100% casual, but im like that with any game. I was never interested in being the best and always winning. I prefer to laugh and have fun and do stupid things here and there and try new random builds (perk roulette). Way back when i first got the game i thought when i played killer i always had to sweat my booty off but now im like meh. The game becomes more fun when you go in with no expectations, of course there are frustrating moments or wildly different skill levels but idk, its just a game move on to the next trial. Let yourself go and laugh a little :)

probably the only one in dbd history but huntress for me, dont like having to run and dodge at the same time, but i oh so love sniping people
-
i dont find killer hard per say, i just find most games are pretty boring now. ive noticed a lot more stealth gameplay recently

I agree about generators. I usually see people who play Killers complaining about how fast the five generators were done. A few hours ago, I was against a Legion. They were decent, it was fun to be chased by them. But... They downed me, and three generators were done. They stayed near the hook and tunneled me until I died.
I can't blame them for doing it. One chase, three generators lost? I don't want the chases to be shorter, because it's the fun aspect of the game. As a Killer, it's fun to hunt, to chase, and to be rewarded to end a long chase by finally downing your opponent. As a Survivor, it's fun as well to run away from the Killer and trying to mindgame on a pallet.
I don't know what could be done about generators. I'm a solo Survivors, but most of the time, I have decent teammates who know how to hold M1, how to make a chase... Sometimes, we are completely destroyed, but it's fine. It happens.
I don't know if we need more time to repair a generator, if we need new objectives Survivors must do in order to escape... I'm not a game developper, I'm afraid of having my own biased idea of how to balance a game. But, as I said, from what I've read here and there, generators seem to be the biggest issue. Camping and tunneling? It seems like some players use these strategies because they're afraid/used to see too many generators popping during the first chase.
This right here....i dont think making gens take longer is the issue, its already boring enough being on a gen alone for 80 ish seconds. There has to be something else like collecting parts scattered across the map or not allowing more than 2 survivors on a gen at one time (like healing) and with all these perks i think its now time to make some base kit, thrilling tremors needs to be basekit, if the game detects you as playing solo then kindred needs to be base kit. Also im not sure if this would break the game but maybe if you had to wait 15-30 seconds before anything in the map spawns (totems and generators) like after 30 seconds the entity places the items on the map so the killer and survivors both have time to get to certain areas or just get a ball rolling
-
i never understood why killers care about kills in the first place, who cares if all 4 escape, i like the chases and mindgames and scares, who cares about kills
-
nah i want my my points, you can sit there under hook if you wish after i unhook you though. idc

Because it’s an effective tactic? You do gens fast at the start so why can’t killers slug when it’s necessary?
i guess im the only one in the entire community that actually likes to play the game even if it means im losing....why queue up for such a quick game? if youre doing that well as killer let them reset so you can actually...idk play?
-
idk its just part of the package deal, i play both sides as well and i do lots of "toxic" things as survivor, but i dont get butthurt when playing as killer when its done to me. cause i know if i was survivor id be flashlighting and teabagging (sometimes) and looping and head on stunning and breakout-ing and sabotaging, cause i know to expect it when i play killer, its a full circle baby, just play the game
-
95% of my games i play to make the killer laugh or to mess with them, ill drop down without balanced because sometimes you guys will overshoot and swing the wrong way and miss, i jump into lockers cause it throws people off sometimes and especially if i have quick and quiet. running around a small object or rock will actualy extend the chase a few more seconds than pressing forward since youre already on my booty anyways.
i sometimes run breakout so you best believe im gonna be play grab ass when i can and following that juicy booty (also sometimes i want a stack of WGLF so ill take the protection hit while you are carrying to get 4 stacks)
i havent DC'd in awhile, if im found first its just my time i guess.
i crawl away when slugged to irritate you, not me, ill go into a corner and make a drink, its your 3 mins not mine
i teabag only when it was a super close call or hit, or i think you should have gotten the hit but it didnt so i do a little friendly teabag like "Wow that was close", its not disrespect. i also blind at pallets mostly for points and because i run iron will so it throws killers off quite often
-
if theres multiple survivors in front of me ill go after the one with the most annoying cosmetic, ill drop chase if i havent hit anyone by 20-30 seconds max to go check on gens, sometimes ill just do a hit and run

Spirit is useless if you are are low MMR going against high MMR survivors yes. She is not useless at all, but now you actually have to play smart and wont be carried by the lack of information she provided.
Also, saying killer is at it's worst it as ever been, you clearly werent here years ago. Old brand new part, actual insta heals, old DS, actual infinites.
oh ive been here since the beginning, but im saying killer is at its lowest point in the current meta/state. We dont talk about old insta heals and forever broken hooks because games are always trash when they are new. but in the current 2019-2021 era, its pretty bad right now.
-
killer is probably in the worst place to play right now, the boon totems, consistant nerfs, spirit is beyond useless now compiled with the iron will/stridor boon shadow step can always hear her trash. i dont blame killers for tunneling and camping
-
Ill never to this day understand why the events bring out the worst of people, sure generally the undesirable playstyles are year round, but events multiply it by 100, just play normally, i dont wanna have to always bring the try hard survivor build just to smash some pumpkins and get a couple event generators
-
i go thru phases, right now havent played in about a month. Last stretch was 4 months. Ill get the urge to play a lot for like 2 or 3 weeks and then it gets boring. plus i have a lot of other games ive been giving attention to
-
nothing really, im usually the first to press ready so i can keep watching my youtube video, though i do like equipping lightborn for flashlights and staring them right in the face. it always takes them a few seconds to realize they cant blind you its hilarious
-
I feel like im the only person who enjoys playing solo, i get so much enjoyment from seeing what my teammates are doing, id much rather laugh and have a good time than always "win"
-
basically what tippy said, im not gonna ignore the other survivors who i can find easily just to go search the map for one person i may not even find, thats what the game is about though, the asymetrical aspect is that elodie has every right to play immersive if she wants to. and it sucks but if you are the 1 survivor who i always happen to find then it may very well be the death of you, sometimes you gotta adapt and maybe hide a little bit yourself so they others can be found and then do stuff when the killer is distracted.
i try my hardest not to tunnel but if everyone is gonna be little scardy cats then im gonna go make myself a drink, i dont have time to corral the children
-
just please stop giving me lerys when im huntress, please please please

How can the killer dare to defend their stuff.
Page 78 section 7B-2, killers shall allow survivors to cleanse all totems on map regardless if they are in a chase or spotted out in the open (please notice my sarcasm)
in all realness the most unfair thing to happen to me is getting addicted to this game no matter how much worse it gets with each new update
-
I was .000001 seconds away from cleansing a DULL totem and the killer decided to hit me

I have never understood why so many killers seem to only have fun it they get 4ks. I can play battle royales and not win a single game in hours and still have fun. In fact, that's usually what it's like for me playing BRs. It's just always been odd to me that DBD has a grey area and yet so many people see that as a loss. Survivors don't see every game where not all four survivors make it out as a loss and therefore not fun and not worth playing. I just do not get it.
But I am glad you're having fun regardless of how many kills you get. That's how I play killer as well. I play video games to have fun, and that's not contingent on winning.
i think it boils down to a "them vs me" mentality, you have no one to fall back on or help you progress. in battle royals its 40-60 people in one game so theres no one to really single you out like a team of 4 survivors would do to 1 killer.
the losses in battle royals or even league of legends to an extent dont feel so dissapointing when you have a team to fall back on
but when you realize its just an online game going against a bunch of randos that really dont care who you are then it becomes less of a problem with your own psyche

While it's true that not caring can save you from a world of hurt with this game, BHVR's abysmal matchmaking doesn't do them any favors either. It's easy to say that you don't care how a match plays out, but when the matchmaking pits you against people far more experienced than yourself time and time again, it gets old real fast.
yea i could see that from a new players perspective 100% i went thru the same thing with apex, getting launched in a game i know nothing about going against people that have played since launch, but that didnt stop me cause i still had fun and it pushed me to get better. I have 1.5k hours on dbd so im not new by any means but im also not a god tier player. i think when people realize they are going against people way better than them they can take that time to learn how people are looping and when to swing/not swing or practice your power, learn the maps. online games arent meant to babysit you

I wish I could even play the game, unfortunately console has been unplayable for the last month and a half
i feel for you, :( hopefully its resolved soon

If im carrying a survivor to a hook and i pass by hatch ill let them have it
i try my hardest to never go after the person just unhooked even if im losing hard
if a person is trying to get my attention by spamming vaults or flashlights i will purposfully ignore them (have fun sitting on gens all game)
i dont slug for the 4k

If a killer is chasing an injured survivor, and chooses *not* to break off the chase to go after healthy survivors on a gen..... this is probably a bad tactic, but maybe that player thinks it's their only option for a down, and (right or wrong) think they're going to lose anyway. And just want a kill.
In that case who are we to tell them how to play. Most people who complain about tunneling seem to think the killer is some real life Ted Bundy, who's only aim is to spoil the survivors game and laugh maniacally. In truth.... maybe sometimes, the killer just wants a kill.
theres a lot of factors to consider though, is the gen almost done? are you still at 5 or 4 gens? is this injured person out in the open and an easy target? will this person going to second stage create a lot more pressure? just because a killer is going after the injured person first doesnt mean they are tunneling, they are just taking what they think is the best course of action, are you unhooking in my face and dont have borrowed time? this isnt Fair by Daylight, each side has their objective and its up to them how they want to achieve it
-
its for sure overrated, i never use it cause half the time im exhausted on the ground. But its not a matter of "knowing they have it so bait it out" its more like theres nothing you can do if they DH to a pallet or window, you cant bait that out. using it out in the open saves them 3 seconds
-
Id say blight for me (pc player) nurse just requires practice blinking around and gauging distance, blight has to go against the map and the survivors and i always find it difficult to keep track of survivors when im running around super fast
-
I dig twins, and i love the sound of her releasing viktor, so ominous
-
im indifferent on the map, i like the aesthetic i think it fits well in dbd, the hatch thing is a problem as well as totems (i legit can find 1 per match) but i dont mind getting the map, maybe against hag its kind of annoying cause her traps blend with the colors and grass very well but it is her map so i understand
-
its some feast or famine times right now, people are agitated with all the bugs and slow fixes to lagging and console issues, so many people cant play the event because of it. i try to make it fun for everyone cause i like to see it from their point of view, though i will say ive been running starstruck agitation nurse and having way too much fun so i apologize in advance

Yeah, it's so dumb you see so many Lery's.
And when I get an outdoor map, it's almost only Haddonfun and Osmond, with like 5% chance of a corn map or MacMillan... I'm so glad I don't use any cakes, since I'm so over getting almost only indoor maps and the 2 outdoor maps I just named.
oh your lucky, its always lerys or Midwich for me, other than that corn maps are my second home right now. i got temple of purgation once last night and i was so happy even though the map is huge lol
-
ive gotten lery's so many times i had to stop playing blight and huntress :(
-
ive been to coldwind more times than i can count, and never thompson house :(
-
People just need to accept the fact that there will be toxcicity from boths sides, other games have lived with it for many years and they are doing just fine, its ok to rant and vent but its never going to change. I will say though what may look like toxic gameplay might just be a couple of friends fooling around at the killers expense, everyone has to make their own fun you cant expect the other side to do it for you, so either sweat your little booty off or play along with them, the choice is yours
-
Blight, im terrible with his rushes, its more of a comedy skit than a killer game
-
for killer it was corrupt, i still run it on hag and trapper but i used to run it on almost every killer, realized that it doesnt really do too much for killers that dont need set up
for survivor it was WGLF, i was so addicted to getting extra bloodpoints but now i dont need them as much and realized its kind of a waste of a perk, the faster healing when someone is downed is very niche
-
There will never be one true answer, every survivor wants something different. Just play normal, idk what normal is per say but theres really no reason to sweat at 5 gens or camp, its impossible to get each side to play fair though. When i play killer im playing just to play, i have no reason to camp slug or tunnel even if im losing hard, you know why? cause its just a game and ranks dont matter, even if i have no kills and 2 hooks and the doors are about to open i dont camp the hook, they won, they did their objective and i failed. Next game. i probably still got a good chunk of BP and thats all i care about
-
I used to always run spine chill, i conditioned myself not to use it, you could say its a weaker resilience or prove thyself, but only for a couple seconds cause usually they are coming towards you if its lit up the whole time so you gotta move, its really only good against ghost face and myers and pig, which i dont see much of. Its good if youre running a vault speed build but id say thats about it, i have good headphones so i can always hear myers breathing, demos stomping from coming out of a portal, ghost faces clothing, and wraiths asthma, id rather use other perks, i never used premonition cause the amount of times it goes off cause you happen to be spinning your camera or something makes it useless.
-
If they were to ever make a 2v8 mode they would have to specifically create maps for that. And there could be stipulations like if both killers are within a certain meter radius of each other get a movement speed reduction or if a survivor is hit when another killer is within 16 meters that survivor can take 3 hits before going down, things like that, it would have special rules that people would have to learn
-
Everyone would just play spirit and be across the map in 3 seconds with .2 second activation time and a 5 second cooldown
-
i usually reject it, its me vs them, if they win thats great...lets move on, i dont need an extra 500 points.
-
Buff trapper, the OG killer needs some love
Nerf Deathslinger, he needs a wind up kinda like huntress so theres at least some counterplay
-
also to add to that, gen rushing while yes is a salty killer term, can also be miscontrued. its the killers job to patrol and stop gen progression WHILE hooking people, not the other way around, if youre getting gen rushed its because you arent doing your job, some people will sacrifice themselves or 4 toolboxes with best add ons and only do gens, no chests, no totems, just get in get out and leave with 10k bloodpoints if that, but its mostly your fault as a killer if 3 gens pop by the time you down someone
-
Theres a difference between being an easy target or always getting caught at the wrong time, and actual tunneling, tunneling gets misinterpreted by salty survivors. actual tunneling is when the killer deliberatly ignores all other objectives such as protecting gens, downing other survivors, slugging because youre not the one they want, ect. ect. when they will go out of their way to 3 hook you and nothing else matters except getting you out of the game, that is true tunneling

Truth be told, Demise of the Faithful was indeed a good chapter. It was the first one that I actually saw on release, and I still remember how interesting my first trials against the Plague were.
i still enjoy playing plague, im glad they added the pool to start because it got annoying when good survivors would just not cleanse all game youre just a puking tall lady
-
i think if they were negligable like the ones you posted it could work, they cant make any of the passives too strong or else people would gravitate towards the 1 or 2 overpowered passives and youd just see clauds and lauries for example
-
I started playing when the plague chapter game out, i thought she was so cool and gross and scary. and i remember for the longest time i didnt know head on was a perk and i kept trying to stun the killer cause i thought it was just a game mechanic, oh i miss the days of being innocent and new sometimes
-
if im steamrolling at 5 gens ill usually go get a glass of water or something, let them reset because i want everyone to enjoy the game. maybe they are new and dont know what to do so i give them a chance, theres a streamer out there, wont say names and i do enjoy his content sometimes but he always slugs and stomps at 4-5 gens and honestly its become boring to watch, idk where people find enjoyment in that, i like the chases and close calls and good plays
-
if i have fun, which i usually do even if i get a 4k or 0k, i make the game work for me not the other way around
