  • Its fine the thing survivor say they love the most is to be chase so killer spawning on you is good.

Actually have been playing nothing but spirit after giving up on nurse (console) all weekend. Haven’t lost a game unless you count hatch escapes/door patrolling. Spirit still plays the same to me. Just because players might know if she’s phasing or whatever doesn’t mean they can do a lot with that information especially if you only phase in short bursts they still don’t have time to react.

Yeah on console spirit is the best killer in the entire game. The fact that survivor know when she phase mean they know if its safe to drop the pallet or go to the window. Honestly if survivor could learn to play against her she would drop in the ladder but for now they cant so be happy

  • Spirit got nerf good survivor will be able to beat a good spirit specially if its a swf. The only killer who can compete at the top are nurse and blight.

I think the dev dont play there game because they suck at it i saw some of them play and they mostly play survivor in a group and they get destroy a lot of the time.

  • @coolmacc said:

Just like how survivors have to to bones for noed killers have to do bones for boons.

And dont comment killers have to worry about patrolling, loops, kicking gens, keeping pressure, hooking etc etc we don’t have time to do bones.

Cause I’ll comment survivors don’t have time to worry about 5 totems getting done we have to loop, do gens, unhook, heal, open gates etc etc

So if i kick 5 boon survivor wont be able to use the perk again

  • The perk need a buff but i dont think that kind of buff that will help the game.

I know most killer run corrupt deadlock for the slowdown. Remove that and killer are stuck with some really sad option. Ruin/undying is not reliable and because of the intro to boon survivor look for totem more often. Same for pop the perk remove 25% of a gen that huge and nice but a lot of survivor commit to gen and finish them in your face if you dont have the mobility to get there fast enough.

If the dev can fix the time it get for survivor to finish all 5 gen your idea is great but for now wr cant have that in the game this will hurt killer too hard.

  • @Sluzzy said:

Why should a survivor action disable their own perk?

Killer actions do not disable their perks.

Instead survivor can deactive the killer perk its better amd more balence

  • @nikodemo said:

Buffs are so much more interesting and fun. Let options be impactful! It's ok!

Nerfs move the game to a bland mush.

Buff are more interesting but making thing too strong give the meta we are currently in.

For survivor its 1 booner and the other 3 use their second chance perk like they used too.

For killer its camp and tunnel and use noed because you know unless the survivor are bad all gen get done

  • @GannTM said:

Killers say DS deserves another nerf and survivors say Spirit deserves another nerf. You can never please some people.

I think the nerf killer talk about DS is because of boons. You can bless a totem and still have DS after. Other then that i can see any reason to nerf DS

  • @ukenicky said:

Something that bothers me is they've said that Hatch escapes are neutral / give no MMR but do moris still give a killer MMR gain from killing the survivors by their hand? I've yet to get an answer on this

It would be logic for mori to give mmr and hatch to be neutral.

Mori survivor need to be on death hook before you can use the offering so all the work you did for youre down are still relevant.

Hatch escape you could just hide in a locker and wait for your team to die so you can escape with the hatch so you dont need to contribute to the match for an escape.

That probably why hatch dont give mmr.

  • Its less frustrating to sit in a lobby for 15 minute then play killer.

When the artist get release survivor queue should improve for a weak

And this is why I put in the work to master nurse.

Nurse says ######### you to dead hard, can easily (once mastered) chain/follow up with hits and maps (outside those with two floors) don't tend to mess with her.

Nurse say nothing to dead hard or if she say something its sorry master XD

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I'd say yes once they fix facing spirit without IW, which is still egregious imho. She's powerless against the perk and incredibly oppressive when they don't have it- fix the inequality and then you can nerf it to the ground for all I care

Not anymore the fact that survivor know when she phase they can play against spirit more efficiently. Iron will just beat every single killer in the game its not like the killer have an amazing FoV

  • Yes he need a nerf only because the survivor did not like facing him that the only reason the dev need for a nerf

  • I dont think its a good idea. I always check the survivor i play with to see if they are hacking or not most of the time a steam account lvl 0 is a good clue. When i check some profile are not private and i see the comment player leave on there profile and those comment are so toxic its kinda funny in a way this game make people like that

You're comparing an indie dev team with a triple A team. I do wish they would make a DBD 2 with brand new code and carry everything over and allow cross-progression but I doubt that will happen for a long time, if ever. Wishful thinking, Man.

Exept when riot redo the code they were not a triple A compagnie yet. Now they are im not denying it but what push them to be better i believe is the competition with dota 2 and the competitve scene 2 thing dbd dont have so they have nothing to push them to do better.

Ps. What was the point of the whole argument again. I forgot in my rant XD

Anything can break something else. When you have so many things reliant on others', one change can make something else go nuts. It's not super easy going through 5 years worth of code to fix one bug and not even sure if any of what they are doing is actually the initial cause then that fix could break other things.

They need to do the same thing riot did with league of legend. You recode the entire game while working on your product. Riot did that after season 3 or during season 3 i dont remember the exact time but that approach work for the best for the compagnie. They just need to put the rescource in their game and stop lazing around.

  • Power play a massive role in BP gain that why some of the best farmer are doctor and legion.

Before we had BP event and during those period survivor could face only doctor during those week end and this was old doctor so he was a nightmare to play not because he was bad but because he had 2 stance he was really a hard killer to use.

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2646491#Comment_2646491

Definitely will. They just have to find a way to do it without screwing it up. They can't just activate the scream at the end of the hit for DH because it would make it sound weird with normal hits sounding delayed for the server to catch up but its very possible. Just might take a little bit.

Exept the dev never completly fix the sound bug you can still have them from time to time. Its happening less often but its still happening. So i dont think DH validation will get fix

  • I use to think killer were strong.

And this is not a noob mistake but when they say they were reworking freddy i was sure they would never change freddy core gameplay i was never so wrong in my entire life. I still miss my favorite killer and the reason i bought the game

  • @Zachcjjj said:

i feel like 99% of the people who claim to have high mmr just hit red rank like 3 times and all of a sudden think they have max mmr and are versing death squads every game when its really just not true. its pretty funny that people will be on this forum talking about how they are high mmr and then say something stupid like flashlights are op

Because its really hard for killer to lose mmr that the only reason

  • @BadLooperQ said:

I'm the unlucky type of guy that whenever I decide to pick DS, killers tend to not tunnel anyone. But as soon as I'm taking that perk out, every single killer seems to tunnel everyone.

That probably because you dont get unhook in front of the killer

  • @selflessnea said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2645486#Comment_2645486

The mmr works based off of a 2k baseline. I think it was mentioned that the most change you will see is ±20 points per match. Therefore a 1k will drop you 10 points. A 3k will boost you 10 points. Now there might be some minor adjustments to that value that has yet to be data mined. And until we are able to have a program that can tell us our mmr or the lobby mmr ( I think I saw a video where a cheat program was able to tell the lobbies average mmr) we can't know for sure how exactly getting kills or not changes our own mmr.

The dev said in the Q&A how the mmr work its base on kill and escape and the first kill give more mmr because its harder to get the first kill and each survivor have their own mmr so if in the lobby you kill the survivor with the highest mmr the chance you gain mmr are high.

    Example with number

    Survivor A 1400 mmr

    Survivor B 1400 mmr

    Survivor C 1550 mmr

    Survivor D 1800 mmr

    Killer 1550 mmr

If the killer kill only survivor D the killer mmr will go up a drastically because he kill the survivor with the highest mmr in the match.

Survivor A and B will get a lot of mmr in that match because they escape a killer better then them.

Survivor C will get a normal rise in is mmr because the killer was the same skill level then him.

Survivor D will get an insane drop in is mmr because the killer had a bad mmr compare to is mmr.

After the match the system will do all the calcul and give the appropriate number to each player and its possible for the killer to gain mmr in that scenario. Ofc that only an example and with the matchmaking we have its possible this happen more often then a lobby with all player around the same mmr.

Anyway that how they explain the system during the Q&A

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2645642#Comment_2645642

Yes, head on is the same that make the killer know 24 secs before a gen is done and give him undetectable status

Im not saying its the same in the effect aspect im only saying you should expect tinkerer in every killer build and play around the perk just like killer do with certain perk.

Its not like as a survivor you need to remember a lot of info and you can know more or less what the build the killer use in the first 5 second of a match.

  • @Zachcjjj said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2645617#Comment_2645617

yeah thats sweet and all but thats beside the point i dont care about getting injured because of tink i think its just weird that it activates infinitely when perks like ruin exist and you can just indefinitely regress the gen

Ruin is all about luck for killer are you lucky enough for the survivor not to spawn on ruin or just having ruin far from the gen. Tinkerer at least is not about luck and you are sure it will always stay active.

I think the best counter is to always expect tinkerer just like killer always expect power struggle and head on

  • @Zachcjjj said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2645583#Comment_2645583

i dont entirely disagree dont get me wrong but ruin undying even with boons is still op especially if you have a drop chase playstyle to defend every tinkerer

If the killer drop the chase you reset in 16 sec because of boon so he lost all is pressure so its good for you

  • @selflessnea said:

If you just got a 1k then it went down. If you get a 3k it goes up. The range that you get matched with barely changes tho. And there are sweaty teams at almost all levels of mmr. You could have an all meta swf at 1200 or 1900. It's just less likely at the lower ranges

1k dont drop the mmr or if it drop the mmr its minimal. That because its harder for the killer to get the first kill so they give more mmr for that if the survivor was higher then you you get more mmr. So its possible to gain mmr with only 1 kill even if you got destroy and only catch the guy at the end.

  • Im the same lately i dont play killer and when i open the game i go and play survivor. All that because of boon my last killer game was on the ptb. I hope the can do something about boon and the hold w meta but the way the dev see it i think they believe the meta is fine

  • Nope only because of rng imagine your 4 hook are in each corner of the map and you down most of the survivor in the middle just like that you have a dead perk

  • Hit validation favor survivor because they are beind by 1 sec compare to the killer that why you see you hit the survivor but for the survivor he use dead hard before he could receive the hit so they have the priority

  • @Sluzzy said:

It is simply a symptom that killer is much easier than survivor. With so many anti-loop powers, it is never safe to loop, and with killers that throw projectiles you can't loop.

True i forgot billy trow some chainsaw at the survivor he need another nerf asap

Actually a while ago Not_Queen commented on a stream that they do consider stretched res to be cheating. Similarly Dowsy has commented that Behavior told him and other Fog Whisperers that they consider stretched res to be cheating and the Whisperers could get in trouble in the program if they did it.

My guess is that the devs either ran into difficulty figuring out a way to force DbD to lock into certain specific aspect ratios to prevent it, and/or figure it's not as high priority a target for an exploit fix as other things. Regardless, though, they don't actually approve of the practice.

I did not know they said stretch res are cheating. I dont watch the dev stream because i find them to be really bad at the game.

    Thanks for the info

  • Stretched res is not a cheat and this feature is mostly use by the survivor, killer dont have that much of an advantage with that.

For subtle cheat nothing the dev can do not many people can see those cheat and report them. Even if a player could see them the responsable staff may not see it as a cheat and think its a lag.

Personally i dont believe the report founction because i use it a couple years ago and i never had any news about that i know some streamer say it work but it may be because they are streamer so they have a special treatment

  • @FlameGNG said:

ok so as usual havent really thought about it since i never do it but i played against a bubba hook camped 1 teammate so we did gens 1 gen left other teammate disconnects. so i was like aight i go and die you use unbreakable and you can find hatch... well i got hooked took me 5 missed skillchecks to die? i mean sure i guess its kinda good you cant give hatch or insta suicide but like CMON takes 20 sec to kill myself on hook what a joke...

hatch doesnt spawn until IM DEAD let us suicide it doesn't favour anyone in any way since both can start searching for hatch at the same time...

last thing yes its good that teammates cant insta suicide but it doesnt help since they are gonna afk on the hook if they want to die anyways... and im fine with the new struggle system but alteast make it so it doesnt take 5 missed skillchecks to die

Dont touch anything if you want to suicide this is the fastest way to die.

Honestly you dont want old struggle the number of time survivor got kill on hook because the game lag for a sec and some player broke controller or keybord with that smashing. Its far better the way it is now.

  • @LittleSagey said:

killers who slug all 4 survivors at 5 gens, even 4 or 3. why? just curious....even if the opportunity presents itself, is that even fun?

Why not if survivor can bodyblock and flashlight save when 2 or 3 gen are done and the killer have no hook i cant see why the killer should not slug or camp at 5 gen.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Killer mains dont generally complain even when we clearly see that this game is significantly in the survivors favor (maps, boons etc) but survivor mains will complain about NOED which i always found funny.

I don't know what forum you're on but people complain about maps and boons all the time around here, and I'm one of those people.

I think he mean killer rarely complain during the chat.

  • @StarLost said:

If I recall, these were the two least played killers by a fair margin, and from what I've seen over the past while, people still aren't playing them much.

Hag...I somewhat understand, as CoH booners give her a rough time and her tactical style certainly isn't for everyone, but Plague?

Plague is a monster now. Great addons that actually give her entirely new playstyles, very smooth gameplay, incredibly adaptable powerset. Massive snowball/comeback potential. She even works well against CoH teams.

The only thing I don't enjoy on her is the SFX which can make me a bit queasy.

So...I'm quite curious. What is it that puts people off these two killers in particular?

For hag you said it CoH hurt her hard

For plague its because of the fountain sometime you get a good one but moat of the time the fountain is always on the other side of the map and you lose a huge amount of time before you can use it if you go out of your way. Having the survivor conteol how many time you can use your power is kinda a downer too

  • @Anara said:

Maps offering are fine. There are perks you want to use on some maps.

You don't want to open the breakable walls in the main building though it opens up the infinite lmao.

That only in bandham in haddonfield you have no breakable wall

  • Its call the house of pain nothing you can do about that unless you play nurse. If a survivor go near there leave the chase immediatly because if the survivor is decent you will lose the match

Maybe you should increase your volume or clean your ears. They are pretty easy to hear.

Ok if i boon a totem on one side of the map and you are on the other side are you going to know exactly were the boon is if yes i need your hack plz

  • I look at the cheat and survivor have many subtile cheat like running at 105 movement speed working 0.3 charge faster and thing like that.

For killer the best cheat i saw is a wall hack its kinda hard to prove you have that specially if you decide to run whisper so you camouflage the hack.

Not every cheater are insta heal survivor or a flying ghostface with huntress hatchet

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Really depends on the MMR bracket. My survivor queues are nearly instant most of the time and my most played killers take a bit longer. Less survivors at higher MMR and more killers. Population balance swings the other towards mid and low range I suspect.

If I queue up on a killer I'm really bad at like Huntress, I get an instant queue. Spirit or Nurse = time to make a snack.

Your mmr for your killer is really close to each other so you should not have a huge delay between your killer queue.

  • No i would see the grind and stop playing immediatly. But i would give the game a good try but i probably after 10 or so hour i would uninstall the game

  • @MikeyBoi said:

I honestly don’t even think perks have a determination on how games play out. Holding W as a survivor seems to be the meta now regardless of the same perks survivors run. I could run no perks as an experienced survivor and hold W on 75% of these maps and the majority of killers won’t be able to do anything…

Survivor dont need perk to dominate a killer that just how strong survivor are. Ofc that only because survivor are able to 1v1 a killer in a 4v1 game if they could not 1v1 a killer then the powerrole would be in the killer favor

  • OP is right that perk is not overpower and its fair because like he said swf already have that perk as a basekit. Maybe that perk should be basekit like that survivor can keep their 4 second chance perk and their booner intact

  • @Irisora said:

I think not, if they go full W against the artist you can't do much other than chase normally and expect the survivor to stop at some loop, while with nurse you can hit them faster and you don't need to set up anything, that of course if you play with addons. Basekit nurse can't do much againts full W survivors.

When the artist player become good he will be able to hit the survivor with 2 crows easy.

Ofc its easy for the artiste to put some crows in a loop and wait for the survivor to run in them but that the basic stuff that easy to counter

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

Dowsey also thought Pinhead was S tier.

I haven't played the PTB but from what I've seen from various streamers, she does not seem close in strength to Blight or Nurse. Are they really complaining about how strong she is or is it just how fun she is to go against?

Side note: Why do I see posts about buffing Overcome and nerfing Hex: Pentimento, am I missing something?

If she dont change she have the potentiel to be a top 3 killer and that what we need. The skill ceilling with her is insane too if you lose with her its because you play badly and no because of some BS the average killer need to deal with. I think shes going to be phenomenal in the right hand and a bad killer in the average killer player if she dont change
