Everyone has access to the killer queue.

People may not want to play killer, but the option is there if anyone is struggling getting the items as Survivor.

    I understand your concern/frustration, though.

The problem is the killer queue ends out being longer during events already because killer side tends to get more BP, add in being easier to get cosmetic and the waits are even longer. I usually end out playing killer at some point during events just for higher BP games than survivor but I want to play the game not just sit in a lobby waiting for a match.

I'd rather they do what they did during winter/new year events where it doesn't push everyone to play one side even more for the cosmetic reward and doesn't have requirements to make people play even sweatier than normal.

Survivors don't have to escape, just have to be alive with an invitation active when the gates are opened.

Still worse than winter/new year events - during those it didn't matter when you died. You can't prevent the killer camping/tunneling you out or teammates DCing making it more difficult to get to that point in the game. Killer can just go grab theirs then go afk facing a wall and they'll still get theirs. Survivor that played their best all match only to die just before exit is opened gets nothing. It's pretty unfair/crappy system and it encourages survivors to sweat leading to that unfun vicious circle of who can make the match end faster for least blood points possible.

  • It's really unfortunate that they went back to requiring survivors to escape in order to get the cosmetic reward too. So not only is it a bummer to play an offering for BP for everyone but also can be prevented from getting your anniversary cosmetic. It's sad that the winter/new year events are more rewarding than their Anniversary event.

Behold. Sheer disappointment. This was supposedly the last Iridescent I needed for the Survivor Evader challenge. Smh. 😥

    How does that even happen?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7F0YMKSXQFFV/disappointment.jpg

That was every match when I put that challenge on. Tried both killer and survivor. As killer even tried a farming match and still just below iri. 😂

Switched to break pallets as killer, literally standing in pallets and survivors won't drop them. I'm getting maybe 1 or 2 pallets a match, even on the Game map where there are plenty of pallets to waste. 😂

How the hell can you name and shame a burner steam account made 2 days ago, again?

You left the name in screenshot so it's considered name/shame which breaks forum rules. Just letting you know, it's your choice to leave it up or take it down before a mod sees it.

  • Aura perks like windows of opportunity or aftercare are super useful when it's dark. Woo for just getting around the map and in chases, aftercare for finding teammates for heals and find what gens they're working on. A key with add-on to see killer aura during nightfall is also pretty helpful.

Tonight I equipped the challenge where all you have to do is succeed skill checks. Proceeded to repair a generator almost 80% of the way without triggering a single check.

Yup. And if you do get downed you'll be right under a hook so not enough time for skill checks there and your teammates will rescue you before your first skill check in struggle. 😂

  • You should black out their name too. Naming and shaming is against forum rules.

Yea it goes at least until December now so it was extented too. Nice

Mine shows it going through May 2023.

  • Yes. I'd much rather new maps over new perks.

  • I'm just happy people get the codes. 😁 Also means that @tippy2k2 shares Holly pics. 😁

  • I'll use them only if you can guarantee every match will be high BP for everyone, that it won't instead be vicious circle of survivors trying to escape as fast as possible while killers try to kill as fast as possible resulting in lowest possible BP for everyone.

  • I don't question it simply because people will find a reason to camp. I more so question the survivors that don't focus on gens when someone is giving them time by staying on the hook getting 0 BP or pips while their teammates do nothing to progress the game and instead give the killer an easy 3/4k.

  • No, there's plenty of reasons to dodge a lobby. Adding a penalty to the lobby before the match has even started is completely unnecessary. If it has an impact on matchmaking they should fix matchmaking not give players penalties which would only encourage the players to not play DBD at all.

As killer I'll leave lobbies if I already played v a survivor in one of my last couple of games. I personally don't like facing the same killer players back to back (or only a match or two apart) so when I'm killer I leave since I would hope a killer in my situation would do the same.

As survivor if I'm playing swf and something happens where my swf teammate didn't enter the lobby with me I back out to try again. If I'm playing with swf teammate I'm not just going to play a match without him because there was a glitch where he didn't come to the lobby with me.

  • I had a killer do that yesterday when someone played an anniversary cake. They basically just kept everyone, including themself, from getting much BP. Same person probably complains about the grind even though they play in a way that gives them lowest BP possible as killer. 😂

  • Would've encouraged more playing if you could get a mask for every character. Definitely a shame they're only doing 12.

  • This is still happening. It's pretty frustrating when it's a match that would've bumped me into the next grade and I miss out on it only to have several negative pip matches after due to killers that camp/tunnel. Please fix because restarting doesn't give me back the pips I missed out on for my correct grade.

Omg I love her she's beautiful.

As for cows, I can't actually remember. I just remember seeing a fluffy one irl and then the hyperfixation began. Favourite type is absolutely highland because they are soft and fluffy and in order to sell them they have to have professional grooming appointments and someone rates their haircut and I just love them.

If I were a forum Mod and could make any changes that I want, whatsoever, I'd probably make a de-escalation process. After x amount of good posts and x amount of time on good behaviour, a previous strike is removed (so if you were jailed, and then you were de-escalated, the next infraction would be another jail and not a 30-day ban). Obviously, this wouldn't apply for being who are permanently banned.

Also, I'd see about removing the no alt accounts rule. I understand why it's there, but having a permanent ban for this just seems weird, especially if you forget your password or something.

Finally, I'd make it a rule that everyone has to send me a picture of a cow, donkey, or miniature horse.

Thanks for answering my Qs, here's some cows.

  • I'm guessing it's going to be used during anniversary and some are slipping into bloodwebs before they actually turn on the anniversary in couple days.

  • I've only been there 3 times, 2 times it was mostly nightfall so couldn't see anything majority of the match and 1 time was v camping iri head Huntress where I died on first hook. I wish I could go to it more to see what it's like v other killers.

  • Probably players want to p3 their characters before the prestige change and killers tend to get more BP than survivors. That combined with new killer and you have more playing killer than survivor.

  • How did he get destroyed if he got a 4k?

you know there is the difference between something amazing and sketchy and again im just one person i doubt they would get banned dw about them

but no here we are, telling me i got people banned even tho i reported some few accounts that felt sketchy

let's just end this im a bit tired and had my fun, understand if u want or don't its your choice

There's a difference between people actually cheating and a player with a private profile that made a play you think was "sketchy." Just get proof of cheating instead of continuing to falsely report players that are most likely innocent.

  • Tropical Island/beach/resort

    Castle

    Space

    Amusement park

Fair grounds. I go to a fair that has huge barns for different things - veggies, birds, pig's, cows, rabbits, flowers, etc. Then there's like food area, event area, rides, etc. Something like that could be cool map with fun things to run around.

im reporting them so if they were hacking they get banned if not they go on with their gameplay

NOT HOPING TO GET BANNED why the hell would i wanna ban anyone that isn't cheating

Because you're reporting people with no actual proof of cheating, it's just you thinking they maybe did something sketchy and they have a private profile. If you actually didn't want to try to get innocent players banned you would get actual proof of cheating instead of "private profile and they made an amazing play and that's sketchy so must be cheater even though there's nothing to prove they were cheating."

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2997396#Comment_2997396

my man seriously that's the 4th time and i don't just report ANYONE if they make a good play for the billtionth time i said something sketchy if they pull some outplay on me there is no reason to report or anything but when someone is literally uncatchable without lithe or dead hard you might just start getting a little suspicious and recording dbd is a nightmare since the game just tends to crash for ME

and i don't expect any person to agree with me

this whole community literally can't agree on anything

and again 1 person isn't gonna get ANYONE BANNED not sure why everyone is taking it like im getting people banned as we speak

reminder : SKETCHY NOT OUTPLAY, SKETCHY, just so you understand it <3

I don't use Dead Hard or Lithe but have outrun killers for way too long because they just aren't that good or make mistakes. You yourself in this post have said you aren't that good so it's very likely you aren't catching them due to your own poor playing. If your game just tends to crash it could just be your game is running poorly making others look like something sketchy is happening but really it's on YOUR end.

If you can't prove they are cheating then you shouldn't be reporting them. Whether or not you think being 1 person reporting matters it's still crappy to falsely report players just because mid-game you thought a player with a private profile maybe did something sketchy. You're reporting them because you're hoping to get them banned - you are trying to ruin another players game just like a cheater tries to ruin players games.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2997349#Comment_2997349

you just said the comment in 3 different ways but whatever u say mr sore winner/loser since u like that word so much

i would get some evidence but again there is no replay nor history in this game and im no streamer soooo

what do you think i should do when someone pulls something sketchy just watch and bang my head on wall?

and again its not about justification if a kill or give hatch or they escape if they played normally even with a private profile i won't report them mainly the fact that they did good

you're basically saying that i call people who use dead hard cheaters which just kinda funny

I'm guessing you obviously don't know what a sore winner/loser is. It is someone that no matter if they win or lose they do not handle it well - in your case it's wanting a reason to report someone in hopes they'll be banned because they made a good play at some point in the match that you think can only be cheating and not just a good play. You use "private profile" as your "proof" since you have no actual proof that it was cheating and because it was most likely just a good play.

There are ways without being a streamer to record your matches. A simple Google search will show you how. Since you are on PC it is much easier to record and share than it is for those on console. If you run into as many cheaters as you claim then you should start recording your matches for proof. If you can't actually prove they are cheating then you are most likely making false reports and like I said before - trying to get innocent people banned with false reports is just as bad as an actual cheater ruining players games.

You're just making up excuses to not prove someone is actually cheating, just your "they did an amazing play and have a private profile" which is not proof at all that they are a cheater. You want to be justified and you made this post thinking people would agree and give you a pat on the back but instead you have 3 pages of people repeatedly telling you what you are doing is wrong.

im starting to feel like you didn't even the read the post

    but allow to tell you

PULLING SOMETHING AMAZING and then someone checking your accounts and finding it private will get some alarms raised again its not about ME WINNING OR LOSING are

and even tho u said this yourself that toxicity is spread across the community

asking someone how they made that AMAZING PLAY will just fuel their ego and they will start calling u baby killer

so what the hell are u even on about

You're just making up excuses to report people for cheating without any proof. You're being a sore winner/loser claiming if someone makes an amazing play and happens to have a private profile the only reason is that they are a cheater. You just want to feel justified for falsely reporting people when really you trying to get innocent players banned is just as bad as an actual cheater ruining players games.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2997285#Comment_2997285

and yes i would rather leave them under the the radar of bhvr then just let them ruin some poor killer's day

and it has nothing to do with me winning or losing

You're being a sore winner/loser because someone made an "amazing play" and your response is "must be cheater" instead of "they're just good at this game and made a cool play." You are then using private profile as a lame excuse to make yourself feel justified for reporting someone that just made a good play even if you won in the end when most likely its private to avoid the toxicity/harassment that is quite popular in the DBD community.

Instead of asking them how they made the amazing play so maybe you could learn and get better at the game you instead are reporting them because you have decided without any actual proof that they are a cheater.

i don't care about your information, its nice to meet pc players every now and then but when they all have private profiles im force to dodge people that have the same advantage as me and i said mostly im not reporting everyone

    Screenshot_20220613-172837.png

That's says you mostly reported every single private profile.

You're just coming off as paranoid and a sore winner/loser just looking for a reason to report others, private profile being the easiest and most convenient reason for you.

  • Players complain about toxicity in community, they get told to make their profiles private to avoid it only to get people like you reporting them for making their profiles private. 🙄

  • Tenacity. I get teammates that crawl instead of recover way too often and ruins quick pick ups/resets. If they ran Tenacity it would be so much better.

  • Congrats! Please accept this pic of my dog sleeping under the cover we put on our the furniture to protect it from her.... She believes she's supposed to pull it down and use as blanket. 😂

    _20220613_165057.JPG

    As for questions...

When did you start loving cows and what type is your favorite?

If you were mod of the forums for a week is there anything you'd change? Any rules you'd make?

  • If it's not the last survivor I can see them doing it to deny killer perks like BBQ or scourge hooks or in hopes the hatch will open next to the other survivor before killer can get to them. I'm sure most times it's just rage quit/not wanting to see animation but atleast there can be strategic reasons for it.

For killer though it is just silly to quit at end when survivors are in the exit. They still get escape points and it counts as escape for tome challenges so it's not like the killer is denying the survivors anything. DC at end really only hurts the killer.

  • I think it'd be super useful if they added it to the kill switch page.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/299-kill-switch-master-list

  • While it'd be nice I just think about how little compensation we received when they removed the Hawkins offerings. I'm keeping expectations very low.

  • There's alot more negatives than positives when it comes to going back to rescue a random during end game. They would need to make the reward worth the risk and right now it's not.

You only get 1000-1500 BP for an unhook in a category that if you've made unhooks/heals throughout the match you've probably maxed out by end game. If you escape you get 5000 BP in a category that's very difficult to max out. You also risk dying/being left behind yourself if you go for that end game save - so not only miss out on the escape BP but also dropping your MMR which for survivor can result in worse teammates.

I've gone back plenty of times for a rescue only to then be left behind instead of teammates resetting and coming back to get me. If during the match it doesn't seem like the team will be one to work together during end game to get everyone out then I'm leaving first chance I get. If I get hooked during end game I expect to die because the randoms have more to lose than they do to gain by risking a save.

Going back for a save in general is risky. Add in Nightfall, NOED, basement, etc. - they increase the risk with no increase in reward for the other survivors.

  • Context of that is platform exclusives though, not exclusives as a whole.

Edit: thinking about it though the Hooked on You cosmetic definitely goes against this because only PC will have access to that cosmetic, not console.

  • They should have the basement be a hatch spawn on all maps. Make it extra risky to escape.

  • The only thing that hurts console players are performance issues from poor optimization and limitations on controller that aren't there for m&k. It has nothing to do with who is/isn't more skilled.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2993875#Comment_2993875

For real, though. I did a bunch of tome challenges lately, and after I got burned by a NOED nurse, I just leave, no questions asked, let the killer have their 1k on the hook, no need to risk it and feed them myself.

Yup, like I said I'll be disappointed but whatever - if I go down at end game I expect to die even if it's my first hook. I'd rather only have the killer get 1k instead of 3-4k because my teammates are trying for bad unsafe unhooks causing it all to snowball. If you can reset, have BT, and will take hits for higher chance of getting us all out that's cool but if not then you should just leave. If I've had enough matches where I haven't escaped I just start leaving first chance because I'm sick of the death animations that can't be skipped.

  • I'm on ps4 and I've done fine with the nightfall but my swf teammate who is also on ps4 gets pretty bad eye strain from it, to the point if he faces back to back Dredges or has a long match v one he needs to take a break.

There's a reason other games that have darkness allow you to adjust the brightness settings, it's not just to make it easier to see but for some people the screen being too dark causes eye strain. They should adjust it enough so that it doesn't cause eye strain from being too dark.

  • If you pair it with the perk that shows you survivor auras when a survivor is unhooked unless they did a group unhook you'll be able to see where that survivor ran off to.

  • Why would you kill a survivor and get yourself more BP? How dare you. 😂

If you slugged them for 4 minutes at the end just revving your chainsaw nonstop over them until they bled out - that would've been unnecessary and I could understand a "but why be like that?" at the end. But I'm assuming you hooked them and got more BP, just playing normal and profiting off them being greedy for extra points/item.

Honestly the number of times I die in EGC after killer downs me because I chose to go back for something instead of just leaving is way too high and I never blame the killer. I blame myself for going back instead of leaving - every time I say "that was dumb, I should've left." At most I might get disappointed in my teammates if they just leave without taking chance to try and save me after I helped them, but with mmr I get leaving the random behind even if they helped you out.

  • Varies. Sometimes I choose ones that I think fit the character - pumpkin on Myers, can of worms on Meg, charms that came from their specific rifts, etc. Sometimes it's just a charm I like alot. Sometimes it's whatever is the current holiday/season. Right now I have Maurice on everyone because #justiceformaurice🐎

  • I believe Mandy commented on another post it'd be coming sometime next week.

  • I think they should just have 3 survivor and 3 killer dailies all the time.

  • @Akumakaji said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2993626#Comment_2993626

And here I am, always giving those Myers a free kill, because I know about the pain of some of those achievments and challenges.

One cool moment was with a Yui and me as Pyramid Head. I saw her entering a jungle gym and burst in, sword in the ground ... only to find her fumbling with some glyph, and I averted my projectile just in time and patiently waited till she was finished. She then turned towards me, we both nodded, I gave her a wack and then we resumed the chase. She ended up the last survivor, so I escorted her to the hatch and wer parted ways, there.

During green glyph after gens were done I stopped in front of Trapper to grab a green glyph, he grabbed me but then let me go so I could get the glyph. I then walked over for him to hook me, he motioned for teammate to unhook after they'd opened the doors. I saw other glyphs do figured I'd grab what I could quickly find then find him for kill - I ran up to him just as EGC ended.

There are times I will give killers kills. If the Mikeys will hook players that jump in lockers I'll be more willing to let them mori because I know they're still going to play the game with/without the counter. It's the ones that would rather have a standoff/bleed out survivors than hook them even once, I'm not just going to give them their trophy because it's hard to get.
