too could pass through one another so in those perk if you were lucky in the totem place you could have 200% healing speed or more
-
Its simple survivor waste more money in the game so they have better condition

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/286231/i-cant-see-why-people-say-boon-are-bad-now
they were bad before the nerf, now they are terrible. It wastes the one resource that is critical for survivors, time. Time not spent advancing the objective of gen repair increases the chance of loosing the match. The fast healing boon might have some value but if it saves 8 seconds on a heal but takes 16 seconds to bless....thats a net loss on time.
If you get only heal from a boon that mean 2 thing one your boon is missplace the second your teamate are blind and they never saw where it was. Boon are a team perk not a egoist perk like the one survivor use in their meta
-

I still don't seen them beating, or coming close, to the current meta and strong med kits... Would love if they did but still can't see it happening...
Medkit are for yourself only boon are for the entire team that a huge difference. Ofc if you only care about yourself you have no reason to bring those but if you care about the team and winning as a team those perk are really good. Because survivor can see the aura they dont need their teamate to communicate were the totem are so even solo player can use those perk. If you only care about yourself those perk are worse thing you could have
-
@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2551919#Comment_2551919
even based on how they were before I wouldn't have run them on survivor without specific map offerings. Having to run to a certain corner of the map to heal, etc seems like a huge waste of time to me
That the thing its not just you who can do that but your entire team and that what make boon perk really strong. The example you said that mean only one player need to go there if he want to reset and its safe because if you do that you know the killer wont pass there. Boon are going to be good in every map the one were the perk will be less effective are the map the killer already steuggle to keep up with the game like red forest.
Like i said in my post i think survivor forget those perk affect the entire team and not just themself
-
@SleepyWillo said:
The stacking had to go.
But 24secs to boon a hex which can be snuffed out in 1 sec? Just do gens.
But that understandable you have a hex and 14 sec later that hex is replace by a boon there no reason of cleasing that totem. At least now the survivor have a choice do they cleanse that hex for 14 sec or they take 10 more sec to blessed it at the risk of the killer stoping them if they have thrill of the hunt

oh. I'm still trying to figure out 100% how these boon perks work.
You probably saw the video but with some good stacking you could heal a survivor before the killer had the time to finish the wipe animation after a hit
-
@Nathan13 said:
the boon totems won't stack with other survivors. So they can't heal unless they're running their own perk.
I think what they mean by that is when the radius of totem A was passing through the radius of totem B so you could have 200% healing speed.
Anyway that what i understood.

I was wondering what builds I should look to be running on him? I don't care to be super sweaty, I just like to have fun as killer most of the time. Also what addons should I use and which should I steer clear of?
I understand if you do not like The Nightmare! But please don't yell at me for wanting to try him.
TLDR;
What addons should I use/not use?
What builds should I go for on him?
Meme builds? Fun builds? Sweat builds? (I don't care too much for the sweat, but will take them anyway.)
It's much appreciated!
Freddy addon are not good the only noticable addon are the one that can reduce the time it take for you to tp.
You will rely on your perk a lot so its better to have perk that are consistant over risky perk.
I think one of the best build you can use is pgtw, corrupt intervention, thrilling tremors and eruption. You can replace thrilling tremors with bbq it wont change much exept the bp gain but with freddy you dont need it so much. I use eruption because i prefer that perk over the other perk and with thrilling tremors its a nice little combo but if you dont like it i used run surge or brutal strengh that last perk slot is a flexible perk run what you like.
The hardest thing with freddy is knowing to know when to snare you slow yourself when you use that power so make sure the survivor is staying in the loop and he is asleep before using your snare. The rest is practice and dont forget you will mostly rely on survivor mistake for your hit

They’re not, they’re absolute garbage. I’d rather just use medkit + we’ll make it or lucky break. They should’ve removed the stacking and tested it from there, not make multiple nerfs without even seeing the impact of one.
The difference is boon perk work for your entire team not just for yourself. The only time blessing a totem will take 24 sec is when its a hex perk on a dull totem its still the same time. If you still believe the boon perk are bad no one will be able to change your mind but for a player like me who only use DH in all my build those perk will be op if my teamate can use them.

Some i've decided, but have not yet found in the bloodweb, but some killers i've drawn a blank with.
I'm wondering if you guys can help me. We can make it into a game. I'll tell you the perks i'm using, but you guys tell me the last one and why you chose that one.

- Pig: Nurse, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Clown: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Demo: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Oni: Sloppy, Ruin, BBQ, ....
- Blight: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Nemesis: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
- Twins: Nurses, Ruin, BBQ, ....
- Pinhead: Bamboozle, Ruin, BBQ, .....
Remember, fill in the blanks with a new perk perfect for that killer and explain your choice.
Yeah, i know, i use the same perks alot, But i find them very useful and i don't plan on swapping the mentioned perks out soon, unless i get a better build idea.
